@heady moon Please for the love of all that is holy get them to fix the bookmark/link problem. It is infuriating.
Clicking a link in q Trials takes me to my base, clicking an armada link in alliance chat takes me to random deep space nowhere, clicking my own bookmark for my favorite mining system takes me to the far corner of voyager space.

I mean come on.

Let's fix simple stuff.

@gentle raft I've tried it from every screen. Sometimes it works sometimes it sends me to deep space, sometimes shows me my ship, sometimes my base. No rhyme or reason.

Was doing Trials tonight.
On on trial clicked locate, took me to the waves area. My base is in TC near the middle. So 3 systems away gets me no where near waves systems.
Next Trial, click locate, takes me to system view of my base.
3rd Trial, works just fine, shows me over top of our TC where the trial is, I click to warp, click view and voila, all good.

Depends on a lot of factors - research, officer tier/availability, system, District 56 level, how big the Protector is etc. Personally I use loot crew (e-Pic, 5, Dane) with usual crew below decks for hostiles. Mining I use speed crew (Kras, Klaa and SNW Una with Dane below decks (hit a low level hostile before you go in). There are plenty of other options though, this is just what works for me with what I have.
