you could, just as well, take a look at NA7, where they have 400+ weapons, loads of calibers, and do you know what happens?
a lot of calibers are concised into the lower progression tier as that tier, has a lot of WW2 weapons, with niche calibers, which ends up making all those weapons useless because you can never find ammo for them, and youll quickly start using 5.45 ammo, NA7 adds a cacophony of Missions to the main story and side quests and maps making the content more stacked, meaning their additions of 7.62x39 and 50bmg and 14.7 and .300 etc etc are paced and welcomed
