They were only a big issue on the 5000 series

Mech/ventus is also like the worst model anyway

lean briar

lean briar

or if you reeally want nvidia just go 3060 ti fe

swift forge
#

U can change any cards backplate if u have the right backplate to replace it

grand orbit
swift forge
#

But it has light rgb and says red devil, and there like amds og, imo there the best models for amd

#

Not to mention they clock high

lean briar
#

rgb = fps

swift forge
#

You do u bro

lean briar
#

Its slightly better

swift forge
#

4000 series is about to come out so gpus are prices r going down

lean briar
#

Better cooler i believe

void whale
#

The gigabyte one is kinda ugly

swift forge

Not like u stare at your pc while u game

And it looks decent

True

uncut tartan

Honestly

#

The 4000 series would probably bottleneck my build

I think sleeper builds that have top of the line parts are cool

lean briar

Is sn850 good

void whale

Yes but depending on price

lean briar

180 dollars 2 tb

Welp 180 euros

Dollar and euro same now

General user doesn’t need more than a nvme gen 3 ssd atm

So may or may not be worth it but I think not really as much worth it.

p31 goes for lower

high radish
#

Gen3 pepesus

stoic crest

but it's still good

#

you're looking at like $20 diff of price

high radish
#

Yeah it's decent but not gen4 hmm

#

I bought sn850 for 220$ recently hmm

#

Got p41 for 220$ too

stoic crest
#

what are you even doing to need that

high radish
#

I see people complaining about gen4 speeds which sounds nonsense to me . Sn850 transferring with 4.5gbps stable while 970evo does 2.4gbps

stoic crest
#

unless you move a lot of files

#

i don't see the need for extra moners for gen 4

high radish

if you regular gamers yes

#

But gen4 ssds are not much expensive anymore hmm

stoic crest
#

for you yes

#

some people are fine with saving every bit of money

high radish
#

I would love to see p41 for 180$ too KEKW

#

I thinking about it too . Like I would rather P41 but it's 220$ hmm

#

40$ more but very very small difference pepesus

stoic crest

in that case sn850 definitely more worth

#

Gonna put them on this

12900k have 48pcie lines total. 16for gpu , 16 for 4x m2 slot , and gonna put 4x m2 on that expansion card KEKW

So gonna full all pcie lines PepeLaughs

pulsar fable

I bought all the pcie lanes, so im gonna use all the pccie lanes

high radish

But which mobo have 2x pcie 16 thonk

pulsar fable

also i just realized my 9700k has a mere 16 pcie lanes, so one high end gpu takes em all up leaving none for my m.2s :/

high radish

Lol

pulsar fable

oh im saying thats how the card works

im not sure how it works on the motherboard's end

I have a personal rule I live by: never buy the first model on a new platform. This applies to cars and computers mainly.

$140 bestbuy sn850 was refunded btw, rip. If anything, might just reorder the P31 or wait until building near black friday

high radish

umm I didn't had good experience with 6800xt and 6900xt hmm

how so?

6000 wasn't a new platform though, it's the second RDNA generation. 5000 was where the real issues were.

high radish
light bay
#

ironically, my 5700xt has been a great great gpu with basically no crashes or instability. sample size of one tho

jolly inlet
#

5000 got fixed eventually but many 5700 XTs were totally unusable near launch

i havent seen any stability difference

ive seen better gaming perf however, with e cores on 12th gen

fleet marlin
slow sluice
#

Windows 11 stable? They're changing up parts of the API every two weeks it seems

jolly inlet
#

I've had the opposite, 11 is less stable for me

high radish
light bay
#

win10 was fine

#

unless you gamed with e cores

high radish
#

I never loved win10 honestly

#

win11 is bae

light bay
#

i briefly used a 12600k on w10 and the gaming was pretty meh

jolly inlet
#

Yeah I don't know what you mean about 10 being crappy, it had it's issues near launch but that's not a unique thing.

fleet marlin
slow sluice
#

Windows 10 is pretty much stable at this point. Microsoft rocked the boat and ditched IE recently, but besides that it has been pretty good

light bay
#

im speaking past tense here

#

if you had a 12600k(f) or up pretty close to launch, gaming sucked pretty bad

#

i disabled e cores it was that bad

non heatsink version is 185$

both good, just depends on what shape you like. dont know if that version of the deathadder has it, but the viper ultimate has rubber grips which to some people can be kinda bad

I don't use my naga for MMO though so I'm not a good opinion on it. I use it for CAD work

light holly

I would honestly be using it for the 7 button side.

#

I do use my redragon for other games as it has the 12. And I use orchi for browsing as well as certain games that don't require so many buttons

The redrafon also has a secondary left click button so thats cool

Even with 13th gen so close.. that 12600KF is pretty solid price though right? Like a 13600KF is probably gonna drop at like.. $400??

#

I mean, idk. That's why I'm asking.

Because I'm really contemplating picking it up.

I already have the 12600K, but for that price.. I feel like it'd be a good idea.

azure pond

I'd imagine 13600k will be ~300

Though it depends if it's the same core count as 13400

980 Pro is $10 cheaper at newegg. I was gonna rebuy a P31 at 160 but the SN850 is tempting. Trying it the TT HP into cart instead of the weird page w/ only "place order". EDIT: bought the HP! kekleo

brisk sphinx

How much worse would an SN850 be on PCie 3.0?

#

Compared to a P31?

high radish

They will be same i guess since sn850 will by limited by gen3 speed

brisk sphinx

Actually nah, doesn’t seem like a good idea for my laptop because of the extra heat

Sticking with my P31 plan

grave delta

P31 is an easy choice for a laptop

high radish

if your laptop not supporting gen4 then there's no point of getting gen4 ssd lol

#

If you have plan to upgrade soon then yeah

fleet marlin

P31 w/ it's great overall latency and such would probably beat (for general use) any gen 4 ssd that's set on gen 3, plus obviously the outright lower power/heat. Edit: sn850 sold by Amazon might be temporary oos anyways.

Watching a few YouTube vids also goes a long way in visualizing what you'll need to do. I recommend checking them out asap so you can see just how simple it really is. Watch a couple. Take a few days, watch a couple more. Ask questions about what this and that is and you'll be well on your way to building your own pc.

there is nothing wrong to have a custom build service for your new pc, but you should be aware that prices will be higher on the components in those services... nobody buys bread to sell bread at the same price.
