Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.
The Account Entitlements section at the top should ideally say "Your entitlements data is in sync!" If not, it will show a button to manually trigger the sync, after which your content should be available.
Hi all! I'm a new player/DM and have gotten the 2024 players handbook so far. I was looking at getting Strixhaven and xanathars guide, would the subclasses and spells be accessible on dndbeyond 2024 characters? or would i need to enable 2014 legacy content to use them? also for custom backgrounds, do you just add the feat and ASI scores seperately to bring 2014 backgrounds to 2024 level? 🙂 sorry if these are silly questions, just dont want to spend £50 if i'm not really going to be able to use things
The subclasses would be mostly available. Some of the ones in XGTE have been updated in the 2024 PHB, so the older versions from XGTE work only on the 2014 classes.
But for the ones that weren’t updated, yeah, you can.
You’d need to enable Expanded Rules in order to use any character options from either of those books.
And for custom backgrounds, yeah, you can add those manually.
Or you can create a homebrew background.
is there a FAQ or breakdown for how D&D beyond works as far as license, books, campaigns, etc. works? I am a new DM and had previously purchased the 2014 gift set. My group had created characters via the d&d beyond app and we realized they were all 2024. I went out and bought the 2024 core rule books and am looking to run some more campaigns. I saw there was a bundle for physical and digital editions I could purchase...but I'm unsure what buying all 3 core rule books for 2024 actually does for me digitally. If I'm running these in person, what is the benefit of having them digitally? I see "beyond unlocks" but it states the same things for all 3 core rule books. Will all of my players have to repurchase all the books? Hoping there is an easy breakdown somewhere
Everyone can access the 2024 Free Rules and the 2014 Basic Rules for free.
For anything outside of those, either you need to have purchased the book yourself, or you need it shared with you through one of your campaigns.
Purchasing a book lets you read the book in full (as if you had a physical copy), and lets you use its character options and monsters throughout the site.
If a book is shared with you, you'll also be able to read it (unless the DM prevents that shared book from being read), and you'll be able to use any shared character options for character assigned to the campaign that's sharing it.
Any Master Tier subscriber in a campaign can activate Content Sharing for that campaign. Once it's enabled, everyone's purchased books get shared with everyone else.
That subscription lets them activate it for up to five campaigns.
If you did still want to use the 2014 character options, they'll need to remove any 2024 options they chose (like their class) and select the 2014 version instead.
Thank you!
How do 2014 books like Xanthar and Tasha and other campaigns work with compatibility on D&D beyond for people using 2024 characters?
they work, but subclass spells arent added yet
i just asked this too haha, i think you have to enable legacy content also? as far as i understood
Pardon my ignorance but wouldn’t that be a big issue?
I just have to remember my spells, but its a bit annoying yeah
That’s a known issue for older Paladin subclasses on the 2024 Paladin class specifically.
Oh just for pallies?
As far as I know, yeah.
I have a quick question with my DNDBeyond account. I'm trying to build out my character's sheets with them, one of them is an Arcane Trickster Rogue and another is College of Glamour Bard...but, I'm unable to select those options in the character sheets???? What am I missing here? To my knowledge the Arcane Tricker is in the 2014 Handbook and the College of Glamour is in XGtE, which is showing I own those??
Youre using the 2024 versions of the classes
To use Arcane Trickster or Glamour on the 2024 classes, you need the updated versions of those subclasses found in the 2024 PHB.
Is there a way to choose to not use the 2024 versions? LOL, I just selected the class in the character creation, I guess not realizing it defaults to 2024?
If you want to use the 2014 versions, you'll need to remove your classes and add the other ones instead.
not as of right now no to not use 2024
OH, yep it helps if I scroll down the Class page and see the 2014 options
Thanks y'all!
I think thats a sign that I need more coffee on this monday morning, lol
Just about everyone makes this mistake. Coffee or not!
is is possible to open the campaign map from the mobile app?
Is there a way to run Encounters on the Android app or is it web site only?
Web site only
I'm afraid not. Players would need to sign in on the website, or the DM can send an invite link instead.
What am I supposed to put in the attunement description? Whatever I put there doesn't make sense in either the notes or weird bar at the top and the examples don't clarify this for me. For reference, what I entered in the field at the time I took the screen shot was: "requirements: 14+ Wisdom. time: instant"
For example, if I change what I put in the description to "player" it would say "requires attunement by a warlock" which makes sense, but in the notes it would just say "warlock, damage, combat, light, thrown, vex" which makes absolutely zero sense
Imagine it like this:
(requires attunement by a <YOUR INPUT TEXT HERE>)
You put whatever in there that you want to be a requirement for Attunement. Generally, you can just leave it empty for most magic items.
sorry, I should clarify
How would I rephrase "requires a 14 or higher wisdom to attune and attuning is instantaneous" while also having it make grammatical sense in the bar at the top and in the notes?
Just put “You can attune to this item instantly without a Short Rest.” in the item’s text and put “creature with 14+ Wisdom” in the Attunement requirement.
There are artifacts that already do it this way in the game.
Yeah, that seems like the best approach
Hiii, is there someone active that can guide me a little bit about character creation? its actually kinda done, but its my frist time and i dont want to mess this up
#character-discussion can help you with that.
Something is wrong
Can you be a bit more specific about what's wrong (assuming it's related to DnDBeyond tools and services)?
Read #find-a-game to learn more how the LFG channels work (you don't actually post directly in them although you can use the threads attached to posts to indicate interest in a game).
When homebrewing a weapon, is it a bug, or is there a reason why certain modifiers are applied irrespective of being attuned? This is when all modifiers have Requires Attunement enabled. Specifically the ones I am aware of are: Weapon property, and Damage.
Some of it is likely coming from the base weapon item and if it's using strength/dexterity modifiers and proficiency bonus.
Hi all. I've got a warrior of shadow monk and wondered if there is any way to get D&D beyond to automatically mark off a focus point when I cast Darkness?
There isnt an automatic way to accomplish that.
ok thanks
is there a way to make a subclass feat for sorcerers that lets a user select from the wizard/bard spell lists (of their current spellcasting level) and be able to cast them an amount of times equal to their proficiency without spell slots used?
any and all help appreciated!
This is probably a question for #homebrew
thank you, will take it there!
I'm trying to play as an Umbral Binder Rogue but for some reason i cant see it under 2024 rogue only 2014?
Known issue with some 3rd party materials that the publisher has not yet updated to work with the 2024 updates.
So you'll need to use 2014 classes to use those materials.
oof 🥶 that sucks
thanks for the info!
Is there a way to make a Homebrew Dagger with 1d6 damage instead of the typical 1d4 and get rid of the Thrown property?
Make it a scimitar instead and change the damage type to Piercing damage is probably the closest you can do.
or a Shortsword
Shortsword has a different mastery property, so I think scimitar is closer, but yes.
does anyone know how to put a damage die increase on a magic weapon when creating a magic weapon item on dnd beyond
You can’t do that, unfortunately. Best to add it as a custom action on your character sheet instead.
ok
Custom Actions are not showing up on the Character Sheet @dire blade
You probably still need to select an Activation Type for it.
Hi, would anybody know why my player's character sheet on dndbeyond has an extra asi that shows as coming from origins even though everything is from legacy and expanded rules from what I see?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/143855625
the oath spells of Watchers paladin are not automatically prepared if I chose 2024 paladin
it's said to be somewhere on the to-do-list
apparently not very high priority
has been like that since 2024 rules were published
damn, guess I have to make a magic item as workaround?
also, there is no place to mark used channel divinity charges
I just made a homebrew-copy of the watcher subclass and added the spells myself. Don't get shown as "always prepared" on the sheet, but they are added to the spell list.
And on both my paladins i have check boxes under "limited use"
ohh that might work too
Could you share a screenshot?
And/or a link to that character? You’d have to make sure their Character Privacy setting is set to Public as well.
Yes here it is https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/143293112/W0emp0
He has it under the ability score tab @uneven lantern
All characters get a starting ASI, either through their race (in the old rules) or their background (in the new rules).
In this case, it looks like your player chose the 2024 Dwarf race and the 2014 Criminal/Spy background, neither of which normally have a starting ASI on their own (even though the actual character still should).
So the option you’re seeing there is basically just ensuring that character doesn’t get short-changed.
I have a player who is not receiving the full content share. Can see my hombrew item in manage inventory but isn’t getting all my sourcebook access. How do I fix this?
Make sure their entitlements are in sync and the character is in the campaign where that content sharing is enabled.
Entitlements?
Where is entitlements?
Under their account in the Licenses tab: https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
That was it, player wasn’t synced, thx
Hi I bought the Obojima sourcebook on DNDB, and I want to create a character using the new sourcebook. I checked 3rd party content, but when I go to make a character it only shows me the 2024 PHB subclasses and nothing from Obojima. How do I get it to hook into my online character sheet?
The Obojima subclasses are currently available on the 2014 classes.
1985 Games has not yet provided versions for the 2024 classes, but they’ve said it’s in the works.
As a workaround in the meantime, though, you could make a homebrew copy of the 2014 subclass to see how it was set up, then manually reproduce it on a homebrew 2024 subclass.
ty
Except that's not my experience 😦
Looks like we will just have to build the sheets manually with gsheet.
Wizard should have Origami Mage as a subclass option but it doesn't even recognize the Obojima content, despite having it selected and using the 2014 books.
That looks to be the 2024 Wizard given the subclass is listed as a 3rd level feature, rather than 2nd
You want to select the 2014 wizard
If you have the right wizard version selected, you get a very different list of subclasses than what's in your screenshot
Yeah, you’ll need to remove your existing class and add the other one instead.
Do Maps support images with transparency?
I was editing a map to change the color of the background to match the one the fog of war uses
So that when I show the rooms
The players don't get to see parts of the background
Maps supports standard web image formats like JPEG/PNG and PNG does support alpha transparency
I'm a DM that always runs my fights using the Encounters Tool on DDB, rarely have I had problems with it. However this current fight my party are in, all of the DMPC's aren't having their health updated in the Encounter. I'm making sure to edit the health on their character sheets for damage taken/healed and that still stays/saves and is accurate. However none of that is reflected in the initiative order health, which is very confusing for me. The players have theirs updated just fine though and I can also edit the monsters' health. For context, I've made each of the DMPC's regular character sheets and have added them to the Campaign/party and have had no problems with the health showing up accurately in an Encounter for them and my players before now. I've tried closing out my browser and exiting the encounter and re-entering, refreshing it and the character sheets and it still isn't reflecting what their health is actually at. Is there anything I can do to try to get it to work as it had before?
Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
Yes. I've checked on my phone which uses a different kind of browser. I've also tried re-creating the same encounter with same enemies, PC's and DMPCs using Maps because it was suggested to me at the top of my encounter page just today. I never use DDB's Map tool because my party always uses drawable in person maps n figures, but i figure if i can use it just for the Encounters function then that's fine too. Except that i'm still encountering the same issue even in maps. Can edit the monster's health, my PC's health automatically shows up as what it is on their character sheets (still lower from the fight from last session), however all the other character sheets are still at full, even though THEIR character sheets reflect the previous damage.
Well I feel silly. I just tried healing them and then damaging them again for the same amount and refreshing the Encounters page and it finally updates.
Just glad it works now xD don't know why it didn't before.
Glad it's working now, at least
Is there a way to add Action to a magic item?
nope, unfortunately
ah... guess i have to find a workaround...
You can add custom actions directly to the character sheet. If you want to distribute the item to your players and let them do it, you could put the instructions for said custom action on the magic item (not pretty, I know, but gets the job done)
i managed to do it by adding a spell, a workaround i found, it gets the job done, just hoping they will add the possibility to add action to magic items
Why do the books look like this now instead of how they should/did look like previously?
Is this on the website or mobile app?
Are you using Reading Mode in the browser?
Mobile app.
You can read books on the website?! Genuinely? /genq
Yes - you can read through the books via the website if you own the book or have access to it via campaign content sharing.
That’s genuinely awesome!
So what mobile device are you using?
Also have you tried restarting the mobile app?
I’m using IPhone 13. I have it updated to its current version. I’ve done that multiple times but it’s still the same
When you have the book open, in the upper right corner there's the 3 dots, and if you click that you can adjust the display settings.
You may have the settings set to Book. Try Clean or Dark and see if that makes it display better for you.
(in mobile app)
Even if I was to change the settings which I have done as an experiment just now, it’s still not how it used to be writing wise.
I do have it set to book because I’d want it to be a book look wise it’s still how I screenshot it writing wise
None of the other options like line spacing or font size is changing when I pick other options either
Hmmm - I'm not sure how it used to display for you previously so it's hard for me to figure out other steps to try and troubleshoot.
Have you re-downloaded the book?
No, I haven’t.
I don’t know how to explain how it looked before so you can troubleshoot.
It's tricky for sure but we're doing our best!
(and thanks for your patience!)
You’re welcome. My group last week had said that they’ve had problems with accessing the app but it had seemed to be working for the time being and that’s when I noticed the change in appearance of the book’s writing
I am trying the redownload the book idea you posed to see if that’s the issue
I need to step away but see if the re-download helps. If not, post here and others in the community may have other ideas.
And if needed, you can contact Customer Service

Ooh I got it!!!! So this screenshot is what it should look like in the mobile app, this screenshot is from the MacBook app version of Beyond, the original screenshot I posted is not how it should look like AND the settings like font size and stuff works as normal in the MacBook app version
I will say, sometimes the mobile app gets its cache corrupted and you have to delete and reinstall it to fix it.
This fixes weird coloring and font issues when it happens.
So my original screenshot is it having its cache corrupted? /genq
Yeah, I’d remove and redownload the book first.
And if that doesn’t do it, then remove and redownload the app.
I tried and that didn’t work.
Fair enough
That did it!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Silly question but I don't really know where to find an answer to it. When homebrewing a species, how do I add the block containing Creature Type, Size and Speed?
The first image is from the Elf, the second one is from my homebrew option.
I believe that is just a text box on the description filed of elf but you can always make a copy of it to double check how it was done
Oh, that's actually brilliant. Didn't even think of making a copy. Thanks!
does anyone know of a good guide on how to use the homebrew magic weapon creator on dndbeyond?
i would like to have a weapon that has a spell that can be used as many times as proficiency, but cant see how to do that
Your best bet would be to find an item that does something similar and make a copy of that item to see how it was set up
thanks, i have a look
Hey everyone, got a friend that is DM'ing and I have shared my 2024 monster manual through the campaign. When he tries to add a water weird it is fully greyed out. Any ideas why it is this monster and a few other are doing the same.
If this is for Maps VTT, it is a rare location where the user of the content has to also be the purchaser or it will be grayed out.
Hmm weird cause he can add other things to it without issue and I have DM'ed and added monsters from his books with not issue.
As to why some monsters would work, some monsters that appear in the MM also appear in Free Rules and Free monsters will be treated as owned.
May want to check sharing settings on the campaign. It is possible to disable specific content when sharing. It may be unintentional, but it does happen.
Yeah fair enough kinda sucks but guess it is what it is.
Thanks really apprecitate the assit.
For example, I don't share the adventure book in the campaign for the adventure I am running.
yeah that makes sense
The person who owns the campaign and the person who owns the content can check their settings. If they both unblock, it should show.
Your DM should be able to filter out content they don't own and thus is not accessible to them
why does ddb say unarmed strike dice as 1d8 for 7th level monk?
martial art dice at level 7 is 1d6 right?
If that's a 2014 monk, it'll be displaying the dice progression from 2024 monk due to a system limitation mentioned when the PHB 2024 released
oh ok, I just created a quick think to see if my manual character stats were correct. so if I am using just 2014 rules, it will be 1d6. but since ddb uses 2024 it is showing 1d8 right?
In essence, yes.
anyone know why for some reason specifically on my macbook it wont let me enable dice rolling for some reason?
like everytime i check the box it just unchecks it for me automatically and i cant use the digital dice
You need to enable hardware acceleration in the browser you're using, and I know if it's chrome, OSX will tend to disable that initially
thanks bro
i can finally dice roll on a laptop
is there a way to use the new versions of the character sheets that have come with 2024 on beyond?
why when making a magic item and i use the 'add modifier' tool, and select 'add feat' is the Chef feat not available?
also also, i have added a speel with charges to a weapon that should reset after a long rest. but when testing it and using the long rest the charges to not recover and i have to manually unselect them in the weapon details.
Long Resting only recharges Feats. Always did (at least the last 3 years since i use DDB).
Has to be on the known issues list already.
so its a known issue that long rests dont recover item charges?
I just tried the long rest, and it reset all of my LR features on my Sorlock
have you tried seeing how official items do it by copying them?
Items usually recharge on Dawn, not Long Rest. These do not always overlap, so DNDB doesn’t attach charge reset to Long Rests.
If I have the master tier sub, do my players need any sort of subscription so we can use the map tool on Ddb?
It may be the case for the properties you mention, i haven't tested every possibility. My specific example uses a Trident as base weapon, no charges. I add several modifiers, all with attunement required. Bonus - Magic works as expected. Weapon property - Finesse, and Damage - Lightning 2d8 are both visible in the character sheet, even when not attuned.
Only the DM needs the Master Tier subscription.
I've never got Feats to work in Magic Items. Try adding feat of Heavily Armored to a simple ring. It'll be easier just to add a feat manually in addition to your item. Alternatively, replicate each aspect of the feat in the magic item.
As that's not an actual mechanic in D&D, DnDBeyond won't support it.
You could create a homebrew feat and in the text description describe your super advantage mechanic. The player would have to roll the appropriate dice though.
Anyone know how to fix this issue of like, the content sharing feature just disappeared? I was looking at the 2024 free rules just yesterday and it was fine but today I lost all the additional subclasses and such
Are you still in the campaign with content sharing?
You can only use shared content within the campaign itself
I'm pretty sure I should be yeah, does having max characters slots remove that?
Ok not that, just tested it by deleting a character
You’re still in the campaign, or that character is?
Shared character options can only be used by characters in that campaign.
I have a character in the campaign yeah
Yeah but I mean like looking in the sources tab of the site, i saw all the content but now I only see the actually free stuff
The Free Rules will only show the free subclasses — one for each class.
If you want to see the rest, you should open the PHB instead.
But yesterday I saw the other subclasses like vengeance paladin, or wild heart barb
In the free rules, which is why i found it weird
Those aren’t part of the Free Rules. They’re in the PHB.
Ah, i see them now
Tho weird cause I swear I saw them in the free rules before as well
I don’t know, then. There’s no scenario I’m aware of that would cause them to appear in the Free Rules.
Fair enough, either way super sorry about this, thank you for your help and patience!
Sheet type did not match accepted formats.
Why can I not set up my Bean on avare?
Info Homebrew Race and Subclass, the 14 version works well and no trouble but the 24 does not so I assume it has to be the chronurgy class.. which is weird because I copy pasted as the options were and changed subclass from 2 to 3
Sheet: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/142680747
Works fine for me. #ddb-avrae-commands message
Anyone know why a campaign link from ddb would not be recognized as a campaign link by Avrae?
nm. Turns out you cannot use the shareable link, must right-click on "VIEW CAMPAIGN" from your collections menu and copy the link from there
That should probbly get added to the tutorial text
Huh weird 👀 does the !.beyond [link] command not work anymore
On 2 different devices, the "Manage Inventory" is bugged and neither loads or searches for any items. Just states "We could not load the list of items". And that's for all characters of mine I've tested with
Hey, y'all! It's my first time making a proper dnd character and I'm a bit confused about the oath. In my player book, it says I can choose between the Oath of the Ancients, Devotion or Vengeance. However, only Devotion is available. And since I'm new, I'm not quite sure which features belongs to the Oath of Devotion, that I should replace with the Oath of Vengeance. What should I do?
On DDB, you would need to buy the Players Handbook to get the other subclasses
I see. Thanks for the clarification
Need quick help a player can see through fog on dnd beyond vtt and I don't know why
If you have the physical book, you could also use the homebrew tools to recreate that subclass.
Yep. I do! I'll look into it right now
Which D&D Beyond VTT? Sigil or Maps?
If the VTT is another one such as Roll20, the problem is unrelated to D&D Beyond.
If it is Maps VTT, fog does not block vision at all (it is simply not possible to have fog block). If it is the 3D Sigil VTT, I do not know the answer.
@fickle halo - What homebrew creature are you trying to add?
And can I get a link to your character? I can try and see if there's anything standing out that would stop you from adding the creature.
Im trying to clear all caches real quick
Im adding two to have my DM decide if they are valid or not
Its a Blink Horse and 630 (Night Touched Panther)
How do I add a homebrew item to a character
It's considered a beast and I have beast master
Or would it not work like that?
Rules as Written you're supposed to use what the class feature gives you for the stats for your beast.
So this Blink Horse here? https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/2390486-blink-horse
Yes
I'm making a test beastmaster ranger to see if I can recreate your issue
I need to step away for a bit but I'll keep exploring this
tysm
Wait what level is your character? You don't get your subclass specialty until level 3 if you're using the 2024 Ranger (
= 2024 Ranger,
= 2014 Ranger)
Ah I think that's it
I am level 3
Could you look at my ranger build lol
Sure - let me see the sheet as maybe that will help me track this down
Trying something new with this
So... let's try something. Have you added those homebrew creatures to your personal homebrew collection?
Actually let me test it out with my test character
Build looks fine from what I can see.
18 wisdom level 3 but ima ranger
i'm hardcore going for the beast master side of things
Okay so open up the Extras tab (Actions/Spells/Inventory/Features & Traits/Background/Notes and then Extras - click that tab)
Then click the Manage Extras button
Then Add an Extra, then select Misc. then in the Filter look for the creature you added to your homebrew collection.
Once you've found it, click the Add button to add it to your extras tab.
That's now a creature you can refer to in the game (e.g. that can be what you use as your beast assuming the DM and group are good with it).
THANK YOU
Hey, y'all I just got the hero subscription and added a homebrew subclass to my collection. Why is it not appearing as an option for me?!
- Have you enabled homebrew content for the character
- Have you picked the right version of the class? 2014 homebrew won't display for 2024 classes and vice versa
- Is the character at the right level to select a subclass?
- Yes I did.
- I think so. Everything indicates the subclass is for 2024 classes.
- Yes, the character is level 3.
this is the subclass I added to my collection
That's a 2014 subclass, you can tell by the icon
2014 Paladin =
2024 Paladin =
Ahhh, thank you so much. I didn't know that. Is there anyway I can copy this subclass and modify it to 2024?
For example, this one
https://www.dndbeyond.com/subclasses/2232111-oath-of-annihilation
Only by hand
It was dnd beyond VTT one player could see the map fogged like I the dm could where as the other players had black areas and couldn't see through. Sorry for the late response they changed browser they were using on mobile and that seems to of been a fix.
It all makes sense now, my dm didn't specify to me that we were playing on 2014 rules. Sorry, I'm very new to DnD. I'll be changing my character to 2014 and see if that works!
If it's Maps VTT (the 2d, top down one) then the fog of war must be revealed manually by the DM. Until it's revealed, the fogged areas will display as black to the players
It should look like this, right?
That won't change your character from the 2024 paladin to the 2014 one, you'll need to scroll down and reselect your base class
Davyd, you're the goat. Thank you so much, dude
Everything works now. Thank you very much
I noticed the heroic warrior feature of a 10th level champion fighter in beyond has the 1 action next to it. To me this implies it takes an action to give yourself inspiration at the turn when you dont have it, but the players handbook doesnt state this requirement. Shouldnt beyond state no action for this feature.
So I just found out that buying individual parts of dnd books on dndb is no longer a thing, can I still get discounts on books I partially own?
Yes. You just need to reach out to customer support
awesome, cheers
what am I doing wrong that my ddb character exported to pdf is blank? thanks
Could just be your PDF reader/renderer. Try using Acrobat - if it doesn't render there then yeah, somethings up.
Ok thanks. Ill look into that.
added the acrobat extension to edge, no work, open in chrome, worked... thanks again
adding elven accuracy and mage initiate wizard both adding a +1 int... nets only a +1 int...
Has it been brought up that the Origin Manager feature for 2014 races is busted?
Busted how?
Could you share a link to your character? Please make sure in their character settings that Character Privacy is set to “Public”, too.
Like not working at all. I've got a player with a 2014 Tiefling and we tried to Manage Origin for setting her racial stats and it just doesn't pop up with another option to change it
please note i customized the int to account for the missing +1
You’ll need to change their Character Privacy to “Public”.
sorry should be good now
You’re using the Magic Initiate from the 2024 PHB, which does not increase any ability score.
And actually, the 2014 version didn’t have any ability score increase either.
So either way, that’s working as intended.
What background did they choose?
If it’s one from the 2024 PHB, the rule is to ignore any ability score increase from older species.
Criminal/Spy
Could you share a link to your character? Please make sure in their character settings that Character Privacy is set to “Public”, too.
Any chance you can also share a screenshot of the origin manager?
ah thank you... its just select an ability for the spells... not increase it too... makes sense.
Everything looks set up correctly. When you switch back to Species Traits, it’s not letting you select your ability scores?
Correct
I don’t know, then. It’s working fine for me.
Very strange. Glad it’s there, though!
Maybe a temp glitch. Thanks for helping
Has the ddb encounter builder not been updated for 2024 ruleset?
When building an encounter for a party of 5 lvl1 characters, it is telling me that 4 goblin warriors is a hard encounter
And that is a lie
At least according to the xp budget method of building encounters as described in the 2024 DMG
the encounter builder itself is in 2014 yes. DDB maps is in 2024 though. (Also, be do warned thatlevel 1 combat can be extremely squishy, it can go both ways)
Yep that is good advice for sure
I would use the maps app if it would actually load my adventure modules.
might be a cache issue
Oh how do I fix?
typically clearing extensions and restarting the program
Why True Strike is adding my cha mod? I'm getting something wrong?
If you have Pact of the Blade on the weapon you're using, that's where the CHA is coming from. True Strike doesn't actually add any damage until level 5.
It does let you use your CHA instead of STR/DEX, so that would also mean it gets CHA added to it (which means True Strike isn't worth using until level 5 if you have Pact of the Blade, as they both do essentially the same thing, but then you can get Thirsting Blade if you wanted which would be more damage than True Strike if both hit).
Hey guys, i’m trying to homebrew a background here, and in this new edition, how do i make the choice between the attributes to chose 2/1 or 2/1/1?
I don't think the Ability Score choices are available on homebrew backgrounds yet.
hmmmmm i see, thx
Does anyone know when we should see or expect the release of SRD 5.2? It’s been a while and I still haven’t seen any updates
Is it possible to grant multiple spells in one listing under spell mapping? I'd like for them to share charges
It's showing up as a choice in the builder instead of granting the spells
Can a class feature be granted charges like an item or nah?
LaTia stated in the forums that they are working on it.

is there a way when homebrewing to add the players wisdom modifier to their CHA skill checks? (making a subclass)
Hi, I was using the DDB app yesterday for a game i was playing in (first time using it at table) and I was adding items to my character and suddly it was say could not load Items (or something cant remember the exact words) I come out and tried to load up the character again and it wont load. still wont load today. I can load it in the web browser, I can make a copy of it the DDB app can open but the app cant open the original character, is this a known bug and how do i fix it?
Is anyone well versed in creating homebrew stuff on D&D Beyond? I got some subclasses made already I just don’t know how to really insert them into Beyond so that it functions like how it’s supposed to function, yknow?
Can anyone tell me why I am getting this now?
I've made like 100 of them. Make sure you're creating them for the appropriate version of the class you want them for. If you're not seeing them, you either made them for the wrong one, or you selected the wrong one when looking for it.
The best way to get an idea on how to make subclasses is to make copies of official subclasses and see how they are set up.
sorry just jumped in here to read about this. just want a clarification if i'm sharing all my content with players in a campaign can they actually read the books or is it only available in the sense of creating their character?
They can read the books. If youre worried about them reading an adventure module, you can turn off sharing for that book
a player is saying they're having trouble actually getting to the book. but it should be available under sources right?
Have them check to make sure their entitlements are in sync
on it

Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.

thank you both. looks like they're good to go now
If I'm making a custom magical item, say a dagger, and I want it to give my rogue a special spell they can use once a day through this items, is that in the capabilities of dnd beyond, or do i have to homebrew a version of the rogue subclass that has that homebrew spell?
I believe it should be possible. Try asking in #homebrew and the community should be able to help you out
Been like that for some time now. For all the chars I try to manage inventory from the app. Any fix or ETA on fix?
Did anyone else lose their subscription to D&D beyond?

Is there a way to switch ownership of a character do a different user? I want to make my PC play as a different PC for aprils fools
Yep
- Make sure the character is in a campaign accessible by both users
- User 1 unassigns the characters
- User 2 claims the unassigned character
- Optional: User 2 removes the character from the campaign
Note that the character will still count against user 1's character limit between steps 2 and 3
Don't know I theseare the right channel but a few days ago I bought the illrigger revised and have it online however I woke up today to find that Google pay says that my order was cancelled I already had the online content it is also telling me that it will be refunded which I don't want unless it has actually been cancelled (the email came form Google pay but I spoke to teg support team there and they said it was something the developers had done)
Any help would be appreciated in sorting this out

I unfortunately have no insight into CS response times. I will say please make sure to double check your spam filters as emails from CS might be missed otherwise.
Ok no worries thanks for the help
Did you resolve this? My workaround is to switch to a different browser for a while. It's frustrating. I think DDB's session authentication code needs seeing to. "Press & Hold" is one symptom, I've seen missing graphics as another. The usual response you get in forums is to clear your cache but that makes you feel like it's you that is doing something wrong.
I canceled my Master Tier account on March 8th, I have an announcement on the accounts page that my free trial for the Hero Tier will expire on the 4th and I will be charged a semi-annual amount of 14.99 (CAD I'm assuming) but i CANCELED my account. I don't want to be charged. I'm hoping I'm not the only one and something has been recommended to resolve this?
Did 'Hold Back the Dead' get removed from the marketplace? I can't seem to find it. When I search the market place for 'Hold Back' the only thing that returns is the Grim Hollow Player Pack.
it was a limited run thing iirc
Do we know if they are planning to remove it? I had claimed it but my run for that is a month or two out (want to know if I should cancel / accelerate)
It won't be removed if you've already claimed it. It's part of the new core rulebooks / anniversary celebration.

is anyone here familiar with homebrew subclasses? trying to make something work and cant figure it out for the life of me.
what is the issue? You could try making a copy of an official subclass and see how its formatted
I usually do that but i cant think of anything similar to what im trying to do lol
I am making a melee sorcerer that uses a big hammer. I want the hammer to use your spell attack/damage which i think ive figured out. But I also want it to detect bloodwell vial or any other items that might increase your spell attack/damage
in the end you could just customize the spell attack which is easy
but if I could figure it out it would be nice.
I don’t think that’s possible.
Every time a new partnered content/book comes out, it seems to automatically be enabled for my characters. Is there a way to stop it from doing that? I haven't even purchased them.
is there any way to add a second attack per attack action via homebrew subclass?
nvm i may have figured it out.
ok nvm it isnt working. anyone know how to add an additional attack to a subclass?
ok...
ugh... So if I add the second attack as an actual class feature it displays correctly but the issue is you get this at level 5 which sorcerers arent supposed to get actual subclass feats at 5
when I try to add it as a class feature option to a different class feat it just doesnt affect the character sheet.
is there a way to get Valda’s Spire of Secrets: Player Pack to work for 2014? i can only get it to work for 2024
Valda's Spire of Secrets: Player Pack - Issues and Support Thread
2024 RULES
This player pack uses the new 2024 rule set. All the new sub-classes, species, feats, spells, and magic items utilize these new rules. Sub-classes included in this player pack are not compatible with 2014 classes.
I see you also posted this query in the forums, where the above information is taken from
It's always best to check the Release Issues and Support subforum first for book issues
thanks
If you really do want to use it on a 2014 class, you could make a homebrew copy of the 2024 subclass to see how it’s set up, then manually reproduce it onto a blank 2014 subclass.
That’s a thing?
someone has already made it into a homebrew thanks for the sugestion
They should not have. Users are only permitted to publish their own original creations.
If you do follow the advice above, the subclass you create should be for private use only.
i found one on dndbeyond made for the 2014 version of rogue
How would I go about implementing D&D beyond for my in person table games as a DM? Everyone has their character sheet on D&D Beyond, but we've been using physical maps, minis, and dice rolls. I want to level things up a bit and am looking for ways to introduce more QoL tech to the sessions
I would suggest checking out the DnD Beyond Maps Tool. I use it for my maps and minis while my players still roll physical dice
The folks in #dm-discussion can probably give you some more tips as well. (This channel is basically tech support.)
Gotcha thanks!

What does the (...) mean in the Damage/Effect description of a spell on DDB? If it is a symbol to mean "there wasn't enough space to put everything in here" where do I find that full info? Whilst it's often the same or similar to the tags of the spell that's not always the case so it's clearly not that.
It does mean insufficient space and the information would be found in the full spell description

Sorry it's so late, but when I choose a species with a ASI ala Mordenkainen Presents and a 2024 PHB background, the latter doesn't overwrite the former.
I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but when I choose the new Great Weapon Master, it gives me the wrong bonus to damage.
I have a +2 prof bonus, but it only adds 1
Do you have a link to the sheet? If I had to guess though, my suspicion is you have a negative modifier from something you may not realize.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/144164333/pkTb1I
Maybe so, just wanting to check real quick 🙂
The normal damage is 1d12+3, i thought it should be +5 after not +4
I don’t have it selected right now but I can if needed
If you can, yeah, I want to see what it shows.
There
So, I think I might know the issue.
GWM gave you +1 to STR which happens to make your strength 18 now. As a result you now have a +4. The +1 you are seeing is coming from the higher STR score.
In effect, it's not adding +1 for GWM, it's adding nothing for GWM.
So it should be +6??
Do I just need to add the damage manually or by a snippet then?
I thought because it’s not the usual -5 +10 anymore it would do it itself, but that explains it 🙂
+6 would be correct.
What I'm not sure is whether Beyond just does not add it. Need to check one of my own Barbarians.
My guess is that it's intentionally omitted because that bonus doesn't always apply.
yeah, the GWM bonus onl applies on the Attack action attacks
And even then, it's a "you can", which means it's technically a choice.
(Though I don't know why anyone would choose otherwise.
)
My Barbarians aren't doing it either.
If it helps, in the old days of GWM, I used to add a custom magic item (homebrewed) that just added the -5 to-hit and +10 to damage. I would "equip it" when I was doing the trade off shot. In the new system, you could create one that you could turn on to add the new damage for GWM. I make them as Artifacts so they sort at the top of the Inventory screen and can be easily adjusted.
That does actually sound like a neat idea, thanks 🙂
I need some help with the app. Some of the books I have access to just won’t let me download them and fail right after it finishes “preparing”. My app is up to date, I have tons of storage space, and there isn’t any obvious pattern in what books let me download them and what doesn’t. Anyone know how to fix this?
Is that on iOS or Android?
iOS
When I use the dndbeyond website on my Iphone browser, specifically Safari, the prompt to confirm or deny changes in the character builder appears under the search bar where I'm unable to tap it. Is there a way to resolve this issue?
I assume if I cancel my auto-renewal for hero tier of DDB, I’ll still have access to all my characters until 12 months after my latest purchase?
Your subscriber benefits will still be available for as long as you've paid for, yeah.
I figured but hey never hurts to ask lol
DnDbBeyond. This is the channel for getting technical help with it
DDB is the official abbreviation for D&D Beyond.
Is there a maximum amount of higher level scaling effects you can have in the homebrew spell builder? I’m running into an issue where I can’t have more than 20, but idk if that’s a problem on my side or if it’s the system
Not sure anyone here would even know, tbh.
Why would you need more than 20, though?
Scaling all the damage types that chromatic orb has, but making the die go up one step at 2nd level, and every 2 levels after that
im a divine soul sorcerer and it says i can replace bane when i got it for being chaos in divine magic, but it wont let me so
There’s an easy fix of just doing it with acid so the damage die shows as being updated at the right levels, but it doesn’t look as nice when looking at full spell in your spell book
Is there any word on when Invocations like Agonizing Blast, and Repelling Blast will updated/fixed? Its been months.
Still need help with this
Heya I've come across a weird bug while I was trying to port the subclasses from Obojima to the new 2024 rules, for some reason when I try to make a homebrew version of "The Lantern" warlock subclass I get send to the error 500 page.
I've try a bunch of different things like clearing my catch and turning off my extensions but nothing seems to work.
I did manage to make homebrew versions of other subclasses within the book, so it seems it's a weird one off case?
Any ideas how to fix it?
It's a bug that's not been fixed for years. This thread discusses some workarounds, and is quite amusing as people talk about this bug as having a badge of honour, and also Divine Souls as being more divine if they retire at level 20 without ever using their Bane spell.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/11936-divine-soul-sorcerer-swapping-divine-magic-spell
Hello all,
I have a player in my campaign who would like to swap Cure Wounds (Good align Divine Magic spell) with Healing Word. Beyond does not allow her to ...
That's a known issue, and I'm afraid it's one without a good workaround.
The only alternative would be to rebuild it from scratch.
Good luck! And if you get stuck along the way, we're happy to help.
Why would the Dungeon Delver feat not show as an option for my character? 1st level Human variant rogue
Have you purchased the 2014 PHB, or is your character assigned to a campaign where that book is shared with you?
Do you have 2014 Core Rules enabled for that character?
Are your entitlements in sync?

jeez, do you think my DM would just let me change it manually but not on the app? cus i really dont want bane lol
Well... Ask your DM. ? Send the links and info you found too. I bet your DM would be fine with it.
Yeah, your DM should allow it if they're playing by the rules; it's just a limitation of D&D Beyond's systems.
How many campaigns can you create on D&DBeyond? I'm not talking about sharing content, just creating them. I want to set up my future games using AboveVTT plugin.
Is there à right way to make the Vigorous feat homebrew?
Like, normally the inicial hp bonus i put based on the level the character is in the moment… but there is a more precise way?
And, there is a way of making a Origin feat homebrew?
Couldn’t say without knowing what it’s supposed to do.
And I’m afraid not. You’d just have to leave your origin feat unselected, and then manually add your homebrew feat to the character instead.
It gives hit points equals the double of your current level when you get it. And then +2 hit points every time you get a new level
Hallo! New DM looking to homebrew a bit. Does anyone know the difference between a variant species and an option?
A species option is what used to be known as a subspecies.
Like the 2014 elves or dwarves.
Each one adds on to the traits of a shared parent species.
(Nowadays, these are typically designed as choices within the species instead.)
A variant species, on the other hand, doesn’t inherit any traits from the parent species. It just follows its own rules.
Like the 2014 variant human.
Gotcha
Variant is like starting from scratch but with the "human" name?
I assume if I want to carry over most of the basic "human" traits, I'll want to choose option
A human species option would give them everything the base human includes, plus whatever that specific option includes.
Perfect. Thank you!
welp im stuck on the Tool Proficiencies and custom skills part in roll20 can someone help? (if your asking why im not using dnd beyond for the character sheet its because its more confusing when i pulled up the blannk sheet download)
This channel is for getting help with D&D Beyond, though.
You could try asking in #third-party.
Why is Yuan-TI Pureblood not an option in character creation; i have the books and everything up to date on account entitlements.
Did you tick "Legacy" on the "Home" tab of the character in question?
Also, in the Species section, make sure you scroll down past all the other species to the very bottom as Pureblood is usually the very last one. Note that if you see "Yuan Ti", you have not gone down far enough as Yuan Ti is in the Expanded rules section but Purebloods are usually 2 sections down in Legacy.
this keeps happening as im trying to make a subclass
but only with path of the mussle wizard subclass im trying to copy it to 2014 for my campaign
I was trying to gift a book to someone and I dont see the key to give it to them?
Should be listed here. If it's not in an email.
Does anyone know how to get/make the oathbreaker subclass?
It’s included in the 2014 DMG.
Does the DNDBeyond character sheet have any support for Wildshape? Is there somewhere on it where I can select a viable form from my available books and use its statistics?
Because my DM has a bunch of books that I can only look at via the campaign so if the sheet doesn't support it I'm gonna have to work something out with regards to my wildshapes
Yeah, in the Extras tab.
Thanks, found it!
Does anyone know how I can speak in #looking-for-dm ?
Ok, thank you 😊
Does anyone know why manage inventory just doesn't wanna work? Every time I use it it takes forever to load before either kicking me out of the app or saying these items could not be loaded
Does it occur on a specific character or all of your characters?
I have player that cannot do anything in their app for inventory. I can do it for them but it will not load for them. Would be interested on what they can do to get it fixed.
In my experience its been a cache or connection issue
restarting the device or clearing the cache typically helped
All of them, when I go to edit character and add items it works just fine
Clearing out my cache won't delete any of my characters or sign me out of ddb will it?
Sounds like you have something like an Extension blocking the JavaScript on the page, honestly.
I'm on phone not PC
Oh, mobile app? Try reinstalling it.
I've had it end up with corrupted data after OS updates or similar things. Reinstalling fixes it for me.
Mkay
when in doubt, kill it then revive it
I reported same issue few times. 2 different devices, same results. Don't think there is any fix not I am sure that Devs are even made aware
Same thing here it happened on two different devices so I think it's just an issue only the devs can fix
Literally working for me right now, so I don't know what to suggest. Might be a device problem or something wrong with the character. For technically involved stuff like this, I have the most luck talking to customer support.

Is hardware acceleration turned on in your browsers settings? That's required for the dice to be fully functional
let me check
it is on but when i click to roll a dice it goes up in the lower left for a random roll not skill check and when i press roll there it doesnt do anything
its the same thing on all characters
okay swapping dice made it work
is there a way to change the portraits for things in the extra category i got a Artificer Homunculus and a Scribe Wizard Manifest Mind in there I want to change the portrait from dthe efault.
Create a homebrew copy of them and add the homebrew copy (with the new avatar) to your Extras instead.
Is there a way to embed a URL on my sheet so I can just click to open a link?
Yes using standard html code (click the </> button on a text field that has the toolbar) and then add in standard html for a link (<a href="URL">Text for Link</a>)
Where would I find the </> button, what kinds of fields support it?
Oh on the character sheet? Not sure if that's actually possible. I was thinking more of the fields for homebrew items/creatures/spells.
Could create a homebrew feat to do it and add to your sheet but that seems a bit weird
lol, make a custom copy of a spell and embed it
I like the Feat Idea
I made myself a flowchart for my Monk, eesh, so many possible combinations
I can't even post this on the actual site forum because it keeps autodeleting my posts and replies. So, trying YET AGAIN..
I've had to retype this now due to having to 'log in' AGAIN to post this, so I'm going to keep this slim unless asked otherwise.
Long story short, every time I try to go to my character list or create a character, I get spat back onto the Character Creator landing and treated as if I'm not logged in. Every other part of D&DBeyond treats me as I am, a logged in user. I'm at a loss for words and not sure what to do now. I've already tried:
- Logging out & back in
- Migrating from a pure-Twitch login to a Wizards login
- Turning off adblock
- Switching from Firefox to Edge
- Waiting a day to see if it was just temporary
Has anyone had similar issues happen?
Sounds like the kind of thing that will end up in a chat with Wizards Support but I would try how ever your browser does safe mode and/or a complete disabling of all add-ons, plugins, etc. If it works with everything out, you can then proceed to work out what is interfering.
Login disappearing could also be anything present that removes site storing information like cookies. You should probably check that in the browser protections, as well as in your A/V / Antispyware / Firewall programs.
Yeah, like Cal said, I'd try those steps and then contact support if you still can't get things to work.
do i need to own the sourcebook for creating homebrew version of monsters?
Happens in both Firefox and Edge. Guess I can try Chrome or my phone
Just Windows Defender, here. Beyond that, I just try to avoid obvious scams. Not sure what would trigger.
Okay, nope, it even happens on my PHONE.
Swapping off of my wifi and onto the mobile network, in case our router was somehow eating D&DB packets thinking they were malicious, also didn't work.
Off to the ticket station I go.
Yes, making a homebrew copy of anything requires you own it
You can manually recreate stuff as private homebrew, assuming you have access to it physically or in some other form, but it's obviously not as easy as just making a homebrew copy of something you already own on DDB.
I bought Glory of the Giants recently so I could get the Rune Shaper feature. What's bothering me is that I can't find it anywhere in the actual features list for me to grab? I've heard from others that, "the feature still works, it's just that you have to place your runes in manually." The feature is just, not showing up at all for me though. Can someone help me figure out what's going on?

Do you have Expanded Rules enabled for that character, and are you looking in the Expanded Rules section when selecting your feat?
Does your character meet the feat’s prerequisites?

So I bought the Valda’s Spire of Secrets: Player Pack and I found a Drunkenness Level table somewhere on dnd beyond. I can't find it anywhere. Now I have a picture of the page but not all of the text does anyone know what happened to the text or table or anything? It 1000% not homebrew this was in a book and its not in the book anymore. help?

SAVIOR!!!! THANK YOU!!!
I'm a brand new baby DM and I hated modules so I just made my own world and drove in head first. I've got planned a pub crawl for the opening of my game and the players will be cell mates. I played a 10-20 campaign with them so they won't resist pub crawling to start.
Trying to make a custom magic item. I have the description already but idk how to properly add it to dnd beyond for my charecter sheet. anyone able to help?
The Shredder
Lute
Requires Attunement
As an action, you can strum this lute to project a magical wave of sound at a creature within 60 feet of you. Make a ranged spell attack against the target using your Charisma modifier.
If you are proficient with lutes add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll.
On a hit, the target takes magical slashing damage equal to 2d8 + your Charisma modifier.
it's a lute but idk how to write it in dnd beyond so it shows up as an attack action
It’s not possible to add actions to magic items.
But you could create a custom action directly on the character sheet to go with it.
Just go to the Actions tab and hit Manage Custom in the top right corner.
bummer
that's dumb
what about how to make a magic ranged weapon deal 2d6 slashing dmg
Hi
i want to purchase several digital content in D&D beyond is there any code i can use for discount?
No, D&D Beyond hasn't done discount codes for a few years now. Instead it does sales
Btw is there any guide to use maps and encounter effectively ? can we do target in maps so damage can be auto calculation on player / monster HP instead of deduct manually?
D&D Beyond Maps: How to Start Playing Today < Maps tutorial article
And Maps doesn't support that level of automation
I want to make a feat that just allows me to add new spells to the spell list. No free uses or anything like that, just extras to the spell list that can be cast with spell slots. If I just leave all options empty, it makes the new spells "At will" instead of costing slots. Which option works for it?
I don't believe feats support that, but backgrounds and species do (Ravnica backgrounds and Eberron Dragonmarked species both add spells to your spell list)
Subclasses can do it, too.
Odd distinction as feats like Fey Touched also add spells to the spell list on top of giving a free use of them.
That's because they're set up differently
There are (AFAIR) no official feats that add to your spell specifically
Telepathic I think has specific text that says you can cast detect thoughts with spell slots.
Technically it doesn't say "Detect thoughts is added to your spell list", but still, the spell slot use is there
Magic Initiate says "You learn to cantrips of your choice" and then "You always have the spell prepared".
Neither of those are adding options to your spell list, they're granting the spell with both a feature-limited casting and the ability to cast it using spell slots
Adding something to your spell list works very differently; you don't automatically learn the spell, it just becomes an option to pick whenever you gain or change a spell
Official options that add spells to spell lists are subclasses, backgrounds, and species
Which is what I said. The functionality I'm looking for is a feat that lets you learn spells that can be cast with spell slots.
no, you said
allows me to add new spells to the spell list
This is not the same as
lets you learn spells that can be cast with spell slots
For that, just copy a feat that already exists that does that and modify it
gonna try it
Fey Touched would be one such example (both the 2014 and 2024 versions)
It's not possible to create a homebrew feat with a spell that uses a spell slot.
The devs can do it; us lowly mortals cannot.
I created a copy of Fey Touched and it has nothing but text... no spells, no modifiers, nothing.
Telepathic only has 1 modifier where it adds telepathy as a language
How strange... spells can have unlimited use, a specified number of uses, but can not be tied to spell slots. Maybe something that'll change eventually.
is there a way to sort the campaigns on the My Campaigns tab? I'd like the ones I own to float to the top if possible
Yeah, click the blue text at the top, under "Campaigns", then switch it to "DM first".
Per the Dragon Delves preorder:
Pick up The Ultimate Bundle by choosing Digital + Physical when you add this book to your cart to receive special digital bonuses:
- Dragon Lairs Digital Map Pack, featuring 5 additional maps and 10 exclusive stickers for your dragon-themed adventures
- Ancient Golden Dragon digital dice
- Does this mean digital preorders receive no bonuses or incentives on their own?
- Will the "Dragon Lairs Digital Map Pack" be available separately at all?
- Are the contents of the "Dragon Lairs Digital Map Pack" locked to Maps or are they downloadable/printable images like in a regular book?
- There are no preorder bonuses for Dragon Delves. (The extra items in the Ultimate Bundle are simply part of the bundle itself; they're not a preorder bonus.)
- Yes, the Dragon Lairs Digital Map Pack (and the Ancient Gold Dragon Digital Dice Set) can be purchased separately.
- I don’t know.
Great, thanks. Bummer to lose out on DNDB preorder bonuses. I'm not terribly incentivized to preorder now haha. Will be interested in the answer to (C) because if the maps are downloadable and usable physically I'd be much more inclined to do the bundle to get them, but if they're for the Maps tool only then I am much less interested.
Is the legendary bundle discount no longer a thing? Getting Dragon Delves digitally is coming up the full price ($29.99) all the way through the checkout process and receipt.
The devs are looking into it.
If you’ve already purchased the book (digital only) and didn’t get your discount, I’d recommend contacting customer support.

I'm not seeing the "blue text' you mentioned, can you post a screenshot?
Sorry, I thought you were asking about the app.
I don’t think that’s possible on the site itself.
Oh well, thanks anyway
Sorry to repeat the question, but to get the bonuses, I would need to get the Physical + Digital Bundle? (not entirely sure what Ultimate bundle refers to)
Also, how does that work for use who dont live in the US?
The Dragon Delves Ultimate Bundle includes the following four items:
- The physical copy of Dragon Delves
- The digital copy of Dragon Delves
- The Dragon Lairs Digital Map Pack
- The Ancient Gold Dragon Digital Dice set
Those can all be purchased separately, but getting the bundle yields a steep discount.
I haven’t heard yet how this change applies for international orders, but I can try to get clarification tomorrow.
Ah ic. And that would be great for the International orders part!
-# On a seperate question, not sure if this is relevant or anything, but how is thei affected by teh tariffs? Or is that not something that you guys can say
that would be great, thanks spam!
I’ve been told international orders also get the map pack and dice. Tariff impact still TBD.
Yeah
roger roger, thank you!
my character got a curse that isnt in the game normally and also has mechanical effects on it. how do i add it to the dndbeyond sheet?
I’d probably use a homebrew magic item or feat to represent it.
But it probably depends on the specifics of this curse.
Question for someone more knowledgeable on the Homebrew Species creator than I am:
Trying to create a "mutant" species option that will be able to have multiple mutations, so I decided to build off of the Simic Hybric as a base.
However, during the character creation process, my Mutant is only showing the ability to pick 1 option whereas the Simic Hybrid can pick 2 options. I've poured over the two species creation pages and cannot for the life of me figure out why I'm not getting 2 options. I even had some of the options set to a different level like how Simic Hybrid has some set for 1st and others set for 5th level.
Look for a field called “Character Levels Where Options Known”
If you put 1,1,5 there, as an example, they’d get two choices at level 1 and one more at level 5.
... huh. I'll be honest I saw it was blank on the Simic Hybrid so I wouldn't have thought that was it at all.
If it’s blank, they just get one choice whenever they unlock the feature.
IIRC, Symic Hybrid has its options split between two separate features.
So you get one choice from the first feature at level 1, and a separate choice from the other feature at 5.
Battle Master would be a good one to compare to if you want to see that field in action.
Strange. On the creator the "animal enchancement" feature for the Simic Hybrid is all one feature.
I might also suggest asking in the #homebrew channel if you have further questions about creating homebrew, as they may be better able to help you
I wasn't entirely sure if this belonged in which channel more, and went with this one as it was more about the mechanisms of the site. I'll keep that in mind going forward!
Yeah, I got that wrong. 😅
I guess it’s just not copying that field for some reason. I’d expect a 1,5 there.
Maybe it's some weird input thing between the species being a regular option and "copied" for homebrew stuff. 🧐
Thanks for the help though!
This channel is good if you have trouble with some part of the site and need mod/staff support, #homebrew is better for getting help from the community itself
Hello! I have a stupid question about D&D beyond
our gm has rolls default set to show everyone
however it never shows us the rolls, and goes back to self rolling, no matter what
(pls ping me if you reply)
Are you using any VPN, ad-blocker, or other web extensions (Beyond20 or AboveVTT) that could interfere with DnDBeyond functionality?
Disable those.
Might also be a good idea to check to make sure hardware acceleration is enabled for your browser and even try clearing your browser cache and restarting your browser.
I've got a spell which does 8d6 damage at spell level 5, I've got this for its 6th level upscale, but when cast at spell level 6 it only shows 2d6 for the roll on the sheet instead of 10d6
What's going on?
See @edgy oriole's reply above
Is there a way to make overlays into a rectangle in Maps?
I entered an old unused email when buying an item on ddb as a gift instead of an email that I qctively use... nothing I can do except do a ticket for customer support right?
what the different between my homebrew collection to my homebrew creations?😅
Correct - contact customer support for issues with purchases, store, and accounts.
Homebrew Collection - if you have an active subscription you can add community-created homebrew to your collection to use in your characters and campaigns.
My Homebrew Creations is the homebrew you yourself have created (doesn't need to be published to use with your characters or campaigns).
so basically if i dont have subscription it the same
Yeah in that case without a subscription you wouldn’t be able to add others homebrew to your collection.
Not quite
- Your homebrew collection is whats shared in campaigns
- Homebrew creations is everything you've made (including deleted things).
You can remove your creations from your collection, meaning you can make homebrew but not share it
Click "Remove from Collection" and while the homebrew will still be listed in your creations, it won't be in your collection and thus won't be shared
i dont think i see homebrew of others from my campaign in "my homebrew collection"
It won't appear there, it'll appear in character sheets with homebrew content enabled in campaigns you're in
ho, ok, got it
Let's say you make some homebrew; it'll appear in "My Homebrew Creations" and "My Homebrew Collection"
You join a campaign and someone else in that campaign is editing their character
They have homebrew content enabled; they will see everything you have in "My Homebrew Collection" as options to pick for their character
Removing your homebrew from your collection will prevent the other person from being able to see it when editing their character
considering i dont share publicly things it realy dont matter
This doesn't have anything to do with public sharing; it'll appear for anyone you're in a campaign with even if the homebrew isn't published
there is a way to share things witj link only?
that about Remove from Collection
If you're in a campaign with someone, they can view a link to the item
Are there any paid features on dnd beyond
If so, are there any non paid alternatives?
Everything not in the System Reference Document (SRD) or free rules is paid content regardless of platform. DnDBeyond also provides additional services with a subscription. These subscription services can be found here: https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/subscribe
Start your first month free with the Hero and Master Tiers of D&D Beyond. Receive monthly perks, access homebrew content and create unlimited characters.
Aight good thanks :)
Yo, I bought some dnd books a few weeks ago that have subclasses. But the subclasses arent there even after a few weeks later, is there any way to help?
this is the dnd book in question
Obojima only works with the 2014 rules
damn, thank you
You can homebrew their subclasses onto the 2024 chasses with some effort. I did one of them last night myself.
Yep, you can create whatever you want as private homebrew. As long as you don't try to publish it publicly, it's fine
when you make a campaign, does it automatically link all the resources under your account to it to share with other players?
Not exactly. For any content sharing outside of homebrew, one person in the campaign must have a Master Tier subscription and enable content sharing on the campaign (a Master Tier subscription can have content sharing enable on up to 5 campaigns).
How am I supposed to join a campaign if I don’t even know where to look
Once your DM creates the campaign, they’ll see an invite link at the top of the page. They can send you that link, and you can use it to join with a new or existing character.
How do you make a post in the lfg channels? I’ve done it before but not in like a year
Read #find-a-game carefully as it explains how to sue the channels and the bot commands to make a post
So i bought the Dragon Delves Digital and Physical preorder and used the outside USA order system,
Do i also get the following? Because it wasnt shown in the outside USA ordering system.
I’ve been told those are included, yes.
Guys I could really use some help I am beyond frustrated. I'm making a homebrew monster on DnD Beyond (just an NPC) for a campaign. After wrestling with why the token on the VTT map won't update I've fixed it. Then I published my creation so others can use it. However I noticed an error and I wish to delete it or unpublish it. But I cannot find the option.
PS. The specific character has the Fey Ancestory trait. And for some reason the word charmed is not getting linked. I've tried doing it manually but then it's not working as intended.
please somebody anybody help me I feel like I'm fighting the website itself
I know it was a typo but the vision of suing a Discord channel made me laugh.
You can't "unpublish" something, because then people who have added that item to their collection would lose it. You can, however, create a new version of it. It's why you will always hear people saying to NOT publish anything unless you are 100% sure you are satisfied with it and you've playtested it.
I see. What about the word charmed not being linked correctly thought? I'm losing my mind over it
How are you trying to link it? are you using the [condition] tag?
Essentially I'm creating a version of Elro Aldataur like this one here (https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/1577369-elro-aldataur) but with my picture and some stuff. Now in his trait tab the charm is linked. For me it's not. And when I linked it manually with a hyper link it doesn't work
How do I do that?
example: [condition]Charmed{/condition]
so that will link it?
I thought the word gets linked automatically since darkvision did
so @hybrid nova I should write "You have advantage on saving throws against being [condition]charmed{/condition], and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Quote from firehawk2324 >>
D&D Beyond offers the ability to link certain aspects on the forum in mouse-over triggered tooltips, such as...
The above link shows various tooltip examples.
did I write it correctly?
Yes, that should work.
well it didn't
ah I see
damn
man I didn't know I'll have to do programming when making homebrew stuff
It's the only way to make them fancy with tooltips and such.
You've learned one of life's great lessons: never trust ChatGPT.
okay new problem
probably an easily fixable one
why is the trait thing in the bottom and not on the right side
here on the other homebrew creation it's normal
Probably just how the auto-formatting of the stat block works. You might be able to throw some blank lines in one of the other fields to move it "down" a bit.
but in which part should I do that
Looks like the "correct" one has extra blank lines in the Traits section itself, maybe try there.
Can't hurt.
At this point the conversation is probably better off in #homebrew. Don't want to flood the support channel.
yeah you're right
Does anyone know how to change the TRAIT subtitle so it's on the right side? I can't upload files to other channels so I'm positing it here instead. Please help me.
You can't force it's position, the stat block splits information between sides based on how much text there is
I think you can trick it with <p> </p> but I haven't tried it in a while so it might've gotten fixed.
Quick question: a character of mine would be wearing a Mizzium Apparatus as an Artificer 10 / Wizard 3 multiclass.
Is there a way to show every spell that they would get due to the Apparatus? Like, because of it, they can cast 4th level Wizard spells, but I can't see them in the spellcasting section of the character sheet.
I saw online that some people would suggest doing a magic item that would be the spells, but that feels like a huge undertaking due to the massive Wizard spell list.
I have a problem, I cant delete my encounters on the encounter builder. I click delete but they are still there. I saw on the forums you need to name them to delete them but that still didn't work. Does anyone have any fixes for this?
If naming it didn’t work, you’ll have to contact customer support. Just send them a link to the encounter and ask to have it removed.

ok thanks
In the DDB maps virtual tabletop, is there a way to hide the sidebar in spectator view (so it just shows the map and nothing else)?
The create dnd homebrew subclass has been down, is anyone else having the same problem?
I have a Monk who made level 7, but I don't see Stillness of Mind anywhere on the character sheet. Am I missing it?
It should be a reaction, right?
Is there a way to take my wild shapes go onto the PDFs?
Hi! I’ve purchased sourcebooks on D&D Beyond, including content that contains the Toll the Dead spell (Xanathar’s Guide to Everything and Player’s Handbook 2024), but I’m unable to add that spell to my sorcerer’s spell list on the character sheet.
I’ve checked the homebrew, expanded, core rules and legacy in the home tab
Toll is Cleric, Warlock, or Wizard only
Hey, I wanted to share the portrait I made on the DnD beyond forums (I’m pretty proud of it), and I’m not sure how to upload an image to my post, since I don’t see an option for that. How do I do so?
It’s an action, not a reaction. You’ll also only see it if you’re using the 2014 Monk
, not the 2024 Monk
.
I just bought the players handbook 2024 in dnd beyond and i didnt get it. The money went from my bank account and i got an email that i bought it.
What do i do?
Log into your DnDBeyond account and go to https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/account/orders and check to see if it shows up in your orders.
If it's there, you should have access to it and can go to https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/phb-2024 and be able to view it.
You may also need to check your entitlements by going to https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses and check to see if your Account Entitlements are in sync.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, please contact customer support.

Was it accidentally made as a gift purchase?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/my-gifts
Oh yeah good point
Do you get anything from preordering dragon delves or do you only get the dice if you buy both ?
Only what's listed: https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/4716000
I don't believe there's any other preorder bonuses.
Unfortunately they got rid of preorder bonuses, so kind of no reason to do so.
-# no FOMO is a bit nice though
Yeah, it’s a mixed bag for sure.
The dice and the map pack are included with the purchase of the Ultimate Bundle, or they can be purchased separately.
They’ll still be included in that bundle even after release; it’s not a preorder bonus.
Forwarded this here cause I was told that it was more of a question for yall
I don't know why its telling me this when I was super careful about this exact problem
To publish it for the global community, it can only include spells from the 2014 Basic Rules or the 2024 Free Rules.
There are spells in the two PHBs that aren’t included in those.
Any such spells would have to be removed if you want to publish it.
I don't own either book on dndbeyond so it should be only able to draw from the 2014 basic rules and 2024 free rules
You can use it in your own campaigns as-is, without publishing.
You could try hitting the main save button, then, to re-trigger the validation.
If it does include only valid spells, that error should go away.
If not, you’ll have to figure out which spell(s) caused it.
Im worried that cause I added Sword Burst without realizing that it wasn't in those two catergories that the subclass accidentally still has it registered as "mapped"
so maybe if I delete the expanded spell list and readd it it could fix the issue?
Yeah, Sword Burst would not qualify.
If you already removed that spell, then like I said, try hitting that main save button again.
okay
Nope 🥀, im gonna try just deleting the entire expanded spell list and seeing if that fixes it cause if not then it might be coming from somewhere else (which I dont think makes sense cause nowhere else is there spells)
Yeah that fixed it
i'll just readd everything
Any spell you add has to be on this list:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells?filter-source=1&filter-source=148
Okay thank you!
With the new dungeon delve book coming out I can see some pre-order bonuses but only with the physical edition? Can I get the bonuses with the digital only one?
it was coming from blade ward T_T
Those aren’t technically preorder bonuses.
It says if I pre-order the physical edition I get those things
The map pack and the dice can both be purchased separately as well if you’d like.
Pick up the Ultimate Bundle by choosing Digital + Physical to receive both the digital and physical version of Dragon Delves, plus 5 additional digital maps, 10 additional stickers, and the Ancient Gold Dragon Digital Dice Set!
I don’t want the physical book(s)
Right, because they’re just part of the bundle. They’ll also be available in that bundle after release.
So by pre-ordering the bundle, you do get those items, but they’re not pre-order bonuses.
Fair, I wanted to order digital only
Just seems a bit of self created FOMO by only doing it with the physical editions
Like I said, the Dragon Lairs Digital Map Pack and the Ancient Gold Dragon Digital Dice Set can also be purchased separately.
The bundle just gets you all four items for less.
Thanks, just a shame this isn’t part of a digital only bundle
Wait so the one thing they actually did like making new frames and dice is gone now 😳?
The dice are being sold separately and bundled with the physical/digital bundle.
Imo the sub perks have been so lack luster this year too, like the frames are so bad 😅
There's no mention of the character frames or backgrounds, though.
so yeah, not sure where you got that notion
Mildly annoyed.. so some group of people found they can exploit LotRR Messenger Unarmored bonus and Monk/Barb Unarmored bonus and it stacks... I am sure this was not intended but ddb is allowing it. And the DM is allowing it as well...
I mean, I don't think the LotR 5e classes are meant to combine with the base 5e classes anyway, last I checked? DDB support can't help with what your DM is deciding to allow regardless...
No no..I know..I was just wondering if there was a way a dev or something could fix that.. lmao sorry ^~^;
Yeah, it’s definitely not correct per the rules.
I’ve passed that on to the devs for review.
Thank you! ^~^
Hi I am completely new to dnd and I am excited to learn to play if anyone is willing to help me and teach me I would be grateful anyone is welcome to dm me I will take all the help I can get 🙏
Welcome! This channel is for getting help with the website D&D Beyond, but #learn-to-play and #dnd-newcomers can help you get started with the game itself.
Thank you I wasent sure where to put that lol
I’ll just copy and paste that into newcomers
Will the book: "Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd" be also released at DDB or only extern ?
oooh, ok, thanks! I didn't realize that changed.
I haven’t seen any announcement for it being on DDB.
It’s a novel, not a book for the game itself.
i thought the book was already out i was sure i saw it on audible recently
I have one issue with DDB, is there a way we can have a different data pack for the martial arts die between the 2 monk classes? Because it does interfere with Avrae.
I’d suggest clicking on the existing Unarmed Strike in DDB, opening the Customize section in the sidebar, and un-checking Display As Attack.
That will stop it from importing when you !update.
Then you can create a custom action in DDB with the correct dice, or add it directly to Avrae.
maps just shut down for me
What channel would be best to find new dnd groups? Sorry
#find-a-game can point you in the right direction.
Thanks!
Is there any way to tell D&D Beyond that you physically have the books so you can put it into the maps???
if not, is there any other way I can implement monsters from the monster manual on to the map?
No. They are different products. You can use the homebrew tools to recreate anything you own in a physical book. Just don’t publish it (you can use unpublished creations)
?books
There are four ways to access content on D&D Beyond that you may have in your physical books:
- Purchase the full digital book from the marketplace
- Purchase a digital/physical bundle from the marketplace
- Join a D&D Beyond campaign with someone who already owns the book where content sharing has been enabled
- Use the homebrew tools to copy the content from your physical book into D&D Beyond (Note: Do not publish any content copied in this way; it is for personal use only)
You could manually create them in the Homebrew system and then drag them in, yes, but otherwise you need to own books to use the built-in monsters in DNDB.
Re: sharing. If I want to share a specific homebrew creation with my group and already have sharing working and setup, do I need to publish to share just with them?
No, anything in your My Homebrew Collection is shared with your campaigns automatically, even without Content Sharing enabled.
Any homebrew you create is automatically added to your My Homebrew Collection as well.
I wouldn’t publish anything unless it’s finished and playtested and you want to share it with the global community in its current state forever.
Not sure if this is the right channel but on my character sheet I seem to have this theme, I however don't seem to have it in my list of themes to pick from so I was wondering if anyone knew what the source of this theme is?
It was one of the preorder bonuses for Mythic Odysseys of Theros.
Maybe your DM added that to your sheet?
Another DM shares content with me (and I him) but today some of the stuff wasn't visible when one of my players tried to create a new character. He went to try the ol' off and on again on content sharing, and is getting this error message, but we're not sure what to do with it.
When running a session as the DM, I try and do attack rolls for the enemies. For some reason, I am not able to see the results of the dice rolls. I look at the game log on my phone or in other browsers, I don't even see any updates. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Hey guys, I host a weekly campaign using DNDBeyond. This even (just now) I logged on to DM our game, and my entire campaign is completely gone. DNDBeyond is acting as if I never had it.
I have a few created encounters, and those are still there, with a link to the missing campaign. but, when I click on the link I get a 403 Forbidden Error page.
I have tried clearing my cache, and searching on reddit and the forum boards, with no luck.
Might anyone have heard of this before, or offer some suggestions of help?
Did something happen to the mobile app content? It appears there’s a CSS issue with the exported content on mobile. The books look “bad” now. I don’t have a screenshot of content from before, but all books look like this now.
This sometimes happens if your app has its cache corrupted on an app update. Reinstalling the app will fix it.
Will do, thanks! First I’ve ever seen this before
Fix confirmed
Glad it still works!
why does creating a homebrew magic item based on a magic tattoo, ammunition, or arrow, result in the homebrew item having a tag in brackets
I can't seem to remove this tag from the brackets
It's probably set in a dev-only field that none of us can edit.
I have Tasha’s cauldron of everything on Beyond but can’t make an artificer?
Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.
The Account Entitlements section at the top should ideally say "Your entitlements data is in sync!" If not, it will show a button to manually trigger the sync, after which your content should be available.
Did you purchase the book yourself, or is your character assigned to a campaign where that book is shared with you?
Do you have Expanded Rules enabled for that character?
When selecting your class, did you scroll down to the Expanded Rules section?
It’s being shared.
Yes
Yes
Were your entitlements in sync, and is your character assigned to the campaign that’s sharing that book?
So after i buy the tree core books and a starter kit i dont really know where to start or how
so Im trying to make some homebrew but I keep getting this. is something going on?
Um, hi, Im asking about the Virtual weekend, um how does one attend to these things? This is my first time attending to one. And, I have questions.
1 is...well, how does one attend for starters; I get you click first before hand to show that your interested, but whats the process?
- is it possible to have my older brother along on this? Me and my brother our players and we both would like to play together.
- are we to use a website as we RP/play dnd to go in on the session? Forge I know, but Roll20 is unknown to me
same here, might be a good time to report it
See that blue Contact Support link in the message? Click that and report the issue.
So in the event post there's a link to this page: https://www.baldmangames.com/virtual-dd-weekends/
That page explains how to purchase a ticket and other event information.
I am kinda a inexperienced writer and looking for helping writing my next "season" of my campaign.
The folks in #dm-discussion can probably lend a hand there.
(This channel is for getting help with D&D Beyond.)
Is there a way to disable Acquisitions Incorporated during character creation?
Is there a separate channel for maps questions? I was wondering if there is a limit to the number of monster tokens that can be added? I seem to have one map that wont allow me to add monster tokens to... I can add stickers, but not monster tokens. It does have probably more than 100 on it already (as before stickers, we homebrewed some "city" monsters)
You can disable Expanded Rules, but not just AI.
Huge thanks
Is this something new or have I just missed it? In the character app right click on a dice roll for damage and this menu pops up.
I believe it's new. I noticed it 2 days ago myself.
Lately I’ve noticed this graphical glitch in the character editor. Luckily it doesn’t seem to affect functionality, and corrects itself within a few seconds (ie, the first picture is hovering over hp immediately upon entering the editor, the second is taking the cursor off for a few seconds, then hovering back over it)
Has anyone else noticed this? To my memory this is a cross browser issue
Would love to to see the dice icon be able to move from either right to left side on app. Get in the way to see results of die rolls sometimes.
I guess I'm not the only one experiencing homebrew issues. but it's already the 17th on my end
How do I properly edit this? I don't know coding stuff and this just looks like a bunch of gibberish to me. I've tried before and messed it up. I just want to make it a slashing attack, swap the damage die for 1d8, and add 2d6 necrotic damage.
Is there a way to make a custom item that requires attunement?
(Outside of homebrew, or is it only homebrew, or is Homebrew even able to do that?)
Homebrew can do that, yes, and it is required to make a custom item with this behavior.
Start with something like this:
Scimitar. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 1) slashing damage and 2d6 necrotic damage.
Highlight that sentence.
Then hit the button that looks like a calculator (The button on the far right, on the send row labled "Add rollable dice blocks automatically")
In the box that pops up click "Add Rollable Dice Blocks"
You can now exit out of that box and the dice should roll for you.
This DDB article might help How to Add Rollable Dice Blocks to Your Homebrew Monsters
For some reason, I’m completely stuck here the map is glitched for me I was trying to mess around with it What do I do?
I pressed every button I don’t know it’s working in my other PC, but for some reason it’s not working in my computer
And now the whole website is glitched out
Hi I have turned Legacy and PHB 2014 content off for character creation but I still get Legacy options for Spices and Items?
Dude why did I buy Maps from D&D Beyond its ass it’s not working for me
Well for starters you didn't buy maps, it's part of the Master tier sub
Have you tried clearing your cache and reloading?
If that doesn't work, you probably want to provide more information (including a screenshot that captures the full maps screen, you've cut off the top where it displays the map browser etc) such as browser, device, etc
I've just loaded maps myself and it's working fine for me
Also are you running any extensions? Those can mess with DDB, especially ones that modify it such as Beyond20 and AboveVTT
Let me a really quickly, try and
This is the whole thing I reset the computer didn’t work I loaded it in another PC and it worked completely fine. Tried to press every button didn’t work now I don’t wanna understand how to do it I just got it today
I created a whole new campaign and tried it there and also didn’t work it doesn’t show the map but I can still interact with it
I can spawn characters can grab them, but I don’t see them
Try using edge
(or Chrome or Firefox or Safari, whatever browser you have that isn't that lion one)
Here’s the thing I’m using the same website in the other PC and it’s working completely fine when I started the map, it worked on the computer, fine and suddenly it goes to Black
For example, here, I’m using the same website, but it’s working completely fine
Also, give me a moment let me try it
If it's fine on a different machine, the issue is your machine, not Maps
Could be some kind of file conrruption or hardware/shader issue etc
Could be, but it worked completely fine when I started
Is it like some sort of thing I pressed by accident you think
Dunno, but doesn't seem to be a Maps issue IMO
Just give me a few minutes, tried another website if it did happen I guess I cannot do shit about it
Thank you though, appreciate the help
One thing to try is temporarily disable all extensions or plugins. Once you see if that helps, you can always turn them back on. If it does work, you can iterate until you find which one is causing the issue and can decide from there how to proceed.
So good news the problem was with the website I managed to open it. Thank you for your help.
I appreciate it
Having trouble selecting ASI feat multiple times on a fighter. Nevermind... when switching from milestone to XP it assumed i had 0 XP and wasnt a 8th level fighter anymore
It's been 7 & 1/2 months since the PHB was released on DDB, and they have still not fixed the missing 2014/legacy rules on the character sheet (e.g. for Unarmed Strike/Shove/Grapple and Initiative). Do we know if they are still planning to fix this, or have they officially stopped supporting 2014 rules? The "fix" is literally just adding some legacy text to the tooltips, there shouldn't be any actual coding involved, so it shouldn't be taking this long to implement.
So I was making custom items and suddenly two of them appear cut off... I don't know what I did different
Um help please?
The text itself looks weird, too. Seems like it’s using some weird monospaced font that could be causing the issue here.
Did you copy and paste that text in from another program? It might have copied some unexpected formatting with it.
I’d recommend trying to re-entering it without that formatting.
using the same program I did the last few to type up the concept but I will try clearing the format
even posting as plain text didn't work
while this is something I did a couple days copying from the same program I used for those two.
That still doesn’t look like plain text, though. Compare the lowercase L’s in those two pictures, for example.
First one is the former is paste as plain text the latter is not it’s just straight paste.
The bottom one is using the site’s normal font, though, and the top one definitely is not.
You might try hitting the </> button in the text editor’s toolbar. That will let you see the underlying HTML.
My guess is the top one is wrapped in <code> tags.
But I’d just delete everything there and start again from scratch.
Thank you it was a code tag but from DnDB. it was the pre tag must of accidentally hit it when bolding and underlining stuff.
Random question: Is it possible to add a spell unto a character's spell list that would be castable with spell slots?
Hi, I'm trying to take the Rune Carver background,
It asks me to pick a tool proficiency i picked Weaver,
In the Rune Shaper Feat :
"Rune Magic. You know a number of runes equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down), chosen from the Rune Spells table."
My proficiency bonus is +2, so I should be able pick 1 rune, but it doesn't let me pick anything
Is there anything i did wrong or is it simply a bug on D&D Beyond ?
You’d have to use the homebrew tools.
You could make a homebrew copy of your subclass, for example, and add it there.
Rune Carver currently only allows choices from the 2014 Core Rules. Do you have 2014 Core Rules enabled for that character?
oh that's why thanks
Anyone that can help me with DnD beyond spells?
I would say there might be, but you would need to give more information on what help you seek before someone knows if they can 🙂
I figured it out! I wasn't preparing the spells, DUH!!!! Thank you for being willing to help though.
glad you worked it out 🙂
How do I make a necromancer wizard in dnd beyond cause I cant get the "school of necromancy " to pop up
Do you own the 2014 PHB, or is that character assigned to a campaign where that book is shared with you?
Are your entitlements in sync?
?tag ddb entitlements
Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.
The Account Entitlements section at the top should ideally say "Your entitlements data is in sync!" If not, it will show a button to manually trigger the sync, after which your content should be available.
Do you have 2014 Core Rules enabled for that character?
Yeah and legacy
Did you also make your character using the 2014 core rules? By scrolling down and picking the 2014 wizard?
Idk,i can remake if that's the prob
You don't have to use the 2014 wizard. It also works on the 2024 wizard.
I wasnt aware of that part.
If thats the case is your wizard at level 3?
4
Did you check the first things I asked?
It is not free.
Rogue instead of
Rogue, for example.
Bard instead of
Bard.
