The decision to roll back researches is incredibly upsetting and I honestly don’t have any idea what was different about the cost. I spent hours doing research, simply because it was time to catch up, and now I’m going to have to do all that again. I have the same in game notification. The most frustrating thing is how vague the statement is. They have not specified the nature of the bug/exploit. From Galaxy chat my understanding is as follows:

1 - the issue was that using the green 'Instant' button was subtracting Latinum but not materials such as Mirror Dust. No idea why this was not specified.

2 - It is only researches unlocked that way that will be rolled-back, together with (I think) any subsequent levels that were completed the usual way.

As far as I am aware, I have not used the green 'Instant' button for months, so I am not sure why I have a notification in my game news.

from what it sounds like the exploit research is being rolled back for those that did it. As well as any player who legitimately did same research without using the exploit during the same timeframe. Though for players who did it legally they getting refunded the cost and mats where as ones who didn't sounds like they just get rolled back and credited what lat they used @nimble pawn

I reported last month about not being able to activate the redeem code and never got a response back, but they mess up and players get more than they should have they take it back fast, but yet they keep releasing things that are broken and the players have to deal with it. I feel like I am being punished for something that I did not even know about. If I would have known about the issue I would have maxed my ships, research and made OP's 63 which is what I have been pushing toward for the last two months as they keep adding more loops and 30 mins of clicking, so I am asking myself is it worth playing anymore if I just come to hangout with some cool players, we will just have to see.

The 'economy' of STFC would not be impacted by a surplus of dilithium. This isn't a 'supply and demand' economy that flooding the 'market' with a resource causes it to 'tank'. Dilithium isn't a scoring element on events (outside of maybe Daily FKR events, which.... again.... doesn't really do much), and there's a finite limit of how much can be spent without the use of other materials. Boost alliance level? Wooooooo doesn't do anything worth reporting for the sake of this argument. You kowtow anything Scopely does and you defend it.

This channel is for 'general feedback' right? You respond to inquiries and lack any empathy. You respond to player frustrations with condescension. You've repeatedly shut down feedback if you felt there was enough feedback. Do more gooder.

Update 90 gives us the star trek starfleet academy battlepass. This update will be known as the update that ruined the game👌🏻Its actually quiet ironic how this battlepass is based on the horrendous star trek starfleet academy tv show. And now the game got ruined. The g5 scrapping is rubbish as i expected but i wasnt prepared for the choice rewards being removed. It was the only thing i was buying as im not gonna spend 50 or 100 just to buy a pack. Now i wont be needing to spend, i know its nothing but i know quite a few players who were also buying the 20£ bp for choice rewards. Now they all said they wont be buying anything. You would think that, but when has Scopely actually followed the "rules" when it came to doing "right" by the customers? Literally never.

Players slowed spending. In response, big wigs demanded more, and directors, arc runners, etc wanted everyone bonuses, so they let that greed drip into every aspect to avoid losing their jobs. Giving players mats is seen as "hurting the bottom line". So, they stop.

I remember that i was a moderator for Solid Clouds (Starborne: Frontiers), it was chill, they were very communicative with the community, fixed bugs asap and had the best customer support i have seen in nearly 40 years of gaming. Mods had an easy job handling discord, players were pretty much happy.

Couldnt imagine being a mod for this game, you get all the (deserved) hate for something someone else does. I dont know if mods in here get any benefits, but it should be a hefty sum to make it worth it.

There are two separate things going on. As revenue streams drop, Scopely is trying to maintain revenue levels by extracting more cash from the whales at the expense of reduced rewards for everyone else. This is part of the normal lifecycle of a FTP/PTW game, and signals the beginning of a long, slow slide into mothballs.

The second issue is not so normal, and that's the complete and total lack of any kind of quality control. They could open a test server for players who want to experience new content first and are willing to deal with and report bugs in exchange. They could hire a quality assurance staff. They could hire better coders. Not doing any of these things is only going to cause further reductions in revenue and hasten the slide.

Normally when migrating an engine..and your a big enterprise, you bring in the engine's subject matter expert for a couple of weeks to familiarize everyone with changes and yes, review the existing code before switching. Rather than having an interim schedule or starting a new arc straight away shut the game down for week and try to fix all the problems. Are they revert the refinery for the Academy to be based on the bldg level rather than ops? Cause that's about the only way to "fix" the issue of the new loop. At ops 66 I can get only about 500 mats required and need 6k to do 1 pull. So that's at least 12 trips to get 1 pull and we get 1 token a day. And we need the bldg leveled in order to hit higher hostiles which have more loot.

I get that Scopely needs to make money but designing a loop like this isn't incentizing me to buy a pack, it just makes me mad and want to play another game which is fun and I'm actively looking thru their shop to see what I want to buy because the game is fun.

1. Grind the Training Merits
2. Have a 1-day cooldown for converting 6* Merits to 7*
3. Have another 1-day cooldown for converting 7* Merits to Engineering Credits
4. Have ANOTHER 1-day cooldown for converting Engineering Credits to actual stuff

Suggestion: Could you guys be a little less cooldown-happy? Gate stuff by making it hard to collect, and/or by a cooldown. But cut out the cascade of unnecessary cooldowns.

Second suggestion: It would also be nice if your cooldowns all worked the way Daily Goals do -- per 24-hour period, so on any given day it doesn't matter if I collect the material at 8am or 11pm, as long as I collect it within the window. The way most of the cooldowns work now (on a 22-hour timer), waiting for event reset, or having a real-life schedule change, can really mess with daily gathering.

And while I'm on the topic, the fact that Elite Recruit tokens have an actual 24-hour cooldown (instead of a 22-hour one) is REALLY annoying. 🙂

They want you to believe the new BP is packed with even more value. It is not. Choice rewards could have gotten you nearly 17k rare crystal, while the new BP gets you around 5K. Both are $20. The serious value came from the mats/rss. That has been destroyed. The new BP is comparitively worth perhaps $5.

<@&509690795536941056> A bit of feedback in respect to the Academy refinery - the claim chest for training merits to engineering credits needs to be linked to building level, not ops level, it is impossible to get enough for a single pull of engineering credits for me at ops 69 - 24k is an extremely high ask when we can barely hit 62s at this point, and therefore cannot get enough loot unless we grind for ages, which is harder seeing as tokens needed for access - and with no other sourcing for the class honors, i and anyone else at my ops level is effectively frozen out of this content and improving the building. Please take this back to the developers and make the suggestion that they need to make this change to the loop so that it is actually possible to progress. If not, then barely anyone in our ops range will be able to do anything with it.

We know Conor has promised to make things better but they will take time. We can accept that. Choice tokens. The upcoming nerf to Alliance Games, sorry, even without seeing it based on all available evidence, its going to be a nerf. The battle passes this month have NONE of the new content, whereas for the last few years, you got about 25 percent of the officer in the 20 dollar track. What incentive do I have to spend my time and money on this?

• Player disposition with the game is currently “needs improvement”
• Lots of players enjoy punching up to help create time to work on more loops.

Problem is it is not even remotely engaging to temper with your Crew for specific hostiles.
Problem is bsrring your players from using soecific officers is not gonna create hype OR revenue.

I've been a developer for 25 years, and I've never come across a situation where we would have shipped any of the so blatantly broken updates that Scopely ship out on a regular basis without a serious internal enquiry as to wtf happened. The state of scopely's updates makes me embarassed for my profession.

I don't blame the coders, engineers, dev team, marketing or anyone else in Scopley's corporate structure. I put all of the blame for the this absolute S show on Connors head. We need a new GM that has a vision and understanding of what players want. I've already moved past hate and have gone directly to apathy. I just don't care anymore. I play this game how I want to now (when it works). I set milestones for my account (i.e getting my G6 rare to T9) any other loops or events I ignore since the effort I need to put in doesn't justify the time/rewards. For the players who don't belive that they're being heard. I would suggest contacting Savvy Games, it was a very cathartic experience for me
