this is really only balanced towards people who have the new ship brought up to their grade, and their other ships at levels only attainable at the higher end of their grade.

It should be relevant on purchase for ops 45. I think it'll be a burden in ESWD for a G6 player as it is without additional spend/time.

If you can manage to drag it along as a G6, it'll give you a bunch of ESC this month so it's not a complete waste. The main points for a l2p player in G6 is probably the refinery.

So what am I missing. As an ops sixty all of the wave SMSes today require me to do the toughest elite waves WITH the gs31. Out of the shipyard level five, it can’t kill a single hostile in wave one. So I score zero points even if I finish wave one.

So the new ship is a money grab. Worse than all the others. You need to complete elite waves with the ship to be able to upgrade it, but the ship is worthless until it’s upgraded. Catch 22.

This is what I’m running into. It is losing chunks of hull on wave two of the g5 elite waves, as an ops 60.

FWIW, I cleared two waves of the level 45 elite solo WD, and that gave me enough to full pull the refinery and upgrade the GS-31 a bit (armor and shields). Doesn't help for the event, but it does provide a path to bootstrap the ship itself.

I'm more concerned with the solo WD ciphers still having a 3-day cooldown, and now we have something else we're supposed to do that requires them.

The Alpha-Epsilon events are not Elite SWD events. Run a regular SWD to finish them.

These surveys are typically less bluntly direct about it, but that's why - they want to know what kind of stuff to address if/when they put out an emergency facelift on the new content.

You dont need a survey for that. 1 minute looking through any of the feedback channels here tells you whats wrong and where to make changes. I mean common sense should be enough to know that people would be angry that the praised best sort of ship parts is meh at best and worse than other sources.

The feedback channels here link opinions with discord usernames that anyone else with access to the channel can see, which changes the sorts of feedback you get.

Also, it's a lot less work to analyze google form responses ranging from 'strongly agree' to 'strongly disagree' and turn that into a chart for your boss to look at than it is to read a few hundred discord comments and then turn that into a short summary your boss can read and understand.

Not going to name and shame, but the person running this arc also had some similar issues in the last one they ran. The last one they ran had some amazing positives as well, but there were some huge negatives and scheduling things. That was the arc where they removed the weekend mat spend events, as an example. That didnt go over well.

Now we have the GS31 debacle in that it was advertised as the solution to ship part woes. Not only is the refinery underwhelming, the loop is frustrating to actually succeed in (even for mega whales I hear). Where it takes the directives away from regular solo waves, its another added woe. First ship I have skipped in eons. We need more ships like the revenant where it was good at its job from day one, the upgrading loop is reasonable, and the loop upkeep is also reasonable. Like most others, I will eventually get a GS31 free, and then the two years it will take to upgrade it to be useful will be long after its loop is even meaningful...

So I'm currently sitting at OPS 47 keeping up with research and evening before I push to 48. So Scopely puts an offer in my store for $99 with a bunch of resources and an 3 day exo that will make all station models take under 5 minutes to complete. I remember reading somewhere about the push to G5 and I'm sure this is part of it. I know they claimed there would be a special reward for those that reach G5 within a certain time period. I never said anything about getting rid of rss/materials. (That was AdmiralJTQuirk, who replied to me). I just think the quantities should be bumped up. Look how much we get out of the new 12 hour SMS and daily once a week ones. Ticketed events should rank significantly higher than those in terms of payout, because they’re limited (and some literally pay to run them).

It was originally, and almost the entire community fought to have it devalued in the algorithm. Nobody was okay with the fact that it was going to take a few months for people to settle into ranks where things would be more evenly matched.
Also, G4 players who skyrocketed to Gold+ within weeks didn't want to end up losing their ranking by being matched up with G5+ teams of lower rank all the time.

The people, not Scopely, screwed up matchmaking long-term with their short-sightedness.

Agree, but Scopely did the setup. The first filter they ditched was the ranking. And they kept it locked in a box. We screamed for teams made from the server and that was ignored for too long. Meanwhile more and more players were fed up with the game-in-game. So re-enabling ranking wasn’t an option anymore as the player base spread too thin.

Which is frustrating because 2 ops levels makes a huge difference in terms of ships available. Facing a ship that's 6x your power is a ridiculous in matching strategy.

Nope, that is correct. +/- 4 to match up with opposing leader. Then there is +/- 4 for that team as well. So yes you can face an ops 50 player if the squad leader is +4 of you. 42 + 4= 46 + 4= 50

There really is no minimum power per se. A lot will depend on your ships, crews, and the Krenim research you have done.

With that being said, your biggest barrier will be warp range. If the only ship you have is say an NX-01 and a Voyager that can get there because of the range, then you are probably going to have a rough go of it.

Well, here is what I advise. Your ships could stand a chance on them, but it could be close. Only way to find out is to try. What I would advise doing is running one and seeing. If you want to pad it and give yourself some breathing room, use a Ceritos and Max Fortify with a Titan-A.

I would also suggest putting at least Torres below decks, especially if you have her at T5. Same with the other Voyager Status Effect officers. Getting hull breech and burning will only help you. Moral on the Ent will also be a benefit if you have room for Kim if his tier is high enough. Also, make sure you stack below decks with other good effect officers. I don’t know your officer selection or tiers, but things like Tendi for added hull is usually a good choice. Also, there are a host of characters that will hit the isolytic stats or the apex barrier stats that can help you.

Honestly, that’s why power is such a poor determinant to figure out if you are good enough for something. So much boils down to crews and research along with specialty buffs that I’ve small ships become wreckballs and big ships go splat on the same hostile/armada.

While I’m not a dev or event runner, I don’t think you will see a framed arc event for this stuff anymore since they moved that to be a repeating event under the new 12 and 24 hour daily event structures.

The 24 hour artifact event is basically the old arc event. Big points for tiering up or unlocked artifacts. I like this method better personally. Now, I am sitting on upgrades for far less time compared to before.
