hey guys, need a mod that adds just 5 to 10 kg to carry weight. Also that works with better ballistics mod and doesn't break mutant looting option
What did they update
I swear u can just get liek an artifact that does that
No need for mods
Did the artifacts in your suit not solving the weight problem enough? Just thinking, Im capable of 115kg, what do you want to carry alltogether??
Nothing
wild that some people are still here just hating on the game like 8 months later
on the one hand it's kinda admirable, on the other, man you don't have a lot going on in your life huh
We hate because we want the game to improve
not talking about you
people who are actually capable of criticism I don't really have a problem with
I mean I don't have a problem with anyone, just kinda sad that there's people who for the better part of a year seem to just frequently be like "graa this game shit"
gotta be tough that something you hate so much lives rent free in your head day in and day out
My day isn’t full filled with out my daily glass of hateraid
Stop hating, send love ❤️
Give us something, Mol1t!

How much of the four stalker games am I missing out on because I don’t speak Russian? People having conversations etc
Stalker games take place in ukraine. At least in stalker 2 the dub is in ukranian
the reply is however, not much, because most of this audio is subtitled (and translated, if playing with english subtitles)
Oh I haven’t been running with subtitles
I think the only bit of spoken dialogue that is only in ukranian and not translated (at least in the original releases) is the ||wish granter|| voice lines at the very end of SoC; but I'm not huge on the original trilogy so I'm probably wrong
Also why do so many bandits spawn near Agroprom in SoC
They’ve genuinely piled up near that big buildings entrance, don’t the bodies ever despawn?
Not much, in the trilogy there's "campfire dialogues" in russian that don't have an dub to other languages.
and not much more, just that and perhaps a couple things more, like some "combat dialogues".
Oh well, they add a lot to the game imo but they aren’t story important so it’s fine
why hasnt there been any new mods lately for console?
I think they are subject to manual approval from GSC
hi everyone, did they add shader compilation skip to stealth 2?
are mods really necessary?
im running unmodded right now and im kind of hoping its not needed because idk how well linux modding for this game could be
I mean they improve the game between "a little" and "holy shit", depending on how much you wanna push it
improve? as in performance or qol? like being able to wait to a certain time etc
not much performance wise honestly
i mean, im already getting 400fps so performance isnt an issue 😆
but for example there's one that translates the graffitti into english, which is huge
i did have two crashes within three minutes
but thats fine, it was something weird thats not super repeatable, i was looting a bandage whilst being shot at
stalker unlimited for example revamps a lot of the stash and gear system so resources are more scarce, which is one of the biggest gripes I have with s2 in general
id like to experience the game how the devs meant it to be before i start improving it
if you don't dislike the game then that's fair.
its been alright, im a little lost story wise but i think im picking it up
ive just found streloks stash so i need to find this guy named ghost? I'm guessing Strelok went further north, I need to get some documents from a lab in the east
but about the background of the lore im not too certain, i know there was a second chernobyl explosion but idk why its spawning all these artefacts and anomolies
maybe not necessary but spend enough time in the game and you'll start to want more out of it
thats true, its only my first playthrough though. but from my time with fallout i know that without mods theres only so much i can play (except fallout new vegas actually, i just use performance mods)
16 hours playing the game idk how people have hundreds of hours, mods must be good because at a certain point you've explored every inch of the map
the original trilogy has a huge mod scene that basically turns the games into free roam milsim single player games
with radial quests and all that, all underpinned by the reputation system and a-life systems
in 2 it's not as crazy yet, but oxa prototype and a free play mod is already a step in the direction of gamma et al.
where do people find mods? i couldnt really find any except like two on moddb
for the og trilogy? it's mostly on moddb yes, though maybe there's a nexus now
It's about the atmosphere for many, just existing in the world is an ongoing experience more rewarding with the right mods
the nexus was scarce
anomaly has its own page and nexus
mods can be ran directly from the files right? any windows only launcher could cause issues (modding fnv took hours to get the launcher running)
(anomaly is like, the biggest mod base in the og trilogy, I think gamma is a submod of anomaly)
again, this is the stalker 2 channel but if you're interested in modding stalker 1 there's both the dedicated channel in this discord to begin with, but also dedicated og trilogy modding discords
trilogy discussion dead rn 💔 and i just typed stalker in the add a server thing and got here
they are understandably quieter than the stalker 2 channel yes
i thought people didn't like stalker 2 though
plenty of people don't
im gunna spend so many hours of my life for my new thing im doing im like 2% done with
collecting every artifact that isnt arch or quest bound... which is like over 40 i think...
people are waiting for the game they were originally promised
I like Stalker 2
I wish you all a good day be well
Oh today is going to be a good day alright.
Thank you, Herrr doctor^^
Thats also a cool game, but suspended it longer time ago
why havent any new mods been uploaded for a while?
Hey friends! Does anybody knows any news about patch 1.6 and Q3 roadmap?
no
Still in front of us on this particular time-line
welp, game crashes randomly

does this on certain saves, but the most bizarre thing is that if I roll back some earlier manual saves (which for some reason do actually load) and then once the game is actually loaded I go and load the very same saves that were crashing earlier, it works
probably mod related
I'd try disabling whatever you have that needs ue4ss and see if the crashes reproduce, since it's mentioned in the crash report to begin with
tried that already. I only have OXA Prototype (added this on the very last run https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/7?tab=files&file_id=9193 because looking for this error had someone link it as a possible fix), and I tried a vanilla save and it was also crashing
guys, I am afraid to ask, but we almost at the half of Q3 and no roadmap
yeah, such a shame. They really couldn't figure out whats their plan for this quarter?
truly tragic
Lmao
Lets GO
so ready for this to drop on ps5 pro
Mod related had same problem few days back uninstalled that mod ran again it ran
Stashes rework
Try to go to paks and dont unisntall 118 gb and 2gb+ folder but uninstall small small files if u cant find which mod and then press repair on steam or xbox @mellow yew will work like charm
Not even an hour later lol, probably the closest we'll get to one
Why not upgrading to unreal 5.6? Weird
don't worry guys maybe they will finish the game next year
Are we just not getting multi-player now? That was like half the reason I bought it
Probably would require a lot more work than this if I had to guess, though I also wouldn't be surprised if they had already started upgrading to 5.5.4 at the time 5.6 released
Roadmap announced, yay!
Apparently the latest version of Unreal Engine 5 has much better performance with open worlds. Is the perfect moment to bring the game to this version. Oh well
Reason: Bad word usage
Well they probably wanna get the base game working first as much as possible, multiplayer at this stage would be a whole other variable to just throw in there. Though considering it's probably just some PvP modes they probably would rather focus on the main singleplayer for the game first
lol can't say a bad word in a chat about a game with drinking, stealing, and murdering
why would you buy stalker 2 for what will most likely just be the same terrible pvp they made before
if you want to play co-op stalker then go play the xrmpe mod for CoP
way better game than S2 anyway
there's apparently a multiplayer mod floating around
you could try that (can't vouch for if/how it works)
That is crazy
I honestly wouldn't expect gsc to pull even half that list in less than 4 months but hey, we'll see
x-ray multiplayer extension mod for CoP works great. Only annoying thing is the host has to open ports, or host via some tunnel service.
I heard that it was better in areas though the biggest improvements talked about were for 5.7, 5.6 is an improvement for sure but might not be worth it compared to the amount of things it could break, especially with where the current state of the game is
ue 5.5 is already like, spectacularly good news
What version is the game on right now?
so good in fact that I'm thinking stopping this playthrough and waiting until that to continue playing
game right now works on a custom fork of 5.1, which is why it's performance is so abysmal
.1 iirc
what do you mean
In announcements
Ah that would make sense
if the performance gains are anywhere close to what nightingale saw, it basically means being able to actually run the game at 60 fps with anything below at 5800x3d
GSC
They were in the process of upgrading before 5.6 came out
Our main mission in the near future is upgrading the game to Unreal Engine 5.5.4. This will bring new features and tools to make the Zone an even better place, but more importantly — bringing the latest Unreal Engine 5 optimizations will lead to better stability and performance.
is this the truth?
will it really run better on current gen?
engine upgraded is huge, totally unexpected!
It should
"@grok is this true?"
They were talking about it even before release
It should run better
I'm not a dev, but from my understanding there has been a lot of optimizations in later UE versions. Idk how that translates to actual game performance
main performance hog right now seems to be NPC AI
It's not going to be a massive important, but it is still one nonetheless
Hopefully we can get hardware rt after the engine update
I just wanted to say thanks @azure nimbus for adding the mod browser for the xbox app. I've been hesitant on buying the game on steam as well since I have over 200+ hours on the xbox app.
I've bought Stalker 2 a few months ago and been waiting on updates to start playing, is 1.6 patch good enough or what they are brining in with the roadmap is worth the wait?
to my understanding hardware-accelerated Lumen becomes viable only at 5.6
Well apparently the game is currently on 5.1, so jumping to 5.5.4 should help I'd hope
It's fun for me, and with the continued support its only going to get better.
okay, thanks
seems like a big jump tbf
It is definitely a big jump, these versions are around 2-3 years apart
from other games that have done similar ports, the performance gains are absolutely spectacular
it's not that 5.1 is old, it's that it's shit and old
Any other games to compare it to with the jump?
nightingale ran like aggressive ass on launch, and it was 5.0 or 5.1
now it runs incredible (ported to 5.4 iirc)
Well then this is excitin, though only time will tell I suppose
of course it's no guarantee, but I would expect a sizeable improvement on performance just off how much more optimized the lighting system is
Yeah shouldn't set high expectations or anything, but at the very least if done right it should be noticeably better
Performance differences depend on the game I expect a 10% improvement
I would expect, no kidding, about double the FPS in hubs and maybe 20 extra FPS baseline across all current benchmarks
which sounds like a lot if you don't consider that the game right now runs like butt
aye
as someone playing on launch day, I can be a witness
Ah, back in the day when stalkers would walk around while pissing
And aiming with a controller was locked in only 8 directions
oh my god I was not in a million years expecting an engine update I thought that'd be way too much work
holy heck
that's gonna give S2 so much opportunity to have way better A-Life and NPC spawn counts once the engine update improves stability and performance 🤤
im wondering if we get a patch before december 🤔
I mean we'll get a patch for sure
I honestly wouldn't expect half the announced updates before the end of the year, but we'll surely get some of them.
I feel like your expectations are a bit high
Especially for hub performance
GSC have non-stop dropped major patches regularly since release, I don't see why they would stop. Though there may be a bit of a pause for now as they work on this engine update. I'm still floored they're doing that at all
depends how the game is made but I've seen similar gains on nightingale firsthand.
Hey guys does it matter from who I will get to know about clear sky?
it all depends though yeah, and yeah, my expectations are on the optimistic side.
That game probably also had a bunch of new optimisations done alongside the new engine update
Its from quest to find a pathfinder
maybe they're high, but this video showed UE 5.6 does have absolutely huge performance gains: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOb4b1Y-Mw8
15-20% alone just updating the engine and I imagine GSC will take that as a chance to again tackle optimization/performance overall for S2 specifically
That's for 5.6
The game is being updated to 5.5.4
Although, we could see a similar jump or more because it is on a much older version than 5.4
yeah from what I can see on Reddit, supposedly S2 is running on a customised 5.1
I'm still being wildly optimistic about being able to run this game at 60fps on an am4 rig.
so UE engine version jumping up .4 versions, I imagine that'll be a significant improvement
im nearly there witha 5800x3d. Only offenders really are busy hubs like rostok
What are the chances we see the spawn bubble increase to 150m-200m after engine update?
I meant with anything below the absolute bleeding edge that socket can afford but yeah
it feels like to me they have prioritized the engine upgrade directly to help with the A-Life situation given A-Life is right after the engine update
like - see how they listed Binoculars and NVGs? They won't be particularly cool or fun to use if they just make you see enemies popping in the distance. Unless... they are also going to fix spawn distance
I mean it is a huge undertaking but it had to be done. Technically speaking, it is an anchor around this game's neck.
sure, I just figured they'd be like 'can't do that too much work'
very very pleasently surprised they can, in fact, do that. I honestly feel like consoles are holding them back too because they have to make sure they have all these new features whilst running well across all platforms
if they could develop for PC only, I think it'd be a very different story
they should have held back on the announcement and just dropped it all casual like
maybe they're trying to get the engine update done for PS5 launch?
tbh I feel like they've been a bit radio silent on updates/taken longer than usual so I think it was just right timing
I wouldn't be surprised that they would have already working on 5.5 since the ps5 announcement yeah
I'm praying for 5.6, 5.6 in itself has huge performance gains idk why they wouldn't just jump to that if they're doing a full blown engine upgrade already
but maybe not, I work in IT I know what a pain system upgrades can be
even going from Obsolete Version to Slightly Less Obsolete Version can be difficult
its because they were probably already working on it before the announcement. Announcement was probably delayed because they were still scoping out the upgrade to see if it was feasible for this year
I used to pray for times likes this…
does anyone have the full artwork for stalker soc's banner? its the green one with the stalker holding a rifle
if anyone does, please dm it to me i cant find it online
A roadmap. A roadmap has been released. In the year of our Lord 2025.
We are truly blessed by the Monolith
how much gain are we talking about
it's like going from benching 225 lbs to 260 lbs
huge gains bro
make sure to drink your pre-STALKER shake
I sure hope they are there xd, hug dev effort for +5% does not make sense
I would think newer UE5 also just expands their dev toolkit to add more refinements and whatnot
the version they were on before was a hot-trash dumpster fire
I was wondering "wait... why not 5.6? why 5.5.4...." after realizing that 5.6 is the latest version thinking 5.5.4 was the latest
they've probably been working on the port over for a while now
Have you ever heard of portma
they are targeting a 5.5.4 release before the end of the year among a buttload more updates so I would bet they're already pretty advanced on the porting
only heard of portdeez
5.6 is effectively the bleeding edge - the game already have enough bugs and instability to bring even more in.
There is a good reason 5.5.4 has .4 at the end

the scope of work has to be at limited if they indeed want to hit the milestones they set
ah
actual acceptable performance within 3 months would be craycray imma be honest
It is probable they have been considering an engine update and began putting the work in for it some time ago to be fair
I think S2 originally began on UE4 even before porting to 5
I'll give em some slack on that
I am really mad I laughed
Maybe they could update to 5.6 later on who knows
yeahh they ditched 4 for a custom fork of 5.1 of all things
S2 getting the No Man's Sky treatment would be beautiful
I mean it already is, they've patched it non-stop since release, DLCs + multiplayer on the way, that huge roadmap
We're already witnessing a NMS treatment, they've consistently stuck with their word of updating + responding to player feedback since launch
it's also to be considered the circumstances of the game's development and release
Dunno if I'd go that far, NMS is literally unrecognizable from what it came out as, but yeah, S2 has improved a ton
And that's factoring in like a decade of work on NMS
S2 has just started really in its postlaunch building phases
there's a ton of things in s2 that are the way they are due to the uh... exceptional circumstances happening during the later part of its development
like, the alife situation has been admitted by gsc being like "yeah none of this works so let's nix it up to wherever it does"
ALIFE MENTIONED TIME TO RANT
Not sure I follow the comment about the 118 and 2gb folder, could you clarify? Thanks in advance
Hi, guys. Have anyone met issue with 20 fps with CPU and GPU underloaded not more than 30-35%?
I just hope I get the floating artifact lamp edition before I die
If you are referring to that happening on hubs then yeah, hubs in particular are very cpu heavy.
No, lesser zone. And it's not about being CPU heavy, it's about CPU being barely loaded.
oh okay I reread it, you are 30% ish on both
Wait. Is this the unreal update everyone was saying was not going to happen?
ig i wasted money since ive bought 9800x3d just for stalker 2 since anything below that and game runs very badly cuz of 5.4 switch it will be abit easier on cpu likely
I feel a little irritated. Bought on release, waited for 9 months till "tweaks and fixes", downloaded again....and it's not good yet.
It is a massive undertaking and something I would not blame anyone thinking the devs wouldn't bother with.
but, looks like it's happening
well the game is just unplayable for 95% of people so kinda have to
not rlly its cpu heavy 5800x3d compared to 9800x3d is like double the performance also no game uses 100% of a cpu that's 6 cores or higher
not true. Veilguard rapes CPU till TJMax
yeah yeah but he has light loads on both and really bad fps
I hate how the game released in Early Access like this but acted like it was a full release.
I misread his initial statement, thought he said he was light on gpu only
gpu usage is the problem and u can fix that by getting either 7800x3d 9800x3d or any top 3 cpus or wait till 5.4
cuz gpu usage is low only because cpu cant rlly do anything
in the case of both I have no idea what could be the problem tbh
my game alternates between being cpu bound and gpu bound lmao
can't catch a break
for me it was almost always cpu bound and i had 5800x3d which was never bound in any game i played
Well, I guess it's wrong phase of the moon then
still doesnt run that great but at least it's over 50 fps now
yeah 5800x3d can kinda cut it but otherwise game can't reach 60 on an am4
yea which is sad even grayzone warfare runs better which has more detail minus the npc part
ue5.1 was a very very bad time to develop a game tbh
yea i think grayzone uses newer ue idk which one tho
you did not do a good job of praying
whichever it is, they want to upgrade it to 5.6 by looking at the news
also weird thing is how gsc hasnt taken down mods and modpacks like anomaly eft gamma etc since theyre including base game assets and alot of gameplay features from paid games for free within their packs
its a good thing but idk most studios would do it cuz loss of income
the original stalker games were in a kinda fucky place copyright wise as far as I understand it
ah
idk where it sits now that they've rereleased the original trilogy though.
its definition of piracy but they seem to be fine w it which is a very good thing ofc but also every other team would not let those mods exist
but the original gsc closed down after releasing the stalker trilogy and was kinda reformed to make 2
but then alot of ppl probs got exposed to stalker IP through those free experiences
mods like these are within GSCs modding guidelines
however yes Anomaly and Gamma should be removed bc they are bad
probs woudnt be a good thing since people wont be too happy, its been normalised for ages
they should just require u to have purchased previous 3 games removing em is gonna do no good at all and if anything ppl will iust reviewbomb cuz anomaly mods arent exactly small especially gamma having 100 of thousands of people
their files should be burned in consecrated fire and their developers lashed until they confess their sins
this is the only way to right the wrongs of the unfaithful

reinstalling it has apparently done the trick
have mods gotten better since zone kit came out or unofficial mods from nexus are still better that dont use z kit
there's a lot of crossover between workshop, the official page and nexus
dam
but I don't see much point in not using nexus personally.
no, its gotten worse
grim eve

just think this:
Since 2012 (Death of GSC🪦 ) there began to be many standalone mods, until there the resurrection of GSC in 2014 by Sergey Grigorovich, and after, until now in the "Maxim Krippa era".
Hundreds of mods on dozens of mod pages, russian, ucranians, english, polish pages, and more, and even the devs take inspirations from some mods, and even GSC had "some ex-modders" in their team [Source:
Stalker 2 developer interview: Console mods confirmed! by Radio Times Gaming, 4:23].
Just don't must there's any EE standalone mod, same case with HoC.
I lowkey wanna stop playing and save myself for the engine update
but I've already clocked in 100 hours in the game and the furthest I've made it is right after ||sircaa|| lmao
kinda need to lock in and at least finish it once
i c
gud boy.
standalones were a thing even before 2014
console mods might be mid tho since some games limit mods on pc if they are on console essentially censoring em
as I said before standalone mods are supported and protected by GSC under their guidelines, as long as you make it clear its not the OG game and you link the OG
yes but they're console players so who cares
yes, since 2012-2014 the standalone mods of stalker increased in great quantities.
its consoles so they deserved what they got
yea but shoudnt drag down quality of pc mods
the OGs are still on steam, you get them with a purchase of the bad editions
plus all new standalone mods use a bespoke engine derivative of Xray which is allowed under GSCs guidelines
EE will never have his great OGSE-EE
it didnt get dragged down considering the PC Mods dont even use the stock engine anymore
na but i mean mods that are on console
if they will use modio for console mods pc mods might get worse as a result of that
i dont think that will be the case... skyrim has both console and pc only mods no?
the visual skins?
its a good thing, Im afraid a good implementation would be too much for those savages, this way, they can get an inferior version
everybody wins

yea but some games chose to have only console mods that are also for pc
and consoles cant rlly do much so pc experience just gets worse
When u go to paks file i once accidentally deleted the whole game , the 118 gb and 2 gb folder are main game asset do not delete them
Stalker 2 contents paks something like that thats where mods are stored
im expecting that a lot of them will
all mods for ghe old version wont work for the new version this has been happening since the begining
remember
Point of No Return it's in danger
What they are swapping engine? To which engine
delete tour mods before updating
from .1 to .5.4
from UE5.1 GSC to 5.5.4 (GSC tho).
'cause 5.6 just came out
bc it came out a month ago, the team was already working on 5.5.4 when 5.6 came out
the road to 5.6 remains open however
they probably have been working on the port for a while, so it's 5.5.4
5.5.4
also after the gigantic clusterfuck that was moving from 4 to an untested 5.1, I will be all for gsc never ever taking a gamble on engines ever again
at that point shouda used roblox to make their game
godot
atleast it will run over 50 fps on a 2 grand pc
game maker 🥶 and godot
if they used godot half the team would've gone crazy since the engine sucks so much
even worse than ue, if I may
is 5.4 to 5.6 even a huge jump in performance gain or
GSC should've release Stalker 2 in 2012 with the plot by Ruslan Didenko, best scenario by far together "HoC without a lot of inconsistences in plot with the trilogy".🙏
templeOS port in godot

5.5 to 5.6, depends
godot is too shit for holy C
Epic Games it's the partner of GSC since 2018.
oh
I mean much as I consider using 5.1 to be an L move, making xray 2 for stalker 2 would not have been a sustainable move
bc xray is a engine crom 2007, filled with tech debt, that would require half a decade of a professional team with a clear and concise goal to take it to the new age
it is not worth it
Pure speculation as to why... but its much easier to use something like UE compared to a 10year+ old custom engine. Especially considering its a new dev team, it makes sense to have a normalized engine to work with
the only reason source was worth it is because it was made by valve
Valve has the experience working with their custom source engine. The current S2 devs do not have experience with x-ray
you can count the games made in source on the fingers of one hand
makes more sense, i thought the core team is mostly the same from before
Will take a year at least
and, until early 2022 GSC just had like 30 devs working on stalker 2, apart of that, HoC it's very-very-very ambitious.
source , its predecessor and successors has been continuously updated by the same professionals and their students for 30 years
it had a good base to begin with and none of its worst aspects were that bad
Xray is not this
its completely diff
afaik its mostly new devs, with one or two from the old team holding creative/director positions
ah i c
and ig most devs know ue and unity compared to trying them to use some inhouse engine
you could hire actual soft engeniers as opposed to code monkeys but 🤷
ue makes it easy and I'm sure you get economic incentives from epic
well if ure a somewhat known dev team yea
yes, its just easier. You can try and justify a custom engine but theres a reason not many people do it these days
tbf
in the case of Stalker 2, yes.
many ppl get suckered into making their own engine anyways when they choose to use Godot so

right?
theres a reason why CD project red is not using redengine for witcher 4
idk why cuz that engine was good
yea, bc they became american
once you godot you godon't godot back
its easier and better to start off from scratch than to try and fork godot
red engine had everything that seemed good and performance was also good not at launch ofc
redengine was something they built and had to maintain for several years after their initial cp2077 release. Im sure they got incentives by nvidia to do so, but Im guessing they got burnt out from all of it
yea cp2077 seemed like tech demo for nvidia features
not in a bad way but as in it always got nvidia features very early
redengine was a product of the hype delirium that cdpr needs to constantly generate
i think only somewhat big team from eu or poland that use their own engine is techland
which i kinda hope they stick w cuz its a good engine
darktide also works in some kinda fucky hipster engine but it's not inhouse
its forked from some dead engine
they have to update it manually since the engine doesnt get updates anymore helldivers also use darktides engine
and remedy uses northlight too
idk how they can do their own engine
the team isnt that massive so
also saber / focus games use swarm engine mostly which is kinda fire
The engine update they are planning will be the most ambitious update pulled if coming in 2025
More ambitious than any update they gave so far
It can provide 5-30% performance gain theoretical (5% is for low end graphics card like 1650 and 3050)
If they ever gonna upgrade from 5.5.6 to 5.6 later then it wont take that long due but 5 to 5.6 is a huge jump
ofc
the important thing is pulling the game off the shit-caked rut that is 5.1
i would refund my pc parts if i knew this would happen cuz i only spent 700 euro on a pc rebuild cuz of this game mostly
well hd2 and space marine 2 also didnt run that well but still mostly upraded cuz this game wasnt playable 😩
Wait my bad its 5.5.4 i mess up numbers sorry
I've been standing strong but yeah every time I've been attacked by a pack of snorks at 40 fps I won't lie, the idea to spend outrageous amounts of money for better performance has occasionally crossed my mind
yea well i alr had decent gpu etc but had to rebuild basically the whole pc cuz i was on am4 so needed new board ram cpu etc
I have no doubt in my mind that 5.5 will get the game over the 60 fps barrier for me, at least outside of hubs
was gonna do it eventually but i never had plans to go with 9800x3d more like 7700x or smth 😂
Valorant recently switched to ue5 and they literally cut down half the size while keeping same performance (but that game graphics are cartoon)
yeah my next upgrade will probably be a prebuit am5 just to try and take advantage of scale production, 'cause it's gonna have to be a full rebuild except for maybe the psu and the case
yea even outside of hubs ive had aslow as 40 fps if theres aton of enemy ai around me with 4070 5800x3d pc
most important will be that more functions fixed lighting and everything else
and this is on every type of setting high or low, dlss quality or dlaa etc its all same shit 😂
I get 40 fps on medium rn without frame gen
yeah that's something weird I noticed, settings have really little impact on performance
ofc no framegen cuz id rather sell my family and move to north korea than use framegen
Also excited about what they said of quest from old friends some zones in this game really feel dead and empty
I used to run all high, succumbed to medium preset, and I mean, I guess someone would be able to tell side by side but
The input delay is insane with frame gen
yea
And the flickering is annoying as well
its only ever useful if u get like 100 fps then delay is minimal but id rather just play on 100 fps at that point 😂
framegen should never be used under a solid 70 fps
the fact that some developers are crutching on framegen to just reach 60 is insane to me
id say min like 80 or 90
I think even above those fps it will give input delay but i have never tried it
Monhun wilds
if its a controller based game like forza etc or u play with controller its fine on 60 fps since its harder to feel delay on controller compared to mouse
bullseye
yea but not too much still woudnt use it for fps games
i use it on forza cuz i cant tell the difference between framegen on and off, but then i also get like 150 fps in forza to begin with so
I think they might also drop hardware ray tracing if they are giving 5.5.4
good
Hardware ray tracing might optimize cpu load
I hope so
Lumen kinda goofy looking
It looks obnoxious in sircaa otherwise i dont have problem with it
if they use hardware well would be abit bad since would have to rely on dlss
Apart from that exposure
I personally hate lumen, but am afraid I'm mostly only familiar with 5.1 lumen
They csn provide option like oblivion remastered
so maybe I'm biased like that
have rt and raster
Same , but witcher 4 tech demo looked cool as hell
My game's lighting keeps breaking and turning the sky into a red mess and everything looks orange as if i was outside during an emission
I think traditional baked lighting was best
lumen is still like experimental tech because of how unoptimized it is yet devs still use it without even an alternative in some cases
Ray tracing and path tracing are also heavy
should do what kindom come deliverence 2 did having lumen or rt optional and main lighting is rasterised etc
Kcd 2 idk what drugs the devs consumed to make it run that good
yea should be fully optional
i dont think it shoudnt be used just not forced cuz then 90% of people cant even play the game 😂
That game ran smooth in my pc and its graphics were better than rdr2
uses ue5 or?
cuz ive seen it and it looks very good 😩
Idk it uses some engine used by crysis 2
Its not ue5
oh that probs makes sense then
Cryengine
Cryengine
thats still a thing 💀
but the modding support is weak in that game
Not as good as skyrim had u can just add place replace objects
U cant create war like scenario with 400 people or each side lol
ppl will find a way to mod it
if thats skyrim idk cuz i never played any of bethesdas games
except doom which doesnt count since thats id software's
and abit of fallout 76 but thats bout it
Someone literally made a game inside skyrim with completely different world its called endreal thats how insane modding is

And visual remasters combat animations it is literally a game engine now lol
its like on par with arma mods
yeah definitely probably more than that cuz u can even change lighting
not minecraft cuz that is just unbeatable no game is gonna be asgood
u cant do lighting changes in arma?
seems like a very simple thing to do but then im not a modder so
I remember once i downloaded some industry mod in minecraft and didnt understand anything
Lighting change in arma? Im not sure but i think skyrim has more modding capability since u can change even ur hair , bodu proportion its just insane
ah i c
probs hard to comparte unless ure familiar with arma and skyrim modding since they are so close
If i remember dayZ was just a modded arma 2 then made different game so its also really strong but i dont hear much crazy projects from arma 3 apart from adding new jets and stuff
Hyped for arma 4 though, arma reforger is already so cool
but not good to the point where u can make a new game from
arma birthed two of the biggest trends in gaming in the last few years, it's kinda crazy
ye
first it was dayz, from dayz also developed battle royale games
and it was also a big hotbed for the milsimmy stuff that eventually developed into extraction games (though you can argue anomaly did coopt into that development)
I never understood why we didnt got any modern dayZ type of survival game with depth of project zomboid
well if anything 1st br type mode or game was minecraft hunger games
cuz its very hard t do ofc
Someone had created a trump assasination mod in arma 3 day after it happened
so far decent attempt ive seen was once human which is kinda ruined cuz of skins etc
.
why havent any new mods come out on console in awhile?
new roadmap, but still no news on the multiplayer...
See this is why we shouldn't let the console peasants have mods at all
Now they have a taste of a better life
Yes but that’s apparently gonna change soon
Hell yeah
Glad you see what I see now haha
THE SHINING WILL COME
You might be the only Stalker waiting for MP
there's a few
For the few not the many
I wish you all a good day be well
As it was written
Next there gonna tell me I’ll finally be paid
Discord nitro for mods when
They will pay us in gift cards
Every month they will give us a 50 dollar steam gift card
Idk, if mol1t offers us fifty dollar steam giftcards I'm gonna be skeptical
Dang
Beat me to the joke lol
Joever
a copy of SOC, every month
Have there been any official updates on the multiplayer and single player DLCs? I am absolutely not clamoring for either lol, performance/optimization + base gameplay improvement is much more important right now IMO, just curious if that is still on the backburner
I worry a year from now they'll be like "nvm" about multiplayer like cyberpunk was
I don't think they ever properly tried to do multiplayer in the previous Stalkers so would be v cool to see how they do it. Co-op? General DM/TDM/CoD-style multiplayer? Keen to see what they come up with
there's no mention of multiplayer and probably not going to be co-op
the first trilogy had it as a TDM kinda side mode, probably will be something more akin to that
looks like it'll be DM/TDM style - https://www.thegamer.com/stalker-2-multiplayer-update/
fair enough really, I get how co-op would kind of ruin the desolate atmosphere they're trying to go for
I'm sure modders will add it anyway even if they don't want to
there's a multiplayer mod that's been out since december
haven't tried it myself but it works, if going by the comments in the github
while im thristing for story dlc i can see the fact people are straight up hardware banned as an legit issue taking priority.
in a perfect world i would like both implemented in hast.
it's wild to see a developer actually acknowledge when their game runs like ass
I feel like for the last few years now developers try to gaslight their audience when it comes to performance
Wilds needs framegen to reach 60 fps on anything below a 5070ti
Capcom: "have you tried to turn it off and on again?"
"look, we're giving you 9 star quests!"
i feel its more of a:
feeling pressured to be always better.
looks etc.
you cant shove the prettiest open world in terms of looks imo into the game and then also expect low end hardware to run it well.
i know the lower end is one of the biggest markets but you cant have your cake and eat it too.
not out of the box atleast.
i feel we are running into the old cpu clocking debate: just because it can run 6ghz out of the box doesnt mean its better.
You can make a game that works well on a variety of hardware, but it requires QA and fine tuning.
also I'm not saying they should ensure their software runs on a pentium 2, but right now there's a whole buncha games that require 4 figure gpus to run somewhat acceptably
like, stalker 2 right now can't run 60 fps stable on anything below a 5800x3d
that is not acceptable for a game released on 2025
TBF, its runs ok on for exsample 3060ti's.
That is what I would consider lowend at this point in time.
Low to medium settings you will hit 60fps most of the time.
and to the cpu, yeah im guilty of that, but x3d gpus are being widely more accessible.
i have no frame of reference there, i only upgraded my gpu personally.
my brother in christ, I'm running a 5060ti and the game cannot keep 60 fps
even on areas where cpu is not a problem, you cannot run this game in medium, 1440p, at a stable 60 on like, 90% of the areas.
It's probably your CPU then. I have a 4070 and I'm running 60fps native on high setting with Ultra+
in that case idk what to tell you, apprently my x3d did the heavy lifting.
With dlss on quality tho
but this is what I'm talking about when I say performance problems
But no frame Gen
if yah on intel idk what too tell you, amd made it seem that shoving more cache into your cpu doesnt seem to hard.
like, I'm not saying the game should be guaranteed to run on any computer built in the last 10 years, but it is good to see developers acknowledge when a game needs optimization
I'm on a 5600x
the fact that stalker 2 will drop to 30 fps routinely on hubs regardless of the settings is what I would call "wack-ass performance"
oof, yeah its a fact that the 3d chache can lift performance by up to 30ish% ignoring cores
Yeah it's CPU
I was bound to 40 FPS on a 7900X
thats not a gme issue thou, thats been a fact for 2-3 years
to me it alternates. Some areas I'm being choked CPU wise, others GPU wise.
regardless, the game runs at an average of maybe 45 fps for me, so I am happy to see that gsc is like "yeah we need to priotitize upping those numbers"
capcom has released a game that can't run well on like 80% of the computers out there and they're like "look! new monster" instead
if it gives you ANY solice my 5800x3d and 5070 nose dived from 80 non fg to 25 in bossfights.
and my latency is abhorrend
the drops are ESP bad after the PONR
5800x3d is on the edge of what could be considered acceptable performance, but this game still has one hell of a time on anything am4
the reason i went to that cpu was because i wanted to push am4 to the limit without upgrading.
am4 has one foot in the grave as grim as that sounds
the motherboards mostly suck, and its been dead as a platform for idk 3years?
them rehashing x3d chips to there to squeeze the last bit of life out am4 is not helping
am4 is already two feet two hands and a head inside the grave
I don't want to upgrade because even if I had access to a 5800x3d, it's better value to upgrade to am5 come a year or two from now
will try to hold out until I can get a prebuit once the new generation of cards come out
i would srsly consider buying a used 57/800x3d in general.
that or hard upgrade to am5.
i will run my 5800 into the f ground personally.
its really just about the chache, the rest is a non issue for now
my point is, it's good that UE5 is getting loads more performance affordability and developers are willing to port their awfully running games over
with ue5.5 and beyond, being able to run a game okay on an am4 is potentially viable again
given enough games people will HOPEFULLY be able to actually use the engine as they should.
the reason inhouse runs usually better is because they know how to poke it.
im sure given time gsc will get there.
Bro i have r7 5700x3d and i almost upgraded to am5 bcs i tought my cpu is ass...
Thing is all am4 v cache cpus are now out of production
They finally turned off the supply
even if am4s were available, I don't think upgrading on an am4 makes sense
I mean if they were like half the price, okay
Well used prices for 5700x3d and 5800x3d are now more than a 7800x3d
So it makes little sense now
Not to mention Samsung stopped production of ddr4
Finally? What do you want to say? That 5700x3d is bad?
No
I’m saying that because they had kept making them for really long time after am5
it's not bad, but it's discontinued and expensive for what it is
and it'll be obsolete sooner rather than later
eBay scalpers massive inflated the price making it basically worthless now
Yeah, but when I bought it two months ago, it was $250, and for me, it wasn't worth buying AM5 and DDR5.
Sure
If I had the choice to get a 5800x3d for 300 bucks or getting a 9070xt am5 prebuit with like a 7800x3d for 1500, I'm taking the latter.
And when it was 250 bux I’d heavily recommend it
In my country its still ~250€
Well shit bruh
You can still get it for 250 bux

yeah I can see it for 250ish
still think getting an am5 prebuit is the smarter choice
unless you're 1 grand short, in which case wtf are you doing looking at computers lol
Pre built are lame
MAKE IT YOUR SELF

True
Go find your self an eBay special motherboard
buy a prebuilt, strip it down, build it again
pc fudd cred intact
still can go fishin' with the boys
tellin' em how I had to wrangle the darn SATA 'round the darn PCI so I could make it by the 20 pin but I gave 'er some elbow grease and managed to bypass the data coagulator
spits on ground
prebuilds dont make much sense unless your contrained in loose hardware
like gpus back in covid.
make sense in that you can get the whole thing for cheaper
i would love to know where you get your stuff.
because i personally dont like oem cards
truly tragic
In a world with out fb market place or eBay this might be true

I'm still a couple years away from upgrading. When I have to, I will evaluate my choices
prebuilds NEVER come close to building urself and when it does there is REASONS.
i might aswell have used mayonase as thermal paste when i got my then prebuild 5 years back, wondering how the heck i got 90 degrees.
turns out they might aswell spit on the cpu at that point
but if I had to now, I saw a 7800x3d + 9070xt for 1500€ I'd gladly pay for
needless to say i also got to exp. the patented am4 stick.
at the time i was less then thrilled.
I wanna play stalker 2 so bad but I completed the story and I cant load a previous save that isn't from January😭
When you pull the cpu out the socket with the cooler
That’s been a problem since 754

after switching to a bequite dark rock and thermal grizzly i never had that issue again.
my paste was WET even after 2 years service when i considered swapping my mb to a 570
It still has happened to me with thermal grizzly
Why I would always twist the Cooler before removing
my cooler last time was sliding off the cpu.
it was that pristine.
idk what it is but never had issue like that again.
either the cooler, the compound i used or both
the cpu never getting really that hot again probablly also helped
i yet have to hit above 70ish
I wish amd would just make a new cpu cooler

Making 939 coolers compatible isn’t doing any favors
just buy a good one.
dark rocks go for about 80-100 bucks but they are so worth it.
had mine for like 4 years and never looked back.
i get that alot of people have a hard on for water but i personally really enjoy the non concern of sudden pump death
The ihs on am5 is flawed due to making it compatible with older coolers
Why delidding drops you like 15c
I always forgot what the answer is to this question, do you get pinged if you get an answer in #📜┃gsc-answers
as a am4 peasant i couldnt care less
Don’t really matter for me either since I don’t have an overclockable v cache CPUs
But it’s still funny
v-cache and overclock dont really go into the same sentence, unless they fixed that past the 5k gen.
i remember something around people frying there 5800s over like miniscule overclocks because the stacks choked the chips
Do y'all think there will be an update where they add the ability to continue playing the game after completing the story or a new game+?
but that could be hearsay for all i know
9800x3d its fixed
By putting the cache below the cpu core
So it doesn’t get blasted with heat
yah learn from your mistakes aka rules are written in blood or dead silicon in this case
i never had the impulse to overclock my chip because i think its beefy as is
You can’t
but i can understand the appeal of testing the silicon lottery
All v cache CPUs before 9000 series are fully locked
im aware.
Ya think my cooler for my i5 12600kf could keep a 9800x3d relatively cool? It doesn't go over 55c at full load
yesno.
if you want to fry your chip you can, just not out of the box, for the mentioned reasons
you comparing a civic engine to a v12.
its hard to say
You need to mod your board
To override software voltage control
How many 9000 series models are there?
unless you dont game go for a x3d.
then the choice between a 5 and a 7 depends on your buget
I heard the 9800x3d doesn't get hot at all compared to top tier intel cpus
because intel trys to stay relevant by pumping voltage into its cpus
power = heat
Building a new am4 rig is not really worth it due to sky rocketing ddr4 prices
I think Ill buy a 9800x3d in a few days, I gotta get a new motherboard and ram tho
i was refering to ryyzen 5 or 7.
not gen.
Reason: Bad word usage
Yah
I was an intel "fanboy" before but that is no longer the case at all
Once v cache dropped it was over
Intel is buns💩
Not to mention zen6 is shaping up to me a monster of a cpu
First Ryzen made on a flagship node
Why is ddr4 prices going up?😂
honestlyy perfect choice.
just make sure you pick a cpu that has only full cores, which i beleive this ones does.
amd took after intels homework when they really shouldnt with this e nonsense
Samsung ended production
And all the remaining supply dried up
whatabout hynix?
No one cares about them
Wdym by full cores
People only want Samsung
Which was used on basically every ddr4 memory kit remotely worth owning
If you want ddr5 you want Hynix
I guess I could get sum money for my ram then if someone is dumb enough to buy ddr4, well if their mobo doesn't support DDR5 then fair enough
tldr:
certained highend chips have cut down cores for multitasking, in gaming those suck because the game doesnt know better which one to chose to use.
that is mostly a r9 concern thou i believe
It’s increased by 43 percent on average since production ended
Like how my intel cpu has 6 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores?
Making it more expensive than ddr5
yes
So it’s basically a waste of time
They are preparing dual v cache ccd CPUs
Do u have any idea on how much I would get for my i5 12600kf, 2x16gb 3200mhz ddr4 and a gigabyte b750 ddr4 gaming... Whatever its called
So a 9990x
Considering it’s ddr4 not much cus alder lake ddr4 is total ass

You loose a ton of performance compared to ddr5
Maybe 250?
I dont think anybody in my country uses ebay😭
Paying $100 for an i5 12600kf isn't that bad imo
Its pretty decent but it bottlenecks my 5070, that's why in thinking abt getting a 9800x3d
You won’t be disappointed
My wallet will😭
I’m just waiting
Do u play any popular games the relies on ur cpu?
Lets say I get 200 fps with my i5 12600kf, how much do u recon a 9800x3d will get/improve
does it matter at that point?
also fg doesnt count
delulu frames dont say jack shit
about your rigs performance
In benchmarks the 9800x3d is 30 percent faster than the 14900k in bf6
Also why would you want frame gen in a multiplayer game
💀
Erm yes I’d like more input lag please

people that have no concept about latency just see bigger number better and then complain
When did I ever mention frame gen
Fr
Frame gen is the biggest lie in gaming history
in light of current release performances if i see more then 120 i assume its anything but native
It really ain't that bad, usually less input lag than without any frame gen. Barely takes away quality, depends on the game tho
It’s not though
?
Because games can’t accept inputs on generated frames
honestly fg is more a benchmark flex.
if reflex 2 makes the latency go away i see a great value increase for midrange.
aka 60 users
Yah
If the natural fps is low it will have high input lag and it somehow makes the input lag better, idk why
Like If they get inputs to work on generated frames
Then gg I guess
But atm no inputs work on generated frames
I dont like using ai to get high frames but imma be honest its better than I expected it to be
no low intial fps make framegen look and feel terrible.
the point of not needing it is that you need native 60 and minimum 40 to use it.
at that point just take the L and use low latency native fps
Fsr4 and dlss 4 is fine
Cus the frames are still real
Think fsr4 looks pretty ight on my 9070 xt
alot of people seem to misunderstand that.
dlss is essentially making your card render on lower resolutions and then scales it back up
mindblowing concept apprently

the same reason dlaa can cost frames, its 100% screen res.
usually
Like it’s still a crutch at the end of the day
usually but honestly so far dlss tends to look better
But it at least doesn’t make your gaming experience actively worse
atleast on alot of games
in the eye of the beholder i guess
Stalker 2 is kinda busted in that regard
Anti aliasing seems to be broken
With out some type of upscaling enabled
UE5 magic.
but its also reflex not working for me.
No matter WHAT I DO the latency in the game is abhorrent like im using fg
i learned to just suffer through it.
if your fps actually dip thou its very noticeble
might be team green drivers.
i rmember not having this issue on release
Unless your on 50 series
People been saying the 30 and 40 series drivers are a bit fucked
i am on 50
Though they may have fixed that I’m not sure
mm no
mmm yes
upgrade
im getting a 9800x3d cuz my curent cpu bottlenecks my gpu
My 7950x3d bottle necks me I bf6
Which is wild
I’m still hitting 175 fps though
Frostbite engine generational triumph

There is some kind of "Silent Hill" mod that reduces draw distance by a lot to save resources and introduces (very good looking) fog that doesn't feel out of place.
Far draw distances have always been a bit of a staple "feature" in Stalker, but if you adapt your playstyle a bit and rely less on far range scopes it's great.
I use the UEVR mod to play Stalker 2 in VR and it totally kills my high end machine, but with some performance mods I managed to reclaim enough frames to make it quite playable. Scopes are complete ass in VR though, so I may as well run the silent hill performance mod to get up to my 90 frames in VR (actually "stable" 45+ frames with quest 3 using the in-headset framegen).
Y'all I'm out here on a 2070 super and I just suffer to enjoy the game. Some areas I am in the mid 50's, but lordt I hit that high 20's when in certain hubs
I have rtx3080 and a similar problem usually around 55 fps in 1440p but when i talk to a trader or doctor it tanks down to 15-20fps it could be a memory leak issue or the game takes up too much vram (which we don't have a lot i have 10gb still not enough) to play it on native resolution try turning on dlss and set it on balanced that worked for me
I used to run on a 3070laptop and in cutscenes istg I got fps in the single digits lmao
Not memory leak. Hub areas are just massively cpu intensive.
When you're out and about you're mostly limited by your gpu, when you get near settlements and bases you're mostly limited by cpu
Fire up something like libre hardware monitor and you can see the shift in loads as you approach one
is there a performance increase when going from 16 gigas to 32?
My cpu is ryzen 7 5800x thought it could handle it honestly
Anyhow i dont mind playing with dlss the difference in visuals is barely noticeable and performance gains are huge
If people want more guns in new q3 q4 update ,I hope they react too thes message ,and tag devs ,we all agree game is good now ,and they adding more stuff too spice it up,but we need more guns and variaty.i hope people actually tag and react for the games future.
no new weapons announced for the '25 targets #📰┃announcement message
I know that the reason I asked people too speak up,and let devs know. Adding couple of weapons ain't really doing anything ,for 16h I'm seeing same guns,I said hey ,let me look how many weapons in games and there's isn't many, ffs I have endgame gear early on,we need more guns more variety ,modding can't just keep the game alive ,I absolutely removed the game after 20h because I had enough of seeing same guns over and over ,ward is advanced and they using ak ? Seriously? And monolith?
Lets hope although seems weird but the more i play the more stable game becomes idk what's up with that
Like the bases where i got 20fps now seem fine theres no drop
happens when talking to npcs? have you tried lowering hair quality?
Reason: Bad word usage
I get 60 FPS at 1440p without DLSS which sounds perfectly reasonable until I remember I have a 9900X3D, a 4080, and 48 gigs of RAM
If you are going past 16gb combined system memory then yes
If not then no
I played on release with 16 gigs and game was eating ram like donuts
Upgraded to 32 but never came back to try S2 as I decided to let them patch it out
(I completed the game on like 1.1)
Damn... You should be able to achieve twice of that performance without sweating
Well it’s not going to be a performance upgrade just increasing your capacity unless you also happened to increase the speeds, which at that point in lots of circumstances will be an unnoticeable difference. I remember back when the Ryzen 5000 CPUs came out 3600MHz was kinda the sweet spot but dunno how ram speeds affect performance nowadays
I don't really mess with overclock aside from what is officially supported by BIOS
Which for my hardware is 6400MHz for 48 GB kits
I wish you all a good day be well
I'm using a Ryzen 7700 and rtx 5070, even at 1080p it's tough to crack 60 FPS is some situations, out in the wilderness it's easily 100+ at native with dlaa, I've just enabled frame gen and locked the output to 120fps, gives me butter smooth gameplay with no stutters and no noticeable impact to fidelity
So basically this game is still unoptimized.
Game is gonna be getting a boost in performance soon with the engine change from ue5.1 to ue5.5.4
that's not great to hear
im so pumped
i wonder if we can ditch using framegen and dlss with this new engine i really prefer native
Well native looks worse than dlss in current build

For what ever reason anti aliasing doesn’t seem to work with out fsr or dlss enabled
Thats so strange tbh I can live with dlss but I am excited to see how things will be once they make the switch
this six month roadmap is lacklustre, some of these things are minuscule in comparison to what needs to happen
Will it help my card? I've been getting by on an rtx 3060 6gb.
I really wonder will the next update will be engine switch or 1.6 with NVGs, etc?
It will help literally everyone
i'd temper your expectations — the fact they are already caveating it might not be in 2025 is not a great sign.
Unless your issue is vram related
True
Then your still hosed
It typically goes in order so engine update first
Yea nvidia 30 series seems to suffer from lack of vram
3080 but 10 vram 😭
UNLUCKY
Fr fr
Was wondering about that i havent heard anything bad about 9070xt
I know it a lot more new than 3080 and that it has new tech but thats it idk how strong it is
Is it better for real?
Damn... Amd really made it huh
I’ve only had a single issue with it so far and it’s like the most niche thing ever
I wanted to play with rom hack on a switch emulator
And specifically on Radeon
A certain critical room in the game
Will load as a black screen
That’s literally it though everything else has been great
Well it runs stalker 2 just fine
If it runs stalker 2 fine its always worth considering
And I’m be real the shadow play on Radeon is way better
It never EVER randomly disables its self with out telling you
And always defaults to on
Considering how expensive new gpus are i can probably choose between thaat and Nvidia 5070 like cmon i don't have 5k euros for a gpu bro
Well let me make it easier then
It’s faster than a 5070

That settles it 😀
Although lets be honest amd always had upper hand in budget gaming
Just buy the cheapest one
Okay okay i got it 😀
9070 xts are all roughly the same
You can squeeze a bit more out of the expensive ones but probably not worth it
Good means cant go wrong with it
Makes you wonder what the average survival time of a stalker is
What do you think?
Depends, sometimes 30 seconds 😂
Sucks we won't see 1.6 this month but I guess with the engine upgrade coming it probably makes sense not to rush out tons of updates while it's in the works...
Hoping the 5.5.4 upgrade is out in time for the one year anniversary of release
Just be happy the game is playable
5.5.4 announcement caught me off-guard lol
I've been talking with a friend who does UE5 development and they said just going from 5.3 to 5.4 broke a ton of stuff
The plus side was that some things doubled in performance
Seriously cpu bottlenecked :/ hopefully when they update the game engine that will help
will we ever get a dlc info?
Hey does anyone know if someone has made a co-op mod?
Why is there no discount for upgrading the edition?
haven't tried it, can't say if/how it works.
tyvm will look into it
?
'cause there isn't? idk
To encourage buying the more expensive version outright which gives GSC more cash now to pay devs to fix more things, probably
he probably means that all editions are 30% off in steam but the upgrade packages aren't
it works?
I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock on it since it's been out for pretty much as long as the game but nobody seems to know about it
but, the site appears to work, the github is up, and I scanned the files with virustotal and it came out (mostly) clean.
i havnt tried it, seen a lot of people are very skeptical about it, thinking it might be dodgy ect so dont wanna risk it
it was taken off nexus mods which cant be a good sign, if it gets re added ill probs give it a go tho
yeah i wouldnt i searched and no vids on yt is a big no no for me
ye that was my first red flag lmao
can we PLEASE allow Skif to walk in water?! it's annoying to jump in water only to be completely immobile and despite it being ankle or knee deep
Wondered the same. Not too happy about it but it supports the devs and i like the game so it is what it is
there was, you just missed it, it ended like couple of days ago
hello guys, are there cross platform saves for stalker 2 between xbox and pc?
It literally ended like yesterday
Not even acc this morning I believe
😭😭
use mod
I wish you all a good day be well

i wish my day is well
society
if I played the game at launch on XSX (~20ish hours) but now I moved to a high-end-ish PC, then is it worth to buy Stalker 2 ultimate at the moment?
I'm thinking of upgrading to ultimate for the exclusive weapons, but also the season pass for dlcs
but in general, did the game improved a lot since the launch?
Better stability, alot less broken but still poorly optimised, very demanding on CPU and GPU
It's basically the same as in vanilla just slightly less buggy
towards the end of the year they are planning on upgrading to unreal engine 5.5, which will probably make massive strides in optimization. They also want to add some more stuff, it's over on #📰┃announcement
that being said, do consider that going from console to PC means you'll now get access to a metric assload of mods that you can improve your game with
so while the game isn't particularly better now, you can make it way better for you, potentially
It went from an unplayable mess to a solid mid
i just checked yt videos, even with 5080 dlss quality there is no 120 fps, so ill wait around a bit
What GPU are you running? I've got a 5070 and an Ryzen 7700, in the hubs I'm still cpu bound and can crack 60 FPS at points, I just enable frame gen and lock it in Nvidia app to 120 FPS, I never see it drop below about 105
On a 7900X I was CPU bound to 40 FPS but that was several patches ago
the thing now is that hubs are heavily cpu bound
so you can have a 5090 super ultra mega plus, it won't matter unless you have a kickass processor to go along with it
while out and about I get 55-60 fps on mostly "high" preset with my 5060ti so I would assume 120 fps with framegen is very very realistic for a 5080
however the engine upgrade to 5.5 will probably make it much, much better performing all around, and date's set for 2025, although I have my doubts about it
rtx 5080, ryzen 9800x3d, i want 4k max with dlss 120 fps, do you notice anything annoying with frame gen?
You maybe lose a tiny bit of detail in the terrain directly in front of you, but it's so minor it's barely worth the mention, and is far outweighed by the smoothness of using frame gen, input latency feels negligible
thanks! would you wait for the new features they mentioned recently?
I'm gonna keep playing myself, and once they get to a point where the game is drastically improved or different from its current state I'll restart the campaign from scratch, currently I got about 60 hours into the game and I'm not even half way through the story, spent too much time exploring
I'm doing a playthrough myself, want to clear out the game as is, after the upgrade I'll probably do another run with a different set of mods
Sorry for the ping, discord likes to save replies forever
Gotta turn grass saturation down lol. Just a quick random FYI. Just started again after all these updates and I can't even see the ground through all this foliage....
woah theyre actually gonna update the UE version for s2, i didnt actually think it would happen
I wish you all a good day be well
whats this new update?
hey are there any recommended mods for someone playing stalker 2 for the first time? never played a stalker game before but i see there's mod support in the main menu
The mod list is really limited right now because the engine upgrade will definitely break the modding scene
If you get used to playing with mods that can't be uninstalled then you'll just have to start a new game
Yeah, the weather mod is alright and won't change anything drastically, there's also real weapon name mods if you care about that, stuff like that

These above are just qol mods that won't affect gameplay but improve the game. The english translation one in particular is super nice.
The faction id mod has a slightly convoluted installation process but it's super worth it
There's a mutant balance mod I would honestly recommend cause most mutants are BS, but it does disable certain moves and behaviors so maybe play first and then decide, can be dropped in and taken out mid game no problem.

Thanks! This sounds perfect for me
gonna play stalker 2 for the first time right now, anything I should know?
It does a pretty bad job of explaining the lore at the start
Other than that, nothing I can think of
Actually yeah I do have one tip: carry a bunch of bandages with you all the time
The standard medkit doesn't help with bleeding, and blood loss will kill you almost as quickly as bullets
Around 50 bandages, 30-35 medkits
Any more or less either gets too heavy or insufficient
(Unless you solve the weight problem completely)
thanky ou zelensky
Anytime 👍
Bruh what are you doing to get through that many meds
Bad aim
Fair
always run son, RUN TO THE BURNT FOREST DONT DO ANYTHING ELSE
Don’t listen to him
'cause bad VO.
I'm not someone to play in original dubs and I hate having to spend half the cutscenes looking at subtitles, but I vastly recommend the ukranian voices
if you're playing in PC there's a mod that translates all the writing to english, which imo is lowkey essential.
not that you'll miss much if you can't read ukranian but it's super weird that they don't even have a cursor-over translation
no
So are they planning to add multiple variations of binoculars, not just a binocular as a tool?
my man what level of binocular customization are you expecting
None lmao. I'm asking because of #📜┃gsc-answers message
...NVG or thermal, that's what I'm betting
adding multiple variants just so you can have a slightly different border around the screen seems a bit redundant
