On the dark hero so I have to flash the bios
Or is it already flashes
Flashes
For the 5000 series
No
Ok
That's one of the selling point of dark hero
And I flash them after installing the part right
espolan send ur pcpp real quick
No need to flash it if it's already ready
dark hero moment
Meh
Lol
put 5900x on b450 ds3h
No
Nah man
pg4
@little osprey a320 or nothing
are there even zen 3 bioses going out to a520?
Hm, I think it does
i wouldn't call myself an expert
Guys what’s the cheapest gaming pc you can build with a solid performance
Its got agesa 1.2.0.2 but
Cheapest would be like 11400 build xD
honestly within this situation, an igpu 11500 wouldn't be such a horrible choice
eh always pondered about the 11400 vs 11500. for igpu i heard its uhd 730 vs 750 and almost a 20% performance uplift? correct me if im wrong
I mean
but if you have a gpu already an 11400 would be the obvious choice
Look at passmark where 730 out-scores the uhd 750 xD
A cheap build
10100 then for that budget
10100 cheapest h410/b460/b560
psu would be easy
I wouldn’t need an gpu
cx 450 is on a sale correct
as for the ram just go with whatevers the cheapest, at least like what 3000mhz on b560
if on h410/b460 just go with cheapest 2666
and as for storage an ssd is practically essential, id say an mp33 512gb or whatevers availible
Wait is 3600 speed supported on 5000 series
yes
Even faster
What’s that
so when a ram kit is advertised it shows its supported speeds. so lets say a kit for 3200C16. but when you buy it product manufacturers want it to AT LEAST boot so they run in a slower speed. one that ensures stability, then you go into bios enable xmp (extreme memoru profile) which in turn sets it to its advertised speed. 3200C16 in this case
i guess it can be seen as overclocking?
XMP is overclocking technically, yes
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pT48cT
just a list for some fun
At the price of the 10400 you'd wanna get that instead when it's like 20 more or something
.
Sad
ur right i totally disregarded that
Lol 10400 is deal
Anyone know if the nzxt smart device has a USB header on it?
the what
Their fan controller
Or do I just need to buy the corsair controller?
I only gave one usb port on my mobo so I had to take the fan controller from old case
Our old coverage of the NZXT H700i included a lengthy section on what we deemed a bug-filled fusion of hardware and software that would be a waste of money even if it worked perfectly, with that device finding its way into a trashcan during the review. That was the “Smart Device” version 1, which was reclaimed from the trashcan for exactly this ...
hm
Sorry the corsair fan controller?
I mean, if it works as a fan controller, it's still fine
it just does nothing that's "smart"
Oh tru
ugh, my time in windows i wrong, anyone know why?
just manually set it again
Like just a dif time zone?
so the issue is, in date and time, it says im in Pacific time
but in alarms and clock
thats what i believe it is
but the doesn't really solve it since wont it just reset after shutting down?
Nah it'll stay
alr but i prob would prefer it to be set automatically yk
since it thinks im in the west coast
Then change location to ur time zone
in date and time, where you are supposed to change it
its right
but in alarm and clock, its wrong but you cant change the time zone in alarm and closk
Hmmm
yea its weird
you think it couild have to do with hardware?
or is it a software issue
ok i just manually set my time
and its right at the bottom right, but in discord, its still wrong
anyone can help?
welp, set my time zone to Havana and ig it;s working fine 😁
whats the best way to get the most accurate cpu temps info?
Hwinfo64
thanks vintage
i am looking for a good affordable high refresh rate monitor, what do you guys recommend?
m27q
not super high refresh rate but mmmmmmm
price is killing me man
m27q is a great monitor for a 3070
oof 345 usd
usually 330 or less
anything under 200?
if you are doing 3070 build not worth buying monitor under 200
200 or less is going to be budgetish 144hz 1080p and if you want to play 1080p just get a 3060ti or 3060
usd?
Yes
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-nitro-xf243y-pbmiiprx-23-8-full-hd-monitor-hdmi/6425559.p?acampID=0&cmp=RMX&irclickid=2TG3c7RwnxyLRuU0EHQlB1XYUkB0fgXduTVZz40&irgwc=1&loc=RTINGS.com&mpid=1989377&ref=198&skuId=6425559 this one looks pretty good
144hz but can oc to 165hz
IPS
gsync support
mechanical keyboard?
Yeah
what budget
wired is like 40-60 on keychron (keychron is recommended budget keeb) and wireless is like 60-80
im not really an expert on mice, its really preference in that category
for mouse, if you have friends with mice you can try theirs, personally i have a logitech g502 but if you have smallish hands you might like a razer mouse more
I’ll go with whatever you recommend tbh 👍
do you know what type of switches you like?
will they restock NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3070?
in mechanical keyboards switches are the things under the keycap that basically sense you key press and there are 3 general types of switches: Linear, tactile, and clicky
Linear are smooth travel, tactile will have a little bump where the keypress is detected, and clicky, well click
Maybe tactile
or am i going to have to buy second hand
Or linear
they have been restocking they just sell out
cards are selling as fast as anyone can get them
ohh so i have to wait
You can try newegg shuffle that's how I got my 3070 and the 3060 I gave to my friend
probably best to go to best buy or something and try keyboards there to find a switch preference, then order a keychron with that type of switch. just for info, red switches are linear, browns are tactile, and blues are clicky. Im not sure if you can try mice at best buy but that too if you can.
Ok I’ll do that thanks @rich helm
@topaz void someone made a list/build for me but now it is not available and the one that are cost too much
none are available, you kinda just have to enter shuffles and try to win one and take whatever 3070 you can get
Yea unfortunately that's the case for a lot of people. or there are a lot of people without functioning computers who have everything but a gpu and no integrated graphics
ohh i didn't know they were in such high demand, if i enter the shuffle can i get it for under $800
some of the cheaper ones are like 740 or less
Right now a lot of them seem to be in bundles with other parts which if you don't use the other part makes them more than that but say it includes a b550 motherboard and you were planning on going amd you can jsut use that mobo instead and it wont be bad.
I got my evga ftw3 for $700 flat
and does it matter which one it is or does it just have to be 3070 because on their website they have a lot of different 3070
evga is one of the cheaper
what ever one you can get
Just take whatever 3070 you can get
if you get any of them then you are lucky
they're all similar enough that its not worth passing any of them up because you wanted a different one
ok thanks i'm not so familiar with pc things
Yea no problem
some one on offerup i was messaging was trying to trade 3070 strix for evga 3070/3060ti or fe 3070/3060ti
why isn't the strix literally the best one? lol
obviously msrp + cahs difference
they were putting it in mining rig and wanted their cards to match
they already had 3 evga ones
and they wanted an fe cause they thought it looked cool
i talked to him but i dont really want to pay 380 for an upgrade from my 3060ti to 3070
Also here is the link for shuffle enter daily between 1-3pm eastern time https://www.newegg.com/product-shuffle
Yea I wouldn't say thats worth it personally.
because mine is fe it is 400
like if it was 200 or less i would probably do it but yeah
ok thanks
not for more
i would have to replace my case in order to fit a strix card in it anyway
Yea that's fair
whats better rx 580 8gb or gtx 1060 6gb
Getting a 3060 friday
580
Roughly same clock speed, more vram
You can't compare clock speeds across completely different lineups btw but yes a 580 os better
fx 9590 better than i9 11900k
anything AMD is better than Intel at the moment, if specifically you are talking about Ryzen CPU's, at least 3900x and 5900x.
Eh 11400f vs a 5600 is questionable
11400 permorms very close to 5600 on gaming 🤔
Close, not as good but way better value
Ryzen 3000 prices have been inflated for a while, a 10850k or 10900 would be a better deal than a 3900x
But they do win in 5000 series yeah
Oh I absolutely agree the prices are out of this world, I was actually referencing the amazon hot list for CPU's and AMD is crushing it for most wanted. The only lucky MSRP break would be winning the newegg shuffle 🙂
Ahh yeah
If you can get it, best price to performance gaming value would be a 5900x.
Hey guys so friend has an laptop and he doesn’t know the password to it and they have important picture in there
Is there any way they can take it out
How good is i9 11900k for gaming
11700k
It's okay but terrible value, if you need 8 cores get a 5800x and a b550 if you need more get a 5900x or a 10850k or 10900 if you need cores on budget ish side
Or if you already have a b560/z490/z590 motherboard
@fossil cedar can u help me on these Hey guys so friend has an laptop and he doesn’t know the password to it and they have important picture in there
You could use Hirens Boot CD to remove the password
just google it and a tutorial on how to remove the password
That would do nothing
And outing it in a thing
Then use hirens boot cd
Remove the password...
yes
Ok thx
hey im looking for some help with building my pc. im runing into come issues with the websites pc builder tool. is this the place to ask these questions?
You should use pcpartpicker its a better website
ok, does it help me with tracking dimensions of hardware so things dont conflict with eachother. i think thats what im runing into with newegg. ive selected several components and am looking at GPUs but every search says no items that match my selections.
Yes it does
It shows you dimension conflicts but its still better to look at the manufactuers spec pages
ok cool. ill go check that out. thanks
11700k is good for games, I just upgraded from 3770k
not in the slighest
Cause I saw 11 gen is better for gaming
Never use userbenchmarks
10700K / 11700K is the best for the price currently
Sure but they are incredibly more expensive
For how much?
Oh, then wtf you talkin bout
Not bad then
Go get yourself a board, and plug that in
Den wtf ya waitin for?
Which one
Either, those would be the only key differences really
maybe 2X Dedicated 16X PCIE 4.0 slots that don't go to 8x 8x
They have pre flashed bios right
typically, yes
Personally I would rather have the Dark Hero for the looks and no chipset fan
Yah same
I have a X570 Pro WS ACE
New asus boards got VRM fans, efficient
Nah you got the CPU, use it
@celest sun which ones you
its a great CPU
Ok
Like which ones
Im using the Z590-E Strix board
Yes, also asus
Strix 3090 may require a little DIY cooling
A bit overkill, but yeah, need it
Omg how many hdd u got
9
Why
well, 4 HDD, 5 SSD/M2
5 m.2
Mass storage for Media
U have 5 m.2
2 M2, 3 ssd
What you don't see is the 40 copper heatsinks on the backplate under the fans
and to that I would say asus hands down. l
Reason: Bad word usage
Hell if i know, maybe summer
Ok
The 80 ti cards will probably have better cooling solutions
I see
Bro I have a 1050ti
In my old system
But I don’t want to use it in my new pc cause I don’t wanna bottleneck
Also
Are ll120 fans good
On lian li 011
What resolution you gaming at
1080p?
Sadly
I think
I am not sure
At the moment
I wanna game at 4K
How good are ll120
Why not just bring it over so you can use your new pc until you get a better card?
I don’t wan a bottleneck
Just play at 1080p until you get a better card
I play a t 1080
There's always gonna be a bottleneck in your system, it does no harm
Idk much about rgb fans try ask #old-cooling
Why would you?
Cause I’ll match the other fans
What arctic cooler? The aio?
Well i mean you could but in that case you would be better off getting a ek aio but if you already have it would be fine just possibly perform not as well
Noctua and NZXT is best, imo
Yes but their fans are a part of that
Ohhh
Nzxt overpriced and meh
So what’s the difference
Ehh depends on the fan you replace it with
Good CFMs, long warranty
So which one is the best if I replanted it with ll120
Cubic feet per meter?
Artic has a 6 year warranty
Nzxt fans look bad
Good too
Air movement is typically measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM)
Do you already have the aio? If not and want rgb get the ek one or galahad if you want white
Rads need static pressure tho too
Sorry what?
Here I am for sure using ll120
Intel doesn't make AIO's lol
Just get an AIO and put the LL120's on it, they're fine for AIO use
Here u tell me which is the best aio for ll120
AHhh then get an ek aio or galahad
They also stopped packaging Stock coolers with their CPU's, not cool
Well yeah, they're heat boxes
Well the i5s still have stock coolers
Meh, who the hell wants an I-5
the 11700
I5's are just fine for quite a few people
I am in between ek and artic
A lot of people
Maybe Galahad
Waste of sand ;-;
Why tho? The ek ones are good
Yeah if you replace
Well artic has better performance right
I am replacing the fans on the aio
So artic or ek
Why bother replacing fans? Just so controlled with 1 software?
If replacing anyway go arctic i guess
They are almost the same preformence so get whatever is cheaper
Ik but than it won’t look good 6 ll and 3 aio fans
Arctic usually
Yes
Well acc the ek non rgb is cheaper acc
I think it would look fine you won't notice the diff in shape or whatever
EK rgb
The reason the ek rgb is so nice is the rgb on the waterblock too
So why not get ek and not replace fans
ikr
But I already bought the fans
Arctic number 1 ek closely follows
Keep them as spare? Or something? Return them?
Keep the ek fans spare
Yah
So this is what I might do replace than fans and buy the ek
But at the same time I want the performance on the artic
Yeah they pretty close in perf
Temp price to show it's out of stock
Ohhhh
Weird tho
Aios dont really cool vrms
Well arctic has a fun
Oh
Hardly does any diff tho
Yes i said
Yeah sorry took to long
All good
So VRN doesn’t really matter right
The small fun doesnt matter
VRM has nothing to do with AIO and everything to do with CPU
I see
Ok
Do I have to change the pump speed
Hey guys is $154.99 standard price for ek
For 360mm i think yes
Ok
When I install the aio will I have to change anything
Ike the fans speed of possible
Pump speed
i mean it will just use your motherboards default one so
it will just use your default cpu fan curve for your motherboard but you can adjust
6 intake? what case are you using?
youll need to enable xmp in the bios to get your ram to run at its rated speed
@fossil cedar lian li o11
so do 4 exhaust 6 intake?
Where
is there not a place at the back for a fan?
ohh it doesnt
Don’t think so
emm idk side might be better off exhaust im not sure tho
What about top
most cases do thats why i was confused
Heat rises
exhaust def
Ehh exhaust would have the back of the cage facing into the case
I am planning to 3 exhaust on the aio and rest intake
But idk
If anyone else got any good suggestions let me know
Guys should I get an warranty
All products will come with a warranty
Additional warranties are a waste imo
You'll still be able to return all the products will come with a warranty of some sort, iirc eks one is at least a few years
Newegg I'd assume
Ok
Black cage in case. You want to set it up so you have good flow into the case, cooler air coming in from the front/bottom, and warmer air coming out the top/back. In my case (no pun intended), I got 3 in, 1 exhaust, and my aio fans pushing out from the radiator on top.
if you can get the airflow balanced, it will be your best scenario.
anyone ever build in a focus g case, just wondering if I should get some cable extensions? (build not started)
for the power?
the case looks like its completely open, no shroud for the psu, no way to tuck the cables aside. you may not need them at all
yeah
that's teh "ding" on this case, no basement shroud
I'll go behind where I can but I have a modular so I shouldn't have a rats nest at the bottom
but I didn't want to run into a cable being too short
spose I'll just build it and if I gotta go to MC then I gotta go.
Hmm, personally I would say get the cable extensions..here's why. If something happens with the psu and you need to swap, you only need to open one place
and not fiddle with the front setup
not bad logic
i had to swap psu units, and it was tons easier then having to play fish for the cpu power headers
of course! modular is the best
So much easier than a cord sticking out to shove into a case
But when you do swap, they really recommend to swap the cables as well to all devices...just something to know if it ever happens. the extensions will definitely help in this case
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JXcYZZ thoughts? mainly for light gaming such as valorant and minecraft. not sure abt the gpu choicr
Don't buy a 1030 for 170$ just get an i5 11500 and use the onboard graphics til you get a card
mmm true
And get ballistix 3600cl16 for a bit more and an id cooling se 224xt, gammaxx 400 or vetroo v5, also if you plan to get a 30xx gpu you will want a bigger psu
Nvm didn't see you had the vetroo at the bottom
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VVV6fP @little osprey I'd recommend something like this
3600c16 is 20 usd more than 3200c16
iirc the only difference between them is clocking eith tRDC
i can just oc the first kit
would prob go for something like a 1660s or 3060ti
3600 is like 10 or 15 more no? And okay but same okay but that means you actually have to oc your ram and stress test instead of just using xmp
you get what you paid for, I'd pay the extra amount to keep it consistant
I believe you just click the ones you want
Ok
Then def go 600w instead of 550 incase you get 3060ti
This is a long shot, but would any of you happen to recognize this case?
It came with a pre-built I bought years ago and I'm thinking of cannibalizing it to make a new build. Trying to decide if I should stay with the case or not, I wanted to look at reviews
Well, I'll just give you a professional opinion, looks like it sucks
/s
But seriously, doesn't look good
What do you think makes it poor?
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it and other parts were a bit subpar
The front side 'intakes'
The logo 🤢
Build quality won't be good of course, that's kind of taken for granted, but I won't have faith in the fans installed for being good, on top of what looks to be pretty poor intake on the front.
So I'll probably plan on getting a new case, thanks.
And ofc there's no good precedents in terms of the cases they use for prebuilts xD
https://youtu.be/rRlCtp_q1YM
CyberPower PC's GMA-4600-BST is one of the worst pre-builts we've worked with in the last few years and thermal throttles its Ryzen CPU like crazy.

Anyways, new case is going to be nice
besides, what Front I/O connections it has that wouldn't be using 3.2?
I should at least be able to salvage the ram, the SSD, and the liquid CPU cooler
Depends depends and depends
I have no idea what brand the cooler is but my CPU hasn't exploded yet
Ram, depending on speed, is most likely fine, but the SSD, if it's like a wd green or smth, into the trash can it goes xD
And aio from prebuilts are always a bit sus, unless you can recognize it as some decent retail part
true, tho it should only last at least 5 years at max..so might be better just getting a new AIO instead
fair, how overclocked was this beast?
The ram runs at 2800ish I think, if BIOS is to be believed. It's not the best ever but it'll save some money for now
The Ryzen's base block is 4.7 and this CPU let's it overboost to around ~5ghz
Wait
Uh
Maybe it was 3.7
That'll make a lot more sense
Yeah I mixed my number up
5ghz on Zen+ would be very impressive
yeah really might as well keep it as is for bragging rights lol!
I'm happy it does it's own thing without me needing to fiddle with it
❤️ XMP/DOCP
I'm honestly not sure, but I do have a decent 1TB HD that I can use even if this one isn't salvageable
How much difference would new ram even make? Even if this is a little on the iffy side.
Could just grab like, dunno, hd sentinel or crystal disk info, and find dat info
Big difference, both for general system boost speed and CPU speed
It's a cyber power custom case but better options
without an overclock
That's good to know, thank you. Maybe I will look for new ram.
I mean
@cedar falcon depends depends depends :p
The difference it makes varies vastly
Depends on many things
Mainly depends on CPU and task
Some tasks scales great with faster ram, some don't care
Lmao even the cooler has their logo on it
right. is it all play or also for working? that also will help your decision.
Yep, depends on the task
Some games love it, some don't, some workstation tasks love it, some don't care
Mostly play, but I do video editing as a second job / hobby
Pokémon card??
I have lots of virtualization, so I need higher cores. Great for work, gaming don't care as much, but still fast enough, memory at 3200, low CL's, runs smooth for both.
could go higher, yes, is it worth the $$, maybe not THAT much...would you ever see the difference in the real world, no. In benchmarks, yes. In gaming, never.
ok clarifying, you can see it in gaming...but if you're on the fence between 3200 and 3600 it's not the same as 3200 to 4000
when you factor in the timings
It's still good for gains of 3 to 10%
So there's finishing returns?
yeah but at what cost? If you're gonna get 5% increase for the upgrade, it's not worth it. 10-15%, absolutely
I mean, it's 20$ in a 1000$+ build for a 5% gain when you're talking about 2x8 of 3200c16 against 3600c16
oh for that amount yes. Sorry i was thinking around 64GB not 16GB
Yea it makes less sense for workstation loads with more ram
But eh
Some tasks can still utilize 4x16 of 3600c16 over 3200c16
but shoot, 3200cl16 or 3600cl16, of course the latter.
Pretty sure someone was tuning ram in #overclocking a while ago and was able to cut like 10% off the rendering time necessary for their work
one day when i have the patience i will try to oc the ram
Found it, more like 5%, but still, that's a really nice gain for just messing around with timings without buying new ram or anything
Alright, the results are in.
Original memory speed of 3000 Mhz 15-17-17-35 ran the video encode at 641.78 seconds.
3333 Mhz 16-17-17-35 (which wasn't really refined further), encoded the video at 629.25 seconds.
3600 Mhz 16-20-20-38 encoded the video in 620.35 seconds.
Hm, copying text doesn't work well on mobile
Oh well
So my motherboard doesn’t have wireless WiFi but thats fine because I just got an Ethernet cable today but it’s not detecting my pc
I don’t think the cable is at fault, it’s brand new
a couple days ago a got an hp pro book g2 that had no ram or hard drive i was able to replace all the missing parts
and i now have a working laptop
But if anyone has any solutions or anything I can do to fix it pls ping me
what is your problem
I just plugged my Ethernet cable in but my pc isn’t detecting it
do you have the drivers installed
Wat drivers
Yeah
ok you need to get drivers
It's detecting the pc..?
What about it
they should have ethernet drivers built into windows
yea well not always
So does the Ethernet just not show up in the wireless settings?
Yeah it doesn’t show up
you will need an all drivers disk to put in a cd drive
Don’t I need WiFi in order to download the drivers
no there is an all drivers disk where you can install drivers from a cd
your welcome
And also, you can do it through usb stick
Download driver using different pc onto stick, plug it in, and run the installation
ok i just use a cd
USB stick works better for me thank youuuu
ok
a couple days ago a got an hp pro book g2 that had no ram or hard drive i was able to replace all the missing parts'
i now have a working laptop
@vast cosmos Did you take a 108MP photo on an S21 Ultra or something? Because those images are huge, so much so that the Discord application couldn't even load them, so I had to open them in browser

Yeah it is
Lol
100MP+ photos are so fun
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/H2zNVc what do you guys think of this build obviously I can't get a 3080 right now but if the 3080ti comes out and I can get that I'll probably go for that instead
I don't see anything particularly wrong with it, I will say though that 5950x will give you quite a bit of trouble to find too
@tiny tusk what u using the pc for
A mix of things gaming/school work/stuff for cybersecurity/editing videos and running servers @wicked frigate
I chose that case cuz I like cubes
You need a motherboard with flashback. That 1 doesn't support 5000 Ceres out of the Box
Wow voice to text is bad
Yea I know I gotta do a bios update
You have a 3000 series to do it with?
What are the odds my b550 board will support my 5600x without me needing to flash the BIOS?
Yea got a 3000 to do it from my old build @muted patio
tuf x570 is supposed to have bios flahsback no?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HQYHF8
Is this a good setup I want to get one when the gpus are not expensive anymore
Is the ssd overkill or not or should I just get a normal one
get a pilot e and a corsair 4000d airflow case
Ok
970 evo is evil
tf is the diff in 970 or 980
980 is higher number and that's why they do it 100x more expensive
970 980 evo ssd m.2
970 is half a decade old, it's decent performing, but old and expensive, 980 non-pro is newer, it uses newer nand tech and HMB instead of the usual dram cache, but still performs pretty nicely
@little osprey what's with the cooler, motherboard, and ssd?
If you like rgb, go with Lian Li galahad
I dont like lian li they make it expensive for no reason like rog
Mobo wise, you'll want a motherboard with bios flashback in case the mobo arrives with older bios
Uh what
@little osprey it's literally cheaper than the h150i
And performs better
Lol
@little osprey hell, if you don't want expensive things, ek-aio is even cheaper and still has rgb
Meh
Lian li is epic
I hate the o11, the rest of lian li is nice
How much is the tu150
Which aio the 240mm one or 360?
@little osprey swap the case for a coolermaster td500 mesh and get the 360mm one
Ok
Ok
A board with bios flashback, any of them tbh, I like b550 aorus pro ac, but many options out there.
change that drive, its sata
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mhwhXb that would do a lot better @little osprey
acc that one changed to an 850w revolution df
Yea was just about to ask if the 750W psu is enough
and the one i put together is exactly same price
it is but revo such a deal
Ok
its exactly the same price to the cent as well lol
What country? And the mobo it's hardly diff
Just use de.pcpartpicker.com
Can you just tell me a good x570 for ryzen 5900x
Undo that gpu change, also theres pcpp germany
Ok
Using the normal pcpp confuses people a lot
Why do you need x570 tho >:p
I meant psu change btw
I dont isnt it better?
Revolution d.f. is better than RM yea
It's literally the same platform, except it didn't get crappified by Corsair, and is the multi-rail varients
What's wrong with the psu?
Corsair decided to downgrade the caps on RM
No gigabyte psu not good
Oh
Oh wait
It's p-gm now
@little osprey p-gm literally blew up in testing
And that's not a joke
The primary switching FETs blew up with a hell of a bang. The thing literally exploded
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/gigabyte-gp-p750gm-750-w/12.html
Ok thanks for telling me
Just use pcpp germany and then we'll fix it, no point im using us pricing if you're from Germany
Ya
We base a lot of our decisions on price we can see
The more accurate the price we can see, the better suggestions we can make
??
We're asking you to use it because we're getting confused
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/
Ohh lol
We can't tell you what's cheaper if we don't know pricing
just use pcpp de because you can always find cheaper deals and we can make recommendations compared to german pricing
Well talk tomorrow bc imma sleep now
Okai
@stoic island thermal paste for gpu? Nt n2 from notcua or mx4
btw enermax revoution df 850w should still be on your list its like 118€ atm
@clear moat I mean, generally people that bother with repasting gpu go straight up as far as liquid metal, but both thermal pastes will work
That is the cpu I want to buy for my build. I wonder if I can get on a wait list at that price. I'll take 10 please 🙂
Oh I have a 5900x
uh
Can you run a pc with a Ryzen cpu without a gpu⁉️
If the Ryzen CPU ends with a G, yes
But those as CPU's aren't that great for when you get a GPU
If you're considering an AMD 3600/5600, get an INtel 11400/11500 instead
iGPU is a bit worse on Intel but the CPU you get with it is better than a 3400G by a long shot
buy 4950 simple
@stoic island I'm replacing thermal pads and etc so just wanted an okay paste to put on there
not available in NA, at least for the most part
Where paste works, any decent paste still works
Guys I have a question
Can I start building my computer with no gpu and cooler
Like prep the mobo and put it in the case
and fans
Yes but can be a lot easier to put your cooler in outside of the case sometimes so that's worth considering
Ok
yess
I mean, I'd just go for CPU, ram and a new NVME
I heard I should upgrade to a 3600
5600x, 3600 mhz C16 ram and a mushkin Pilot E 1 TB NVME
is that true?
That should be about $500 right there.
And a new power supply too
Motherboard, GPU and monitor are fine
Maybe a 1440P monitor if you wanted to upgrade
what about cpu cooler
Lemme make a list real quick
SOmething like this, $750. Power supply is a bit overkill but allows room to upgrade down the road. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TjGqfP
what about case
Case is fine
If you want a new case, Corsair 4000D Airflow, Phanteks P500A, something with a mesh front
ok
so what about the ram
All of that is in my list..........
oh ok
didn't see it
for ram I might suggest Ballistix? its on $89 for 16GB 3600
where
is mushkin good?

Ahhhhh

Just wait a sec
ballistix*
3600 is $105 last I checked
107
I heard that mr1111 recommanded ballistix
Stick with my list then
I misread it when i clicked the link, I searched 3600 and it linked me 3200 for whatever reason
wow thats a bit more expensive than it is in canada lol
Are you going to overclock your ram?
yes
You are

um lemme just check reall quick
Yep!
Bling
If you want it
Nothing else IMO needs to be upgraded
ANother drive maybe
larger storage
You declined monitor
it was just a windows update lol, nothing specific
meh I have extra storage
Case then
I got a 1 TD SSD
was trying to update drivers
and some RGB if that tickles your fancy
and 1TD HDD
what driver
alr
maybe I will be thinking of buying a new table
um the newest one for the intel graphics
for another montior
Ahhh, get that from Intel instead of Windows
whatever is cheapest
yea i tried, but the issue is, i downloaded it but
But....
Mx5 is my go-to rn
wait wdym?
