I would like to point out two more reasons this disco pvp event sucks: 1) Low level (~25) players who have Disco, have had no reason to have a high tier Disco. Mine is T5 with only half of it's parts upgraded. I have zero reason to upgrade it further.
2) Because of the huge level range that high level players can attack, we low level players are being demolished by players who have Prime Officers. I have a lvl34 helping me get points, with only Vemet equipped, no underdeck on a T6 Disco. He kills my ship in ONE hits, with Vemet on my ship, full underdeck, Nero, and Gorkon. This is deliberate setup as bad, as any legit setup I use can't survive (I have t4 kirk, spock, bones).

On that leaderboard event. Giving players -3 points for losing is a bad idea. It kind of limits the fun of a pvp Event. So only the high level players with a maxed Disco will participate. Either do it like milestone and give players 1 point for losing or if you want to make it hard nothing, but don't set them back 3 points if they lose.

Came here to comment on the current events…. Seems like it’s been mostly covered.
Bought the battle pass: two days in a row unable to complete events.
I keep my buildings and research and officers fairly up to date= couldn’t complete yesterday.
I don’t have many away team speed ups, and all my rares will finish after the event timer=can’t finish today.
Then add to that I don’t own a discovery=can’t do the other event today.

The disco pvp event is meh at best, but the alternate method of scoring if you don't have a disco is awful. Those armadas aren't common enough to reliably find, run, and win 8x to complete the milestone. I don't have a disco, so i'm screwed, and I could definitely have uses the rewards.....

Adding the disco to cosmic cleanup is a welcome move, however. I do appreciate that change.

All the unique event ideas are good this month. The big issue is the narrow ability to score in them. Need options to score points that are possible for every player. And make what you really want the player to do score more points. Enough to actually incentivize doing it.

I certainly agree that away missions as battle pass milestones was poor form and have no love for the Disco event, but domination events happen every arc, and normally as battle pass milestones. If you are not keeping at least a handful of either officer or ship advancement in reserve for those, you really should adjust how fast you move everything up right away or you will get that same result every arc.

What I don't like is that we used to have the PvP event with the baby Jellyfish that only cash buyers had. They Scopely put it in an event store for people to spend event currency on, and once everyone bought it, the event has never come back and PvP is with other ships now.

Maybe it’s the points awarded then. I’ve never had an issue until this time. The buildings I was upgrading were only giving like 25k points. Like upgrading my away team building…. Huge expense to upgrading it, and it gave 25k points when over a million points are needed for the event.

I’ll pile on. This BP has been a clear money grab by Scopely. First they run a power SLB for Terran officers, then a domination BP event the very next day. Second they run TC events that offer garbage rewards, but create big diplomatic issues among alliances that’ll have to be smoothed out in the short and long term. Third they run a disco event that seems clearly designed to force people to upgrade their discos, but as others have said in here the rewards very clearly do not match the headaches or spend. Finally they run an away teams BP event that is hard for many players (especially free players) to complete if they haven’t hoarded away teams speed ups. This battle pass is a dumpster fire so far. Scopely needs to fix this or people are gonna start walking.

This is my experience of Turf Wars so far; the biggest alliance, who has 3 of the other top 6 as toadies (based on first language lines) is moving about as they wish knocking small alliances out for a Martok avatar whilst preventing anyone else with territory from doing anything except launch take-faux-vers for points. Meanwhile, alliances without territory just launch their own fakeovers in every tier 1 territory they can for a massive leaderboard score.
All in all, a very balanced and successful event....

TC event is supposed to be pvp. Stronger teams are supposed to steamroll and win. In the end, they’ll still only own a max of 5. But what’s worse is the design of this event allows a weak team with no TC to simply join every 1* TC battle-they don’t send ships or fight-and have earned enough points to win the TC battle event without fighting or winning a single battle. Scopely designed an exploit into the point system so a team with no TC wins. Bad bad design scopely

I think the bigger issue is that it's forcing conflict between alliances that are largely at peace / good with each other, our server in particular has one alliance who basically attacked allies purely for points, displacing everyone from their territories and benefits for a week just cuz. They'd win the territory, then drop it immediately afterwards.

right, we put up a huge fight and almost held them off - but their entire alliance is comprised of big spenders, and are all in the high 30s mid 40s and our only reprise is sheer numbers. We did well, but as I said, they were dropping territories specifically for points and it wasn't even about holding or denying the 'ones they want'. This territory event directly favoured the paying players and has made it very much hell for the rest. That's where strife is coming from for most people. On paper it makes sense, but in practise it's brutal.

All game element directly favor paying players that’s how almost every “f2p” game works. I’m ok with that as a mostly f2p player. The fact you almost held them off means that TC pvp is designed pretty fairly. They had power, you had numbers. Had your team done a bit better, you’d have beat the money team-the fact that this IS possible is a credit to the basic design of the game element.

truthfully we likely would have won if a second alliance hadn't joined to interfere as well - and I think that's also part of the problem, its an uphill battle when its more than 1v1 for territory. What would be great is if something like this had modifiers where only one alliance could join at a time - first to the gate basically, then it makes it a bit easier to contend with, but that'll never happen 😆

But looping back to it all, I think there's definite abuse of the drop-territory-then-rejoin-for-added-points portion of these events, so thre should be some kind of time-based cooldown from dropping a territory than rejoining it for points.

If you willfully drop a territory, you can't go for it for 7 days or something, that'd def change the dynamics of this.

Yes 1on1 is rare. I’d prefer that when a TC is up for grabs, that only teams that join the battle are allowed in. In this way, an allied team can’t bring too many players or risk winning the battle rather than just helping the original team win. Or at least only let teams into the battle who have a direct warp path (but that leads to strong players dropping tags, forming a temp alliance just to join the tc ). It’s tough to design out every exploit

Scopely supposedly changed this iteration of the event so teams couldn’t drop & retake it for max points. Seemingly the idea was to redraw teams TC holdings to maximize TC play. To do this they used “owned” & “new” language. But they didn’t code that mechanic into the event. To convert a TC from owned to new all you had to do was drop the tc before joining it. So the event mechanic was exactly the same as the previous arc’s

The Turf Wars design is very curious. It allows you to win only by your head, if you know your environment well.
All the whining above comes down either to the fact, that there is a stronger alliance, or we did nothing, but we were passed on points.
Not dropping territory is the alliance's choice. The design of the event has absolutely nothing to do with it.

On our server, there were no territory changes. The first, second, and third place alliances were those with no territory who just joined every 1* and never showed up to fight. 4th place was a large alliance with 5 territory systems who dropped 1 of their systems to join other connected territory attempts(but did not actually attempt them) then retook their 5th territory when the event was almost over. 5th place was my alliance, who did the same as 4th. 5 territories and dropped one to participate in connected TCs. There was no additional PVP and if that was the goal it didnt work.

Ultimately TC is not a popular game mechanic, like Armadas scopely instead of making it better for example by increasing the time between TO events so you don't need to be a full time planner to play, or by fixing the Lag by only allowing participating alliances to take part (we get steamrollered by a 5 or 6 alliance coalition stopping you from even entering due to lag) they PUSH the garbage on us, trying to polish a turd is still a turd.

yes, territorial events are not very popular. they require a lot of assumptions and a lot of emergency moves. they are very difficult to plan and even more difficult to implement, when the alliance has to rely on all the players.

And I'm not sure how an event that involved joining a takeover attempt in the last 5 minutes and not showing up is more interesting than flying somewhere and killing 15 klingons 😂

Well PvP in this game is rather moot since usually it involves either winning to someone with a lower power ship, or dying to someone with a ship power 4x yours. They need to rebalance PvP, make rounds slower and make it possible to reinforce a battle within a set timescale for example hold an aggressor until backup can arrive. Id love to be able to mount a serious challenge someone with a level 50 ship but in the end they'll sit there all-day tanking 4m G3 epics until the cows come home. At the moment the animation plays for 4s and you die. Its hardly a real time game, nor is it turn based as you can't run away while the 4s animation is running..

I am more concerned with the basic paradox that lies in the mechanics of the game. they are trying to convince us to play pvp. only there is no point at all in war - you cannot remove a player or an alliance from the server. therefore, there is no point in war either. any war will end in peace. there is a small chance of forcing the player to leave the game, but this is more fantasy.
therefore, in general, the game turns into a digger, pvp just for fun

The changes to the away team event are not an improvement. it just isn't suitable to be a bp event. Basically either you wait for the away mission to finish or you pay for away team boosts. might as well call it a waiting or spending event and let me buy something useful from the store instead. to make things worse the 2nd klingon event simultaneous to the bp one also requires away missions. i don't think this is what ppl had in mind when they asked for a variety of bp events. Please do better...

You've got problems with armadas not showing up as taken, and then suddenly, after starting it, showing with another alliance with a free minutes less to go. Not good.

Something is not right. I pull 2 rare armada chest and get these treasures. Costs 10k rare credits. I pull 1 G4 rare armada chest and get these paltry things. Costs 100k rare credits. What a ripoff by Scopely. No more G4 chests.. Scopely should return my 100k rare credits for the 1 Lorca shard, 10 epic armada directives, 2000 Fed credits, and 20 rare armada tactical cores. There is no parity or fairness between the two types of rare chests.

The whole armada directives thing seems to be broken. The g4 rewards are terrible. The ability to get directives is effectively gated to pay to win. The armada events encourage soloing armadas to max points.

Rite's Unification is a way too long to be accomplished as one that is mid/low level cannot deal with 2m bosses and have to destroy (elite) 715 ships! Please consider add option of making armada, damage to which would be counted for the event scoring

A member joined my alliance the first day of the turf war event and got no rewards at the completion of the event. He participated throughout the entire event and got nothing, yet the members who sat out got everything. You need to fix how these pay out

I attacked the bosses, expecting full well to die, but I did manage to get 1-2M points from just the damage done. Surprise surprise everyone who received the one to kill romulans (work for klingons) will get a handful of extra klingon credits whereas half the server will get romulan credits.. this is an inherent unfair start to a event. Seriously think your events through and how they play off one another.

You can say that 3x chance is to low. But speaking from a statistical point of view you will get more non 5/11 shards than 5/11 shards. That is expected.

I am confused. It is a day long event. Your screen shot shows 4 - 8 hour and a 12 hour Away Team Assignment. At 200 points a shot, that's 1000 points assuming they aren't failures. On top of that, you should be able to cycle a couple of them at least when they complete with another 8 or 12 hour, and you have at least one or more assignments above those off the screen. What you show is easy completion.

In addition, you should have had some already running (heck it's free stuff). If you didn't, that's on you, not scopely.

Do the rewards suddenly get so good that rushing these events every day is really worth completely depleting your stockpiles when we know scopley does stuff like this? If you do even 1 basic 4 hour mission with throwaway crew high enough to pass it, you get away team speedups every day. I know I get 4 hours of them, not sure if more or less with leveling. Even with OK leftover crew I find I can run many of these a day at 100%+ without any impact to my other ships crews. This event is feels awkwardly placed. It's generally quite doable without spending speedups, if a person has been keeping up on sending some ATs when possible. But, it feels super awkward as a one day battlepass event. AT assignments take time to complete but BP events are typically pretty quick to finish. This AT event for BP points isn't bad in and of itself, but it's honestly a bad fit for a BP points event.

This event is really not fun at all. It takes too long to find an active beta system to fight in and really encourages the "buddy up and get it done strategy". The fact that it takes a discovery is also pointless, we have a weekly event to use the discovery we don't more excuse to pull it out.

Please move the systems requirement to the Tola systems, they are much easier to access and will make it much easier to complete the event. Also please change the required ship. Maybe increase the point requirement but encourage using smaller ships like the g2-3 common ships. Let us brawl for a bit, if the ships were using are cheap the rewards can be left about the same

The lag in the TC systems huts this event. If you combine the lag with combat occurring in the systems which a players alliance doesn’t hold then you have to fly blindly into a system (because you can’t pre-view the system), quickly enter the view mode for that system once your ship is in the system (lag impacts how quickly you can switch to view system after your ship enters) so that if you’re lucky you can navigate within the system before you die.

Those in the system and are high enough level to survive a min or two or those who hold the system where combat is occurring have an advantage because all they have to do is sit on the edge of the system where the ships tend to enter and attack them as soon as they appear. For those who don’t have that advantage you may as well just send your ship to the system 30 times to kamikaze die because you have little or no chance of actually fighting a PVP battle.

The change in rewards to the swarm event, is no longer consistent with the effort required to complete it. The point requirement should have been reduced if the reward was going to be reduced/changed so radically. Definitely a subpar fix to an already subpar event. Does not bode well for new year.

Bit of a different Feedback but Armada events. Scopely, I love that you made armada respawn times so much faster but here's the thing. When you run Armada events the timers are still TOO SLOW nothing worse in an armada event than knowing I am going to need to stay up until like 3am to get armadas to finish the event.

Today we ran into an issue with our NYE Swarm event that unfortunately was not discovered until a few minutes after it was launched. The issue has since been resolved and the NYE Swarm event will still score in the NYE Meta event as intended. The event is now back up.

The ISSUE was big rewards and the so called ‘scoring toward the meta event’ so who finished all the steps in those 5 minutes it was up so that it was reported to scopely? Got to love the open and honest explanations

I don’t even see the swarm event - it never came back. How do I know I’m scoring towards it? I did the calculation BTW in the two minutes I did see it - with my Franklin, I have to hit 210 L24 swarms. That’s going to take me dozens of repair cycles… but as I can’t see the event I don’t know whether going for stronger is worth it. Scopely, you’ve really messed this one up - better make it up to us all.

CoW is broken. How is an Alliance of 1 able to outperform an Alliance of 24? The ALB doesn't scale properly at all. It's even worse in the AMS. It's impossible for 24 players, who are mostly below level 28, to complete the AMS.

This event is capable of being completed fairly easily with the free directives they give out.... First there are at least 2 cube directives you should have gotten from yesterdays event... Starting those @4 points apice and winning them for 10 points each will give you a total of 28 points. Then there are the free 10 megacube directives you can use, its 50 points for spending the papers and another 120 for a win. this is another 170 points total... Thats 198 points total for free... that leaves only 2 points to finish

your logic has several faults:

1. most people don't have 10 MC directives. in order to save them one could get them in the event store for 3750 event currency apiece to maybe finish the event in a later iteration. only that you maybe get 3 to 5 out of it, without being able to complete the armada milestone event.
2. this megacube with 100 mio strength is way (!) above what most people could conquer. if you fly your maxed out enterprise and some shiny little tribunes, yeah maybe. but without those, it's completely unrealistic to bring this thing down.
3. as far as i counted, it is the 2nd iteration of a 3 day borg event out of any arc. nobody knew this would ever come, nobody could know it's useful to spend currency on directives the last time.

So please, before giving general advice, telling everybody how easy this event is to complete and neglecting most other peoples feedback, you - maybe, just maybe - should question your privileged situation, because obviously you're strong enough to kill the MC, whereas most of us others aren't.

First, i am free to play, I had previously earned from other events... i walk into this one with the 10 megacube directives from last time. to earn 10 more papers for next time i only have to start the armada. I dont have to win to be prepared for next time. I have done this 3 times in a row now and you can do it yourself or you can not do it, youre choice on if you want to take my advice and give yourself a helping hand on the next event.
Second is the target themselves, you should be able to finish them with nothing more than a group of max tier vidars filled with the correct crews. you DONT need to use an ent or any other faction ship, they dont tend to be as good against the megacubes.
And third it had been announced that the 3 day borg event would return before, its not our fault if you were not informed like others. Like i said before i KNEW it would return, thats why i saved megacube directives for months to spend today. And now YOU know the event will return again and you can prepare for the next time.

There is no point in planning for the next run. It takes event loot to get the armada directives, and not a negligible amount. "Planning" for the next run by spending the loot I got this run is just poor design, combine with the event store being sub par, at best, and as ftp you are better off taking Borg events as a vacation.

The MC directives, if purchased today, can finish your SMS with the rewards being used for next time and so on. That'll also give your alliance a boost in scoring and maybe finish better then than this time. You could do nothing and get nothing if you want, but the option to progress yourself and your alliance's future is there as well.

The mc directives cost event loot, even if you get more back than what you have to spend to get them, it's still not worth it because the options in the event store are not that great. That doesn't even take into account that everything in the Borg event store is overpriced beyond belief.
Borg events are not worth ftp players time, the event store is sub par and the grind to get anything is more than two event cycles for an event we might get 2-3 times a year. Meaning that the reality of "saving for next time" is over a year of grinding to get a single item in an overpriced sub par event store.

lvl 34, first server on a newer server. I feel like this event is a lot more helpful and better for newer players and have heard positive feedback. The ability to get meridian, vidar, and other such parts will really help them branch out into the different sections of the game. Combined with the amount of Taldondarsek credits earnable through the events, players are eager to complete some items they've been grinding away on. I'm not sure how it is for the higher lvls and older servers, but ours seems to like it

It's a good event with lots of ways to keep people interested. But please allow us to make an independent choice for the Faction events. It feels like an offense taking away the option to choose in our own preference. So would it be too much to ask to give us tokens for the other Faction too? Or a way to trade them in for the other Faction.

going back to some past mission reqs, 32 was the level to get keys and buy options. I'd recommend leveling and seeing if that does it for you

Please do not program grind events with this cap in place. it's very easy to hit your hostile cap in roughly a couple of hours with 4-5 ships going. it's happening everywhere, and it sucks.

Ticketed events: you need to fix the rewards for these. Some of us paid money for tickets based on their historical value and gutting them is not okay. Throwing in the equivalent of 2 measly epic shards does not offset millions of resources and materials.

I don't understand what the stubborn position of the developers is... why can't the players themselves choose which faction they play for?
logic, that the random distribution puts everyone in a common framework, is incorrect. the player can get a token of the faction that he really needs. and the second will then be forced to catch up with the lost reputation.

I want to address the issue with the "maximum number of hostiles" concerning events like this one. While I think this is probably one of the few if not the only truly fair event in this game, you clearly didn't think it through. You changed the game mechanics so we can only kill a certain amount of hostiles a day but at the same time you create an event that clearly wants us to kill WAY MORE hostiles than usual. I dont know why the limit has been added and I thought this concerns loot boxes only. Today I realized it concerns all gains. No more XP, no more loot boxes, no cargo whatsoever. Why is that a problem? because after spending a stupid amount of time to win this event, I cannot finish any of my usual grindings. I dont gain nanoprobes, I dont get XP to level ships for the scrapyard, I can't get shipparts for the refinery and so on.
That's a major downer on the game experience.

It's because of bots, "Scopely's reason". But honestly it's not, it's just to artificially slow the process of gains therefore making that cash shop look oh so more tasty. It’s really getting annoying now just how badly Scopely has nerfed payouts for most of the Events so far, especially the Ticket Events. Yeah we’re getting Event loot for the Store and some Officer shards. But that’s not nearly enough to compensate for what they’ve taken away, imo. Who’s gonna spend most of their loot on refined mats? Prices in the Store are a ripoff anyway and that would pretty much defeat the purpose of the Event Store if we needed to buy mats. And the nerfing of rss payouts is even more inexplicable. They just introduced a new (overpriced) ship to make raiding relevant again, but now they’ve decided to turn off the spigot of rss into each server’s economy? Huh?! Scopely swapped the days for the Ba’el recruit event, then removed the Borg probe killing event for day 3 (today’s upcoming event) and replaced it with an armada event on a day 2 of a 48 hr SLB event when most people have spent their directives.
