Just tried the academy 2 ship wave and two runs to the level 61 system. The wave defense was only one wave, ridiculous as the lone drop did not do much, one level to the academy. Poor return on effort and repair cost. Then the system was ridiculous too, can only take out level 61 drones with my maxed G5 Epic and hit a 62 by mistake and insta-poof. Then the drops from the drones was way too low to be worth the time and repairs. Overall this arc’s “new” features should be described as new disappointments.

Our mid ops players have been having a decent time with their events so far except this one. Its probably doable if you're early, early ops, but upgrading ops 3 times to get some trit/crystal and 10 pulls of the Specialist Cadre (i.e. 2 or 3 new officers and lots of transporter patterns), is a herculean task for most. Way more than a heroic effort, with a very low payout.

Making the 1000 pt actions 5000 pts, and making each tier a factor of 5, maxing at 25k or 30k, would have been much more palatable.

The pull really needs to be based on building level, and not ops level. There is no way to ever increase the building in the current state (for the new building)

Tieing new turn ins for a new building to Ops instead of building level is bad. You need a higher building level to farm for turn ins to increase the building level. All prior buildings drips were based on the building level, not player ops level

Used to be 4 armadas at 100 pts per. Now it scales based on lvl and people need to stretch to hope they can do 10 to finish this. We are maxed at 7 starts and get 1 pull a day more. It’s a 2-day event.

Lol... stretch to do 10?! I am a level 64 and my best ships are 1 maxed G5 Epic, and 2 T 6-7 G6 uncommons. Killing the level 60's (best I can do), I get about 5 per hull. Not only that, since those are worth a whopping 233 points, and I need 6100, I would have to kill 27 of them. A bit difficult since we can only have 700 directives before we are capped. On the other hand, they did mark it as Heroic, so I guess that means I would have to buy the extra directives so that tracks.

I'm sure by now you have noticed a big plunge in revenue. That's because management at Scopely that's overseeing STFC is killing off your revenue stream of paying customers. There's major issues going on and instead of fixing the game to make it once again worth playing. They seem to be doing everything but fix the game. Which is causing long time paying gamers to either stop spending money or quit the game altogether. Take this months Battle Pass or ARC as it's also called. By far the worst roll out in the past 5 years and I've seen a few stinkers over the years. However they seemed to have worked overtime to make this one the worst one yet. I have cut back on my spending and frankly. I should get a refund of all the money spent on this game since the first of the year. The Scopely Overlords promised to fix game play but they seem to have managed to make things worse. So how bad is it you may ask. Well it's so bad that the Scopely Overlords are bribing players to reach out and talk past players to come back to the game. They left because of all of the issues and they think bribing us is going to help get them back. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone in it's current state of disrepair. Why would I lie to past players and try to con them back for the pitiful offering they have presented. I highly suggest that you take the time to thoroughly investigate what's going on before even more players quit the game. Perhaps if you spent some time on this discord channel and read from the players themselves. You will get a far better idea as to what's happening.
We like new content but the problem is the content to the game in the past eight months to a year is having issues and game play overall just plain sucks.

This event is impossible to complete in the timescale given the limit on how many directives you can hold. Are we expected to buy them to complete it?

It is doable if you know it's coming. Hold max directives and leave the claim available for when event starts. Then you can claim the remainder on cooldown and finish it.

That also assumes that you have the maximum of 7 policies at that time

You start with 700 guidelines. Playing an Armada gives you 8 more. With a cooldown of less than 24 hours, you get 2 more guidelines.

If you only ever make small armadas that don't yield anything, it's pointless anyway. I managed level 67 at level 69. At least four in a single posse. I can now manage level 69 at level 70, and I've already used up all 700 guideline points.

I just decided to push from 63 to 70 6 weeks ago and now instead of 2 month it will be double if not more just to go from 68 to 70. I've been pulling crystals nonestop since i went to g6 and only pulled ore or gas a few times for alliance tournament 10k tasks. Notice how BOLDLY GO EVENTS events used to be a 7 day event where you needed to complete different tasks to get tokens for which than you can use to exchange it for ore gas crystal. Now none of that anymore. Another win for scopely!

Normally I would just ignore the event as I have the officer and the ship maxed, but I need the points for completing the Ahead of the Curve meta event. Well, not everyone has the officers maxed and not everything is about you but the community as a whole. I for one still need 3 of the ones available and the Voyager event does payout 6* mats which I still need, But grinding hostiles I can't use the loot from is still a problem.

at ops 71 without a Vengeance, the whole Academy loop is DOA. Can’t grind enough g6 loot to exchange for the g7 required because the hostiles are way too hard and the ones I can kill drop way too little loot

I can’t upgrade the building to make the grind possible bc I can’t refine the currency needed

Even if I wanted to grind grind grind grind to get there, you’ve prevented that by requiring warp tokens that are replenished at a trickle

so all I can do is ignore the whole Academy loop. By the time I can get anywhere with it, you’ll be 4-5 loops on ahead and will the Acadrmy loop even matter anymore at that point?

1. These schematics of mid ops events come from the BP and some events. But I dont see a single one of schematic thingymajings any where right now (neither in BP nor in events)...Its only in the 100$ BP unlock pack.
2. The previous mid ops BP used to have the independent credits and officer upgrade badges. And now they are missing both in the new BP and in the daily login stuff. So how do you expect mid ops players to upgrade their officers?

Any solution is welcome other than spending money..
PS: I know the badges can be sourced from apex store and discovery tokens but the payout is low and the cooldown is too long

Brokered alliances SLB seems to be the poorest thought out event that I can recall in 8 years of playing the game. For G6 the only thing that scores is syndicate xp. Perhaps three people have bought syndicate xp, which I get as being motivation of scopely. The remaining high scores are based upon when individuals collected their syndicate XP. For an event that feeds into a meta SLB that's pretty careless: on my server if I don't collect in a timely manner I score fourth place or higher. If I do collect in a timely manner I don't place in the top 50

I've never seen more people leaving the game in my alliance than during this current 💩 show. We had two leave the first day, and one or two after, and several more wondering if they will continue the game, as it's no longer fun.

The bugs alone make it not fun, but added to that one plus hours just to open chests, endless new loops, hours long grinding events, yet another refinery, and taking away things that players actually liked, these are the perfect conditions to get even the most faithful of players to quit the game.

As someone who was just able to earn my vengeance ftp before they made it way, way harder to get the bp's, I'd say I'm sorry... but honestly, tiering the thing up to any useful level is just as bad now too. So yeah, it'll be xmas before you can unlock the thing... but at this rate it'll also be the following xmas before you can get it to a level it actually helps you in anything.

When it launched, the Vengeance was a $-only product that would take a very long time to earn ftp or progress in any meaningful way. It was a 9-year timetable to max it ftp lol. Then 6 or so months later they put in the mechanics that would speed up acquisition and leveling somewhat. Fairly normal progression for content that is $-only at release. Then the last two months they've gutted the speed up progression mechanic they introduced, along with a ton of other player value. Its hard to understand why, given how many players its driving away, but I guess a bean counter or big wig thinks it'll spur more frustration spending. Its up to all of you to decide where you land in their plans.

the Academy arc is dead for me at ops 71 because the refinery requirements are mathematically unrealistic:

• can’t grind g7 academy hostiles
• can grind mid-g6 hostiles but
• grinding runs are gated by limited warp tokens, which blocks players from even doing sacrifice runs through multiple hulls of heavy grinding to accumulate enough g6 Training Merits
• therefore it’s mathematically unrealistic to grind enough g6 Training Merits to accumulate the 216k needed to exchange for g7 Training Merits
• which means I can’t refine anything in the academy refinery
• so I can’t upgrade the building to improve the academy grind

This loop is DOA for me (and I suspect for most ops 71 players). I’m not interested in paying hundreds of dollars just to be able to participate in a single loop. Nor am I interested in weeks of grinding just to do a single Training Merits exchange — this is a game, it’s supposed to be fun

ops 71 is a very broad level with steep barriers to upgrading ships, upgrading buildings (including R&D), unlocking and upgrading researches, with the result being players with ship powers ranging across an order of magnitude

you’ve tuned the Academy arc for players at the high end of 71, assuming everyone ops 71 has maxed epics and a high tier vengeance — which is fine, except you left the rest of us outside the wall with no realistic means to climb it.
Heck, g6 players can refine g6 directly, upgrade their buildings, etc. such that when they go to 71 they won’t have to face this g6-g7 conversion hurdle with none of the new buffs

If the pay-to-play arcs is how’s it’s gonna be going forward, I don’t see a reason to continue playing

Gotta say, as a decently powered Ops 67 with the new building at level 28, the idea that this arc is in any way doable at my Ops level is honestly laughable. Loving the "scanning" and "preparing" delays, and the spinning circles when going through events really help with not doing things quickly.

• In DUO WAVES, it is quite difficult to read the hostile types in system view because of how they are bunched and how the tags display. mouse-over or Scan during waves is not practicable because the game response is simply way too slow for it to actually work in real time. A player really SHOULD be able to look and see what they are fighting in a tokenized event without having to rely on looking it up on an external site for a chart, or going through the event multiple times simply to document what should be easily seen.

For f2p, all they actually did was replace the old refresh tokens with a 15:1 exchange, and add like 2 officers, 1 artifact and some of those dolamide particles everyone has maxed by now.

I did the math. And taking the node infected venge skin as a metric, you get a whopping $20 equivalent worth(compared to just buying the pack for it) by completing a $200 "mythic task". And that is without considering the other things you get in the pack if you were to buy the skin outright. Oh and it would take 5 tournaments to unlock the skin.

Currently have 1.3m refresh currency left from the last one..
I've just burnt through all 800 (8 refreshes) that has been given for the new setup.

Tournament has been live for a few hours and the top spending teams are rinsing it. There's no point in F2P players even trying to compete. 20k tasks are 100% pay to complete, 10k tasks are heavily geared towards pay to win.
Number of "heroic" tasks has gone theough the roof, trying to get people to pay.
New battlepass, pay to get the same amount of broken desealing rods as you used to get for free.
Players are leaving in droves, because you're pushing to pay to play. So what do you do? Introduce even more paid rubbish....

I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction and the collective outrage of the community regarding the recent overhaul of the Alliance Tournament. While updates are necessary for game longevity, the current changes feel like a direct assault on player agency and long-term investment.

1. The Re-roll Token Devaluation and Task Scarcity
   The decision to remove existing re-roll tokens in favor of a new currency capped at 4,000, with a meager 800 daily drip, is unacceptable. Many of us spent months accumulating hundreds of thousands of tokens. Forcing a 15:1 conversion rate effectively wipes out our accumulated work and hard-earned resources.

Furthermore, many high-level players who had saved hundreds of thousands of re-rolls did so specifically to help fellow alliance mates find the right tasks for them to complete. This collaborative element has been destroyed. The volume of 10k tasks now far outweighs the 8 daily rerolls provided; a player can use their entire daily allowance and still never see a task that is doable for free-to-play participants. This creates a scenario where the game leans heavily on monetization just for the chance to find a playable task, which is predatory and frustrating for the community.

2. Removal of Choice Reward Tokens
   By removing Choice Reward Tokens from the Battle Pass, you have effectively killed the viability of some popular 10k tasks. These tasks were a staple for many players because they were accessible through consistent play. Removing the materials needed to complete them makes these tasks "dead on arrival" for anyone not willing or able to spend immediately, fundamentally breaking the gameplay loop.

3. Predatory Task Scaling
   The introduction of new 10k and 20k tasks that require expenditures ranging from $100 to $400 is a bridge too far. High-tier rewards should be a balance of skill, coordination, and investment. Currently, the tournament has been stripped of the "skill and coordination" aspect, leaving only a paywall.

4. Exclusive Rewards and Competitive Imbalance
   Adding new legendary credits to the store is a positive step in theory, but tying them exclusively to $400 tasks or top-tier placement creates a "rich get richer" cycle. With the current monetization model, fewer players are willing to spend, making high placement nearly impossible for the average alliance. You are squeezing a shrinking player base instead of providing value that encourages growth.

In Conclusion
This overhaul is widely being cited across Discord servers and in-game chats as the most detrimental update in the game's history. It disregards the time and resources players have invested and replaces engagement with mandatory monetization.

We strongly urge the team to:

Re-evaluate the 15:1 conversion rate.

Remove or significantly increase the 4k cap on re-rolls to allow players to actually find doable tasks.

Reintroduce Choice Reward Tokens to keep high-tier tasks accessible to active players.

The community thrives when players feel their time is respected. Currently, it is not.

Before this overhaul, a major point of contention was the lack of a minimum participation requirement. Players who do not contribute are still receiving the same rewards as those who do, simply based on the alliance's final placement. If this is intended to be an Alliance participation event, it should follow the model seen in Crucible of War or the War Room, where rewards are contingent on individual contribution.

​Furthermore, because of this overhaul, it appears participation will be at a bare minimum moving forward. Formerly active players no longer have the interest in this tournament they once did. It is demoralizing for active participants to carry the weight for those who do not contribute, especially when the gameplay loop itself has become so restrictive.

Alliance Tournament: worst…game…change…ever. This event used to be enjoyable and the whole alliance engaged. My entire alliance decided with these changes that we are all boycotting the event. We’ve been consistently top ranked, now none of use care, it’s just not playable anymore even for the spenders. Good way to kill the game.

yes you can convert you old rerolls by don't bother used 3000 so far and guess what, same frigging tasks every time. useless and all of these tasks unachievable unless you spend and haven't seen one over 2k that i can do, where as before could do 3 x 10k ones by saving stuff. they dont give 2 hoots about anyone looking at this so stick this game where the sun don't shine dopley

I think in isolation this is just another eye roll at scopely but after depot, incursion, Leslie, BP changes, G5 scraping,harder to get treasury etc in such a short time it's just disgusting greed on show and the anger in my alliance is high right now

Make task doable and achievable for EVERYONE. task should look like , pvp, hostile kills, or just somewhat like regular dailies but bit challenging depending on the points. my feedback probably won't be heard but you will lose spenders if game is in this state.

also AT store has been changed, some items that were in expert league have now been changed to master and then there are new coloured tokens (green showing zero stock) as well as the normal blue ones, the rep need the new colour when last time it was the blue tokens. stuff AT stick it up your jaxie.. Oh yea and all quiet as per usual on the response side from dopley

For the new alliance tourney; I like that new stuff is in the store. I dislike that there are now 2 currencies. I dislike the reroll exchange and the re rolls being reduced from 12 to 8. Meaning I can’t get rid of the crummy tasks to get a good one. The 10k mats tasks were great- but now are paywalled with the loss of the tokens

Scopely’s recent foibles: Ends CoTA just to end classic spend events to implement RNG leaderboards. Ends Officer depot store to implement RNG with 7 y/o officers. Ends cosmic choice to greatly strip away FTP path in battle pass offering $50 alternative. Ruins Alliance Tournaments. Did I miss something?
