P500A yes
is it bigger
its thinner
but good
ok cool
phanteks and coolermaster have the best airflow imo
CPU idles 30C
What cpu?
3700x
Hows the GPU against the glass?
I've got about 2.5"
Plenty of room
GPU is 65C max load
I also have 3x140mm intake fans lol
i have an mb511 and my cpu idles at 35c (new build with with ryzen 9 and 3080)
ok im in Farenhieght everyone
uh...
im an iddiot american lol
i use the metric system sooooo
one moment
pc's use the metric system
86f
ik i am slowly learning
ok. now the hardest part. sound cards wired network stuff
Motherboard has all that
i mean with the o11 you could have 2 aio's one as a gpu aio
Ethernet, sound, everything
oh it does. ok didnt know
old pc's needed those
how would i do that
do i need that or wil ltemps be ok
the side mounted fan/aio slot
its optional but gpu temps get very low in my experience
compounds?
thermal compond/paste
AIO will come with compound
pre-applied
If you don't want to use that though, Arctic Silver MX-4 or MX-5
ahh ok.sorry to ask again how many fans will i need
sometimes it doesnt
phanteks at least... 6-7
since the AIO will come with 3
p500a comes with two fans right?
and corsair fans
true
and what size fans
120mm is perfect for anything tbh
I run 140mm in the front, so 3 of those
4000X could work
and a 120mm for the back
corsair fan
nf p12 redux best airflow from what i know
1 120 back?
so rad on top to pull air out and fronts to pull air in
Yep
so for price range this is good first build
ahh one moment there are so many it over welming
and the 120.
yeah
also how the hell do you do this so easily and quicklyu
ohh makes sense. im only 25
so i got tw 120 mm fans and 4 becuase of 2 packs of the 140. just in case
Sure!
ok cool. and its under 3k
i got the arctic silver 5 high density polysynthetic is that the one you were talking about for thermal paste
damn
also sorry i left, i helped the best i could tbh vintage took care of the rest
All good

my last post it that the thermal paste you recommended @muted patio
That'll work
also @heavy marsh should i try for a bigger gpu or is that good
for me the reason i know how to do stuff quickly kinda like vintage is because its my job and i worked my ass of for 2 years using monke bran to lern computur
i mean as long as it fits i guess but i dont think there really is a reason to change
ok. cool
wait the case u chose comes with enough front fans tbh
yeah rgb makes thing way to expensive i dont care about it. i like preformace and ability. so thanks everyone especially vintage and cyro
vintage said it would be smart to replace them due to the arnt the best
the nf p12 redux would perform better i think
u want to see the final build cyro
this one. differant fans then the rgb ones
final build. this is awsome. now once i get everything is the build process. and not lossing my mind
because they 2 packs
i would rather have extras and not need them and have to on hand though
the aio comes with good fans i think
ah ok
what vintage said lol
tho u could get the nf p12 redux and the nf p14 redux
im just glad in under 3k. so far better than my 4k buget
pretty good airflow from what i have seen
140mm fans on a 360m rad?
no rad will be on top
yeah top to pull out front to push in
didn't realize you weren't counting aio fans earlier
that what vintage said
aio has included fans
2 monitors for fps games? tf
i do alot of other things while gaming.
the crosshair gonna be on one side
I don't envy the cable management job you're gonna have lmao
Oh
lolol ik. slappy especially for first build
i had to give a client straight cables once...
You need one more thing
no one monitor for game two others for admin stuff
what
Need something to plug all thos fans into!
that actually would be pretty godlike for you yeah
bruh do W I D E gamining
i dont like curved monitors.
I forget if the corsair 2-packs come with lighting nodes
ahh ok thank you
imagine that sort of cm but the cables had to be side by side AND STRAIGHT, thats what a client wanted
🥲
ikr
every good case needs a cable dungeon!
i have an msi 1920x1080 144htz top monitor right now
cable ramen
so 2 more monitors and mointing brackets for them
four monitors lmao, one in mid, 2 on sides, one above mid
currently using a tri monitor setup
thinking of getting two samsung g9's one for mid and one above mid and i want to make the two i had on the sides verticle for discord reading and stream chat reading
that the monitor i bought on black friday
not bad
so to ask about monitor and that should i go to peripherals
gonna do something like this but both mid monitors are gonna be samsung g9's
cool. i wanna stay with flat/straught monitors. personal. i cant do curved . i move way to much
im honestly thinking of doing external mic and seperate headset for the build.
get a hyper x quadcast, its a good mic
idk. about mic. i do want a pair of steinhausers though. they seem big and confy
with good sound
sennheiser has really good audio quality
yeah. playing tarkov has ruined me for basic headsets with mics. it sucks
but the logitech g pro headsets also sound nice and are probs more comfy
if you want peripheral help go to #peripherals-and-displays the experts live there
i using a razer kraken tournament edition. and i love how big and confy they are.
what mouse and keeb u rockin tho?
k95 cosair keyboard.
mouse?
one moment
aight
corsair ironclaw rgb.
hate that for aobutt 2 years
it is big and one one issue i have is the side mesh type thing i hate
does periperals cover everything from m & k and monitors and all that
first off, get rid of the mouse
pretty much everything except pc itself
#old-monitors-and-tv for monitors and tvs
i like the size i really do. i bought i for a reason
only problem i have is the mess side on it
#old-cooling for well yeah
other than that i love the mouse i have
i will be looking into a new on. and i heard good things about thoughs. and ik they come wired to
way more worth
do thoughs have the two side buttons also
yes
ok. that and the thumb rest were my main thing
i have a bad habit of bearing my thumb and pinky down when i get tense in gaming and that thumb rest really helps keep me from doing that as much
get a razer basilisk v2 then
does it have that mesh crap
Reason: Bad word usage
what lol
its actually bigger than the deathadder v2 lmao
ok
so just making sure the #peripherals-and-displays would definatly be able to help with external mic and headset and all that fun stuff
there is a basilisk ultimate which is wireless and comes with that charging dock i think
if drag is an issue for you then get a bungee
sure
If you have a medium to largeish hand, the curves on the Basilisk will feel like a natural fit. (Or at least to me it does in both palm and fingertip grips.)
It won't feel big, but it also won't feel small. Which is what I guess is what they were going for.
In terms of feel, the big difference between the Deathadder and the Basilisk is that the peak of the palm swell of the Deathadder is more toward the center, and the Basilisk is shifted towards the back.
It's a personal preference thing.
I used to have that same pinky and thumb issue with my crappy Dell mouse, and I've never had it on either the Basilisk or the Corsair Nightsword. (Own and love both of those.)
The Deathadder feels nice, but it lacks a that "sniper" button on the side. (only has the two side buttons instead of three.)
For me that's a dealbreaker, but everyone has different needs.
eeeeeee
thanks @lime forge i dont want the third button i ok with just two on the side
not that of an upgradable setup, but it could probably go well with most games
gonna make these last for ummm
6 years?
1650s should be ok with 450w 🤔
that's perfect..
Yeah
I used a 450w with my brothers 5500xt
As long are you’re not overclocking a 10900k with it
You’ll be fine
im honestly scared to overclock my 3800x since i only have 600w at my disposal
where the recommended psu for my gpu is like 650w something
Reason: Duplicated text
i finally benchmarked my pc and it turned out pretty epic, any ideas on how to improve HDD rating?
that's a lot of fans...with no case ?
ubm yikes..
yikes? oh no
not your drive performance, just the website itself
you're drive should be fine, crystaldisk is a good software to test drives. but if you're worried about its performance u could try and defragment it through windows explorer.
ive run a cinebench but didnt know the best benchmark to use for my gpu
its only 2 weeks old so im sure its fine
just run unigen heaven or 3d mark time spy. they're free benchmarking tools
cool ty
unigen heaven might take a bit, same goes for time spy
ah okay
I like Unigen heaven/superposition because they're more "free" than the 3dmark demos
What I do @frozen axle is just play a big game and if your gpu has the software turn the fan up
alright
nop the case is not in the pcpp and it's a kinda known local brand so i didn't include it
how bad could that be? that build doesn't even look like i'll try to oc it neither push it to its limits. i dunno which fans to get tbh
and no, not noctua
i'm trying to not hit the $833.3333333333333 price point
ok i'll see if i can find one here
If you can get the p12 pwm pst co versions
oh yeah arctic has some rlly good chep fans
btw how bad the psu could be?
Like awful
Cheap poorly built group regulated design
Get the segotep gp600 if you want a cheap psu
Or corsair cx450/cx550
Just dont get the cv that you are looking at
oh ok ic
Hey has the best money to performance $700 build been changed at all since I last was here?
then somewhat, yes
Got a link?
to what?
The build lol
oh
I am not the greatest when it comes to building one, although I know my way around and what does what
no one has made a build like that in a while
Aw I see
a video that is
just generally, with new parts coming out, the best price - performance build changes wildly
@next kestrel what case is that?
idk, i got it for 10$ on offerup
can someone make a pc on partpicker under $900 it has to be amd.
for?
gaming? video editing?
and why does it have to be amd?
10400f is a compelling option for value right now
this generation was the last of the AM4 CPUs
next generation is going to need a new motherboard and new RAM
for DDR5
am4
the socket that AMD has been using for a while now
im not saying its bad but this was the last year for AM4
so if you arent going to upgrade for a few years, I would get AMD, but if you plan on upgrading soon, get Intel
@steep nimbus ?
opinion on rosewell cases
good, but you can go better usually
like?
what price point?
around a 100
p400a digital
Newegg?
$100? P500A too
ive been on the amds for over 30 years
so ur 35 yr
63
idk
same amount of new cpus
AMD allows sidegrades for more cores as well if you get something like a 5600x and stop gaming
and intel 1200 is done as well
amd fanboying/herd mentality
Can someone help
When I use a custom res my monitor refuses to get fully stretched and my games stays native
I have a rx479
470*
what custom res?
What resolution is your monitor?
So set it to that, what happens?
it goes to native
But when I use custom res, my monitor gets a lil bit stretched
But not fully
And my games stays native
Like fortnite
Well, yeah, that's what happens with a custom resolution
The panel is 1920x1080
So any other resolution will look a bit funny
Some popular fortnite youtuber made a vid about how to get stretched res yesterday
And I did all the steps, and my fortnite is still native
Change the resolution in the game
not the desktop
No, that has nothing to do with it
IDK honestly what you're trying to do
Sounds more like FOV to me
In the game
ok so
This guy made a tutorial on how to get stretched res
I did all the steps
My monitor refuses to become stretched
And my game refuses to become stretch
Why stretched res? Trying to increase field of view?
Nah
I just like it
it makes me aim and edit better
And I don’t like thin games
Well, 1920x1080 isn't a stretched resolution though
No i said 1920 is my native
Not the res I’m trying to use
I’m trying to use 1722x1070
I created that custom res and selected it on my display settings
then my screen gets a lik stretched
But not much
Hi, new to PC gaming here. I want to build an iRacing Sim (don't plan to do much other gaming) and am looking for PC advice. I see Newegg has 2 ABS Master Gaming PC's, one for $1,100 with a Ryzen 5, 3600x and for $1,400 a Ryzen 7 with a Rezen 7 with a 3700x. I plan to use Oculus 2 Vir headset. Is it really worth it to buy the 3700 over the 3600? Will I really see a difference?

That’s how I feel right now
I swear
It’s getting on my nerves
why are you decreasing the resolution?
I mean, that's not how things work lol
It’s stretched res
Trying to widescreen fortnight on a 1080p monitor

Bruh
Can’t send links here
Goddam
He has a 1920
and he made a custom res (1722)
And look how stretched his fortnite is
Mine refuses to become stretched
Do I need to update my drivers? Or reinstall

i think he is using the ingame res
not the monitor
Nah
That used to be the old method
but fortnite banned stretched res , so we have to use this method
You see how stretched his monitor is?
mine isn’t like that
I mean
I don’t know why the picture shows black bars
but anyways
My monitor refuses to become fully stretched
the only way i known to get it sorta stretched would be changing the aspect ratio
to what
4:3?
This is annoying
he also did this on nVidia, not AMD
21:9?
No
Nooo
You don’t understand
ah
He didn’t use nvidia to get the res
I'm literally watching the video!!!
And yeah, he used Aspect ratio in the nVidia settings to do it
I can do that on amd
lol just play you native res instead, adapt to monitor res.
He uses custom resolution utility
Aka cru
heh, I'll bet fortnight blocked that app
but my friend still uses the stretched res
He did that method yesterday
And it worked for him
And he has a rx570
I’m getting mad
No cap
this is annoying as hell
@muted patio is it some kind of driver problem?
should I try updating my drivers , because I don’t update drivers
I have no idea, to be honest this whole thing seems silly
:/
I mean
so no one knows how to fix it
This isn't going to make you a better player
well
It does
- I don’t like thin games, 2. My aim and editing is way better on stretched
- Native looks ugly
I mean, CRU is from 2012
It doesn’t matter
All that matters is everyone is using it
And it works
Why is my monitor refusing to work
I’m actually done with life
I always have the worst luck
Nothing works right for me
what are you trying to do?
Stretched res
he is trying to do stretch resolution for fortnite on a 1770x1080 monitor or somthing like that
thats dumb
bro
dont do that
I never asked if it was dumb or not
just get used to native res
No
then suffer i guess
fr just get used to native
I’m already used to it
doing weird stuff just messes up ur aim in the long run
literally yes i used to be a semi pro fps player
stretched res is dumb and anything you see it just placebo
oof lol
Core i5 4590
Aim stretched res works for me
Stretched res works for you?
we both play TitanFall. I play with a Kraber. the deal is that this is the game where aiming and hitting a shot within a millisecond matters. We know what we are talking about. you need perfect resolution, perfect monitor, nothing messed up, or you are dead.
Fortnight disabled the regular display changes
stfu
Amd is horrible with custom res
So now there's some weird program people are using
Siege stretched res matters because it's 1 pixel peek vs 2 pixel peek
@hollow grail I tried to use amd but as I said no matter what I do my monitor refuses to become fully stretched
yeah tactical stuff benefits from it
not twitchy stuff
it literally refuses stretched
I don't know what else stretched can do
like your monitor refuses it?
controller on display might not like your shenanigans
like 1440x1080 is supposed to be so stretched
and when I use it
My monitor looks stretched and native combines
combined*
monitor is prolly fixing itself
is it a driver provlem
problem*
should I try reinstalling windows?
I have a lot of driver updates but I don’t do them
i mean u should be up to date driver wise no matter what
fortnight disabled stretched reesolutions. So now people are using some Registry editor program to force it
Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) is an EDID editor that focuses on custom resolutions. CRU shows you how the monitor defines resolutions and other capabilities and gives you the power to change it. Add
That's for lili
oh
because you left that out
oh interesting lol
here
well it seems like your display just doesnt like stretched res
which is unfortunate i guess
that's what I told em
you were right then
it's just a compatibility thing man
very few people here use that
2.I choose that resolution in my display
if cru works
then the issue is with your display
so fortnite's ability to prevent it has improved
My life sucks now
because fortnite clearly doesn't want you doing that
I always have the worst stuff
it's literally just a fortnite cheat tf
lmao
Yup
who will win: literal game engine dev vs one dev making hacktool in their spare time
try other games

oh true
hes too powerful
don't use fullscreen
...
use fullscreen windowed
hell no
ok then
gamers
It doesn’t fix it
no cap
the hacktool is against Epic's TOS if they're counting it as a cheat and trying to prevent it
which means, pros won't be using it
because it'll get them BANNED
No
That video was made a month ago
You can’t get banned for stretched
Fortnight probs updated it and blocked it again
where we droppin boys
"A new rule about screen resolutions in Fortnite: Battle Royale competitions has been the target of criticism by professional players. Epic Games has announced that it has locked the screen resolution to native 16:9 for PC players in Arena Mode and other online Fortnite competitions, which means players can’t use stretched resolution from now on."
Fortnite only banned stretched fov
Now when you use stretched you don’t get fov advantages
then
what are you trying to do
seems pointless
decrease your horizontal/vertical DPI instead if it's a hitbox thing
it's a fortnite cheat. that's literally it
I’m not only talking about fortnite
see what this guy said
I’m talking about my whole monitor
you said it works before opening fortnite
yea
And then fortnite is native
and I said it doesn’t get fully stretched
so it's probably blocking it
Yea
That was for the new skin tournament
Which I lost because of native
I was 13 points away from winning
why is there an argument over stretched res in fortnite going on?
you need to place top 1,750 to get the skin and I place top 1,799
what a weird place to have this
Dood
hm
If your monitor sctretches but fortnight is native
don’t
They probs broke it again
Imma just go cry myself to sleep
I hope I die in my sleep
I don’t wanna wake up
I can’t handle this dumb monitor
once i get a job im getting myself a whole new PC
man
first build wasn't enough
i need mooore
buy a 3600 and a 3060 ti
yeah
and imma make sure to get a good monitor
2070 was discontinued last July
used
I wouldn't expect more
its
Gotta be used
I got a question regarding two specific upgrade options im facing. Just need to figure which should be first. So i have good ram, but its a tad on the slower side. HyperX Fury. 32gb 2666. My storage drive, is a 1tb 7200 hdd. I want to get faster ram and another ssd for my library. Would i benefit more IN THE SHORT RUN. Getting 3600mhz ram, or switching my hdd to an ssd.
you can get a 240gb ssd for cheap
a sata one with a little bit of dram
and MLC
not the worst
What CPU is the ram for?
I actually have on sitting to the side i would like another 1tb
and what motherboard?
I have a wd green 240
bad
it was my boot and i upgraded to an m.2
dramless
Ah. well good thing its on a shelf
What CPU and motherboard do you have that you want faster ram for?
lol
if youre booting from nvme
I have 10700kf and MSI z490. Just came from 9700f and B365
just cuz it's M2 doesnt mean it's better
then id get ram upgrade depending on cpu
Mmmm
it kinda does
thats why i said nvme lol
intel not much boost above 3200 but that would help actually.
what ssd is it exactly?
doesn't need
Sabrent.
oh ur good then
the black one with blue lines lol
yea ur fine on that front
depends, tbh i dont think most ppl need to game on ssd
hdd is fine for a lot of games
and is cheaper too lol
I would probably just get another one of those as it seems to be all good but i just didnt know which one i would notice more. And i do know it wont be much to notice to begin with
My prebuilt supposed to have a 1Tb
I got a 500
😩
Well, ram speed will help with FPS and doing other general things
So if you have an SSD, I'd do that next
^^^
cap
So wait running a game of of an hdd strictly affects load times not performance
If a game loads while playing, it doesn't have to worry about the HDD being slow. SSDs have actually improved performance many times
dang i did not know that.
Larger games such as GTA do that
yeah, depends on the game and how they load things
Everytime i drop by im never led astray and vintageracer has been a helping hand everytime Thanks Yall!!!!
But I will agree with Lili and say that HDDs are practical enough depending on the budget
I personally prefer higher storage to higher speed
When I first built my PC, I had a 2 tb hdd before I had an SSD of any sort out of preference
yes it does
It can in many instances
@wanton cliff i am in fact getting a 580
Lol, yeah it can
depends on how the game loads
This mostly applies to larger map games, though
Yeah
(such as GTA, Warzone, Fortnite)
Open world large map type stuff
Maybe Battlefield? I don't know how EA handles textures tbh
didnt Dice do battlefield? EA is just a publisher
True true
i'm monke
EA is listed as a developer beside of Dice, so maybe it's the Dice engine and EA does the work? I'm unsure (in BF1)
Should I update to windows 10 2009
or whatever it’s called
20h2
Something like that
🤔
furthermore, battlefield uses Frostbite AFAIK
20h2 is disliked by like everyone from what I hear
True again
I've not gotten to play enough Battlefield to really have everything down pat with that, I was making a guess due to map scales
Send me 144
i dont play battlefield lol
omegalul
im just knowledgable
send me a 144hz and you will have the luckiest 70 years of your life
chill
when I bought the monitor I didn’t have a choice
▶️ 9. No sweepstakes/giveaways, e-begging, trading or selling on this server.
Because I only have a Walmart giftcard that had 80 bucks
And the monitor I bought was the cheapest
bro
(80bucks)
It was a joke man
chill

Whats a somewhat budget gpu
Im getting a 580 is that decent
2060 will be a good budget GPU when the used market stabilizes
If y'all want minds blown, check out this video lol. Even the 980TI is still very viable for 1080p today
yeah
We're revisiting the NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti in 2021, specifically the EVGA Hybrid 980 Ti. The 980 Ti is a former flagship, now benchmarked vs. 1080 Ti, 970, 5700 XT, 3080, 6800 XT, & lots more.

GPU TE...
I watched last night, was surprised
How much does a 2060 cost normally
Idk what rtx is
Nope
RTX is an umbrella achitecture, more or less
72 FPS in Horizon Zero Dawn
See i dont know what any of that means
Ray tracing isnt even worth it
the only nvidia gpus that have hardware accelerated ray tracing are RTX GPUs
arguable. Future of graphics imo.
I mean true, but as of now, it's not worth the performance loss
yeah
Have you seen 30 series?
its definitely still in it's infant stages
wait till you can hit normal FPS with it on. Then it will be worth.
Lovelace......
Next generation will be good, methinks
1080 its good, 1440p, probably needs a 3070, and 3080 for better FPS, and nothing does 4K yet
*without DLSS
nothing does 4K well
Definitely not for ray tracing
Even non ray tracing 4k performance is meh in aaa titles
But depends on how demanding you are for fps
Arguable. Ampere is pretty good.
you can get 120fps in a lot of games with a 3080.
Its pretty good with 30 series, many are able to play 4K 120fps+
yes
yep
2060 super is about equivalent to a 5700xt, which is much better than a 580
Ye
hmm yeah nearly 5600xt a little less
i would say thats debatable, 3070 can get 60fps in RDR2 4K High settings
What are the 1% lows
34
isn't that the normal 2060 that is equivalent of 5600xt?
hmmmm yeah not great then
k
Personal preference this is
5600xt is slightly faster than a 2060
should i just find and buy a 1080 ti
nah
if you can get one for a good price sure
3060Ti is much more worth
what is a good price
So 2060, 2070 5600xt, and 5700xt would all be upgrades?
< $350
3060 non Ti then
wasn’t it 700 msrp
1080ti should outperform a 3060 non ti
since when?
1080ti is like 2060 super or something
i found a 1080ti fe for 500
Nah more like 2070 suiper
yeah thats what I thought
i think its 2070 ish
hour 39
depends on game but yeah i guess close to 2070s
and resolution
but i don’t wanna pay for ray tracing when 20 series couldn’t even run it
i am the average 1080 enjoyer
my 2080 does rtx fine
20 series was the first generation of ray tracing. Things were bound to go wrong.
what game
Turing improved with ray tracing as dlss matured
when i get 3090 ill probs throw 2080 into render pc or something
sell to me
control was nice
when lol
so was cyberpunk
durandal?
mayb
go to lttstore.net please.
.net ???
found a strix 1080ti for 595
hmm
.net
bad
i want to put it in lexi but idk if the psu will let me
LMAO
