Is the two pc system for streaming, dead? Combine the 3090 with a 3990x thread ripper and you have a mega beast of a computer. However, as tech increases that allows for higher FPS and lower use of overall vram/cores, the “better” or more intensive encoding will be on systems like Slobs or OBS Studio. So I guess the question is, will encoding tech be stuck long enough for gpus and cpus to get even better, or will both techs be somewhat side by side? The next upgrade for “general”/“commercial” encoding would be h.265, right? I would think that once that type of encoding is used more often by regular people/ streamers, the less bang for your buck you will get. The GPU/cpu combo mentioned above, may go from using 30% GPU power and 10% cpu power for streamlabs, but five years from now, it may be 60%/20% power used. Does what I am saying make sense? So, if that is the case, then is the two pc stream setup really dead and will it ever be dead?

Yeah, no. I'd have an NVME drive for boot and a couple of games that benefit from fast loading. The hard drive is for documents and games that don't need to load super fast.

well temps will rise a little if your pc has been off for a while

once cpu is at room temp when pc is shut down, and you turn pc on, ofc cpu will heat up a bit

also by choppy do you mean on stream its choppy or is the preview in slobs choppy? and by choppy do you mean screen tearing a lot or more of like a stutter/buffer kinda look

Siege is not the issue, rn I'm streaming 1080p60fps to twitch with nvenc for fun with 3800x+2070 at 30% cpu usage in menu, and the fps doesn't change in menu.

could be the issue, but try streaming and watch it on another device to see if it is choppy while watching it instead of looking at the preview window

if its like that on stream as well then could be upload speed issue, if not, then could be the preview window for whatever reason which it shouldnt do that and id suggest just capping frames

yeah thats what im talking about, streamlabs doesnt even report frame skips of anything and I have it set to alert for 1% just to get a grip on things during setup

Hey I have two questions that I would like to preface by saying I currently have an i7-10700F and a 3060ti with 16gb ddr4 3ghz RAM with a B460M motherboard and 600W EVGA 90+ PSU. First question is would it be even monetarily worth it to upgrade my CPU to a i9-10900k? Second question would be would it even be worth it to upgrade to 32gb of RAM? For context, I stream games, occasionally edit videos, and mostly use my PC for school
