I applaud elite outposts being announced as always-on from the get-go, but similar to regular outposts, please try to have a plan in place (particularly after this arc) to provide regular sourcing... I'm really not understanding why directives aren't just a permanent daily claim. You already added a cap so it's not like people can hoard them

I think Scopely is going about this all wrong. There is s ton to do in this game once you hit Op38 or 40ish. The idea that they will try to surface that content instead of making new content makes sense. But they are being too rigid. Making 10 Ops levels focus on Scopely’s ship of choice misses the point. The events should be more dynamic so players can work tjhe 4-5 different loops that open up in the 40s. The players are right, Scopely isn’t as familiar with their own game as they should be. Or at least the people making the decisions aren’t.

I would genuinely like to know the reason behind Merdian IA being locked behind ops 56 like it literally makes zero sense. You can max the ship by G3/G4 but only till you reach ops56 do you get the privilege to sunset the loop. Until then you just have to suffer through the old loop.

The particles make no sense either. You will get 30 of each per day whereas you can get 200 (or even 400 with both services activated) by pulling manually. Also metreon particles have a CHANCE of dropping 27 whereas you have a guaranteed 100 when you use the refinery. I sure hope those refinery pulls don't vanish once the ship is mastered.

You will also see a massive decrease in iso emulsion. You can get a maximum of 329.8k/day from the refinery beginning at OPS 59. The mastery pull is only 199.7k which comes down to a net loss of 130.1k iso emulsion daily.

<@&509690795536941056> meridian IA, i appreciate it being added BUT theres so many things wrong with it. 1. the archive bonuses are just horrendous, ESPECIALLY when at ops 56, who even mines iso anymore, exborg claims covers the mining you would do for 4-5 days when max pulling, probably a little over a week if you double pull, it gets worse at g6 when your selkie mines as fast or even faster than the meridian. 2. why can you only max it at 56, the last component that is needed to upgrade the meridian all the way to max is at ops 39 iirc(someone correct me if im wrong). it literally means that 90% of the active playerbase will have maxed their meridian either before they hit g4 or if they pushed quickly, around ops 42-45. theres no reason to make them go through the loop when we have so many others to do, heck you cant even get 6 docks till ops 48 or 49, 7th dock you need to grind for it in augment which is another grind. finally, why on earth is the meridian IA so expensive to upgrade, i had 5k of the archive cube things before this update and now i still need to wait maybe a little over 20 days just to max the archive. do we seriously need to make archives so hard to max. archives are literally there so that WE as players can max it, get it over with and just click the claim all button everyday so that WE never need to care about that loop ever again.

also another thing completely unrelated to meridian IA, outpost directives should have a reliable, daily drip. 300 a day or 600 a day. we should not need to wait for a random battle pass to get the directives that we need for the outpost. due to this, we will take much longer than 200 days to get fc sisko, dont even get me started on the fc slot(which i must say why is it locked at outpost building 61, seriously why) and the mats needed to actually tier sisko with, and thats literally a whole other problem, why is there sigma commander credits. we never even asked for that.(didnt know discord had word limit lmao)

• added G6 level territory armadas giving more alliance territory consumables and a sigma trickle

all squandered with garbage content.

Before problem with WARP range is fixed without you need do something and I don't use FC Kirk. Written before, that the places was reachable without FC Kirk. BTW, do nothing on you side is the best way to keep game playable with less bugs. And now new things which I controlled before and after. FC Kirk warp range abillity has no effect same warp distance before and after for Borg Cube, which i will use. Promotion FC chok has no effect on mining epic trassogen. It's not nerfed, it was lengthened in order to make space for elites. The same input is required to finish them, ie. one normal every two days.

If you miss or are late with one pull you will fall out of sync with the battlepass and lets face it. alot of people are logging in less and less these days with the way the game has gone this year

I read the description of Sisko when it was announced, and I really thought it was accurate, but I've been proven wrong once again. We can unlock Sisko immediately. Great. Especially when you have 150,000 to 830,000 parts, which is absurd, and on top of that, a 20-hour wait. I'd like to see the player who's earned those 150,000 parts without spending any money on them or following the guidelines. I strongly suggest you try earning your own crap during testing, and keep playing until you're fully charged. Getting Sisko takes at least 200 days if you complete the outposts daily. I think you've adopted the motto "greed is good." How can you be so greedy?

Not a happy camper ATM. My 3 ops 40-46 accounts got the 250 Matrix Diodes to do the SNW Mission Chains. Unfortunately those accounts also had the Entanglement Chains in the Holodeck Archive tab. I chose to accept those missions as the Holodeck flagged them as available and not the 5 Matrix Diode Missions in the SNW tab. That means I have NO way to complete SNW Matrix Diode chains as unlike Pattern Buffers, you can't buy Diodes (not that I could afford them in any event).

The Sigma Commander credits is a pretty steep ladder to climb. Buying one booster pack to increase the commander level increased by two levels. In order to get it to a level 13, based on how much it cost to level up already, I’m guessing you would cost five $100 packs to reach level 13.That seems pretty steep and concerning for a new release of a fleet commander. I would highly suggest revisiting that in making adjustments to either how many sigma Commander credits you get on buying a pack, or how much it cost to level this guy up.

Has Scopley taken on any feedback regarding the temporary outpost buffs? <@&509690795536941056> I do not see any scenarios where I am already using my best 3/4 ships with doing Outposts, where I have a 5th ship capable of actually taking advantage of them. Even then, I do not struggle with anything at my Ops, so these temporary buffs do seem absolutely pointless in the game in their current form.

The only somewhat useful one is the singular buff that helps with the Outposts themselves, and even then, it's not worth taking it passed lvl 4/5 each time you run an outpost due to the cost.

New way: go to website, enter email address, open email app for passcode, try to remember passcode because the mobile doesn't easily let you copy and paste, go back to web browser, web browser has refreshed and you no longer have the option to enter the code, enter email address, go back to email for new passcode, go back to web browser and hope it hasn't refreshed, oh wait it did, try a third time, this one worked but now because you have had to try to remember 3 different numbers, you don't actually type it in correctly and now you have to go back to your email a fourth time to figure out where you screwed up

I don't like that the cloaking cooldown timer is shared. If you cloak ship A, attack a hostile, then cloak ship B, and attack a hostile, ship A's cooldown timer gets reset to the same time as ship B. It may be all ability cooldowns - I think the mantis cooldown changes a cloak cooldown also.

Most hackers log into emails they’ve bought or stolen, and search through emails looking for purchases. Then target the website the purchase was made. Since they have full access to the email. They will migrate to other sites. Then target those. Typically logging into most successful.

By removing passwords (most people use the same, when they should use different passwords, for each website). This gives hackers instant access to, instead of another roadblock.

It's not tied to any of my other email addresses. now if it gets compromised beyond my strong password, and a hacker has found access too it, because my scoply account has a different password, now they can bypass the password and now they have the emails and cards that I had saved for payment methods. That is just one of the ways this is less secure.

You can run as many discord event as you like, I‘m not bothering with participating in a „celebration“ where my chances to get absolutely anything in return for my effort are lower than being hit by lightning if I were to step outside.

First, I'm really sorry that the Discord events enrage you so much. That's not our intent and I want to stress that no one is forcing you to participate. Its totally a voluntary. Some players dig them some don't. Personally, I'm glad we run them because I think awarding some packs to players every month is better than none at all.

As a CM, events are much easier to run on Discord, but the idea of doing something in game is interesting... Maybe that's something Pauly and I can look into.

Though I think some of the harder to get avatars or frames would make cool prizes. Maybe even an exclusive event related in game avatar would be pretty cool. But I know you disagree with avatars and frames being rewards, and that's ok.

Thanks for the reply - and just to clarify, I’m not enraged, just disillusioned and giving feedback on the event design. This is not to critique you or anyone personally, I just want to point out that there seems to be a very asymmetric view on what is „a holiday event for everyone“.

I fully understand that Discord events are easier (and probably more importantly, cheaper) to run, and it’s fine that some players enjoy them. My point isn’t about being forced to participate - it’s about calling something a “celebration for everyone” when, by design, any rewards only reach a microscopic fraction of participants.

Personally, I’d much rather see in-game events where participation itself yields a guaranteed reward, even if small. That feels far more in line with a holiday celebration than a points-based endurance contest.

Cosmetics like avatars or frames are fine for some, but for many long-time players (I never met someone who ‚wanted‘ a cosmetic) they’re simply not motivating, especially as they don’t impact gameplay in any way.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond, and as mentioned, my critique goes not to an individual but to how Scopely operates as a whole with this game, as it can be summed up as treating the players as walking wallets

While I understand your point about preferring an in-game event with participation rewards, despite how difficult that would be to implement, I want to reiterate that I’m glad we run these monthly events.

You’re not suggesting we should stop running them just because not everyone gets a reward, right? You’d still rather have these events continue, with some players earning a pack even if competition varies month to month, than not have them at all.

And as a side note, last month’s fan art event had 10 winners, and once we removed all AI submissions (which we did), players actually had a solid chance of winning. So while this month may have more participants, that isn’t always the case.

The "use a code to login" for the webstore is not 2FA, this is 1FA.

2 factor authentication is a password and a code, for example. Hence the number "2". The email address/account ID is not one of the two authentication methods - it doesn't count for that.

It's also usually preferable to have the code sent somewhere other than the address you would use to recover your account.

It doesn't really matter whether Scopely stores a password or a login code, they still have to store something on their end. The codes are generated via software, so they can theoretically be predicted in advance with enough knowledge.

There are reasons why this method of login is not used much anymore, because it's not as secure as it appears. Emails are not considered private, nor are they all that secure.

This is just auto-generated passwords being emailed to the user, basically. (Those are a huge no-no in infosec.) One-time use makes it a little better, but still not great.

Side note: email servers do not like mass autogenerated emails sent from the same address, so I hope that was figured out before it was implemented.

As I said, it’s completely fine to run Discord events for people who enjoy that. I’m not arguing against their existence.

What I’m pointing out is a prioritization issue: we are playing a game, so any seasonal or holiday „celebration” should first and foremost exist in-game. Discord should be optional, on top, or niche — not the primary place where a holiday event lives.

If you want to run an art contest or community challenge on top for people who are into that, great. But a holiday celebration that is branded as „for everyone“ needs to be accessible where everyone actually plays: in the game.

Game > Discord.

The question isn’t „some rewards vs none at all“. It’s whether a celebration is designed around participation or around extreme scarcity. Handing out a few packs once in a while doesn’t change the underlying structure, and that structure mirrors how Scopely generally approaches player engagement and monetization.

I... don't think this is a thing. The officer group efficiencies cause the "X out of Y" shards display to inaccurately display that an officer is ready to promote, but I've never seen or heard of an officer actually being demoted or locked away after being unlocked.

That said, the inaccurate display absolutely does need to be fixed, it's terrible when trying to decide which officers to purchase in faction/event stores.

the game will make you feel pressured to buy, but there are people in the "premium" (meaning spend or suffer a lot) area of the game atm, but it takes a lot of work

F2P looks to be some magnitudes of weaker all the time in principle you should be able to advance as pure f2p.
But looking at p2w stuff, there are some exclusives, extra builder, research slots officer, ships, prime researchs etc

Really all depends on what you consider "winning". You can progress F2P with patience and strategy, but it will be very slow going so lots of patience.

PVE/Missions/Events you can mostly work through F2P (except spend events). PVP you stand no chance F2P

I’m a Battlepass only spender. $20 every 4 weeks about. Some players consider that close enough to F2P I don’t. I play this game more hours than I watch Netflix and Netflix charges me $25 a month 😐

Ask around your server before you join an alliance. Don’t be afraid to jump ship if it’s not working out for you. We recently had a player return to our alliance because his other alliance was requiring everyone to buy a certain $100 ship.

Any idea when there will be a fix for the issues with the incorrect amount of officer shards being displayed, as an example i see i have 356/36 and dont see an accurate number with the shard efficiencies until i buy another shard of the officer, as can have max shards for an officer and still have to waste credits/ transporter tokens to get am accurate number of how many shards i have, losing half the credits if the officer is already maxed as only get a fraction back in transporter tokens. This affects all displays in faction stores, recruit tab, officer tab etc

Also the speed of collecting items from the faction store requires some serious network upgrades, the spinning wheel drives us nuts but as you only test on your own network you clearly have no idea how bad it is for most users.

I have had to disable 5g on my mobile one of my favourite ways to play was on dog walks, and game just constantly kicks you out when switching between 4g and 5g mobile data, was never an issue till last 2 years

The archives are great, but need tweaking, the meridian archive should be lower, it is barely useful in upper g4 and is terrible vs the nova. The other is the voyager archive- the faction scout messages should be added. It is boring and time consuming to summon them in any volume

• fixing bugs becomes more and more difficult, not to mention fixing a faulty design that was there to begin with

6years player here. Here's a quick feeback. While I apreciate a good animation. Put those in games, like in mission (transition) instead. If you want to release new stuff, it's fine. Personnaly I would much prefer that programmers (even if it's just vibe coding at this point) would be working on a real inventory system, where you can query, delete (the dream) and shuffle stuff around. I'll be the first in line to purchase a DLC that would bring that into the client. Not another speciality ship, a real quality of life feature.

Yes, I understand all of that. But STFC was very different from most games. First of all it was buggy from the beginning. However it's retention rate was crazy high for the first few years. Any smart CEO would have seen this and said, "let's fix the issues now while it's still possible." But they didn't. Now it's likely not even possible. This lack of foresight will kill the game. If Scopely would have put more time into fixing things early on we would be in a much better place. Additionally more thought should have been put into long term trajectory of the game rather than quarterly cash grabs. Spending money on something as silly as this animated short just highlights how tone def Scopely actually is.

It really is a simple economic point, yet Scopely cant seem to understand it. Ive been saying for a long time that many of the most successful games make money by having a fun game with affordable content. Having a lower price point opens your customer base so much. in 30 min sessions, my kirshara will randomly skip hostiles in queue almost 10-15 hostile targets, or stop attacking all together with a queue still shown maybe every 15 minutes. I haven't tracked the issues, but it is constant.
My alliance-mates also report that they cannot leave the system with the kir'shara.

Busy for me too, but I can find 15mins. I'm all for telling Scopely when I think they've done something dumb, but this isn't one of those times. No matter the date, it will always be bad for a portion of the players, but I'd bet this is likely to be fine for the majority of the players, and they should be doing what is right for the majority of players (this is where I remind Scopely that a $100 pack price point is not good for the majority of players... nor their revenue stream).

I gotta say that so far this month has been a let down. Not because of the Elite Ouposts, which are fine (although asking us to pay sigma rss for the Upgrades pretty much negates their usefulness to most of us). But because of the ridiculously high Refinery costs for FC Sisko and his supplies, as well as the absolutely insane price tag for the next FC slot. They all need major adjustments to salvage this month 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I believe the Treasury alternates between parsteel/ore, tritaniuum/Crystal, and dilithium/gas primary with the other two being secondary and tertiary. If Crystal isn't primary, the other two are pitiful. Or at least I believe this is how it used to be.

Honestly, I have nothing against the Community Managers as people.
They are clearly decent humans trying to do their job as well as they can.
But right now their role looks like 1% bug-forwarding and 99% corporate shock absorber.

Cause lower level players, to do 3 tasks a day, have to spend around an hour every day, trying to find the right task that they CAN actually do and that gives maximum points, rerolling tasks, waiting for someone else to reroll tasks, etc. Perhaps we need a new community manager who actually knows how it is when you're not a lvl 70 whale?

Disrespectful is little said. And now we see the CM pointing out a comment by one of the whales that "it takes 15 minutes to do 3 tasks". Clearly, people are forgetting, that the majority of players is not level 70 whales who can just spend hundreds on a pack and complete three 10k tasks in a moment! Anyone else has to either grind AT LEAST 70 mobs times three, spend a lot of time finding the right tasks (cause a lvl 20-30 cannot do anything solo except Fed, Kli, Rom, Swarm, Hirogen), rerolling tasks. As a commander of a large alliance (nearly 90 people) with almost all players below level 50, I can tell you that it does not take 15 minutes to do 3 tasks a day, it takes approximately an hour. And nobody who has family is going to want to spend an hour in a game in this specific time, especially a lot of people are travelling to see their family etc.
