Start in Ground Zero, Woods, or Customs (my suggestions, start anywhere but Factory). You want to get one map down well. Don’t spread yourself thin early on. Focus on getting good enough at one map you can always go back there and make money if you need to, then go learn others. But follow your tasks overall.

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die, try to have fun with it.

Some items sell for quite a bit more on the flea than they do on traders for various reasons, some tasks require you to get items that have been found in raid so you may want to hold on to those. Otherwise just try to get your hideout upgraded for the moment.
It boils down to game knowledge for what to keep and what to sell, you'll have to learn that for yourself.

Flea market prices aren't fixed, some items may be more expensive early wipe and borderline worthless end wipe and the other way around. For example corrugated hoses are worth their weight in gold early wipe because it's needed for hideout construction but end wipe noone buys it since their hideouts are already complete. Sugar on the other hand is almost worthless untill people start to build their moonshine factories in the hideout and then it starts to get expensive. Same story with rare gunsmith parts, during progression it's worth tons but when people are done with the questline it becomes drasticaly cheaper.

2. use your scav to learn maps (reserve, customs and woods are eaiest to learn)
3. dont undergear yourself for tasks, youre less likely to die with decent stuff on
4. go into raids with a obj in mind, if youre doing a task, dont loot or bring a small bag to discourage looting

Doing trader tasks is the best way to progress, check the wiki for guides.
Scav runs (don't TK other scavs) are a nice source of revenue and let you explore/loot in relative safety but you can't progress tasks that way

np. I'd honestly learn Ground Zero because that is a huge choke-point early wipe. Then get some familiarity with Factory/Customs then Woods.

When the wipe hits everybody will be competing for the same kind of loot and the same tasks, most will know what they are doing and you probably won't.
Imo now is a very good time to start, no need to worry about a losing streak since it'll wipe soon anyways and you get to keep the game knowledge you obtained, treat it as a practice run for when the wipe drops.

Fair warning, fighting end wipe players as a new player will be brutal. Play to learn the ropes, winning can wait till next wipe.

Start with learning Ground zero, Customs, woods and Factory since that's where most of the early game tasks will take you. Factory is the PVP map of choice so use it to get trough PVP tasks early. Use your scav a bunch to loot and explore relatively risk free (don't teamkill other scavs, you will be penalized) but don't neglect your PMC.

Put a bookmark on the wiki and give teaming up in this discord a go from time to time, manpower helps (never accept squad invites without being in voice comms, bad idea).
Try to follow the tasks mostly, once you've completed all GZ tasks and got a decent feel for the map move on to next one. Use your scav to explore maps but keep in mind the extracts don't match (use a map, the wiki has good ones). In my experience it takes about 5-10 runs trough a map to get a decent feeling for it. Focus mostly on figuring out where you spawned and where your extracts are, anything else can come after. Figure out your way from spawn to extracts and fill in the blanks and tasks as you go along.

Regarding the extract locations, you can use a map on another tab or alternatively learn the map on your scav. between pmc runs I always took my scav to the map I was focused on learning and trying to navigate without help from a 3rd party

Another rule of thumb is most extracts are on the opposite side of where you spawned

Hi everyone, I would like to get an answer to my question. I am trying the SKS and also would like to try the sniper rifle "Mosin", but if i would go for headshots is it then not better to get the mosin sniper rifle with the ammo 7.62 x 54mm R. That has a penetration value of 41. These bullets will penetrate a lvl 4 helmet. That is the reason i would like to use the mosin. On the other side I think the SKS is really nice because of the 40 RPM.

Try the SVT for the best of both worlds.
Generaly I'd prefer the SKS over the mosin

But bolt actions are hard to play, especially if youre new. So the sks is probably better

In theory, if you hit every shot then the mosin is better

But not too many people hit every shot

In the time it takes you to cycle the bolt on a mosin you can shoot five rounds with the SKS
