I spend 30B par plus other mats/rss on a lvl 48 dock and lvl 48 platform and got about 6M points (3% of total needed for the alliance). The rewards are complete garbage for the amount of effort required to complete these new "power increase" events.

The logic behind that is not the power your ship itself increases but how much player power increases by upgrading that ship

Just like everyone else has said, the AMS is impossible. I get a few hundred points for spending 1.5 mil in officer XP, nothing for ship XP and a few hundred thousand at most for a research or building. With a 70 person alliance each person needs millions of points so basically impossible. Terrible event!

Two things:

1. Stop forcing me to side with the Klingons when my main faction is Romulans. I'm sick of being forced to get more Klingon credits when I need as many Romulan credits as possible and already have a stupidly high amount of Klingon credits
2. The power gain events have been ridiculous for multiple reasons recently, including it being way more expensive to get points now that you've removed both officer and ship xp as well as making the goal increasingly ridiculously high. You really, really need to either add back in easier ways to earn points or lower the goal to make it possible to actually complete these power gain events.

That will be from other faction specific research. The client struggles to tell faction and ships when docked, so either over or under applies them in the display. When you leave dock this specific issue corrects though.

That’s why it’s different from like Latinum looting you score when you loot attack the ship, or other mining events you scored when you hopped off the mine, this is different where you have to take back to base first.

So hey they may have made it so it doesn’t this time, where looting won’t count, but I don’t see how, because the scoring trigger happens when you get to base, I don’t think they would be able to track exactly where you got it from, unless it’s only limited to what a miner brings home

1st place rewards in the Klingon conquests SLB seem to be wrong.... if you are doing the other side and killing klingons you are getting 1bn PS tokens even down to 25 or 50th place.... someone needs to fix it as there is no incentive to compete and burn directives. Its would cost more trit to repair your ships from all the armada than you win

Upgrading components, leveling them up, upgrading various station modules, improving various research, or hitting higher stat bonuses with officer assignments, as well as some territory buffs, exocomps and officer abilities may also increase ship strength.
If you're looking at it for event scoring though you'll need to look at the scoring card for the event. Some will score by ship XP used, others by materials or parts used, and some (like this current power AMS effect) won't count at all.

I don't know that leveling a ship actually adds to power anyway. Not exactly exhaustive testing, but I did a quick check before and after a couple of levels on a little ship and saw no change in my player power 😬
Though points from ships were removed for the event anyway as far as I can tell (I didn't even realise they were a part of it originally until I went digging through early on screenshots).

Adding XP to ship should add to power as it adds hull strength to the ship, thus making it more powerful and therefore making you more powerful.... It's just a very very very small amount 🤣 🤣

Before and after dropping 100k ship XP, cleared localisation and restart before each screenshot to try and avoid any update issues. It looks to me like increasing ship level does nothing for your player power, just your ship power.

One of the big problems I see is Scopley is changing the behavior of their players. So many are under the impression that you have to do and finish each available event. That's not true. Also seems a lot of you have major problems managing your resources (not par, tri..). You basically gotta hoard a lot of stuff until you have(!) to use it. Especially if you are f2p you have to be very strict about using valuable resources like dirs, mats etc.
There are so many players just using up all their stuff at random times and then without keeping a certain reserve.
Sometimes you have to collect rare dirs for 1-2 months without doing a single rare. Otherwise just buy it.

And it wasn't advertised as free to get the new officer. All they mentioned was it could be unlocked through playing without spending real money just like last month.

Ok, they have presented a series of events where one can mathematically earn all the officer shards without making a purchase. However, the participation requirements have become so burdensome that the natural progression of the event is for a certain percentage to purchase conveniently placed game packs to lessen the burden for the rest of the team. The event sucks them in and after they’ve invested too much time to not get far enough as they had hoped, extracts fees from those who just want the last six hours of their lives back. Yes, that sounds much more acceptable.

As opposed to not being able to get the Officer because it would get done via an auction style event is so much better where even less people get the chance to get the Officer.

People have been wanting to be able to get the officers in a way wothout have to spend as much or any at all.

Re the new officer format. I much preferred being able to save all my 3* and score for them that way. BUT that wasn’t great for all either. If a dolphin bought 1 galactic armadas pack it would cover maybe 2 instances of this new ‘Officer auction’ format? It’s not f2p but nothing ever is here. BUT saying that. I remember when f2p meant twice as long as to get Saladin etc etc. The game has got easier in so many ways for f2p and the smaller sea mammals amongst us.

Yes for events actually it’s just a matter of planning. If your alliance is entirely f2p you all need to plan carefully. In theory if everyone in your alliance can host 5 person armadas and all start three full rare armadas that’s enough for everyone to finish this event, and you can get three rares per month f2p.

today 2x 24hr = 20
