System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
ok this is the build i bought
I already have a 6600 XT gpu so i can use it for a while,, until it sells
Looks like a pretty build
Be sure to post in #build-pics when finished so we can see it!
sorry for the ping, is this thing a virus, safe, or malware https://www.winzipsystemtools.com/sus/install.html?lang=en&buildid=53
obv a virus
Sus
Never heard of it
it claims to be part of winzip
Get rid of the unifans and get a gigabyte vision 3070 ti for 100$ more
And p400a would save 55$
🤷♀️
its probs just winrar bloatware trying to get on your pc by disguising as winzip
mmm
xD
already have a p400a sold it for p500a that's why
Ah okay
hm ok
😤 rip my super colorful useless fans
You'll already have 3 from the aio and 4 3 stock in the case
careful what you say. a “bra” is women’s upper underwear
What's a women
Asking for the server
literally delivered it to a whole other state
don’t know
sure it isnt there in transit?
now i have to wait like 2 weeks for a response
😂
lol itll probs be there at some point
yeah maybe a month or two
I’ve never even heard of DHL
now i'm broke
Life of a PC gamer
Lol yeah
Car prices rn are crazy
Im waiting for fuel prices to keep going up, should help V8 market
and i only have to pay to replace the ABS module and smthn with the speedometer
gonna cost like 1.5k total, i also have to paint some doors
because it won’t have issues for the next 100,000 miles

just Toyota things
was my moms car
i'm thinking a 350z
My trucks starter has more miles than the engine itself 💀
PSA don’t get a Mk3 Focus
Still?sheesh
i doubt its EU too, but its definitely getting to the point where itll be bigger drops for yall
Ref?
yeah
what price?
1k, so basically what 6900xts go for when on sale
vram gets hot
yea
Nah and I don't want lol too much
Is this compatible
And fit
Along with - add additional fans from Amazon,
- Lian Li UNI Fan SL120 3 Pack White - with Controller (ARGB 120mm LED PWM Daisy-Chain)
and - Lian Li UNI Fan SL140 RGB x1 140mm Revolutionized Daisy-Chain ARGB Fan - Black
please dont buy most of that
What’s wrong with it
Unlimited
everyone has a budget
Spend whatever as long as it is great
Good for streaming, gaming, and making YouTube videos
System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
Lakers suck
not really
Thats a good price for it
how
its a z490 10600k 3060ti build
thats a nice price for it tbh
that can be upgraded so easy lol
sheesh nice psu price
for a epic gpug unit too
Still one of the cheapest 3060 ti builds available on newegg right now
^
and most of the 3060ti builds have a 10400f or maybe 11400f
a 10600k and z490 is added value
i guess so
Yeah Z490 isn't bad at all, and storage is cheap and easy
brick it
The hyper 212 black is a good cooler for this too
Not like the ones that give a 120mm AIO just to say "liquid cooling"
Yeah but then you're getting non-k processor, but at least it's B560
eh, with neweggs history of open box stuff recently
id pay $10 more for a slightly worse cpu and non open box
Yeah it comes down to preference and if you want to take a chance
what's good rgb ram 2x16
tridentz
That's not as good do you have anything for that price with the specs or no?
In what budget? For what CPU and motherboard?
good some mf gave me OLOo blades
no clue wtf they are but they sound goofy
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
This would save you a few dollars https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pdfnTW/gskill-trident-z-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-4000-cl18-memory-f4-4000c18d-32gtzr
Or this one if you're not afraid of overclocking https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LGD7YJ/gskill-trident-z-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-4400-cl19-memory-f4-4400c19d-32gtzr
Ah the NC kit
ok
Oloy blades are actually really good ram if you pick the right ones. Good binned DDR4 b die or for DDR5 SK Hynix
If you're going for overclocking ram oloy is a decent choice actually
are the neo series good for trident z
Depends on the sticks in general tbh
i don't wanna overclock
Ofc, always
If it's 3600c18 no matter what brand it's bad
i'm going to brick my sh up
yo what's the difference between I7-12700KF AND F
K means it is unlocked (you can overclock it) and F means there is no integrated graphics
it's that a good or bad thing
it’s not good or bad it just depends on what you want
cause why is the KF cheaper
if its the same/similar price, get the 12700k
i don't wanna overclock
because theres no igpu
meaning
you dont have to overclock if you get a k cpu
get the cheapest one with K on it
integrated graphics card
Can you google some of this
Please
This is easily accessible on google
so which should i get
Are you gonna overclock the CPU
If not look up the 12700/12700F and save a few $
@little osprey this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZbddnQ/intel-core-i7-12700k-36-ghz-8-core-processor-bx8071512700k
12700f has less ecores iirc
nvm
i was wrong
the one that i linked
instead of the one that you screen shotted
since its cheaper
Yeah it's just 12600K that has the e core count increase
yeah
But yes cores are the same
Cause you guys all flocked to it
12700 will perform exactly equal with a stock 12700k
us 3 people
Server crash at 5 people
😂
great
System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
ok this is my build
a lot of this still hurts me, but if youre set on asthetics its prolly the best youll get
trident z?
The fact it's a Z690 and K but you won't be overclocking is also kind of a waste
3200c16 at that price would be terrible lol
true
Alright
could do a b660 and a 12700f easily
Quick question
everyone tells me over clocking is very bad
Then you could put more money to the gpu
no it is not, not if you do it properly
i need aio for lcd upgrade in the future
How do I access the setup log files when I first boot up my pc for windows
and i have a p400a case to temporarily stay with
It's free performance if you do it right
Overclocking (other than xmp) generally isn't worth it for most casual gamers
didnt pato explain a way for you to have the temps inside the case with a mini tablet
ok tell me
Not free
what do i need for over clocking
True
since everyone wants me to overclock this wasted build
what's ocing
12700f and b660 to save money, since youre not ocing
Overclocking
bro
i just answered that
do i keep my build if i oc
my brain is slow to function
wait i don't understand is my build good for oc or no
12700k and the z690, sure
but if you dont know what ocing is i wouldnt bother
too easy to break smthn without knowing what youre doing
Oc'ing gains are marginal in games
ok good thing youtube exists
only really worth it for benchmarking
Theres not really a ton to gain on modern cpus
DO NOT TAKE ADVICE FROM "YOUTUBE"
one of our members has a "broken" cpu due to a youtuber
Yeah
i'll watch youtube tutorial and oc
Ltt promoted a virus
oh
it sustained damage because of a youtuber
and now is worse than my cpu thats worse than his normally is
Check the pins in #overclocking if you want a intro
bruh
its like talking to a wall
Those ppl are beyond horrible
yall can do this, im out
Same
not for gaming
especially when pairing a 12700 with a 3060 ti
wont notice a difference
i have a 6600 XT
same thing
youre better off getting a 3070 ti and a 12700f with a b660
what's f and what's k
wait
i know
12700f cant be oced
yea
and doesnt have an igpu
Memory overclocking is good for gaming sometimes, and a B660 will still let you do that even if the CPU can't be overclocked
Yes but those are rarer and more expensive
Not big no
like 15-20%
3060ti on evga was 440
earlier
id just save money on the cpu/mobo and get a better gpu
I'd do something more like this:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/C42pH2
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6800, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
bro that aio price
You can keep the white theme and get your lcd
Ikr but he wants it
And the 240mm is barely cheaper
the h150i is $190

...
He said he wants the lcd upgrade tho
the h150i has that
also a 6800 for $800 isnt worth it
6900xts are going for 1k
and 6800xts can be gotten off ebay for $750-800
i just sold a brand new 6800xt for $760 on ebay lol
also the psu isnt worth at all
d.f 850 is the same price
Ok don't do mine
😂
nothing to feel bad about, just letting you know
I know I'm having fun
I do see more money the same way in changing mobo ram and cpu tho
Pump all that into a better gpu
yep
@mossy venture what air cooler would you put on a 12600K
ak620
Since ak620 is 155 on there now
or peerless assassin
if not ocing
if ocing, i wouldnt unless its an ak620 or dark rock 4 pro, but dr4p is overpriced
theres prolly some other good heatsinks
but none that i know of
true
my friends 5800x stays under 80c with his drp4
without ocing ofc
Guess you can fit a 6900 XT in my bad
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
That aio really does ruin the budget a few clicks wow
@little osprey look at this one instead
hes deadset on a white build
I got no idea what cooler then, the gpu would need to downgrade
this would prolly work https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gDNRv3
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
but still no aio with the thingy
There's that white cooler master one but I'm pretty sure people aren't a fan
Mine stays under 80 with a wraith prism
Hella nah that ain't no 5800x then
Either he never does anything CPU intensive or it's undervolted
I refuse to believe that's true
-ish
just wait
3060 ti isn't a worthwhile upgrade
it's not that worth for the price it'll cost you
3070 or 70 ti maybe
i would wait for a "4060"
ye
is it possible to put lian li fans on a h150i?
what's that
oh yeah
the sl120
ye
i saw this note
does the h150i pass it?
The H110i and H115i are 280mm models, so the H150i should be good
Looks like a yucky kracken
Either NZXT kraken or Gigabyte Aorus
that’s such a basic build
So many people have a white O11 with unifans and white aio with anime all over it
@earnest olive he's slandering your build ^^^
😂
Sure
except max doesn’t have anime on his pc and he doesn’t have unifans lmao
genshin is not anime 🤦♂️
it is
Ur anime
I did it lads finally after a month of work ☺️
(Ignore my body pillow I don’t have the power to cut it out)
what gpu?
👁️
6700 xt
also build chat bingo remake when max 😠
Using a m27q
Nice
Did u follow a recommendation for parts from us
o11 or p500a
Well I have been on discord talking to people for over a month now it took time to get a build that everyone said was solid
Both are good, pick your favorite
Haha because i was like damn these parts look good
O11 is more liquid cooling focused but works for air
Well thought out build
I’m glad to hear that ☺️
can’t wait to see the final product
does o11 support top mounting 360mm?
Yes, O11 Dynamic does
Are the df700 stock fans bad
They have the XL that's bigger, it will too
ah
no idea
It looks like the mini will also
Hmm
Also people told me to return the hdd and get a p300
From Toshiba
Said it’s quieter
You probably won't hear it over your fans
Ohhh okay
P300 exists but it's way more expensive, X300 is the one that's closer in cost
I was supposed to get case fan and ram yesterday but just when I went in the store they told me they switched systems and it will take a week
Sad moment
Dang, you could run it without a case but the memory is a little critical
I can get memory today or tomorrow
Hello
Is this pc decent
Ryzen 5 5600
Asrock b550m pro 4
Crucial ballistic gaming RGB 3200mhz
Samsung 970evo plus 500gb
Gigabyte rtx 3060 eagle
Montech air 100
Superflower legion gx650w gold
ID cooling SE224-XT
Depends, are you buying it second hand, as a pre built, or are you building it yourself
And if you're building it, are you buying all new parts or some used
I'm gonna assume you're building it new, in which case I'd do 12400/b660 instead
You're going to need more storage, id get a silicon power 3200c16 kit instead of the likely overpriced crucial kit if you're not overclocking it beyond xmp, and I wouldn't get that psu unless it's a or b tier
I dont have the time to check the psu tier atm
get free nitro - https://discrods-gift.com/501783

Discrods .com damn
@celest horizon
Get a life lmao also ur bio is cringe
@fossil cedar
@celest horizon
Oh sorry forks you were already pinged
My bad
@wide sparrow
Thanks
What's your budget then?
I can make you a list now
Was in class
i just need a general amount of what you want to spend
sg?
yea
ah, that changes things
that build seems alright then
ima take a look though
@latent sandal 1.2k in singapore $ or usd?
usd
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/k9wGLs so I might build a sff PC for me to travel with so it's easier to bring during weeks away from home
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, Thermaltake The Tower 100 Mini ITX Tower
1.5k in sgd
ok thanks for the help
god there are no psus in singapore
youll have to find a psu local to you
best i can do https://sg.pcpartpicker.com/list/JnXC6r
System Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 3060, Deepcool MATREXX 40 MicroATX Mid Tower
@fossil cedar might be able to do better
prices suck
actually there https://sg.pcpartpicker.com/list/WvsRv3
System Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 3060, Deepcool MATREXX 40 MicroATX Mid Tower
@mossy venture I'd recomend you look through shopee instead, pcpp sg only looks at importing from wegg
Or Lazada, but screw lazada
ohh really
didnt know that
alright begula, disregard those lists
oh yeah those shipping costs
i didn't even look at that
tfw lazada is good in thailand
but for sg it might be different i guess
i use both lazada and shopee, and both are great in my country
i think every single pc part ive ordered has been off of amazon, except for my case
since i got my gpu, cpu, and ssd from a pre built off amazon
wait
hdd and mobo are from reddit actually
I don have time to sift through shopee :l
Opinion, I have a pc with a obscene amount of rgb in it and made it that way as my wife teaches home school and the little kids do like looking at the light show. I have a place about 9"L 5"W that I was going to put two rgb ssd on but found a place that makes custom rgb plates and thinking of either getting two and two ssd or maybe just getting one to fill the whole spot. My question is shouldi go with PC company's logo like I have in there now, MSI dragon and GIGABYTE eagles, also Corsair ship, or go with something else? ( would have to be child friendly/ cute) like hello kitty, kuromi, rainbow, wiener dog. Wondering if I go away from PC logo's if it would clash with like my MB and eagle ssd or blend because of the rgb? Opinions?
Personally I'd go company logo
Is this worth to get https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali565/p/N82E16883360195
Congrats
Tyyy
Yes, nice price, nice case, nice build quality
The only thing is the cpu is it good enough
Yes
It's slightly better than the cpu I have paired with my 3060 ti
Okay probably the best for the price also how's fps
Depends on the games and what settings
And resolution
At 1080p max settings with Ray tracing off in cold war, lowest I saw was 90fps in multi player, average of 120 or so
In warzone, similar
In zombies I saw a low of like 75 with average of around 100
Is it worth if for the price?
Compared to any of the 3070 builds, it's much better price/perf
Yes
I wish I had gotten that instead of the build I had gotten
And at Newegg heard bad and good reviews about it
it is perfectly fine
ABS is the only pre built company i trust
i wish i had gone with them instead of the one i went with
i ended up having to replace everything other than cpu gpu and ssd
skytech is a terrible company
Can it run 1440p good enough
yes
personally i prefer 1080p, fps over screen size for me
but to each their own
Is it worth it to use 1440p or just get 1080p
depends on the size of screen you want
and what you do
anything over 24 inches, id say 1440p
24" or under 1080p is fine
as long as your face isnt inches in front of the monitor
Okay do you know fps on 1080p
the fps i gave were 1080p
for 1440p I have no clue
youtube could answer that
basically
the 3060 ti will get 60fps or higher at ultra settings in most if not all games
that build for $1200 is 100% worth it
Okay thanks for the help
prolly the best you'll get at around the price
Thank you for everything i really appreciate it
the only build youll get better/cheaper is if you build yourself
what you could do with building yourself https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kf3Vwc
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
and adding a better heatsink couldn't hurt
basically, better cpu, more storage, more ram
Is there a graphics card that could replace the one in this build in the $400-600 prince range?
@torn mesa that build doesnt make sense anymore
whats your budget for the whole build?
actually it never made sense in the first place lol
$1500-1600
4x8 is worse than 2x8 for ram, the psu is a bomb
kk one minute
if you can increase budget by a bit https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zDBsLs
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
or can save money by switching the cpu in the 3070 ti one back to a 12400
Do you know the performance difference between the two builds? In terms of gaming
3080 will be a good bit better than the 3070 ti
one sec, ill pull up a bench
wait do this instead of the first one, if you can https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nG7cbK
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
about 10% better than the 3080 10gb
iirc
passmark is annoying, but 3080 is like 10-15% better than the 3070 ti
passmark?
i’ll save up a bit more then,,
a reliable performance comparison site
thats the 10gb 3080 tho
one sec
apparently passmark doesnt have the 3080 12gb, but its like 3% worse than a 3080 ti so this works as a comparison https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/GeForce-RTX-3080-Ti-vs-GeForce-RTX-3070-Ti/4409vs4413
6800xt/6900xt is also a good option if you dont mind amd
6900xt currently in stock on amd.com for 1k
im on a budget cut bc i need other accessories too
ah
Might just go with the first build u gave
this is a decent build too https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L2tVwc
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
and not much worse than the 3070 ti one
also if youre going to go with the 3070 ti one, id just do 12400 then
since you want to save money you wont notice a huge difference in gaming
3060 ti is like 13% worse than 3070 ti btw
thats fine, i was looking for okay to mid range performance anyways
But in all tysm,, cuz i still dont know much about building pcs and ab part compatibilities
np
im running linux on my school laptop off a usb drive
Hi
How do I request this service?
i would think you press the box between gaming and provide
what is that on?
i would recommend just getting a pre built at that point
newegg
ABS pre builts on newegg have good price/perf generally (atleast the good ones)
and have good build quality as well as non oem parts
my school tried to restrict the laptop but they didnt restrict the boot menu options
so i put linux on a flash drive
need a recommendation, For my pc I am planning on building, My Intel 7 CPU I chose is a: Intel Core i7-9700 Desktop Processor 8 Cores up to 4.7 GHz LGA1151 300 Series 65W , I chose this mother board here: https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16813157898?Item=N82E16813157898 and people are telling me to get a different board, What board should I get that isnt way to overly expensive
please dont buy either of those
whats your budget for the whole build
and what parts have you bought already
here ill pm you
i dont see why you need to but alright
I had it planned on amazon since pc stores in my town are garbage
Motherboard I listed is from Newegg , and my PC I dont want too expensive, its just mainly for world of warships , world of tanks, warthunder,
please dont buy any of that
like, at all
whats your budget for the whole build
i will make you a parts list
3k
for that budget you have a 12700k and 3080 12gb very easily
what preferences do you have
white, rgb, etc
I want to do a black pc , the only RGB I want is from a CPU cooler, RAM
alright give me a bit
opinions? https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/WhPbKp
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
if you want rgb you can change the aio to the artic freezer ii 280-argb
ram theres a tridentz kit with rgb
thats 3600c16
and could save a good bit on the ssd with an mp33
970 evo will have better perf tho
not a huge noticeable difference
ooh I like that, Tho quick question, why does alot of people refer to I5 CPU cores? , is it cause their not too expensive and they perform decently well or am I missing something? , this is my first time ill be building my own pc and learning as much as I can while doing this
the 12600k has a higher core count than the 9700 as well as better performance
the generation is more important than the branding, the only time an i7 will beat an i5 is when they're in the same generation
iirc even a 12100f beats a 9700 in gaming
which is an i3
You sure about that? Intel stagnated for a looooooooong time there
11600k has basically the same perf as a 10700k
10400 has better single core than 9700
albeit very similar
Yeah I'm thinking more 6th gen to 9th gen
aah ok, thats really great , thank you
well considering up until 8th gen i7s has 4 cores as well, yeah
But yeah branding not so important. Performance is what matters
yes but I also find performance matters depending what people play or plan on running for the time being, Since its my first build its really just for warships , World of tanks which use an I5 , Warthunder a friend of mine runs an i5 and is more then happy with it , plus with how much I slave for work its not a real issue for me xD
The point is the exact i5 is what matters
There's a world of difference between like a 6600 and a 12600k
12600k beats any i7 that isn't in 12th gen
12400 is slightly better than 11700k even if I'm remembering correctly
Yeah 12th gen was the biggest step up in performance that Intel has had in a while
Yes
Not sure if this is the spot, but Im trying to figure out it all the parts I have for a build im gonna buy is gonna fit the case that a I chose !
Yes it is
What country you in i can help you put together a list?
And what's the budget
Or what's the case and motherboard, cooler and power supply
United States for me
I have the whol PC built out so let me get you the case and everything else!
Sure
MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR5 LGA 1700 Intel Z690 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard, Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB CC-9011204-WW Black Steel / Plastic / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm Liquid Cooler with LCD Display - Black, PSU, Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000, 1000W 80+ Gold,
3080 TI as well
That's all compatible but i would change some parts
What's your budget and have you bought anything yet?
Have not bought anything, with what I have for ssd and ram currently in that one with the i9 and windows its at subtotal 3500$ so 3500, 4k I would say
Pato outta curiosity, does the 12400 beat 11700k, price/perf aside?
You have ram and ssd already? What ram and ssd?
Umm idk of the top of my head i think it does in gaming yeah multi core probably 11700k
Nothing here should say in the cart with the rest of it lol. I had G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR5 SDRAM DDR5 6000 Intel XMP 3.0 for ram and 2 SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 1TB
Ahh yeah i wouldn't get those
I'll put together a list
Do you have any asthetic preferences?
Rgb etc?
i wouldnt buy ddr5 if you can avoid it
Not really if it is cool if not oh well. I just really wanna get a high end build with the 3080 to replace my current one.
Whys that, curious to know!
Not soo much for high end anymore
that ddr5 6000 is most likely worse than 4000c18
Hmm okay cool. Not the most versed in the knowledge of it all so I appreciate it
oc?
overclock
Aight
@gloomy root this is what I'd do, can swap out for 12700k too
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jmLW4s
System Builder - Intel Core i9-12900K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
tbh id do 12700k and 3080 ti imo
not a huge diff but there be more of a diff in gaming
3080 ti isn't worth the price jump
tbf neither is the 12900k :P
mm
Ik but they said they wanted that 12700k is also an option but 3080 ti is 300$ for 5% more
So you say the 3080 ti wouldnt be worth it for how much more it is?
prolly not
the 12900k wont exactly be worth it for you either
i wonder if 5800x3d vs 12900ks will have a bigger perf difference with next gen gpus
well, the high end ones
4090/7900xt
12900ks is definitely not worth it
And while 5800x3d is good i don't think it's worth buying into an very EOL platform now
just as in the perf difference
Sweet thanks Pato! im new to the building of stuff So with this build FPS and overall games that are pretty intensive be able to run it no problem?
Yes
what about 6900xt
It's a very nice build lots of upgrade ability and future proofing on it as well
6900xt is an option too yes
Okay cool i think im gonna go with this one. Glad i got pointed this way to come to the experts lol!
No problem
https://www.amd.com/en/direct-buy/us 6900xt has better perf than 3080 12gb (and 3090 after ocing normally), and is in stock for 1k rn
but some people rpefer nvidia ofer amd
Nah if going 6900xt spend 30$ more and get this model
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9QPQzy/sapphire-radeon-rx-6900-xt-16-gb-nitro-se-video-card-11308-03-20g
didnt know it was still on sale
Take note noobs. This is mostly how a 1st build should start. Modest cpu hsf & rig build outside of case, which is smart anyways because stuff happens
@fossil cedar is this the same one that you added or am i being dumb EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB XC3 BLACK GAMING, 12G-P5-4861-KL 12GB GDDR6X iCX3 Cooling ARGB LED LHR
Also those looking at 3080 ti, think about the 12GB 3080 instead when it's $999.
No it's not as good of a cooler, why?
Gotcha i see
I'd recommend the 1k 3080 12gb ftw3
The one you put in right! cool cool
Yup
Pato got another question for my own just knowledge
ask
The MSI mag z690 vs msi pro z690. Whats the main differences or which is better?
Vrms and the heatsink mainly msi pro z690 would be perfectly fine for 12700k but for 12900k I'd go tomahawk also tomahawk has wifi
Gotcha okay cool thank you so much very much appreciated !
Np
I also can't imagine AMD not getting an improved 3dvcache on future generations
they already said theyre gonna use the vcache on 7000 tho
A lot of the OC issues AMD talked about with the 5800x3d just seem to be from a lack of r&d time, so I fully expect the 7800x3d will have much better performance
Skipping 6000 series naming? Oh right that was mobile stuff huh
They want to catch up to Intel's number lol
i misread this
Ah
i missed the not lol i was like why wouldnt the use vcahce again
I thought you were just saying that I didn't have to speculate about it since they announced it
oh well that too lol
That and the tolerances are so tight because they're shaving down an existing chip to fit the cache on top. A new socket means they can design it around the cache.
@fossil cedar I got the rig you sent me, did i need to order like windows 10 for it too?
Do you need the little steel seiries USB adapter thing for the arctis 7? For wireless
You don't technically need to buy windows, but if you want to use the personalization menu you can get a key for like $5-25.
Is it recommended to do it this way instead of buying a whole new windows?
You don't buy a whole new windows
You just buy a key to use it's full features
Y'all think a it would be a good idea to use an 80+ Bronze PSU with an RTX 3050 and RYZEN 5 3600? Newegg recommended 333 Watts, which I'm kind of skeptical about, but it would be convenient because I already have said PSU. Corsair says its 550 watts.
Sorry, I'm rather clueless.
none of this would be a good idea
have you bought any parts yet?
and if not, whats your total budget
if you have, what parts have you bought and how much money do you have for the rest of the build]
Don't really have a budget, but I'm going cheap. I already have the GPU, case, PSU, and hard drive with a motherboard on the way.
CORSAIR CV Series CV550 CP-9020210-NA 550 W ATX12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Non-Modular Power Supply
can you return it
thatd do it
nvm then, itll be alright
what mobo
that id most likely return, especially if its a b450
or x470/x570
ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard
Any body have any recconmendations for 1300w+ psus?
For CPU?
yes
Yeah that's what I'm looking at
don't buy a 3600 new
What is a decent price?
5600 beats it by far, and is cheaper
agreed, kinda like how I regreted the fact that I bought me 3900x new...
3600 decent price is $130
Ok
only buy 3600 used
I'll go for a 5600 then
You would know right, you have a 3600
Good idea
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Brvqqs/team-mp33-512-gb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-tm8fp6512g0c101 for boot drive
Yeah I have some G.SKILL Trident Z Neo RAM picked out
that is a fine price for the cpu
what speed and timings
as long as its 3200c16 or 3600c16 youre fine
if its 3600c18 or 3000c16 dont buy it
Nah I don't care about that
then the kit i linked is better and cheaper
well, similar and cheaper. Still slightly better
Aight I'll take a look
also, you got an hdd not ssd?
if so, youll want that ssd that i linked to put windows on
also one last thing, how much did you pay for the 3050?
$346.44, best price on Newegg
or for less https://pcpartpicker.com/product/M9ytt6/msi-radeon-rx-6600-8-gb-mech-2x-video-card-rx-6600-mech-2x-8g
6600 beats 3050 by a decent bit
exactly that one
Oh shit, 6600 or 6600xt more worth it than the 3060-3050
id return it and buy one of those two
Nah I'm satisfied with it
being satisfied doesnt change that you overpaid
and can get 25% more perf for $20
That was with tax and stuff tho
Yeah
personally i still wouldve gone with the 6600, since more perf for same price including tax
but if you prefer nvidia/don't want to go through the hassle of returning, its fine
I absolutly hate Radeon tho
why
if youre overclocking i can get that
coming from someone who sold a 6800xt and went back to 3060 ti for ocing reasons
Because I have a few friends who have Radeon cards, and they have compatibility issues galore
Yeah I also am not a fan of the AMD software
I got a 3090 because I didnt want a radeon card, so I got a 3090... even though the 6900xt is way more fps per dollar.
6900xt has been consistently $1300, even through most of the shortage
F
Exaclty, no one was buying any radeon cards, the 6900xt was always in stock...
if i had kept the 6800xt, i wouldve been running it at 1080p with a 3600 on a 650w psu lol
amd ocing is just very annoying
Sure, I have a 850w psu for my 3090, any reccomendations for 1300w+ psu?
and decided id rather wait to upgrade gpu with 40 series or 50 series
why?
if youre planning to upgrade gpu, id wait until you do so
no reason to change psu before you know what youll need
especially considering next gen psus are likely to use the new 12 pin connector
I kinda cant, because my 850w is dying, its already halfway into hell
how so?
anyways, id get the cheapest 1200/1300w psu on A tier on this list https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/
Its about 4 years old, and it started to power on, trip overcurrent protection because gpu pull, and then it power on.
ahh
figured it was new with your 3090
rmx 1000w is $150
Yeah, more like 3, 3 months. I have the RMx850w. The 1000w might even allow me to reuse my custom cables.
I was looking at the Seasonic prime 1300w gold or platinum
ive no clue about that psu
Yeah, the strix 3090 can pull like 350w constant while playing fh5, and the psu gets hot as f even when idling.
And if I raise the power limit, it can pull 450...
Yeah, my psu sadly disagrees
Should I buy this 5 pack of artic f12 fans for just 15 bucks?
Do you have any liquid cooling?
The F12 don't have enough static pressure for liquid cooling
I need better intake fans
Alr I will see if I can find any for a good price
is this were I would ask for build help
Yes
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nk7Dqm How's this?
System Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower
$30 for the 5 pack right now
100% worth it
You don't need a 360mm AIO for that, unless you're planning to upgrade later to a hotter chip
alr
Ok just got me a 5 pack
Or 6900XT for $1030
that too
Isn't Nvidia better for streaming 🤔
Technically yes, if you use nvenc. AMD has a hardware encoder too though.
I think Nvidia has better software than amd
There is quite a lot I'd change to this
Give me a few min
alr
Are you dead set on liquid cooling or would a good RGB air cooler work?
i’m not really deadset on either as long as it cools my CPU lol
Yeah the 5600 is not hot at all, a basic air cooler works fine'
alr
My suggestion https://pcpartpicker.com/list/63MGLs
System Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower
Saves money and performs better
id pass on the amp tbh
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
I'd also get an m27q over that monitor
240hz useless unless you're playing pro
So ig if you're pro it's fine
amp + ampere is not a combination id like to do, despite the names being similar lol
revo df 850 should be cheaper
Revo DF is same price but has ripple problems sometimes
better than a stock focus, which is what the amp is
amd's hw encoder sucks tho
hell, id take a cxf over a amp even
nvenc is still a lot better
at least the cxf is a good HEC unit
12600k 3080 12gb build for 1.85k instead of the 5600 3080 ti build :p
A-GF is a couple bucks more
I think we can all agree that none of the budget options are perfect at least lol
if you add in the ATX version of that board from amazon, its $5 cheaper
pcpp is just weird about it
But effort
lol true, but id probs take revo df over all
Also I forgot about that
There's better options for 1440p at $500
True
M27q still great at $300 though
When I checked yesterday all the ~$300 options for M27Q were sold out
Must have come back in stock since yesterday then
hmmm alr
Could get a liquid freezer ii 280mm if you want better cooling, but not needed with a b660 since you won't be ocing it
I'd do this monitor as well, it's several classes higher than the one you picked out https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8snypg/lg-32gp850-b-320-2560x1440-165-hz-monitor-32gp850-b
Out of curiosity, how much better is it than the m27q aside from the screen size?
The extra screen size is nice though
stopppppppppppppppppppppp
That didn't exactly come out right
The LG 32GP850-B is slightly better than the Gigabyte M27Q. The LG has a slightly faster refresh rate, which translates to a slightly better response time as well. The LG also has better reflection handling, and the stand can rotate to a portrait orientation. The LG has a larger screen, but the same resolution as the Gigabyte, so it has slightly...
can someone recommend me a better pc case
RGB instead of BGR
Worth it just for that 😉
i currently use a cougar mx330 air
With how many fans
windows cleartype comin in clutch 💪
no the 330g not the mesh one tho
Could add more fans and your case will be fine
Guess which is which
Mx330-g is a decent case
i have fans in all of the spots
