and those are actually really good! keep doing and posting it
Finally getting into DnD after years of just watching from outside the window lol
Turned my goobers into little creatures as a type of way on dipping my toes in the pool. Super keen to chat with anyone about DnD stuff bc I'm super new and I'm not very knowledgeable about it but would love to learn
-# yes the fashion is based off the early 2000s bc I miss that time lol
my latest artwork, i think i'm slowly getting closer to the splash art level i aspire to (still a long way to go, but I'm happy with where i am)
God this is beautiful
This is amazing!!!
Recent commission!
@manic kiln @lament finch thank you so much 🥰
A recent dnd party i did
Hedda Ironlute - Dwarf Valor Bard
The story behind
A DnD party in peril
Lembas Greymourn
Cold, composed, and determined — everything a bard is not supposed to be. Where others sing for coin and glory, Lembas delivers his music as lamentations for the loss of his brother, at the hands of a dragon. The presence of Tiamat herself could not shake the brooding weight he moves with. With sword lodged in the green head's jaw, he readies his lute as a last resort.
Merida Fizzlewick
She shouldn't be here. She knows it. The dome crackling above the party is held together by her trembling hands and sheer refusal to be the reason everyone dies. An amateur sorceress barely reaching anyone's shoulder, Merida was never meant to be the mage of anything — let alone a battle against a dragon queen. Yet here she stands. Shaking, overwhelmed, and somehow still casting.
Calico Lupine
Calico has spent considerable effort constructing the image of a deadly, mysterious rogue, and it works on everyone except the people who have seen his adorable face. He is the one who dragged Durgin out of danger every time.
Durgin Ironbrave
The brave part of his name is an irony. As a cleric, he certainly lacks faith. Trying to live up to his family name, he embarks on this journey, hoping to slay the dragon queen. Yet reality strikes when his foot gets frozen, and his cowardice keeps him in place.
Inanna Embervein
A barbaric tiefling. What else should I tell?
Commission i finished of someones starfinder oc and pet, couldn't tell which color i liked the monkey the best lol
The purple is quite nice as it provides contrast to the very red tone oc
I think this place would appreciate this. My friend designed my graduation cap.
Can we share music here as well or is there a different thread for that?
The channel description says:
Share your D&D creations: illustrations, cosplay, music, and more.
So yeah, music counts, provided it follows the general server #rules!
drew my aasimar Torren.
Appreciate it! Thank you
recent DnD portraits super happy how they turned out 🥺
Holy shit! How long did these take
depends usually with no others things to do a couple of days
Well they definitely show how much hard work goes into em!! 🙂
Hexblood for a campaign I start soon
A Tranquil Moment Of Peace.
This what I want to make, it’s so gorgeous! Love your art
Covering bands to make heavy dnd music. I’ll upload a folder with completed songs if anyone is interested
I listened to them and they sound nice
character stuffs that I like. Been making a lot of references lately so I thought I share some
Recently finished this piece
Did my quick did characters redraw
Recently finished this commission
Does anyone have any tips for drawing dragonborns? I just started a campaign with some friends and I wanted to surprise them with art of their characters, but I'm struggling with the one dragonborn of the group...
A drawing of my Goliath who is a genuinely kind person
Check the #dnd-heroforge-etc channel and look at my 18ft tall warforge named Titian and nice drawing
Since BG3 was released, I use these as reference
Recent comission, Monk of the astral palm, Ta Mius
sharing my old art about the huntress of sci-fi post apocalyptic theme
Hmm, that’s a really nice idea! Your players will be very happy. What type of dragonborn drawing do you want and can you draw yourself?
I draw quite a bit, but my style is softer than most D&D artists that I've seen and I'm not sure if I can do a dragonborn character justice, y'know?
Hmm yeah,, I can understand if you want to have any tips and suggestions, then you can join me on DMs
A determined monk wielding his Dogstaff to fend off cultists I drew for the Truly Sentient Items!
Character: Cano, Hound Archon Monk, with the Dogstaff
“The winds of Mount Celestia are perfect and brook no imperfections in whom they touch.”
-Draddoc Lore-Hewer
Just got my first ever commissioned piece finished!!! @frostedgears is the best!!
Working on one of my forst creature concepts to put in the world I'm building. Its in working progress. I need to make action poses and expressions next.
That’s super cool! I love the little flower dress they’ve got on. And his cute little eyes :D
I got too tired to continue..
Horses be difficult fr
Yeah the lighting and the muscles is too much I’m just gonna go to bed 😭

Roman The PyRoman(cer/iac) - Half-Elf Sorcerer
Started converting my character to 3d
Shady elf princess sketch, who knows what she's up to? :D definitely nothing good
Thank you so much
. You're are so nice!
Dnd com
One thing that helped me when I made a Dragonborn character was treating the face structure more like a mix between a dragon and a bulky humanoid instead of just “a lizard person.”
I’d recommend focusing on the head shape or snout first, then building the horns, jawline, and scales around that. Looking at different reptiles for scale patterns also helps a ton.
FINALLY had the chance to bee a player. Unfortunately this guy has like 11 HP at lvl 3 so he's cooked
oh i loved the unfocus
Realized i had NO reference for my Lolthite’s face and i was just randomly drawing his Lolth’s embrace with no solid design, so went ahead and did this really fast lineless art to mark everything down
Okay that makes sense actually. Thank you!
Doodles of two merchant NPCs I made from my DND campaign!
Lutus the batfolk is quiet and polite but struggles massively to keep wild magic surges contained. He runs a shop in town permanently afflicted by a darkness spell where he sells his handmade scrolls as an outlet for his power.
Thea the Dragonborn has that same over the top energy Undyne has, and uses her fire/molten breath to forge and mold weapons. Odd, but very effective methods!
"The Order Of The Gauntlet does not falter. And Neither Will I" -- Victoreon, White Hawk Of The Gauntlet.
Donita , Divine Sorceress Tiefling
Made a bunch of little stand up photos bc mini figures are expensive! So heres all the important npcs at a ball my players are going to!
My pleasure
Recent commission
Commission I got done a while back by Cilorine!
Her name is Sally Tandervale! She entered a Celestial pact when she was 13 to swear off boys, swearing and alcohol. Now she is a 30 year old halfling and desperately trying to escape her pact. She still has to say the same cheesy one liners she picked when she was 13.
Wow..Incredible work done by your artist
She's cute, and so is the owl
I have my brother's commission if I can find it...
The magical girl aesthetic mixed with the owl companion fits her backstory so well. Cilorine did such a beautiful job on the design too, especially the hair and soft pastel colors.
I also have my brother's commission as well.
Nice
"ohmygodit'stuxedomask"
I'm so sad because Cilorine is booked until June.
Did I get that quote right? Been a while
I wanted to create a character who was really tired. So I made a burnt out magical girl lol.
The joke is that she's Chibi Moon in her 30s when all the glamour has worn off.
Is it like being reminded of how cringey you were as a teenager, but constantly in her case?
Yes.
She still has to say the same cheesy lines to enter her magical girl form.
(That she picked when she was 13)
So it's just constant cringe lmao.
ohh ..that is so sad
I mean I guess she'll be free in 9 days...
Oh the choices... To buy lego batman or to get a commission done...
Great, I’m sure the wait will be worth it.
reminder this isnt a discussion chat
Sorry.
I don't think I've posted this character here before, he's a pit fighter turned adventurer I commissioned
Yeah my bad
just finished this piece for my friend's dnd character. Eladrin life cleric.
Nice
decided to sketch my 5 dnd characters together 🙈

I'm making dice sets and need color combos, glitter or no glitter, transparent or no, and number colors if anyone wants to help the creative juices flow
Blue/purple/indigo with neon green/lime numbers :3
I want to create digital card or just screenshots of magic items that are presentable enough to hand out to players, i really like homebrewery its just a bit complicated for my smooth brain, does anyone have suggestions? (i dont really know where to put this kinda question sorry if wrong channel)
You could always use something like Canva or photoshop and make your own. Thats what I do since none of the templates I found on google were exactly what I wanted. There are sites to make your own MTG cards if you’re interested in that style.
a friendly reminder that this channel is for posting art! there's other channels for discussion
Alice, the stone statue cleric. (Uses the stats of a warforged.) Given a literal second chance at life, found the Peace Domain with Eldath and eventually became a priestess in her church!
(Artist is Meg Comb: https://www.tumblr.com/megcomb)
Koi ponds!!!
I made an interactive word puzzle for my group
Making dice trays for my campaign group that is starting this summer. The longer one is for our DM. Going to add felt once they’re dry. Boxes are from Hobby Lobby for $8-9 each. Already had the stain, which is called Early American. Felt was 99 cents per color I got. Total for project is going to be like $10 per tray.
Been working on my character for three months and the main art is STILL a wip😭 But hey, the chibi is ready! Meet Erif. She's a dancer who casually wields a giant scythe haha. A very strong woman. I've got literally 3 pages of lore for her already
I worked on a fun creature concept that's a mix of a teira batfish and hepatica blossoms, meet the Philippa.
my new necromancer (probs using the pointy hat homebrew version...)
Just finished another commission. This one of two characters 😄
i drew my paladin without his dumb helmet.. sorry if like since it's not digital it's strange i personally prefer picking up a pen and writing on paper. it just feels more natural.
No need to apologize, don't worry about the medium, art looks great
thanks
That looks incredible omg
is this made with AI?
It is, yeah. A moderator will deal with it when they're next around.
Ooo they are so cool! What did you make the water with?
lmao I looked at their message history, they know it ain't allowed and have still posted it at least twice
A scroll of revivify I've made

ashtura
Nemerii Kair, lvl 17 Hunter-Ranger/Druid. Eater of god hearts, saviour of her Moon-Druids, WitchesBane and more…
I first went in with a dark blue paint into the bottoms. Went over with a lighter blue, intentionally leaving some spot near edges and fish to be darker. Used scenic water resin to add a transparent layer. Then bruahed up scenic water ripple efects to add texture, and to create the motion from the fish. Added a second layer up ripples to create the illusion of light refracting through water, and then used white paint to hit the crests of the ripples do add wake.
Art for patron: Roar - Kobold Barbarian
My friend sent me some hair made from yarn.."plarn"
Finished them up!

This the sketch for a character I made called Rusty, a warfroge barbarian.
WIP of a homebrew "enemy" for a friend...its moreso a visible representation of a consequence, less of an actual encounter.

Hello everyone, I'm an artist Tigrsasha and these are some of my ready-made commissions with customer DND characters.
very pretty art! this channel is not for advertising though, that's #dnd-advertisements
thank you, now I have placed an advertising post in the right channel, if possible, then let the pictures stay here.
Hey there, I did this dwarf portrait for a commission. A blacksmith, when he can he don’t hesitate to take his greataxe to help and fight ! Borin Martefer, this is his name, French name actually !
Midas Fox, a human pirate man man.
Artist is Evan Stanley (https://www.deviantart.com/evanstanley) -- the Sonic the Hedgehog comic writer/artist.
Hello! Check out my Work in Progress art piece where their DnD party is entering a lair to located the Undead King!
Plip is flying !
Atop a cliff overlooking the great forest, a heavy pair of footsteps stops and admires the view. A long journey to get here, and an even bigger one ahead. Lots of tales of the things that grow here!
Is it gonna be an easy journey? Nope.
Is it gonna be clean? Yeah... probably not.
Is it gonna be fun? Uh, darn RIGHT it will be!
Adventure awaits!
They look like Franklin.
I love them already.
yeah I get that a lot lmao
ty mate! Their name's Kamu, and I've drawn them a few times here! No land they won't explore to get rare and exotic food to cook with!
My [so far favorite] character Faelanor!!
First is him when he was younger, second is just a mini-sheet of his design and third is him and his beloved boyfriend, these are all quite old now though I need to make some more art :/
These are all incredible!
Thank you!
I made a rough silhouette for a villain of my own creation from a 20+ year old project I'm working on as an encounter of a big bad for one of my D&D groups! 😄 The rough is intentional as I'm trying to draw out the final redesign. 😊
WIP of a homebrew "enemy" for a friend...its moreso a visible representation of a consequence, less of an actual encounter.
TW: Bodyhorror, gore, death
That's actually sick :0
drawing my changeling, they so silly, the party’s hot soulknife rogue
fox spirit mommy who takes care of lost children and runaways from abusive families
she lives off of magic, so it comes with a nice bonus of her not needing to kill anyone and she just needs to be near them
no, she does not need physical touch, those are for weaker spirits
by just being around people or living things she can "steal" an insignificant amount of magic from them that wont actually affect them
that aside she actually treats the children as her own children and not just mere sustenance
its just a nice bonus
Pretty lady🥺
shes powerful enough to have her own little domain
still a pretty lady that i would trust
if you have no ill will yeah she would be a good host and even treat you to a meal
she likes she gives good hugs\
Leonardo in the sky, almost finished
Sick!
Made this rough silhouette of a villain I'm designing for a personal project I've been working on for 20+ years BUT decided to introduce him via a big villain encounter with one of the D&D groups I'm DMing! The rough is intentional as I will be coming up with his actual design soon! 😁
Sketch and lineart of an empyrean of Zeus and Tyche i made
Dnd Art Group!
yeah she does
she fluffy
and whether you hug from front or back your face will be full of fluffy softness
i made a volcano-themed character sheet (meant for martial classes as i didnt make a spellsheet), free to use and in correct printing DPI
sorry if the order of things is weird i just made it in a way that makes it easier to understand for me
Dude thats cool as hell
thank you!!
Can I send this to my friend so he can print this for his character cause it fits so well
of course! go right ahead
Thank you
The players experience a memory of their mentor (center!) fighting a campaign villain- they didn't know his body beneath the neck is covered in runic tattoos.
... the villain sketch is crude so far! But I swear it'll be menacing as heck! I hope.
A funny little thing I made of my Goliath who is a genuinely kind person
getting used to procreate so dnd characters art :)
My friend drew a little concept art of our party!
Art I made for the token of my lady cleric of the forge domain, Minna.
Art for patron: Niccolo Jacquet - Harengon Ranger
“and they were roomates…”
“omg they were roomates”
my pc and my bf’s pc in a college setting campaign

Sharing my creature design sheet for this cute walking flower creature. Meet Mossfeet
Oml he is so unbelievable swag…

That creature looks so comfy to sit on for some reason xD
It might let you lol

FINALLY i was timed out the first time
also fishbone 🤩🤩 (not his real name)
I like my new pc a lot
And now, the villains turned from sketch to hopefully aura-farming!
Really glad with the 'feel' in both honestly! 🙂
I found a tree branch and have been turning it into a staff. Here it is when I finished with bark removal (I kept some bark and underlayers of the bark to make it look more interesting)
Same staff but I've added copper plate and a stone from my rock collection to fill in a hole and make it look more mystical. Also handy for just bonking people 🙂
damn thats a good stick
Party illustration
Druid sketch
DDEX01-04 Dues for the Dead - The Catacombs (42x38)
Nice
Dungeon Mapper? @gusty sage
This one was made in Dungeon Painter Studio using Forgotten Adventures tiles/objects
I've switched to Clip Studio Paint for newer maps
I mean painter*
@gusty sage Is it worth the money? It seems rather expensive.
DDAL05-05 A Dish Best Served Cold - Bloodrider Camp (30x30)
DDAL05-05 A Dish Best Served Cold - Darkwater Run (30x30)
A couple of maps made in CSP
wow!
I second that.
Hello everyone! We are releasing base set of brushes for Clip Studio Paint that are showcased in this video. Get the brushes for FREE right here: https://www...
Clip Studio is pretty versatile, especially with the custom brushes you can use 😮 almost pretty much swapped over from Photoshop
(I use it for illustration and painting, but have done a map or two in it)
I think that if you find those brush setups, it IS easy 😮
IIRC there are some assets you can download in CSP that are 3D renders you can just plug into your canvas. Never used it though, I can't seem to get it to work xD
I haven't DM'ed all that much to be honest, but for the few sessions I have I used Dungeon Painter Studio. This seems to take things a step further than that! Only thing I'm worried about is fitting the map to a grid, like Roll20 has.
Can you not change the grid in r20?
CSP has a grid feature. You can also set up the image in units such as inches. That way the maps scale correctly
where is that in CSP?
Hey guys, This video will show you how to install, setup and prepare clip studio paint for map making with out brushes :) Get the Clip Studio Paint: https://...
Grid is in View menu
You "can" change the grid size in Roll20, but it's not easy, nor exact. Requires you to do math to figure out the percentage change to use. It's easier just make your maps and tokens in multiples of 70px.
🤔
Nothing's easy or exact in Roll20, just ask my DM. She's had plenty of trouble with updates messing things up 😅
The grid doesnt necessarily save in teh finished painting does it?
I'm so glad I don't use it
I did figure out the math once to have 1 pixel equal 1 foot and get a 5 px per square gird.
That said, is there a free version of CSP, and does it suffice for mapmaking, or do you have to pay to get anything decent out of it on that front?
@timid kiln no, but it goes on sale every so often
The grid doesn't save on the final map. It's mostly for aligning things
wait, maybe there is a free demo version
can't remember though
The pro version I picked up for like $30? I think? This was like, last year
Even if the grid stayed, there's a good chance it'd overlap with a Roll20 grid if everything's aligned correctly.
The license has like 3 uses
Yeah. I prefer using maps without grids because it's a pain in the butt to align.
Hmmm... Well, good to know anyway. I would have to consider if it's worth the investment, since I don't really run games too often....
You can always make the grid entirely invisible.
TBH, it was worth it for me since that free Photoshop CS2 kept bugging out on me, and I paint alot so...
There's an online photoshop like editor at photopea.com or you could use GIMP instead.
I wish I could paint/draw. I make a three year old's scribbles look like art compared to mine 😅
I think Kirita or something was a free alternative as well? It came really recommended but I've not had a chance to try it out
*Krita sorry
Yeah, it's free. Though seems the website is down
👍 its all a matter of practice and learning the basics
Fortunately, I have a sense of humour lying around somewhere....
https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code=kZlHO27ZSqRbcl91gTf9DvCFcrUWcXaWUx70
These are licensed under the creative commons license. These are assets created by and for the campaign cartographer community. Essentially they are textures.
That feel when I'm working on a commission but I wanna draw some character ideas °A°"
I kinda understand that feel, but in my case it when I want to create homebrew and just don't have the time.
And again, I wish I could have that dilemma. I've been using an image I plucked off of Google as a character portrait for a while now 😅
Always the trouble of "thing I need to do" and "thing my brain really wants to do"... I wish those lines crossed more often!
the thing I'm doing is just a bunch of intricate armour details and I'm just... I wanna render my Fire Genasi or that Draconic Sorceror I had an idea for @_@
How often do you guys make a draconic sorceror actually show more of their dragon stuff in thier physicality?
I know that feeling... probably every day
Oof, armor details-- I always get so bored when I start working on the tiny things, but I'm sure it'll look amazing when you're done
I've been playing for less than a year now, and I haven't played a sorceror yet, so I don't know.
I think it's neat when it's done. The draconic sorc I play with doesn't-- though he brings in the element he chose.
🤔
I play a Lizardfolk Pugilist, that's about as close as I can get, but it's not quite what you're asking for 😅
xD Cause I have an idea visually for a character but I dunno if it would be... okay? I guess? lmao
(super rough sketch from yesterday 😐 )
🤔 just I was looking around before and not many people were doing stuff like that haha
There's one "famous" example in Calianna from Critical Role, a guest's character that tied in the draconic stuff really heavily. I think it totally works, but everyone has their own opinions on it for sure
yeah, it seemed she was like, an exception among the art I poked around for Draconic Sorcerers for
Keep the most important part of character design in mind: It's your character. Whatever you're happy with is good enough.
I wouldn't overthink it. Just let it happen, basically. Eventually you'll have that spark that makes you go "Aww, yiss!"
I had that for a couple characters I've not had a chance to play though. They just seem so cool @_@
I've had several character concepts made about a year before I actually found a game I could play in, so I feel you 😅
What characters did you make then?
I have like.... 7 characters 'waiting in the wings' so to speak, but the ones I've developed most visually are a Fire Genasi Sorc, Water Genasi Cleric, Aasimar Cleric, and TiefBarbarian.
I feel like I've never seen someone play a Tiefling Barbarian before!
What are they like?
.3. I dont have a chance to play much right now cause I work overnight shifts on the weekend, and would rather play with my Fiance but we're in an LDR right now and we'd like to play face to face, you know?
She's like. Buff.
lemme find a sketch...
I keep on changing her horns :[
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Du28KPCUcAAwl_Y.jpg a work in progress on another computer I had haha
😲
it seems I can't upload pictures directly to discord here?
found an upload I did, xD this one was back in September https://66.media.tumblr.com/d338c96615a43baf56de9e52f57084ee/tumblr_pfpxrdPZRi1rsye3mo1_540.jpg then I changed her horns bu elsewise roughly the same
The broken horn is so aesthetic.
i knoooow
^ that.
but then I'm like, I kinda wanna do antlers too
but uuurgh I've drawn antlers before and they can be a little bit of a pain to draw
I’d love to talk more, but I really need sleep now 😅 Goodnight, and keep up the drawing, it’s amazing!
good night!
Night! 😃
Whoa! Where do they start at?
cold climes?
climate?
Ah.. well Zakhara, is mostly arid desert it is part of the Forgotten Realms and is meant to recreate the feel of central Asia, from the Levant to india. The Crowed Sea is full of jungle isles and the like.
i.e. Very hot and very humid
SUCCESS
Testing file uploading with a D20 I created in Illustrator last night. (It was trickier than you might think!)
Very nice!
@fresh dome whatcha gonna use that for?
Twitch layout refresh later this year. Since I caved in to Critical Role's pressure and got into tabletop RPGs again, D&D and TTRPGs in general have begun kind of dominating my content.
I haven't decided yet. Since it's Illustrator it'll be very easy to make variations in different colors and styles so I could use it for a number of things. Custom tip icon for the bit jar, notification graphic element, general part of the layout... all kinds of stuff. I'll probably end up doing some of the other die types too but the 20 seemed like the most tricky, so I tackled it first.
ooo I'm glad someone made and arts & crafts channel
👋 I've found a discord channel I might actually chat in!
Does this mean we get some @sacred shadow art!?
lul yes
I'm #hereforthis
hehehe
Subs already shared his kenku elsewhere 😄
I made this for jason but i can share heeeere
Sassy beholder!
I imagine it having a cliche mob boss voice
Definitely!
Yes!
Looks pretty darn good, I really like the model, too. Where did you get it?
Hero forge
Oooh
Some concept art of my DND character, Saphi Daxori! 💕
Oh, she's cute
omg so good
Thank you!
I have a spider I need to paint for one of my players beast companion. I'll post that when I'm done!
I am so here for albino tiefling. Such a look!!
Thank you so much omg
I love her
your tiefling look sos good!
Meet Bonnri Ironset, mountain dwarf gunslinger. birdy-the-artist on tumblr did an amazing job.
Her hair though!! Adorable!
😄
Fun fact: her family joke that she could have been switched with a gnome at birth, because despite being the eldest of her siblings, she's the shortest at 3'7".
Love it
so idk if this is the place for it, but i love sharing the little things i do to get further into my campaign! Bonnri occasionally sends letters home to her partner and son, and I ended up learning the dwarvish cipher to make it look a little more dwarvish
Whoa! Cool!
This was from very early on in the campaign. I've since downloaded a font so I can type these things
it makes it a little less authentic but typing them makes preparing her letters a lot easier
@sacred shadow that beholder looks kinda lewd °A°"
Thisis the last tabletop commission I had done - friend of mine wanted a lean Goliath in a high school gangster uniform xD
I'm working on an Elder Scrolls one at the moment (hence the intricate armour @_@ @agile rock )
@merry steeple oh nooooo 😅
😭
@dusty flint 😮 whats the story behind this?
So, our firbolg found this giant hollowed out tree that a hag was using for a home. Turns out it was burnt out and very dead, and for reasons that we do not yet know, it angered him greatly. So he set the tree on fire and tried to kill the hag. We had to turn on him to stop him from killing her. And once the hag had escaped, he fell to his knees in front of the tree and watched it burn. And all we could do was watch it burn with him
That's the cliffs notes of the story. There's a lot more to the full story behind it which partainns to a lot of backstory stuff for our firbolg
;3; thank you @agile rock it takes me too long to do, I need to reduce the amount of strokes I do since I paint almost everything on a single layer
Some of the tokens I made for use on virtual tabletops. They're made using Photoshop with images from Pinterest and token frames from the Roll20 Marketplace
Those are awesome. 💯
wow
Wow, these are great.
nice
Is that an elf version of Vergil? That's awesome and these roll20 icons are fantastic, make me want to make characters just to use them.
In order, they're a Shadow Monk / Moon Druid, Bladesinger, Divination Wizard, Shadow Sorcerer, Life Cleric / Shepherd Druid
I love that one if those is just Virgil from DMC3.
I used your mask-witch one for one of my chars, Sorsha. I even made a homebrew spell inspired by it.
It's actually the scarlet witch from Marvel 😉
Really?
Oh, I meant from the thread on the forums, purple robes, lots of masks floating.
Ah, the Witch of a Thousand Faces
https://www.deviantart.com/necrotechno/art/The-Witch-of-a-Thousand-Faces-537233583
That be the one.
They made another one: https://www.deviantart.com/necrotechno/art/Witch-trying-out-her-new-ice-staff-by-SKTneh-662868307
Looks like that'd be a really cool Warlock Patron...
Made a divination wizard with it - she also has a familiar, a crow named Byrne (crow in gaelic).
The artwork is inspiring.
Yep, she had it 😃
I appreciate these things. Over 30 and I still struggle just making stickmen. Is there such a thing as graphic-dyslexia? I unimaginably suck at graphics. So, very thankful for the inspiration of artists and putting the faces they make formy chars.
I know I posted it before, but I want to give a bit of a background on my human sorcerer.
Her name is Revir Giadro. She was born, or rather hatched, over 200 years ago as a silver dragon. She was always kind and met with scholars and traders in the years as her hoard grew. 15 years ago, a pair of powerful wizards gained her trust and became good friends. On one faithful night, they sprung their trap. The pair betrayed her trust and cast a spell changing her true form into that of a young human child, and altered her memories into thinking that her true memories were a vivid dream. The wizards took her into their care, "raising" her as their own child. Revir grew into a young teen, and her sleeping dragon magic started seeping to the surface. Her dracoinc magics were uncontrollable, and she started her training to learn how to control her power. With the help of a family friend, he taught her how to wrangle her power, however, she had come down with a magical malady, and she was taken to be cured without her "parents" knowledge. The greater restoration spell removed the magical mental blocks and Revir remembered who she was. She returned home, took all of her belongings and left, leaving a note to her "parents" that she was leaving, and she would see them again when she returned to her true form.
my DM "screen" (relevant to #dnd-discussion current convo)
Painting minis is so cool @_@ i kinda wanna try and sculpt minia from scratch but aaah
I've been dabbling in the creation of magic items recently, with this as the result.
It's the 'Ring of Grandeur', a homebrew magic item which can be found here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/446620-perquins-ring-of-grandeur
CCC-RPSG-01 Ooze There - Bakery Map (18x15)
CCC-RPSG-01 Ooze There - Rolling in the Deep (21x20)
CCC-RPSG-01 Ooze There - The Forgotten Fane (22x27)
Ooooh, Jason would be impressed with those maps. Better than what I made for when I ran it on Roll20
Making some NPCs for my next campaign
Totally gunna have to make some maps for my daughter's birthday game. Yup... that settles it. Gunna use the plotter at work and print out some dungeon painter maps. 😄
@wraith pumice SO CUTE.
Thanks 😄
@gusty sage Those roll20 icons made with Photoshop are super well made. I like em a lot!
Thanks 😃
I actually use Affinity Photo Editor. It's very much like Photoshop, but cheaper and similarly powerful. I think it does some things better.
Oh, awesome! I use Affinity Designer, but haven't picked up the Photo Editor. I've heard great things about it.
And honestly, yeah. There needed to be a better option than paying for Adobe's expensive CC subscription scheme. It's not affordable for anyone on their own.
I'm impressed those were made with it and really intrigued now, heh
I got Photoshop through work, but still like Affinity
That's definitely a compliment to Affinity
Although, I can't take all the credit for that art. The frames come from Roll20 market place and the characters from pinterest.
😊
Dwarvish letter in prep for tonight's game! (I do have a Common translation! Haha)
Hang on, let me put on my Dwarvish reading glasses
Please do. It would be nice to be assured that I downloaded the right cipher 😛
DDEX01-06 The Scroll Thief - Spillway (16x20)
DDEX01-06 The Scroll Thief - The Dragon's Swamp (22x26)
Since we're sharing maps, I enjoy messing around in Illustrator so for my Waterdeep Dragon Heist game I create custom versions of the maps for myself and my players. This is the first level of Trollskull Manor.
I made these with Dungeon Painter Studio for a one-shot I ran. Since the players, depending on their choices, would come across it in either day or night, I created two versions. They're fitted for Roll20.
I love DPS
As do I. I wish it'd be a little better organized though. I still have to make time to sort my assets, since they're all over the place atm 😅
Badge for a project I'm working on
Tried a more still murky water for the swamp
Makes it waaay harder to see the logs.
@gusty sage What'd you use to make the sewer tiles?>
Cool stuff
@timid kiln u should add shadows to ur Bush and long shadow to ur bank
Bush?
Also, I just added darkened some of the sand around the water to simulate wet sand. It gave the islands a bit of depth. I'll upload the complete image soon
Here's the updated image with some damp sand near the water and some foliage
@gusty sage remind me the next time I run AL online to borrow ALL your maps 😃
😃
@gusty sage You make those maps?
Yes
Neat. The maps in AL (back when I played) were always very basic and lacklustre. Your maps would've made the experience better.
Is there something like Dungeon Painter Studio that doesn't require Flash and runs on MacOS?
The downside of Clip Studio Paint
o_0
must be a lot of layers there eh @gusty sage
A decent number. But I think a PSD file with the same number of layers might be only 5% that size.
Not all of those are subraces.
Some of those are just descriptions of an earlier section.
then they shouldn't be in the subrace category
For instance, Elves of Valenar talk about both Valenar High Elves and Valenar Wood Elves.
What? They are all subraces. Which ones aren't?
I'll post a better visual.
This is a portrait I had commissioned of my Tiefling Rogue Swashbuckler Bel https://twitter.com/AustenMarieTV/status/1070103317651447809
Some are variants of the same subrace, but wrong channel for this
Agreed
Just finished this token for a Hexblade Archer
Nice. I both like and dislike fancy borders.
The details make the tokens look messy at normal or zoomed out ranges.
Oh nice
Those tokens are so cool, Sillvva. Quality manips and smooth cuts on the overlays. 👌🏻
Manips?
This is my Gnome Druid ~ Circle of the Spores:
Aww
And this is his awakened symbiote form:
The DM let me flavor the wild shape as taking the form of a medium sized myconid.
Also will be roleplaying them as two entirely different personalities, voices, and such.
My Monday night DM is pretty damn awesome. So glad he allowed both my wife and I to join his first foray into online DM'ing.
If you met my druid, you wouldn't say awww, lol. He's a crabby old gnome that prefers the quiet speechless company of myconids to that of anyone else.
This is my druid, Togari in a nutshell:
heh
@hearty drum Pretty sure that word and concept is against the ToS of the server.
What word?
Sheep.
Why can’t you say sheep
Chaotic.
Why can’t you say chaotic
Homebrew wand
Wow very nice. I like it.
I composed some music for a homebrew adventure that I wrote. It was apart of a final assessment I did for my bachelor of music where I was attempting to create dynamic music that changed depending on the paths the players took or the outcome of their actions.
Here's the link to the SoundCloud playlist. I really enjoy writing music inspired by D&D.
https://soundcloud.com/andromeda7music/sets/music-for-dungeons-and-dragons
Music I created for a home-brew adventure called The Lost Children.
The Music was created during my last semester and for my final project and completion of my Bachelor of music Composition and Music
These are really good. I think Ashdale is my favorite.
LOL It's mine too!
The artwork is my poor attempt at cartography but it shows the town and the forest next to it.
Oh nice you made the map too.
thanks
@noble thunder When you say the music would dynamically change depending on the decisions of the player, what exactly do you mean? Like, is this algorithmic music?
@azure cradle
I had made a text story game in a program called Twine2. For some of the tracks there would be just two variations i.e. One where the player triggered the trap and the other where the players found and avoided the trap.
What I have yet to upload was the battle music for the final encounter as it contained different layers and different versions of the same layer that were suppose to change each round depending on how the DM felt the combat was going for the players. I.e. moving in a positive way or a negative way. But also increasing or decreasing in intensity. So 3 levels of intensity ie 6 stages. 7 if you include the intro to it and 10 if you include the possible end outcome. Victory Defeat or bitter sweet( i.e. ending in fatality's or having to flee)
I hope that answers your question
Okay. For the non-musically inclined, it sounds like each track was a collective of pieces that would shift and move according to criteria based on party actions.
^^ exactly
If I understand that correctly, that's pretty dang cool.
That’s is really cool.
my poor teacher got to listen to me explain and talk non stop about D&D for 11 weeks it was great
I had a social psych professor who had to endure the same from me!
It's the ultimate story telling device! when you look at other forms of multi media story telling like Tv, theatre and movies , Video Games are the only thing that come close to creating the illusion that the players are impacting the story but with Table Top Games the DM willing, It truly lets the players impact on the story. It was so much fun to experiment with different methods of getting the music to accommodate for the possibilities.
A tourism brochure for a version of Carradoon set 300 years from the building of Spirit Soaring
lil papercraft backpacks with some item/spell cards in them
💯
Oh wow
the full map of the reimagined Carradoon, too. used https://watabou.itch.io/medieval-fantasy-city-generator and then did a lot of post-prod editing
highly recommend that generator, it's awesome
thanks for the link that generator looks awesome? @vast harbor How did you make the spell card pockets? they are soo cute!
Oh my bad, should have given credit right away ! This is from an artist - here - http://www.r-n-w.net/play/equipment-packs-the-full-set - def not original from me. The pamphlet was my work with some help from a crest generator and some free assets.
All good items cards like this would be insanely helpful for my group tho I have yet to find ones I like. These looks good.
https://twitter.com/eiramhachi/status/1092067709179887627?s=20 hahaha this is fantastic
I really want this t-shirt.
https://funnyt-shirt.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/s-2295.jpg
I wonder if I could make the design myself somewhere in Aus so it's actually affordable.
That's funny @crisp sun . What's the source of that, are there more?
I don't get it.
The helmet made him a better deal maker
This is super cool, if anyone's into making b+w old school RPG zines: https://creators.kickstarter.com/zine-quest-rpg-zines-2019
Just cut my 761 MB file for the swamp map to 232 MB without any loss of quality... apparently Clip Studio Paint saves a bunch of useless information.
That's a massive amount of information...
Has anyone here used Filter Forge to make assets?
Someone else cut one from 1.88 GB to 386 MB
My friend had a map she was working on up to over 10 gig.... it went down significantly when she merged layers.
Yeah, I didn't even have to merge layers. CSP has a button in the edit menu to change image resolution. Just hit Ok without changing anything and the size cuts drastically.
You can check out her stuff
https://www.zovyarpg.com/
Nice! They look really good
She does great work.
I like the PDF she's working on. The previews of it she's given me look amazing.
Also if anyone is looking for character portraits, do a google image search for "Baldur's Gate Portraits"
Preview of my next map
Awesome @gusty sage
If I need maps... could I commission you
Got a few adventures going out this fall, will need some maps done
That looks like Fire, Ash, and Ruin @gusty sage
nods
I can do commissions if any of you want. Just send me a PM :)
Very pumped for this channel!
Jester from Critical Role!
DysonLogos just posted another fantastic map in his D&D Beyond thread; the Strange Ruins at Karst Ford.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/arts-crafts/15918-i-draw-share-the-occasional-d-d-map?comment=132
Hi. I'm Dyson, and I'm mostly known for my maps.
You may have run across a few of them in various RPG adventures, such as the official Xanathar's Guide intr...
I love how they worked "Dyson" into the ruins' layout.
A strange ruin indeed!
@willow violet that's a cute Jester!!! So nice :)
Thank you!
that looks extremely professional, a boardroom D&D screen
Awesome!!! What materials did you used?
i<3 the look of the one matt uses on critical role, was that made by wyrmwood ?
@honest stratus yes, his new one is made by wyrmwood
@spring plaza I used 4 9X12 canvas panel boards, gorilla tape, and 6 clear pockets
I left some space between each canvas board and used the tape as the hinge.
That's a very good solution!! I was thinking on making one using leather and hard cardboard.
Stay tuned for a cool Dyson-related DDB thing.
Dyson, as in the map dude?
That's intriguing. I've become a real fan of his maps, and really appreciate his ongoing thread on D&D Beyond.
Dyson fans are a lie! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEaUHrIuWCI
Bladeless fans can look like magic. How does all that air come out of that empty ring?! Well, it turns out that bladeless fans are more like a conventional f...
Maybe Badeye is going to release a DDB Dyson hairdryer - i hear those things are amazing
dont need one here in SG, but will when i get back home
@crisp sun That cartoon reminds me of my favorite moment in The Adventure Zone.
I love it so much!!! I’m a huge fan of different playstyles being represented, and having a family play together was just so...wholesome. And then, without ever being cheesy, they managed to tell one of the most compelling, moving, funny, and emotionally satisfying stories I’ve heard/read in ANY medium.
I’m a HUGE fan of how they took the game and made it their own, not beholden to a traditional medieval fantasy setting in any way.
I ran across this, while I don't agree with all the items, and there are of course more that can be added, I feel like it would be appreciated around here: https://imgur.com/gallery/KSVVsWj
@alpine folio so true! It's extremely wholesome and I'm always surprised with the cliffhangers and surprises they seem to spring into the show. And I didn't even know if was a family playing until much later into the series ! 🤣
Not sure if this is worth sharing here but
I experienced my first ever D&D fight using actual pieces and materials. It's a bit silly and all for the experienced but this made my week 😊
I have a pretty good tip for such
A DM I played with for a one-off.. used gift-wrapping paper for maps and dungeons!
It even has one-inch-squares already on it!
(on the backside, of course)
And I'd imagine it's a bit cheaper than most DM grid-sheets
It's far less durable though, and gets more expensive after you have to buy new rolls regularly.
Plus if you make a mistake you can't erase it and correct.
Well it was just for a one-off game (holiday themed, so fitting)
we got to murder a robot santa
Yeah, I too miss Futurama.
It ended on a good note, didn't overstay its welcome
A good show to watch, that seems to have a similar, but still unique tone, is Final Space
@grim ivy awezome tip!
no prob
I'm not terribly familiar with 3D printing but this looks pretty good: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1679800548/dragonlocktm-3d-printable-miniatures
@spring plaza you should check out Wonderdraft
I wanted to like Wonderdraft. Then I discovered that it only works on MacOS through Wine 😦
@gusty sage I'll check It, Thanks!
im going to be getting a 3D printer soonish... getting pretty excited to make that Lock Terrain
That writing in your map, is it a font or is this something you've made yourself @gusty sage
It's from a map in an Adventurers League module. I'm basically remaking it with Forgotten Adventures assets and a few other things
All of that will be excluded from the final version and replaced
Have you checked out the stuff from https://dungeonarts.com/
I have some of their assets, and use them occasionally
I try to stick to FA assets as much as I can
I'm still learning CC3 which comes with a lot of its own assets, some of them are awesome some of them are in a style I don't really like
CC3 scares me and my puny brain 😦
It's a pretty intimidating software, but I find it works better for me than raster graphic editors.
Ahhhhh, that map is looking amazing
Hey @gusty sage, that's some really well done stuff
Ever considered pairing up with a content writer and preparing some one shot dungeons for people?
Not really, no. But thanks 😃
I do it more as a hobby on the side in my free time, among other things
Made some quick papercraft minis for our Ravnica game
That elephant is adorable
Very nice, if I had any ability to draw I could use that inspiration.
I figure that some quick papercraft minis are good for NPCs / characters that won’t be appearing as much
Made a bunch of Flux Changers for our Ravnica game tonight
Some look happy. 😃 Some look sad 😦 One looks like its seen some things 😱
Here's my WIP world, each hex here is 360 miles (or 6 continent-scale hexes)
And here's my software, though not maximized as I normally use it, for @sleek salmon and others interested
I saw @flint ridge summon me in another channel regarding mapping. As he mentioned, I use Illustrator, but it's not the cheapest or easiest solution for all people.
Level 1, Trollskull Manor
Upper Level, Zhentarim Hideout
I haven't yet tried any sort of terrain mapping, just interiors with minimal exterior bits.
Nice
This was the thing I was talking about: https://www.patreon.com/posts/grass-road-24058353
I can't seem to find it but does anyone know of a tool to "write" your own homebrew content that still looks like its vanilla printed content?
gmbinder
I used to know it but lost my links
Gmbindee
Homebrewery is great.
Homebrewery is 1000% what I was looking for @alpine folio
You'll want this as well
I was considering preparing my own simple One-Shot adventures 😊
just kinda practice as a DM
Awesome!
gmbinder is better than hombrewery.
I personally prefer gmbinder as well
You can change the background layouts for the pages
And the cloudmanagement is better imo
I’ve had mixed results with it—it’s crashed on me quite a few times. But if they’ve stabilized it since I last used it, it’s a great concept.
I dont know but it sounds like I will need to try both haha
I am a newbie to DMing but not a newbie to acting, roleplaying, etc
plus this lets me express my more poetic side 😄
Btw, @dry radish , that source you shared is amazing
|| I will advise: Homebrewery has been abandoned, and it's a question of how long it will stay up. If you choose to use Homebrewery, make sure you save a back-up of your work somewhere! || I missed the news. 😉
Bum.
When did homebrewery get abandoned?
Well over a year ago.
For all we know it could still remain up for years, but it could also go down anytime, it's just impossible to know. 😦
Stolksdorf is still posting on reddit, as recently as yesterday.
Surprised because I saw things that still used it’s style. Which tended to be a red flag since they never had OCR when I saw those things on the DM’s Guild.
Maybe they came back? The last I had heard (a couple months ago) it was still abandoned.
Or someone replicated it’s style.
Ah, looks like they came back in August of last year! So scratch what I said. They were gone for a year a few months with no communication.
Rumours of Stolksdorf's demise are greatly exaggerated https://www.reddit.com/user/Thurse
April 2017 -> August 2018 Homebrewery was left unattended.
I'm happy to see that I was wrong!
The dice I've picked out for tomorrow's game! Complete with an extra d20 and an extra d10 for advantage and critical hits with Bonnri's pistol.
https://imgur.com/a/akdFrpc some dice bags i've knitted. The first one in the album was for our recent Curse Secret Santa exchange, and I filled it with a really cool black and purple metal polyhedral set
Very cool!
Did you draw these?
I didn't draw them. I used frames from the Roll20 marketplace and character images from Pinterest.
Ahh, still they look dope!
I got my flaming ember dice for my Forge Cleric! 😄 (her artwork is in the second photo) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtjwoYDBEtE/
The world I'm making for my game. suggestions?
Looks good @stone slate ! Only thing was maybe the borders follow natural landscape bits, like curving around the border of the lake or something, easily allow early travelers know that "hey, youre crossing a border" if theres not like, wall or fence or something there
like
its my 2 cents but otherwise looks good
@stone slate What's the scale of play? Are adventurers likely to criss cross the lands regular or zero in on a region?
I ask because that's a huge factor in what's next when you have a good map started (like yours).
one of my player's Evocation Wizard meeting his first character the Totem Barbarian 😃 ((I HAVE A LOT OF COMMISSIONED ART of my group if people ever want to see;) ))
well gifts were brought up in general chat, this is the xmas gift i got for all seven players. Their characters, their companions and in game spouses/children 😃
That is so cool! Tell us a bit more about them.
oh this is good
haha sure! SO the two at the bar are Kvothe and Thrugah 'Jean' Urgel. Kvothe is a PC Oread monk, he built this bar (The Rope's End). Thrugah is his companion and bartender.
The blonde and the lion are... Zyian the Aasimar/Elf Paladin/Swordmage and his Half-Celestial Dire Lion mount/companion Lady Veshj.
The three at the table are: Zyn the Drow Samurai (PC), his wife Zyglplyx, a Triton Druid and also a Duchess, their eldest daughter Zyllin.
The three up front are all PC's. Spliff Mcneely- Human wizard, and self proclaimed Master of the Arcane, LORD OF THE INEVITABLES as he likes to declare. Griff the Fetchling Summoner (the creepy one in the mask 😉 ) and Burz Grimmum the Ex-Paladin turned Cleric of Jamal (a half orc)
the dancing pair are Aybara (PC) the human barbarian and his Goblin Ranger wife Marie Gelp.
The wolf is Aybara's animal companion and mount Fang.
Clamouring over the dog are all four of Aybara and Marie's children: Brook, Ash, Ore and Meadow.
And another Half-drow/triton, the younger of the twins Fishynwill.
up in the rafters there is Chateruse the Ratfolk Summoner (Griff's Companion and Headmistress of the Arcane Academy he founded) sitting on her two headed snake Eidolon Vic-Tor. and beside her is Spliff's Tiefling Daughter Sheeve Mcneely (THAT WHOLE relationship is a massive can of worms)
phew i think that's everyone. Sorry, there's a lot to unpack in the picture ^^;
What a good idea to share commissions, I'd love to share the ones I've gotten of my group.
Each of the following commissions were done by Caio Santos, whose Twitter handle is @BlackSalander
New map I made!
This first one is related to the earth genasi druid PC.
das a nice map! @wicked void
Middle-aged now, he still holds on to the memory of what his father would tell him of the circumstances of his birth. That his mother was something beyond the mortal realm, and was only briefly a part of their world.
Part of his personal quest is to someday meet her, find out more about his heritage and fully understand who he is.
The artwork depicts her in her natural state, within the elemental plane of earth.
it's some cool art. 😃 I really like the scale of it. and the use of color. I'm a sucker for vibrant splashes of color splattered into a work -3-
Each of my commissions was in that style, it works really well.
that's awesome 😃 we have a few different artists we comm from but most of our comms are in a sketch style the first picture i shared was in. artists sketch prices are usually what fall into our budgets haha. It's a really cool style!
Another one. I guess I’ll post some stuff I’ve made for my campaign!
ohhh that's so pretty
Very nice.
AHHHHHHH i wish i had maps like that for my setting D: i'm really bad at drawing maps >.<
same
I've been using tools to create maps.
Also I sketched my cowgirl/witch character Lucy
that's awesome
And commissioned a few drawings of her from CherriFaerie
i've been drawing continents out by hand as i need them D:
oh yeah?
these comms are great -3-
Here's the last commission I'll post for now. This is art of the god of my zealot barbarian. He's a mix of Celtic and N.American myths, with a strong raven and wild hunt theme.
that's super cool Conn 😄
is that a corvid skull hes got for a helmet?
I never get to be a pc so i get art of my npcs -3-
Yes it is. Bit of artistic license on behalf of the artist, but I love it.
i made some art of my friends' characters
This is all artwork of the PCs that I DM. Bit of a gift for both of us, since I feel like the whole thing is my character.
this is my friends' PCs Ayame the warlock and Nyaegi the bard playing shogi
a really quick sketch
Sadly, he's not taking commissions at this time. I'd done artwork for the aarakocra ranger (my favorite of the bunch too), but now that character's dead and replaced.
I'd gladly pay for another piece of the new character.
i'd love to commission more art honestly but i'm already commissioning some right now haha
i'm sort of addicted to commissioning lol
I spent WAY Too much on that 21 person group shot
oh man
but like in terms of how much money i have/make it was alot
took me a few months to pay off.
those can run really up there
I also do 32x32 pixel icon commissions
I've got a few examples I've made for friends' characters
this one was commissioned by one of my sister's friends
ohhh that so gooooood
they're the perfect size for discord emojis
i love pixel stuff
that's so cool !
this is about the only drawing I ever do in session myself haha.
it's the gems on a special dagger one of the players has.
its something!
it is 😃 the problem is every three killing blows the gems change -3-
so i get to draw different gem shapes fairly often haha
i also commissioned redji from Charmmoo on twitter
pretty much all the art we have is character sketches! BUT! I have one special piece i had done a while ago let me hunt it down.
ooh i'm interested in seeing
I give you Tartarus- the no man's land separating the nine hells from the 3 circles of the abyss 😄
oh my god that's incredible
yeah one sec i'll get the artist -3-
it is!!!! LIKE one of my top...5 favorite npc's I've ever made and roleplayed lives there!
wow
his name is Wyatt. He's a living skeleton.
He was a human, got cursed by some bad, god magic juju and ended up getting stuck in Tartarus
and he's just been...spending his undeath there. Killing and demon or devil that wanders too close
that reminds me of a character in my father's d&d campaign
the players LOVED him and they recently did some time-line hopping and got to meet him when he was alive and living on the planet.
you know of the lord of blades in eberron?
VAGUELY my eberron knowledge is...hazy at best.
well anyway in my father's campaign i play a warforged
https://www.deviantart.com/banzz did the landscape.
who unbeknownst to them is the basis of a whole batch
oh i'l save that link
a whole batch of warforged were based on Mender, which is my character
Mender, before they lost their memory, was a revolutionary who tried to get warforged to revolt
but the king decided that was too dangerous so they nuked the whole army
mender's best friend became the lord of blades and when they died, got stuck in the underworld and was only able to access the world through Mender because of a psychic link
that sounds like a lot of fun -3- i've always enjoyed eberron as a setting, but never played there. only read novels.
The lord of blades has this huge tree made of blades that they stick people responsible for the warforged genocide on in the underworld
and so whenever the party was close to someone involved in the event, they mysteriously died and we learned it was through mender so mender felt kind of bad
anyway i've got a commission of mender here too
here they are holding a staff of healing
them cheeeeeeks
we use an artist named Rahmad (manowolves on deviant art) alot, his price is like perfect in my groups budget.
ohhh so cute
yeah she has high cheekbones
oh man that's nice
with his -very- expensive fake moustache
awesome! 😃
never watched much jojo
oh! I just remembered i do have art of the last PC i played
http://zoey-and-dakota.tumblr.com/ did this for me! Ravarian 'Starburner' Solbot my Android ❤
I loved playing Rav ❤
i love playing lucy
i also drew her as an opossum lmao
because they both love garbage
Got some really good commissions of a couple of my characters Mosin Enfield, the Half Orc Champion and Ceridian the Centaur Battle Master & his wife Sisul from https://mobile.twitter.com/caitlinc37?lang=en
Yeah, I absolutely love the artists style.
I redesigned my first dnd5e character I made back when it was still called D&D Next.
Is there any kind of bot that can help make Discord wiki-like? Or maybe help organising groups with calendar events and invites? I really wanna ditch Facebook.
What exactly do you mean wiki-like?
Our Aasimar/Elf Paladin/Swordmage Zyian by Sidddraws on tumblr
Did some painting recently -3-
jeeebuz, that's scary as hell already
He def turned out pretty okay 😃
my groups first group shot 😃
Totally not a menacing looking group ._.
SOME of them use the term 'hero' VERY loosely
Griff and Spliff are more anti-heroes.
I mean adventurers aren't always heroes 😉
very true 😛
Here's another art that I had commissioned. This one was for our aarakocra ranger, recently deceased. He was part of a Harper like organization that protected the portal at the center of his civilization.
ohhh that's pretty

I'll have pictures ready at some point but I'm preparing my own D&D Tabletop setup in Tabletop Aim 😊
Sim*
So, I have all these tokens and tiles from 2-Minute Tabletop. I was intending on using them in GIMP but if there is an easier way to build maps with these assets, I'm all ears.
Dungeon Painter?
Requires Flash so not an option.
The steam version does?
Steam version is Windows only so, again, not an option.
I probably should've mentioned, Mac only.
Ah, in that case, no idea. GIMP or other programs like that are all I know.
Worldographer is what I use, comes with a demo version, even has a Java version if you prefer for some reason. http://worldographer.com/download/ there is a city/town upgrade available and in March it's getting a dungeon upgrade.
Aasimar sword mage from my pathfinder campaign =3=
art by manowolves on deviant art. dudes awesome
A watercolor painting i've been working on today. Still on process.
Holy shit, that looks insane man, keep it up!
yo that is badass
Well after 40 mins got the full rough draft of my D&D world done completely and ready to make it in wonderdraft what ya all think?
Seems quite big! I wonder what geographical features are gonna be on it.
I found a nice way to fill out maps
is to do little texturing to show areas that are mountains, cliffs, swamps, forests, etc
give the world a more organic feel
As far as maps go I’m a fan of Inkarnate, if no one has mentioned that yet. I use that for all my outdoor spaces and Dungeon Painter for indoor.
Inkarnate's nice.
I use Dungeon Painter as well, but only for combat maps now.
It was fun designing cities and such, but realistically, it's a lot of work for something that's only going to have a slight bit of it used.
Wonderdraft seems interesting, but I'm sticking to my CC3
I personally use Azgaar’s Fantasy Map Generator for world maps
And even smaller scale maps
As an example, my current game’s continent
Setup for today's lvl 18 game where the players fight an ancient undead dragon paladin
Dragon took several days to paint
Game for the lovely @twilit nova
Nice!
💯
Time to organise!
This little one is done!
that looks really good
Woooooah!
What is that? It looks digital, but still physical.
That is, the grid. The trees are very nice.
Is that a product or something you made yourself?
@wicked yoke I think its TableTop Simulator. Really immersive to run a game in .
Oh, yeah, that makes sense.
The grid is a bit off given I am using the One World system
but I am putting together a custom One World Lost Mine of Phandelver and will be running it multiple times as a "One Shot" through here to practice my DM skills 😉
but yep, @lusty stirrup is right. Its TTS. And truly really awesome but I just wish we had a way to use DnD Beyond in it without having to use Tablets
Tablets are expensive in memory usage
Very nice. Yeah, that program has a lot of functionality I've never explored, but nice to see it in action.
Invites might be going out maybe next weekend
this will take some time, but I will have progress pics!
Ooooh that looks lovely
oh WOW
TTS takes forever to setup though, right? Ive always been interested but literally have zero time
If you want to set it up that extensively, I'm sure it does.
If you just want to have an image on the table, some minis and dice, it takes maybe 20 minutes the first time, then just a couple minutes each session after.
That's the thing. If Im going to do something, it has to be amazing. So yeah, I'd want the full setup.
Fair
That's the exact same rationale I use for doing nothing and staying at home in my underwear!
Setup for running Tomb of Horrors earlier today
And my setup from running it last year as an anti-Superbowl party. So sad I am seeking that house...
In mapmaking parlance, what is the term used for various embellishments like crystals, scuff marks, mushroom patches, etc. that add atmosphere but don't really define the map in any strategic manner?
I'd say map features
@dry radish Cartouche is possibly what you're looking for, but that's a specific kind of embellishment. I think embellishment works just fine for general purpose. "Terra incognita" would be the term for unknown parts of maps that are filled in with sea serpents or the old "here be dragons" text.
Hmm, I know there's a term for it but just can't remember what it is and none of those are what I'm after.
I'd just think of them as decorative elements or aesthetic elements, but I doubt that's the specific official term.
I really just don't have a brain suited to understanding graphics programs 😦
I swear this used to be easier twenty years ago.
Is it too much to ask for a simple battlemap making program?
I guess so
