The next Faction Rep level after the 500B lock is 9T. That's a lot of grinding of ships to get the faction. Setting the ship to do that for X amount of time while you do other stuff (or additional killing in another system) can help with that.

There are two different events there. One that you should be able to pull in less then a day if you really want to and one that you "can't be done" without owning the new Ship. If you look at those two events you will realize that the first one is doable without too much hassle if you start like right now, while the other one is "Impossible" to pull without the new Ship so the answer to your question would be "YES & NO".
Back in the days Heroic always meant that there is no chance without paying for something to be able to pull. With growing in your OPs Level you will notice that you will be able to do more and more of those tasks if they don't involve buying something like an new ship or owning some specific new Crew Members to get an Bonus.
Let's look at another Heroic Task, shall we? I have Alliance Members that already finished that Task today because they horded the Materials that were needed to jump OPs.

Depends on your Ops Level. When you are in-between OPs Ranges it's an easy pull but when you are like between Gs i can see a lot of people struggling with finishing that event so it's one of those Events that some will pull without any sweating while folks like me it would break their Neck 🤣

Not sure what you mean. He was pretty much spot on. Any ops 70 can go 71 if they can pass what we should call “the test”. A 5 part mission called Margins. Involves g7 bosses and g7 71s. Can cheat on one, but the last one is real 71s unfortunately.

They only give out enough matrix diodes to buy the month's missions. If you've mispent them, then you can try asking CS for help or buying them from the cash shop. Pattern buffers haven't had any real sourcing. They've occasionally been in the bp, in the past, but I haven't seen it lately. These are essentially p2w only.
