The small boat had something similar to control water on it, that was moving the longboat to shore. In 3 rounds the longboat hit the shore and the boarding party of the pirates boarded them. Led by a minotaur pirate. Was amazing

@terse pasture I just returned to painting minis a couple months ago (after a 25+ year break). It's challenging, but fun. The eyes are still super tough. I suggest getting a very small brush, and using as little paint as possible. There are a bunch of videos out there that have been helping me.

The base I used is an action set for photoshop, a kind of planet generator. It wants some input texture for several layers, water, land + 2 more. I modified the stuff heavily and added the vegetation and stuff, the border and all the shit also. 🙂

Yeah no I also have a full city with lots of factions and NPCs ready, that is the starter and the players get told that this city will also be their location of choice for some time, so no wandering the map, city sandbox first, so they get into the things...

I started with those planet generation actions for photoshop, then fiddles a lot in PS, the cities are from an icon set I bought, and stuff like the 3 shiny mountains are made with Filterforge, which is an amazing tool (or plugin for PS). 🙂

Yes it is. Look at the trees. If I now want more trees, I just paint with a special brush on the woods layer and it just sprays trees on it. 🙂 And the snow bits on the brownish mountains? That's just "bevel and emboss" feature with a bit of twiddling around with it. 😛 If I now add more mountains, the snow automatically is added to it. So I have a pretty nice set of in-ps-tools now to make more maps WAY faster.

I'm trying to avoid anything explicitly restricted by the SRD. It'll be a reference card system similar to Deck of Many, but more streamlined and flexible. The SRD has a bunch of creatures I'm wanting to start with, but it's missing a few I want to include and I'm not sure how close I can get to mimicing creatures that exist but not restricted in the fine print.

Like for instance, "Anchorite of Talos" from the latest Dragon of Icespire peak (my first DM experience yay!).

It's not forbidden in the SRD, but it's part of a campaign. The words "anchorite" is fair game but "of Talos" is fuzzy to me. Not to mention the stat block and abilities. I can fudge it a little to make it unique but compatible. But how far can i go is the question.

I'm a designer for some big corps. so I have some experience jumping through these hoops. I'm just gathering experience from the community how they accomplished this.

Experience from community might be completely wrong, best is to always ask the copyright owner about stuff. 😛

Good point, some of the articles I've read claim that WotC can be a little vague about things, but best to pursue all avenues possible is my belief.

Nah if you list the stuff like here "name of anothername" blabla can I use it... they can't be vague about it right? MAYBE is not an option here. 😛

They literally have the names and stat blocks of 177 creatures in that document

boar is a regular english word, they cant forbid the use in your stuff. 😛

And if WotC are touchy about even HINTING that this is compatible with Dungeons and Dragons, I want to be sure me listing "boar" and its stats are not violating their sacred laws

He is multiclassed in Warlock and his patron made him gauge out his eyes to replace them. I re imagined the Hexblade gift as eyes instead of stupid weapon. I only use spells.

I need to save up some coin and commission a map for this campaign idea I've had percolating in my head for over six years:

My campaign idea is a world where the Sylvari have been around for awhile, but quietly in the distant wilds. When humans and dwarves encounter them, the disruption to Sylvari life echoes into the Dream of Dreams, creating the Nightmare. The Nightmare spreads and escapes into the mortal realm and all of civilization is fighting a losing war against the encroaching threat.

The PC's are sylvari given a Wyld Hunt to traverse this nightmarish dreamscape that the world has become and to "rescue" as many of the other races as they can, capturing the essence and minds to ward within the Dream of Dreams for the day when or if the Nightmare is ever defeated
