Should run okay

Not as good as it should but with those specs you can get away at maxing out with DLSS and Frame Gen

Ultra+ makes the game harder to run but fixes a lot of issues and improves the lighting engine. Some people don't like it but I would recommend it 9/10 times, as it makes the game less shimmery and noisy

I think a lot of people online don't really set their systems up properly, either outdated drivers , bad bios settings, etc etc. I have a 4070 13700k which should be similar to your performance, but I benefit greatly from Frame Gen and since you're on a 3080ti, you're a bit screwed on that front (no frame gen). Just set the graphics to high, dlss to balance (override the model with Nvidia app to use dlss4) and you should have 60+ frames for most of the game

And the game will still look good. I love how S2 Looks when it decides to look good, which is not always

Of course mods like u+ and my own weather mod (biased opinion) makes the game looks much better than vanilla

It's not a remake, it's a new installment, and while I would recommend playing the first 3 games, you don't have to. A lot of bugs have been patched and AI had been improved, but could still use a bit of work.

Don't know if it is the same stutters but for me it was shadows that are sometimes overly hungry. I can have stable very good FPS, turn a little bit and drop to 5-10fps.
It's not on particular spot either, just looking in one direction at one time. Going from Epic to High only for shadows almost eliminated the issue.

uninstalling mods does nothing, and for some reason the game has defaulted to Ukranian, but still it crashes right before shader compilation and gives me a ''access violation'' error

I had the same error, what I did was I deleted the mods folder. I used Vortex to manage my mods and for some reason it didn't delete my mods.
The intro part of the game is now in ukranian, I think they intentionally changed that.

I already tried that and I manually installed all my mods, so I know they were deleted when I removed them

that text is just something i wrote as a joke, ty for using the word big hha ❤️ and no changes in alife, only combat and "in-render" behaviour of humans and mutants

therefore, none of the files i adjust are changed so mod fully works (already tested myself for dozen of hours)

I do find it intriguing all the debate about A-Life. like the 100m spawn radius everone loves getting annoyed about. if A-Life is implemented cleverly by GSC in such a way that NPCs spawn in and out where you're not looking etc, small radius wouldn't matter cos you wouldn't even notice. I think the small spawn radius is something they did mainly for performance espec on consoles.

think it's a bit tricky to determine how A-Life is supposed to work when GSC are still fixing 500+ bugs every patch... like, is A-Life not designed well vs the OG trilogy? Or are bugs and performance issues covering up what their intentions are with the A-Life design? is A-Life as is unfinished and they're basically adding it in as they go? curious what it'll end up looking like another 6 months from now

in short: render and spawn distances are 2 things, the render being high is needed for functionality of different things like the use of snipers or binos. you cannot lower the render cus you will bottleneck those mechanics. now when u increase it you need to fill it that means more needs to be filled and ready to render at all times meaning more performance cost, more work etc
