Feedback on the 010 event.
It's an interesting idea to have it as pre-booked slots but the problem is, when I had a few hours to play, there were no slots. It appears it's not possible to join a slot in progress. I was therefore denied participation because of the lack of flexibility with the new system. If you want people to join and enjoy these events, you need to be sure they can join when they're able to play. Making slots that have already started as joinable would avoid this debacle.

Scaling individual members AMS milestones to ops level and then preventing lower level members from contributing to the AMS once their final milestone is completed is seriously messed up. I hope this has been passed on the the devs. No AMS should ever be run like this again.

So how is Preventing Escalation AMS an Alliance event when each player has a different bracket based on their OPS lvl versus a single goal for the Alliance and then on top of that once they complete the event their score no longer contributes to the higher Alliance Members scoring. This is completely wrong and ridiculous. Please fix.

I liked the arc mission approach that we had before better. Releasing most missions on day one, enabled us to manage our time. Now it is one more item of the very long boring to do list - checking whether there is a new mission.

It’s a bit higher, ops 44 last month you got 18 shards for 4.94m this month it’s 20 for 6.16m. And the doc was 110 shards while Janeway is 120, so effectively milestones have gone up about 20%

Ok Heroic is 1 thing but come on , who just happens to have the directives to launch 42 rare armadas or 23 epics sitting around ready to pop? Galactic Armada pack only gives 6 Rares and 3 Epics, and its a 1 and done, buying either of the other armada packs you're still talking about having to buy at least 6 packs minimum if you buy rares. Thats not a Heroic milestone thats a swipe milestone, and a $700 one at that. And Scopely gets confused about Armada Directive sourcing being the biggest complaint from the community? Please communicate to scopely to just drop the missions in the holodeck at once like they use to. This waiting around, checking the holodeck everyday is annoying. And now I have a problem which my queen's gambit part 2 is not in my holodeck after completing part 1. I put a ticket in but have gotten no response yet.

So, the AMS in the storyline events stop counting points for players that already finished it, because for some reason even though it's an AMS, it has different milestones depending on ops.
So it becomes an SMS where I need to kill 2000 hirogens in one day. Absolutely great design there. Congratz.

a level tiered AMS is a weird choice... it appears points from alliance members stop being shared properly to higher level players once the lower level players hit their final milestone.
is this supposed to happen?

many alliance members have their final 20k milestone done, and it appears them hunting hirogen now only gives 1 point per kill to us with 30k/38k milestones.
this would make hitting the later milestone much harder for higher level alliance members, because they have to do it all on their own instead of relying on alliance participation.

It's just tiring to have so many occurrences where being higher level just means a worse game. Literally everything scales the difficulty way more than it scales your ability to do something. And I'm only ops 38. Can only imagine how bad it is at G5.
Considering ex-borg is the last thing that seems to actually improve your life in any way in this game, it's becoming harder to find a reason to level beyond that lol
This AMS shows that quite well. Why are scores needed for higher Ops players higher when the points are the same - 1 per hostile, 3 per lost, 4 per probe, 5 per hirogen? Why are higher ops simply expected to kill more hostiles? It makes sense when the points you get are also scaled by level, but this is nonsense.

My apologies for not having luck with a search, but these kinds of issues being acknowledged should be easily accessible to all. People who are mad can’t find the necessary info, and those of us in leadership trying to help them are sometimes just as easily frustrated. If Eco can make announcements for even more minor event issues, specific servers, and other inane info- then things of this nature should be able to be addressed in a similar fashion.

Dear Scopely - the limiting factor to who wins an Armada directive slb shouldn't be the player luckiest enough to have enough armadas spawn when they are looking at that particular system.

The Preventing Escalation event is a bit unfair. When lower players reach their milestones, they're not helping anymore. So if there's a single higher level player in the alliance, he has to grind his last milestone by himself. This can come to 1800 hidrogen kills for one person. That's just sick.

The AMS scoring system makes no sense. Why in an AMS do different ops lvls have different milestones when scoring is the same for all ops levels? Why in an Alliance event do people stop scoring when they reach their last milestone?

I'm sure this has been said before about this mission, but.. the way the Queens Gambit mission was deployed (trickle feeding us the parts) made it somewhat harder to follow and be engaged in...

I lost a lot of what the mission was supposed to be about by allowing me not "marathon" through all the mission parts (up to this point)

I have alliance members at 12pts and im sitting at 8pts. how does that make any sense? ive done every event possible. also the AMS that ended today needs to be fixed and compensated for. Having to go every day to see if there is a new mission in the holodeck is annoying to say the least. Should just have the mission chain on completing the previous step insteaf of having to claim it.

The preventative escalation AMS scoring model is an incentive to NOT particpate. It rewards alliance members for putting off doing the event, and punishes players who start grinding on it early. I'm the biggest player in my alliance, and took a look at the individual alliance members scores to come to that conclusion.

If you start grinding early, you will accelerate completing the event for lower alliance members. As the event completes for increasingly higher members of an alliance, it reduces the pool of players who can help complete. For myself, out of 72 players, just 4 of us had to grind out almost 4k points to complete it. The optimal strategy if you are a higher player in the alliance to reduce personal grind time is to hope lower level players do as much work before you start. The worst thing you can do is to participate early and reduce the pool of players who can contribute before those players can contribute.

If you are a mid to low level player in the alliance, the best plan is to do nothing and let the rest of the alliance carry and finish the event for you.

The biggest issue that I personally have with these PVP events is that you continue to make us ALL forcefully participate. To me, it needs to be made such that the people who want to can go somewhere and do that. Don't force the rest of us to be involved. A lot of us fit are dailies in during scattered periods of the day as time allows. When you do these events, I personally have to shield up for 24 hours and not play at all. Suggestions: #1 - For these events make miners not legal targets. #2 - For incursions, make it so that you don't need to move your base to a level 19 or below system. Make some sort of opt-in process that makes your shield not work if you're in a level 19 or greater system. If you don't opt it, you can't participate in the incursion and your shield works normally without having to move your base.

Didn't even catch the 010 event was happening again until I logged on after a lunch walk to 3 dead miners and totally empty systems. I participated last time because my server tried to establish a pvp system, but it turned into a whale murder-fest. Not even bothering this time. I really want to like pvp, but this isn't it. My miners are being nuked by lower players because that's all they can hit; if I bring the big ships out, I'll just be harassed by players who can hit me with a ship literally 10x the strength. The brackets and exponential power growth just don't make for a good experience in events like this.

I always kind of liked the single-ship pvp because it levels the playing field some for users. Even lower players could probably take me out in those, because I didn't buy my way into the best pvp officers. I get you're trying to do something different and the timed event starts is kind of 'nice' for those with varying schedules, but how it's played out is just a poor experience for the majority of users who just want to be left alone.

The milestone is just to high to finish. I been hitting 2 abandoned bases for 90 min without any pause. So to finish this you need at least 3 bases next to each other, 90 min commitment without pause. Scopely call’s this a pvp event, there is no way you can finish this in normal pvp considering the travel and repair time.

I hit 1.44m with two bases - that included 2 minutes shield, and restarting the app because of lag after 30 seconds or so because my ships were just looping on attempting to attack their bases. It is possible to complete it with 2 bases in 90 minutes, especially if you don't make mistakes (or the game doesn't count the clicks) - I lost about 5 minutes at the start all told, so it is doable with 2 bases.

It needs strategy. You need to start raiding these bases NONSTOP from the start. 10 minutes shield should be activated before event starts. All it took for me it eas 2 ships, 2 bases. Nothing else. The event is completable IF you are fast enough.

I cracked those bases at 6pm for a teammate, he did his event on the first run, i cracked them 15 min before event started, send 2 amalgams and hit them again 1 min before event start. From the first second to the last without any crashing, lagging i been hitting them. So for me it’s a mystery how you finished and I didn’t but that’s not the issue here. This event should be pvp fun, base’s should not score, milestones should be reachable for everyone and like pvp events in the past hosti grinding shouldn’t score either. If it’s a pvp event let it be 100% pvp

People are also completing a second round during this run because they were able to pull a second token at event reset last week. I'm not sure why I even bothered trying to rank, as I knew it was probable. My own fault for wasting an hour and a half of my time yesterday!

And on top of the inherent flaws in the event design, lag was TERRIBLE. It was taking 10-15 seconds to complete a single battle during the last 30 minutes.

Battle begins....and takes 20 seconds.....then the circle just keeps spinning in the center of the screen for another 10 seconds. The Isolytic SLB highlights again why PvP SLBs are not good ideas, they only encourage people to find ways to game the SLB, like finding dead or offline unshielded bases and repeatedly hitting them, or having others bomb all their ships with Reltas/G2s. Honestly PvP SLBs for anything but Incursions just feels destined to fail. Even if you eliminate bases scoring when they have no defense left, people will still look to trade kills, especially if the two are different PvP brackets(scoring between brackets should never happen).
One thought for discouraging kill trading that did not go well last time it was tried, was loosing points on losses. Another is declaring you must use or banned from using certain crews for both above and below deck. Add on requiring use of their previous ship class or 2 (ie 4* UCs vs 4* Rare) instead of their current ship class (idea is current class is still being built up, previous class is probably as large as the player wants). Could also require that winning ship cannot be larger than 150% of the loosing ship's power, meaning a 30M ship needs to kill 20M or larger ships, but wouldn't stop a 2M ship, IF it can kill a 30M for points.

I believe the issue with pvp slbs to be simple: scopley want it to be a rss sink, players want rewards. scopley offer poor rewards or vastly few reward placements, players will skip or find ways to game the system. solution: larger reward brackets with better rewards (that arent rss) gives scopley the rss sink they want and rewards players want. ppl wont game the system as much if actual pvp rewards and scores higher (like hull dmg? as scopley dont like to reward pvp loses apparently?)

Nobody is forcing anyone anything. I remember when pvp was fun, test some new crew settings. Now you only see strike team and lot’s of people don’t even know how to crew their ships for pve or armadas. If someone wants to score in a pvp event you can always ask a friend to help you with some realtas but scoring in a pvp event by grinding hostis of hitting empty bases shouldn’t score. We grinding 99% of the time to get better stronger ships and officers but when there is some opportunity to use them 99% shields up, doesn’t take part in pvp because ohhh my god I might loose and i have to repair. We can talk about this for hours but in my opinion we are playing a pvp game and that’s just not FarmVille. I don’t know how it’s on other servers but on ours even if a lv55-60 ask for some pvp help many are willing to send lot’s of small ships so they can finish their events ( even if it’s your enemy because we are all just players who need each other to play this game).

If you can't, then I suspect you have leveled your ops too far and are lacking in the ships and research that will allow you to meet the point demands of your bracket. Stop ops building and slow down and round out your account

the release scheme of the mission parts is not good and it emphasizes one problem with the red numbers/pips of the holodeck (and similar places too), the moment you can buy at least an old mission with the pattern buffer the relative red numbered pip is turned on and will not go away no matter how many time you open the holodeck (if you don't wanna spend the pattern buffer on the available missions), so when a new mission is released we have very little chance of noticing that one out of the dozens of red numbered indicators scattered all over the game interface has increased/changed.
Those red pips/numbers should be suppressed the first time you enter the holodeck and a new red pip should activate only when a new mission is released, no matter how many old missions we can buy but decided not to

It’s not a bug. Everyone who completes the first one is getting it. And you’re not “expected” to complete it. If you can you can, if you can’t you can’t. It’s just more shards if you are able to complete at least some of it, which is hardly a bad thing.

The problem is that the second doesn’t appear until you collect the first. Most people do all their spending and then collect the SMS. Then the second appears with zero points. So even if one spent enough to complete both, much of it is wasted bc of the way the events were run.

Its normal for par to be more common than trit/dil but this is just egregious...if you don't want to pay out that many resources fine, but gives us something other than the three basic resources than. The formation armada dmg event for storyline is by far one of the worst events this year. I literally had to mine 1 Dilithium yesterday. Now this? All the low level players in my alliance are being left out. Since the dmg requirement are so high, all the high level players have to hog all the armadas just to finish it. We’re all trying our best to coordinate and support each other, but interpersonal conflicts are unavoidable. Add to that the disparity in power between lv 35 and lv 40 formada, bulk of the players can only do 35s. What a colossal waste of time

@wanton copper @icy cairn I think it goes without saying that this has been a difficult arc. Formation Armadas are proving difficult for some alliances and their members to complete. Directives are very limited and damage is high and in majority of cases will not be completed within a couple of Armadas. This means now due to it being added into the storylines scoring you're effectively blocking players from being able to get Voyager / Kim via the free to play path that earned you a few browny points. That plus the complexity of the voyager loop, the fact that it's impossible to do full pulls of all things Voyager by design and the stupid directive override events have made a fair few players start questioning their future with the game. Including me. I know Scopley is a business and has to make those dollars but you do still have to look after the player base. Don't get me wrong. Formation Armadas are pretty cool...but the sourcing for the directives is terrible, you shouldn't be denied potentially getting a ship or officer because of bad sourcing and being reliant on other players to support you in Armadas. For those that have anxiety issues trying to push themselves into a whole bunch formation armadas is going to be near impossible or cause them to feel far more anxious than they should playing a game.

Whoever designed this arc needs to have their head examined. The scoring has been out of this world crazy. So many events with crazy milestones. It's like nothing I've ever seen in the 3+ years I've been playing. I know these things scale up by OPs level many times, but even recent arcs haven't been this high.

The milestones for at least the lower levels in the Storyline SMS (Formation Armada) are set unreasonably high. It would be fine for a heroic event or something similar, but for a storyline event which relies on completing every SMS in a longer series of events, this is frustrating.
Example: as a lv26, I need 2.55M damage to complete the SMS.... in a trial armada, I managed to do 130k.... so I need around 20 armadas to complete it. Considering I have a level appropriate ship (T4 Legionary), this seems excessive.

The only reason for the sms to exist is to score in the slb, and I guess there were technical limitations to set it up so pvp scored directly in the slb but only within one 90 minute window that you chose.

Fully incorrect. Central Time Zone is currently under Daylight Saving Time just like the Pacific Time Zone. Your times are off one hour from CDT just as the other times are off from PDT.

Putting the quality of the purge event aside. The times are horrible for EST time zone if you’re working full time typical time of day. One purge runs when you’re at work. One purge runs around dinner time. The next purge starts after you’ve gone to sleep and the last purge starts in the morning when you’re getting ready for work. Purge should only be on weekends. It’s the same reason we run incursions on the weekend. Wouldn’t be so bad if you didn’t need to score in this event to complete the in the flesh sms for the storyline event

Paired SMS with same scoring. 1) quick repair and return; 2) no server-wide turtling (& hence zero participation in game); 3) SMS encourages participation; 4) no negative scoring to discourage participation; 5) pvp with players in your level bracket - it isn't fun watching G5 ships hitting miners

I'll post some actual feedback since so many didn't see the announcements about the base thing changing or the communication that the SMS isn't intended to be completed:

1. Have PvP systems so those who want to participate can actually find people to fight, and so people who just want to do missions and PvE in peace can do so. It literally satisfies the entire player base
2. Bracket the thing (or bracket it better). I get zero enjoyment out of hitting people in the 30s or being hit by high 40s and 50s. It's a total waste of time.

It's been that way for all the 010 pvp days. Pvp is optional to score in the easy Storyline SMS and in the SLB.

Both have pve options if you want to skip pvp.

Very thankful for the galaxy wide pvp event being entirely optional, I haven't had the time to dedicate to it beyond the first run. Very glad I can choose to skip it and not lose out on anything but the chance at some artifact pulls.

Player choice is always a winning strat.

The only thing I'd ask for next run... that it be very clear this is optional from day 1. Between announcements, asking on here, and CCs communications, it has been somewhat unclear to surmise. We could have been plainly told this is just an alternative to completing the SMS for that same storyline point.

I gave up on the storyline because I thought it was unable to be completed without these events...I barely even care about this game anymore and wouldn't be playing if not for my alliance mates, and the lack of communication and clarity is part of why.

It is what it is though, and honestly, my spending reflects that. The only thing that will change is new features will be added.

Since Scopley caved to the pressure of getting rid of base hits, there are now a whole slew of people who only have an open time slot during the “graveyard shift” that will not be able to compete or even do well on their milestones. They’ve been paired on their SLBs with people who are on during the day and have a target rich environment. In the late hours there are no target rich environments. As ridiculous as “base humping” might be, it actually gives everyone a similar opportunity to both score in their respective SMS and compete in their SLB bracket. So, the event has gone from bad to worse.

Agree, with this timeframe’s you don’t have to worry about getting hit for 24h, everyone can find a time period to grind hostis or have some pvp. Ok, the scoring isn’t perfect but there are many things in the game that aren’t perfect. I think splitting in 4 different timeframes is a good start in the right direction

The restore isolytic artifact had a countdown of Monday yesterday. Today it shows 5+ days. The only thing that changed is the Janeway slb is now an xslb with those artifacts added. It feels like they’re just changing the dates, the rewards, the events, everything last minute. This removes my ability to plan or work on events. It artificially burns out players. See the difficulties of navigating the issue from various perspectives. I always thought TNG did this best. This isn't the channel to drive the citations home or have a long conversation, but the main groups driving talk of a LGB+T fracture are psyops run by predominantly cis people who anytime they gain acceptance also immediately start to exclude bi people, and are being funded by homophobic groups that will immediately move onto lesbian and gay people once they have less support. The majority of it on the legislation side is just because that's where the most recent strides for rights have been made so it's the easiest ones to roll back, but similarly any time they make progress they move onto gay rights, women's rights, etc.

If you feel cis is a slur, it's likely because you use trans as one. 'cis' is just a latin prefix that's the counterpoint to 'trans'. Literally, it means near, or same side, where trans means across. Opting out isn't a developed function in this game. You can do it with an ALB by dropping your tags or not scoring. Or you can just ask CS to remove the avatar rewards when you get them.
The event was an opt-in event at the start. From what I heard, anyone could Join from your alliance to get everyone to join.

The pride event really doesn’t seem to have much to do with Star Trek. As the last week of pride month, it seems to be checking a box and not really supporting LGBT. As a “top 1000 alliances” event, it doesn’t seem very competitive. This is lazy, uninspired, and downright insulting. That part is definitely fair. Rainbow capitalism by many companies is shallow as hell.
