Question, I'm trying to buy RAM and this sounds dumb, but I'm using a AMD series cpu with an x570 motherboard.
My question is, do I have to buy RAM that is compatible to cpu/motherboard?
Please excuse my rant, I'm very new at this 😆
no, whats your budget for the ram
Anything less than 200
what cpu?
^
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zcH8TW/gskill-ripjaws-v-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16d-32gvkc if its a 5000/3000 series non apu this would be nice
Ryzen 5 5600, but going 9 5900 eventually
kk
that works then
tho tbh not worth the upgade if youre gaming
from 5600 to 5900 that is
Yeah, I plan on doing some video editing.
My current build is sluggish, and have to keep my apps to a minimum.
whats the build?
I have asrock x570 steel legend, nvidia rtx3070, triedent z neo ddr4-3600 16gb
mm, with the tasks youre doing its most likely cpu or ram then yeah
Standard fans for now, but going aio in the near future
wait if you already have 16gb of ddr4 3600 why are you considering new ram?
If anything you could add another 16gb of the same RAM you already have, but 16gb is sufficient for most
Yeah, for gaming it's perfect. but not the same when i tried to edit videos.
Ok, so if anything upgrade the CPU and get 16 more gigs of the same memory
4x16 running 3600 might be a bit too stressful on the imc, no?
The other alternative to that would be maybe a 2x16gb kit of a cheaper brand of memory
Maybe, it generally runs fine at 3200 doesn't it?
depends on luck
It'd be best to figure out if it's really the RAM limiting it right now though, could easily be the CPU
So upgrading RAM right now might do nothing
16gb for photoshop is really not enough
I plan on upgrading my cpu, ram, and cooling system all together.
Was just scrolling through newegg for some RAM and saw that some were labeled "intel xmp compatible" or "ryzen compatible." And was wondering if there was a difference.
Gotcha, yeah don't worry about that. Doing it all at once sounds like a good plan to me
@mossy venture @rich void yeah, it's a slow process, but very exciting.
Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it 🙏
Yeah thats just marketing, dw about it
will 3080 work on 650W
Probably if it's a good one with low cpu wattage if you're lucky
If you lower the power limit sure. It better be an A tier unit though, or it'll risk shutting off under load from transient power spikes.

well i was gunna get this "kids build" and use this for now bc i have to build all the pcs at the end of the day but i could use this had its more modern or one moment
I have no idea what the end of that sentence is supposed to mean
one moment
sad thing is my pc i wanna build my aio is gone its on newegg but for $216
im confused
the AIO is on amazon but PCpartpicker saying out of stock
It takes time to update the prices on pcpp, and it doesn't know every link to the same item
well i clicked on the product that says out of stock and it has price with it
I can build this but its gunna take a longer to build but
Let me explain
im building 3 computers
1 for myself and 2 for the kids
I get that, it's the "but I could use this had its more modern or one moment" I was confused about.
it is more modern rn my computer is i7 3770 and ddr3 and pcie 3.0
Oh you meant and instead of had
brain to words typing out some times get lost in traslation
@wide sparrow whos build is that

i edited it. the name is there
LOL
solid 10/10 build
i was thinking about getting that case but GN said Y60 has some thermal issues and that the o11 is a better choose
eeeeehh
nothing is perfect
theres not going to be an extreme temp difference
Howdy Ho, was someone gonna bit the MX410 Mesh bullet?
still within acceptable ranges, kenzie

This is one of the most unique cases we've reviewed in a while. The Hyte Y60 is of high build quality, but also missteps in several key ways. Still, the Y60 does new things in the case market.
Sponsor: EVGA X570 Dark: https://geni.us/C8Tq
Hyte is owned by iBUYPOWER, but the difference is that the Hyte team is actually making things that -- thus...
i want ittt
okay im about to buy pc and i just wanna double check that the i3 cpu does come with a cooler
i3 12th gen
so is this pc still good guys https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Yw7sKp
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, Cougar MX331 MESH ATX Mid Tower
I did it
thats 1 computer off the list
Hey i want to know something : for now i have a GTX 1080 and i want to upgrade to a 3080
Until now i made a new pc with a Ryzen 9 5900x , and now i want to change my 1080 to a new gpu but i don't know if the are the same in term of performance;
I have 3 gpus i want to chose from :
1:ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 V2
2:EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING
3:ASUS ROG STRIX NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 V2 OC Edition
They are in from 1000 to 1200 euros on the France Amazon.
What gpu should i chose or it doesn't matter?
@humble hearth when it comes to overall boost clock the strix is your best option
White strix gpu is most beautiful card
I always wanted one. never got it
nice
Best temps and best looking card

mhm
@wide sparrow JP can you help me
ok
so ill have to buy 4 fans for the pc then
also should i do a 4 intake and 1 outtake system
one intake isnt enough. needs to be balanced
yea i was gunna buy a 5 pack of p12
the two in the front are intake, while the 3 in the back are exhaust
@fossil cedar @frank stirrup finally done cleaning that pc. #build-pics
is 3/2 still okay for a case
a nice good repaste decreased thermals by 14c idle
5 in total, sure. the diagram for whatever case you have does show a max of 5 120mm fans
im gunna have 1 fan extra from the 5 fan pack bc theres already 1 installed
gunna have to get fan hub or something
Yes
Oh no we have an issue
The ssd has no heat sink the GPu heat will be pouring into it
I hope it doesn't over heat
no
not an issue
also the m.2 will be above the gpu
I had it in my last pc my ssd got to like 65C max but that was about it
thats ok
nand likes to run a lil hot
nand is the type of storage chips that an ssd uses
Much better
I"m waiting for my 5000D to come in so I can take the defective argb that work as rgb fans out and put them into that instead
Stonks
then I'm selling it for $600 and a EVGA 1650s
NAND is part of it, yes
But basically all SSDs use some type of NAND
Oh
Battery backed DRAM is a thing too
But these are generally either dedicated servers or with old stuff you would slot in a small cache
I have one of those modules somewhere
Literally looks like a weirdly shaped SODIMM with a battery on the back
Those are fun. They don't really have a limit on TBW like other drives, at least not one I've seen
TBW as a whole is flawed
Yes it is but it's all we've really got to measure with
Fair
But yeah, enterprise as a whole takes a lot to break
With a ton of overprovisioning, overbuilding and brutal QC
Which costs reflect
Howdy ho people
Intel Core i7-12700K Alder Lake 3.6GHz Twelve-Core LGA 1700 Boxed Processor - Heatsink Not Included - Micro Center

⛽
How do you guys add the custom entries into pcpartpicker? Like let's say I wanted to put a "Used 1070" into the list, how do I do that?
Bottom of the list, "add custom part"
Will have to be logged into pcpp though iirc
@cyan ravine on mobile too, you just need to be logged in
Ohhhh
No wonder
Guess I need to make an account at some point then
I've been wondering about that for ages haha
heh

PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100, Radeon RX 6500 XT, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
Are these dumpster fires or no
what else are you supposed to do with under $650 with amazon only
12100f is more expensive on amazon iirc
At least it's on a 4.0 platform
nah
pcpp just weird
Click them, might need to update the prices or it's out of stock
Idk 12100f appears on amazon website for me but it’s from third party seller
Looks fine tho
Lots of ratings for the seller at least?
yes
Should be fine yeah
Ok well aside from the fact the 12100 is overpriced is the rest of the stuff acceptable
Both builds are mainly for apex and other esports titles
rocket league valorant etc
if okay with rebate, cxf better imo
you get full mod which is really nice, esp for a matx build
What does fully modular have over non modular if they’re not going to be getting custom cables?
Is it easier to route when it’s not attached to the psu
less crap in the shroud
i’ll skip the rebate
One of the builds is for someone who probably isn’t even going to attempt the rebate sooo
2/3 people don't, that's what they count on
Think that I found the two people … lmao
Probably better just to stick with the tuf
I think they would both care less if they had fully modular or not
Not like they know what it even is so no harm done
tuf is a cx greatwall which is nice
Once it's built it's unlikely they'll care yeah
i know that both of the builds are kind of iffy in a sense but as long as it hits 120fps in apex on 1080p for any settings both builders will be very happy
They come from xbox one, not great performance there
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Yw7sKp was $681 but gpu gone
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, Cougar MX331 MESH ATX Mid Tower
i could of gotten cheaper but parts wouldnt have shipped until june 21st

Budget build time
B stock might have a 3050 for $200 something
To be fair all builds are budget
💀 CV
at least the 650 is much better than the 550...
Lol my friends are too lazy to watch for drops
And i’m too broke to buy it for them
Well they can buy a 3050 when one becomes available for $350 and up
Ew
Nah

6600 for $300 is much nicer
Lol an 11 year old waiting for gpu drops? nah
They aren’t even buying it themself so I doubt their parents will be spending time to wait for stock drops
Idk man i’m not the one buying
I tried to explain to them that they could wait a day or two if stuff isn’t in stock but they’re not into that
Dudes like a 6th grader who just wants to play apex
Then that dude is a 6th grader that needs to learn the values of a dollar and patience. It'll cost more for less being impatient.
They’ll learn with time
6th grade is the perfect time though
Im not personally spending an hour or more with them to explain how to save them $50 over discord
Im pretty sure his parents are just getting a shopping list for amazon
Yeah it's not your job to teach him
I mean your first pc doesnt have to be the perfect build
Mine is far from perfect and far from ideal
it’s not a build but like you get the idea
I started with a prebuilt from iBuyPower that I traded a buddy my PS3 for
Phenom processor and all
I think I'm aging myself by saying, but that was a college friend too. Back in the good old days.
Good old days
I'm still a millennial... Technically. Just one of the first years you were considered one. Borderline gen X.
Im going to blame my cpu here and just call it a day
keep trying to convince myself i don’t need to upgrade but my stupid computer is telling me otherwise
Sheesh
Isn't it funny how that works? You start shopping for an upgrade casually and then it breaks
buy a i9 12900ks
Pull out another round of copium
😔
Anyways thanks for the help/guidance guys, gonna head out now
This is why I'm not bothering with cable management, I know I'll do something like that
The side panel closes? Good enough
I cable manage the front and just remember where each wire goes in the back
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/LLGMFg thoughts? the gpu ram and cpu price is all on gpu
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070, HYTE Y60 ATX Mid Tower
I know you can get a lot better system for this price
id wait till @fossil cedar gets on to take a look
hes the resident EU expert

You can get a lot better system for this price, but its my first build so i want it to look good
I took of the plastic film I think it's the manufactures fault because j had stable temps the first week
And i would want to watercool it one day
the best method
Ya know, here is the thing. I have always thought of my computer as a continual work in progress, always needing updating, improving, and expanding. But, right now, even though I don't have the "best" stuff, what I have works as far as what is in the box. It plays the games I want, it runs MSFS fairly well, and I didn't have to spend more than $1200 for it. Now, everything I need to improve is outside of the tower, and it all involves more hardware for my simulator, and that takes time and money. However, I still find myself constantly going to newegg and amazon looking at computer components, and remembering that I don't "need" that really big 3080 ti; that's the case, usually after I have spent about an hour looking at different computer parts Now, what I have, though it isn't fancy with lots of unicorn puke and glass panels, does the job well. While this is a good position to be in, meaning that I don't need to spend exorbitant amounts of money on overpriced pc parts, it does make me sad that I am not really in pursuit of the seemingly unachievable "perfect" computer setup.
Well buy a keycron keyboard and get thrown into the hobby/enthusiast category of a keyboard enthusiast
Perfect setup will never be achieved
I firmly believe that there is always something else that catches your eye. Humans are greedy, enough is never enough
You'll reach that perfect and have everything but then you'll see someone who does it better and in your head it's just "AAGHH I want THAT one"
I’ve built a very limited number of pc’s, and I’ve found pretty much my happy stopping point… but it’s a pretty expensive one
Smh why just sort low to high and use filters
Was busy have exam
There's really no point putting a aio on a 12400 but i assume you like it for the looks so, if you don't really care you can replace it with a gammaxx 400
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/Lgy2k9
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070, HYTE Y60 ATX Mid Tower
Smh, is finished now?
Walking to college rn to giv
Good luck
Tanks
I think aio is better in y60
Sure if you're willing to spend the extra in looks that's your choice
Just giving alternatives
Heck it.. just get a full custom loop for it...
Im thinking about it ngl
But my gpu has built in aio so might have to trade it out
I was talking about doing it for the 12400 haha
Yea ik but just sayin
But since my girl bought me the 5000D airflow I'm going to start looking into a custom loop.
Plus it would also be 600 dollars for custom loop
For just cpu right? I was under impression for a quality budget loop for gpu/cpu it'd be at least 800
Must be nice
Uh i think so
Not quiet sure how much it would be for my gpu tbh
I mean it would just mean looping in a gpu waterblock right?
All I did was send her the link while it was a on sale and said this is the case I've been eyeing and it's on sale. Next thing I know I'm getting a screenshot of it being ordered lol
Lmao nice
Yeah, but I think you'll want another rad as well.
Probably
Honestly imma just wait till my gpu warranty is up and then do that cuz of the aio it has
That sounds the smartest.
Does it allow for aftermarket connection to the waterblock?
Lmao having to
You are?
Nah
If i mess with aio and it leaks imma have to buy new gpu for sure
Since the connectors for aio tubes are inside gpu
Sounds like it'd be cheaper and better to be safe than sorry to just grab a waterblock you know will work.
Yea but also dont wanna take apart my gpu to add new waterblock
So id probably just trade somebody the same model but the air cooled one
Oh dang there isnt an air cooled one 😅
:P
Limited edition one is only water cooled 😭
I can't see taking a waterblock off to much different than taking the air-cooled off?
I mean, harder
Eh gotta heat up thermal paste and it barely goes above 50c
Hm ok
Do it.
Could just unhook aio from chassis and fans so there is no active cooling going on to get that temp to raise faster as well.
Obviously watch the temp closely so you don't go to high to quickly yeah?
Yea once my warranty goes out
I need different ram ASAP
Sort low to high for 3200mhz minimum speed cas latency max 18 and select the config you want e.g 2x8 and pick the cheapest one
so pato i actuality saved $20 bc amazon had ram for $20 more so luckily i went with this ram instead
Nice
Price of the ram i chosen must have gone up
Which is why we say the lists are only valid for like a day or few at most
is it against the rules to post a link for my pc build here? just asking
*of, not for
Nope, that's allowed although because you haven't ranked up you can only link pc part picker, newegg and Amazon links
https://newegg.io/3eea5f7 1k budget build
You in the us?
i live in the us but in another country rn
But you'll be buying in the us?
yes
Okay 1 sec

PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
i dont have to worry abt storage i got hard drives
Anyone have a $6k budget build
usd?
Well you will at least want a 500gb ssd for Windows anyway
In that case you might do that
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3TpkDq
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
I'd personally opt for the 1tb ssd tho it's nice
i got 2tb hard drives
yes
Putting your OS on an SSD is a HUGE QoL improvement
There's no point spending 6k on a pc unless it's like a workstation you'll use for rendering/equations etc even then especially now with 4090 in like 2 months or so
Hdds are only useful as secondary storage
my dad said he’ll grab one for me so i dont really have to really worry abt ssd
https://newegg.io/103ff00 somewhat similar
Okay then exactly that list minus the ssd
Fr
No point spending more and just buying from newegg
hi
ik but its just somewhere to start with
Bad motherboard, bad case, power supply is expensive and no point in it
Sup
I gave you a list that's completely done lol
Hi honestly no, a lot of people ask for help here
im playing alot of games
I can’t imagine running windows on a hard drive
most office pc use hdd
True
fair
ill just wait until prices drop further
Not in my experience. The last three I have had over the last 5 or so years have only had an ssd
Even a balls to the wall gaming PC would cost ~3k and I'd recommend waiting because new cpus and gpus will come out in September that's even better
The ones at my office are all ssd
who wants this as a gaming pc
And they're like 4-5 years old basic dell/ho workstation
I gotta agree
List will probably not be valid then but you do you
I don't see why a company would buy a workstation without an SSD given how much it speeds everything up
Penny wise, pound foolish right there
i had that pc i thought i was in a office
A lot of office pcs out in the wild are still like 4th gen i3s with 4gb of ram tbf lol
Cause most companies don’t know anything about computers
That would be just fine for a office use
4gb of ram tho yikes
they used 2nd gen lga 1155
Well that's fair. My last employer had like a four year cycle for PCs
Current one idk, but my station dates to like 2017 I think
ddr3
They should still have some kind of upgrade cycle in place
When I was in a Public school are school had chromebook that couldn’t even load a tab without like 80+ cpu usage
I’m in a private school and I mainly see people with mac books while I am rocking my old gaming laptop
Well schools are ridiculously under resourced. They're not typical
Especially many public schools
Private schools are sometimes loaded, but it depends on the type of school
We have to bring are own computer
really i thought they have it setup different
email and pw
No
My gaming laptop costed 500 cad and had a gtx 1650 ti the performance is around equivalent to an 1050 ti desktop gpu as far as I am aware
Since gtx 1650 ti isn’t a d gpu and doesn’t have a d gpu verison
My current job still uses windows XP
Sounds about right
I would expect it to use windows 7 tbh
that’s past old
Some french airports still use windows 3
the french
Oui
french (derogatory)
Id use that if it had a 3rd gen or 4th gen i7
lga 1155
2nd gen @ripe spear
So 2nd gen/3rd gen
2nd gen
Can easily replace it with a i7 3770
dell it’s proprietary front panel
which that i7 can now cost in the used market for like 20 to 40$
🤨
office look
On a Optiplex you can still replace things like the CPU, Memory and GPU
Would you prefer this
You can replace the PSU but you need to buy a special connector since if i recall it doesn't use a 24 pin connector for the board
Also you're unaware that people does this to an Optiplex https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKQlEKPBZWM
Here's my guide on how to mod a Dell Optiplex gaming pc! If you're looking to add a plexiglass side panel on your Dell Optiplex then this is the video to watch! Let me know what you think of this one :)
NordVPN: https://nordvpn.com/zach
Video Edited By: John Lemuel
John...
yeah
I used to have an optiplex as my daily system, it was pretty nice
lemme see if i can find a pic
i still have it
yea im too lazy to go digging for the pictures nvm
it had a 3770, 12gb of ram or 14, i forget. and a gtx1050ti
ok i have a mag b560 tomahawk wifi
For 350-400 dollars, what's the best GPU you can get?
Rx 6650xt
beat me to it pato
I recently watched a video of someone using a RX 6400 with a i7 3770 and for games like GTA V on high settings was getting 45+ FPS
😛
If I could get a used 1080 ti for the same price would it be better?
If it was good condition
yeah
Idk the state of gpus 😅
Nope 6650xt is better and new for 400$
but it isnt nvidia 🤓
but muh nvenc 🤓
You could always get a 3060 for like 400$ from EVGA
6650xt better
Well another thing than performance is features that a person could also want
Like i use the Nvidia Broadcasting software so i don't have to play around with the sound settings in OBS to get my mic working right
amd has a great hardware encoder now too
For GPU's that has the support for it lol
6700xt if you go used
That’s really overpriced for what it is lol
Me with a $550 3060 in my main
heh, used?
Yes Used af 6700xt ❤️❤️👀
nah
What’s wrong with a used 6700xt
microcenter had like a $370 6700xt brand new not too long ago 👀
thats whats up
ayeee $370 for a 6700xt seems like a deal
I mean for a card like that model isn’t everything
6800xt and above is when I start caring
400$ for a brand new RTX 3060 is over priced?
kinda
Not really since it is still very affordable
I can't get my network adapter to work and I have no clue why. I have a B460M Pro4 which has 802.11a compatibility with an intel 9560. I've tried entirely replacing the 9560 network adapter and I've installed the driver more times than I can count but for some reason i can't even detect the adapter anymore. Would anyone possibly be able to help me out with this?
Newegg a couple days ago had a $410 3060 and A tier 750w unit bundle
That's a deal
I am building a pc for one of my friends their budget is $600 USD, let me know if I should change anything.
wrong thing sorry
Kinda
Depending on the game expect something like this but a little lower from the i5
I have been buying 6600xt’s for less than $400 and it’s arguably a better card
That is with the RX 6400 @light mauve
Something with like a 1070, and worry about the rest
Ok thank you
Getting a 1070 for $170-180 will set you up well
Really depends on the game and resolution
@quasi sun for 1440p gaming for high/ultra settings you can see the 3060 and 6600 XT is neck and neck
Yeah, that’s generally true
Yeah I have a 3060 for my 1440p personal
I enjoy it
I upgraded to that from my 6700xt
But with Nvidia cards there are features on it people might like more
I use this which when i would voice chat with someone or stream i sound really clear and also for streaming i don't have to play around with the OBS sound settings
I generally go nvidia for streamers I work with
And amd for my homies on a tight budget
The camera feature you have this
That AIO is not PG13 though
This case in his list the reviews doesn't match it https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811353210
This is the case he has in the list
This is in the review
Diypc is weird
I personally would go with this case https://www.newegg.com/black-cooler-master-masterbox-nr600-without-odd-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811119368
Side panel is easier to take off without worry of it dropping like that mounting setup and i like how the glass isn't going over the PSU shroud
Also it is a full mesh front panel and you can see in the second image what it would look like with RGB
No airflow for $90 or additional fans nty
You have 3 points for airflow
and with 2 140mm fans in the front it would be quieter
Check this out on @Newegg: DIYPC IDX6-BK-RGB Black Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811353221?Item=N82E16811353221&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-11-353-221-_-06062022
Still, for a solid front panel case I would rather get a H510 Flow
NR600 isn't a solid front panel
I just said it was a mesh front panel
Ohhh I thought it was the solid panel model
I only use the td500
And I think that’s a better looking case
Just so good
That is what i am using now
I just have o11’s on reserve
Rommy you mean like this lol
Have you seen the $150 z690i
This is how it looks now (except for the top fans which i did flip after that image i took)
You saw the new Lancool case right?
The meshifyC?
Rommy if you didn't see the Lancool III https://youtu.be/Oox5q1Sy0XE?t=74

Seems fine with the air cooler u have no?
I don't know why it says mothers day gift when the link says fathers day gift lol
But ya fill that up with water put in some ice cubes and it will cool down your room for 8 hours
I plan on getting one cause in the summer the day time is super hot and the night time is really cool
But that would also cool you down as well
Our eyes though
Wow, my friend would be malding if he heard that
Weirdos, lol. No idea on the malding comment. People act like D15 is always gonna be plenty for every cpu.
This my 12700K under the LF2 360mm
The minimum was caught middle of rendering when I decided to pull up hwinfo sensors
My friend is a noctua shill anti aio person
So, Im collecting parts for a new build, my first ever build, I need help though, i heard this thing called Static? Looked it up but i need some easy ways to keep a non static area? I have a fairly large mousepad, would that work? if not need some other ways
doesnt really matter all to much where you build so long as you dont build up static like wearing socks on the carpet and rubbing your feet on the carpet and then touching stuff
i have a wood table so im assuming thats okay?
ye
from a non experienced, that sounds just wrong 💀
again, just dont build up static like wearing socks and rubbing your feet on the ground and stuff. for the most part youll be fine
you sure?
@mossy venture can delete the msg(s). 🤣
You could even do most of your building in the box the motherboard came in. You don't technically need a case.
built 2 pc's on carpet and one on a bed, its fine
Okay, thank you!
whats a P?
have you bought all your parts yet?
not quite. Looking what i should get next with my 80 bucks i got from my birthday off amazon https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PJn8Q6
have you bought anything yet?

why so?
5600x more expensive than 12400 and same perf
970 evo not very diff from mp33, you wont notice a diff if youre gaming
case is opinion, if you care for looks 4000d airflow is good
I dont care about looks, just perf
mx330-g air good case then
if you wanted to spend $80 on an ssd, id go for the 1tb mp33 pro
okay
how to list in pc part builder that you already purchased an item?
Click the gear icon next to the price. Click manually enter price, and you can mark it as purchased.
ty
i have been looking at some of the gpus and i have stumbled upon the 6700xt for like 469 dollars is that worth

Just chat for a bit in general, you can usually get it in like 30 minutes
Forsure , thank you for the info @potent portal
Hello
@fossil cedar I know the CPU in the build is old, but I feel like the "lag" I feel is from the RAM. What do you think? Is it worth upgrading? I don't think this PC will ever need over 16gb.
Million $ Build - Intel Core i5-6500, Radeon RX 580
So aside from the question you're asking
That psu is E tier
For what you're asking, id say it depends on what you're doing
But imo it's more likely cpu
I would very much recommend replacing the psu before changing anything else
maybe it feels laggy to me because I'm used to my pc.
Please don't tell me you paid 40$ for a h212 evo 💀 also nah i think it's just the cpu, rams fairly decent for 6th gen
nono, this is the build I bought for $150.
Nah it is a 6 year old cpu after all
Makes sense
I'm just seeing if there are any cheap upgrades to squeeze what little performance I can.
I guess make sure xmp is on lol
Ahhh that explains the psu
and this bios is basic as heck and doesn't give me an option for any other xmp
@frigid night do a checkdsk on the ssd and also if you haven't reinstall windows maybe
Can you ask neo why they have me blocked?
Hmm
I just spent the last 3 days redoing everything on it from the ground up
it's like kosher to go to as new home.. there is just some little
uh
idk that word for it
sometimes it like hangs for a second
also
I did run Rawrs utilities
no errors or anything.
You ran chkdsk?
Hmm idk then
turns pc off and back on and does a test right?
Ye
do I run 64 or a64?
Uh 64?
Can you mention to them the psu in there is E tier
31/64 a32/a64
Apparently they have me blocked and I doubt they read the message
PSU has been used for years with no issues.
Reorxist has you blocked?
Idk why but apparently
Oop i mean psu won't affect the lag anyway
also, equipped with an arctic p12 that thing keeps the cpu around 40c with p95 small ffts
awesome
I"m going to munch on some cina powdered mini donuts and regret it when the sugar hits the one tooth that gives me issues
whats yours look like?
Looks similar or close enough to mine
oh ok
Some areas yours beats mine
guess I should have waited to ask lol
All good
hm. ok maybe is the cpu then.
look at updated pc in #build-pics btw :)
I like the rock candy
can have a snack while admiring your build 😛
NOU
no...
I LOVE them
lol
jk I"m tired and been cleaning all night
so I'm loopy
about to set up my dual monitor arms
that I got for free from newegg because they did an oopsie
go sleep then smh
nuuu
to much to do
I've been finding a good stable OC for the other build for several hours now.
the 580 8gb 0is sitting at 1457ghz and 2250mhz
at 1.13v
Emoted the crap out of it, you're welcome
has passed timespy at least for the last hour and a half. and temps stay around 68ish
I added an emote for you
sheee
If there were any errors on the chkdsk... how would I find those?
because I was not paying attention to it and now my PC is back into windows.
They should be auto fixed if it finds any errors
oh ok
well then I guess I'll see if the little hang ups here and there go away
Tomorrow I'm supposed to get my 5000D.. I am so excited
Pog
I still have to wait until friday for my thermal paste though
I used the last of what I had on this other PC.
I almost don't even wanna sell it, but the profit is 533% lol
I'm a little worried that I am going to have an issue with my cpu cables reaching from my psu to mobo in the 5000D.. They were already a little short for the 4000D
buy sleeved cable extensions
So.. it's ok to use extensions with a psu as long as I don't use different psu cables than what came with my psu?
Yes
you just made my wallet hate me even more.
so uh.. any good reputable sites to get nice extensions from?
cablemods is one of, if not the best, but they arent very cheap xD
my wallet already hates me
LMFAO
oh, also cablemods lets you pick the color of every single little cable
apologies to your wallet in advance
but if looking for other ones, pretty sure amazon has some. I’d let someone here who knows a bit more about amazon extensions reccomend them tho
hmm I'm almost thinking of the UV ones since I have a light...
I might just go with the amazon ones for now and look at cablemods later. seems like something I'll want to map out exactly what I want..
and my case shows up soon so I need something quick
@desert gulch I suck at the cords thing, but I can use the 3 smaller ones... 2 for my cpu and 1 for my gpu right?
oh, I need 2 8 pin for my cpu
I'll keep l[ooking
probs dont need 2
Second one is generally for extreme oc
but yeah im not really too well informed about who on amazon has the best cable extensions currently, so thats kinda out of my area
yup
I would like to have both hooked up as an OCD thing.
otherwise I will think about it and I will go nuts
It's the same cord for my gpu right? That was what I was trying to get at by my question. I know I don't NEED 2x8 plugged in. I just WANT it because I like the look and I don't know what the other reason is, but it's there lol
oh ok.. I for some reason didn't seee the specs
but it comes with 2 8 pin cpu and 1 8 pin EPS which I believe is for the gpu right?
as you link that pic lol
xD
alright.
I won't. that is why I am asking questions
I actually had thought that extensions were a nono
i mean some people probs dont like them
@celest horizon opinions of cable extensions?
Don't use them
I don't think my cpu cables on my a-tier psu will reach the mobo in the 5000D case though..
I don't feel like spending a premium on a premium psu when I already have one.. 😦
ughh I knew they were badd.. idk why I got my hopes up
I'll just hope they'll stretch their little hearts out without pulling.
Just get a $16.99 set lol
I don't want something that is cheaply made.
everything in my PC is rated quality.
Ok get some asia horse $21 ones
I do a lot of builds using those and I love them
Like 30+ pcs
is there a website or is that on amazon?
Amazon
seems like they only come with 4x4 gpu cable. I need a 6 pin
They have 6 pin ones
They always have at least one or 2
I keep getting eps/pci-e mixed up
So you see any u like
eh. I am going to see if my cables will reach and if they don't then I will grab whatever.. If I like how they work then I will probably order custom ones.
I am thinking of white ones though because the case that comes in tomorrow is white.
Dang, I have never ordered custom
White ones are great
but if I go custom then I will probably go a purple/green combo
Anyone know what might be the cause of random screen freezing on my new computer? I would have to press the power button on my case to restart the pc. Only happens when I’m using the web and not in games.
could be any number of things
id run a chkdsk
or just the batch file pinned in #windows-ios
hey guys, my hard drive is crap, can someone dm me a good SSD around 2TB that is good for gaming pc price around 100-300
@vital prawn edit your message thanks :)
Also, mp33 2tb
Hey guys I have a b550m pro4 and my wifi isn’t working. Just threw in an m.2 wifi card and I can see the wifi networks, but the signal is really weak and I can’t connect to any, and when I have connected it was only 1 bar of wifi for a minute
Had a usb wifi thing before and it was really weak too, I don’t think it’s the wifi because it works on my phone and ps4 in the same room
Might need antenna
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pQpPfv how good is thus build
bad
what could i upgrade
one sec
id spend the extra for this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K93YXy
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-X ATX Mid Tower
better build all around
stock cooler ?
for a budget build, its fine
yeah if you don't like stock coolers you can add extra few bucks for any tower cooler
the psu you had in your list is a literal bomb, the case is bad as well
hdds are not good for primary storage
1650 much worse than 6600 and not worth $210
I guess intel needs better looking stock coolers
1650 is eww
Can I use my WD Blue 500GB 3D NAND SSD for my Games?
why not lol
any ssd good enough for gaming i'd say
it will not affect your fps but loading times
Ok that's good to know cause my Laptop died on me an I was able to pull my SSD witch has Windows on it
you can plug it to your computer , format it and use it as regular ssd
Thats what I was thinking of doing but I Question I have driver bays for normal HDD/SSD an I do have a Hot Swap
I mean you can tie ssd to anywhere lol
OK thank you
ssds are not affecting by how it stands lol just make sure it have airflow around it
my hdd used to sit on the bottom of my case lol
Hey that's where mine sits at
Is that enough air flow?
is this any better @mossy venture
you didnt link anything
i would just do the list that i linked
:p
its not much better
psu is still terrible
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-X ATX Mid Tower
a little out of range
whats the budget
Around 630
i would highly recommend saving up a bit more
actually one sec
https://www.evga.com/products/productlist.aspx?type=8&associatecode=DCIZQ79WVS4ODJZ grab the 1660s off of here
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VKBV4s getting that gpu would do this for you
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
@earnest timber
You could also save some money going for used parts from last gen
mm
that too
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cQZYXy could do this if you really need to save the money, but id go for the 12100. Its a much better cpu
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-10100F, GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
doing the 12100f build with the 1660s youll be within budget
I'm thinking of getting this cpu cooler since people here recommended this to me since its cheap and reliable should I change it out or keep it as is?
believe this is a bit better https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Zr8bt6/id-cooling-se-214-xt-argb-682-cfm-cpu-cooler-se-214-xt-argb
alrighty thank you I think I'm gonna buy that rn since I've been meaning to buy another part for my pc
They're pretty similar performance-wise. The same "low budget but very acceptable" tier.
That RGB is nice though
Yea don't worry about it. Being limited to 500ish MB/s, sata ssds don't get really warm. Also they're often close behind the load time for a game on an nvme, partly because games don't have the "Direct Storage" thing yet.
Hi, Id like help finishing a Build before I settle on it and buy the remaining parts; though I need help on what mobo and gpu to get. was recommended a z690? not sure if a better option is avaliable now
also unsure if the p300a or p400a cases suggested is better
already bought the seagate 2T and the RAM but not the other major parts
whats the total budget
theres a lot id change
bout 800
800
if possible, id do this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7LbMFg
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
let me check it out
otherwise this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BCMkDq
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
extra 500gb of storage is very useful
tho you can always add more later
Theres a comp issue tho
its just pcpartpicker being stupid, dont worry about it
k
i can guarantee the board works fine with that cpu
yeah
is there anything that would be very good for roblox and like fortnite and apex?
or is that it
thats good for those games
k
overkill tbh
