You can’t really say “Scopely broke a third party thing that messes with their product and interferes with it’s behaviour” as a thing against Scopely. It’s their thing, and of all the things you can beat on Scopely for, someone else’s stuff causing problems when you choose to install it at your own risk is kinda on you.

Stats help you with attack, defence and health ship stats. None of which are of use in miners unless you’re getting shot and for the most part getting shot involves a far bigger ship than your stats will change the outcome of.

Attack - power, damage, piercing. Defence - mitigation, dodge, armor. Health - shield strength and hull.

swarms, iirc, will drop franklin parts, frank-a later when they're high enough level

also the contents of the pve chests can vary depending on hostile, too

some have better drop rates for some things, like how freebooters usually have better drop rates for speedups, or how faction hostiles above a certain level can start dropping some faction ship blueprints, with which bp's depending on the level of the hostile ( not guaranteed drop, but drop chance )

The packs don't offer enough value for me to generally spend on them. I get the battle pass. I'll occasionally get an officer, prime, or ship that peaks my interest. I've gotten a couple vaults. I spend more than I'd like to admit on this game already. At this point I'm operating almost solely on sunk cost fallacy. I absolutely will spend money on this game when I see a value in doing so, but what little value there is extremely diminished when I am forced to "compete" against players who I literally can not spend enough to get close to in a SLB. And that's not because I lack the funds to do so, it's because I'd literally spend the entire weekend clicking packs and waiting for them to load, clicking more packs, waiting for them to load, and run out of time to spend the mats long before I ever got enough accrued to actually spend...

Play some f2p pc games like apex legends to see the difference of these games and greed of stfc devs. This is a mobile game poorly ported into PC. Every pack costs you 100 bucks for reducing your time. These are something which gives ppl edge over others. So as i said its a pay 2 win game. They affect gameplay process, such things in pvp games are called p2w and not considered free 2 play. You can bypass you skill issues/time spent in the game. eh, no we'd still have the IP, the licence already exists, and the development 'efforts' wouldn't go away, but i'd say more aesthetics and certain ships would be more viable, cos that's basically what STO does and there's no denying the financial viability of STO

also gotta bear in mind that it's essentially a captive market, people play it because they wanna play a star trek game, it's primarily a mobile game, so the only alternative there is really timelines, and timelines still does that 'you can do only so many things a day for free, to do more, you must pay' shtick, which drives players to the option that doesn't do that, which is.. stfc.

it's kinda like how DnD fans who want an mmo basically have the choice of neverwinter, or DnD online, if one isn't right for the player, there only is one alternative within that IP

we don't actually disagree that scopely are greedy, all we're saying is that you CHOOSE to spend or not. you CHOOSE to give in to FOMO or not. you do not have to do these things to play the game.

Anyone else having a problem with the game not allowing them to start any alliance tournament tasks? It says 3/3 but I only completed 2 yesturday and also when I collected my archive chests it did not complete any daily tasks! Normally it completes nearly half of my dailies! @sturdy timber

no one really thinks the 99.99 packs are 'justified' in any way beyond 'the whales keep buying them so scopely won't be lowering prices if that doesn't change'. we can't control what whales do, but we can control what WE do.

heck, doesn't even have to be that high. as an ops 49, anyone ops 53 or above is gonna shred me because they have g5 ships and i don't.
