We had major issues last year and in January the Scopley team made a few major promises. The main on being "Quality over Quantity" So far this year we are still having issues with stability in TC and Waves that's gone on forever. Not really Quality. And now we have crossover GQ content that is marketed as Star Trek somehow. Do we really need to add this when so many other things are still broken.

We will never get any sort of reworked or replay arcs to give them time to do something like build a better game with better modular design to allow for added on content in the future. We will never see obsolete things sunsetting, whether it be hostiles like worms or separatists who have content and story loops no one can go through to understand why they are there, or the massive amounts of old currencies and widgets in our inventories that serve zero purpose any more.

They have no real plan to keep the game sustainable or fun. They just have a plan to keep adding primes and packs to the store.

You say that giving free currency would devalue the fc slot but how? It’s a resource to make the game easier not a collectible. Going to be honest. Reading this reply was a gut punch to start my day. I realize there is a lot of frustration and anger over the issues but calling Pauly and my "lack professional and meaningful communication" "inexcusable" is off the mark.

We were continuously updating players with every new development we heard from the team and in only two of those announcements friendlier language was used to address players. Going forward, when we are experiencing issues as severe as yesterday we will keep official announcements to the pertinent topics and will be less colloquial.

Over the past 24 hours we posted 10 updates letting players know about our investigation, ceasefire shields, and downtime. In only one of those communications did we mention external server issues.

Since Pauly and I came onboard as the CMs on Official, we have made it our goal to improve comms with the community here and I'm sorry if we fell short of your expectations yesterday.

But we still got as much information as we could to players as fast as we got it from the team.

I think we understand how meaningful communication is key. I can only speak for myself when I worked in a Crisis Action Team (CAT) every time one of our bosses asked us a question or for a status report it was published to all end users, typically between every 2 hours to 15 minutes we would have some sort of communication around the clock.

People are frustrated is all. Some like myself spend a lot of money to be apart of this community and become frustrated when it seems like the money we spend isn't going towards making the game better and more stable for all players.

Galaxy Quest isn't a spoof. It's an homage. They aren't making fun of Trek, they are embracing the heart and community of the series. There is a documentary called Never Surrender which talks about the backstory/production of the movie -- there is also info on the wiki page. - [i think i replied to the wrong comment 😄 ]

Crossover could be fun, most are, but what is out of the ordinary here is that they are making a permanent change to the game with it, unlike most crossovers anywhere else. It's an overstep.

Galaxy Quest is as Trek as the intro theme song to Enterprise is... Adding it as a temp event in a game would be less problematic than as the intro to every episode of a series...

As much as it pains most, the opening music for Enterprise is Trek because, as you pointed out, is part of every episode of Star Trek Enterprise. There's lots of cringe that is Trek. Galaxy Quest is less Trek than that because it's not remotely part of that IP. What Galaxy Quest is, though, is equally related to Trek as any other future space sci-fi IP, like BSG, Red Dwarf, Andromeda, Lexx, Farscape, and countless others. It is not inherently Trek and deserves no permanent fixture within it.

Even if it's a homage, there are much better ones out there than galaxy quest. Trek continues, or Axanar would be 100x better options. The Orville would be a better choice than Galaxy Quest.

And I love the WD mechanics, I really do, they are some of the most fun things to do in the game. But the effort required to get a good team together is extreme and tiring which means I rarely do them. Next time please just award some credits instead of the ciphers.

The ciphers are also one of the few "rewards" that require actual effort to get anything useful. The rest (except for Trial bells) are just plain rewards.

I’m the say it’s not a common occurrence, hate to break it to them as one who has been playing since the game launched almost 7 yrs now it will be 7th year anniversary in November. I can tell you that it is a very common thing especially since many times it’s broken again a day or two after the fix. Xindi Uncommon Armada Pack cost 4 (!) times more credits when you reach Ops 57.
If you compare them with the cost for the Rare Xindi Armada Packs the costs also rise to 4 times -> at Ops 59

The drastically cost increase at Ops 59 makes far more sense to push players to progress to Ops 60 and get a G6 Ship with higher range.
Maybe that's one reason why people camp at Ops 56

Could we get a rerun of the Mega Cube event. Day 2 Borg Recruit is where I slam down my stockpiled resources to get a second helping of Borg Directives for the Borg Mada event on Day 3.

Because of the technical difficulties on the 2nd day making it impossible for me to even have any points on the board, let alone place in the event, I have been completely dry for this 3rd Day Borg Mada event and as such have made effectively zero progress in Megacube Event Rewards.

If we aren't going to be comped event rewards that we were denied the ability to participate in, could we have a rerun of it?

2nd, any talk of comping the players that spent EC currency on the Borg Cube since the Redeem Core for 100 Borg Cube BPs was released during the event?

The compensation chest was by far way TOO small for the level of disruption to the game that occurred to the point where it is insulting to players and shows a massive misunderstanding of the current player sentiment.

Things go wrong, most of us get that….and when that happens a company needs customer good will that has been built up over time to assist with service recovery.

To be clear……there is no STFC player good will towards Scopely.

This has been eroded over the years by dismissive customer service, the delivery of low quality/glitchy product, game elements that are clearly money grabs and the refusal to listen to the player base. This was an opportunity to help partially repair the damage that has been done through a rapid deployment of a sufficient comp chest and as immediate refund/redeployment for anyone who purchased the exo or dropped their resistance chits onto something they wouldn’t have otherwise purchased because they were scrambling to spend it on something in the brief second they were online. This was an opportunity that was missed.

I could give a myriad of other misses that have occurred from a service recovery aspect however, I doubt that even this message will be read.

I don't get the spend events; they are so expensive that there is no point trying to compete; many events are like that. Before, at least, there was the possibility you could win or get high on an event. With the current way compeat events are made, it has removed that drive to compeat, removed the urdge and drive to buy a pack, cause why buy it, you wont get near the top 10 or even top 50 anymore.

With scraping and other features that were nerfed, it forced you to grind more, cause you could get some free resources from the extra time invested, and that again, also helped create a drive to progress and spurred the lust to buy packs cause you were so close to the next ship tier/ops level. Now I have no lust to compete in events, cause with something like the rare ship parts as in the image, that ship is long past its usefullness, and even when it was a fantastic daily ship, it would have cost north of 5000 euros to max. there are no grind ways to spend hours extra to grind for parts, and then getting close to the next tier and buying a pack to get the last parts to remove the remaning grind.
Atm the game is 99.99% a game on rails, there is no way to work for progress, only waiting for the next event where you know you get X resources.
I and a lot of my alliance mates are considering quitting, cause there is no challenge, nothing to work for, cause more and more work for progress has been removed, infavor of the next event payout, which is boring.
I am 56 and so far compared to the 40's the 50's are boring.

i agree with your end comment about 50s being boring. For me the motivation to go past ops50(going on 3rd month) is non existent due to brackets. As a player who has decided for past 2 years to be ftp (2 months of buying doesnt mean I'm not ftp out of 24 months). There is very slim chance of ranking in my leaderboards which isnt heavy with pack buyers. Only way i can feel relevant in today's stfc is to constantly and i do mean constantly build the g3 ships spending hard needed rep credits so i can max scrap for 4* stuff for research and ship parts. I'm glad i dont spend anymore or have huge amounts of loose cash because I'd be afraid I'd give it all to scopley just to get 2% further.

There should have been a separate compensation chest for those players or all exos turned on for the 48 hours we missed out on or refunds. I've gotten no response from you or the other person who I also tagged in my other post that gives official info and updates. No response from the bots in support. That's a lot of money collectively that scopley ripped us off for and that compensation chest that they gave us for the 48 hours of unplayable lag was pathetic but that's another story. I'm concerned about the $200 in packs I bought that I didn't get what I was promised. I'm about ready to go to Google play store and ask for a refund because we got ripped off. I encourage everyone else who paid for the packs and lost out on the exos to do the same

Opening the incursion store to be able to use incursion exos is good in theory........but in practice.....it only helps if you have any Incursions coins to purchase them. no i did not get the window which shows what items i got to begin with before you ask me, please read what i'm about to write carefully & relay this message to all members of your managers responsible for this game: You need to stop making 'new' stuff & focus on 'fixing' the game, I understand you are trying to do both, but 'sometimes' it's better to either focus on releasing new things or improving what's already in the game, you can't just 'compensate' people (thanks for these) because it's a very temporary fix to something that's fundamentally ignored. Knowing when either focuses need to be amped up is yours to figure out & there's no better place than your frontline team members right here reading everyone's 'feedback'. A decent fraction of people are are telling you actual things you can really do that will genuinely improve the game & encourage people to purchase more (and people get paid for giving such advice, auditors?) i just read someone here saying this arc was the first time they didn't buy the battle pass; even without bugs most people didn't buy it because it didn't have the store tokens like before which made zero sense.

Don't wait for big problems to arise whether it's little things in game that pile up or huge things like the incursion server merging issues & then 'solve' it when 1-2 years has passed over something you can easily fix in the next patch with players rightfully complaining about it non stop (or big things with preventable updates like the incursion) communication between your teams is key to everything, especially those that are here reading everything everyone has to say.

I think scopely is walking a real fine line when saying they listen to player feedback. Did they just make MU more manageable as per feedback, sort of...with more grinding to get there. One of your largest player bases is ops 30 to 39, many stuck at 39. I get the intent isnt do everything and choose what you want but many just do not have the time to put in for more grinding. That please ask developers to turn off daily hostile limit. It just messes with those people who like the game as it is and actually want to play. But that limit just makes it difficult. There are more and more features in the game so reaching that limit is getting easier and easier. Plus the whole thing was made because of some players used bots to auto farming cheat. But scopely not long ago made a feature for auto farming (doesn't matter that it doesn't work right now). It is simply nonsense that hostile limit is still a thing.

@raw fiber I am repeating myself here, however is there talks of doing a rerun of the Return Of The Mega Cube event due to the connection issues within STFC during the event? I know it is run once a season between events but the lack of ability to participate harmed any progression towards the event goals. Getting a second shot at the event would address the grievances over the last comp chest not covering event rewards people were denied from competing for.

Second, is there any talk of any compensation or consideration at all for the players that spent EC Currency on the Borg Cube during the Mirror Universe event since you dropped the Borg Cube redeem code during the event? I am one of I assume many players that used the EC currency to get the Borg Cube, and the redeem code effectively turned that spending into a currency trap.

This has been an issue for a while but has only been addressed by CC's for the last year.

But why has scoply pushed so hard for their content, even giving out sponsors to promote the game to new players to try and obtain a new audience just to keep adding new content at a cap not reachable for quite some time for the playerbase? ( this isn't even mentioning how much of said player base is under 40)

Obtaining level 40 is going to take so long that the advertised new content that could have been enticing would turn anyone away as soon as they understand the time needed to get there, so all the effort is for nothing?

The number of people already playing the game that are in their 30s that keep seeing new content to the game and seeing nothing added to even get them to where they very blatantly should be for the game to care about them, enjoying the new content is demoralizing.
Keeping this line of content cap for 40 is going to lose what you have and keep people away from coming in, and I've seen CC's that don't even play the game after their sponsors get told by the player base alone to never pick it back up again, because we know how little we are cared about in the game(unless you spend thousands of dollars)

We understand you want money, but you're never going to get new income if you can't keep new players or newer existing players reaching the ''real game'' @ scoply more than the community managers would be awesome if someone was able to send these to them because i know im not the only one asking

Let’s be ultra clear here, the fact so many are engaged on state of content, and state of game topics, shows the love for the Star Trek label. This is completely separate from how most feel about Scopley.

Scopley is nothing more than a curator of that label. The license agreement from Paramount, must be such that Paramount doesn’t care about running the label into the ground.

You have to wonder if Paramount is aware at all at the manner in which the Star Trek label is cared for by their licensee.

I'm not talking about the poor people that paid $100 for the Borg Cube. Premium Paywalls are always early access, need to be early access for the health of the game.

I am talking anyone that paid part or all of the 225,000(?) Event Store Currency to get the Borg Cube during an event that they released the Borg Cube in, while the Borg Cube was still in the event store.

If the code was the day after the event store closed, or the event store had the Borg Cube at a discount, or the redeem code gave even a consolation prize then it wouldn't be a big deal. But that it was a massive Chit sink that they nullified during the event itself leaves a feeling of those Chits just vanishing into the ether and being burned on it.

It's about the relevancy of timing. Something even retail stores recognize as they will price match something you bought from them to the sale price if it goes on sale a week or two later from the date you bought it. It's why a redeem code offering nothing for the Borg Cube isn't the problem, people that bought it months ago got months of access out of it- it's that EC Access was given for it and during that Limited Time path they also released a free redeem code.

Hey just wanted to drop some feedback @tidal notch . The FT efficiency is much needed, but I think it missed the mark a little bit. The prime should also cover tier up catalysts as there is a huge sourcing issue with those compared to the cost needed to perform the tier up. Although Sloan helps with this, it's still a function I believe, as well as others, that should be updated and added into the prime and how it works.

The cash grab went too far this month. It's not even Star Trek cash grab, it's just any old tat you could get your hands on. Almost completely ignored the player-base below level 40 and fixed almost none of the really game impacting bugs at all. Typos aren't bug fixes.

Although I generally think f2p games should be supported financially, because developers need to eat too - today I have reached a point where I do not longer think you deserve any support.

The tilting point was your customer support doing anything else than support me on an issue (and basically tell me „Your own fault“), that was beyond obviously caused by the game client just lagging around and doing whatever you didnt tell it to do, and cost my half my lat because your game client is designed to do such stupid things as use lat to buy stuff you already have tons of instead of using whatever is there already.

This is merely the culmination though, it is the way you keep ignoring your players needs and focus on shamelessly milking the cow with dishing out piles of half-baked content after another (the list of useless and dead-on-arrival content is a new record and counting), all while setting the bar of game stability so low that honestly anyone with some basic coding lessons, data design classes and a bit knowledge about server hosting (basically anyone with a computer science degree) could have done better - your game stability has set a new low worst possible to compare against. 30 years ago, companies were able to make 2d games that ran 100% percent smooth with 99% less resources, STFC is a laughing stock compared to them.

We have had tons of good and fun players leave the game over your greedy money grab content pushes, and I‘ve had it.

Maybe it is time for a players union and some coordinated spending strikes, because I‘m pretty sure sinking financial numbers is the only language you understand.

They're only meant to spawn in the systems with the skull banner, but instead are replacing faction hostiles as you kill them (this is the bug and being investigated)

What i dont like is the range/power that can pvp against me. I realize this is a pvp game but their is places where pvp has a no holds bar set up already in place tc where any level can hit any level and thats fine. This has always been a known issue. It will populate in any system near you, and Scopely has warned players in the past (not your fault if you haven’t been playing since before that content rolled out). Seems like you need to move your base before doing Q’s Trials. I’m in Cita Laga and never have problems.

No, I had two suggestions: 1, make the GQ content temporary without making permanent changes to the game. The content can largely still exist without being non-Trek. Taking a QoL month to re-skin the officers and ship (which I promise are re-skins of existing officers and ship) and focus on "quality over quantity" followed by a trek-based re-skinned arc. It easily could be redirected to Prodigy content, for example, especially with the mining aspect. 2, scrap it entirely, take a QoL arc, proceed with next arc that is hopefully back to Trek.

Throwing around that devs have been on this for months is meaningless. There are plenty of ideas worked on and scrapped when it doesn't pan out. In the face of weeks of solid hate for this on every social platform STFC posts on, some reconsideration should have been made. People are literally quitting over it. I hardly played yesterday and I'm usually on a lot on arcfall. I also have been getting new ships day one and will not be putting a cent into this one... And I'm not alone. I sincerely hope Scopely sees a relative loss for this (to be clear, they will certainly profit, but less profit than others is considered a loss).
