You can get kinda close but ram prices are the main problem, you'll be able to shave some off with bundles but meh, the market is just terrible rn
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ffFxsK
Part List - Intel Core i5-14600KF, GeForce RTX 5060, Montech X5 ATX Mid Tower
yeahh thats what im noticing
thats why ive mostly been shopping prebuilt atm
If it's mainly for gaming I wouldn't really be looking at an i7. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/pkgpH3
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4870456
And if you were looking at prebuilts I'd probably be trying to find a better gpu instead of a a better cpu. That does depend on what kind of games you like though, as well as resolution of the monitor and whether you're cool with good fps in competitive games or want as high as you can reasonably get.
its like half gaming half like development stuff
so i might actually do some machine learning stuff in the future
Unfortunately AI kinda locks you into Nvidia for now, otherwise 9060xt may be a nice option
yeah
so yeah thats why i was thinking to get an i7 instead of maybe something like an i5 or an amd cpu
for games im not really that fancy maybe the most intensive game i can think of is like final fantasy 7 remake
or like guilty gear
LOL
Could you tell us what exactly you're expecting from the "i7" label?
Nowadays even if you're multitasking, the extra E cores on something like the 14600kf will be more than enough
Unless you're doing something that specifically requires more than 6 P cores
like i might do a little bit of video editing/3d rendering/might also run some virtual machines
i heard the i7 is a bit better for stuff like that compared ot the i5
Somewhat. If you want to render anything using the cpu instead of the gpu then it's a noticeable gap. If you're going to do video work and getting an intel cpu it would be a good idea to pay a bit more for a non-f model.
F means they disabled the igpu and you don't get access to quicksync.
Nowadays it generally doesn't make sense to make that upgrade unless you're doing major projects very often, spending 5 minutes instead of spending 4 minutes 45 seconds to render a small video project periodically isn't worth the price difference imo
And I'd say E cores are perfect if your goal is to just have a bunch of light vms running at the same time
i see
ohh okay
so from that perspective its not really worth trying to go for the i7 in that case?
for perspective im currently on a i7-8700
It sounds like video editing or rendering isn't a major part of what you're planning on using the PC for, in that case, I'd say making the upgrade from 14600 to 14700 is not worthwhile
yeah 14600kf is plenty
I wouldn't generalize it too much to i5 to i7, but it applies to those specific parts
depends on the generation, a newer i5 outperforms an older i7, if theyre the same gen then the i7 will be better but today's gens of cpus are very good
so going i7 and i9 isnt needed much
Having lots of cores is important if you're regularly doing something that's heavily multithreaded like compressions, rendering, encoding and want it to go faster.
With prebuilts it can be more about what you can find a good deal on when you're looking rather than trying to find exactly what would make the most sense if doing diy.
Prebuilts aren't likely to have the high end unlocked i5-k models. You'll see mostly locked cpus like 14400/f, 14700/f, 225/f or 265/f.
unless you really doing something insanely taxing
ohh okay that makes sense
then in my case do you guys think its worth looking at prebuilts and stuff
for this reason no #building-and-recc-chat message
but it depends
or should i just pick the parts here or similar
At the cheaper end of the market they can be better priced currently. $1500-2000 is kind of in the middle ground where it'll be about the same cost but you can pick ssd, motherboard, power supply that you know aren't out of the bargain bin when you do diy.
It's still worth looking for prebuilt deals but I'd say you have more flexibility and a higher chance of being able to build something better using bundles
Don't completely ignore deals, but also don't rely on prebuilts as the only option
oh okay i see
seeing i might need to spend like 500 on ram makes me sad though haha
the prebuilts mask that a bit for me π
The end goal is to look for bundle deals like the one covante sent earlier
The list I sent is just a baseline with singular part choices
ahh okay
thanks so much!
i think the only thing id realliy change in the list you sent is the cases and stuff
i dont need my pc to look fancy or anything haha
I don't like them either. I was picking something cheap and with similar aethetic to the prebuilts you mentioned. For budget cases that come with fans, the argb ones are usually cheaper than plain or the plain ones you'd have to buy a set of aftermarket fans to install.
My criteria for cases is just price, airflow, and does it come with fans lol
Aesthetics is usually low priority
ohhh i see
im just trying to look through the bundles on random websites rn to see if theres anything nice
but if it gets super complicated/pricey maybe i might just get a prebuilt instead π«
With argb (addressable) they're controllable and will be easy to disable and just turn them back into plain fans. Some cases uses frbg (fixed) and they don't always have an off switch for the lights.
I am confused to why there is a random case fan and then an RGB one, why not duplicate?
economy's rough man
Hey I'm building a pc and I have a question
The aio fans cost like 80$ for 3 lol
Cost double than normal corsair fans
So I have a MSI mpg core liquid p13 360mm aio and I'm looking to replace the stock fans I plan to replace them with Arctic p12 pro or the non pro p12s which would be better for top mounted aio with fans set to exhaust through the radiator
My case is the hyte y60
Hi, I am currently looking to buy a new pc in order to play some games (mainly valorant, but also want to be able to run other titles well, like rocket league, fortnite, and apex, etc. ). I found this stormcraft prebuild online (https://www.newegg.com/stormcraft-sirius-gaming-desktop-pc-geforce-rtx-5060-intel-core-i5-14400f-16gb-ddr4-1tb-ssd-si1440fbb-560n2/p/N82E16883420040?Item=N82E16883420040) and thought it was a pretty good build where I'd get very good fps for valorant. I tried seeing about building one but it looks like it would end up being more expensive and much more of a hassle, so I am thinking of going with the prebuilt. I mainly just wanted to know if this is a good option for the price, or if there are any issues or anything I should look out for. This would be my first actual pc so I am looking for any advice or suggestions if anyone could help me out. Thanks!
<@&525119001324683264>
Currently figuring out if Iβm in danger bro sorry
Currently at around $1000 prebuilts are often as good or better value against equivalent specs diy with how crazy ram and ssd prices have gotten as well as gpus going up. That one would be a pretty good price for the specs. Plenty capable of getting good fps in esports games like those you mentioned.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FT3BjG If you wanted to build your own around $1000 I'd probably do something like this which gives you about a significantly better cpu for gaming performance and ddr5 ram for about an extra $100. Esports games are mostly cpu bound unless you crank the settings up on something like fortnite.

https://www.newegg.com/tools/combo-builder/6675 Ssd and power supply
Pros of building your own is you can choose whatever parts you like; individual parts have a longer warranty, typically 3-5 years, than a standard prebuilt, typically 1 or 2 years; and you familiarize yourself with how a pc goes together which can make upgrading later more accessible and if you ever need to do any troubleshooting or repairs/replacement being familiar will make that easier too before you have to resort to paying a repair shop; and setting up your own software familiarizes you with that as well so you know how to install windows, update drivers and some other basic stuff.
Pros of a prebuilt are you don't have to spend time doing any of that if you don't want to, the warranty will cover the entire system so you don't have to do any unguided troubleshooting yourself, if something fails you can just send it back for them to fix (you may be responsible for shipping cost).
Biggest con of a prebuilt is they pick the cheapest stuff they believe will outlast the warranty period for items like cooler, ssd, motherboard and power supply.

Anything I could improve?
Appreciate it a lot, thanks for all the advice!
is there something about the same specs and price range of this one? or anyone came across one yet? https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16883360933C
$1,249.99
$1,549.99
there is this https://www.newegg.com/abs-cyclone-aqua-gaming-desktop-geforce-rtx-5060-intel-core-i7-14700f-32gb-2x16gb-ddr5-1tb-nvme-ssd-black/p/N82E16883360950 but not a ti for $1,300.00
@lime forge
hes the one that suggested this channel LOL
soooo.... what shall we chat about in build chats?
@coarse coral I see that now, I just assumed, so yeah that's a phat rip on me
we had to keep #build-pics text free so we talk about whatever people want to talk about their builds @lavish tendon
yeah, i saw that earlier, should i just swoop my text from over in that channel and put it here?
sure
some other mod is going to start deleting text there periodically if it isn't specs
can i just take a moment to appreciate that wire management from TheCheapest earlier yesterday?
@coarse coral If you don't mind, I'd like to suggest renaming "build-pics" to "build-pic-submissions" so that people are encouraged to remember that it is looked at for the Newegg stream and such -- to keep conversation in this stream.
Yeet π
PCMR
yeahhh, i found it after scrolling up until 05/05/2019
i see GSkill RAM, Corsair H60i AIO, ROG GPU, and thats about it.... Am i right?
I like the choice of red π
w8, you have a TEN TB HDD???
This is my warranty replacement kit. Just waiting on my PC to get here
my god, what have you done?
dats some fast ass ram
4600.... damn
that
damn
that's the 2nd kit
how much? $300+???
was likr $480 for 8x2 when I bought them
ooof

i was kinda in a similar boat, more of a dumb choice thou....
i bought a 2x4gb kit of 3600mhz when i build my system, bare in mind that i only had a R5 1600x....
dumb choice on my part... could have got 32BG of 3200 CL14 for roughly the same price
the kit was like $200 for only 8gb....
3600? for Ryzen? daaaang...
I had my ram pushed to 5133MHz when a stick died
and when i decide to finally get 16gb, it was still like $120 to get anoth 2x4gb
i just bought a COrsair kit of 2x8gb 3200 for only $80, thats going in soon
I don't want to risk it, because I tried to increase a ram 2666 to 3200 and the result is probably you know XD
yeahhh.... bad choice my friend
boot loop?
unless you have a B-Die
then it MIGHT be possible
but those only start at 3200 CL14
i went up by 66 to 100MHz at a time starting at 3800MHz because it didn't like it.
my best benchmarks were at 3800MHz CL16
now funny story, my case doesnt actually fit my H100i AIO in the top if i were to use Vengence RAM, only LPX works, so in my stupididty (and need of RGB) i decided to front mount my rad, but it would mean i would need to remove my drive cage.... but theres nowhere else to put my 2 hdds, so i decided to SPLIT MOUNT my rad and fans.... ill send pics so you can see.....
it was actually kinda funny figuring this out... it looks like CRAP but hey, if it works, it works
(if your wondering about case, this is a Corsair Spec-Alpha)
see all that room at the bottom of your case? get yourself a drill and go town. you can mount that drive bay to the bottom
ugh
i want to SELL this case when i upgrade in the future, i dont think people want a redneck-style moded case....
you're probably right
i settled on this as my final solution
man... I can't wait for my computer to get here... I've missed it
i have a static INTAKE on the bottom and top... the hot air from the rad started crashing my system because the gpu was too hot
damn.... with mine was that clean
my case has NO ROOM for cable management, what you see is like the best anyone could probably do
i like those custom cables, looks nice
I went kinda overkill on the case roomwise
I'm going to do a full custom loop while I'm here in Korea
more room is better, more air so the system can 'breath'
almost so much that you nearly ran out of AIO loop lol
if you want your system featured on the tuesday june 26th stream post it in the #build-pics channel
already did ^_^
I'm personally more proud of the custom build i made a friend, she needed a small case that could fit her dorm in college
What monitor?
the Aorus AD27QD
submits this
i mean.... that PSU is looking nice
I have spent stupid money on this rig
oh.... that Monitor is basically the same as mine, though a different brand
144hz 1440p is SOO nice when gaming
you got the Predator?
nah, i got a MSI Optix MAG27CQ
literally, my ENTIRE setup is NOTHING but MSI and Corsair
I wanted it, but it isn't on the list of Gsync compatible
(and a Acer 2nd monitor)
then Gigabyte came out with this one and I had to grit my teeth and save for it
mine is "compatible" but.... theres some issues
Aorus "claims" they hand pick panels that have been verified by Nvidia. we'll see
can't be any worse than the Dell I had to return a few months back.
I will eventually get a 2nd Aorus monitor, but that'll be a few months (or a year) from now
id say get a 1080p 240hz since that would give you options
validated is what I mean, not verified
yeah
i knew what you meant, lol
like my next monitor will probably be that 240hz since i play A LOT of competative games and while 144hz is more than enough, i say the faster the better
MSI of course
I'll probably get a 240Hz, as long as they match
they should
BAH! Aorus' 240Hz is a 25"
it do be like that sometimes....
ill probably just get a different brand monitor, then just slap a 'MSI' sticker on the logo
lol
personally though, the FIRST think i need to upgrade is a chair.... its SOOO bad
i dont really know of this qualifies as a 'build pic' but oh well, heres my "Gaming Chair" feel free to laugh at it if you want, im getting a new one soon anyway
i thinks that a 110-120 degree angle.... i can't really tell
leaned back too hard?
nah, i'd just say the $80 amazon chair doesn't like a 6'2" 230 lb person on it
for 3 years aswell..... im still shocked it hasn't just snapped in half at this point
oh also, should i put my build descriptions AND pictures in this chat, or just the descriptions?
if you want
@lavish tendon I have that same chair, with that exact problem lol.
I tried, but you won it.

dO GaMinG ChaIrS ImpROVe YoUR FpS?

I built this a few years ago
A DVD drive, you don't see that very often these days π
My last build had two drives, and I know you can still get cases with them, but I can't even think of what I'd use it for anymore.
I don't even have one on my TV either, all digital my dude.
I like disc drives more convenient to have them rather than not having
I find digital codes online when I buy movies, and when I run it through Movies Anywhere it goes to my Google Play, iTunes, Vudu, Amazon, XBOX, etc.
Yeah I'm not hating on the disc drive at all, it's just crazy to even think about with PCs now.
a lot of current style-based cases just dont even have the spaces for it
movies anywhere is great
this case doesnt have a space for a disc drive
you either get style or functionality :(
I believe it's time for a new updated case. This is from mountainmods.
we've had that blu ray disc drive since like 2009
Thats a big case
I built my wife a computer out of my old parts and got a nice case from deepcool for 47$
Blu ray solution was 40$
Good for backing up invaluable stuff. A disc wont fail randomly over 20 years
can i show you guys my pc and you tell me what you think its my first build
sure
go for it
same
it took me 2 years to save
there my pc
Its case is all fans π
fan,fan fo life
Hows the airflow
okey doke, so a 1050Ti then?

Whoot
?
Thanks man!
whats the spec? @fast dagger
i9 9900k, asus Strix 2080ti, Maximus cig formula mobo, 32gb 3600mhz ram
loerhsujglhnbcfvb
All fully custom painted and obviously custom hairline tubes
I love how crazy I went with the tubes but how clean it remained I wish I could keep it
Lol gotta get all the air out of the system and test for leaks. Iβm going to do a photo shoot this weekend
yeah definitely
lol every time i see it i think the coolant is milk
but wow
thats amazing
its so perfect
woah there
@fast dagger just be careful with the adult jokes
i love the build pics and id hate for u to get banned
They are that strict here? Had no idea new in here sorry admin lol
my only dislike with it, is it gets a bit hot.
Wifi card is lovely. So are the LL120 fans lol
Havenβt had liquid cooling in a bit either
Kinda forgot the weird sound it makes within the first ten minutes of running
could use a little cable management on the gpu but other than that nice build
god i just noticed it wtf
lmao you got some muto crap from godzilla going on here lmao
Why is general locked
hes testing something i guesss
Fixed
Hello π im looking for some advice
Iβm new to comp and looking to get into a nice comp that being said I found this one for a good price I think just looking for a little input
I ok thank you sorry for wrong spot
'sok π
lucky!!!
Carbide 04 series is dank af
The dream lol
I think I need your chair
Thanks guys! Iβll send another picture when Iβve got my desk painted and my new room set up.
Iβm going to be building my first PC in a week so excited! Getting inspiration from here. Iβm going to have RGB lighting but the components come from different brands. Has anyone been able to tinker with their lighting to make it look synchronized with different branding/light software before?
depends are you going rgb or ARGB route
and certain ecosystems don't play nicely with others D:
Awe that sucks to hear. As for the specifics idk the fans come with the cooler master case and the motherboard is MSI
Both just say βrgbβ so I am not sure if they are just RGB or ARGB
Guess Iβll find out?
coolermaster case/fans will work with most basic eco systems
msi's ecosystem is mystic light and as far as i know coolermaster should support it
figure out if its rgb or argb because rgb and argb have different pin connections
Awesome ty so much!
I will keep that in mind! Iβm nervous to be starting out my first build with also RGB but it should be a fun learning experience!
I appreciate your advice so much!
if you have any more questions feel free to ask these nerds.
Nice im starting my own first build also
So that picture I sent earlier today is my new roomβs setup in progress (moving) and this is what Iβve got in my room at the house Iβm in now.
swanky
corsair fans?
I almost got Corsair, but theyβre called Asiahorse
So far they seem really good!
oh yeah
i'll be π― with you
cheap chinese fans are WAY better than they used to be
Thatβs good to hear!
i heard of asiahorse
You scared me for a sec lol, I was like oh no I didnβt look into them enough did I
was thinking about them but got cheap 5 pack rgb fans lol
Haha I got 3 for $36 USD
I like that my fans donβt just look like a LED bar around, but the fan itself reflects the lights, so it looks like the whole thing is LED
Lol
im saving up to upgrade to corsair rgb fans
Nice
those things are nice but e x p e n s i v e
I7-8700
Asus z370e- gaming
2x8gb trident gskill 3600 rgb
Evga 1070 ftw2
3 x Corsair LL120
Aio CORSAIR H150i platinum
Evga 850GQ 80+gold psu
970 evo 500gb
860 evo 1x500 gb, 1x 1tb
Phanteks p400s
like 130 for 3 of em
yeah
Iβm debating building a second computer out of previous parts, or really Iβm debating keeping components as I upgrade, and using whatβs left to build another.
True! I do need as much practice as I can get lol
i've built so many PCs for people
which is why im saving up for em
its like 90-100 for 3 of em
im getting 4 corsair fans
Nice Matt!
3 140s and 1 120s
I wanted 140βs up top , but I canβt squeeze them in
i want 140s all around
but it only supports 3 and one 120
so im fine with taht
that
What yβall think?
Nice!
needs more RGB!!!!1

it's a v clean setup. no rgb needed. i think adding a small, fake plant and cleaning up the desk a bit would really tie things together. phone stand if you care. tie the loose cables behind the monitor stand and you got yourself a v clean setup.
why fake plant when you could get a small cactus or succulent, they look better and barely need any water lol
they live for quite a while too
oh course there's a subreddit for succulents
why are those so pretty
exactly, gonna get 1-3 when I revamp my setup to give it a little life
Now I have to look up where to buy succulents close to me
gonna get a bonsai
That's too much effort for me
looking to build a pc , had a friend throw this together real quick as kind of a idea guide
any pointers/ideas, i am new to pc building
most of it is good, but those fractal design cases aren't the best
actually i planned on getting a different case, i wasnt a fan of the one he picked on that list
are you deadset on intel?
no i suppose not, everyone ive talked to has said to go intel
i mean its up to you, but amd is moving up there and it's definitely more bang for your buck
i have heard a few good things about the newer amd cpu's
plus 3rd gen ryzen drops next month with some pretty serious hardware
i would wait a bit to build honestly, wait 1-3 months, there's a lot of new stuff flooding the market, i would wait for the reviews on the new stuff then make your decisions
its gonna be a slow build, 1 piece at a time haha
i would keep watching the pricing on graphics cards, nvidia is coming out with their 2060,2070,and 2080 SUPER cards, so they might make other cards cheaper
only thing is im not wanting to go more then $2 k
@little osprey where did you purchase your 8pin gpu cable?
150ish I thing
Would it be worth it just for the the case and the fact itβs possibly able to be upgraded
@prisma trail
that's most likely an old like X58 platform
but that's a really nice case inside actually
I know
Iβve seen randomgamingHDβs video on one of these and he actually got some good gameplays out of slightly older games
hmm
I know
Plus if itβs graphics card is SLI I could drop a higher end GPU in there and still be good
Like a 1060
Not a huge fan of that case tbh
yeah it's an acquired taste
I dont like cases that have the curves like that. I like the sharp and flat edges. Probably cause I like having a computer flush against the wall
Yeah
because he could easily turn around and sell it for a couple hundred more
How much is this?
Bruh
it's a collectors item
^
You get half the PC for free
Plus is a massive case therefore a lot more easily modified
you could actually mod it to fit some watercooling gear
I might get this just for handling streaming
Isnβt it already water cooled ?
that's an AIO
What sucks is itβs DDR3, if I could somehow get an adapter for it to take DDR4 Iβd be good
@restive walrus it's a thermaltake kit. I didn't use the 8 pin power because my board has 2x8 pin and the kit only comes with 1.
Thereβs also an aurora R4 for sale in Florida but Iβm not going to get it because of shipping
yeah if i had the money for it i'd 100% pick it up for the case alone tbh
and honestly, those parts would be good for something like a plex server
or a minecraft server
Minecraft
I've always wanted to host a server for me and a bunch of friends but one major problem
you need friends
Bruh
Eggbot stop being a nerd
@prisma trail can you tell me what modern MOBO would fit in that kind of case without an adapter bracket
any standard ATX motherboard
Nice ok
Woah
It deleted my message
After checking out some of the local PC deals near me I came across this fantastic looking old Alienware Area 51 PC. With the description brief and my knowle...
@prisma trail
Hereβs a video of an older model of the same computer
The one in the video is older than the one I found because the one I found as far as I know doesnβt have a floppy disc drive
i feel that
kinda looks like GumTree?
@prisma trail I may be getting $60 tomorrow towards the Alienware
Its not really worth it. Its 11 years old and you dont know what kind of wear was put on it in that time
Iβm not going to use the original components, Iβm most likely going to take everything out of the case and sell it off piece by piece
Except for the power supply depending on the wattage and what socket it uses
it miiiigggghhhhtttttt only have a 20-pin ATX power connector
you'll have to check to be sure, but i'm about 80% sure
@prisma trail
what's up my guy
yeah, i saw that in the product description you posted earlier
Core 2 Quad Q9550 i believe
Yeah
He said I could upgrade to a cheal Xeon and get a 45% power boost
Idk if thatβs true or not tho

i'm sure it would support a xeon yeah
i'll find the best one for the money for you in a bit
Alright
@little osprey very nice color theme
Thanks my dude
can someone find me a good prebuilt with 16gb ram and a good cpu?
budget?

@coarse coral 800
But yeah so i have a lot that i can game on
nice setup
Thanks. Still not dont yet either
Does this list look good for high frame rate gaming on ultra high settings on almost any game? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/KeoGhost/saved/9nCDxr
In real life gaming instances an m.2 wont be any different
i just got that cheap m.2 for for fast startu
You sure it'll work though? Look at the bottom of the list what the websitehas to say about it.
youre good
So do you think i should buy all those parts?
@hexed isle @prisma trail
dont forget some thermal compound
also youd only be populating 2/4 ram slots
could be good for upgrading later down the line
I plan on it
I'd be careful with that case, the front airflow is restrictive, they updated it with a mesh version for better thermals
I just wanna get a semi beast computer built before summer ends
THeo this is the mesh version
Ah ok, didn't say so on my screen
You sure?
It says mesh optional and I can't tell on phone if it's the plastic or the mesh on front
Im on my computer and it looks like mesh to me
Kk
I hope its mesh xD

Nice
so basically use transparent when you post in #build-pics and mesh when ur not lol
@coarse coral you think this case will have bad airflow?
pretty sure it draws air in from the bottom
Hello everyone this is my first time to chat about PC build
I have a thermaltake view 91 for 5 month and I am working on design of my won case. I just found 2 problem is that radiator is blocked by 2 reservoir and front cover are too small. So I design to change the front cover to make more room for radiator and fan together in front of the case is better.
Guys do ya think this case will look gud with this?
Will the motherboard in this build be good for overclocking?https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FxdVMZ
Okay so I had to have missed this somewhere. Why do people put figures in their builds now? Just looks and appeal?
yeah.
there's no other purpose
it doesnt negate or help with air or anything, just to help the build look a bit better and it's the owner's own personal touch.
Hm.
I mean I've seen some that looked... Well... For lack of a better word, kinda silly. I didn't think it helped with performance in any regards.
Our company is considering ordering custom decals of our logo to affix to cases that we sell. Not permanent; removable ones.
our opinions dont matter in terms of those things in a build
like i said, just the owner's own touch you know
Right that's why I've kept my opinion on it mostly to myself. But curiosity and cats, you know.
How i can make this case better?
There's a lot of blank space in the front, I feel. If you're looking to modify its appeal.
A lot of people like that, but also like the open face, visible fans look.
You could always put a design on it or something
I know but i didnt found any case modder in las vegas
That's unfortunate. You may find some online though.
Otherwise the case has a very clean look to it, and that's nice too.
Custom cables make the internals look more tight and overall more pleasing.
How many sockets will each case need?(idk bc i always use laptop)
What do you mean?
Uhh i mean the wires
Srr my english is bad i just move to usa like a month
Ohh the plug
Yea i mean how many plug do i need for the case or the whole setup?
yuo just need what the power supply comes with
U mean this things?
srr but i've never seen that before xD
it is the power supply for the computer
yes and it will come with the cord you need
Yay
I thought i need to choose another setup to get the power supply too xD
Bc i only hav 1200$rn
no it is a prebuilt so it has everything you need
Kk so how many plugs i need?
just one and it will come with it
Yay
@craggy bluff i used to have the same keyboard and mouse and mousepad as u
actually i still use the same mousepad
@lime forge nice! yeah it was a combo deal thing for like $40. this is my first PC build, so i just needed somthing to get started. honestly... it doesn't seem that bad. I dont have anything to compare it to. but seems at least decent.
yeah they were great when i used them
the wire on the mouse got annoying after a bit so i switched to a g900 because it was a black friday deal for $80 at best buy tho
just an fyi theyre great products but my keyboard started breaking like a year or two after the purchase
the s wouldnt work all the time
which isnt good for gaming
that just mean you can't retreat
mechanical red backlit keyboard, mouse, and hefty mousepad
wowww youre just a sore loser lol
:D
Thats why i use SteelSeries tbh
@kindred talon correct me if im wrong but is that case designed after a destiny ghost
when my red dragon stuff stopped working i switched to a razer ornata chroma because i loved the way they do the backlighting and i switched to a g900 because its super fast wireless
the rgb software doesnt work with my mouse tho
i gotta reinstall ghub every time or else it just wont change colors
doesnt bother me much since my hand covers the rgb part anyways
It does look like that
yeah, ive only been using them since march. so far so good. I have kinda had my eye on the hyper x alloy FPS keyboard. but thinking ill just wait till this one starts failing.
ive only ever played destiny 2
because it was free for a bit
and i figured why not
but then i got lost in the game and i had no clue what was happening
i should probably uninstall it
80gb
nice infinity mirror @winter hull
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vd6tP3 need opinions
ROG RTX 2080 is 770usd but i saw a EVGA GTX 1080 for almost the same. idk which one to get
2080 lel
the rtx 2080 is comparabel to the 1080 ti
i was going to make a joke about you saying its your first time then remembered I am not on my furry server
yeah both good i would perfer the 2080 tho
What?
Oh my joke
Yeah no, I don;t want to be banned within 10 minutes of me being on the server
Now I will dm it to you
Lmao shoot it
I gave it to you
Any opinions or suggestions to make it better for gaming, but keep around the same price range?
The 212 evo kind of sucks @fallow knoll
What would you recommend to replace it?
the hyper 212 does not suck
Sponsor: Snag an OEM Windows 10 Pro key and use offer code "SStudio" for 18% off: http://bit.ly/2IXdKda Snag one of these great coolers from Amazon: be quiet...
it's perfectly suited to its price range
So then would that pc be a decent gaming pc?
Would I be able to run generally most games that are coming out?
I haven't really thought about it, and don't really know how to overclock. Would there be a better option to do if I am not overclocking? I am kinda new to all this building a pc thing
But I know how to hook it all up, and make it work.
I mean, I don't really have a "max" budget, but I would prefer to stay below 2 grand.
Just gaming, and hanging with friends. I don't stream, and I don't record.
for sure, just a moment
better CPU, SSD, bigger HDD, and better GPU
and faster RAM
Ah nice! It will be a good month or two before I am able to purchase it, but when I do, I will for sure post a picture in #build-pics
:D
Thanks mate!
for sure man
@fallow knoll sorry, that one had the wrong PSU on it
and it's slightly cheaper
I'm hella due for an upgrade, just cant seem to find the money for it π
Lol normally I would never be able to afford anything new of the sort, just an opportunity came to me. Super happy too, because my PC is my life basically.
I agree my guy
i'm happy you can upgrade. that kind of rig can run any game out there no problem
So I've heard that NVIDIA Quadro's arent very practical for gaming, anyone know any knowledge behind that?
they're not built for it
they're compute cards
I focused on GeForce vs Quadro for brevity, but pretty much everything in this video applies to Radeon versus FirePro graphics cards as well! Get a FREE 7 da...
So even the K6000 isnt really made for it
watch that video, it explains the whole thing well
Oh ok cool thanks
Oh I see, so Quadro's are for like 3D Modeling and manufacturing stuff.
Any decent headsets and microphones that I should add to my list? Preferably separate.
since you do have a bit of wiggle room
this is also about $50, but you can find them on sale fairly often https://www.newegg.com/blue-microphones-snowballiceblack-usb-connector/p/N82E16836431030?Description=desktop microphone&cm_re=desktop_microphone-_-36-431-030-_-Product
Lol i used to have a Blue Snowball, but my dog knocked it off my desk, and without me knowing, I was wearing boots, and stepped on it, and its legs all broke, and the snowball itself split in half. Was a sad day lol
But you have been a huge help. Thanks man!
you bet
Anybody have any website for cable mgt products. Such as combs and clamsp
clamps*
silverstone is a good company
uphere has some good cablecombs
very cheap for a full set for your setup
@little osprey
Bottle necking is where your parts restrict each other
It's like putting a race car on a street with a 20mph speed limit
My tower has an i5 8400, gtx 1060, 16gb of 3000mhz ddr4 and a z370 a pro mother board
My laptop has a i5 8250 u and I use a converter ribbon like the docking station to put a 1050ti on it
yes
Not the best
Btw when you take out your wireless card get something like this
like what?
nice thx a lot
Just get the wifi motherboard
Laptops usually use wireless cards
He's taking it out to put a gpu in
Nice
He's doing mini pci to fill adapter
By filling his wireless card slot
I do that with my laptop
It allows you to put a gpu without a thunderbolt bolt port
Thats cool. I'm about to build my first tower too.
No problem, I love to help! If you have any more questions feel free to ask
@prisma trail with that build you sent yesterday to me, would it startup fast as well?
Awesome.

Keeping this conversation off #build-pics
The sweepstakes is now complete! Thanks to all who entered. This is the Neon Apocalypse PC, built by Newegg in partnership with Corsair, EK Water Blocks, ASU...
Damn so lucky
^
that is a realy nice rig
Whats the gpu lol
some crap one
Digging the red lights. Although it kinda feels like a darkroom
It looks very clean tho
See i was supposed to get a GTX 1060 but had to drop to a 1050ti
it was bad
my CPU is too powerful for the GPU
I could
but i plan to rebuild in the next 3 months
Might ditch the red theme
these are the specs of the build
Yeah the gpu needs to go.
mhm
I won a bidding for a 1080 Nvidia for 400usd
i told my dad he could have my1050ti and i upgrade to a 1080 xD
What he said lmao
He said "we can downgrade your CPU"
For sure
if i don't get to build a 3rd gen ryzen pc this is the build im saving up for:
https://secure.newegg.com/Wishlist/SharedWishlistDetail?ID=II1yE6zAgZo%3D
Its kills my Current PC in every aspect
It does. How many inch is the monitor?
idk
somewhere in the neighborhood of 2-3k
it seems to have removed my psu...
gotta go add one to it
im building a pc and I was wondering if there was any bottlenecking with this build
Intel - Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
Corsair - H100i PRO 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Gigabyte - Z390 AORUS ULTRA ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3000
Samsung - 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB AORUS XTREME WATERFORCE Video Card
NZXT - G10 Video Card Cooler
Corsair - Crystal Series 680X RGB ATX Mid Tower
EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Seagate - Expansion 4 TB External Hard Drive
ok
no thats just flexing on us peasants with laptops
but, water cooling will not operate as good as a air cooler, for long standing loads
your gpu is overpriced,
you have way to much ram, for a gaming system. but if you going all decks loaded, it is technically fine.
thing is, you actually wasting a bunch of money... because I made on considerably better then yours for nearly the same price. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sHKCGG
and I get it, you like rgb and good looks, but for nearly 50% less the performance...
also, I would recommend waiting to buy a system until we see the performance of AMD's new line up of cpu's and gpu's
and the cpu and gpu and not bottleneck. however the cpu will not handle the ddr4-3000 ram, as well as a amd chip.
I don't see that as flexing at all.
same here
though the 32gb of ram isnt necessarily TOO much for a gaming build, it's def more than enough if you wanna do more things at once, but i wonder how much the build costs @little osprey
im busy watching youtube to search it up rn
and to get on someone about pricing is eh. if those are the parts they want.. then good for them π
but why is your 2060 only $10 less than what a 2080 is...
no way
im getting the build for $1800
your paying for your 2060 then some 2080's...
though he could if he really wanted to sacrifice some things for the ti of 2080
@craggy bluff what are you talking about
the guy's paying for a 2080
read his gpu
in this list he sent for his build. its a 2060.... for 779
i think we are talking about two different people...
@thorny inlet en
is who im talking about.
oh yeah
totally different
but since you talked right after THAT conversation and right after a pc list, it makes it like you were talking about that guy's listr
yeah, his link is for a 2060 for $779
yeah, i see that now
you're right
water is better, the only difference is water has a tiny chance of leaking
I was also aiming for a quieter pc hence the amount of water cooling in my build
no matter what build, there's always a chance, whereas air there's nothing to leak
thats reasonable
water cooling is fine :p
lol i based a lot of the parts on ratings π
oh lol
though you can research to see what you're paying for is the best bang for your buCK
that waterforce aorus card is a beast.
i was considering getting the 11gb one but i feel like that would make me have to get a better cpu so keep up with that
but there ain't nothing wrong with that build list ryy.
you're fine ryy
extra cool lol
i couldnt even find a listing on it so im prob not even gonna get it
thats not how it works.
that is just a bracket
you think about performance first, then looks
say you take the stock cooler off a 1080, that bracket goes on the gpu.
then you take an AIO. say the corsairs H55, or any with the round pump style base.
ohh
attach it to the bracket.
then bam!, liquid cooed gpu
750
oh ok
sec I actually have a setup with that kraken.
isnt there a rumor that intel is gonna chip 15% off because of that
https://www.techradar.com/news/intel-could-slash-its-processor-prices-by-up-to-15-in-response-to-amd
it will yes ryy
even cheaper build lmao
water cooling, for short term test runs better,
but for long term it fails.
air cooling, is more reliable across the board.
AIO sure.
yeah
AIO water cooling is considered the best for cooling efficiency short of a custom loop, but is it really? Or can air cooling give it a run for its money? Tha...
thats, basically what i meant earlier.
short life span of 4 years.
yeah they clog up after a bit
if it's really well built and good quality
linus just uses plain ol water so it wont
but I've got one that is about 6 or so years old, runs fine.
depends on your liquid stuff though
AIO
bit harder to clean when draining, but cooling
just depends on the person and what they're gonna use it for and how long
yep.
they work well in certain loads.
so yeah, it really depends on the use case
I am into coding, and making 3d models, so I might run my system for about 12 hours straight,
which is different then somebody gaming for 2 hours.
ofc
lol
though we already established it
who games for 2 hours.
rookie numbers.
