Rate my realistic dream build out of 10 https://docs.google.com/document/d/14cYUKuGG9nyLXVDX4G_WLBjQHmKXsFkdenVMRn0nQgE/edit#
jokes aside, i would not buy literally any of that besides the gpu
why
I did a lot of research I think that all looks really good and performance is pretty good
disagree
what would you change
ok
whats your budget for the whole build
around 1000 dollars for new parts
all the parts that say 0 I have already
also in my opinion no rgb > rgb
how much did you buy the 2700x for and can you return it
tbf viper mini is fine and k669 is fune
k669 is literally the best for its budget rn
find one thats better then that and ill venmo you a dollar
also the xvx m61 looks so good I dont care if its not hotswapable I think it looks amazing and I like yellow switches anyways
how do you ignore compatibility thing
because it doesnt let me choose a b550
If you like rgb, womier k61/k67, you can get a similar keycap set from hk or smth
most b550 boards won't support 2700x..?
There's a checkbox on the top left
but still
i thought with a bios update they did?
b450 it is
B550 didn't start with zen+ support
ah sucks
dats why 3200g/3400g and such just wouldn't work on most b550 boards
There's no official support, but some people have gotten it to work on some b550 boards
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D3Q2YZ7/ref=twister_B091Y2GLJM?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 id do this for the psu
pcp doesnt show the 700w version
You can add custom part
yeye
How much should someone pay for a 2700x?
just realized it allows url
System Builder - AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Lemme rephrase that
less than $100
I mean, from the perspective of actually buying one, I wouldn't spend more than like 75$
What would be a compelling price
considering 12100 smacks it around
is 700watts enough? I feel like a 3060ti would need a lot more
Ic ic
For selling, maybe like 120 or similar
my 3060 ti ran on a 500w psu for a long time
im now running it on a 650
oh damn
3060ti can run on 450w
ok
even a 3080 ti is fine on a decent 700w
Just depends on rest of system and such
^^
Depending on what else you have
Yeah
I was aboutta say lmaooo an i9 12900k w a 3060ti
On 450w 😭😭
3060ti only draws like 200w avg in general
still would be fine on 650w
i think in benches with pl unlocked mine maxed out at 215w, so yeah pretty much
given it is a 1 pin model
System Builder - AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
id do that list
I'll start to list why each thing should be changed
if you find the case ugly, p360a and mx330-g are fine alternatives
ill check this out gimmie a minute tho
tho mx330-g will need fans
which p12s would be good to use
LPX not the greatest, price doesn't make it that compelling anyways, 2x8 enough for most uses, and even if you want 2x16, there should be cheaper options.
pcpartpicker is a lot better to use than google docs
they provide links to it instead of you having to type everything and hyper link everything
That’s why I said 450w instead of a higher voltage 😛
and a total price and individual price
212 evo sucks nowadays, h510 flow is a very meh case for the price, could either get better airflow for the price or a better price for the same performance
^^
ima just agree with everything mr says before he says it, because were pretty much going to say the same thing
2700x won't work on b550
oh alos if you wanted 32gb https://pcpartpicker.com/product/B8QcCJ/silicon-power-gaming-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3200-cl16-memory-sp032gxlzu320bdaj7
this list look really good the only two things are the motherboard and the ram
you cant use a b550
ds3h isn't good but meh, it's b450
and the mobo is more than enough for a 2700x
could you suggest a better b450 then?
I was gonna upgrade my cpu later so idk
headset replacement wise, if budget could be increased, cloud ii for a generic decent option, if not, if you don't care about looks, smth like ksc75x that has inline mic, if you want normal generic headset, gmr air
I mean, ig pro vdh max for right away zen 2 support and I believe better vrms
There's also always just tomahawk max
generic meh board but better than generic bad board
Idk if it helps but there’s a lot of b450 boards in Amazon warehouse
oh wait, the intel version of the ds3h is the decent one isnt it
and yea, b450 is older platform, can prob get better prices for used/refurb boards
that would be you selling the 2700x and getting a 12100f/12400 and b660
And yes, best case scenerio is selling 2700x for a good price and going 12th gen rn
how much can i sell the 2700x for
Looks like $120-160 on ebay
ok
Which is more than the 12100f costs 🙃
@little osprey Keeb wise, you can get something decent w hotswap like this
https://www.amazon.com/Percent-Keyboard-Mechanical-Gateron-Swappable/dp/B08PF3HD2V/
And if you really want those keycaps, you can buy them separately
https://www.amazon.com/SDYZ-Keycaps-Keycaps-Suitable-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B08SLQJTKC/
Womier K61 60% Percent Keyboard, Hot Swappable Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Gateron Switch Dual RGB Backlit Compact 61 Keys for PC PS4 Xbox (White,Yellow Switch)
keychron can also be fun
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k12-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=39299048144985
i love my keychron k4
I like my k8
!ask
I'm getting grief posting my question, in general, I tried using pc part picker and I can't get the sight to recognize some of the parts in my pc so went to Newegg chat and Newegg sent me here to ask my question is I'm having to replace my mother board and I'm wondering is this board will work in place of the current board
Board in question
MSI MPG X570S Carbon MAX WiFi Gaming Motherboard (ATX, AMD, Socket AM4. DDR4, PCIe 4, CFX, M.2 Slots, Wi-Fi 6E)
Current board
MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI Motherboard (AMD AM4, DDR4, PCIe 4.0, SATA 6Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, AX Wi-Fi 6, HDMI, ATX)
The pc.
MSI MPG X570 Gaming PRO Carbon WiFi Motherboard (AMD AM4, DDR4, PCIe 4.0, SATA 6Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, AX Wi-Fi 6, HDMI, ATX)
XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB 3D NAND NVMe Gen3x4 PCIe M.2 2280 Solid State Drive R/W 3500/3000MB/s SSD (ASX8200PNP-512GT-C)
CORSAIR RM Series, RM850, 850 Watt, 80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply, Microsoft Modern Standby
Windows 10 Home 64 bit / 32 bit | USB Flash Drive | English New
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler
MSI GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 8GB GDRR6 256-bit HDMI/DP/USB Ray Tracing Turing Architecture Graphics Card (RTX 2080 VENTUS 8G OC)
Hitachi HUA723030ALA640 3TB Hitachi UltraStar 7K3000 HUA723030ALA640 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 128GB (4x32GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4-24000) C16 Desktop Memory – Black (CMW128GX4M4D3000C16)
so you alright have all of this?
also why do you have to replace your motherboard?
is it broken?
yes the pc is built but the motherboard is bad
how long have you had those parts?
because i would return most of them
assuming you bought them recently
ah alright
id reccomend a b550, assuming you dont need all the nvme slots that x570s come with
im sorry its hard to read all the specs the way you sent them
b550 will that run the Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core, and the 4 memory sticks already in the pc
what are nvme slots
sorry I'm not a builder a friend put this together for me and I no longer have his knowledge to turn to
ima be honest
who makes the b55o?
your friend didnt seem to know what they were talking about
how much do you want to spend?
as little as I can but I still want performence
mobo is near irrelevant to performance
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PDsnTW/msi-b550m-pro-vdh-wifi-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b550m-pro-vdh-wifi this is an alright mobo, if you want to save money
from what i can tell
this whon't run my 2, 32 inch monitors
the ports on the mobo dont matter
the ports on the gpu are where you run your monitors throuigh
Thanks
Hey I finished building my pc but idk how to connect it to a monitor
Is it with only a hdmi cable or do I need something else?
hdmi is fine
connect it from the graphics card, not the motherboard. (if you have a graphics card)
there where the red circle is
how did you build a whole PC and fail to understand how to plug it to a monitor?
@timid dragon u there
lol he dead
probably trying to figure out how to connect his HP Pavilion to some old 900p monitor that uses VGA
VGA is so old school. Only had it on my CRT(s) and an LCD that was 1280x1024.
Yeah sorry I just saw this I really appreciate you guys a lot
Sorry it’s my first time building one
success? btw can use hdmi or displayport, displayport is just usually better (especially to allow higher resolution and/or refresh rates)
Lmao. left hanging again
Hey guys, I'm in the middle of my first build and I ran into a snag
I went to install my mobo into the case but.... The mobo has a preinstalled io and it doesnt wanna fit into my case
Mobo is an x570 unify and case is a corsair obsidian 500D
That's an easy fit, what you wanna do is grab the mobo by the heatsink or something and aim the heatsink towards the io shield area at a slight angle
I managed to get it, but thank you! My not so ingenious self tried to get the entire io shield through but it just needed to peek out lol
Ok so I got myself another problem. my psu is an RM850x and the cpu cables included dont seem to fit my mobo
Are you using the proper eps cable for the CPU area of the board and do you have them rotated properly
hi everyone, i hope y'all are doing good! very quick question
w my aio being mounted to the front of my case, i wasn't able to put my dust filter on to help with, well dust. i've been looking at dust filters for my fans online but majority of them block the same amount of dust as they do air intake. so curious to know, do i NEED a front dust filter / fan filter(s) or am i gonna be okay if i just dust out the front rad/fans every couple months?
I would suggest dusting every few weeks if dust build up is quick near your setup but if dust isn't issue I'd suggest every month or two
dust filters are completely optional and actually have a slight airflow penalty so if you don't use it and dust more often you'll actually get slightly better temps
counter point, my dust filters have all but ensured I don't have to open my pc and clean it every 6 months.
Hmmmm.... es
I run an open case with an air purifier running 24/7 and I still dust every week
How many furry friends?
1
it's super easy though
I bought a mini leaf blower
my PC is already open
just plug it in and aim it inside
doesn't run out like compressed air cans
mine is basically the same thing but half the price
I tried actually blowing leaves with it yesterday
unsurprisingly it worked very well
I get it, i use mine for porch blowing
it dropped my laptop's temps by almost 10c compared to a compressed air can
I get scared when my laptops 3060 starts chucking out 95 deg C temps
but uh... that's just poor heatsink design
I have G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series 32GB 3200 MGHZ.. I have a 12600k and z690 mobo i have xmp to 3200 could i OC to 3600 mghz and would it even make a difference
I'm mining on my laptop 3070 in the high 50s to mid 60s with 60% fan speed (which is just below 40 dba)
yes and yes
I saw a 40% increase in raw memory performance going from 3600c16 xmp timings to 3800c14 manual subtimings
that doesn't exactly translate to 40% in games
but it's a huge boost if you're CPU bound
however, don't you have a 5600xt?
honestly sounds like a bad mount or bad paste
my laptop CPU definitely had a bad factory paste job
but liquid metal fixed it right up
the gpu paste was quite good but I used liquid metal anyways
I do, what would this mean
it means you're probably too GPU bottlenecked for ram oc to make a difference in anything
unless you're playing warzone at 720p lowest settings or something
how exactly do I know my gpu is bottlenecking
you'll probably not see a gain from ram oc unless you play at very low settings
ahh alright thanks i was just wondering if it would help
gpu oc would only be the thing you'll see an increase tbh
np, maybe look into it again when you GPU upgrade or decide to play low settings to chase frames lol
warzone does love ram oc
not sure about fortnite
but 120 fps definitely sounds GPU bound
I did a customer build and he specifically wanted me to test fortnite
on a stock ryzen 5 3600 and gtx 1660 it was getting 300 fps
if a ryzen 5 3600 is capable of outputting 300 fps then 12600K can certainly do more than 120
Should I return my 6700 xt for a 6800 xt for 1440p 170 fps
would it help if i did a gpu OC
of course
don't get caught up on 170 fps as a magical number
Even 144 tho
even 3090ti/6900xt can't do 170 fps in every game
my 3090 doesn't get anywhere near that in valhalla
Like not only in shooters.I would like 100 fps in single player games
Metro etc
just think about if your games aren't running well enough and if you think the extra money is worth it to make your games run like 20% better
not that you would really know but should i just press the OC button in AMD App
do a blind test between 100 fps and 120 fps, can you tell the difference?
I can't tell between 100 and 240
that's good, but having the money doesn't mandate spending it
just think about how badly you want a 20% performance boost
it's your decision, since it's entirely subjective
I just don’t want something Iwil be disappointed with
But the you made me feel better about the purchase
So thank you
6700xt will do a great job at 1440p
so will 6800xt
either way no reason to be disappointed
I’m glad to hear that man thank you so much 😊
np
my biggest advice
games are more fun when you turn off the fps counter
just enjoy the game and stop looking at a number on the corner of the screen
upgrade when the game stops being enjoyable rather than targeting a new number
Tbh, fps counter shouldn't be on unless you feel something is wrong or you're testing something
yup
But hey, I sometimes feel a difference between 90fps and 140fps
When my uv for mining is applied while playing some games
I check fps, realize what happened, change it back.
i think that has more to do with the 1% lows
i know what you're talking about
i've had mining accidentally running while running it takes two and gotten 90 fps but it was stuttery
smooth 90 is much different
Yea, probably
Another phenomenon is when my monitor does something weird and it does 120hz (windows settings & nvcp) instead of 144hz and I feel it, but it's likely something else is also wrong at the same time though
it happens to me when i play forza and it’s super annoying
Because the monitor just stays at 120hz
It's a weird occurrence and windows just doesn't give me the 144hz option again
not like it matters too much tho
So I have to go nvcp and custom resolution and 144hz again
But other times it just lets me do 144hz right away
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
what gpu do you have again
I have a Rx5600xt ITX Powercolor how do ik if its a red dragon or devil
it's just called "rx 5600 xt itx"
red devil is like the higher end variant
alright thanks
with at least two fans
if i needed to flash bios to a newer version am i able to?
i had seen that i can flash it to a newer one and get 16 gbps and im not sure of it
don't vbios flash unless you know exactly what you're doing
you can turn your card into a fancy paperweight
well thats what i wanted to know if there was something newer than what i have installed.
also, if your card is capable of doing 16 gbps with a vbios flash, then it's also capable of doing 16 gbps with overclocking
vbios flash doesn't change the actual hardware
just overclock it
much safer for the same result
alright thanks
i will say that it's incredibly unlikely to be getting 16 gbps on a 5600xt
i have a golden sample 5700xt (third strongest air cooled 3dmark score in the world) that can't do 16 gbps
running at 15.056 gbps with tightened vram timings right now
could maybe go a little higher if i loosened the vram timings, but probably not up to 16 gbps
should I OC gpu or vram
why not both lol
i didnt really know the difference
it's not an either or, you can do both
go to #overclocking and look at pinned guides
It’s pretty simple, just follow a simple guide and there shouldn’t be any worries of “breaking” something. just do what the guide tells you to do
Auto oc is bad
It’s so easy to do manual oc
tbf idk how to manually oc
Trust me. i could do it
"go to #overclocking and look at pinned guides"
gpu oc is the easiest form of oc
my vram is at 1748 and my clock speed and voltage are at 7 and 775 mV

let me check it out
First step is to get msi afterburner, and when you’re installing afterburner, make sure to check the box to install Rtss or rivatuner statistics server (RTSS basically allows you to have the in-game overlay for temps, frequencies, etc)
i already have afterburner so ill do that
W
ehh
it’s not required but if you would like it
i prefer radeon software over afterburner for radeon cards
Oh it’s radeon
afterburner works but radeon software is better
i cant find a guide for my card i looked in the pinned messages but im a little confused
it doesn't have to be for your exact card lol
r/overclocking: All things overclocking go here. Learn to overclock, ask experienced users your questions, boast your rock-stable, sky-high OC and …
the basic oc process is the same for every modern gpu
Yes^
radeon gpus can get more complicated if you choose to dive into bios modding
but the basic process is the same
increase vram until it crashes
increase core until it crashes
done
do i have to increase my power limit
I don’t know what that does tbh i just left it
i think it allows your card to use more power because that’s what the name sounds like
my clock speed is at 1748
more performance at the cost of higher heat/noise
your choice
my 5700xt runs at 2138mhz core 1892mhz mem
bios modded with a 440w power limit
so just increase vram slowly until it crashes? lmao
yes.. that's literally the process
welcome to overclocking
grab 3dmark demo to test each increase
what happens if it crashes and what do i do to fix it
if it crashes
well one of two things happens
one, your radeon driver detects a timeout and recovers
you can proceed as normal
reboot if it doesn’t show anything again, then lower whatever number you had
If your temps are that low, don't worry about them
Assuming you're currently doing a stress test
w
You can see a performance regression before crashing when overclocking vram.
Use time spy gt2 to test.
Mega pog
Is that a good price?
Ye
nope
the gpu will be the bottleneck still
note that 12600k has near 12900k perf in many games
so there shouldn't be cpu problems
Hi so I set up my pc and everything but the wifi option isn’t popping up what can I do?
It could be that you purchased a non-wifi motherboard. I had that exact problem.
Make 100% sure you got a motherboard with wifi. If you don’t, I can suggest a pcie wifi card.
or it could just be that wifi drivers for that board hasn't been installed
yep, it needs wifi driver
go into support page for your board, and downloads section
you should be able to find wifi drivers
it usually says wireless or something along that line
But how do I download it without wifi
uhm, well
you'd need another machine for that
laptop or anything
or if possible
hook it up to ethernet
could also download the drivers on your phone or use usb tethering hotspot from your phone
my phone is able to provide a wired internet connection to my pc using usb cable, not sure if iphone allows this
Okay okay thank you guys so much it’s been such a headache lol
don't forget to flex in #build-pics when it's all set up

@high yew "still debating on getting a 280 aio for top instead of 360 front" as an aesthetic choice?
top mount vs. front mount is seriously overblown
your system is fine as is
if it's as an aesthetic choice sure, but there's no functional justification for such a switch
switching from front intake to top exhaust will net you slightly lower gpu temps and slightly higher cpu temps
and going from 360 to 280 will also net you slightly higher cpu temps
but it's not a huge deal either way
280 top to also increase life expectancy of the aio to make the air go into the top of the rad and flatten out, but the way i have it right now w my 360 is good too so whatever, was debating because w the case i got i don’t have any dust filters for the front 360 and that’s where majority of dust comes from. my top two fans i have as intakes right now but those may be switched to exhausts i haven’t decided
but like i had asked earlier, you said if i dust it out every now and then it’s fine
no no, i watched jayz explain it, i didn’t get the gn video at all lmfaoo
oh yikes
said some are just better but whatever
please don't watch jayz for anything remotely informational
why’s that LMAO
you'd be better off asking an AI chatbot
just doesn’t provide good info or?
he's often very aggressively wrong
it’s misleading?
lol
hit and miss
linus is more of a techertainment channel than an info channel
they've also been terribly wrong about some things
Jayztwobraincells
one of our members here was a victim of their misinformation
damaged his cpu because he trusted LTT
Usmus?
yeah
Mhmm
LTT endorsed 1usmus's malware saying it was a free performance boost for ryzen
Did he have a hyper 212?
and never went back on it
oh interesting. who’s good to watch then, information wise?
Gamers Nexus is decent
if you want good sources of information on youtube, you're looking at gamer's nexus, hardware unboxed, and (mostly for SFF info) optimum tech
buildzoid for vrm things
buildzoid is incredibly niche and has about zero overlap with the audiences for linus tech tips and jayztwocents lol
motherboard roundups actually relevent
everything else incredibly niche
Der8auer is good too, but he doesn't have much info that pertains to the average consumer
He takes a look at all the new boards when they get announced

derbauser is pretty much just overclocking content
hwunboxed tends to be the first to actually test the vrms though
i can't lie i've never had the patience to make it through a buildzoid video
big one that i was gonna change aio’s was mostly bc i got no dust filters in the front end. is cleaning my rad behind my fans easy as just grabbing a non static vacuum and just vacuuming the dust off? tried looking at some videos yesterday all of them were the entire pc rather then just the aio
The Terk also makes good videos
yes i clean my pc with a leaf blower
Most buildzoid vids are too long and niche
good for sleeping
i've gotten it to register key presses on my keyboard
yeah, i've fallen asleep to buildzoid twice
not even joking
oh boy. so just open panels and blow? lol
yup
i don't think that's filtered here
He does ramble and go on tangents a lot but it's all good info, even if scattered
yeah
i’m not gonna test bc i’ll get kicked ahaaa
HWUB definitely has much better presentation
hwunboxed is more condensed
my keyboard has 63.5g actuation force switches and my leaf blower can press them down from a distance of 1 ft lol
they go in with a script, bz just rambles
god forbid i can find any info online, however i got two 120’s on the top of my case as intakes, are those supposed to stay as said intakes or should i switch em to exhausts?
switch to exhausts definitely
sounds good, i’ll do that before i power it on today
you're just blowing the heat from your gpu back down
instead of facilitating its exit from the case
true true, thanks man
it's great info, but i can't really recommend people to go watch it
at least personally, i'm not recommending a video that i can't make it through myself
i do be from the zoomer generation
😔
I can stand it, so I'll help recommending it
Have you seen the channel "PC builder"?
sometimes i can't get through a GN video lol
liberal use of skipping
just skip to each graph
no?
GN does take getting used to
He's this one YouTuber
and skipping around tends to give you the info you need
o
But then makes meh reccomendations elsewhere
rip
Sounds like every other channel to me
Yeah need to be in a certain mood to watch GN
GN does that every year
Think they mean similar to psu tier list on cultists
I might make one if I'm bored and remember
What other channels use the tier list and reccomend 224xt tho?
Plus ak620, lf2, ek aio
I feel like he's definitely way above average
Fuma 2 even
I mean the channels will have a few good recommendations and the rest of the parts are meh
True
But I know of so many channels who see gold psu and instantly reccomend
Even tho it's crap
my pc is turning on but my monitor isnt i dont know why
Is this a new computer or one that's been running?
where's your monitor cable plugged into
into the graphics card?
Hey guys
I need a little bit of help
So I keep trying to exit the BIOs and it’s not letting me
Any clues how to fix it
F10 should be save and exit
If it's stuck just turn it off after saving. Power button should be instant off.
Alright
what do you mean by it's not letting you? is it just going back to bios? or does exit not work
So after I click exit it just sends me right back into the BIOS
Ah so it's in a loop
i believe that's usually caused by no storage device detected
And even after turning the power supply off and on it’s still the same thing
Alright
that happens to me when i do a boot test with no storage attached intentionally
is it a new build?
if it's an existing build, perhaps you knocked a sata cable loose while doing something inside the pc
Yes
ah
It’s a new build
that's odd
I just got it out
I’m about to get it ready to go
I realized that
That may be the problem
normally if a storage device is detected with no OS installed it'll boot to a black screen that says insert boot device and reboot
instead of back to bios
well, just try installing OS on it and see how it goes
If the drive isn't initialized maybe it behaves different
Or just different brand behavior
I mean it’s a 980 ssd
Regular or Pro?
Regular
Yeah so it shouldn't care what slot it's in
try switching boot modes if youre on uefi to csm 👀
just try installing OS
How?
🤢

with your install usb
select boot override to the usb if you must
I plugged it in but it’s not doing anything
Well so far nothing has worked that you have said to do
wifi or no
What version of bios is it on currently
I'm looking for more like 7D06v12
Should be on the main info screen
The last 2 digits are the only ones that change
Ok what about bios date
4/12/2021
pretty outdated
Also can i ask a question rq
Sure
How am I supposed to download that on my pc when I’m on my phone
Do you have a usb adapter for your phone
ok so i got my 12600k for 231 yesterday and i have been looking at videos and some peopl esay that you shouldnt buy 12th gen so late in the year
It's fine really, we don't even have any info on 13th gen yet. If you always waited for the next best thing you'd always be waiting.
yeah thats what i was thinking
but just wondering becasue it backiaclly only have 6 cores for gaming
and e cores dont really do anyhting for games
12 p core threads is more than enough, especially since the e cores will handle background tasks
Most modern games will use 4, maybe 6 threads
That's memory latency
well most of the time i drop fps
Overclocking the memory helps a lot with stuttering and 1% lows
Well
I’m trying a Device SelfTest on the SSD
So I’ll see if that’s the problem or not
So far it’s at 2%
Now 3%
do you have windows installed?
No
If you don't have an adapter for your phone or another system you can use a friend's computer or library computer
Also are you supposed to reinstall windows after getting a new mobo and cpu?

Highly recommended to do so yes. You can transfer your Windows 10/11 license if you're signed in to your microsoft account.
Then you don't need to worry about that, keep doing what you're doing
Windows only wants you to think it needs a license
You'll want Windows 11 because e-cores, I'll grab a link to official usb creation program
Thanks
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
"Create Windows 11 Installation Media"
The program should guide you through making a USB
Do you have everything on one drive?
Ok, copy anything you need off your SSD to the HDD to backup the data
like what
Then in the windows installer you'll format the SSD and install to that
Documents, photos, downloads, program data, stuff like that
Games you can always re-download
i dont really need anyhting its just games and like tools
Then you can skip that
You'll want to format the windows partition so it wipes clean
Then the installer can handle it
Otherwise it'll want to do an "upgrade install" and that kinda sucks
Yeah you'll select custom install, pick the windows partition, format, then hit next and it should just work
ok
If for some reason that fails you just delete all the partitions on the SSD and select the empty space. There's a bug related to that, happens sometimes.
6core/12threads or not, I was gonna say 12600(K) is a pretty moderate improvement from a 9600 even w/ that RX 570 dictating certain gfx related settings.
Oh absolutely, cpu will be at least 40% better when cpu bound
The K is yes
The non-k doesn't have e-cores
Good deal
@strong raft I finally got my pc but sadly it no work because of probably the SSD or something else that I haven’t figured out yet
So right now I’m just doing SelfTest for the SSD
And then I’ll see if the SSD is good
So it will be done in like a hour
What do yall think the next gen gpus will cost?
More than 30 series counterparts
4070 supposedly beats 3090
well duh
Depends on what it is
i got 650
Probably, but depends on what you get
prob 4060
And I can't say for sure, since nothing is completely set in stone
or 4060 ti
4060 I imagine will use 250w or so, so you should be fine
If 4060ti even exists lol
4090 is 600 wats
true
Indeed
thats a bomb
Max overclocked power limit maybe, probably closer to 500 stock
Which is still insane
doubt. 🤣 Nvidia giving away 3080 performance for $500ish so soon? We wish
That's what Nvidia is claiming
But the price will be higher than that
Plus, people forget the difference between NVidia/AIB and what that's like regarding pricing usually.
My next upgrade will probably be 14th gen, depending on release date
That or 7000 series
Next flagship will be geforce 512
lol
but with my guesstimation
"4090" is probably gonna use AD102
100 is only limited to their datacenter stuff
Theyre using gddr7, right? Or samsungs super fast g6
uh no
gddr7 isn't even a thing
and ada is scheduled to launch somewhere in september this year
so i'd guess they're gonna use the faster g6
no way they're gonna use hbm
if it is, it wouldn't come out this early imo
Ah
ddr5 just came out to consumers not too long ago
7000 is the next gen, 6000 is laptops
gddr5 is based on ddr3, 6 on 4 and so on
I know
logically speaking, gddr7 will have to take a while to come out
I've been fanboying over 6000 series for the last 6 months
Oh I thought you were skipping a gen
We'll see. Personally I'd skip the first gen on any platform.
At least most of the critical problems with 12th gen are fixed by now
We might see a refresh of the 4000s with gddr7 but it isn't ready for consumers yet. I don't even think the jedec spec is out.
possibly
On a related note DDR6 is supposed to be 12800 MT
jesus that's a lot of bandwidth
is that actual new tech or just their competitor to gddr6x
The new GDDR standard that is supposed to arrive is GDDR6+, which bumps the speed from 18,000 MT/s to 24,000 MT/s. Node of choice for GDDR6+ will be 1z nm, and the Korean giant wants to start manufacturing these modules this month.
This was back in November
Ooh
After this, the company's roadmaps show that the GDDR7 standard will replace GDDR6+ and offer rates of 32,000 MT/s. With GDDR7, there will also be a new feature present called "real-time error protection feature," which is still unknown. Presumably, it is some form of ECC for GDDR or something similar.
okay 24000 is a bit faster than g6x yeah
the g6+
g6x original spec is 19000
g6 is already catching up to g6x
my gf finally wants a pc but she dosent have the monney soo she wants to buy a pre build pc
g6x becoming trash lol
wonder why they don't just call g6+ g7 and bump g7 to g8
jfc
The base speed for DDR6 modules will allegedly arrive at 12,800 MT/s, while overclocking modules will join the party at up to 17,000 MT/s. Mobile-oriented LPDDR6 version is also supposed to come with up to 17,000 MT/s speeds.
well
bigger number better for marketing no?
cause g6+ isn't based on ddr5
custom builds are cheaper most of the time
soo she wanna pay on payments any good pre build pc
jedec won't let that happen
gddr4 would like a word with you
What budget?
gddr4 and gddr5 were both based on ddr3
that's actually called ddr4
2.5k
but there is precedent for 2 gddr versions being based on the same ddr version
yea ik custom pc are better and cheaper is just the grapic cards rn they are expensive
it's not, but even if it wasn't that wouldn't change my point
graphics card prices are practically back to normal and prebuilts have also increased prices
ah
you've got some outdated info
well i was wrong
GPUs are getting a lot cheaper and easier to find actually. I found a 3070 ti for $700 just last night.
gddr4 was indeed based on ddr3
but yes, wanting to pay in installments is a valid reason to buy a prebuilt i suppose
thats not a bad deal tbh but she dosent have monney and she wanna do payments
even if it was based on ddr2, the precedent would still stand
maybe they regret the number deviation or something lol
right now my pc has a gpu with g6x and a gpu with g3
😳
blessed SLI setup
ddr2 moment
dang
i don't understand why lots of people and even oems mixes gddr3 with ddr3
like that's still two different things
gddr3 is like from ddr2 age
no this card has legit gddr3 lol
So like
She can spend that much on a pc but doesn't have the money to build her own?
Huh
if you have to pay in installments you probably should not be spending 2.5k on a pc
i know sips
shes doing payments
im just saying how something like
Well guys couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it it wouldn’t even let me use the ssd as a boot up but oh well
gt 730 ddr3 gets called gddr3
I’ll figure it out tomorrow
Just to make sure
You have both the sata and pcie power cable plugged in?
2.5k is way into the diminishing returns range, you shouldn't be spending 2.5k on a pc unless you have tons of spare money
hey guys whats a 5700xt equivalent too
But are you stronger than it
a gt 1030 is 5 times more powerful than this card
imma guess it's..
2070 super
2070 super or slightly higher than a 3060
r7 240
r5 240 oem
No I didn’t
ohok
jeez
As in
Because I don’t have a hard drive or a graphics card
You didn't have both of those cables plugged in
that thing is probably a rebrand of rebrand
Is it a sata ssd or nvme ssd?
it's essentially a display adapter
It's trying its best
you know a graphics card is bad when it can't even run league of legends
kek
It’s a sad
Sata?
Solid state drive
it's at 30% usage running a not very complex animated wallpaper at 600x1024 15 fps
and using 0.8/1.0gb of its vram
Or is it a 2.5in rectangle
Pretty sure it’s nvme
oh yes
Holy fu
gpu flying
Helicopter
Helos got nothing on that rpm
now slap remote control on it
hey fal
a let it rip
I9 11900k and a MSI Z-590 gaming carbon
No
Just from reading the cpu
2200 FOR A 6600XT 😭
I mean maybe
Oh hell nah
I’ll see
cyberpoopy
this thing is worth about half the asking price
That pc should cost 1.1k max
