So. Incursions. We have a couple of high level players on our server that will hoard resources, wait for an incursion, drop shields and invite the invading server to raid them. They can play however they want, but it makes incursions not worth engaging with. Are scopely looking into mechanics to balance out this kind of behaviour?

A pvp arc that embeds bullying by higher levels against the lower levels ( I doubt there will be ops bands for scoring) just means that all server ROEs will go out the window, I will be interested how scoring works though, if it encourages hitting miners before they exceed PC limits for damage points then the game will end!

IF scopely would put actual pvp in the game, that would help. There is actually no pvp in here, just WvW (wallet versus Wallet). i'm 48 and had planned on spending to jump to 53 as soon as scopely fixed the G5/G6 brackets and got them split out, but now sounds like there is a strong chance I just move on. I'll try to stay optimistic that they will do something correct on this, but based on their past trends with "pvp", i'm guessing many servers are about to lose a lot of f2p to dolphin type players.

Well I have to say this is the the worst idea Scopely have had, since introducing incursions. It IS a terrible idea without having some kind of restrictions/safeguards in place for the more casual players. We all know what the servers look like when incisions come rolling through. So, I'm already hating the new arc (45) if they really intend to have a week long alliance PvP event, because PvP has never been about skill, and only what youve bought, which makes it not worth BUYing into that part of the game structure. As well, the OPS level bands for PVP are too wide, and when in a Territory Defense, it is just too easy for a lvl 60 come take out EVERYONE from ANY OPS level by themself not because they are fighting to take a territory from an alliance (because they haven't even bought in), but because (and I'm quoting someone here) "I like to making things go boom".

You can tell me that is how the game is supposed to be, because you built it that way, but there's no realistic reason for the OPS bands to be as wide as they are (or the unlimited OPS level range in Territory Defense) except to justify letting the whales beat down on whoever they want to whenever they want to without reason (except that they've paid for that privilege).

So basically my server is whale cenctric and ive never had an issue competing in pvp. I blow up more ppl than kill me bigger sometimes even. What kind of chance do I have to stop them. NONE. I couldn’t even run because each one attacked while I was in the Show Your Mettle dialog. I don’t know what could make you turn on many of your players like this. At least in the past when there was PvP you limited it to certain systems. I could avoid them. This may or may not work for some servers... I have posed to S100 that we stage a lot of Realta PvP inside territory. It scores double points and is cheap repairs. Those PvPing off in independent space and faction space will have twice as hard a job keeping up and therefore be disincentivized to continue, but hopefully instead bring their Realta to the Beta Sector to try and keep up on the leaderboards.

Just to echo sentiments on this. Was grinding out the gorn hostile event. All was going well until PvP event put an end to all attempts. Can someone tell me how this in anyway a fair PvP? But should recognise there is a sizable amount of players who want to just do thier events in peace with zero interest in PvP. Still same as with everything else they've released 1 system. Which means staying in triangle is all but impossible for a full run

I killed all the 49 explorers then had to move to battlships and interceptors with my vorcha

Yeap, I save every mat I get for arcs and also try and do every event that pays out mats, so far it has mostly worked since I came back to game end of last year, I failed on Dr T'ana I think it was 🤔

Agreed on the new missions. Not for demarkation event though nearly impossible to get anything done in those systems. Completely unbalanced. Again there is a quiet majority of players just like completing events with zero interest in PvP. Forcing PvP on those players doesn’t increase pack purchases for those players; it just sends em away from game. Know good few on my team who have just put up shields and said they would come back when this PvP event is over.

If the pvp is going to be done once a month, it means that whoever wants to complete the monthly event will have to put in money or they will not be able to complete it, which makes the game a play to win, one hundred percent.

Yeap, I'm not 100% F2P but all the Mats etc I got from battle pass was spent a long time ago, so my point still counts, if you save for arcs and try to complete any event that pays out mats then you can unlock epic officers, only thing that effects it is if scopely change the system.

Start the new arc with a all systems pvp event was just dumb , the new bugs will be probably somehow patched but the feeling this arc give most players is bad seriously bad , it was since years a thing that scopely known we don't like and yet it gets push on us again

I'm seriously considering walking away from the game. Server-wide PVP event has eliminated the viability of any grinding loops. Can't get some of these events finished. This is terrible. I am a player. Been playing for a couple of years and I think the initial XB arc was great at consolodating loops. Think this has been really great addition to that. Plus with Freebooters, XB credits are usually pretty easy to get.

Helpful like a thimble full of water in the desert. Does nothing for lower players being destroyed by players 10+ levels above them while trying to complete events. Does nothing for players in territory defenses who’ll be targeted by non-competitive alliances for PvP event points, or players who spent Transwarp tokens only to be destroyed by whale ambushes.

PvP scoring could be revamped to address huge level discrepancies, systems that should be protected, and other aspects that disillusion the casual players out there. Damage-based scoring that rewards attacking higher levels and discourages attacking lower levels should be considered. Fenced-off systems for PvP is another option. It seems like the scenario designers are completely out of touch with the average player.

Scopely has empowered the server bullies and made the game virtually unplayable for lower level players. Almost impossible to get events and dailies done. Great job, Scopely.

The new mines in territory are a good change. But if you can’t mine due to being destroyed - it is worthless. X- borg increases are very good but again if you can’t kill freebooters due to being destroyed- worthless change. You could have made pvp areas - or reduced the pvp brackets- or created negative scoring for punching down in pvp. Things could have been better.

Be smart, get together with someone in territory space and just throw your realta at one of his ships, and vice versa, that's what people are doing on my server atleast. Sucks cause I actually was looking forward to a PvP event 😦

The problem isn't the PvP across systems it's the lvl brackets, maybe do something about that rather than restrict to specific systems

That’s a start. The incursion events already have rewards in SMS in specific systems (though there are other issues with the ships specifically called out in those events, Monaveen targets do not score, for example). Galaxy-wide is just untenable.

@cosmic steeple if you want constructive feedback, the scoring should be based on equivalent power level to dissuade people from punching down. 100m ships will only get points going after other 100m ships. And if your 100m goes after smaller ships, ie 10m ships, you lose points

Add an exocomp that lasts for an hour and if hit while activated it auto destructs your ship taking out any attacker at least then larger players get the threat of losing speed ups and resources to repair their massive ships like playing Russian roulette when punching down

Problems will be lower level people will stagnate for the arc as they will spend vast swathes of the month being blown up. They will just leave rather than continue to be fish in barrels what's the incentive?

To add on to this they should do it like the borg cutting beam, every level you punch down you get -10% of the points, up to -200% (meaning if you hit someone 20 levels below you, you lose 100% of the points you would've got for a same level hit. And could even add 10% more points per level you punch up.

Exactly.... right now there is nothing to discourage hitting down. Same pts so why not hit someone way smaller. Plus yes... they get loss pts.... but many use that as the excuse too..... lots of "dude, I'm 20 levels below you and just trying to do my dailies.... why hit me?" Met with "meh... you get loss pts"

I think level is the key, more than ship power. Power at a given level points to research and crewing. Yes, you can buy advantages here through prime research, but at least it’s somewhat based on achievements and strategy and it provides sufficient incentive for financial investment without allowing for the overwhelming advantage of huge differences in levels.

Also, PvP events should coincide with Away Team, Unity, or Domination as Battle Pass events. Don’t force the little mice out into the galaxy to complete their BP while the big cats are on the prowl.
