yeah, but used is sometimes not an option
or not what i'd want to push people to lol
so you want people to waste money
because zen 4 really is that efficient
no, it's called paying more for something better
sure the gpu isn't better, but you get much longer battery life
10 hours.
10 hours of battery life
you do what you do
still an huge L deal
you get the ability to game, all while having backup on the side when you're unplugged and on igpu
the igpu isn't too bad either, it's radeon 760m. enough to go by with older games.
10 hours is claimed, but you can easily get 6-8 hours without doing anything
with laptops, efficiency matter a lot more than a pc
Man went back 3 days
yes
you can't just go "because there's older laptops that perform better"
you don't realize how important it is until you need it
"efficiency matters a lot than a pc"
You just said it lasts 6 horus
hours
6 hours is a decent run time
if you do home office your bill is gonna skyrocket
220v being used every 5 hours for 1 and a half hour
every day
that is gonna make your electricity bill go cary
cray
cray
and that's me underestimating the laptop, mind you lol
also, a pc doing office work consumes more than a laptop
and running on battery doesn't use any power
what are you on about
you can just cap power to like 10w, and it'll still be usable for office work
if you really wanna run plugged in
but anyway, i've made my point. take it as you will
im just trying to learn and spread my knowledge
They left
lol
i was genuinely trying to educate em
i had a feeling they would leave
good thing they did, it'd be bad for the server if they stayed
Very negative
Why would they go back 3 days to a listing already ended to tell me it was bad..?
exactly
@desert ruin you're a bum, know nothing about the laptops and yet you talk like you know everything lmao
Good to see that psu prices are finally coming back down
Can't even comprehend the idea that running on battery means you aren't drawing from the wall lol
They’re gone
But well said
Eh, still fun
Saw that deal Bacca posted
Finally reasonable PSU prices

laptops indeed make a lot of sense when you just want efficiency at all costs
said costs being less expandability
more complex maintenance (in the way that you have to pop the bottom panel open)
the victus isn't remotely thin by any means too
so that thin argument was just silly at best
the sides look thin because well, hp wants it to look thin
Pretty sure I saw a review of that Dell OEM card and it's actually quite well made
Lot easier to cool a 3060ti lol
That one was actually relatively good
i thought it had major vram overheating issues
was it Hp that did?
It had a heatpipe jn the backplate
So it was good at vram
Relatively speaking all 90 cards had hot vram
The dell was quite a nifty old dog in a sea of high tech
We called Dell’s G5 5000 a "warranty with e-waste attached." We said the 1660 Super in that system was the bottom of the barrel, but maybe, just maybe, Dell’s RTX 3090 can redeem them.

That one little heatpipe does so much
Y'all ready for prime day? Might buy some stuff myself.
I'm ready to max my credit card limits
i need to research the best price for a monitor
otherwise, my bank account is gonna look sad
I was ready for steam sale bro
@normal spear if you wanna talk about tech deals that's what this channel is for
where's the prime day channel 😭
cause rn.. I see nothing good except the ninja creami deal
Yk the deals are bad when nothing you've had saved in your save for later didn't change prices after the "deals" started
like no thermal paste or thermal pads even changed price 🥲
Looks like it's just another year of lackluster tech deals all around
yeah sadly
but watercooled
I feel like tech deals getting more and more trash recently lol 4th gone without any deal and prime day is also trash lol
Still pretty good regardless
Bought few warehouse items but nothing else yet
There were times I was maxing my 40k credit limit at deals days
Lmao
Warehouse deal ain’t bad..
Sadly I’m just a minor that doesn’t have an AMEX, Discover or I think a chase debit/credit card because amazons offering 15-20$ discounts if you add those cards to the account
Meanwhile I have 0 credit cards and a bad credit score

Chasing contracts to make you sign up, those deals usually are
Like a cashback offer
I have 40k at amex . And roughly 25k at other cards
Online shopping for Discover Card from a great selection at Credit & Payment Cards Store.
This is what I saw
And it was discover, Amex, and City
Honestly the 20$ doesn’t sound bad for discover considering I need a discover student credit card to start building credit
But that’s when I turn 18..
$20 is paltry for a cashback offer
Nono I don’t think it’s cashback
I'd be looking at APR
I think it’s just a coupon
buy me a pc thank you
(I can't see them so I can't say myself)
Well ya not all credit cards are pretty most of the time but from what I know
Student has I think 0 APR for 6 months
Then it’s regulsr has 0 for 15 months
Then the rates are like 20-35% depending on your credit rating
It’s not like I’d blow the limit on a fresh credit card and not pay it back
Which I’m kinda concerned for this man here..
I mean I would on a 0% APR for sure
If I had a rate? I do not like owing extra money.
I’d rather be called broke by using a monthly payment installment with 0 APR like amazon or PayPal does
I think my score is bit higher
being in debt isn't that bad lol
You need some debt to prove your trustworthy and responsible to build your score. Just don’t want too much of it.
Jesus Christ 20-35%?
Yeah starter/youth/young adult cards typically have very high APR
Ahh, never had a card that would be considered a starter
Ya sadly, it's actually 18-28 but they add on a additional 5% APR for some other things
so close enough from what I was saying
Mine's like 26.5% I think? But I always pay it off in full before it's due
Ya if i'm buying something, i'm paying it off as long as I have money for it
i'm not doing some loan crap where I owe extra every month
Mine is only about 10% ish
If I need another line of credit i'll do another line of credit
I don't think that's an offer for opening a new cc, it's just for using specific cards on Amazon
That would be better if so
Like those late 3rd party pay offers they've been running
Is there any good headsets on "sale" rn?
Price range is up to 80$, something that can have a good mic, audio alright aswell.
Pc37x, isn't on sale (probably) but is a good headset
130$ 😭
Got mine for $60 like new condition lol
Anyways, iirc hyper x is usually better sound quality-wise compared to other brands
Got my pc38x for $110
Is there any exact hyper X
ik they got like
Cloud III
Cloud X
blah blah blah.
Not really sure, I think it's just in general
I've had 2 hyper x headsets personally, and both were not bad for the price I paid
But the pc37x that I now have is just way better in terms of comfort and mic sound quality, not to mention the sound stage
Lucky tbh, i'll keep an eye on it
considering I use a 2019-2020 Kraken tournament edition
Lucky, how so?
Off ebay
Was in box though, but then again, that box was looked like someone had drop-kicked it
Still had plastic on it though, so ig never used?
💀
I’m not seeing any decent deals for any prebuilt/preowned builds
Good day for parts tho
Parts are alrigt
That used 7800xt was good
Otherwise no gift card deals really, no good deals on things like PC fans, hubs, thermal paste 😢 , or any headsets/mics.

I was coming here to post that lmao
I've seen em at those prices before so it's not crazy or anything but pretty good value
@azure pond is 7900xt worth paying 27% more when a 7900gre can be OC'd pretty close to it?
I suppose you do get a bit more vram as well
Value wise no
You don't really benefit from more than 12GB of vram currently. It's rare for a game to get above 10GB still.
I still think 16gb is nice to have since ideally you'll use it for a good few years, so I like the extra 4gb the gre offers over the 4070 super
Any good laptop deals atm?
Peeps should keep an eye on Amazon used for gfx cards. I snagged a 4060 LP the other day for 250 - best card for small scale builds rn
I'd check r/laptopdeals
@fair moon cmf buds for 27 is nuttty nice find
Yeah already decent for $40 so 27 is a steal
That’s a lot of Spaghettihoes
Do I buy a bed during prime day
yes if its actually on sale
mighjt as well be comfy
Anyone know a decent router deal?
Idk what's good, I just know my att modem has horrible connection
Im so sad i didnt commit on the $630 used very good 7900xtx
I'm taking a gamble with a renewed (Refurbed) 12tb seagate drive. I have had very good success in the past with their brand
Hindsight is always 20/20
Quick Question. Is getting the Gigabyte 4070 Super for roughly $600 worth the price or should I opt for a different card?
@cloud hornet isn’t 4070 super bad value? Or am I thinking of 4070 ti super?
MSI 4070 super is $569 btw
I'd probably avoid ventus
But there's a $580 gigabyte model
Heard Ventus isn't really reliable.
W MSI being MSI, I would too
Fine for lower end cards but I'd rather spend the extra $10 for a 3 fan gigabyte model
as much as I just don’t like MSI, I really like the look of the cards
PNY also has a $579
Anyways, a 7900GRE ($510 rn) would pull ahead in raster and has more vram, but also has worse upscaling and RT
And Zotac
I'm not too knowledgable about that information.
So I'm quite a bit behind in terms of the speficied details.
If you just want it to game good out the box, the 4070 super is probably the better bet, but if you want to get down into tuning, the 7900GRE is the better choice. (If you’re willing to sacrifice some upscale/RT as Stevie said)
I'm probably gonna go with the out of the box gaming.
I'm not too knowledgable about messing with that.
And I wouldn't know what does anyways
It’s a $60 difference. So it’s all up to you at that point.
What’s your build lookin like @ruby scroll

-_-
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce GTX 980 Ti, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
Erm, no bad words in the discord server guys 🤓
That should be what my set up is atm.
980ti
if you wanna donate that to the cause for Roomba making a pc
But yeah, I’d strongly suggest that upgrade.
Yeah. Which is why I wanted to know if a $600 4070 super is worth the price for it.
I wish the 3090ti would come down in pricing
Since you guys mentioned something about RT and upscaling.
Which I have no idea what those technically means.
Ah I see.
Probably wouldn't want to sacrifice it as much.
Since I'm already dealing with 980 ti graphics on a lower end for most games
With a 4070 super, you could do some good stuff in games
Well, upscaling is the entire image, not just textures. And it does introduce blur and ghosting.
Yeah. I can't wait to see my games in better quality.

Buy an ...
Before I sold my pc(and got the PSU for a hopeful new one)
I was using a 960, then a 1080
I don’t know how people are still using a 900 series gpu these days
980ti is a good bump over a 960 pretty sure
Waiting for a good deal to get one
Very much
On par with a 1660ti
Instead of being on par with 1050ti
You know what's funny
Watching the video with my graphics doesn't really show which is different XD

DARN it!
If it wasn't for the subtitle labeling. I wouldn't be able to tell which.
oh that's funny. Some of the cheaper 7900 gre can't ship to my location so it doesn't even matter now XD
It's basically saving $50 - 75. T_T
Oh?
For 600 that's
Almost kinda reasonable
Almost kinda
Ye
Case looks fine to me. Could always put an intake fan up top if needed
nothing today ?
Nothing good today
There was a refrub 160$ sony xm4 headphones but it sold out quickly
Otherwise nothing
anyone see any good prime deals for flat panel monitors?
hoping for something decent upto 150
Do you need speakers
not at this time (currently using a cheap logitech set up)
https://us-store.msi.com/Monitors/Gaming-Monitors/G255F
(same price but on newegg) https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824475377
more focused on the screen, right now i have 1 sceptr
nice, beat all the specs of ones i found for 150 XD beside being 25 ".
You don't want to do 27 inches with 1080p anyway, the dpi is too low
good to know! thank you yet again haha
there's few 27 inch qhd monitors around for like 170$ but their panel is meh
yea i dont mind mine, but i think i gotta mess with the settings again. seems kinda dull now
oh that hp omen have beautiful screen
iv never gone referb.. i have trust issues haha. thats one to think about tho
Any cheap Wireless Network Adapters on sale? For a gaming pc pcie 1
at least yesterday there was some warehouse items . today is complately empty lol
what a waste of prime day
lol
is there any real differences in these monitor stands? i wanna attach one of my screens to the corner of my desk and hang over the middle and another hang under the stairs (that one i haven't found a good one for yet)
Most differences would be in the max supported size and weight. Other than that there's the mounting mechanism to the wall/desk, as well as minor differences in adjustability mechanisms and the actual mounting plate that goes to the monitor.
Does anyone know what some good or decent keyboards are? Without the clicks? Not a fan of the clicky sounds, not sure if all gaming keyboards are clicky though.
The switches determine how "clicky" it is. Look at switch reviews and find one with a sound you like, then try to find keyboards that use that switch.
Might not be the best way but that's how I'd do it.
Alternatively https://www.rtings.com/keyboard/tools/table
Check our Keyboard Table Tool to see all our reviews. Easily select and compare products, and use our filters and sorting options to find the best Keyboard for your needs. Example: Check our TV Table Tool to see all our reviews. Easily select and compare products, and use our filters and sorting options to find the best TV for your needs.
If anybody is a college student you might be able to get a good deal if there is any good sennheisers on target
(Target usually has some refurbished optiplexes for cheap)
Damn, $187 for one of the better cpus and 32gb ddr4? That’d make for one hell of a budget build
thinking of getting this 2019 mac from backmarket
is it a good idea to buy old mac products or a new dell or lenovo for a simular price
*in excellent condition and a warranty from backmarket
Ask in peripherals
Iirc they use TTC switches and aren't all bad in those
But 120 is a fair bit
They'll probably have a better option
Go for M1 if you can, plain better
Macbook air used, 2020(?) M1
Thats what my other freind said
It says $32 for me. Are these deals account specific?
It's a group buy deal
Red dragon has started making good cheap peripherals as far as I know
I've had an RD KB for years now and love it
The $32 deal only happens if enough people sign up to buy it. It's 41% unlocked now so don't count on it
MacBook Air (2022) 13.3-inch - Apple M2 8-core and 8-core GPU - 8GB RAM - SSD 256GB for 749.99
or
MacBook Pro (2020) 13.3-inch - Apple M1 8-core and 8-core GPU - 16GB RAM - SSD 512GB 864.99
(for economics university work)
Lmao
864 is a bit debatable but 100 extra for more ram and more storage makes a bit of sense
I would do 800 if you can negotiate
It's still kind of the better choice
M2 wasn't exactly revolutionary
M1 was the big moment for apple
@dark ocean I’d ask the seller if they can check the battery health
It’ll make it easier to negotiate and see if you’ll need to replace it soon
Tho I think their price is pretty reasonable imo
It's from backmarket, not a singular seller
@azure pond Going to need your help - Tiktok is doing this "Invite friends and get a .01 item of your choice (shipping and tax fees are not covered)" on their shop, issue is i'm unable to get a single invite "point" cause of some error ig.
I don't know if you have the same promo deal going on right now and could try using bluestacks to figure this out with me?
cause I could get an SN770 for ".01" or DDR5 aswell.
@azure pond would the “corrosion” on the card be worth getting for a customer? Or should I look for something else?
Yeah true
wack pc
There’s even more expensive rice cookers
Anyone know why reason some rice cookers r so expensive?
I tried looking it up but no answers
I dunno cos you can make rice just as easy in like a pressure cooker or something
That’s what I was thinking as well
But ig it’s the gimmicks that make it more expensive
Like reheating and the amount of rice u can cook
Yeah true
Wait maybe it’s like a social status symbol when u inv people for food
Just flex the rice cooker
Never seen that brand before
probably sells mostly in japan
Probably
#tech-deals message
At least it’s coming from Zotac’s ebay site. You still have to wonder why they have so many open box available for purchase
I think they typically stockpile them and then list a bunch at once, but I could be wrong
plausible tbh
I can tell you that they make really good products,I've had one of their kettles for 7 years now and it still works like brand new.
Any ~$900 prebuilt deals around?
Pfff I don’t want to be tied to the person
Who said anything about marriage
Hey darvan
Gimme the easy out
Money
I’m busy
@azure pond
Is open box/refurb ok?
Yeah
Ah alr, I'll grab some options
This is pretty good value, id replace the ram with a 32gb kit and sell the 16gb stick
Doesn't necessarily have to be immediately, but it would noticeably help performance
https://a.co/d/16xqht8 this is the baseline atm
The one I linked is cheaper and better
Yeah
In every way aside from maybe case?
Not sure about psu/ssd too tbf
I'm still looking for some other options
The gotos I used are oos now aside from the one above
ty for the assist
This is $80 cheaper, but you get a 30% worse gpu and a much worse cpu, I don't know the exact difference
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali635-master/p/N82E16883360300C?Item=N82E16883360300C&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-83-360-300C-_-07232024
Any option I'm seeing is just much worse value than that one on ebay lol
I'd still take the ebay build over this, but with microcenter
https://www.microcenter.com/product/676226/powerspec-g517-gaming-pc
Ty again for the options
not sure if i'ts a good deal, but it's $40 for a 240m rad from redragon? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CCP5LHXR
never knew that they made aios
Probably worse than similar priced air coolers
But if someone wants to take a chance with it possibly leaking or the pump failing, by all means
I'd probably just grab this for $46
im not sure if this is how my ethernet stats should look, i was checking my stats because i noticed that i just downloaded telegram and every time i open it, it stops responding
update: i think i just wanna force download windows 11, because my pc cant even use the search bar, i cant close out of tabs properly, even OBS crashes when i try to close it. I cant download telegram, nor google, none of my downloads fully complete either. ive redownloaded windows
anyone know how to do that, and if i probably shouldnt with the current specs i have?
First option, Windows 11 installation assistant.
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
As long as you meet the hardware requirements like TPM and secure boot then 11 isn't any harder to run than 10. It'll let you know what you need to do, if anything.
i found out earlier(i should’ve mentioned) that i don’t have enough ran to run it
i only have 16gb
someone told me it took an hour for their thing to boot up with 16 gb?
and i don’t run the requirements for TPM
Who said that? I was running 16gb for ages on my 5800X system
i was desperate because my pc is just running so garbage.. no idea why
What processor do you have
interesting
i3 9100f
next one i’m getting is a ruben 5 5600, but that’s for my new setup
The 9100 should be new enough, it's 8th Gen and newer they want (and some 7th)
how come they want such high specs?
You probably just need to update your BIOS
i’ll need to see how to do that
It's more the security features that TPM enables. Microsoft wants their OS to be more secure, so they want a recent hardware device.
Well if you want to play certain games (Apex iirc) you need TPM anyway for the anti cheat
does it use the same as squad?
No idea
it had a panda on its logo
But what they use it for is a more permanent ban of cheaters, instead of the usual IP ban that's easy to get around you can ban the exact computer used to cheat, and they need to change hardware to get around that.
and if they can’t?
If you don't have the TPM you can't play
i see
i’ll update the bios tomorrow if i can, i’ll look up how to check if i need it and how to
then i’ll download this after
Download cpu-z and grab a screenshot of the mainboard tab, that'll tell us what exact board you have and what BIOS version you're on
So we can point you to the right BIOS to download
I may be busy but there's plenty of people that can help you update
That's like saying that my car won't start because I recently got a tire rotation
i’m sorry i’m confused
The amount of RAM doesn't determine boot times
i see
Been a long time since we even only had 4GB of ram, but back then slow booting was still usually about a crappy drive.
I mean maybe back then you could have like the most amount of memory possible for the time and the computer would have to run a memory check (like a memory counter)
That would take forever if you had a maxed out PC for MS-DOS (whatever you'd be doing with that at the time lol)
My dad had some 98SE or Win 2000 stuff, but been a while since I've used anything pre-XP, lol. At libraries or w/e, saw plenty of XP machines doing fine w/ 4GB ram, haha. 8GB of course was way closer to being decent.
4GB was a luxury on XP, I ran it on 192MB
4GB was also the limit on XP (only about 3.5GB was addressable on 32 bit) unless you got the inferior 64 bit version
if the long boot was a one time thing could that be like memory profile training?
Ram training can take a while, yes, that's common w/ ddr5 setups especially AM5
Totally forgot the 4GB 32bit limit, haha. Cut both numbers I said for XP in 1/2 then. Main thing I remember is many old pcs in some. Libraries or low tech schools often had crap hdds where rebooting would take 5+ minutes, etc.
About to go meet up with a guy to sell him a computer with i9 7980xe, 128GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 2080ti, 500Gb SSD, 2TB HDD, and 1,000 WATT PSU for $800. Any last minute suggestions if I should sell at that price or not.
I haven't confirmed the sale with him yet so it's still okay for me to pull out
ok
looks like a sketchy website, its https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_2.10-en.exe right?
Correct
Here's your latest BIOS version, it explicitly states that this version supports Windows 11 with default settings. https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7C39v142.zip
thanks, gonna work on this once i put some of my stuff for sale
gonna try and redo my next pc build plan since i didnt do too much research on my previous parts
what happens if i wanna revert back?
You just flash the older version the same way
i see
That Asus Prime X670-P WiFi motherboard is also the same price on newegg. https://www.newegg.com/asus-prime-x670-p-wifi/p/N82E16813119588
That probuild gone with the wind
There's this as well but only 1 left
Do any of yall got some recommendations for a good tv for my ps5?
Ty
^^^^^^
Surprisingly
Walmart still has that $600 victus with 4050
They're really getting rid of it huh
Maybe because victus have trash plastic body 🤷🏻♂️
It can't be that bad
Just don't drop it
They did make some improvements for 2024 tho
Normally yes, but HP is a special case where 90% of their laptops have issues with the cables running through the hinges
HP isn't the only one that does this
Right, but HP is the brand that makes no effort to improve it, ever. It's been the same design flaw for over 20 years.
Why’s that?
I don’t know about other brands but there’s this…
LG recently did an update that forces ads on you even watching regular TV
No internet, no ads.
⬆️
They all spy on you by default. Everything from watch history to your actual audio transcripts gets sold to advertisers, depending on the model, because ofc a TV needs a microphone now.
Ah, a small perk to just sticking w/ a separate roku box or such at most
Personally I'd block internet access on the router side so I can still use the chromecast functionality. That's all I would need from the smart features.
PiHole it
I got a new tv a few months ago from my aunt
Haven’t connected it to internet
Won’t ever
I have a fire stick and that’s all I need
That all definitely sucks but do phones not do the same thing
Absolutely. But why add more to it. and at least ads (for now) dont pop up before you can make a call or open an app, etc.
It's always interesting when people can't see things that makes it "more" OK (phone), but seeing it happen is not, despite it being the same thing. This the age in which everyone is paying to be the product. I'd recommend getting a Samsung TV, our is always connected but I have yet to see any ads. May eventually happen but for now, not yet.
Buy CRT TV, no tracking, much durable, cheap
If there was even just a 1080p vs of my old 32" curtis mathis, I'd happily pay $500+ for it. Cathode Rays 4 life
@stoic crest can you add in more ram to the laptop you posted?
I call BS. If you do much as sneezed wrong that cathode tube would die.
My man I had a CRT TV, one of the bigger ones, fall directly onto the ground screen first, got a bunch of liquid in the internals from drink spills as a very messy young boi, bonked by numerous thrown PS2 controllers and remote controls and the worse damage it had was a broken dvd player cover flap after 9 years of use. I've dropped one of the giant ones out of the side of a trailer and it functioned perfectly
A modern flat screen gets flicked too hard and the screen breaks
And the flat screen doesn't even come with the free static charges the crt screens had
yes you can
https://www.ebay.com/itm/186248096577?
Budget cpu for $61 total
Lmao I’m about to pair one of those with a 6800 XT (it's gonna be a mess lmao)
Things I do with spare parts ™️
Good Work
Only problems i ever had with CRT was if something magnetic got too close. But it would eventually return to normal.
idk if $500 6950xt is much of a deal anymore
I wouldn't buy a 6900 or 6950 for much more than $400.
yeah I bought 6950xt for 500$ a year ago but today it's questionable
R7 5800x coming from a 2700x or spend more for the 5800x3d? Not planning the jump to am5 yet. I don’t need it. Only running 1080p still I’m fine with 120-165 fps but running the new cpu choice with a 6700xt. Just not sure the prices I’m seeing for the x3d’s are worth that difference to the $119-139 of the 5800x. I might have posted this in the wrong thread but I figured y’all understood the pricing part of this
If this upgrade is going to last you a few years, x3d is worth the extra money
Also make sure you get some decently fast ram for whichever you choose, 3600 is the sweet spot for AM4
Either processor will be great for you and a large upgrade.
The X3D also doesn't apply to all games so if you can afford the extra $100 I'd do it. If you can't afford it, the 5800x will be great also
heheh 69
5700x3d
The good deals on the 5800X3D haven't been happening lately. Its definitely worth the $100+ savings to get the 5700X3D.
might not be, but at least it's not a bad deal
Go with 5700x or 5700x3d unless they cost more than the 5800x counterparts in your country
Yes but if they have 3200, spending some on not much faster ram would honestly be a waste
For 600$ is this still good https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Victus-15-6-inch-FHD-144Hz-Gaming-Laptop-AMD-Ryzen-5-8645HS-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-4050-8GB-DDR4-512GB-SSD-Mica-Silver-2024/5395277312

alr
Sorry for ping but would you know what type of ram this is coming with and what kit of ram I could put in it?
Cause walmarts website has it named DDR5 but it's description has it as DDR4 💀
Better be DDR5, CPu can't support DDR4
Note that walmart typos aren't rare
Ik
just I hate how there's so many versions of laptops
Hard to find what the info says it is
it is ddr5
zen 4 is strictly ddr5
and someone bought this walmart lappy as well
i gave em some ram reccs and yes, it indeed was ddr5
Can you also give me ram rec's? 😭
My cousin is buying it, saved him a trip from going to Microcenter alone with his thought process of "i3 bad, i9 good, more ram = better"

Would I buy two or just one?
Considering the "never use two different types of ram" situation
Hey fiancés pc has their nvme lmao
Pulled from Alienware laptop
No clue if it’s any better than the cheaper option
Theyre fine
What on earth is a 6550m
Better than 2050 which is what's typically around that price point
Around 30% better
Still not the best, $120 extra for that 4050 laptop would be better
But for low end it's solid value
Looks like 6550m is <10% slower than a 1650s
@stoic crest @azure pond sorry for ping but do you know what to remove on that victus for bloatware?
Cousin just got it this morning & his system is using 6Gb/16gb of memory (he installed the extra 8) while idle
Idle ram usage doesn't matter
But for bloat you could try the script pinned in #windows-ios
Ty
An option is find out the windows key of that system, then fresh install windows like prebuilt pc users do sometimes.
Or, sign into your Microsoft account so the key automatically gets associated to your account (you can use a dummy account you only use for Windows if you don't like being tracked)
Ah, lancool215 is $38 shipping from 3rd party for me.
Smh bad techie (definitely wasn't me)
hey thats my card
Q-series Keychron keyboards for sub $100 is crazy
Hmmm
Wow. Humble's donation options have gotten significantly worse over the years. Choose between paying the game company, one charity and paying Humble with a mandatory minimum cut for Humble regardless of what you choose
The default donates 75 cents to the charity when you do the 15
Yeah Humble used to be much better
When their monthly sub was actually good and not just one halfway good game and a bunch of indie titles no one has heard of
I will forever remember the support Ukraine bundle as the last great Humble Bundle 🫡
I got one game bundle from them, and it was arguably one of the best ones. The one with every major racing game in it (other than the really expensive ones)
45$ z790 got me jumping up and down till I realized it was a ddr4
I mean I could replace my Tuf z690 but no point tbh 😭
It's even better if you're trying to build an extra pc or something. cheap 16GB kit + current 12400 system could replace my old E8400 setup. NE does have a decent warranty I figure, in case pins aren't ok.
A 12400 would double the CPU performance of my home server. But do I need one
Picked up a z790 aorus master x from mc for 140. crazy deal
I need someone to mail me something from MC, haha. $50+ in gas to go there. -- Fal, wonder if Rommy had another 12400.
one near me has so much open box stock that everything thats open stock on the floor is also 50% off
my friend got a lian li v3000 for 138 haha
Open box from them is also very low risk since they have similar policies for them compared to buying new
yeah, the protection plan is also so worth it. just wait a few years and return it for an upgrade or if it is broken return it right away
Mine has a open box 4080s for 900
Mine has a….
Never mind:(
Well open box stuff are kind of used ofc
open box
But their bundles are where the money’s at
mine got an open box xtx for 688 😭
i mean for 688
my xtx was like 1100 at the time i think
Also their bundles are incredible sometimes like my 7800x3d bundle i got last month came with a tuf b650 mobo and cl32 6000mhz 32gb ddr5 for 480
If i bought them all separately even on discounts would end up paying 150-200 more
i find that their ram is pretty bad though, every bundle ive gotten has been pretty meh
So it technically covered the cost of a typical mobo
but like thats not a bad thing really for the price
They allow you get a different ram kit and still get the discount on the cpu
I didn’t know at the time so still got the cl32 like a sucker
ah ok fair

the x3d doesnt handle low timings high speed amazingly anyways
Yh the cpu discount is insane
damn lmao
doesnt ddr5 in in a different way than ddr4 and so the higher latencies don't matter as much?
How’s a 2070 super for $150 sound
Interesting
Heard abt that and apparently the speeds dont influence performance with x3d chips according to reviews
Still need to look more into it to be sure
Yes and no
5600mhz+ cl32 or lower (no higher than 6400) is ideal, since it's hynix die and can be tuned easily
6000c32/c30 is best value atm
I paid like 100 for my cl32 6000 ram and discovered a month later i could have bundled in a different kit, do u think i paid a bad price for it?
However if you compare a system with 6000c30 and another with 6000c36 that are otherwise identical, you likely won't see a difference (unless benchmarking/looking for the difference in numbers)
Nah
Oh cool thx
You could go into bios and follow a quick yt tutorial and bring the timings down fairly easily
How much does cl30 cost usually?
Like 10-20min easy
$84-92 from silicon power
Is it mobo chipset dependent?
Almost any b650/a620/x670 could do it
Nice
Even the cheapest should be able to
Cpu oc is a different story lol
Even then there's very cheap options, like b650m hdv (unfortunately always oos or overpriced) holds 7950x oc world record
I honestly dont want to go down that rabbit hole 😭
Yeah cpu oc isn't really worth it unless chasing numbers anymore
The extra L3 cache "hides" the extra latency from using slower memory, so the memory itself has less impact but it still does have an impact on performance
When are we getting 32gb of L3 cache
eta 2062
Will we even need ram at that point 😭
1tb of ram when
finally 2tb ssds under 100$ again
Sub $300 3080
Ventus though
Very hot even if you paste and pad swap because the cooler is aluminum
Very little copper

Okay, so asking for best info.
Is there any way to tell when a deal would end or not? at least on newegg
Specifically wondering if two specific GPU deals would expire by the end of the month?
It usually either says on the product page when the sale ends, or the sale is only "while supplies last." I've seen sales end early because they were so popular.
A month is quite unlikely, but there should be different sales by then.
Well, not the whole month, just for another 2 weeks moreso
Specifically this
https://www.newegg.com/zotac-geforce-rtx-4080-super-zt-d40820q-10p/p/N82E16814500581
And this
https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-4080-rtx-4080-16gb-gaming-x-slim-white/p/N82E16814137843
Would it be best to assume the sale price on the Zotac would end with the Black Myth Wukong Promotion's end?
If it's not stated when it will end, you could maybe contact customer service to get information on a planned sale end date
But do note these are not firm dates
They are often paid and planned
But subject to change
These will be the second type of sale, "while supplies last"
Yep
https://a.co/d/c7nxW3X cheapest 4080 super yet

Saw that, but PCPart Picker ripped it out a bit afterwards, and the listing on Amazon seems sketch as it's seperate from the main one
Seen cheaper from zotac
Sub 900
💀
It's genuine. Amazon.com supplier
So bigger question is would either run out in 2 weeks (or is there any way to track supplies and get a supply warning)
There is no way to track it
Either way, not the most confident in Amazon for GPUs with reports of getting reseller GPUs despite being "from Amazon"
To the same effect you buy from anyone else
It can be sold by third parties and shipped by Amazon, that's where the complaints usually are
Either way, main problem with this one is that it's a quad-slot chonker of a GPU versus the Zotac or even the MSI "Slim"
Like, it runs cool and is in white, but gonna need a bracket or vert-mount for that (and ample depth in either direction)
Only seen warehouse sub900
@rare plover only pick a slim model if you are completely size restricted. The thing ones are noisy and hot for large GA102/103
A gaming slim is literally a ventus btw
Ak, so go for the Zotac?
Shared cooler, upgraded vrm
Zotac trinity is fine
Gaming slim is almost essentially lipstick on the pig 💀
https://www.ebay.com/itm/155985525984

Where can someone get switch games at a discounted price?
Gamestop just lowered the price by 5 dollars.

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
@marsh sphinx
Aio is very unnecessary on that cpu
i assume it cools it down a pretty good amount?
or it doesn’t
It doesnt really make much of a difference
Am5 is super easy to cool
A 214xt tower cooler would be fine, $17
Just included bc of the aesthetic they wanted
Np
Glass on two or more sides.
ohh
Montech xr fits the bill
Alternatives include neo qube, sky two, king 95, xt view
View 270
Good few others as well
Antec c3
I'm a fan of the xr, view 270, and c3 in terms of price for what you get atm
But all of them are fine choices
he likes it but he doesn’t like how expensive the gpu is, he said the cpu was good but worse core wise too but i don’t know about that stuff
@marsh sphinx what's the pc for
@marsh sphinx yep my list is hardly any different
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tBvzt7
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Zalman P30 MicroATX Mini Tower
He can either have a compromise of aesthetics and acceptable performance or he can have one and not the other
I can't even fully affadavit this case, but this is the only way it goes to sub 1k if he wants it to look a certain way
1K is a very hard budget to fit aesthetics, performance and quality all into one budget for alyx like this
So it won't really improve unless the budget is blown way out or expectations of aesthetics are dropped way down
$1200 and it really doesn't improve from here
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jx9hCd
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Zalman P30 MicroATX Mini Tower
Can stretch to 7500F off aliexpress for an extra 40 *less or so, with no loss in perf, that's about it
That might have you get enough for one specific type of infinity fans
Yep just barely

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Zalman P30 MicroATX Mini Tower
i’m sure he can probably buy fans separately
I mean if they prefer, but only infinity fans I recommend these days are M12s
they run in white?
Aesthetics are already getting rather dangerously close to 2 whole performance upgrades
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZmFF7R
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, Radeon RX 7900 XT, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
Yes they have white and black
Core count is irrelevant
ah
alright
now he’s wondering if he can get the gpu in white
Irrelevant in this discussion
he wants an all white build
But the 7600, 12600k, and 12700k all game very similarly
Not the 6700xt one
And am5 makes more sense
If we put a white gpu, it means there's a good one in white available
If not, then there's not a good one available at that price
Both me and bacca make attempts to fit those sorts of preferences in if available
He just boosted his budget to 1.4k for a nzxt aio lmao
That's xtx money
yeah
Can't think of a single situation I'd recommend one so if that's what they prefer ig
ig he likes to be able to see his cpu temp
he wanted aesthetics as well and he got a new job with me so
he kept spamming that pic i sent
$300 for an AIO to show temp. Ouch.
this one
Yeah wouldn't matter which nzxt it is
Only NZXT I recommend are c series gold psus or the rare usb controller, nothing else
There is always a better choice
Thermalright does what NZXT likes doing for less, as does id cooling and evga
Montech have better build quality cases as well
Next cheapest aio with an lcd display
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JVwmP6/nzxt-kraken-280-rgb-9079-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-rl-kr280-w1
Still wouldnt suggest it
Either of them, but id take the sl240 out of any of the options with an lcd display
Worse performance than the 240 aqua
Yeah
What happened to the deepcool one?
Yea they can't do any business anymore
Yes
Oh forgot about that
@azure pond you put the same link twice
Ye they both lead to the 4060

hey guys I need some advice
so I do have 1660s and ryzen 5 3500x I wanna upgrade my gpu like 4060 or 3060 but I have some concerns about bottleneck imma play on 1440p
so which one would be better choice
I might have some bottleneck problems for sure but I don’t really mind it if it’s not a big case
What kind of PC is this and how big is your power supply? 1660S isn't a very demanding card, might need to upgrade your PSU as well for a new GPU.
1660s have similar power usage as 4060 . so if you chose 4060 you probably wont need upgrade power supply . and yes at 1440p you need upgrade gpu first
1660super is 125w , 3060 is 170w , 4060 is 110w
1660s to 4060 doesn't require psu upgrade at all
Neither of those gpus is properly 1440p capable
so 650W, 16gb ddr4,gigabyte B450 M H motherboard
Ya, you're good. Any reason for sticking with nVidia over AMD?
AMD generally gives more performance for the money except for Ray Tracing. WOuld be a better option
so I wouldn’t encounter any problems, such as bottleneck right?
not really actually
4060 goes for 280 bucks on amazon
and I was like maybe I could change my gpu
Ok first
A bottleneck will always be present in any computer
Whether it's cpu, ram, gpu, storage, etc
3500x is an ok cpu, not the best but is acceptable for a mid range gpu
1440p is more gpu heavy than cpu heavy. Neither the 4060 or 3060 should be considered when you're targeting 1440p gaming
Honestly neither should be considered period, unless you need a cheap nvidia card for some workstation task
This is around 40% better than a 4060 and will run 1440p decently
https://www.ebay.com/itm/387248528833?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_WbF24AfQmC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=r8em-zv_qyc&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Yes your cpu will be a bottleneck, but that just means you'll upgrade cpu next.
90 day warranty on refurbs, just so the OP knows
Yes, I thought about that, but for me, changing the processor is a bit of a challenging process. I tried it before and it was quite a hassle. In my current situation, just changing the graphics card to get average FPS in new games would be sufficient for all my needs.
just for gaming and yea 3500x is pretty mid
this one looks alright https://a.co/d/cOBFysi
If you want new, the RX6750XT give you more performance than the 4060 by ~20% ish.
It is overpriced. Very.
It performs 0-10% better than the 3060 while costing the same
The 3060 was already poor value
The 4060 is just newer and has less vram
3070 is 30-40% better.
Otherwise a new 6700xt/6750xt/7600
All three smack the 4060 around
its very interesting that 4060 and 3060 goes for same price
$300 will put the 4060 in the dirt. On sale too and a great 1440p card https://www.amazon.com/XFX-Speedster-QICK319-Graphics-RX-675XYJFDP/dp/B0B34M1YLW/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=6750XT&th=1
I’ll check it out thank you for recommendations
This is also good, but imo still too little for 1440p
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jKqrxr/powercolor-fighter-radeon-rx-7600-xt-8-gb-video-card-rx7600-8g-f
That's around 10-20% better than the 4060 depending on the game
And this is a $280 6700xt, around 25-35% better, and has more vram than the 7600/4060
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RFGbt6/xfx-radeon-rx-6700-xt-12-gb-speedster-swft-309-video-card-rx-67xtyjfdv
The 6750xt vintage linked is fine, but it's not much better than a 6700xt
Only a few % difference
Finally SSD prices getting bit better
About time
yo guys if you find a good ssd deal in canada ping me please thnx
@normal spear fake seller
I need to get better and not just jump on a deal 😭
Why can they can away with that, anonymity?

Lovely
how much should I sell my pc parts for if I never installed them into a pc?
this person keeps bothering me saying "you cant sell this as new" but i literally have only ever taken it out of the box to make sure it wasnt broken, the cpu wasnt put in a mobo or anything and he cant drop that
Usually the categories are Brand new in box, open box, and used, so go by the open box prices
Yeah it would fall as like new or open box
he’s giving me this
You can most likely get more money out of someone else for it, but don't say it's BNIB or anything, just say open box, never used
Then you can ignore them
Idk what you’re selling or its values but I wonder about people selling things online, even “brand new,” at anything close to retail (sometimes even more!) because sure, its never been opened or used. Even 100% true, you’re asking me to take all the risk that its not defective. Unless you’re willing to refund and take it back if it doesn’t work or even exchange it, if you have another available, im not buying. Unless you can make the risk worth it. Otherwise, im just going to the store or buying from an online retailer that will jave some kind of exchange/warranty process. I realize the manufacturers have warranties. But, those can be dependent upon having registered the product with a legitimate receipt from a licensed reseller. Even if they do honor the warranty, your dealing with the manufacturer not a retail outlet. How long of a delay is it before you can get it fixed or a replacement and usually if it’s a replacement, its refurbished or similar. So, lets say you’re selling something that retails for $300. Im not paying more than maybe $250 for it, depending.
Just my opinion, not trying to say thats how it is, or should be. Just my thought process when im looking at stuff.
*disclaimer: not including collectables and limited items, 😂
The risk is easy enough to mitigate. Just use PayPal or something that offers buyer protections. If it does turn out to be defective, and the seller is uncooperative, file a claim and you'll get the money back.
If I'm selling something, I'll typically include the original purchase receipt as well so you can claim warranty support later.
Or, I'll offer a warranty on things that I refurbished.
Lol, thats why so many don’t use PP, etc. and want zelle or cash-app.
And while I commend you for that, in my experience, thats not most sellers
If they want alternative payment I just ghost them
good practice is to just go by r/hws rules lol
Also the still rampant obvious scams. "My cousin will pick it up with a certified check in hand" yeah sure. And it's totally not fake.
Pretty much yeah, hws is fairly safe because of how restrictive they are.
Example, I always see this guy posting brand new, in box, dewalt tools. And not that im looking tight now, but i’d never buy from him. But, apparently people do because he keeps selling stuff…
Oh well that's an easy one to answer. Amazon does nothing because they make money off the scammers too.
Not for ~$30
Oh, no just showing amazon as an alternative price. This guy sells on the Nextdoor app
Oh I see
Obvious scam is obvious, but not everyone has the mindset of watching for them
Oh, and i get 10% vet’s discount at HD, so that reduces the difference even more. Lol. But that’s besides the point. No, i think he’s legit as he’s been selling for years, and i’d like to think ND would step in otherwise or that i’d see people talking about it. Im just saying for a $10-$30 discount, i’d rather just buy it from a store.
Not $30 total but a discount of $30. I was a bit confused there I think.
Happens to the best of us! 😉
It was a ryzen 5 5600
they’re usually $120 USD
oh yea, dumb off topic question, any way i can make my internet better
not the connection from my pc to the internet but my actual internet

Are you getting speeds under what the plan from your ISP is supposed to get you?
i’ve only seen the internet be good for connecting to websites
