Probably not, it's more a principle thing. You can have non rgb at 57, trident rgb at 87, or corsair rgb at 100 something

@maiden scroll so here’s my story:
I ordered the motherboard, CPU, and cooler in a combo. Except the CPU fan was always really loud. And when I mean really loud I mean get engine loud. It was insane. I tried using 4 different coolers but they all had the same problem. Then, when I tried a stock intel cooler that I had lying around, it’s fab wasn’t loud at all. The only problem was the heatsink on the fan was too small, so it didn’t cool the CPU well.
So long story short, I got a bigger heat sink and zip tied the intel fan to it. It works fine and keeps the CPU moderately cool.

You can also just pick based on asthetics if you don't need the best thermals. Just check GamersNexus and other reviews and make sure you aren't buying trash :)

Ryzen stock cooler (the one that comes with 3800X) is good enough unless you’re doing overclocking. If it doesn’t cut it, then you can always get a pretty cheap after-market air cooler. Water cooling isn’t worth unless you really want the looks or are doing heavy overclocking

CXM is known to have coil whine issues. I would have gotten a mp34 + either a cheap qlc ssd (like the p1 or whatever one with dram that is the cheapest) or hdd as secondary storage. Neither of those drives are particularly good.

@dusk light for your setup you showed in #build-pics, don’t spend 100 bucks on windows. I’d also say to stick with the stock cooler that comes with the 3600x because it’s pretty good unless you’re planning on doing heavy overclocking

Newer stock should have no issues. Unless you have a really old stocked version of it then you would need to update the bios
