Well DOPELY did it again, "Hey lets have an even where none of the system we assign are even remotely consistent based on the lvl of the person. That way while it might take some people minutes to complete the even it will take others hours, almost the complete 24 hours to get it done." "Sounds good. While you are at it, make it impossible for some people to even complete by making it dependent on the ships you use so people who who are skipping ships to save up for better ones have no hope of participating."

With the armadas it would have been easier, especially for players who participate and not start the armada. This first run of planet killer today doesn't yet have armadas available (despite the option to score in the event with them) which is the main issue here. It is definitely a miss on this first run here. Next time this runs, it should be easier with the armadas too but we are looking to see if we can add lvl 28 ships too for the lower segment.

I'm already at a disadvantage in the solo leaderboard because my level 28 faction ship has less hull health than an ops 32 or 34 ship, but by excluding the ships I do have access to, I'm unable to even complete the solo milestone.

So its easy, just shut it down and compensate people. Fix it for next time. I'm sure someone has already made this point to Scopely, but from a very practical sense I have a 1.1m Centurion with (rounded up) 500k Hull Health, a goal for a 24 hour event of 4.8m points of hull (apparently) damage to my ship, and the ship takes 6.5 hours to repair without speedups...

Basic math, I have to kill off my ship 10 times to complete the event, and that is 2.7 days of repairs. I know we get an allotment of speedups every day, but if the mantra is that it should be possible to complete the core events for F2P players, this doesn't seem to add up...

bare minimum of 40 hours of speedups needed to do this event. Is this really a practical expectation for F2P players?

This is ridiculous ... I must take 4.8m damage. I take max 7000 damage against my Saladin. That 7000 I’m getting from lvl36 explorer worm.
I only have Benga as an officer I don’t even have officer below deck.
So according to my calculation I must kill 685 explorer worms, and that is if I only kill lvl36 explorer worms and at the rate it spawns it will never happen.

In fact you have to get killed to get points. But HAVE to use ships much stronger than the enemy ships. One thing then I am out. The game is programmed to get you to spend. All the way from the beginning teasing better things more research to have you get out in front of yourself so that you may have to spend to keep up or re-balance. The 34 ships are to push you to rush to 34 to buy one, the research is the same thing. Max your research, station, and have the money to buy the ship at the shipyard level.

Having a higher ops level than your current ships has been an issue since the beginning of this games life. It started with the sepratist event with the huge jump in points at level 28. So listen up and listen good. If you cross an ops level where you get new ships, your events will ALWAYS get harder.

@twilit imp We discovered today that some players cannot do the Planet Killer missions because of the limits placed on the event. I have several teammates who just became level 34, but never built a level 32 ship. These players are limited to using level 32 & 34 ships, but have none to choose from. This is completely unfair. More unfair than the level 42 plus that cannot use their Iss Jelly and have to use G4 faction and pay exorbitant amounts of Trit for repairs, and more unfair than level 32 & Level 33 players who had to kill over 60 worms per milestone (that was over 240 kills just to finish the event today) because their ships were twice as strong as the strongest worms and killed them without taking much damage.
Please pass this on to the Dev team as everything I have outlined goes against the promises of 1) Fairness, 2) cost vs reward & 3) Game time balance. All three promises have been discussed by yourself in previous Arc releases in the last 12 months.

My ship has only one hull. Destroying it can score only so many points. Who thought self-destruction dozens of times to score points was a good idea?

Terrible as the event is, I'm finding that using Marla, Joaquin, and Joakim with no below deck crew keeps stats low, no officer abilities for combat, and reduces repair time for a ton of savings for speedups. Make the best of it if you decide to do the event.

This Planetkiller SMS/SLB seems pretty terrible.. you haveto take 4.8M damage in your sally, which is 8x repairs by killing low level hostiles in 2 systems (because you cant do armadas without the new tokens) and are competing against the rest of your galaxy because they are shoved into 2 systems... how is this a good event?

Your own choice to skip rare to take epic. But don't blame others for your own choice, not "everyone" advice to skip them, my gladius is use more often than my t5 jelly to this day and is absolutely useful.

Don't worry, if you are closer from augur now, it s not logical to go back to gladius. The pb with the event was bring to the dev, so hopefully next run they will change it so you can use lvl 28 ships too. Wait and see

I'm Ops 35 without an Epic ship, but still found the solo milestone event doable because I have a B'Rel but the leaderboard event I'm skipping because the best I can get out of my B'Rel is 650k pts per hull

Nope the whales are wrecking the server hoping to get to merge with another. Forced many to join them. Can’t fight ships 16 mil and your 1.3 mil . We have been started since the beginning November 2018.

@twilit imp when deciding what to do with this event moving forward. Please keep in mind almost all of the scopley approved content creators have encouraged skipping ships and ops levels to progress more quickly through the game. I’m not sure why this event didn’t have a layout of the schedule and event description like the previous arcs have. But this could have been avoided with a little more transparency. #returntheburn.

always good rule of thumb research as much as u can for your given ops level and move up in odd numbers because even numbers your dalies dont change

Ah. My problem is if you skipped an ops level or a ship you might not be able to compete at all. I can participate but I need to do about 200 kills to finish

You do but even with just one officer as captain, it still takes a LOT of hull damage to finish. Given worms at that bracket do at best 75k of hull damage, fighting amonsts 50 other players and various other things. It sucks big time. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the reward was something other than 30k neutronium. Which depending on what you are after and need is nearly nothing.
