ok
How do I change the number of spells and spell slots a Homebrew Spellcasting subclass would have I set it too full caster and it still only gives at 4th level 4 1st level spells and 2 cantrips?
Neither of those are currently available to change in the homebrew system. It’s all hard-coded into the site itself.
You can add spells that don’t count against their spells known, though.
But ultimately it follows the official spellcasting rules for whichever class you chose.
You can change your name through your Discord settings. Make sure to follow the server rules on names here or the mods may ask you to change it (needs to be clear, no weird fonts, and not-offensive to others).
I am having great difficulties in making a magical item, well modifying a magical item I already made, who works fine. Can someone here help me look at it? Even if I just add one spell, it seems to break. I do not understand what I do wrong?
We have a channel for that #homebrew
If you can't see that channel, head to #880965682462875679 and select the appropriate role
i meant on D&D Beyond. Sorry for not clarifying
Okay for that I think you need to reach out to DnDBeyond support (http://support.dndbeyond.com/) and create a ticket.
No, no support ticket needed
There's a thread
Hello Adventurers!
Need your display name changed? You've come to the right place! Please post here and we will give your account a nickname cred...
Oh hey! Sorry didn't know about that!
So. We’re setting up an online group to play Dragon of Icespire Peak but need help. How do you set up/import the game maps for encounters and combat etc? What is the best system to use? And is there a “how to” guide? I’ve been told to use Roll20 or DND Beyond but need a bit of hand-holding to get things set up. Thanks!
This might be better in #dm-discussion
This article can walk you through the basics of DDB:

FoundryVTT is better with D&D Beyond.
There was a tweet earlier confirming no update
Happy Thursday Beyonders - No Dev Update today, but we will be back next week! https://t.co/0iUDdlk4LD
im trying to make a homebrew magic item for a campaign but i dont know how i can make it into an action
when i try to add it to their inventory it says the amount of charges but it doesnt show up in actions or anythin
Hello! I have a question regarding the subscriptions. Do any of them provide access to the books or will you still have to buy them separately?
subscriptions have never given you access to content.
Subscriptions do not provide access to books. Subscriptions unlock unlimited character slots, access to additional tools/more slots on currently available tools, ability to add homebrew to your own collections.
Alright. Thank you for the answer.
You could never upset me Davyd...
Challenge accepted
Side note - we easily get 25+ tickets a day regarding renames, its actually one of the most popular ticket categories
But yes, the wonderful forum mods can issue nickname credits and then a user can update their own nickname - yay self service!
For advice on how, I have a list ready :P
How do I add a spell table for a homebrew subclass?
Quick question: if there is a spell that I have access to but not own due to campaign sharing, and I want to add it to a class that normally wouldn’t get it, is there any way to do that (as I obviously can’t homebrew it)?
You might be able to set things up as a choice of spells. Then when you’re in the campaign and choosing the spell, that one should be available.
But to reference the spell directly, you’d need to own it yourself.
So an alternative, you could ask the person who does own it to create that homebrew. It’ll get shared with the campaign automatically.
i have a question about the sharpshooter feat: the -5 penalty is to the attack bonus, or the final result of the roll?
You want #dnd-rules, this channel is for getting help using the site
I am having issues purchasing books,
Keeps saying:
Transaction Declined: Fraud Suspected
All of my information is correct
No red flags from my CC company
Any Fraud notice comes from the card or bank - so i'd recommend following up with them or using a different payment method.
how can i join people's campaigns?
You contact the DM who’s running the campaign.
If they use DnDBeyond campaign system the DM of the campaign can send you a link to the campaign and as you visit that link you’ll be prompted to pick a character to add to the campaign.
Do you know any for like someone that doesn't know how to really play?
Check the #looking-for-players and direct message a poster there that has a game that works best for you.
Most groups are pretty accommodating of new players.
ok Ty
I'm browsing my Eberron book on DDB right now and most of the images are broken.
So when books get an update in the mobile app, where can I go to see what the updates are for?
Currently there isn't an update list, but it's usually just the application of errata, fixing of bugs, and tweaking of formatting
Okies
I had a quick look and can't see any issues - can you give me an example or a screenshot please, so I can see where you're seeing this?
Looks mostly fixed but I still see this:
Also this just keeps going and never resolves.
Also this:
I'm not having that issue so I assume it has to do with cookies
likely. try deleting cookies for DDB
Did it. Nothing.
Maybe try redownloading the material? Maybe it's a bad cache?
How?
Clear your cache, log out, close the browser fully
Then relaunch and load up the site; it'll be forced to download all site data anew
quick question, where do i find info on obtaining more sorcerous origins
or even homebrew, if possible
You need to do one of the following:
- Purchase the book that contains the Sorcerer subclass you want
- Purchase the subclass individually
- Join a campaign with content sharing enabled with someone who owns the content you want to use
- Use the homebrew tools to copy the option into D&D Beyond for personal use only
WAIT ITS A SUBCLASS!?
Here’s a full list of the official ones, and what books they’re in (as shown in the mobile app):
Yes, sorcerous origins is the sorcerer name for subclasses
ok then thank you so much
Wizards have arcane traditions, barbarian have paths, druids have circles, paladins have oaths etc
Is there anyway on Beyond to search for a specific page in a book? Or does one have to just find chapter containing what’s being looked for?
There isn’t, primarily because page numbers can change between print editions which makes that difficult.
Ok. That makes sense. Thanks!
How do I buy the artificer
Purchase one of its subclasses (Alchemist, Armorer, Artillerist, or Battle Smith) from here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/sourcebooks/tashas-cauldron-of-everything
So I shared my content with my daughter can she access it from the mobile app?
Yes
So she can download the books like I can or does she need to be online?
Hello, was hoping someone here could provide me with a bit of help. I signed up for Beyond and have bought several books (PHB, DMG, Xanathar's, EE, Sword Coast). I was using that account to make characters for an upcoming D&D game. But I can't for the love of me remember the password for that Twitch account. I've tried to get Twitch to reset password, but it's been 30 minutes and I have still not received a password reset email from them, and now they say I've tried too many times.
I would rather not start over again, but what are my options?
Wish I could be of help, you might just have to wait on that email
Do you possibly have another account, like a google or apple account that you have tied in to the same account?
Nope, tried those, they are all new account as of today. Apple one gives me a error.
The app on my phone says when I log out I am logging back in using an old Twitch account that I forgot I had (last time I used Beyond was back when it first came out).
Then I can only recommend to try to contact support so they can get it sorted out for you, and continue to try to get the password reset from Twitch.
Okay, thanks.
I've sent a support ticket to twitch.
the auto response from twitch on that ticket came instantly to my email.
Our support can be found at https://support.dndbeyond.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=602788
How do I share my books to my friends?
If you or someone in your campaign has a master tier subscription they can enable sharing in the campaign.
...Hm.
Thank you
Random question that probablydoesn't belong here. Is there a way to make your homebrew campaign notes into a source book for Beyond? If so that would be cool. Also is there a way to homebrew vehicles? If do I have to make them as monsters? These would be for PCs to control.
No, you can do neither of those, but the homebrew vehicles I can pass along as feedback.
How do I manage my character on the app on my phone? Would like to add stuff like alignment, age, etc.
I figured it out. Had to view sheet on website. Then you can make all the changes.
Okay I'm feeling pretty stupid here but I am a player looking for a game. Do I put that into the channel #750812887697588356 or #looking-for-players?
#750812887697588356 to put yourself out there for a DM to reach out to you, and you look through #looking-for-players to find a DM to private message and ask to join their game
Thank you!
Does anyone have an idea of what patron a warlock thats in The Harperers should choose?
Better for #dnd-discussion - this is more for requesting help with DnDBeyond apps and services
ok, thanks
Newer races (such as Leonin) are not showing up in the PREREQUISITE SUB-TYPE for a homebrew feat's PREREQUISITE TYPE for a race.
Yep, they haven't been added to that part of the system due to there not being able racial prerequisite feats since the ones in xanathars
Well that's sad, but I understand.
oh wait
when i make him level six it shows up as fire
but in the Available At Higher Levels part its acid
Aha! I see that, too.
Except on mine, it shows Cold. 😂
I’ll pass that along for review. Thanks!
Thank you sorry for not replying sooner
There's something I don't understand when picking "Cloistered Scholar" background. If my race is variant human I can chose 2 proficiencies pretty freely and if i chose Glasya Tiefling I'm forced to have history and chose between (arcana, religion or nature) for the second one
Can someone explain?
Cloistered Scholar gives you History, plus your choice of Arcana, Nature, or Religion.
If you already get those proficiencies from your race or class, your available options for the background will change accordingly.
If you don't like the options, you can make a custom background based on Cloistered Scholar, which is an available option
Well actually i found a way that is sort of broken, so basically if your class is limited on a few proficiencies, you take (for this exemple) history in your class proficiencies and since you took history the Cloistered Scholar let you chose any proficiencies
That's the intended design
That’s not broken at all. That’s straight from the background rules.
Ok kool
If a character would gain the same proficiency from two different sources, he or she can choose a different proficiency of the same kind (skill or tool) instead.
Thank you for your help
You can find that quote here, for future reference:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules/personality-and-background#Proficiencies
Hello! I had a post in #looking-for-players that got zapped yesterday because I misunderstood the rule regarding west marches experiences 😦 . Am I okay to put a new post there for a different weekly game devoted to new players or do I need to wait a week due to the multi-post rule?
Hey there, I'm trying to make a custom magical shortbow in dndbeyond that only has a -1 to damage rolls. The to hit rolls are no different than that of a mundane shortbow. How could I go about creating this weapon without having to have my players reach into their character sheets and manually set these numbers to the correct values?
Hi! is there any way to submit a homebrew for manual verification? litterally every word of my subclass is different but it still says its too similar for me to submit it
click the SAVE button on the main page of the homebrew form
That triggers the system to re-assess whether it's similar to official content
🙂
Is there documentation for what can be put in curly braces when making custom feats?
Yes that is perfect, thank you
Is there a way to set a minimum for actions with limited uses?
In the snippet code? Or in the Limited Use?
Limited Use
I think you can add multiple Limited Uses to the action, and it’ll use the higher value.
Oh that's good to know
I think 😅
I'll have to test it
You can definitely add multiple. I’m not entirely sure which gets preference if they apply to the same level(s).
Just following up and hoping this doesn't get missed! Would very much appreciate if a mod might let me know whether I'm okay to post in LFP or if I need to wait -- I really don't want to misunderstand the channel rules! Thanks for all yall do -- I know it's a lot!
Would it be possible to add other feats as enforced prerequisites for homebrew feats?
Can anyone tell me how to kill a tarrasque as a fighter?
would it be possible to use the encounter builder to create one-shots in a hurry?
No. It's only a tool for creating groups of monsters according to APL.
So I have to setup everything in my VTT of choice first?
That's an entirely different aspect. This channel is for help with using the DDB platform. You can ask me in private and I might be able to help.
how do you incorporate sidekicks?
After you've made a sidekick, you either add it to extras on the character sheet, or to the encounter after you've added all the enemy monsters
Hey there, I added a bunch of custom races and subraces. But the custom race doesn't reflect with the custom races below it. See the attached picture.
Anyone knows how that works? Because a regular custom race works just fine.
Ahh I see, thanks Davyd. I'll change names then and be more descriptive to help my players out.
If you use a non space black character you can get the [tamriel and campaign] to show up in smaller grey similar to the first word is showing up in your screenshot
Oh, that sounds great. And do you mean I should write [TamrielCampaign]?
Use some other non space blank and it'll look like 2 words but ddb will consider it 1
That first word rule is a good way to sort your subraces too, since you can't have homebrew race groups.
Like this example has 2 subraces for Silva, but only 1 race for vegepygmy
Ahhhh I see
Or you can use the first word rule to format your sub or variant race name to show up in the list with the same nomenclature as official material
I'm going to toy around with that, thanks Mairondil 🙂
Yeah, go ahead and post for now. The rule is essentially once per week per channel, and is meant to keep things fair for all posters (and spare the folks reading from seeing a bunch of repeats).
I’d generally recommend posting all your games at the same time, just to keep things simple.
And then once the bot deletes your post at the end of the week, you’re free to post again.
Not currently. Generally speaking, the homebrew system is built to facilitate the official rules. Since no official feat has done that, there was never a reason to build it in.
Is it possible to have two dms assigned to one campaign? my friend and I are going to take turns DMing Rise of Tiamat so I wanted to know if there was the possibility to grant him the permissions of DM since he's only a player in the campaign right now.
It isn't I'm afraid
All right, thanks!
Is there a limit on how many AT HIGHER LEVELS entries you can have on a homebrew spell?
I don’t actually know, but 9 seems like a reasonable assumption.
I've got a spell with a lot of at higher level things and I'm able to have 20 entries, but adding a 21st doesn't add and just reloads the Add a Higher Level screen.
So I'd say that has to be the limitation
Sounds plausible
20 levels 20 entires?
Seems like they assumed there was no other way to have 'higher levels' outside of completely homebrew mechanics
I want to remove some characters from a campaign I manage, but not delete them. I'm not clear on the difference between Remove and Deactivate here though?
Neither will delete the character. Remove is the one you want, though. Deactivate keeps them in the campaign but unusable by players.
Thanks!
Just select “Bag of Holding” as a template when you create your homebrew. You’ll get an exact copy of the official one, and then you can adjust it as needed.
k
But honestly, I don’t think that one has any modifiers. It doesn’t alter your character sheet in any way.
Is there a way to remove attunement from an item without recreating the item in homebrew? I'm trying to install the parts of the Orrery of the Wanderer but there's no way to just attune to the Orrery and get the benefits of the parts
No, you will need to make a homebrew copy
quick question i wanna make an Boomerang that deals 1d6 dmg how can i accomplish that?
First thoughts: Base it off a hand axe and add the finesse property to it so it can use your DEX. Change all the text to what you want.
any way i can change the range other than just writing it in the text?
Hmm
Maybe not the finesse property, maybe the ranged property. Hmm Gotta think on this.
cause i would still like to have the 60/120 feet
Maybe change a hand crossbow instead of a handaxe, though the range is not quite the same.
Yeah, I'd take a hand crossbow. Set some ignore weapon properties. Change the text. That looks like it can reproduce it the closest with the shorter range different being the only thing I see different there.
Alternatively, just create a custom action directly on your character sheet.
And maybe adding a # in FIXED VALUE for weapon property will change one of the ranged values
Sadly it doesn't take the max, it just takes the first value :(
On another note, how can I force a homebrew feat to update? It seems like my changed options aren't all being updated.
It seems that even after removing the 1/lr Limited Use Data point and removing the feat from my character it still won't increase from more than 1/lr
It can take a while for it to update on the character sheet
As much as ~20 minutes
I see, it's just odd that the other 3 options are already updated but just 1 is not
Caching is a strange beast
It seems that all homebrew actions have a built in minimum of 1, but there's no way to manually change that unfortunately
Im trying to make a homebrew subclass with options, but i dont know how i control how many options you can choose at certain levels
Anyone know how you can do that?
I don't entirely understand your question. Could you clarify what you mean?
Basically, i have all the subclass options written out, its basically the same concept as battle master manouvers
And i want to control how many of the options a player can pick
Like, with manouvers, you get 3 at 3rd level, and get additional ones at later levels
And i wondered how i can control that
I haven't used the homebrew creator much myself, but if you want to see how the Battle Master subclass does it, you could create a private copy of the Battle Master and see how it works
In the class feature is a field called “Class Levels Where Options Known”.
I figured it out
Tyvvvm! Really appreciate the work yall do to keep this community so clean and well organized! I know moderating isn't easy and wanted to make sure I didn't cause any headaches by misunderstanding stuff!
is there a way to get the game log on the left side of the screen?
Here is something I do not get. I have pretty much almost all of the source book except for three. I paid for legendary before. But to buy legendary again, why almost $200?
The bundle subtracts the dollar amount you paid for the books you already bought.
I’m guessing you bought a few of those books on sale.
Not really.
Only like 1 or 2 and thats about it. I got the rest through legendary in the past.
I am only missing 3 books about $30 each.
Regardless, it’s still the same answer. If you add up the dollar amounts you paid (shown at this link), that’s what’s getting subtracted from the original cost.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace
But if you already own the legendary bundle, you get 15% off any books that came out after.
So in your case, I’d suggest buying those individual books instead.
I really think they need to rethink this. And do it based on what book are left to buy from the bundle.
Does anyone know about the threshold thing for avrae? i cant figure it out
That’s a user-made alias, not a built-in command.
You could try asking in #ddb-avrae-help, but you’d probably have more luck on the Avrae dev server.
Once you have a Legendary Bundle, you can't buy a legendary bundle (for your own account) again - bundles are a one time purchase/activation - you then purchase books individually afterwards using the discount that the bundle provides for future releases.
There's a button for switching where the sidebar displays in the top right above the sidebar
So your only able to do it on character sheets. I was on a campain screen
It can't be moved on the campaign screen, no
Is anyone here a dungeon master
@fresh ridge This channel is for getting help using the D&D Beyond website and tools. If you have a question for a DM, you'll want to ask in #dm-discussion. If you can't see that channel, you'll want to go to #880965682462875679 and select the appropriate roles for any channel you want to access
I am just trying to find out how the game works and how i join one and all tha
t
That'd be a question to ask in #dnd-discussion then
This isn't the channel for learning how to play D&D
Sry but i am new i just joined yesterday on the server so pls DO NOT be so rude
I'm not intending to be rude, I'm just directing you to the appropriate channel for your query
I dont want no trouble
As mentioned, this channel is for queries on how to use D&D Beyond, it's not for questions on how to play D&D
Anyways
For those sorts of questions, you want #dnd-discussion
Where do i find the game rules and that
Links to the rules and other useful resources are pinned in #dnd-discussion
But i cant find the pin
On desktop, click the pin icon in the top right
On mobile devices swipe to the left and tap 'pins' at the top
oh
The prblem is just that when i go in the link to the rules text and i cant find the relevant exact things
If you head on over to #dnd-discussion, as I've mentioned, you can ask questions on where to find specific things
This isn't the channel to get help with the rules
i know but i HAVE been to the rules on the website but i cant find the relevant text
That is not a matter for this channel
Why dont u guys make the role Dungeon master seperated from the other roles so that we can see who is DM and who is not
The role is separated and the role doesn't mean you are a DM, it means you want to access the DM relevant channels
ok
If you go here: #880965682462875679 message
You'll see there's a player role 🎲 and a dungeon master role 🐲
can anyone make a small map for me or teacher me how to as its confusing
@plush hill This channel is for getting help using the D&D Beyond website and tools
If you want to commission someone to make you a map, check out #dnd-advertisements
If you want recommendations on map making software, or tips and tricks, asking in #dm-discussion
If you can't see any of those channels, you'll need to set the right role in #880965682462875679
Hi everyone thanks for the help last time, our group has run into a bit of a pickle and I was hoping yall can help.
So the guy who was hosting our campaign on dndbeyond was asked to leave the group by our gm and so he disbanded the group on beyond.
The issue is our GM doesnt have any of the sourcebooks on beyond which is why he was having that player with all the sourcebooks host it. But we have another person in the group willing to upgrade to a master sub. Does he have to be the GM of the campaign to share all his content with us or does a master sub just have to be in the campaign to share it?
Also if this is the wrong place to ask sorry 😅 I wasn't sure what channel to ask in
Right place to ask, and hopefully the answer is what you're hoping to hear
The person who enables content sharing with their subscription does not need to be the DM
The DM will still control the content toggles, but they don't need the subscription
All content owned by everyone in the campaign will still be shared with everyone else in the campaign
Hello. I have a master tier sub but my players couldn't view the Balloon Pack page (https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/balloon-pack) from Princes of the Apocalypse, nor, I believe, put them into their ddb character sheet inventory. I'd like to understand whether this is because it's tagged as an adventure item that players shouldn't be able to look up? If so, how can I tell what's tagged in this way? Finally, is there a way to let them put these items in their character sheet inventories?
Have you enabled content sharing in the campaign, and are the characters they're trying to add it into in the campaign which has the sharing enabled?
Yes, that all appears to be set up correctly.
Okay, that's the most common mistake people make, so it's easiest to check. Next is to make sure that everyone's entitlements are sync'd. https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace
My entitlements data was not in sync! It is now in sync! Sounds promising and thank you!. Is there a way this error can be surfaced to users better?
The system itself does sync regularly, so it's rare for this to happen.
So I'm a real noob at this whole homebrew stuff and I'm kinda getting the hang of it aside from stuff not showing in the char sheet. I'm trying to make a custom subclass based off of Darius in League.
One of the subclass feats is as follows: As a bonus action, once per encounter, you can target an enemy with marks. On your next attack phase you have advantage. You receive a bonus +5 to attack and damage rolls. You deal an additional 1d6 damage for each mark the enemy has on them.
How would I go about adding this to the subclass for it to show up in the character sheet. If I should be posting this in the forums do let me know but I figured it might be easier in here.
I've added a modifier for the +5 to attack and dmg but I'm not sure if this is going to show up as a permanent bonus or not. I don't want it to show as a permanent bonus and would rather have it set up as activated once I burn the bonus action. I might just have to have it setup where I simply add +5 whenever I do decide to use it
Basically anything you add to the sheet is going to be a permanent addition. There isn’t currently a way to do temporary effects.
got it. figured as much so i removed them
In this case, I’d add an Action just to display the text. Set the Activation Type to “Bonus Action”.
after reading a few forums posts, I gathered that I basically have to get this whole subclass right before adding it to the char or I'll have to recreate it?
No, you can add it at any point. The issue is that homebrew edits can sometimes take up to 15 minutes before they’ll show up on your sheet.
So sometimes you might have to wait a sec.
oh I see
I seem to be having difficulty accessing some of the content I have purchased. I am like 99.99% sure I purchsed the Strixhaven book and it is not showing up in my collection. The site, in general, seems to be reflecting that I am not a pro-tier subscriber... and I should be.
You can verify your purchase history and subscription status here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace
How do I delete homebrew spells I have created after they have already been submitted?
You cannot, as detailed in the homebrew rules & guidelines
Is this where I would come for help in viewing my digital content? I purchased a few sections of "Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything" and don't know where to find it?
Can you advise what elements you have purchased?
Yes, thank you.
Artificer
Armorer
Artificer Initiate
Okay, so you've purchased individual listings (subclasses and feat). All individual listings you use the corresponding listing search under the Games Rule menu drop down
So, obviously, I'm new to this. I'm not sure I follow. You're saying the content is now viewable from withing the Game Rule menu? So the data is integrated in to my main page?
Yes - if you purchase a book in full (aka the PHB for 29.99) you get the compendium (the ability to read the digital "book") which is read from the Sources drop down menu. You would also get the content to use within our toolset (what we call listings - subclasses, feats, spells, etc.). The Listings each have their own search under the Game Rules drop down (next to sources). So if you are searching for a spell, you access it via the Spells listing - https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells
If you purchase select elements from a book, maybe a subclass or a feat, or a sub bundle (the background bundle, etc.) they follow the same access - listings through listing searches and via the character sheet and other toolsets, and if you purchase the Compendium only version, you read via the Sources menu.
As you've purchased subclasses and a feat, you access via the listing searches under the Game Rules menu drop down - the subclasses are within the Artificer class listing, and the feat can be searched and accessed under the Feats listing.
They will all be available to use in the toolsets as well, so you can add them to characters via the character builder.
Wow, that's a mouthful. Thank you. I'm going to go figure that out. I mean, it makes sense. I just need to work through it for a firm grasp. Thank you for the explanation. I should be fine now.
@final trellis Thank you again. I got it now.
happy to help 🙂
how do I make a magic weapon that does a d8 slashing and uses dex?
better question for #homebrew but choose a battleaxe and then add modifier > weapon property > finesse
pick rapier as your base, switch the damage to slashing.
is divine soul sorc fixed yet on ddb
and are making clockwork/aberrant sorc spell swap work as written something that is in the process?
There hasn't been any update to divine soul, clockwork soul, or aberrant mind yet
are there plans to make it work as written or are the devs happy to leave these unfinished mess alone
I can assure you that the devs aren't planning to "leave these unfinished mess alone"
I can't speak for any immediate plans, timelines etc but the team is aware that it's not currently supported and there is a desire to add proper, robust implementation in the future
fair enough i understand the dev team is probably busy and got more profitable things to do than fixing a 5 year old subclass that people have already bought
It's less about 'profitability' and more about general bandwidth and finding the right solution, not the 'right now' solution.
The general features system is a big update that's looming on the horizon that will hopefully unblock a lot of fixes across the character sheet service
For updates on D&D Beyond, I recommend you tune in to the dev update on twitch on Thursdays, or catch the VoD immediately afterwards on twitch and a few days later on Youtube
hi. looking for a bit of help. i'm making an 8th level character with 3 levels in armorer artificer. how do i infuse the gauntlets i get as a class feature? or how do i make a magic weapon that are gauntlets?
You will have to add an item to your inventory and infuse those, customising them to say they're your gauntlets
Excuse me, how do I edit my completed character sheet for dnd beyond?
Click the manage button next your characters name, then select the edit levels and features option in the sideebar

Tap the menu for abilities etc. and choose to edit the character on the website.
You can't edit your character on the mobile app
On the mobile site, there's a manage button next to the name
Oh
I am attempting to make a Lycanism / adjacent feat, is there a way to make it so that those with the feat have vulnerability to silvered weapons? Currently there is just the normal damage types and "all" as a choice under damage type for Vulnerability. And Custom Vulnerability only allows the normal damage types and "Slashing from a Vorpal Sword"
You would have to put it in the text description
It shows up under Restriction, and won't show up on the character sheet
Not all fields appear on the character sheet
That'd be a question for #dnd-rules
yeah sorry! thx
A quick followup. Does purchasing a sourcebook such as Eberron unlock all of the digital assets for it as well? and if it does, then does sharing it in a campaign allow the content such as artificer to be used in the character builder for others in the campaign?
Yes, if you purchase a full source (the general add to cart button at the top of the individual marketplace page, and not buying listing individually further down), you get all the content from that purchase - so listings to use in the toolsets and the compendium to read digitally.
And if you are in a campaign and content sharing is enabled, your content is shared and available to others in that campaign (on the characters joined to that specific campaign for character sheet content)
I ask because my son has shared Eberron as a sourcebook (digital), but I do not see artificer available in the character generator.
Is your character sheet joined/connected to the campaign where content is being shared to you?
I think that may be the issue. Thanks for narrowing that down.
Curious because I can't seem to find an update. But has a rough timeline been made yet for the Sidekicks from Tasha's or am I just missing them?
D&D Beyond doesn't do timelines I'm afraid
hello i apologize for the disturbance , but i am a fresh newbie who has been interested in the concept of DnD in general and i am trying to learn how to make my character and familiarize with the game as a whole .
hello fafnir nice to meet you
likewise , it is a pleasure as well
You'll want to head on over to #dnd-discussion and check out the pinned links
I see
@modest pelican just asking where is the homebrew area since soomeone told me to go there for help on making a monster for my gamre\
You'll need to go to #880965682462875679 and pick the appropriate role to see the channel
No, but the noble background would still work fine for that, though you might want to make a custom background feature for the purpose
I am guessing i would have to mention being excommunicated in the backstory correct?
yes
What does the Max HP Modifier do? I change the number, but don't see anything change.
Your override overrides the modifier.
It changes your max hp to a fixed value of your choosing
If you have a max hp of 40 normally, putting 10 in Max HP Modifier will set your max to 50, but putting that same value in override max hp will set your max to 10
Sorry if I'm being dense, but I don't get it. If my max HP is 25, say from three rolls totaling 16 plus 9 from CON, what is the OVERRIDE MAX HP value actually doing? I don't want to override my max HP, just have it be correct in the top field (where it's shown as 25 in red).
In this case it's doing nothing, because you're overriding your max hp to be the same as your normal max hp
Remove the '25' from 'Override Max HP' and
- The red 25 will turn black
- The 25 in brackets will disappear
You're right now telling the system "Ignore the fact that my total rolls and 16 and I have a +9 , set my max hp to 25 instead"
Got it. I was trying to change the OVERRIDE MAX HP to zero and it wouldn't go below 1. I figured out that if I highlighted it and then hit delete that it would do what you say above. Thanks.
Yeah, you can't override your max hp to 0 😛
Okay. Thanks again.
0 = dead ☠️
Both those fields are meant for things like a wight's life drain, where you need to temporarily adjust your max.

hello, new to D&D Beyond and also Discord. I am trying to load a custom map to a campaign and after putting in the url I receive this message " Map could not be loaded - if you're using Drive or similar, ensure sharing is enabled". I'm using google drive and from what I can see it is a shared file. Any help would be appreciated.
Where are you trying to load this map?
using above vtt
Above VTT is a third party extension that D&D Beyond doesn't support nor endorse the use of. If you're having problems with it, you'll need to contact the developer
thanks
How can I edit my character(s) so I have disadvantage against charm effects?
Depends on what exactly you're looking for here.
If you're just trying to apply the disadvantage to a roll, you can right click / long press on the roll button.
If you want it to show under "Saving Throw Modifiers", you'll need to use the homebrew system. Ultimately you need to add a Modifier with Type: Disadvantage, Subtype: Saving Throws, Description: "against charm effects".
Or if you just want it displayed somewhere, you can add a custom action directly on your sheet to show the text.
Thank you! @uneven lantern
Another question; how am I able to edit race ASI's so that it's a "choose" between like +1+1+1, or +2 +1, +3, etc?
For homebrew, or what?
I'm making a homebrew race, yes
Ah, not sure then, #homebrew will likely be able to help. #880965682462875679 can get you in if you don't have access.
Oh, that'd be the place instead of here?
Yeah, it's "Discuss Homebrew on D&D Beyond, and use this to bounce ideas, talk about your favourite homebrew, or seek help in using the homebrew builders!"
Okay, thank you!
To answer your question, though, you need to use the Options system for that.
Hmm, need to bump someone to update the description of that channel in the list in #880965682462875679 I see.
How do i use the websites VC
D&D Beyond does not have voice chat built in, we do have voice channels on the Discord though if you wish to talk with people that way, you will need to see what your push to talk setting within Discord is.
Nope, that'd be #dnd-discussion ;)
Thx
Hi, I was just wondering if D&DBeyond/Fandom still has a bug bounty program through Bugcrowd
Is there a cap for how many characters 1 player can create in 1 campain ?
The caps for a single campaign is 13 accounts connected (DM + 12 players), and within the campaign there can be a max of 99 characters. Those 99 is split between the 13 accounts (as the DM can also add character sheets to their campaign). As long as there is free space still for characters in a campaign, then a player can add more.
Thanks 👍
Submitting a support ticket would likely be the best way to convey that rather than Discord.
Use https://support.dndbeyond.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and submit your request.
bonus proficiency dropdown for order domain doesn't have any options for me
oh, I changed a proficiency from somewhere else and one appeared. so I guess they were probably just both selected somewhere
That was going to be the first thing I asked - you most likely already had those skills selected elsewhere so it had no options to chose from.
yeah, I didn't notice at a glance cause it was a randomized character but looking closer she was an orc so she got intimidation from her race, and the randomizer gave her persuasion in the class proficiencies, so they were already taken
thanks for getting back to me anyway though
How do you Homebrew optional class features in DnD Beyond?
Hey folks, just loaded up Encounters in Chrome and all the body text has gone white and it makes it very difficult to read. Any idea how to fix? Works fine in Edge but ew.
Check for any web browser extensions and disable any that can interfere with DnDBeyond's normal functionality (AboveVTT, Beyond20, Ad Blocker, etc.) and see if that works. Also try clearing your browser cache.
You can only do it for subclasses, not the base class. All you need to do is set the subclass feature’s Feature Type to either “Additional” or “Replacement”.
Oh, so that's what those are for. Thanks!
Yep. “Additional” is a feature they get for free. For “Replacement”, they’ll have to trade it for whichever Granted feature you specify.
If you specify more than one, they can pick between them.
Are there any rules or builds made around getting drunk as a monk i just want a drunken fist type of character
That's a question best asked in #character-discussion
Oh ok
This channel is for getting help using the D&D Beyond website and tools
Sooo. In encounter builder is it possible to direct the damage when a player rolls or casts a spell?
Direct how?
So are you guys aware something is seriously wrong with the site right now? What the heck is going on here? Changes to items and stuff in my campaign is not showing up on character sheets. New items added to try and circumvent it not updating existing items also doesn't work. Everything's suddenly completely broken
If they are homebrew items then a normal expectation is for caching to take 5-15 minutes to catch up when you edit a homebrew item.
Sooo… I’m a new player and really have no idea on how to go about starting to play this game. It looks really interesting and was wondering if anyone could give me some help or tips to going about starting
Welcome! If you head over to #dnd-discussion, there’s some beginner-friendly links pinned to the channel, and a bunch of helpful folks to answer any game questions.
(This channel is specifically for help with D&D Beyond itself.)
Okay no problem thanks
I have a homebrewed subclass that gives me access to cast additional spells, I don’t know how to add these spells to my spell list without having them be “At Will” spells.
This is a bard subclass for reference
And even when I do, that is by going through a homebrew feat to give me the spells.
I can’t get them in my spell list via the subclass
Homebrew feats can only add spells that are At Will or have their own number of uses.
If you want them to use spell slots, you need to add them to your subclass.
Hey! My dndbeyond subscription payment failed, so i went to repurchase the subscription, but it only liked to a website that said "Couldn't Collect Payment." I tried unsubscribing and resusbscribing, but it still displays the Couldn't Collect Payment screen. I reported the issue this morning to the dndbeyond support but have yet to recieve a reply beyond the confirmation email for receiving a complaint. I use this account for several campaigns and have a lot of purchased content i share with my friends, so this is a bit of a headache.
The support team usually respond within 3 business days (not counting weekends), depending on ticket volumes. Unfortunately we are not Warforged and require food and sleep. We also respond to tickets mostly in the order they are submitted, and at times we may have increase ticket volumes so it takes a little longer to respond.
Hello, I am curently the dm of a game and I am setting up the encounter builder. I have started with the preset that loads my PCs. I have friendsly NPCs that I need to add. I am using the hit dice of the monster character sheet to determine the level. I am then adding a new character at that level to the party. Is this the right way to do this or is there a better, more accurate way?
This brings me to a more general question that maybe has already been answered: Is there a good way to add an NPC (monster char sheet) to the party without recreating it from scratch?
This question is a good one to ask in #dm-discussion as it's more of a games rule question that a DDB tool question
Depends what you mean by "monster character sheet":
- If you mean a character sheet like what the players use, no such thing exists in the rules so it'd be down to you to make it
- If you mean a monster stat block, you would have to use the homebrew tools to make a stat block and then add it to the appropriate players character sheet in extras
How do I adjust the amount of charges per day a magic item has? When making the item
And is there anyway to have it be PB
Under additional information there's a section where specific charges, but it has to be a fixed value
Oh ok cool
Yeah them being fixed is fine I can just change it whenever the bonus changes
Wait actually like
How do I modify the charges of a spell on the weapon?
When you add the spell, you can specify min/max charges used.
I'm new to D&D so can I have help
This channel is for getting help using the D&D Beyond website and tools
You'll want to head over to #dnd-discussion, where you can check out the pinned links which have useful information, and ask questions
How do I make it so it recharges on a long rest
Like recovery type is listed when I leave the editing of the spell stuff, but when I go into it. it doesn’t have an option for recovery type
Are you trying to give each spell its own number of uses? i.e. fireball 2/lr + burning hands 1/sr?
The way the rules work (and thus the way the homebrew system was built) is that the item itself has charges and a reset condition, and then spells can use one or more of the item's charges.
Wand of Binding, for example, lets you cast Hold Monster for 5 charges, or Hold Person for 2. https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/wand-of-binding
But either one you cast subtracts from the item's 7 total charges, which reset at dawn.
If you need to track the charges separately per spell, a single item won't do it. You could either add an item per spell with the appropriate charges, or pair it with a homebrew feat (which would let you specify a number of uses per spell).
how many snippets there's on the coding section on the homebrew stuff?
Uh, your question doesn't quite make sense. What do you mean by "how many"?
srry im such a typo
what i want to say is how many snippet codes are available on the program of the homebrew stuff
on dnd beyond
This is another placeholder thread, until such time as I am able to more fully detail this for you all.
This information is taken primarily from this changel...
thanx mod
Hey guys, Can you tell me what adventurers league is? My new DM is saying were gonna do it.
Im pretty new so i dont know alot
You'll wanna ask in #dnd-discussion
This channel is for getting help using the D&D Beyond website and tools
Short answer is that it’s for organized play, like at conventions.
https://dnd.wizards.com/ddal_general
But yeah, the folks in #dnd-discussion can answer any further questions. 👍
Oh my bad, thx
is there a way to roll a magic weapons extra damage (like a Flame Tongue's fire damage) in the same time as the regular damage ?
for example, 1d8 slashing + 2d6 fire with one button press
Not currently
I’m more on an inexperienced player (so excuse me if this is a dumb question), and I’m going to be joining a running Icewind Dale campaign, so does my background need to align with my “secret”?
That's for you and your group and DM to decide. Also this channel is for help with the DnDBeyond website, services, and this Discord, not for general D&D questions/help. Try #dnd-discussion for more general D&D questions and conversation.
how do I add a concentration tag to a homebrew spell?
hey what would be a good faith for a paladin that is going to have Oath of Vengeance with the tenet "No Mercy for the Wicked"?
Set the Duration Type under Basic Information.
#character-discussion can help with that. 👍
(This channel is for help with D&D Beyond itself.)
For a subrace, do I want to use addtional or granted?
For their ability score increase.
I went with additional. Is that right?
It depends on what you’re trying to do.
A Granted feature is one that is given to the player automatically.
An Additional feature is an optional one (like the ones in Tasha’s) that the player can choose to take in addition to their Granted features.
Replacement is also optional, but the player has to trade it for the specified Granted feature.
Ah okay, I would want to go with granted then. It is a subrace ability score modifier.
To be fair, most of the official races do have both a Granted and optional ASI. 😅
Yeah
A Granted one that provides specific score increases, and a Replacement one that lets them choose their scores to increase.
Yeah, they can do that with other DM's. I believe that certain races will have physical differences. Humans is different. However races based on elements are not.
Huh, it is now grayed out...
I guess it doesn't apply. It was the Feature Type. But now it is grayed out.
I don’t think you can change it after the fact.
You’ll probably have to delete that one and create a new Granted one instead.
Yeah, I figured that out. However how do I add something like Stone Endurance?
Nvm
I am dumb.
Just as a general tip, if you know of an official feature that does what you want, you can always make a homebrew copy of that and see exactly how it was set up.
Yup, I knew that. I was stuck in the ability score increase and couldn't figure some thing out. Then I backed out and found that out. Oops.
Here one thing I am not understanding. How do I make the subrace appears under it base race?
that's the neat part. you don't.
Huh? Neat? The base race is not really playable like the elves. I don't think anyone can play straight up elf?
And someone accidentally made a character with the unplayable base.
I am more asking about the drop down menu.
you don't.
they have to pick the subrace from the race menu as whole. homebrew races literally cannot be put under the base race heading. dunno why, that's just how it works.
I fixed my issue, I forgot to click something. The selection of the base race is not there anymore.
I think you got it backward. Granted is the choices I think. Additions is what give it to them without the option. They showed up as options when it came to the cantrips. Unless I am missing something?
I cannot figure out how to make both cantrips to be given to a race. It is only showing up as a choice.
Nvm, I was dumb to pick two spells at the drop down instead of making them separate.
hmm, how to add movement speed?
Uhm, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this if not tell me where to move it...but I'm having a weird glitch in ddb where when I try to add a cantrip to a character it just loads forever and never gets added. I tried this with new characters and already made characters(removing and re adding the cantrip). It doesn't happen with regular spells, only the cantrips.
Feature type applies to the feature itself. You can have a Granted feature that gives them a choice of options within it.
For an optional feature to even be visible, the player needs to opt in first (by enabling Customize Your Origin in the character settings, selecting Origin Manager on the race tab, and enabling that specific feature).
For races, you set those on the main race page under Basic Information.
Do you get the same issue in another browser, or on another device?
Hello - question about Avrea integration.... I have linked my campaign and when I roll from a character sheet, the rolls and the game log is getting sent to the appropriate discord thread as expected. However, when I roll in the DnDbeyond combat tracker, Avrea sends the results to me directly as a PM, instead of to the server thread. Is there a way to correct this?
That'll be because of your roll setting in the gamelog; self comes to PMs, everyone goes to the channel
You can change the default setting there in the game log, or change it per roll if you right click or long press.
Having some issues with the encounter builder and not sure if that's just how it's intended to work currently or not
So normally I just punch in the 22 sourcebooks I own which is tedious, but the remember my filter helps...until I want to show any of my homebrew and then I have to remove all filters and either search for my homebrew or select the homebrew only. It would make more sense if the "homebrew/official" filter was just a check box for "include my homebrew collection" which allow for filtering official content OR including my homebrew collection
@uneven lantern @modest pelican Thanks so much for your replies. Strangely, that did not fix the problem... I set the default for the game log to Everyone, however when i roll from the combat tracker, its still rolls to self (see attached). Any ideas?
Are you rolling from a monster, a character you own, or another players character?
Rolling from a monster
And the Game Log screenshot above is from that encounter page?
Can you try to right click / long press on that monster roll and set it as Everyone?
what sites should i use to play?
since i have my character on dnd beyond but dont know any dice rolling websites and any visual websites for the actual thing
There’s a few options listed here, but that’s a better question for #dnd-discussion. (This channel is for help with D&D Beyond itself.)
https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/750-new-players-guide-how-to-play-d-d-online
ah okay thanks for clearing that up
The Master Tier subscription allows a subscriber to turn on content sharing for up to 3 campaigns in which she participates. Each campaign can have up to 12 participants (13 counting the DM).
Is this still true? Or did it change to 5 campaigns and 99 characters?
Characters is 99, players is still 12+DM.
How many campaign?
3, but currently raised to 5.
Does the 5 campaign includes campaigns that I do not own that I am a part of?
You can activate campaign sharing in up to 5 campaigns, regardless of if you're the DM or not
Huh, for some reason one of my player cannot make more then 6 characters.
Is the players 12 shared or is it each players?
And is it for each campaigns? Or is all campaigns shared?
Okay, something is def wrong. My player whenever is invited to join the campaign, she can only join with her own personal characters. She has no option to make a new characters. Is there something we are missing?
Without a subscription, users can make up to six characters.
If they have six already, they won’t have the option to create a new one, or claim one from the campaign.
lol beet me to it lol
hahahaha only sugestion is deleat a carecter not in use and have DM run new carecter that they can claim on the campain there invited.
i went that rout so i could use perks that dm purchased lol
Okay, that is dumb. I thought the subscriptions was for my campaigns. so the players have to have their own subscription to have more then 6 characters in a campaign...
difer topic.... where would i right to get advice on camand short cuts? for instance i can comand rage on discord for barberian but how do i get the rage bones damage atomaticaly added
sadly yes
sertin perks ya purchase are for you only and other perks are shared
A Master Tier subscriptions lets the group share their game content purchases with one another.
The other subscription benefits apply only to the subscriber.
Maybe have another tier to where in "Campaigns" they can have more characters. I think the subscriptions are cheap.
Through Avrae? I’d suggest asking in #ddb-avrae-help.
thanks
do tool tips work for Homebrew creations im getting a tool tip no found message.
You can’t use them to link to homebrew, no. Only official listings.
But you can put an actual link to your homebrew.
That's a shame
Is it possible to change monster stats in encounter builder…ie max or increase HP before initiative? As of now, i can build encounter, but monsters have “default” HP
You can override a monsters HP, yeah
But you can't change any other stats outside of making a homebrew copy and using that
what do I put in here to make it so I can use the spells 3 times per day?
because rn it just says that I have only one charge
That first image is how many charges the spell consumes.
You need to set the number of available charges on the item itself.
OHHH
wait so do I just put 1 min and max?
If casting that spell uses one charge, then yes.
How many characters can you have per campaign?
100
Hey I need some help because I can’t join a campaign using a link a friend sent me? Is this normal because it says there is a problem joining my character to the campaign
What kind of problem?
You can create it yourself using the homebrew system, or if you have a subscription, you can use any of the community-published ones available here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/homebrew/subclasses
thank you
All it is saying is that there is a problem but it won’t tell me
Can you share a screenshot?
Do you get the same problem in another browser? Or on another device?
I haven’t tried it on my computer because it needs to cool down
But I don’t see why it wouldn’t do the same thing
Which character were you trying to join with? Can you share a link to that sheet?
The character by the name of Gruul and sure I just have to ask why
I need help making a homebrewed subclass in dnd beyond can anyone help me with that?
What kind of help?
how do I get a warforged race?
It’s part of Eberron: Rising from the Last War. You can buy either the whole book, or just that race:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/sourcebooks/eberron-rising-from-the-last-war
thx
I'm stuck on mobile, so any time I try to "click" the question marks by particular notes when homebrewing stuff it appears for less than a second. Therefore, what is a Race Group? And what does the "Is Variant" bit do?
(I'm trying to homebrew a Satyr variant for a setting I've made for one of my players; they're using D&D Beyond and I figured having that out would make character creation a bit easier for them to have all the features)
The homebrew tools are not designed for mobile use (it’s the same tools the devs use to create the official content so it’s built around a PC workflow/screens not mobile)
Yeah, getting that feel for this. Tis annoying because my PC is... not doing great, but it is what it is
Is there a way to see what features are providing bonuses to a skill? My PC has absurdly high bonuses to all of their skills and I can't figure out why
the mentioned pc in case im stupid and this is easily discernable https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/68971638
The sheet doesn't give a full breakdown of the source of your modifier (this is feedback that has actually already been passed along, surfacing that information would be useful)
ok
i figured it out apparently my homebrew ring is bugged
its giving huge stat bonuses that arent correct
Homebrew is usually the culprit in cases like this 😛
yeah, uh... huh...
i just fixed the item (was [bonus ability checks fixed value 2 primary stat wis], leading to a +7 bonus to all ability checks with a +5 wismod instead of [bonus wisdom ability checks fixed value 2]). fully misunderstanding the homebrew tools lol.
hate to find out i bugged a fun homebrew item after its published but thats what no testing gets you
Also, that's using Palid elf, having advantage on a particular skill ability (such as perception) raises its passive by 5
Palid elf is wack
So I am new to playing online, and I want to run a campaign in the world of Eberron using DND beyond and discord as my platforms. However I went to test making a character, and I couldn't use the Eberron Races or the Artificer class. How would I make those available for my players if they aren't available for me as well? Do we each need to buy the online version of the book to use it in character creation? I own the hardcover in person book, so I don't really want to buy it again, but it is something I will consider if it will make the options available for all of my players.
Yes, to access any content outside of the basic rules, you will need to purchase the content if you want to access the artificer
Would I be able to share that choice with my friends as well then?
Or do they have to buy it as well?
If you or one of your players has a master tier subscription, the content can be shared
Ok thank you
If you have the physical book, you can also use the homebrew system to recreate those races for free. (Just don’t publish it.)
Or you can buy just the races you need instead of the whole book. Whatever you spend gets credited toward the cost of the book itself, too.
For Artificer, though, you’d have to unlock the base class by purchasing any Artificer subclass first.
So I recently connected my beyond account to roll 20 and not it's rolling crit damage for everything. In example i cast cone of cold and it rolls damage twice anyone know how to fix this?
D&D Beyond does not support any third party tool, including Roll20. You'll need to talk to whoever developed the tool you're using to connect them.
Instructions in LFDM
I could use some help
how would I rewrite {{(modifier:cha+classlevel)@min:1#unsigned}} to instead be double the class level?
this is for a 9th level rogue subclass ability, if that matters
can you do 'cha+classlevel+classlevel'?
I tried classlevel+classlevel, didn't work
{{classlevel*2}} should work
danke
Would someone be able to help me make my custom homebrew item rollable in a character sheet? It will do the 1d6 + dex +1 bludgeoning but wont allow the elemental damage to be rolled.
How do you override racial ability score bonuses, made before Fairy/Haregon and so forth
Other Modifiers in character creation?
Dice rolling doesn't currently support secondary damage at this time
Enable the option to customise your origin. Then from the origin manager, enable customise ability scores
There we are - thank you. 🙂
having problems with downloading the app on a new tablet that uses android os

just says "waiting for download" been sitting here for about 8 minutes now and no progress
does play protect interfere with the download?

Where are the dndbeyond subscription benefits redeem page?
And when are march ones released
There is no redemption page for subscriber perks, they're applied automatically. And no date has been given for the March benefits yet
I'm trying to create a Circle of Wildfire Druid and for some reason it's not giving me the option to select it as my subclass. I have all content enabled in the character creator. Please help
Do you own that subclass, or is it being shared through campaign sharing?
I own it
Are your entitlements sync'd: https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace
That did it. Thank you!
Possibly a dumb question but is there a way to filter the search - either on the site or the app - so that it shows you spells that have only the Verbal component? Using the search filters on the app, it shows me spells that have all the other components as well even when I've only selected the Verbal component
On the site you can filter components by either 'must have' (green check mark) or 'must not have' (red cross)
It's under advanced filters
Cool, I'll try using just the site then. Thank you! 😊
How do you play dnd?
That's a question for #dnd-discussion, check out the pinned links there, lots of useful info
I'm trying to make a homebrew subclass, and I want to give a pool of options that are only available after certain levels, and other options. How would one make it so that I can choose a option from a first class feature OR a option from the sixth level one?
That depends. Are their choices at level 6 limited to the 6th-level options only? Or can they pick one of the earlier ones?
I want them to be able to choice either
Cool
So inside each option, there's a field called "Required Class Level". Just set that to 6 as needed.
Got it
Then in the class feature itself, you'll need to set "Class Levels Where Options Known". 1,6 would let them make one choice at level 1, and one more at level 6.
But I can’t seem to make a option depend on another option in the same feature.
Ok so I'm in this discord group (The wandering realm) and they have a set rule for homebrew we're it has to be approved first to be use the only issue is that some of my homebrew autoed into my PC but when I try to remove it from my PC's spell list it well gives me this Error Code: 1eea9a8e957c41cb8b71cbc17cd9cbd4
Is their some sort of bug with Homebrew spells crashing beyond when you try to remove them from your spell list?
There is a field called "Prerequisite Class Feature Option", but I think it only lets you pick options from another class feature.
So if you had the level 1 and level 6 options defined in completely separate features.
Buuuut, that wouldn't let them choose a level 1 option at level 6.
So you might have to pick your poison here. :/
Open the spell in the homebrew editor and check "Available for Class(es)" under Basic Information. Make sure that field contains only classes, and not subclasses.
Ok thanks I didn't know that subclasses broke the spells (I made the spells specifically as an expansion upon undead subclasses so that's probably why it broke)
Essentially, putting a subclass there flags it as always prepared.
ohhh, that should probably be changed, I was wanting the spells to be subclass specific but I can deal. (Of course that would probably take a good chunk of coding work so no need to bother with it)
is there any way for me the get an offline version preferably pdf of the books
i know about the app and crtl+p
@little plume can you link me to your affected character
Wizards of the Coast does not offer PDFs of any of the D&D 5th edition publications, and D&D Beyond is no exception to that
The only way to access your DDB content offline is through the app
Sure!
@little plume I'm seeing the option
Yeah on Int and Wisdom I can choose a patron but it doesn't do anything when I do
Like normally you'd get a little features dependent on the patrons but nothing appears
And I think the no patron issue was me not realizing the "Profane Soul" subclass doesnt work you have to choose the int or wisdom one
Do you mean in the character builder? Not all features are displayed
Can you complete the character and check in the sheet
Will do!
Thanks
Ah ok I can see it in the character sheet now, a little annoying to see for different options but it works thanks!
(Building up on the before mention comment) Why would they make Downloadable sharable PDF's of their content? It would undermine the whole purpose of having the online books in the first place making PDF's for selling online content is the same as giving it way free of charge.
@umbral rover The query was already answered and doesn't need to be 'built upon'
Ight, just saying bad business model for that and I'm done talking for awhile.
I am trying to make a PC for a buddy that I am DMing for so that I can track the items I give him and such (he is doing his own tracking on paper) but for some reason, I am unable to make him a grung, though I am able to see grungs as an option from One Grung Above. Any pointers on how to fix this?
nvm... got it. needed to activate non-core as an option.
Hey, I created a homebrew version of helm of brilliance with the amount of charges for the spells that we rolled into it, but when I add the item to my character, it shows the appropriate amount of charges, but they're all used up already. How fix?
How can I make something appear in the Bonus Actions area?
This is a #homebrew question but sadly had no luck there. Was trying my luck here seeing if someone knew
Set the Activation Type to “Bonus Action”.
I have, but it doesn't show
How long ago did you do it? It can sometimes take up to 15 minutes for homebrew edits to show up on the character sheet.
I sent you a DM with the details, but a couple hours ago
I made a modified version of the centaur that is a deer instead of the horse body and I want to know if keeping the same speed makes sense since they would be much smaller then a centaur
The folks in #homebrew can lend you some opinions there. You’ll need to get the Homebrew role in #880965682462875679 first, though.
This channel is more for technical help with D&D Beyond itself.
Is there a way for me to put my characters in a custom order?
It goes alphabetical, so best way would be to put 1. 2. 3. Etc infront of them
Hm okay
Can I make suggestions for the website somewhere?
I'm no mod but one channel above, #ddb-feedback would be a good place to start. Unless a mod wants to direct you somewhere else
Okay, thank you for your help
@torn mauve I would like to add it's a-z automatically, you change some presets but it's not manual
I know, but I would want to kind of drag and drop my characters around
Hi all. anyone know how I can use Origin Manager for custom lineage?
I have all source books, and I do not see homebrew options for origins? what am I missing?
Question: If my player creates a homebrew item (i.e they program it in and do not publish it) and I want to let them use the item on a character in my campaign and we have “homebrew enabled” on their character sheet, will they be able to add it?
Or do I as the DM have to put the item in my home brew?
@strong current custom lineage doesn't have any origin management features
@river breach the player will be able to add it by having it in their collection, yeah
Thank you!
making homebrew race on D&D beyond, how do I give a racial trait that has advantage on saving throws against being poisoned? it seems like i can only make it advantage on saving throws in general
You might want to check out a race that already has that kind of ability (e.g. Dwarf) and see how it was configured there . You can make a copy of existing races/items/spells and see how things are set up.
I created a homebrew version of a magic item (unpublished) and the players in my campaign is unable to see it to add to their inventory. I have sharing enabled for the campaign and they have homebrew enabled on their character. I can go into their inventory and add it, but they cannot search it on the list to add items. What am I doing wrong?
Hey, It says I own the subclass 'College of Eloquence' for the Bard but I dont see it as an option when I try to pick it.
Where does it say that?
What happened?
You’ll need to turn on Magic: The Gathering Content in your character settings.
Ya that
I can't find diamond dust as someone I can add to my character. Am I missing something?
Use a custom item.
So wait I have to use a custom item for diamond dust?
It's not an item in the Equipment section.
And now I'm wondering why a 5k diamond is.
thank you. Wow that's dumb
Hey how does content sharing with the subscription work? If I have some friends I'm doing an irl campaign with, the dm isn't using dndbeyond, can I add them to a campaign just for character sheets?
Yeah you can just create a campaign yourself and add them to that. If you're not using any DM specific features on the campaign it doesn't really matter who the DM is according to DNDBeyond.
OK cool
when making a character using a homebrew race what name generator does it use for the random name generator thing?
All the random character names come from http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/, regardless of your race.
Because gemstones have fixed prices in the DMG.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dmg/treasure#Gemstones
That site has a hundred different generators depending on what kind of name you want.
The reason material components haven’t been added is probably because they’re very inconsistent.
Chromatic Orb needs a 50gp diamond. Raise Dead needs a 500gp one. Resurrection needs 1000.
And none of those match the defined price for a diamond in the Treasure chapter.
The randomiser pulls from a list that is independent of race, although I'm not sure which list it is exactly
Is there a way to update the base damage of an item on a homebrew weapon? I am trying to make a 4d6 greatsword but i cant get the 2d6 rollable stat to change it just adds a +2d6 off to the side. i tried adding melee weapon attack - slashing 4d6 and damage slashing 2d6 but neither of them changed the rollable number
You’ll probably have more luck with a custom action directly on your character sheet. Just go to the Actions tab and hit “Manage Custom” in the top right corner.
Sounds good!
Looks like that Randomize button hits DDB itself, passing an optional "race definition key". If they do call through to FNG, it happens behind the scenes. No way to tell which lists get hit.
Yup, it uses an API call to the FNG site, supplying the character's race as a parameter.
I ran into a strange issue yesterday which I'm not sure is a browser or D&D Beyond problem. I was using Google Chrome Version 99.0.4844.51 (Official Build) (64-bit).
I updated a character sheet and the updates wouldn't show when I would export the PDF; the PDF appeared to be an old version of the character before I made any changes. I found I could resolve the issue with an incognito window so it probably has something to do with the browsers cache but I don't know if the start of the problem was a DND Beyond issue or Google issue.
Yeah, the PDF gets cached for a short time by design.
Incognito mode bypasses your cache, which is why that worked (and will work again if needed).
Thanks I'll keep that in mind for the future.
Sorry if it's been addressed but I can't find any support on helping, I am trying to homebrew spells and get the spells to level but when I try it doesn't function correctly. Is there any tutorial or official video to watch to help?
The best general advice is to find an official spell with the same sort of level scaling. Then you can make a homebrew copy of it and see exactly how it was set up, and replicate that in your own homebrew.
What specifically is it supposed to do at higher levels?
A question I asked in #homebrew but may be more fitting here as it's a technical thing in Beyond. How would I go about making a Sub-Class that changes / replaces a core class ability such as a Warlock's Eldritch Blast?
Eldritch Blast is a spell, not a class feature.
But you're not able to replace any base class features regardless.
If you wanted a spell like Eldritch Blast, you can just create the spell and assign it only to the class you want.
I used the word ability loosely as I was curious about spells and other things
In short I was looking at making it so a Sub-Class would make it so instead of a Eldritch Blast they had a 'Eldritch Step' (In short a homebrew MIsty Step) Was looking at ways to make that happen because to my knowledge I cannot make Custom Base Classes in Beyond
Inside the spell is a field called "AVAILABLE FOR CLASS(ES)". Eldritch Blast has just Warlock listed there, which allows warlocks (and no one else) to choose that spell.
No Warlock is guaranteed to have Eldritch Blast.
You can put subclasses in that field, but it behaves differently. Essentially, the spell becomes always prepared for any member of that subclass -- in every campaign you're in.
It's usually not a recommended approach.
Come to think of it, I'm not even sure whether you can put homebrew subclasses in that field or not. 🤔
You can, I was playing with it earlier
I'm adding a few spells, the majority of them just add dice damage when scaling but that isn't reflected in later levels. I will check other spells like you suggested and work from there. Thank you
But yeah I will have more of a play, thanks
You need to add an "At Higher Levels" with "Additional Points". This one here adds an extra 1d6 for each level above 1st:
Ok. I was using a different value, not additional points. Thanks hopefully that's what I need to fix it
Just keep in mind that sometimes homebrew edits can take up to 15 minutes before they appear on your sheet.
So if it doesn't look fixed right away, just give it a sec.
so am I able to use the generator it uses without having to create a character?
Dungeons & Dragons name generator, names for the various races in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
Click on whichever race you want in there, and you’ll get a list of names
There are also a bunch of other generators there. Site’s great!
it is a good site but I want to use the specific one dnd beyond is using for the random name generator when you use a homebrew race
that isnt part of that list
That is the one D&D Beyond uses
If you're homebrewing a race, it'll pick a name the same way as if you haven't picked a race yet
so it chooses a random one from any of the races?
Yep
Another technical question for homebrew stuff, can I make it so I am able to make a sub-class give additional starting equipment?
You can put it in the text description, but there's not a way to have that gear show up in the starting equipment selector.
Damn, okay thanks
Hey y'all sorry if this has been answered - why are there only a few races that can be used for the homebrew variant option?
Figured it myself - can't use races from books that are only shared with you, must be books you own, ta-da
Yep. Shared character options are only available within the campaign that’s sharing them.
Since the homebrew system is not part of any campaign, it doesn’t apply.
I am making a copy of the Hexblade sub-class to see how it works adding CHA to weapons but it doesn't include it anywhere. Am I blind or is this a technical fault?
Neither. Hexblade was built from the darkest magics of the Shadowfell. Such powers are not for us mortals, I fear.
So, we can't access it? Was really hoping to add CHA damage to a subclass of mine
Yeah, that’s all coded in under the hood. It’s not accessible from the homebrew system.
Is that on purpose? Kinda screws over people wanting to make a homebrew that uses it sadly
Hey, I'm trying to help a player by adding stuff to her sheet - I haven't had this problem before but when going to her character edit screen in my campaign I don't see any of the options I normally see, and instead just see text:
I can't edit the stuff I need to edit, do you know why?
You have help mode turned on.
Use the arrow there on the right to proceed, or turn it off by clicking that blue question mark at the top.
It’s because it only applies to your selected hex weapon, and the ability to select a hex weapon had to be hard-coded.
Ahhhh nice thank you
I'm trying to add a modifier that changed armor class calculation to base + dex bonus + prof bonus when you don't have any armor equipped. What's the easiest way to do this?
There should be a modifier for Type: Set, Subtype: Unarmored AC.
Yeah I'm in there. Would I just set ability score to DEX? And is there a way to calculate with prof. bonus?
Hey sorry this probably seems like a really stupid question but I guess I missed an update to the app. What does the phone icon with a check mark mean?
Where are you seeing this icon?
@odd gorge @obsidian shore this channel is for getting help with the D&D Beyond tools. Please don't clutter it with off topic chatter
@odd gorge do you have a problem you need help with?
I think I really messed something up at my ability scores in the character sheets on d&d beyond. But I'm not sure what. I somehow ended up with a +20 on perception.
Do you have any homebrew items?
Yeah
Check those aren't set up incorrectly
That's the most common cause of issues like this
How do I do that still really new to the site tbh
Unequip all your Homebrew items. Then one at a time equip them and see if the features described matches what they do to the character sheet
@drowsy cave do you have external storage on your phone, like a memory card?
I've already tried that once to get it down to 20. It was only supposed to add +2 to perception roles when equipped
@odd gorge so you know what item is causing the issue?
Yeah I only have one homebrew item I made specifically for the character.
Well then you'll need to fix that homebrew item. We have a channel for discussing homebrew #homebrew
If you can't see it
?changes
Don't worry, your favorite channels aren't gone! We have changed our server somewhat, and there are some channels that are now only available to certain roles. Head over to #880965682462875679 to grab yours!
Thank you
No but I do have multiple devices
Is this screenshot from an Android device or iOS?
iOS
Ah, then that might be the in sync indicator showing the sheet on your phone matches online
so....I've just received this from the DM of my campaign. how would I go about adding it to my character?
Blessing of protection: you gain a +1 bonus to AC and saving throws
You can manually add those directly to your character sheet.
Or create a homebrew feat for it.
Hello, I have a Question about the Master tier subscription and wanted to ask If I understand that right. It says i can share purchased books with other players in my campaign. so does that mean If i got master-tier and got a player in one of my campaigns with no subscription. that he could for example read all of my Curse of Strahd Book and make his own campaign with the stuff? and that he can read about all the purchased races i got?
He’d be able to read everything, yes.
Any shared character options would be available only within that campaign.
So he wouldn’t be able to use those races in another campaign.
If he creates the campaign, you can share your materials with said campaign while he controls the campaign itself. Still means stuff needs to be created within that campaign, but allows him to edit player character sheets and manage encounters, etc. as the DM. Which is typically the better solution if he's the one who is supposed to be DMing
Yeah, anyone with the sub — DM or player — can activate content sharing for the campaign.
And once it’s active, everyone’s game content gets shared.
the thing is, i got every book because i bought the legendary bundle. so if their account is in my campaign and content sharing is on, they can click on "Source" and everything should be availabe for them?
Yes
Ok thank you all very much for the information 🙂
Hi, I'd like to purchase "Circle of spores" in the marketplace, but I can't find it in tasha's cauldron of everything's page, I feel so stupid right now...
Individual options are only available for purchase in the first source they were published in. In this case, Circle of Spores was first published in Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica
Thank you so much!
i had cancelled my subscription to dndbeyond on the fourth, but then activated it again the same day. the payment luckily still went through today, but i haven't recieved an email about this month's subscriber perks, is that normal?
Yeah, the perks usually don’t release on the first of the month.
can you tell me when the new perks will release?
I don’t think they’ve said.
It varies from month to month.
But whenever it’s made available, you’ll be notified by email again.
thank you
Hi, I have a Master subscription and a homebrew subclass isn't working properly. I have modified a sorcerer abeerant mind subclass's psionic spells, and while they show up without issue when I create the character, the moment my player claims in within the campaign, the level 1 psionic spells do not appear.
to be more specific, I cloned the abeerant mind subclass in creating the homebrew, then I went into the psionic spell list, removed the spells my player didn't want, and added the spells that they did. I then made sure to click the main orange save changes button, and it works when I create the character and view the character sheet myself, but when my player claims it, they're missing the level 1 psionic spells.
Hey! How can I enchant an armour or shield?
You would need to make a homebrew copy of the item and apply whatever enchantments or other changes you have in mind
Its the second time my party looses access to unlocked (shared by me) items such as races and subclasses etc.
I fixed it the last time by closing the campaign and reinviting them to a new one, but since my above vtt is connected to the campaign, id prefer not to have to do that again.
Any suggestions on why this is happening and how to fix it? All players are effected by it.
Was remaking the campaign the advice recommended by a mod or member or staff the last time it happened?
no. i just tried it that way and it worked
Well a few things to check:
- Have the players lost access to content everywhere or just character sheets (IE can they still access compendium content?)
- Are the characters in the campaign?
- Is everyone's entitlements in sync? You can verify this from the market place tab of your account
- Disable any extensions (including AboveVTT)
how do I make a spell on a weapon regain its charges back on a long rest?
like on the recovery type part, its just not letting me access it
@tiny comet you say the reset condition to be Long Rest for the items charges
You don't do it at the spell level
yeah thats what I did
its what I detailed right here when making it
It'll be purely descriptive, it won't reset automatically
but when I used the spell 3 times through the item they just don't come back when I long rest on the sheet
Yes, that is how it functions
how do I make them reset then? like from here
You restore the charges manually the same way you remove them
Click the item, click the charges back up
ah ok, I was looking for the charges on the spell for some reason
thinking about it. it is quite possible that both times it started with me buying some new content. So after i unlocked new items, they lost access to all of them.
I started doing some tests now on one of their accounts and it seems to work. no idea what changed
If the problem reoccurs Ill check on the things you suggested. Thanx.
I assume Content Sharing is enabled for that campaign, correct?
Can you have them check here to see if their account entitlements are in sync?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace
hey so im trying to create a homebrew scythe that does 2d4 slashing, 2 handed, finesse, and has reach
but i dont know how to add any of these things
it just seems like theres not an option for it
You cant homebrew mundane weapons, or change the damage die for existing ones unfortunately
rip
Your best bet is to add a custom action on the sheet for the attack with the weapon
right ok
Hi
Forgive me if this information is available somewhere, but I cannot locate it 🙂
I have enabled content sharing in my campaign, I only own one book in its entirety, the remaining content is a part of other sourcebooks.
My question is - will my players, be able to see content that I only partially own, such as one subclass or spell?
Yep, they'll be able to access it just as you can
For individually purchased options, those will appear in the listings and the character builder
Great, good to know. Thanks a lot for your help!
I am making some custom magic items and I have a question regarding modifiers. The idea is that the more charges a player uses, the higher the modifier. Is there a way for a user to manually input the modifier (either directly via number of charges or just by putting in a number)?
There's no way to do that within the system
How do I find the DM discussion page?
You mean the #dm-discussion channel? You’ll need to get the DM role in #880965682462875679 first.
Hi! is anyone having issues accessing the "my subscriptions" page on ddb?
I keep getting this message: "Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information)."
Are you using any browser extensions like ad-blockers, Beyond20, or AboveVTT? Try disabling those first and see if that helps. Also I recommend clearing your browser cache - sometimes the cache can get out of whack and cause issues. Clearing it and refreshing can help set things right.
I tried using a different browser and am still getting the same message
I do not have any ad blockers or extensions
@final trellis can you help me please?
(not sure if the ddb customer support is a joke or not)
Of my Campaign, I (the DM) am the sole subscriber (Master tier). Are Source books which the players of my party purchase shared amongst the party?
yes
Please do not ping random staff members. If someone is available to help, they will. While Joel part of our support team, you contact customer support through our ticketing system (and no, it is not a joke)
Hi all, tried looking through the forums and not had much luck. I'm making a HB weapon that has a couple of smite spells on it. The DM wants the DC to be set by the players STR score but I'm not sure how to do that? Anyone able to help?
You would have to write that in the deceleration, there's no way to automate that within an item
Thanks! I wasn't sure as I know there's way's to do some small amount of coding when homebrewing
You mean snippet code? To do that, you’d need to put {{abilityscore:str}} or {{modifier:str}} somewhere in the Snippet box… except items don’t have a Snippet box. :/
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/25930-using-snippet-codes-in-your-homebrew
You could potentially put it in a custom action directly on the character sheet, if you just want the text displayed.
Or pairing this item with a homebrew feat instead might give you more flexibility here.
So in the ddb homebrew creation for races, how would you get the Ability Score Increase and Lamguage to work correctly?
Say that Intelligence increases by 2 and Wisdom increases by 1, you out it down, but nothing happens
There's actually a recent article that gives the exact steps on how to do this! https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/1182-how-to-create-a-homebrew-race-using-d-d-beyond
Need
So I got to the point where you add the modifiers for the "increase scores by number" but it doesn't let me do that
@rancid meadow You're going to want to add a modifier with the following properties
Modifier Type: Bonus
Modifier Subtype: [ABILITY] Score (where ABILITY is Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma)
Fixed Value: The amount the ability score improvement increases the chosen ability score by
For example
So would you make an option for that to work right or no?
What do you mean?
Here's the section in the article that explains adding ability score increases
https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/1182-how-to-create-a-homebrew-race-using-d-d-beyond?#:~:text=the character builder.-,Ability Score Increases,-Every race is
If you're opting to have your homebrew race have baked-in Ability Score Increases (rather than the choices like those present in Tasha's races and onward), they don't need to be put behind Options
Options are for giving players a choice.
My apologies, I did not mean to break protocol. Can you please let me know how I submit a ticket?
Hi there - you can use https://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket to put in a ticket for additional assistance.
i own the entire Ravnica source book but dont see the Vedalken race anywhere
i retract my statment, DndBeyond is silly sometimes
Great! Thank you for the help. I have submitted a ticket
Hey guys, I am making a vtt for dnd, I want to link the character sheet button to dnd beyond is that ok? Idk if this is the approriate place to put this, but would like an answer! thanks
Any such thing falls against our ToS and if it causes any issues with the site's performance would get into trouble there. You would have no support at all, and changes that happen to the character sheet aren't done with the idea that anyone is trying to use it in any way that's against the ToS.
so if it just links to the page to Dnd Beyond character sheet creator is a no go
Ah, providing a web link is fine, I thought you meant connecting them.
My plan was, i have character sheet creator button, and it links to the dnd beyonds character creator not trying to link it anyway
Just trying to see if its fine
Providing a link is fine, trying to get the data from or to would not be.
yeah not trying to do thanks for the confirmation, will reach out again to show the function so i dont get into legal trouble
I will say this is not the place to get legal advice. You would instead want to contact D&D Beyond directly: https://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
thanks will reach out dnd beyond thank you guys !
i'm having trouble with the applied artificer infusions. I tried remoivng one, and it stays applied, and when I try to remove it, it gives me an error
This is only happening on the fourth infusion slot
What level do you have the Artificer set to?
it's lvl 15
even after decreasing the level or erasing the artificer levels altogether and recreating the levels, this still happens
The best way to fix it imo is starting from Lvl 1, and going back to Lvl 15 one by one
And setting everything for each level
But I'm not necessarily sure how to help
it still stays on the fourth slot, because by level 2 artificer you have four slots of infusions
That's gonna hurt considering the rolls it has
You can save them
Write them down and then re-add them after making it
So I have a new problem, in the homebrew race creation, I had to add Darkvision of 60, and after I followed every step correctly, it still didn't show the darkvision
Nevermind I fixed it
Hi. I'm new to the discord discussion here. I'm trying to give my party a sidekick with the Spellcaster Prodigy profile, but it doesn't appear to be enabled in the Sidekick side bar in Extras. Am I missing something?
You have to build the sidekick yourself using the homebrew tools
The only sidekicks you'll find ready made are the ones from Dragons of Icespire Peak
Aren't there the ones from TCoE
No, there are rules for turning monster stat blocks into sidekicks, but no pre-made sidekick stat blocks
How do class feature options work when making a homebrew subclass?
They only apply to the base class, so you don't have to worry about them
Oh, thanks!
hi there ! hope you're well
I just bought the french version of the dnd essential kit and it seems that in the english kit there is a code to redeem things on dndbeyond.com is it not the case in the french edition ?
I don't believe so. This would likely be because D&D Beyond only supports the English version of D&D publications
oh i see... too bad 🤷♂️
Hi, i got the master tier sub today and enabled content sharing for my campaign. But it seems like my players cant access the books if they click on sources and then the adventure they want to read. Can anyone help?
make sure they are accessing from within the campaign and that the entitlements are in synch
So they have to „view campaign“ and then they can check the content in the top bar with sources?
Is there a way to turn off the 3d dice on DNDbeyond? turning off Digital Dice rolling just makes you unable to roll the dice, which is not what I want.
like i dont want the graphic of the die to appear, i just want the number generation to occur.
Currently no. I really wish there was a digital dice roller without the 3d dice animation. But the current way it's built, the 3d stuff actually plays a roll in the randomness of the die roll.
Thanks for the help!
Getting a client side error when I click subscription link. Logged out of all my machines which didn't fix it. Rest of D&D Beyond and all my purchases are normal. Any suggestions?
Clear browser caches, turn off any browser extensions like ad blockers, Beyond20, AboveVTT, and refresh your browser and see if that clears things up.
Good ideas, but that was a whiff.
