Its really hard to identify where exactly its coming from but someone I know with a Legion 5i and the same problem had opened theirs back cover and listened to the noise. They also told me that the noise is coming from cpu. In your case it might be different, but its mooost likely coming from cpu. Also note that it looks like everyone with the problem has an Intel cpu. By the way, noise keeps going on for me even when I unplug the charger.
Coil whine it's actually pretty pretty common, increase with mouse movement etc. is also a common case. So its completely harmless, unless youre disturbed by it you don't have to try to fix it.
The fixes might be undervolting (you need to modify bios for this, a bit hard), driver updates, maybe messing with power plan a bit and reducing power consumption of cpu. The best and guaranteed way to ged rid of it is either a new laptop or replacement of motherboard. If you can't return it anymore, you can try sending it to technical service and they may replace the motherboard if youre lucky.
I have tried the power plan thing but couldn't achieve anything, Im also checking for driver updates nearly daily maybe a downgrade might work too but all those things have downsides that are too big for such a noise.
I will just try to get used to it I guess. Also found that many of Lenovo's laptops already have this problem and people even get coil whine with replacement units so Im not thinking about contacting them too.

Well, its the coil whine coming from cpu. So undervolting may work. You can also try lowering the maximum processor frequency to something around ~90% (which didn't help in my case).
The only real solution is the change of motherboard. I don't know which country you live in and how consumer laws work there but if you can't get a moneyback Lenovo most likely won't change mobo with warranty because its something completely harmless and common (especially on Intel Legion 5/7s)

That statement makes no sense. Every desktop AMD chip can overclock, the new ones just do it differently with PBO. Intel on the other hand locks overclocking to their k sku parts.

Overkill? Not at all, but you can get way better parts for your money. That 144Hz monitor for example, I got a 1440p 165Hz for that price. It's running nicely with my 2070.

You probably don't need 32GB of memory unless you're doing editing or maybe high res streaming, 16GB is plenty for gaming. You can save some money there and use that for a better CPU, like a 3700X or 5600X. Also you might want to switch the Barracuda for a WD Blue.
The 5600X is better for gaming, the 3700X would be better for things that need more cores like rendering or maybe streaming

Same price but the WD is a known reliable brand, while Seagate tends to have high fail rates
Also you don't have to pay full price for a Windows license, a cheap ebay key works if you buy from a reputable seller. Microsoft doesn't care where the key comes from.
