In general, a 1 tb will you you far for boot and some games. HDD if you need additional storage for media files etc. If you plan to install lots of games, 2tb will suit you better in the long run. I'm running out of space on my 1tb drive due to large games

I'd argue it depends on your needs. For long term storage it is the way to go, since the cost of SSD will always be more. A 4TB nvme will run you a few hundred dollars. A 4 TB HDD equivalent will much less than that.

I don't know about static buildup on the actual PC, but if you want to discharge the static build up on you, just touch a bare metal part of the case. It will discharge any static charge you built up. And yes the power supply should be plugged in so to ground any buildup.

No issues with MSI on my end. Currently running the 3080 gaming x trio...zero issues. And i had success with their MBs. But with Zotac, they can get kind of hot and have obnoxious fan curves from stock. But that can be fixed with a custom fan curve.
