Kill it will get you 2 chests, 1 for kill and 1 for survival.

They have loot as well but it's such a small amount it's not really worth worrying about (unless you're super close to opening another reward claim).

This is what I found. I beat one yesterday and survived but did not defeat one today (vs lvl 42s). The survival chests were 13k salvage each. The chest for defeating it was 1950 salvage.

Sounds like it's working as intended. The kill rewards are meh. The survival rewards are the bulk of the loot. Obviously Killing them is "more" loot and well more loot is more loot.

For me, the timing of SLB one day before Heroic SMS feels like a slap in my face. I spent all in the SLB, just to see that I was fooled by Scopely. And because of this feeling I have, I rethink my spending behavior for the next time.
Sure you can change mechanics from time to time and sure, not everything is needed to be announced weeks or months before. But this time it was intentionally or not intentionally a disadvantage for the players.

Eco already confirmed the new way is a slot machine basically. Chance of 1 shard up to 100. Where we know the odds will be heavily weighed to the low end, we can judge ahead of time and call it worse.

Also the slb is not the real issue, I am fairly certain they are taking the sms away too. People ,f2p and spenders alike, save for those and plan and enjoy them.

For whatever reason they decided to cancel the normal mat spend event. Apparently there is going to be a way to get shards, but it requires completion of the heroic events. (in other words, tons of money).

I'm a spender, but I don't do the heroic events. They are never worth the cost. Packs get you more stuff for cheaper lol.

I would have been ok with this kind of method of getting Q if the chances and the number of shards were different.

With Eco's change you either have to complete the heroic events, which takes hundreds of dollars, as some of them are to max out the new rare officers.
The other option is to purchase the packs they put out today. You get these items which are used for a random chance of a few shards and basically 0% chance of 100 shards.
From what I've heard from people so far, it's absolutely not worth spending on. A huge cash sink either way you go.

I would like to express my disappointment with the event „Q’s Galactic Challenge“. I had assumed that this event relates exclusively to our server.
If I had known in advance that this event is cross-server and players from many servers are involved, I would not have decided to invest money in this event. It would have been much more effective to direct these expenses to another project within the game.

To be honest, I feel a little deceived now. I ask that in the future we inform more transparently about the framework conditions of such events, so that players can make an informed decision.

Well at ops 58 arenas are a complete right off for me.

Problem is players know how to manipulate the match making. 1 x ops 56/57 and 2 x ops 63+. Unless you can field a similar team team your up 💩 creak without a paddle as you are fighting 4 x G5 epic, and maybe even G6 ships. You might as well just give up.

From Scopleys POV it's a tough one to crack. G5 to G6 cross over is always going to be a cluster **** for the G5 players. (I imagine it's the same for G4 to G5 cross over too).

The biggest problem with Arenas isn’t the matching. The short schedule and very heavy grind time this event requires makes Arenas infuriating.

If I win 50% of my matches, at least~15 mins per match, it will take 15 matches to get enough loot to do max pulls every day for the week. That translates to 3 hours and 45 minutes of full-focused gameplay. Out of an 8 hour window.

I don’t have that kind of free time any night of the week. So that leaves great buffs (especially BP cost redux and premium dust for research) out of reach for me. I compete hard in every feature I can, I want to get as much from the game as I can. But I just can’t put that kind of time into Arenas. So, if I fall behind there, why bother competing hard elsewhere? Or compete in this game at all?

I had to restart the game twice because my ship was stuck in “Warp” when I repaired it and sent it back into battle (also, frozen and couldn’t repair before that)
So yeah, Scoply fix this part of the game. If you want to keep the regular everyday lag, cool. But if arenas is supposed to not DOA like Assaults fix the lag in Arenas!

They're not even PvP. While it might help to have the biggest ship there's no guarantee your squad will win.

In the round immediately after yours, I ran into this guy, who flattened everything I had. Same squad. The other 2 were 50 and 51. My 49 teammates couldn't do much either.

And yet another round, I ran I to this 61 and did just fine until he brought out a maxed ent D.

Given the time on arenas, I barely get to participate. I have a RL commitment from 4-10 every Monday, so I usually am lucky to get into maybe 3 or 4 before it ends. I take whatever I can get just to get a few points.

Not bothering to post any matchup screenshots. Did 3 yesterday. First one was reasonably balanced and was a close match. The other 2 matches were hopelessly unbalanced. Didn’t even get 100 points in either. Strongest member of opposition had more power than our entire team. One had a 67 with our highest 63. Had 9B ship against our strongest at 2.8B. Ship was extremely fast. We lost 12 ships in less than 2 minutes. The matchups while improved are still hopelessly broken.

SLB at previous schedule would have had an option for synergy on day two (like the last run). Apparently Scopely wants to make it harder for us.
