Y’all have a PC client now, so there is really no excuse for not having a public test realm to catch these bugs before they hit the live servers. What we want is for Scopely to listen to us, and stop releasing broken product, when quality control is a basic principle.

I've played a lot of mobile games over the years, from developers of varying and chequered reputation.

I've never played any game with this kind of track record for issues following every update. This is a level of incompetence and lack of testing I've never seen before on any platform.

And I play pre-release beta testing games almost exclusively on PC.

I've been playing almost a year, this stuff happens every update. The slack is running out.

Scopely has brought in incursions which have me not play for a 24 hour period once each month. I now know how to shut the game off for a whole day. Thanks scopley. You just saved me 8 hours a day and $300 per month.

A) How are these deployment issues STILL a thing after 2+ years?
B) Are your testing/pre-deployment environments virtually identical to production? If not, why not?
C) Why, at this point in this game’s lifecycle, hasn’t there been a push to have a larger pool of beta-testing before major game feature changes like this?….Because this happens literally every time you guys deploy a new game feature/mechanic.

It’s called a sandbox, or public test server. It’s well established, through other games, that players are willing to test new content, if given the opportunity. We’ve been saying this for over a year. Scopley isn’t listening, or they don’t care.

If my memory serves me right this isn’t the first time we’ve had a big new release and in very short order the game has had to be yanked back into maintenance to fix “problems”. Seriously, the updates need to be beta tested fully. I have never in all my 20 plus years of gaming ever known a game to be this flawed. This is why I stopped wasting my gaming budget on this game. I now put it towards a game which deserves investment (albeit limited). As large a company as Scopley is… the product that they are turning out is consistently getting poorer and poorer. The player base is feeling more and more alienated with each passing mess up. A lot of players I know have been mumbling that they may pack the game in… and scopley is just handing out ammo like sweets. Someone from scopley needs to come on here, read the feedback and address us the player. Not the board of directors on some luxury boat somewhere off the Bahamas .

With that said, the DS9 lore is so rich - why add another armada loop? I was really hoping to see Cardasia added as a new fourth major faction. Would be very fun. I am sure we have more in store for future months, but I am leary of another armada loop. Tell the coders I feel for them, and tell the product managers to let the coders fix bugs instead of pressuring them to keep adding new features on top of dirty code they havent had time to clean up.

I had 2 people in my alliance go on a two week work trip and get booted from their alliance due to inactivity; because it’s a TOS violation to give someone else your login info but some folks can’t take personal devices with them. They were an admiral and a commodore.
I’d be okay with the reputation mechanic if the alliance leadership had the ability to restore lost reputation with approval, but my ppl would have been punished for having jobs with this.

I think they are throwing as many bandaids as they can again on the problems. Like they’ve apparently been doing for some time. Just like I think that they don’t keep any sort of backup of prior releases otherwise we’d have a game that’s up right now while they fix the problems on the new release. I also think, actually, no, I know, as someone in software development that one mistake like this means people lose jobs, or should, because there is a level of incompetence that goes beyond an “oops, my bad.” And that in the course of this game this is moment number 3 or 4 like this.
Considering what many players dump into this game there needs to be more public accountability, and unpaid mods, and content creators should start distancing themselves now just for their own sanity because this has no feel of something that’s changing anytime soon.

2. Rules of acquisition
3. dailies, with loot from corresponding activity (mining materials / hitting swarms etc)
4. first battlepass event, plus day one events.
   I for one cannot complete day one events, I would do them in the evening & cannot complete when I'm at work.
   The length of disruption too should also be factored into compensation.

The problems with Patch 46 were predictable

Issues:

• Lag : a fancy word for servers cannot keep up with the load. This started to be a problem in Territory Captures and Server Mergers, and most recently Incursions. Scopely keeps making code changes that don’t address underlying throughput and stability issues.
• The development focus continues to be on new features instead of stabilizing the existing code base.
  - Each new feature is increasing the number of currencies and resources that must be managed and loaded by the app and that makes lag worse.
  - Reduce the number of resources/currencies.
• It seems like Scopely developers are free to change any functionality they do not like. In the past month changes were made in the code that moves your view to a new system (eg search coordinates, select system, and Go or select ship then Locate) it used to be that the act of switching systems did not affect zoom. Now the app selects a standard zoom setting. Since this setting is not useful to me on an iPhone, the first action I take is to zoom out. Unfortunately, Zoom Out seems to crash the app about 50% of the time after changing systems. I can’t imagine this was tested and if it was, I can’t imagine that the developers thought this was acceptable
• It seems like one of the ways Scopely has attempted to slow things down is to delay responses. One of my standard use cases is to task a ship to attack a hostile and then check on something else like a miner or an Event result. Lately, I have noticed that when I return to check on my hostile attack, the attack has not been completed and the app completes the delayed action while I am watching. This is not an acceptable solution to a throughput problem
• Every time Scopely introduces new functionality, they introduce new time consuming grinds and don’t remove or shorten existing ones. I am maxed out. I have no more grind time

The arc launch was horrible, the bugs still exist and are sometimes even worse than before, no reaction to any feedback given and an overall lack of Content of this arc.

Big exodus on server 153 today. Many long-time players and good spenders quit today. Not only because of the bugs, but mainly due to the ever increasing time needed to hold up with the game. Too many events, too many ressources, too much new mechanics (Mantis) that make previous achievements useless.

I am over this arc and it’s barely just started. Couldn’t finish faction hunt bc the game broke, annoying but whatever. But people spent actual $ pursuing the USS Terror SLB bc they were told they had until reset today to do it, only to find themselves locked out of the game today and unable to keep working on it — and oh by the way, here’s a new loop that uses (wait for it) armada directives. Can’t get my USS Terror AND don’t have all those rare directives. Thanks Scopely 😡

This is what ops 40+ gets.... It's absolutely hot garbage to anyone lower. If it can't be scaled properly, it should be equal then.... It's not even an insult, it's a message that they just don't care if you aren't above 40 and they're not afraid of us quitting

Where's the Officer XP in the maintenance chest Scopely? Faction hunt is the best way to build officer XP each month, and with slapping Incursions and a Maintenance debacle, it ruined this month for officer advancement. And it would also make more sense to put APAC on the Friday (which is Sat our local time), EU on a Sat, and US on a Sunday, so all regions can do incursions on a weekend and fully participate. Way things are going there are going to be lots of rats jumping off ships as this game is sinking fast.
