Where do you see 'twice proficiency'?
specifically for me I saw it when I was adding a character trait to a homebrew speicies'
Expertise requires them to already have proficiency.
Twice proficiency just gives it to them.
For homebrewing, I'd strongly suggest not combining those then.
I wasnt aiming for both. That would be insane. I was just scrolling down the list to get to the option I wanted and saw it.
So how would I go about doing this?
Hello! Good evening to everyone
I'm here just to ask for help
I have a ticket for 4 days ago trying to change a shipping address for my 2024 monster manual pre-order
The thing is nobody answers
And I have another ticket 2 months old that's still open and I still haven't got responded there
Does someone knows if there is another way to get support? Or what's the wait time
Is there anywhere in the marketplace to add
"Add all adventures and sourcebooks I don't own"
into cart? Like the Legendary bundle did back in the day the legendary bundle was everything on DDB.
I'm in the process of making an Illrigger character right now, and looking at the equipment section the first option says "two martial weapons" but there is only one dropdown to put my selection, not two. Additionally, selecting the Priest's or Dungeoneer's packs don't actually add any items to the equipment
Also, there are no weapon mastery options, I thought this was supposed to be a class for the new 2024/5.5e rules but I guess not
It was designed and revised before the 2024 rules came out.
As for weapon masteries, that's easy to fix. Make a homebrew feat that gives the class, say, two masteries and manually add it to the sheet.
Oh yeah, clever
okay so i made a homebrew paladin oath that im planning to use for a campaign how do i get it to show up during character creation
i am confused on why its not there
Hello, I've made a ticket a few days ago regarding the Paladin's old subclasses on the 2024 edition of it. The spells below are never prepared for the 2024 edition even though they should be. When are they going to fix this? It's been 2 months already. And clearly these subclasses are separate from the ones that the 2014 classes get why is it taking them this long? Not like it's going to ruin the 2014 classes.
TBH, I’d set it up as a separate action to make it easier to roll. Then after you save the action, there’s an option at the bottom for Level Overrides.
I’ll look into that. Thank you
Tickets are ultimately answered in the order they’re received, so the exact wait time can vary depending on how many tickets are ahead of yours.
I believe they’re pretty backed up at the moment, but I don’t know the current expected wait time.
I wouldn’t expect anyone to be waiting two months, though. 🤔
Not currently, no.
I’ve let the devs know about the weapon choice. The packs should be added as individual items to your sheet, in a separate backpack.
Did you enable Homebrew Content for that character?
Did you select the same Paladin class in both places? They should both have either
or
.
I.E. if you create the subclass for
, it won’t appear on
, and vice versa.
If i buy dnd beyond books and the subscription that allows sharing. if i join a campaign as a player can my books be shared with my fellow campaign members and the dm?
awesome thanks
And once it’s activated, everyone’s books get shared with everyone else.
oh so everyone in the campaign gets their books shared?
Yep!
I’ve passed that one on to the devs before, but I’ll follow up.
That weapon choice should now be fixed!
I turned on legacy options in beyond but still only see new spells
is there anything i can do to fix this?
Can you give an example of a spell you were expecting to see?
the old sleep
Sleep would be under “2014 Core Rules”, not “Legacy”.
But you also won’t see those spells for the 2024 classes regardless.
(If you did want to use it for a 2024 class, you can pretty easily make a homebrew copy and adjust the available classes.)
Oh cool, thanks
When I said the Priest's and Dungeoneer pack don't get added to the equipment, I meant to say they don't get added to the inventory at all
They did for my character... 🤔
Can you share a link to yours?
Maybe they fixed the issue when the fixed the weapons thing
https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/118293874
Wait
You know what, I had that setting where I unchecked the legacy box
That was it, wasn't it
Don't know why I didn't think about that
is the new Illrigger for 2024, 14 or both rulesets?
It works in either, but all third-party content is currently built using the SRD for the 2014 rules.
The new SRD won't be made available until sometime after the Monster Manual is released.
(Since it will need content from all three books to be effective.)
Ok thank you very much, just needed to know as one of my players wanted to play one but we'll keep using the 2014 ruleset
I'm trying to select a Divine Domain subclass I created as a homebrew subclass for D&D beyond for a Cleric. The Divine Domain is not showing up as selectable. I've verified I have homebrew turned on.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I created the subclass two different times.
Did you create it for the 2014 cleric class (
) or the 2024 one (
)? Did you choose the same class for your character?
Yes
Tried both cleric classes available to me. Created from both expanded rules and legacy.
And the subclass is in your My Homebrew Collection?
(Not just in My Homebrew Creations?)
Yes it shows up in the My Homebrew Collection.
I genuinely don’t know then.
If it’s in your collection, you’ve got Homebrew on, and you’re using the same class for both, then I’d expect it to be there.
Hence my confusion.
I'm trying to create a deflect thing like the monk has for a monk subclass, how do I make it add your monk level to the damage (reduction)
the only alternative to not adding monk level other than not having the roll include it (which the regular deflect attack does do) is to simply decide the fixed value to be my character's current monk level, but I obviously can't create a new subclass for one different value every time I level up
Fixed Value has to be an actual number.
So the only real solution there would be to set it at 1, and then provide a Level Override for every level.
well, starting at 3 for the subclass at level 3...
But yeah.
Another issue I've found
I can add two limited-use-data entries to a single action, but it doesn't do anything?
You can add multiple in case the formula changes based on the level.
If you set those both to the same level, then yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them gets ignored.
No, I mean... I can add one that's, say, 2xProf, and one that's an ability modifier
but it just... doesn't use both?
I can't get limited use to actually function on
(2 x PB) + a Modifier
I think I figured it out. There are a bunch of subclasses that are alienated out of homebrew content available to available classes if you use as a template. I did the class directly with a subclass from scratch and it worked.
How is sharing content actually working between two DM’s?
I have most of the books, and I am a player in my friends campaign. However, it seems like he is controlling the options of which book he wants to borrow from me, and I am not able at all to control that. Is that how it supposed to to be?
Anyone in a campaign can activate Content Sharing.
Once it’s activated, everyone’s books are shared with everyone else.
The DM can allow or prevent any shared book from being read. (Any character options from that book will remain available either way.)
I didn't think of that
kinda sucks but I guess it's good enough
Is there a way/channel to post d&d community on here? We got a fast growing comunity of players and dm’s that we like to grow
Question! I noticed in the D&D Beyond Terms and Conditions that there's a clause about not using the platform for monetary gain.
5.2 Rules of Use: In addition to the Wizards Fan Content Policy and Code of Conduct, here are comprehensive rules for using D&D Beyond, Services, Marketplace and Digital Content:
I. Personal Use Only: You may use D&D Beyond, the Services, and the content solely for your personal enjoyment. This means they should not be used for any form of monetary gain, for piracy, or for political activities. The intention is to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all users.
Would using D&D Beyond as part of a paid session on websites like StartPlaying constitute a violation of this? Sorry if this is the wrong channel for this.
Read #find-a-game and specifically learn about the #looking-for-community channel.
Can you rearrange these maps in DnD Beyond??
Is it possible to make a homebrew magic item that doubles carrying capacity, which will take into account a PC's species like Firbolg with Powerful Build?
If I set the Carrying Capacity modifier on the magic item to Large, it will work for a species without Powerful Build, but not for the Firbolg
Silly q, we are sharing the 2024 PHB but our character won't allow us to have circle of the moon
I don’t believe so, but you can use the feedback option there inside Maps for any feature requests.
I don’t think so.
Is the character assigned to that campaign? Are they using the 2024 Druid class (
, not
)?
I can't seem to publish this class. ANy idea why? It keeps saying "This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels."
What class is this for?
You could try hitting the main save button to rerun the validation process.
If you actually do have the right levels, that error should go away.
If not, then you’ll need to make sure you’ve got subclass features at every level that class normally provides one.
Did hitting that main save button clear the error, then?
Has anyone been able to fix the Can't Update Payment error for their subscription? My wife's account couldn't take the subscription payment, so it needed an update, but she couldn't. She tried cancelling, then subscribing again, but just keeps getting can't update subscription or can't change a cancelled subscription. She opened a help request over two weeks ago, then got a response a few days later, and nothing since. The response didn't fix the problem, and seems like a form message that didn't address the issue.
So im looking at my hawk familiar, and im noticing that its passive Perception is 16 while having a +4 to the skill
The Elven Accuracy feat ... it isn't offered in D&D Beyond when we use the new Elf races listed in 2024 PHB. This is a bug in the tool or is there a specific reason that feat isn't available for the new 2024 Elf races. Why hasn't this bug been fixed by now? I assume if this is a bug that one must use Homebrew to create the feat to add to a character.
You can just disable feat prerequisites and then add it
It’s possibly proficient
Well, im assuming Expertise if youre going off the Passive
Guidance on how to remove the prerequites for the feat would be appreciated.
Are you using the app or website?
Character sheet > Features and Traits > Manage Feats > Settings then you’ll see where to toggle it off
I'm looking at my Level 14 Warrior of Mercy Monk and on the sheet and under Actions it lists Hand of Harm and Hand of Healing as a D10, not as a D10 plus Wis mod. I just checked in Avrae, and Avrae adds the bonus where rolling on DnDBeyond does not
Can you share a link to your character?
I don’t think they currently can add that without also displaying it with an attack roll…
But I don’t see it listed as a known issue, so I’ve passed it along to the devs anyway.
Are any of these spells liscened? Keeps giving me you have liscensed or homebrew spells.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/135929713
Here she is (sory for late reply)
Im also seeing Sorcery Incarnate at my current level for some reason, despite not being level 7
You can check here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells?filter-source=1&filter-source=148
Got it! Think I saw that once before ... wonder why one would use it ... now I understand. LOL
Appreciate the guidance.
And one final thing, my Tentacles of the deep seem to be adding my CHA mod to damage
Seems like you’re using the Free Rules version, which does indeed have a 16.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/4775824-hawk
(Even in the physical book)
Where are you seeing this?
This one’s a known issue, even with the previous class.
FATHOMLESS - Tentacle of the Deeps. If the attack is set to display for this feature it incorrectly adds your characters CHA bonus to the damage roll.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/87774-tashas-cauldron-of-everything-issues-and-support
But you can customize the attack to add a bonus of -3 and cancel it out.
Hey so the elven accuracy feat isn't showing up for me and I am a drow
2024 rules and drow via the elf thing
Yeah, that’s a known issue for the 2024 species.
But you can disable Feat Prerequisites for that character to add it anyway.
aight
elven accuracy still makes it so you have double advantage right?
wait why is fireball on my spell list? I am a dao genie
It lets you reroll one of the two dice for advantage.
so double advantage
You’re rolling three times instead of two, so in that sense, I wouldn’t call it double.
This one’s a current system limitation. There isn’t yet a way to conditionally add spells based on your choice.
In the feature section
And yeah, using the minus works, it just wasnt working on mobile for some reason
Oh nvm, looks like innate sorcery fixed itself
Thanks spam
how come im unable to see half of 2014 content i own like feats, spells, magic items etc
it just says locked behind phb2024
(example crossbow exxpert feat)
Just checking - is development aware that the Heightened Patient Defense listed under Bonus Action is only offering a single roll of the monk's martial die, not 2 as it should, towards gaining temporary HP?
Update - This is on the Actions tab, Bonus Action sub-tab, not Features & Traits
youre probably looking at the 2024 versions. 2014 will be marked as legacy
Scroll down usually on the character sheet
for example
https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items
the 4th item is adamantine weapon
its not viewable for me rn
this is the link i have always used before 2024 was a thing
if there is a seperate link for 2014 content i cant find it
and adamantine weapon only shows once on this list
Do you have legacy turned off?
if thats the default then yes cos idk where that would be
legacy isnt turned off by default
then no
when i search feats in 2014 phb only 2 show up
if i go into the book itself then it all shows up obviously
so basicly all these feats arent showing up in the feats list
Adamantine weapons are originally from XGTE, and weren’t a magic item.
So that specific option exists exclusively in the 2024 DMG.
alright well that was an example so i was wrong on that 1 but i been having this problem all day with things i know was a magic item or other stuff before
And you’ve got this also filtered by feats with a Dexterity prerequisite.
true let me fix that
alright that fixed the feats so thats my bad
now let me see if i can find the magic item list i had problems with
okay idk what happened before i guess, now things are properly showing up seperately as legacy and new but earlier today it wasnt
aaaaalright i suppose we good
first time using dndbeyond in a year+ so stuffs changed a lot
is there a way to easily see the sources of the calculations of my hit bonus without digging throught my char lvls and stuff
….. sooo is it expired or no? Would love for ddb to decide

Tried logging out on the website, realised I didn’t have the password saved, requested a ‘forgot password’ email 20 mins ago and still haven’t received it 🤷
Make sure to double check your spam filters as well
Your DnDBeyond account is tied to either:
- Google account
- Apple Account
- Wizards of the Coast account
for me its twitch account
Ah an old account! 😉
The Twitch account logins are now deprecated and we strongly suggest making sure to setup an alternate account for getting in to your DnDBeyond account.
Just in case
fair enough will do
Can someone help me understand why wraithful smite doesnt appear under 2014 ruleset for hexblade warlock? I own both Xanathar's and both versions of the PHB
I even tried leveling up my character sheet but it still doesnt appear under choosable spells
I’m afraid not
There’s no “i” in “wrathful”
I mispelled it here, but originally i was just typing smite and it still wasnt showing
But i came back too it an hour after buying the 2014 phb and its showing now
was just taking its sweet time i suppose
Thank you though lol
i need help, my character leveling is stuck on milestone, and when i try to change it the accept button to switch to xp does not work.
Does it work if you change it in the character editor instead of directly on the sheet?
hi, im making a monk with 2024 rules and two weapon fighting feat is not showing on character creation and not even on my characetr sheet ( manage feat and try to add it there ). im very confused
D&D Beyond still has my wrong email address ... not able to access email sent to wrong email address.
That’s a Fighting Style feat. You can only choose it if you have a Fighting Style class feature, which monks do not.
(Though you could disable feat prerequisites and add it anyway.)
so level 1 fighter would be my problem solver
thanks for cl;arification
just to make sure, thats the feat that allow us to add modifierto damageon extra attack right ?
Yeah
ok
wanna do a monk of shadow dual wielding daggers
i wish fighting style was a feat we could take and pick one from the list
if i take dueling too, and do extra attack with bonus action can i also add mod to damage on that bonus attack ?
ill probly do flurry of blows anyways but im curious if the TWF also work on the dueling extra attack
#dnd-rules can help with game questions.
i tried that too and it didnt work either
Strange. That one works for me…

this last time i tried to do it like that, but for some reason i cant seem to find it in the character editor anymore, what section is it in? Just so i can check it again to see if its working now.
oh nvm actually i foudn it and it worked

Quick question. Does the web site show book marks? Or is it just the app. Many thanks.
So does the genie subclass give you wish as apart of 9th level mystic arcanum cus I don't see it
Looks like that was indeed reported previously, but I’ve given it a nudge.
Just the app, presumably since browsers already natively let you save bookmarks.
I don’t believe it does.
Makes sense. Thanks
is that a bug?
A system limitation, I believe.
Hello, i am struggeling to understand why ASI (the +1 and +1] is not showing when i chose variant human. Am i being stupid and missing somthing?
Are you using 2024 rules perchance alongside the vhuman
I dont own the 2024 rules. I am a mere noob when it comes to Dnd and beyond.
You might be accidentally using the 2024 rules then
Yeah, but again, the class/background you chose might be the newer ver
You mean this?
Thats the races/lineage
in 2024, races no longer give you the ASI, backgrounds do
Oh you helped me find it thanks! It was the background that wast the problem. Thanks 🙂
For some reason the "add item list" doesn't want to work on the character sheet inventory screen. Is this a common issue?
There are a lot of those with warlock seemingly, may be a good idea to just make a system for altering class features
I'm quite late to the party, but I've had the same issue and I just solved it!
The problem lies in the fact that both the class feature and the subclass feature is called Channel Divinity (at least that's what it was on my end)
Renaming the subclass feature to Channel Divinity Options brought back the checkboxes
Thank you for this!
Fixed!
Wow. Thanks. Nice power in that nudge. 😉
trying to homebrew a creature, but why doesnt an attack option show up for Acidic Bolt and Illusory barrage?
and when i click the bite attack, it does the affect of Illusory Barrage as well?
If you’re asking about those buttons from Beyond 20, you’d have to ask whoever made that extension.
I'm sure the answer is still no, but are we yet able to add spell slots to characters?
I don’t believe so.
Hey, I cannot add my homebrew magic items to players in my campaign any longer - I have been able to do so earlier. Have something changed in the past week or two?
ah! the characters did not have homebrew enabled, nevermind
Make sure that your characters haven't disabled--Yeah, exactly.
how do I get my map to look like this?
I was watching a streamer and he has his map like this
Looks like an extension
that's what I was kind of thinking but I was just asking here
let's go I found the extension
I have players with characters in campaign A that we completed. How do they move to campaign B without losing anything from the content I shared with them?
Use the same campaign, rename it
I thought about that. But I want to run campaign A with my kids and their friends while the other players move on.
you can always deactivate or remove characters
You can enable Content Sharing in up to five campaigns.
So you could just share it in the new one, too.
They won’t lose anything in the meantime? I ask bc they’re getting a popup warning that they might lose stuff.
If they leave the first campaign before joining the second, they wouldn’t have access during that time.
But if they join the second and then leave the first…
Is there any word yet about Black Friday beyond sales? Or even “hey here’s what will be on sale at Y time”?
Hi, I just bought the 2024 player's handbook digital copy, but I can't access to it
Nothing has been announced but any sales should be announced in #dnd-announcements and on the DnDBeyond website notification banners and on any socials.
Can you go to your License tab in the site and check to see if your entitlements are in sync? https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
Also it may take 10-15 minutes before everything is all up to date due to server caching so you may need to wait a bit and try again. Also potentially try logging out, clearing your browser cache, quit the browser, then restart and log back in. This will make sure your browser cache is empty which can help with ensuring your browser is getting the freshest updates from the server and not relying on stale browser cached data.
Phantasmal Force and Silvery Barbs are missing from the 2024 Sorcerer spell list, not even appearing there as a legacy option.
The Lord of the Rings book releases today doesn't it?
I haven’t seen a specific date announced. Where did you hear that?
For me Phantasmal Force only shows in 2014 sorc spell list as a legacy spell regardless of filters.
could have sworn it was listed on the store page, but I don't see it anymore
Have you purchased the 2024 Player’s Handbook?
No, but the legacy 2014 spells aren't a part of it, so why would they be missing?
The new classes aren’t meant to be used with spells from the 2014 PHB.
But you can make a homebrew copy of the spell and change its available classes if you really want to use the older one.
I have players with characters in campaign A that we completed. How do they move to campaign B without losing anything from the content I shared with them?
Reposting this. Can they just leave and join a different campaign without loss? I don’t think I got the best advice last night. It won’t let them join two at the same time.
did you send them the link?
like, there isnt a limit on how many campaigns you can join
I did send the link. Hmm. Let me see if something is showing active in Campaign A. 🤷🏻♂️
A character can't belong to more than one campaign, but there's no limit to how many campaigns a player can join with different characters.
Why does the website log me out every time I try to buy something or even just look at the marketplace
I see the book is starting to come out. I can't access it yet so I guess it's still rolling out?
i just purchased the lord of the rings source material on DDB but every time i go to access the material, it sends me to the marketplace to purchase it again. any tips?
the marketplace has been extra buggy recently, cant even buy the 2024 dmg cuz of the glitch
well this is unfortunate
im cancelling my subscription till they fix this
Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
havent tried that yet, lemme try
I think the release is still in progress, but you could try checking if your entitlements are in sync:
?tag ddb entitlements
Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.
The Account Entitlements section at the top should ideally say "Your entitlements data is in sync!" If not, it will show a button to manually trigger the sync, after which your content should be available.
thanks for the information. I just saw that the entitlements are synced but the LotR source material is not listed yet
what browser should i try? i tried firefox and that doesnt work (dont say chrome)
Whatever you like
If it works in any other browser, then the problem has something to do with the first browser.
i tried microsofts browser and that didnt work either
If you get the same issue, then it’s probably not a browser-specific issue.
Do you have another device you can try?
it works on my phone but i hate the mobile app
Seems like it might be an issue specific to your computer, then.
Maybe a network issue, or some other interference like a VPN or security software.
But if you can buy it on your phone, you’d be able to use it on your computer as well.
I just submitted the support ticket for it being missing, but there are a lot of tickets today apparently.
I'm also having issues accessing the Lotr book, it doesn't show up in account entitlements either.
I think the servers aren't syncing properly to the licenses right now.
It’s not missing; the release is simply still in progress.
There will be an announcement when the release is complete.
That's what I figured, slow roll out.
Ahhh so the release time is like an embargo essentially?
Where are you seeing a release time specified?
No release time showing, I am saying they put a release time in on the backend for the source material, correct? That would be the only way it wouldn't be rolling out.
Because if it had a release date it would have been listed on the market like usual. This one did not.
It did have a release date a few days ago while it was available for pre-order.
didn't have a specific time, but it did have a date.
Ditto on the LoTR... purchased and its not showing up in my library yet, but no "will be available on"
same
It comes out today, it's just still rolling out I think.
Didn't notice it in the market earlier or talked about on the website. Just saw it today.
yeah it was hidden, I only saw it when I was looking at the Illrigger last week.
Prob be a bit slow on the roll out, which is fine. We can essentially wait for it to happen by the end of the day since it is digital.
as long as the purchase stick so i don't need a ticket lol

yup first thing i checked
Are you able to access the book from here?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/lotrr
no
It is not released for me
it takes me to purchase screen
Nvm it still just takes me to the purchase screen after I click a link
I can see the table of contents, but if I click anything it takes me to the marketplace
just so i'm not spamming.. i have a confirmation email of purchase but cannot see it as "in library" nor do i see it as "you own this product"
Same ⬆️
Ah, same problem for me as well. Okay. I’m just glad I’m not the only one.
I’m sure they’re working on it.
oh i'm def sure they are. I'm in no way bashing so apologies if it comes across that way. I just want to ensure the charge is valid since it went through. I know they are dealing with a backlog right now
Oh no, I was just saying. I didn’t really read what many people said. I just skimmed through, and saw others had the same issue. I guess I was just more or less « thinking out loud. »
I checked in with the devs. They are indeed still working on it.
glad I'm not the only one experiencing this
What would be the best way to stay up to date on progress related to this issue?
this is pretty bad. sucks to have purchased a resource that we cant even access
I had the same issue with the DMG and XGE, but those were resolved relatively quickly.
i just cheched on on my dndbeyond app its still says go to the marketplace so i think i may just wait tell tomorrow to check it for the lord of the rings books
It's working for me now
same
idc what folks say.. the staff and dev team are def on it
Does the dnd beyond subscription give access to any books or is it just for unlimited characters?
The subscription is independant of materials
unlimited caacters, content sharing in campaigns, anda bunch of other stuff
itshouldbe listed
Ok thanks
What is this
what is what? The picture?A Modron
its when you click too often.. you have to press and hold to authenticate
Guys, if you don't have access to your LOTR purchase, go to the DND Beyond support page on the WOTC website. I filed a ticket and got it resolved an hour later.
I would share the link, but it'd probably be deleted by the bots, so I'll refrain. Sorry for being unable to help further.
Oh, if you go to support dot wizards dot com it'll show you the link to access the DND Beyond support portal.
it happens when I go to dndbeyond, regardless if i click on anything
is there a way to fix these tooltips
for reference they are homebrew spells for this subclass
Tooltips don't work for homebrew spells. You will have to use links to the homebrew
I've got two barbarian characters, one started out with the 2014 rules and was later updated to 2024, whilst the second one was made from scratch using 2024. In the Saving Throws and Defenses section of the sheet, the second one lists things that the first one doesn't even though they both should have the same information (Minus a Species damage resistance)
It isn't an issue for me, I'm only showing this off incase its a symptom of something or other, or if you guys would like it fixed anyway
they might be subclass specific things? I would check that since they have different subs
I checked already. Besides, the resistances in Drone (Orange) is from rage. I know I didn't click on the thing in the image, but I can take screenshots if you would like
Maybe it's because there are two Rage classfeats, and the system is confused... I'll change Blue to cleric or something then back to see if tat fixes it
Hey so there is this new player I set up with content share in my campaign thing which should give him access to all the content but seemingly isn't
Nope, no change
having troubles adding an otherworldly patron to a dhampir bloodhunter i am making. the drop down is not showing any options to select. any suggestions?
Having difficulty with character pdf generation on dndbeyond. Whenever I download from the character's 'what's next' page I get an un-filled in sheet. Any ideas?
Win-11, Edge Version 132.0.2957.11
The 2024 class has a new character sheet option that lets you activate Rage. Those resistances are displayed while Rage is active.
The 2014 classes have not yet been updated with those options.
I’d suggest having them check whether their entitlements are in sync.

Try switching the class to either “Bloodhunter (INT)” or “Bloodhunter (WIS)”.
What are you using to open the PDF? Maybe it doesn’t support form-fillable values. You could try opening it in Adobe Acrobat or a similar program instead.
Character sheet PDFs are also cached for a short time after viewing. If you opened it before providing any character information, that could also explain it.
They are
Tried in Chrome, worked fine...local trouble.
he just cannot access my content
did you turn it on?
Do you have a specific example of something he’s trying to access? What happens when he tries?
i have the hemocraft modifier: wisdom option selected, but where would i switch the class to bloodhunter (int) or bloodhunter (wis) ?
Thank you!
I'm trying to make a homebrew feat that awards learned spells, and every time i add more than 1 spell as an option, it suddenly won't let me publish the feat. why is this?
Problem resolved, no need to reply
Where would I find these options? I can't see them in the Home section when editing the character and neither can I find it within the sheet itself
Might depend on the specific error it’s showing, but published feats can only use spells from the 2014 Basic Rules or the 2024 Free Rules, for one.
You don’t need to publish it to use it in your own campaigns, though.
i see lord of the rings book is on DNDB. does this mean if I buy that book and share it with folks, they can create new characters based on the lotr book classes/species that otherwise work just fine with other d&d things?
Custom Backgrounds, not to be confused with custom lineages, built in the character creator do not add the tools, languages, nor skill proficiencies to the character sheet.
This has probably been ask before but had anyone know how to add custom tokens to maps
It seems like it’s meant to be self-contained and not really mixed with non-LOTR options, but nothing would stop you from doing so anyway.
That’s a known issue.
Unfortunately the Custom Background portion of the character builder do not provide the added benefits that Backgrounds now receive (an Origin feat and an Ability Score Improvement). We’re working on updating this functionality - but there’s no ETA for this yet.

You can add them as a homebrew monster. Just give it a name and add an image.
@uneven lantern do you have a link to show me how to do that exactly
You can create a homebrew monster here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/homebrew/creations/create-monster
This is a pretty good guide to help you on your way: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/3625-everything-you-need-to-know-about-homebrew
There is a whole forum of tutorials as well.
In dnd beyond the new lotr stuff says theres six new classes, what are they?
The Captain, Champion, Messenger, Scholar, Treasure Hunter, and Warden.
You can see a very brief synopsis of each on this page: https://www.dndbeyond.com/classes
Had a question about char builder useablity could the lord of the rings species be used for stuff outside the lord of the rings material ?
I don’t see why not if it’s approved by your DM.
Hello. If I have more than one campaign on D&DBeyond, is there any way to move a player character from one campaign to the other?
You’d need to remove the character from their existing campaign, then use the invite link for the new campaign to add them there.
But they would be able to join with the same character sheet they already have?
Yes
Okay, can you walk me through on how to do it? :( Or, is there a guide on the FAQ I can check?
- User goes to the campaign screen where the character is currently in
- User goes to the "More" link under the character card on that screen and selects "Remove"
- User then goes to the new campaign using the new campaign's invite link
- User selects the now un-campaigned character (from step 2) and adds it to the new campaign
Thank you so much ♥️
Another question
Does anyone know if D&DBeyond supports gestalt rules? Like, having two classes but for just 1 level
Alright, thanks
species
they just do not show up
while when I edit his sheet they do
Do you have a specific example of a species he’s not able to see?
several, but Aasimar is one
also backrounds on his sheet don't work right
like he choose musician but it didn't give him the origin feat
Which Aasimar? The 2024 version?
2024 yes
If you’re editing his sheet, clearly the character is assigned to your campaign.
Did you (or anyone else) enable Content Sharing for that campaign?
Getting an Internal Server Error when trying to access my campaign. Just trying to QC my player sheets for the next session. Is there a known issue at this time?
Y e s
it works for everybody else
If all these things are true, I see no reason he wouldn’t be able to select that species.
- Content Sharing is enabled for the campaign
- Someone in the campaign owns the 2024 PHB
- The character is assigned to that campaign
- His entitlements are in sync
Mine seem to be working fine
Hello again, can someone help me with this? Still got nothing from support. Feeling my only option is to charge back on my credit card now.
works now for me as well.. must have just been a one off thing. thank you for checking.
Sorry, can you clarify here? Waiting on them for what, exactly?
I still can't reorder the PHB because I've been waiting on support this whole time.
I'm waiting for them to respond, hopefully with a solution for the bundle discounts.
I preordered the 2024 rulebook bundle. When the PHB was supposed to be shipped, it got canceled instead. I got the email to reorder it with a code so that I'd still get the discount.
I decided to add a few other books to the same order while reordering my PHB, all with physical + digital bundles. The entire physical order was canceled and I was charged some weird half discounted price on the digital books. As a result I cannot reorder without double paying for the digital portions of the bundles, and I can't get the bundle discount I was supposed to get for the PHB
does anyone know how to change the spell list for a feat like magic initiate? im trying to create a new 2024 Magic Initiate origin feat but for warlock instead of the other available options
nvm i figured out how to choose the different spell lists and such i just cant figure out how to give an option to associate them with different ability scores
I think those powers are beyond us mere mortals.
Yeah I don’t believe there to be a way to do so with a feat. Instead im just adding all the options for the different ability scores
can i get some help pls referring to dnd beyond website issues
i have purchased a few books including old 2014 PHB and DMG as well as the new 1s for 2024 but when creating character i can only pick one subclass.
for example if i create a druid only subclass option i am given is circle of land. no moon stars or sea shepherd spores etc
it is the same with every other class only get 1 choice not all like i should have
i have allowed content from all sources but still nothing
Are you using the 2014 class (
) or the 2024 one (
)?

i have tried both ways and yes
And does that same page show the PHB there under “Current Product Licenses”?
Good day! So I just subscribed to the Master Tier, I created a campaign, and then I got a new button to "Launch maps" because I want to create one, but then it says I need to subscribe?
Or start my free trial
That’s very strange, then. 🤔
see above lol make sure ur in sync
i had that same issue a month back
Hehe how far above? 😄
Here: #ddb-support message
thats how i already knew to do it for my classes when u told me @uneven lantern but still wasnt working for me now
bump
@opaque parrot
i think my issue may just be a bug so i sent ticket in
It says "Your entitlements data is in sync! You should have nothing to worry about, but contact our Support Team if you're having problems accessing your purchased content."
Lemme restart my browser.
If you’ve got the 2024 PHB, you’re using the 2024 class, and your entitlements are synced, I see no reason you wouldn’t be able to use those subclasses…
so try again now it may be in sync now but wasnt when u tried
thats what i thought to but its not showing for me thus why i sent ticket
but ty for trying to help
Do people create maps somewhere else and upload or how do you do there usually? 🙂
i use another site its free but i can dm u the link if u like
Yes please 🙂

Hi. Is the Black Friday sale currently ongoing? ***Or ***will it go into effect on Friday?
And will prices become ***cheaper ***as Black Friday approaches?
It's currently live but there's a known technical issue with the discounts not displaying except in the cart/checkout - the issue is currently being worked on.

How do I cancel a subscription?
Whenever I try to manage it, it tells me to do it with google but never shows up there
Go to your profile in DnDBeyond (https://www.dndbeyond.com/store/subscriptions/manage) and under the two subscription options is a link to cancel your subscription that will start the process.
And on the website it even just is telling me to subscribe when I already am
and yes I have tried clicking the sign in button and it has not worked
No not there - go to this link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/store/subscriptions/manage
Sounds like you may need to logout, clear browser cache, and log back in and see if that clears the gremlins out (stale cache preventing you from accessing the needed page).
Also make sure to disable any adblockers and VPNs as those can interfere with things.
using a different browser
Oh good call
nope didn't work
If this still doesn't work, it may be time to reach out to customer support
?tag ddb support
D&D Beyond customer support can be contacted at the link below. Requests are answered in the order they're received. Submitting multiple requests for the same issue can result in a delayed response.
http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
Yeah not working
it somewhat does on mobile
like it says I have the subscription just not that I can cancel it
And I mean my only thing here is just wanting to renew the subscription slightly earlier than the end date which is literally today
At this point I'd reach out to Customer Support for support with this.
I mean I could also just wait a few hours until its 11/28 and then my subscription should be done meaning I can renew it
I know for a fact customer support will take their sweetest of time responding meaning it would be pointless to contact them until after it hits tommorow
Yeah they are quite busy from what I understand with the current book releases and then it's also a US holiday tomorrow
Yeah
so I am not gonna do that
I'll just wait until the current subscription expires and then just get it again
Hey yall, Im having an issue with my D&D beyond account. On my computer, I can see my character and campaign. But if I log into the same account on another device my character and campaign are gone.
any ideas?
If you visit this page on both devices, does it show the same username?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account
Okay so I renewed my subscription, it fully went through
I got the email and everything I think
then I changed the payment method afterwards to a different one so it wouldn't renew afterwards and now its saying it didn't go through despite going through before and presumably taking the payment, what gives?
if it seriously took the money and then canceled my thing I will genuinely be pissed off because that is just stealing outright
It literally clear as day said it went through
and now its on hold due to a payment method change and it not working despite me already paying?
Ig tommorow I'll check to see if the money was refunded but if not we got a serious problem
its saying the order went through so I guess it didn't take the money? I'll just leave this here though just in case so that if it did I can follow up on it tommorow
where can i find i game to play with other people when i press on find a game there is only a server where they say you must be +18
Look through the games posted in #looking-for-players and #looking-for-community . If you find a game that interests you, private message the user that posted the game or go into the thread attached to the game post and post something to indicate you're interested in that game.
Also make sure to read through #find-a-game carefully.
If a subscription payment doesn’t go through, it will wait an hour and try again. If that still doesn’t work, the subscription is then cancelled.
If you don’t want a subscription to renew, you can cancel a subscription at any time. It will remain active for however long you’ve already paid.
It would not let me cancel anything
that right there is a lie
or I'll need a long chat with customer service in the future
So where are the sale prices supposed to display?
I'm on the individual item page and it's not showing a sale price. Either I'm doing it wrong or none of the core rulebooks are on sale? But that can't be right for a black friday sale. could it?
It shows up like this on the individual pages:
Ah okay, so it's just that none of the core rulebooks are on sale then?
The brand new books? No, though that doesn't surprise me in the least. That's common for all types of media that release this close to sales.
Neither the 2014 books
Well, they want to encourage 2024 rules update adoption, and putting those books on sale eat into that.
So their practice is to not discount their new rulebooks on black friday because theyre too new. But also not to discount their old books because they don't want people buying them anymore?
That's quite a loaded way to ask that. Plenty of old books are discounted, and they do want people buying them.
How is it loaded? It's what you just said to me?
how do I make it so a dndbeyond subscription will not autorenew?
It's loaded because it encourages a negative interpretation. Nothing they've done here surprises me or bothers me in the least, and frankly it was all expected. They want players to adopt the new rules updates, so they don't want to encourage purchasing the legacy rules.
Okay but how is that different from what I said? Regardless of interpretation. Theyre not discounting the new books because they just released - but also not discounting the old books because they want people to buy the new books
Looks like the 2014 physical rulebooks are on sale on Amazon if you want those.
Specifically the core books, not just old books.
Yes yes I do in fact mean the core rulebooks. Like PHB MM and DMG
Cool.
I still think thats the opposite of consumer friendly. But it is what it is
I already have the physical books, I just purchased a laptop specifically to go digitial in my DnD games. Shame on me for thinking Black Friday would aid in that
You're welcomed to be upset, but I think it's a stretch to call it unfriendly. It's a sale after all. That's about as much as I'll offer there, though.
I mean it makes sense to not discount the new books, and if they don't want people buying the old ones then discount those leaving stuff like tashas, xanathars, sword cost, etc left to discount
since the new phb does adapt many xanathar and tashas things but it leaves pleanty unadapted
This article has the full list of what’s in sale:
http://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/1861-epic-adventures-epic-savings-shop-d-d-beyonds
I wouldn't say I'm upset. Just confused really. If they don't want to discount their rule books on Black Friday that's their business. But it does make sense. They weren't advertising their Black Friday sale anywhere on the internet, and I know because I've been checking a lot since I bought the laptop. And If they were, it was hidden away and hard to find. So when I seen it popup on my phone I was surprised to see a sale at all, then when I went and looked at what was actually on sale, and the type of discounts there were... it all clicked. Thats why I came here to make sure I wasn't missing anything
Aight figured out how to cancel stuff
I’m preparing for Frozen Sick. I see both player maps and DM maps. I assume that I load up and display the player maps and that the DM maps are just for my reference. But I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing some cool feature of the maps being linked somehow.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey, i'm trying to buy the digital DMG 2024. But it wont let me proceed to payment? i've got it in my cart and im ready to pay, but DDB is just refusing to let me pay for the digital book, any ideas as to how I can purchase it?
Edit: I found that there's a partner site that I can go on, but I have to pay double because im getting digital AND physical, that isnt what im looking for. I'd rather only pay for the digital (and save 30 dollars). Is there a way on the partner site to ONLY get the digital?
The DM maps are exactly as you’d find them in the physical book. The player maps have the location markers, secret doors, and other such identifiers removed. There’s no functional interaction between the two.
In what way are you unable to proceed? Where exactly are you getting stuck?
"Next: Proceed to Payment" option, I click it and it does nothing. I was able to purchase it on my phone through the app, but the brower didnt let me proceed.
It’s not possible to create a feat with spells that use spell slots.
I’d recommend making a homebrew copy of your subclass and adding them there instead.
Anyone here good with Avrae issues? Tried the Avrae discord but not seeing much in the way of helpful info. I have players in my campaign that have all shared content, but their subclass does not transfer to Avrae. Example, circle of the sea druid.
What do you mean they don’t “transfer”?
When using '!level options druid' for example, that subclass is not listed
But Land, Moon, Dreams, and Shepard are
There is no built-in !level command.
Assuming that’s a user-made alias, you’d probably have to ask the user that made it.
and that would be "!level v4.511 | @Derixyleth#0636" listed at the bottom of the command?
Seems likely
Ok, thanks
It might have some sub-command you’d have to run to effectively activate those additional options.
But without knowing the alias itself, I couldn’t say for sure.
Quick question: If i buy the physical edition, but from a normal store here where I live. Isnt there a way to register this to my DM account, so I have use of this when I´m playing with the maps? Or are we "forced" to buy the digital to get this to our account? 😄
The physical books and DnDBeyond books are two separate products and the only way to get a DnDBeyond digital book with a physical book is through the digital+physical product bundles on the DnDBeyond marketplace.
So to answer your question exactly - buying a physical book does not get you the digital DnDBeyond book.
Okay 😦
Question: Trying to make a 2024 warlock and it won't let me select xanathar's guide invocations? I can select XGtE subclass but the invocations just don't appear at all? Has anyone else experienced this / is there a fix?
I have a question about homebrew subclasses: Would it be possible to outright override the functions of a class with enough subclass features effectively creating a new class?
Did they ever fix the paladins getting their oath spells automatically added for 2024?
I don't think so, at least not currently. Homebrew classes or something close is what people have been wanting a long time
Howdy, I'm trying to make a homebrew item for my campaign on DNDBeyond and I can't figure out how to make the weapon have finesse (Its base is a longsword)
"Modifier: Weapon Property->Subtype: Finesse"
Found this after a quick Google when I was struggling with same thing
Hope it helps!
Much obliged
For today’s sale, it’s only one a few select items, right? My nephew has asked me for some books (Xanathar, Tasha, and Fizban’s Dragons) but none seem to have a discount price… :/ is there a promo code somewhere I’m missing?
I think there was an issue with the sales prices not showing on the home page.
But if you click into them and/or add them to your cart, it should show the sale price.
Actually, yeah. Maybe those ones just aren’t on sale… 🤔
Nope, no sale price on the three books I mentioned. As far as I can tell only 37 items are on sale (33 digital ones) and the other 50+ items just aren’t… :/ hence why I was coming here in case I was missing something
Have you read the warlock's Pact Magic perchance?
I have a player trying to use 2014 rules monk and it is still using 1dnd rules damage scaling for unarmed attacks, cant figure out any way to fix it
question, i have a hombrew subspecies that has an armoured shell i dont want it to be able to wear heavy armour how exactly would i input that into dndbeyond if no one knows then dont worry i just figured i should ask. i dont want it to be able to wear traditional heavy armour because it would be too obstructed by its organic plated armour, i am however offering that armour be altered by certain smiths and nps etc
i might just end up honour systeming it tbh
Take a look at the tortle. They just have 17 AC and can't wear any armor but use shields. DDB can't forbid you to equip something, you just have to write a species feat and hope everyone using it is able to read.
The text for Unarmed strike\shove\grapple\initiative is still incorrect on 2014 character sheets. Is this going to be fixed at some point, or has DDB now dropped support for 2014 rules?
Hey my friend is having issues with dndb and avrae
well come with discord than those i guess
he has linked his char, improted and all joined campaign and all !char shows the char but his rolls dont show up in our rolling channel
we have tried linking with discord again but when we do it says his discord is linked with anoyher dnd beyond account
he deauthorized dnd beyond from his discord and retried but its still saying the same thing
any idea how to fix this? my other players havent had this issue
I have already sent this to avrae discord but thought better to ask here as well to reach out to mroe people
Good evening, I got a question cause I'm creating a wizard in a campaign but i can't find the magic stone cantrip in the spell list but I can find other spells from XGE. Am I missing something?e.g. Tiny Servent lvl 3 spell is shown (looks like the cantrips from XGE aren't shown)
!ddb-debug should show the username of the DDB account they’re linked to. They’ll need to sign into that account to unlink it, then sign into the correct account to link it again.
They can link/unlink from this page:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account
Magic Stone isn’t a wizard spell.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells/2391-magic-stone
(You could make a homebrew copy of the spell and change its available classes if your DM allows.)
Thanks for that
So apparently he gets an old deleted ddb account
and cant link new one

thank you very much
hey ho
so im making a hb wizard subclass based on clerics and such but i cant seem to add the full spell list to it like divine soul sorcerer does
any1 who can or knows how to help me with this?
if this is the correct chat for this that is
does anyone know why my characters arnt deleting? it keeps getting stuck on "deleting kat" or whatever character i try to delete
somehow going afaik did it
I’d recommend making a homebrew copy of Divine Soul so you can look inside and see how it was set up.
No idea. Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
i just tried it on a different device and it worked
Is it just mean or multiclassing Monk 2024 doesn't change the unarmed strike damage?
Im currently playing around character builder as Rogue. So when I took some classes in monk my unarmed strike is still 1 dmg (my strength modifier is 0)
If your Rogue is wearing armor, Martial Art Monk abilities won't work. At least that was the 2014 rule.
still cant wear armor as a monk on 2024
Yo, is there a way to take off tiefling's fire resistance? I'm playing a homebrew race with the tiefling as the base and instead of resistance i'll have vulnerability to fire. I know how to add the vulnerability but not how to take away the resistance
You’d need to make a homebrew copy of that species and change it there.
Thanks
hello im working on homebrew items at the moment im trying to create them on dnd beyond is there a way to make an item give you an extra spell slot?
Hi, is anyone having issues with the encounter builder in DDB? Several times now I have had to stop the game session mid-combat but when I've gone back to the encounter the initiatives have all disappeared and the encounter has reset to as it would be before running it. No 'resume' option. This is damned annoying!!
why i can't have acces to stuff in the dmg on dnd beyond, i bought the book but it says that i have to buy it to have acces ?
Might wanna check your entitelements in the accounts section
it on my account
some other item are working
i think its the link in the chart that are broken because i can see the description of the item if i go by the book
weird
Again, check your ENtitlements and see if they are synced
lol i'm not sure to understand what you mean by check my entitlements, where do o check that (i'm french so something i get lost in the english lol)
yes it in sync
it does the same thing using chrome or firefox. i also erase the historic and cookies on both browser still not working
thanks for your help, i've send a request to dndbeyond
Where's the most efficient place to see what I've purchased, vs what I have left to purchase? I feel like I'm missing something.
So, searching "library" will show me what's in my library, but there's no way to see the other side of the proverbial coin?
I mean, looking at the stuff that doesnt say In Library should help
I mean.. yeah. Just wondering if I was missing some "show X, not Y" thing.
Like, "hide books I already own".
Ah, yeah, unfortunately i dont think thats possible
oooooooo. good to know. Thank you.
I am having trouble making a 2024 wizard with the Graviturgy subclass
I can't find it.
I have purchased it. Is it just not compatible with 2024 wizard?
If I make a campaign on DDB can I share my purchased content with members of it without being a monthly subscriber?
Looks like partner content isn't compatible with the 2024 stuff yet
At least one person in the campaign has to be a subscriber for sharing to work, but it doesn't have to be the book owner
Oh, so if one person in a campaign (not even the owner) is a suscriber, than all other non-subscribers can share the content they have on their accounts?
Why doese the app not have subclass on the beyond account
Can you clarify? I’m not sure what you’re trying to ask.
Yeah, any Master Tier subscriber in the campaign can activate Content Sharing for that campaign.
Once it’s activated, everyone’s books get shared with everyone else.
I've noticed a bug in the character creator. Creating an Orc Fighter with hit point generation set to "Manual", the first d10 generated hit point roll resulted in a value of "12". The second generated hit point roll resulted in a value of "0". Easily corrected and worked around, but it did take me by surprise when my 1st level Fighter with a 16 Con started with an inexpicable 15 hit points.
Did they have Tough?
No. Checking the manual window the d10 roll result before adding modifiers were 12 and 0.
Hence, a potential bug.
Hi! I bought a digital copy of the 2024 Players’ Handbook and it’s saying I don’t own it? I can provide proof of the order receipt via DMs if necessary but I’m very confused
Never mind
It needed a minute apparently
At lvl 1 your starting hp is the max value of your hit die plus your constitution, in which case you’ll be get 12+3 to get a result of 15 hp. You roll your hit dice for hp when you get additional levels
I've made a Warlock Subclass and I want to share it with my players, but it says it's too similar to the template (The Fathomless) I used? I'm not really sure how it works but this is the subclass:
fixed the spell list, it's still upset with me fsr
That happens when you set the Hit Point Type to “Manual” before you’ve chosen a class.
If you’re just sharing it with your players, you can ignore those warnings and use it as-is (even with your first set of spells). It’s already shared with your campaigns automatically.
The warnings only matter if you’re trying to publish it for use by the global community.
Most of them don't use DnD Beyond - we're doing a play-by-post session in a Discord server so being able to access the site isn't usually an issue
That said, you can try hitting the main save button to re-trigger the validation.
If the issues have been resolved, those errors should clear.
I fiddled around and remade the subclass in the Legacy Warlock class and removed Elementalism (which doesn't have a backdated equivalent) and it removed the first warning
still stuck with this one tho
Legacy warlock needs at least one feature each at levels 1, 6, 10, and 14.
That does look like it’s set up correctly.
Hitting the main save button for the subclass still doesn’t clear the error, though?
which one's the main save button?
like just hit Edit and then Save?
yes that fixed it
thank you :)
Is there a list of commands used when making homebrew subclass I could see?
Is this what you're looking for?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/25930-using-snippet-codes-in-your-homebrew
What is a Snippet?
Have you spotted on the character sheet that it tells you what each feature of your class/race does? Those are snippets.
When creatin...
why is content share not an option?
One of you needs a subscription
ooooooh
Two of those just popped up on sale for today only.
https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/Sale_Cybermonday_24
why is there a limit on how many games you can share content with? and why is it only 3?
Its 5
yeah? but still the same question, why a limit at all?
now i as a DM can only have 3 campaigns at one time
yeah... but why 5? if im paying for the sub
¯_(ツ)_/¯
FWIW, while you can only activate it in five campaigns yourself, your books are also shared in campaigns where other people activate it.
so they want us to pay for the sub and content, but still restrict up on how much we share it with other players...
Again, still a business
no problems with the buisness argument, just the strict limitation, why 5, it feels like a low number
but dont they also need a sub?
Indeed
The point being you actually can share your books in a theoretically unlimited number of campaigns.
how?
You just can’t do it all on the one sub.
Or another player
Anyone Master Tier subscriber can enable it, regardless of their role in the campaign.
Whoever creates the campaign is the DM.
If you create a campaign, any Master Tier subscriber you invite to it could activate Content Sharing.
And once it’s activated, everyone’s books get shared with everyone else.
At no point in the process does anyone’s role in the campaign affect the outcome.
yeah, thanks, i just am thinking what to do now if i have more than 5 games going
Can you list multiple features on the same level so long as it adheres to the normal subclass levels, like 3, 3, 7, 15, 20?
But I could do 3, 3, 3, 7, 7, 7, 15, 15, 20?
Yes
thanks
Ok, so, I'm trying to create a Lord of the Rings character on Beyond but I see no Lord of the Rings options. The Free League box in the first screen is checked but...nada. I haven't bought the book but my best friend has it and has it shared with me like all of the other books he owns. I also have no subscription. Any advice?
Are you making it in his campaign
No, he hasn't started one yet. I just sent him a message about that
And does he have a subscription and turned on content sharing
I think he still his a subscription. I know I have access to all the books in our regular 5E campaign
oh, you can only access stuff if theyre sharing and youre in their campaign
Bollocks. Well at least it should be an easy fix. Thanks 🙂
Those errors only apply if you want to publish it to the global community. If you’re just using it in your own campaign, you can ignore those errors and use it as-is.
I'm still getting the error
After getting rid of summon elemental
But everything else is a free rules
And I ran the verify again by clicking save changes
Trying to publish it
If the error’s still there, then there’s still a problem somewhere.
Are you using any external links?
For fighting styles, i select superior technique but it doesnt allow me any option to select a maneuver
is there something im not seeing?
Is there a way to add a homebrew spell to the options provided by 2024 Magic Initiate? (Wizard specifically, but I assume it would be the same for all of them)
The options seem to be hard coded, and copying the feat as homebrew reinforces that assumption since there's no options/spells in the editor; the entire functionality seems to be "under the hood"
EDIT: Fixed it by adding the homebrew spell to the 2024 class spell list rather than the 2014 one 😅
The Resilient feat has been updated to allow only a single ability score choice. If you've previously added this feat, you'll need to remove it and add it again to see the update.
@torn spade@solid wadi@viral cargo
And for anyone interested: Fey-Touched, Poisoner, and Shadow-Touched have received similar updates. You'll likewise need to remove and re-add to get those updates.
(The ones already assigned to your sheets were left as-is to preserve any existing choices made within those feats.)
I’ve noticed this “No Choice Made” text in the Reach to the Blaze section of my EEPC Genasi’s sheet. Is it supposed to be there? What does it mean? I don’t remember if I’ve seen this before. It also is not present in the mobile app
It’s usually a signal that the feature provides some choice between multiple options and you haven’t selected one.
But in this case, I don’t actually know why it’s saying that. The rules for that species don’t provide any choices, and I don’t see that “No Choice Made” on my own character.
Can you share a link to yours?
Sure thing, here you go: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/30066910
Yeah, I don’t see it on yours either. 🤔
How odd. Thanks for your help
Well the good news is I just checked it again and it's not there anymore! Fingers crossed
I can reproduce the issue and will pass this on. Thanks!
Hello! I’ve been having issues with DND beyond educator. I was supposed to receive my SWAG box, and never got that nor my updated account?
D&D Beyond customer support can be contacted at the link below. Requests are answered in the order they're received. Submitting multiple requests for the same issue can result in a delayed response.

I have, every week for the last month, I’ve been working off the same ticket and recognize it might delay but I’m also a little baffled because this was pre-holiday.
My subscription keeps getting cancelled because it says payment hasn't been received but my card has money

You may also want to check with the bank/issuer of the card as they may be blocking the transaction on their end.
The new wild magic class already give "tamed surge" under the name "wild magic surge" at level 5? in Dnd beyond
https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/137435402/WUyqni
To clarify what Roel is describing, the snippet text for Wild Magic Surge seems accurate, but if you click it for the full description, it actually displays the text of the Level 18 feature: Tamed Chaos
It seems like it’s more than just a text mix up, since the character sheet has a Once per Long Rest use box, which presumably should be attached to Tamed Chaos instead of Wild Magic Surge
Anyone have problems buying things on DnDb?
might wanna check with your bank for that one
What kind of problems?
When I’m trying to buy something it won’t progress to the “purchase” page when I hit the red purchase button in the bottom left.
Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
I bought two physical books from dndb, was charged, and then got an email saying that my order was canceled due to payment failure. Not exactly your problem, but still a problem with buying things lol
A human I had the same problem when I bought the 2024 bundle and the DMs guide came out. Turns out the email I got was from a test account. I would make sure the from address doesn’t say test anywhere.
Will we get notified when issues like this are solved?
Maybe an ad-/script-blocker extension from your browser blocking the shop script? Had something similar a while ago.
Hey guys, whats up with the removal of spells on some classes?
I was browsing the spell list on D&D Beyond and noticed something: Witch Bolt wasn’t on the wizard’s spell list. Not only that, it wasn’t even described or detailed in the spell chapter on the D&D Beyond site. The spell has been deleted! (Although it’s still listed under the warlock’s spells.)
I did a thorough review...
A total of 41 wizard spells have been removed from their list, and 36 of them were completely deleted from the spell chapter (only 5 are still detailed in the chapter but have simply disappeared from the wizard’s list).
more possible Errata changes?
And there’s a curious pattern: some of the deleted spells are those that include the name of a famous wizard from the game in their title.
For example:
Mordenkainen’s Sword
Tasha’s Hideous Laughter
Melf’s Acid Arrow
Another pattern: almost ALL spells that begin with "Summon" have been deleted.
Summon Fey
Summon Undead
Summon Construct, etc.
The only one left is Summon Draconic Spirit (it’s still described in the spell chapter but was removed from the wizard’s spell list).
Have you purchased the Player’s Handbook?
Not all spells from the Player’s Handbook are included in the Free Rules.
The ones you’ve named are all found only in the PHB itself.
The free one, but why for example Witch Bolt is on the list of Warlock but not anymore in the Wizard list?
Power Word Heal has disappeared from the cleric's spell list, but it’s still on the bard's list.
those changes affected the free rules, some days ago was all fine
I’m not sure why the Free Rules show that spell for one but not the other. I can pass that along to the devs.
Should be either both or neither.
But Witch Bolt is indeed a wizard spell in the PHB itself (which you’d need in order to access that spell on DDB.)
My guess would be that the Free Rules spell lists are meant to include only the spells found in the Free Rules, and that Warlock got overlooked.
hmm, good guess!
ty for the help!
Does anyone know if monster stat blocks are coming to Maps soon?
This Reddit post shows what looks like a sneak preview of the feature that was pulled directly from this page on DDB. I actually saw it myself as well but at some point it looks like the page is now taken down.
Just curious if anyone has any insight into whether this feature is coming soon. It’s basically the last thing I’m waiting on to switch fully over to use Maps for all my games.
I haven't seen any official announcement.
The new hammer of thunderbolts is setting my strength to 20 instead of 29.
Yeah, I think it doesn't work with the way Belts of Strength are programmed. You might have to manually set your Strength to what it should be.
I've passed that along for review, though.
But for now, yeah, you can use the "Override Score" box there to directly set it instead.
Actually, should be fixed already!
(You may need to remove and re-add the item first.)
Is it possible to manually add a spell to the list of spells a character has that they wouldn't ordinarily learn on Beyond?
There's a few different ways, depending on the situation.
For example: is this being added to their class spell list so they can prepare it, or is it always prepared?
Whatever the situation, though, the answer invariably involves using the homebrew system.
Generally the idea was that it was always prepared, I'm looking to replace one spell from a Druid's Circle Spells feature with another.
Hi so I bought a 50th edition package and now I won't get the two already-released physical copies of the DMG and the PHB until February when the MM is released.
How do I get a refund?
Then I'd just make a homebrew copy of that subclass and change it there.
You'd need to talk to customer support.
?tag ddb support

http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
how do you make it so that when a homebrew subclass gives you a language, you can pick a different language to learn if you already know that language?
I don't believe that's an option.
Is this just for your own campaign? If so, I'd just have the player manually add a language of their choice directly on the character sheet.
Oh yeah they don't respond to those tickets
Is there a phone number where I can call a real person?
The "customer support" is not very supportive
Do we have any idea when 2024 custom background support is set to become a proper thing on DDB?
what code would I wanna use for homebrew if I want a subclass to give fly speed equal to your movement speed?
Tickets are answered in the order they're received, so the exact wait time can vary depending on how many tickets are ahead of yours.
I think they've been a bit backed up lately, but they are indeed answering them.
I'm afraid those tickets are the only way to get in touch with them, though.
- Type: "Set"
- Subtype: "Innate Speed (Walking)" or "Speed (Walking)"
- Fixed Value: (none)
I honestly don't know the difference between making it "innate" or not. 😅
If you leave the Fixed Value blank, though, it'll then match your walking speed.
innate is your base walking speed, like inherint
But how do those differ on the character sheet itself? I don't know what changes if I pick one over the other.
im so confused on variants like how do they work??
Variant... what?
human variant
It just provides a different feature set from the non-variant human.
They're both still narratively human.
ohhh
never actualy made a dnd character so i have no idea what im doin
mostly lookin at the official webpage tryna figure things out as i go
Head on over to #dnd-newcomers! They can help you get started.
ty!
(This channel is for getting help with the website D&D Beyond.)
Happens all the time. Don't sweat it.
has anyone with an Educator's License had the 2024 dmg and phb added to their account?
Thank you! It didn't say test, but support responded to my email surprisingly quickly so it was sorted out. Thank you for the help, though!
Fixed!
I still see it when looking at my sheet.
Does it need some time to apply?
Yeah, might take a little bit for the cache to clear.
(You could try removing and readding the subclass, or level up and down to try and speed it up.)
from my understanding is that Evocation Savant adds spells to spellbook but d&D beyond is treating the spells as always prep and not counting against the spells the wizard can preps much like a Sorcerer. Is this addendum to the rules that not found in the 2024 PHB? I not see a real disbalance to having a 17th level Evoker having 31 spells prep, just saying this not seem consistent with the wording with Evocation Savant.
Any way to add Battle Master Maneuvers (Brace) and Invocations (Improved Pact Weapon)? For example, a 2024 Warlock with Hexblade Subclass.
btw, thank you. that did resolve my issue, i have requested a full refund of all digital and physical copies of the 50th anniversary edition of the source books.
I'm trying to homebrew a item on dnd beyond
its a musket that does 3d12 bludgeoning damage on hit, instead of the 1d10
but when i try, ti doesnt work and instead does 1d12 despite me setting it to 3d12
*it
You might have to make a custom magic item then add the modifier damage then piercing
innate is like how your base ac is usually just 10 while speed speed is like a bonus or just overall change anything else be damned
how?
You’d need Type: Bonus and Subtype: Speed in order to add to an existing speed.
Type: Set is used when you want to provide a specific value.
But Type: Set is what then has the two different kinds of speed Subtypes.
- Go to create magic item
- Press create from scratch
- Under Base Item Type press Weapon
- Then go to Base Weapon then select musket
- After doing the name, description, and rarity go to Add a Modifer
- In Modifier type select damage, in Subtype select piercing, under Dice Count select 2, and under Die Type select d12
that's what i did
and it just kept it as a 1d12
ill remake the item again and try
I think if you make a weapon BASED on a weapon it uses the weapon's base damage. (I also think Modified damage is added to the base damage rolls)
explain a bit?
also im pretty sure when making a custom magic item you have to have a base weapon
DO not make it a weapon then. Try making it a wonderous item.
how do i give that item an action?
You can’t
I’d recommend just adding a custom action directly on the character sheet.
well rip
I just tried to create it but only got to give the item 3D12 Bludgeoning damage. No Range or other features. Only test I used was Boom Stick and said I cannot share due to non-english language used.
Can make custom weapon BUT NO NOTE INFORMATION. (Properties/Mastery Info)
Any Way a 2024 Warlock with Hexblade Subclass can add Improved Pact Weapon invocation in character Builder?
Any word on any upcoming fixes (besides turning Slides to radio Buttons)
Where can I set a setting to disable the 2024 core rules, so players don't get confused during charecter creation? (playing with 2014 ruleset)
You can't. DDB have chosen to make it difficult to use just the 2014 rules. You'll also notice that some of the rules on the character sheet are 2024 only (e.g. Unarmed Strike/Grapple/Shove), and there is apparently no plan to restore the 2014 wording, not even under a "legacy" heading like they have on some other rules.
Awesome...Well, if they don't want our money then its fair enough
I thought one of the incentives to use/subscribe to DDBeyond was the Character Creator. the supposed ease of using DDBeyond to make your 2014 or 2024 character is a source of amusement for WotC?
NO word of "We are working on making sure your warlock has access to all available Invocations based on Version of main class. (Add a comment on the old innovations saying now that Warlocks can cast rituals Invocation XXXX is not needed.) How can I use DDBeyond to give my 2024 Warlock with the HexBlade Subclass Improved Pact Weapon?
Also give Battle Master access to missing Maneuvers (I Miss Brace)
Shouldn't be needed to scroll. Should not be needed to set filters on spell lists.
Should not be needed to go back and forth in menues for a player to figure out if the spell/class/race/.. is part of the ruleset that the campaign is using.
Especially new players have enough to think about with playing the game and having fun.. The UI should not be a problem-maker, rather it should make it easy for them by only showing selections that are avalable
(completely new to the server but also completely new to online dnd and dnd itself somewhat) as a semi new player to all of this can i put my 10 cents in? in my opinion despite all the scrolling and all that having it all in one place can be a struggle but its also nice, if i really wanted something i can just look for it in one go rather than flipping through a 1000 page hardback spell book to find the exact one i want, and its not that tough a job to scroll down to the races its 1 fluid motion scroll and for what its worth whether you're doing tabletop or online dnd you're gonna spend hours going through all the bullshit when you're new and when you're a veteran the only diffrence is memerization.
Its the difference between telling a new player:
a:
Create account on DDB
Click this campaign link and join
Create a character, the webside will guide you through the choises and just ask me anything
or
b:
Create account on DDB
Click this campaign link and join
Create a character but be mindfull to disable these 7 settings and enable these 4, when you enable this one you must disable this one after.
When you select your race make sure to scrool down to there it says 2014, but you can also pick the articificer even though its not in 2014.
When picking race be carefull you don't pick any from the 2024 list, or the volo list, or any of the other lists that I can't disable.
Right, now your character is created, as a spellcaster you can go through your choises, but make sure that each and every time you go to manage spell you remember to remove this tick, and add these ticks.
Now, when you look at the actions it says unarmed attacked, note that the wording there is not correct...
You have fingers. You can use them to click on the tabs.
in all seriousness dude. i think this is just a you problem🤷♂️
i have never in my time of doing this met somone that would rather complain than figure it out, dispite everything dnd beyond is set up in the most non confusing way the devs could figure out and if you need to learn anything you have acsess to the books on the website too
so instead of ranting here just sit down take a breather and do some reading, it will help improve your short and long term memory and the action of scrolling while it wont do much its more just a proof of attention span.
That's practically 90% of the issues people had with stuff in general.
I know the rules well enough, but having brand new players its a problem when they click on something and its says "This is the rules for..." and we then have to go over that no, its not, thats just DDB showing a different ruleset
maybe its an attention span problem? i have no problem with any of it infact i find it fun, though the only thing i really have a problem with is items like weapons having no price
It's a laziness problem.
- The problem being, its a bad experience for them = less fun
Then scroll down until you find the 2014 rules. It's not that hard to find them.
thats where if they're having a tough time they have the people around them to ask for help
It's like Ruben said, Zub. It's a you problem.
thats what dnd is all about its an experience you're ment to have fun and explore WITH FRIENDS and sure its confusing and tough but once you figure it out then you get into all the other stuff
and if you think charachter creation is a problem the dms have alot to run through (they deserve alot of respect especially if they can create a totally original idea)
Alright, folks. Time to drop it.
DDB had the absolutly best UI in my opinion.
Then they converted to 2024, it would still be the best UI, just for a different system.
Then they reverted and said they kept 2014 as an option... And the result is a mixed mess of possible confusion, rather than just keeping the two seperate....
Thas a UI problem
https://www.dndbeyond.com/classes/12-rogue#Thief
Legacy Rogue seems like somethings didn't take over well when yall worked on the '14 and '24 system in the background. Thats what I just noticed now but might be worth checking out throughout all of the legacy subclasses
I am starting a new campaign. I want to run it with 2024 rules. Am I supposed to have everyone uncheck 2014 core rules in their settings?
Can you print off spell cards or ability details for 5e 2024 like you used to be able to do with 4e? I have new players starting and trying to find a way to do this without me having to recreate the wheel.
I’ve passed that to the devs for review. Thanks!
If you don’t want any character options from those books to be displayed, then yes.
There’s no such feature on D&D Beyond, at least. You could try asking in #third-party.
how do you add a custom inventory to a sheet?
Go to Equipment > Manage Equipment > Add Custom Item
I tried to add Brace to my 2024 Battle Master and My 2024 Warlock with Hexblade subclass unable to add Improved Pact Weapon invocation. Any work around?
You could manually add those to your sheet as custom actions.
Or make a homebrew copy of that subclass and add it there.
You don't have to.
How else do you avoid the confusion of a mixed ruleset?
Does DDBeyond consist all of the backgrounds?
All official backgrounds are available on D&D Beyond, if that’s what you’re trying to ask.
There are only 4 backgrounds in the 2024 free rules. The rest you have to own the source book that they are in on DnD Beyond
I’m trying to do a homebrew of the backgrounds that doesnt are available, but i’m not managing to get the 2/1 ou 1/1/1 rule to work
i’m using an existed one as template; but i’m not finding where to set this
For the 2024 backgrounds? I think the homebrew tools havent been updated for the 2024 rules yet.
If you choose one of the news ones as templates you can
But this option in specific is not showing
I believe they currently use back-end magic to make it work.
i’m gonna have to do it in the old version
and its sad because they changed the itens system too
kkkkkkkk
My belief is that the homebrew tools wont be fully updated till after the 2024 Monster Manuel comes out next year, but that is just a guess
Where do i get my class badge?
@dense viper this is what i'm talking about... there is no place in the backgrounds homebrew to ser this
Im pretty confident that it is back end stuff they are using but as a work around you can do that by having your background give a custom feat that has that as a modifier
Its still kind of clunky that way though
I was advised to come here for assistance building my homebrew subclass at least on the more mechanical side of things. Am I in the right place?
This is the right place. I would advise that you say what you are having trouble with then when someone has time they will answer or advise.
I have two things I want to make. But I will start with the simpler of the two.
I want to create a resource. Similar to Ki or Sorcery points. I want to create a wizard subclass that can use special abilities in order to modify aspects of their spell casting for a price.
wait i think i got it
The quickest way to figure these out is to find an official subclass that works like you want. Then you can make a homebrew copy of it to peek inside and see how they set it up.
In this case, you’ll need to add an Action and give it a Reset Type.
Then after you save, there will be a Limited Use section at the bottom of the page.
I see. I know when I tried to look at monk I wasn't sure where the ki stuff was located but ill try again
is there are a way of making setting a homebrew species that doesn't use dexterity in his ac at all? (unarmored or armored)?
like, his base AC is gonna be X+CON
and i want that when he is using armor, the armor is gonna give him X+CON too
no dexterity AT ALL
I don't think that's possible.
You could change the base AC, but not how armor works.
(Unless you also homebrew the armor, maybe, but it's probably easier just to manually set their AC.)
Ki is a class feature. You'd need another subclass feature to compare, like battle master maneuvers.
Oh battle master Maneuvers THAT IS PERFECT THANK YOU.
in the homebrew options, there are:
- Set -> AC Max Dex Armored Modifier
- Set -> AC Max Dex Modifier
- Set -> AC Max Dex Unarmored Modifier
If i set all those values to 0
and then:
- Ignore -> Unarmored Dex AC Bonus
- Ignore -> Unarmored Dex AC Bonus
theoretically i will not get any bonus from dex in my ac right? from any source
and then i can go and:
- Bonus -> All types of Armor Class -> CON
is my thought right?
I doubt it, but you'd have to try it to know for sure.
