i wonder if it’s used
I bought it off newegg
and it came with an empty baggie
nothing in it
should I return it?
Was it open? Usually they use those baggies for the tiny m.2 screw
May have been misplaced
Any way to tighten it I don’t see screws
what mobo?
Asrock b650m pro rs
It looked like some kind of screw mechanism on either side of that
might be screwed in from the bottom of the mobo
might be a bit bent but that's kinda not unexpected for the IO shield
definitely wouldn't affect anything
I’m able to push it
but it comes back up loose
wait even if i push them both down it moves
maybe it’s suppose to wobble 🤷
nvm reddit says it’s fine
should i leave the outer loose or tight
Make sure you update to the newest bios
Just waiting on the screws to come in today
I thought the motherboard would have them included
The case would
Did the case not have screws?
Did you buy a used or refurbished mobo?
should i buy a dual tpwer cooler or just push for a liquid one for aesthetics
It did but I accidentally gave them away when I sold my old mobo
I asked the guy what he needed from me since I’ve never sold a mb before
he told me the screws
and i thought the the new mobo would have it
new but this shi look used
@obsidian wigeon
already gone
Ty i was going through and deleting each message lmao
Hey individuals!
I'm about to make a huge perchance and wanted some feedback if I'm making the right choices (first time posting, long time it support, second build)
https://newegg.io/10c7478
6000 bucks oh my days
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Montech KING 65 PRO ATX Mid Tower
And that's still overspending
Rog tax is not worth it whatsoever
That's actually in my budget. (Well, the other one was as well)
I do animation, graphic design and game when I can. Plus I run a Plex server, hence the storage os on the SSD, plex on the hard drive
Thanks!
Np, if you can id try to get a 5070 ti cheaper, $940 is overpriced asf for one
I forgot Nvidia released their new line. (Kinda funny since I have stock with them 😅)
Its easy to forget, considering it's barely in stock and has very marginal gains over last gen lmao
Id ask in #peripherals-and-displays for mouse keyboard and headphone reccs
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 7600, Apevia PRISM MicroATX Mid Tower
are kingston ssds good
Nv2 isn't, not sure about the nv3
for the klevv ssd is says it comes with a heat sync
do i install both the motherboard heatsync and the ssd heatsync or only one of them
Only one
which one should i install tho
depends on which one's bigger honestly, but probably the motherboard heatsync bc it blends in
It won't really make a difference, if the ssd comes with it installed then leave that one on, otherwise the motherboard one
alr
@cyan ravine That weird full crash thing happened again, this time without a game even running. Only Discord, Steam, Xbox, and my web browser (Brave) were open, along with my AMD software for monitoring temps. When I rebooted, I got another reliability report, and more interestingly, a prompt to report the latest crash, and it auto-selected SmartAccess memory. Does this narrow it down to RAM issues?
Well I should finally get around to running those tests anyways just to be sure
TestMem5 didn't detect any memory errors
Oh Smart Acess Memory isn't RAM related
SAM is basically reBAR afaik, that is something that's in bios settings
check above 4g encoding and resizable bar settings in bios
if they're off, turn them on, if they're on, try with them off
where would I find this under uefi settings?
MSI's bios kinda sucks compared to ASRock
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/f8PVLc
Need help building a PC
First time building and need recommendation on the remaining
Goal is to play AAA games on a 4k monitor
Nvm found Rebar
I like MSI bios :P
It's under advanced settings
what's your budget and have you bought anything already
It's effectively the same thing on am5
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Air is fine for a 9800x3d?
With a good enough air cooler, it'll be fine stock
No real budget as long as its worth the money
The only difference is that expo sets an additional timing that helps AMD specifically. Occasionally it can cause issues, and you need to run the xmp profile instead.
i got a question if anyones here
is anyone able to help me figure out how to play sound thru my monitor
Does your monitor have speakers?
are those speakers enabled and selected?
im fairly certain it does
it has a sound option
has an audio jack in the back for somereason
im just wondering would hdmi do the job or does it need an audio cable or sum
then you can try switching your audio output device to the monitor
HDMI carries audio
yea when i switch it to the monitor it dont work
I believe DP does too
okay do you use displayport?
it only has a vga and an hdmi port
what monitor is it?
Copy
samsung C27F369FHN
a quick google search tells me it does NOT have speakers

whast the point of a volume button but no speakers
no clue
another thing is that i can plug my headphones into the monitor and it plays sound fine there too
just not by itself
anyone got any better monitor reccomendattions
Sound through the monitor is kinda eh anyway
external speakers are almost always better
i mean i dont wanna use headphones all the time
so either that or a soundbar
so any soundbar reccs work too
or like a speakr or sum
you can get decent speakers for relatively cheap
headphone jack
most monitors have a headphone/line out jack
also even if it did have speakers i probably wouldnt have recommended using them either
because monitor speakers like 9 times out of ten are going to be terrible quality
woah
@white temple I replaced an RX580 with that lol
does anyone know any good micro atx cases? i was considering the okinos aqua 3 but i want a second opinion before buying
I've heard that's a nice one
Dan a3 matx is probably the kind of the matx though
looks great! this message was brought to you over a TI 81 calculator
is it recommended to use DDU when upgrading gpus, from amd to amd? and do u use it after u install the new one or on the old one?
also, is there something similar u should do when upgrading from an amd cpu to an amd cpu or nah
Just GPUs
There isn't really an intel driver option afaik outside of DDU
But amd has amd cleanup utility
That does all amd stuff including gpu drivers, but be wary it will also do all amd stuff...lol
Generally speaking intel and ryzen drivers are generally left alone but you could be liberal to clean those too if need be
got it tysm
cpu to cpu, reinstalling windows is recommend, especially for going from amd to intel or vice versa
amd to amd (or intel to intel) is less likely to cause issues but still recommended to reinstall windows for that
Anyone have any good 650w power supply’s the one I was gonna order the company isn’t shipping looking for something in the 50-60 range
If you'd spend more these are a good bit better quality
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jZHqqs/adata-xpg-core-reactor-ii-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-corereactorii650g-bkcus
I feel called out
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 7600, Apevia PRISM MicroATX Mid Tower
is rhis good
Looking for some help as I am new to this. I was looking to buy the ASUS PRIME B760M-A AX motherboard for my plex server for a node 804 case. How would I know what bios it comes with? I wanted to get intel 14th gen but says 12th and 13th on the product page but seen comments about people using with 14th before.
i think u could push for a better gpu
There's no way to know
The best thing is to just get a mobo with bios flashback, or go for a diff cpu (most of 14th gen is very similar to 13th, with the exception of 14700k)
B760m pg riptide wifi is a better mobo anyways, and has flashback
Much better vrms on it if I remember right, I can double check
14+1+1 on the riptide, asus being asus doesn't actually list the vrm specs on their website
But it looks to throttle with a 12700k, which means they're far worse than 14+1+1
Thanks for the help and info! Appreciate it. Trying to figure all this out but there’s so many parts out there. Need something with 6 Sata spots or be able expand but not sure how expanding fully works. I plan to get up to 4-6HDDS + an SSD for my movie server
Let me ask you all something. Why does the price of each individual PC component matter that much when you wanna build a super high end one that is gonna be $5000-$6000 total?
I’m talking about when we get an rtx 6090
It'd still be better to watch for prices to spend it on other things lol
But it'll depend on the build
like with $5000-$6000 total you'd probably have something like $2000 of leeway for doing stuff for cosmetics
but if you spend more than the leeway, you'll have to start compromising on components and/or peripherals
Like people freaked out because in one of my pc builds I had a 1500 watt power supply selected for $300
And then I also selected an aio water cooler for $90 because on pc part picker that literally was the cheapest price I could possibly find
uhh pcpp has frozen notte and stuff still
unless it's tr4 or something that's not compatible
What is the context tho
anyways those are things I would also complain about up to a certain budget
Then where else am I ever supposed to look for pc parts of everyone’s worried so much about prices of each part?
When was the AIO purchased?
Also yea we'd need the list for context
I mean sure $300 psu is fine
If the rest of the list justifies it
It all depends on context
Anyways moving on does anyone think there’s any issue if you install 96 gigabytes of ram into your pc?
2x48gb sticks are pretty decent for performance considering the amount
Depends
If it's 2x48 no
If it's 4 sticks on DDR5
Then you could run into stability issues
Wonder if there’ll be an rtx 6090 out eventually next year
I mean 2x48 is going to run worse than 2x24 or 2x32 but it'd still run better than 4 sticks
DDR5 does not like running on 4 sticks
The 5090 is out but right now I have an rtx 4080 so not sure how much of an upgrade it’d be from a 4080 to 5090. And people might be complaining because it’s a $2000 gpu
I don't think that's why people are complaining
right now most of the complaint is nonexistant stock, nonexistant msrp, and nonexistant (missing) performance
People are complaining because it's a $2000 gpu that's $4000 on the market
And again it depends on the context
What is the use case?
4K gaming is one scenario where a 5090 is a reasonable choice... At msrp
Think what my plan for right now is to save up money and try to get $6,000 ready for next year so that when I upgrade from my rtx 4080 I can see the newer pc parts later.
Trying to save well so I can put together a real good pc with fast frame rates per second
...for?
4K gaming?
Specific games?
Performance does not scale linearly across all tasks
Without the context I can say that
Your will see greater gains in some games than in others
And greater gains in higher resolution of over lower
$6000 gets you 2 high end builds, unless $4000 of that is a 5090 lol
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5090, Montech KING 95 PRO ATX Mid Tower
is 15%-25% ram usage normal?
I have chrome and disc open
nzxt cam
they seem a bit high
That's low if anything
do you know why in certain instances when I hover over the chrome window it just lags out, i get like 1 fps for 20 sec
I’ll try to rec it
wow it went away
It was not (imo)
The 9070xt is $600 cheaper and slightly less performance.
But at least you’ll get a 5080
no
(mine is like 60% with chrome and discord ong)
oh only 50
i have a 3060 ti rn so i would like an upgrade. sad part is that i bought a 4070 super and returned it to snag a 50 seriers card :/ not worth
Solid upgrade
💀💀
Just like taking your car to the mechanic
How much hz in monitor does 4060 ti supports? And can you play on 2k or 4k on 4060 ti?
Uh
I don't think performance is measured like that
bro the 1% lows are insane
I get above 200fps
rarely dips below 190
goes all the way to 255
(in warzone)
guys i want buy old gpu for play 2d games rx 6600 Asrock challanger or rtx 3060 msi ventes
2D games? Just use your iGPU (the GPU within your CPU)
Is 750 w enough for 5080 & i7 14700k
A good 750 could probably handle it but yeah I'd stick to 850w
I also wouldn't bother with a 14700k unless you're doing video editing
A-tier 750W at minimum
Gf3 is rly good for its price
Nrn there's cheaper a tier psus arm
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite ATX Mid Tower
Is this a gaming pc
If so the 9950x3d is marginally worse than the 9800x3d
If you're doing heavy workstation use and gaming the 9950x3d could make sense
I do gaming and work load. That's why I opted for that over the 9800
Honestly though, 8 cores would be fine enough if you're gaming WAY MORE than other workstation types of things
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite ATX Mid Tower
Man $4664.94 (for me) for an AMD CPU and an Nvidia 80-class GPU. What has this market come to
$410 for a case is absurd but I assume you want that and only that case
You can definitely get a different power supply with the same wattage for cheaper too (Bacca already fixed this lol I just didn't see it)
I didn't pay that much for it, I saw that and giggled
Power supply was how I got hold of graphics card. Was only able to get the gpu if I bundled it
Don't trust those ADATA XPG SSDs. They swap around the components practically every year. You can get an XPG from 2023 and get another one from 2024. They're entirely different SSDs (different chip manufacturers, etc.)
(Ask me how I know lol)
I didn't, it's a tryx aio, but partpicker only listed the panorama, so I stuck it there as a placeholder so to speak
Damn really? It used to be great, that sucks
At least for the SX8200s. Idk about the S70 SSDs
Oh the sx8200 was alr low end to begin with
Yeah 💀
I'm possibly (probably?) wrong about the S70
I should really get a new boot SSD
i need to reorganize my storage again and i really dont want to
I really decided "yeah let me just use the same SX8200 that's already seen like two other platforms"
I might just ask for PC components for my birthday. Car payment is gonna kill me from getting decent storage and RAM
awake at 10:37 AM central time is crazy for the time this photo was taken
My bad this isn't general
whatever lol
Ban him
:0
Wth 3600 for a 5080 build
That's just the market nowadays
Uh no, not when the 5080 is 1200
i tried to follow the same idea he had, it can 100% be a lot cheaper
especially bc of that case
What on earth are you using this pc for
That costs more than my 7950x3d/4090 pc from a couple years ago
And I used that for some time for work
Good luck finding a 4090 that ain't used for less than 2k tho
That's the thing tho
You both are pointing out the gpu price but the list says 1200
A $1200 gpu workstation pc shouldn't cost 3.6k OR 5k
There's at least $600 even in Bacca's list that can be curbed out of that before it becomes remotely reasonable
Let alone the 5K at 2 grand well over budget
I'm a pretty reasonable guy but spending more than a 5090 pc worth and you aren't even getting anywhere near that is gonna get my attention
It better be a good reason
Lmfao
Jfc every single thing in that 5K list costs double than what should be paid for the spec
D30s replaced with thermalrights or samas for a tenth of the price, the psu is $100 overpriced even with the extras, the case is plain expensive and you can achieve similar for half or a quarter as much even with the touch screen, the ssd's are mid tier and cost twice as much as similar performing high capacity models
The gpu costs double what it needs to be
The GPU is already triple of what it's worth too lol
The ram is overpriced and poor quality vs the competition which sells the same stuff
The mobo is excessive for the spec and adds virtually nothing (And I know this cos these lists never involved valid use of expensive boards)
And that cpu is invalid if you only game
It's impressive that every single point is contended here
Lmao
Like I'm not here to just purely roast this cos that's an entire used car in extra unnecessary spending
It's even worse than I thought
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Lian Li A3-mATX MicroATX Mini Tower
You can undervolt a 9070xt, spend less than half as much, and STILL have all the bells and whistles
No compromised spec, it's all still there
Drops under 2K if you ditch the 9950X3D which I'm positive isn't needed here
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dnYzC8
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Lian Li A3-mATX MicroATX Mini Tower
Hell even a decent 5070Ti bundle would outgun a 5080 in value by a huge bit
That 9800X3D is probably still good for a workstation tbh
It is
Even then, you don't need an X3D CPU. You could get a 9900X or 9950X if you absolutely need more cores
Been a while since I've seen a pcmr type list
But beating my waterlooped 4090 build of 2 years ago is impressive
I had more storage and performance with older parts lol
But that's not how it reads
I read the list as "I want the best and I will buy the best"
Which is absolutely not the way to go about things
Yeah that's why I'd want a 9950X3D lol
For me it's a drop-in upgrade though. Not a whole build
You really don't tho
Literally would only be so I have a better system than my friend
Cos single ccd vcache is annoying to work with
Yeah now that I have a car payment, I don't care for it 💀
It's not a bad cpu at all
But like
Even for the thrill of just being a pc part it's not the most fun
You really want to know what you're doing with one
It's a tiny threadripper on a consumer platform with all the quirks that make dual ccd more annoying than any other ryzen
It's a great cpu but not for beginners
The most sensible upgrade for me rn is a GPU. Even then is it out of reach for me
You don't need any upgrade
This is at least talking about performance. I actually need more storage than I need a GPU
You need to pay off a car lol
Yeah exactly lol
Might ask for a 9070 XT for my birthday
throw the 4070 Super in one of my servers and make it a near-proper AI server
I'm glad I got one cos the calculated real market value has shown it's true colours now
It's a great gpu and the launch price was totally worth it
How has it been? How much did you spend on it (was it over Australian MSRP)?
Mine's still on the way
I have other build parts coming too
Whole new PC?
Being 5th on this list at 750 is amazing tbh
750 for a 9070xt is a lot better than it looks
Halfway there
Gotcha. What else is going into it?
Fractal north, vertical mount, my KS and apex are going in
Unless plans change and I swipe an X3D am4 chip to play with
I will be paying very little for it cos I'll be selling off old parts
What KS is that?
Nah I'd put that in there over whatever AM4 X3D chip lol
It's like the second highest SP you can ever get
Maybe 3rd highest
It clocks really high lol
Gonna see cos my 5900X is getting old
lol I just upgraded my gf to a 5900X (she plays Hello Kitty Island Adventure)
how intensive is that game
You bet your butter
The most intense game
Worse than doom
That's full on extreme geometry dash
Lighter than Doom
Hello kitty more like hello bullet hell
Oh
Eternal
Switch could probably do a stable 45fps if you could OC it a bit and if they lowered the settings just a bit
170 locked lmao
They really made it so that any girl around the age of 21 could run it on her college laptop
the stereotypes are real
Hello Kitty Island Adventure might actually be one of the best games to release in 2025. It's so well optimized it's actually not a joke lmao
Run it on a MacBook, your phone, anything that runs Steam
So practically anything
Your Samsung refrigerator maybe
Mobile games run well like that
They in fact are
Get a Hello Kitty girl you'll understand 💀
looking it up the game looks like animal crossing wild world
fr
wrong game fr fr 😔
isabelle wasnt added until the game after wild world
i literally was on a football team and collect knives and do archery
(I would if it's fun)
i play animal crossing
lmao
But fr nintendo has bored me forever
wild world is my favourite in the series, best villager personalities imo
also holy nostalgia for the music
Villager is the scariest brawl character
meta knight
I don't remember them in old smash
mention brawl metaknight to any pro who played brawl and you'll enact ptsd
kirby has been consistently ass competitively in every game since 64. however, he is the funny pink ball and i love him
best pink rock
Also I didn't take you for a brawl player
I have only really played the 64 version seriously lol
i have.. too many hours on smash
lmao
brawl was my intro to the series
i never played much of s4
and i have state PR in Ultimate
Just state?
theres national, international, and state
state is pretty damn good, im top 5
but there are a lot of cracked players who have been playing a decade+
But that means there's 250 others in the country who could beat you
i mean yeah
im not claiming to be one of the top 100 players in the world lol
the game has an extremely wide skill gap
I mean I was exactly that in forza
In fact I think I might still be despite the absence
I have only gotten faster in my time off
i have too much life to live to grind smash to that degree
most top 10k players have 9999+ hours on smash ultimate
and usually more from other games
different types of skill
You need to play smarter not harder
Grinding skill is effectively similar
not how that really works with fighting games, its pretty different
It's still time based
you could play 100 hours of ultimate and you'd still be considered a noob
But 9999 and you're pro
Same rules apply
I went to top 500 in halo too in school, I have a wide gamut
Lol
Learn smarter not harder
bro calling me dumb fr
lemme just, learn smarter rq
ty for the advice, im gonna beat mkleo now
No bro you don't get it. You're dumb asf
(please don't get mad at me it's a joke)
dw i can read motor
I can still keep up on minimal hours cos I do routines that keep the skills sharp
hi mod
hi mod
also felix i guarantee you wouldnt improve at a prodigy level rate in ultimate just by "working smarter not harder"
most of ultimate is learning exact interactions and muscle memory
You'd think racing games are easy to hit the top rank but compared to just getting top 1k you go from basic input to near perfect input
i never thought that no
That's exactly what I was talking about tho
Racing games are easy to get a good ranking in because most of the players are kids who don't know the brake button and why it's important
You learn by practicing the things that make you sharper
Rather than just grinding out time
with how many characters there are good luck doing that substantially faster than the typical person
Game sense is a different skill set to input sense
well duh 🥹
Game sense is a time based skill
It still makes the top end hard af tho
felix i feel like youre going like 2 steps ahead and need to step back a bit
you and i arent communicating lol
Wot
i know its time based and how well you utilize that
most esports are
what i was saying is smash is way grindier than a lot of titles
it takes a lot more time to improve in ultimate compared to melee as an example
fuh reel
My brother was ranked in smash as well for like 2 years
i have 3k hours and i still only think im a high level player
I'm well aware of how a good portion of it works
we need to communicate better lmao
The advice is still relevant, you practice smarter not harder
i never said it wasnt relevant, i just meant it was unrelated to my original statement
I coached two esports teams mate 😂
You're deflecting the suggestions cos I haven't played at any reasonable degree
Lol
put your foot on the pedal hold on
i wasnt asking for suggestions, this started because i mentioned i had state pr and you said "only?"
it came off pretty rough
and then you went down a rabbit hole on how i should improve
Fr
if all i did was grind id get burnt out and drop it
hence why im state pr where i can just enjoy the damn game
so idc if im "only" at state pr, i'd rather have fun. idc if youre top 100 or hell if you were top 1 at forza, quite frankly zero f#### given 😭
its cool but its hard to see it as cool when its thrown in my face like a badge of honor
fair enough
When was the last time
Oh ;)
I ACTUALLY mentioned it
Cos I can tell you I've only said it in this server about 4 times ever
i didnt mean you constantly talk about it, i just mean when its presented in a way that was unwarranted
I don't throw my weight around about something like that but you know, I've coached and trained a good 2 dozen or more in your position, and I hear it all the same
It's your choice to take the advice, I'm not saying I'm better at the game
Not my prorogative
i felt like you just got a bit ambitious compared to where im at
But I've learned a lot being in the scene for a long time, if you ever wanted a shot at esports, there's tons to learn
i knew your advice was good intent onlyl
No I really don't cos I was near the peak of halo when it was bigger than smash mate
I don't pull that out of nowhere
It was just friendly, caring advice
Anyway I really don't wanna go further this is not going in the slightest way intended
👋
I tried to stop it before it got to this point
Intention was never to get heated about something like this
I forgot that it's like way past Felix's bed time rn
I wasnt even heated
It felt more like you were shoving a superiority in my face than helping me, regardless of your intent thats how it came off to me
The issue was you were kinda feet on the pedal. Thats all, sorry that i got a bit rude, i was just trying to communicate that i genuinely dont take the game seriously enough to want to put in that kind of effort forward, i just play for fun
It felt like you werent listening to what i had to say
.
.
.
.
i'd appreciate it if you reread our convo tomorrow, i dont want bad blood between us just understanding
Man did I miss something?
rereading it i see just a lot of miscommunication. I probs shouldve tried to make it a bit more obvious that i really wasnt looking for advice from the beginning since thats the conception you were at. however the way you came about it undermining a small accomplishment of getting state PR did come off snobbish even if i can see you didnt mean it that way.
what would the amd equivalent to a 4070 super be?
When u guys sell ur old parts online on like FB marketplace, what’s like the best payment methods so u don’t get scammed? Cash, Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp? do they all have no refund policies, or is cash pretty much the safest? just tryna maximize the amount of buyers
PayPal, goods and services option. That means PayPal will cover you for the refund if something happens on either end, buyer and seller.
They charge a small fee for the service, it's worth it
Don't let them talk you into doing friends and family, you will have no protections then
gotchu tysm
Hello! I am new to the server and joined because I need a bit of advice on my PC build. Does anyone think they can help me with just knowing if this is a good enough build to accept all the parts?
https://secure.newegg.ca/wishlist/md/29871918 (I tried to post a PDF but I don't have perms, so I am just posting via wishlist.)
the link isnt accessible for us
try making a list with pcpartpicker
I got that on standby! https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/VvpgqH
Here is the plan. I plan to buy the follow underneath this message to put those parts on a payment plan, while the others I can pay those upfront immediately.
Here are the parts:
GIGABYTE B550 GAMING X V2 AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
EVGA 700 BR 100-BR-0700-K1 700 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Non-Modular Power Supply
Team Group MP33 M.2 2280 512GB PCIe 3.0 x4 with NVMe 1.3 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) TM8FP6512G0C101
how much is the motherboard
honestly speaking, at this budget you might want to try to look for used hardware
$164.99. Originally $189.99. All in CAD.
I am willing to consider maybe getting a better one but that depends on the price and my budget. My budget is $650. Everything I am buying is going to be from Newegg.
Do yourself a favor and avoid the q300l, its a very old design and is a pain to cable manage in

I also wouldn't limit yourself purely to newegg
Back to 5600gt

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT, Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower
Meh, $6 more than the p34a60, either is fine
Basically the same ssd
Reason is, my area doesn't offer a whole lot and over charges for everything because I am Canadian...
Ah just noticed ca not us
Pcpartpicker filters for the cheapest merchants
Unless shipping is weird for you
There's three options tho, you do you
Other issue, a lot of stuff that shows that it would be $650 is because of Amazon, but not all of these parts are avalible in my area of Canada.
Oh! I take that back!
It looks like all the stuff on the list is avalible from Amazon!!!
Oh nice
Sweet
Going for the 8600g list gives you much more upgrade headroom
Except the Asus PRIME B650M-A AX6 II Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard
That one is not available.
B850m-x wifi is a good alternative
Or this with a separate wifi card
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/mkqrxr/gigabyte-b650m-d3hp-micro-atx-am5-motherboard-b650m-d3hp
Another ones that aren't available are:
TEAMGROUP MP33 512GB SLC Cache 3DNAND TLC NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Internal SSD R/W up to 1700/1400 MB/s Compatible w/Laptop&Desktop TM8FP6512G0C101
EVGA 700 BR, 80+ Bronze 700W, 3 Year Warranty, Power Supply 100- BR-0700-K1 100-BR-0700-K1
Ratings are low. 3 stars which worries me,
Dw about the pcpartpicker ratings, although tbf it isn't a great mobo
B850m-x is better than the other two, marginally
6+1+1 vs 4+2+1 for vrms
(Cpu power delivery)
I like these 2 links. But which one is the best?
That first one
P34a60 512gb is just as good as the mp33 though
Or i can find a diff choice if those both aren't available for you
If you'd spend some more i can clean the list up a bit
But its alr $50 over
In the first link the only ones that aren't available are these:
TEAMGROUP MP33 512GB SLC Cache 3DNAND TLC NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Internal SSD R/W up to 1700/1400 MB/s Compatible w/Laptop&Desktop TM8FP6512G0C101
EVGA 700 BR, 80+ Bronze 700W, 3 Year Warranty, Power Supply 100- BR-0700-K1 100-BR-0700-K1
Yep. Looks to be so.
This would be better, it gives you a bit more upgrade headroom if you care
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/8mfxFT/asrock-challenger-cl-650g-650-w-80-gold-certified-atx-power-supply-cl-650g
What's the difference between the two? They both give out 650 W?
The asrock one is just a bit better quality
There's a tier list we use thats pinned in #cases-psu-and-cooling , and using the tiers to differentiate is a bit easier
The ABN is C tier, the asrock is B+ if i remember right
This is A tier and would also make cable managing easier
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/xfV2FT/msi-mag-a650gl-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-mag-a650gl
Eh. It's my first ever PC so I am not to worried heavily on quality. I just want a decent enough computer to run some games.
Any of them would be more than fine for that build though, and the nice thing
You can add a second stick of ram, add a gpu, and then later swap the cpu out and itll feel like a whole new pc
The biggest thing I want to do is try to get $300 items off of Newegg to add to a payment plan, so I can pay the rest off in cash upfront.
The ABN can still handle a decent gpu down the line anyways
Oh the 700br is on newegg, is that an option for you?
Can get the 8600g off newegg, that's $260 right there
Let me make a Newegg wishlist for your PC build suggestion so I can look more into costs and stuff.
This is everything I can suggest from newegg, ram I would order elsewhere
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/8ZKVb2
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 8600G, Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower
Mobo is a bit worse than the b850m-x and you lose 100w on the psu, but its otherwise identical
Looks like the AMD CPU won't be compatible.
Also, I can't find the ASRock B850M-X WiFi Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard on Newegg
Oh right you either need a mobo with bios flashback or a b850
Yeah the -x wasn't available on newegg
Let me see what mobos would be gauranteed to work, one sec
Oh wait that motherboard does have flashback
You can update bios with a usb drive as long as you have another device to install smthn on it
@mossy venture To help you out, if you can find me over $300 on the dot or a bit above of stuff on Newegg and the rest can be bought from amazon, that would be perfect.
Is the 8600g available on newegg for you?
Mp33 512gb?
That one I can say yes, because I had that in my custom build link. Let me add it to the cart.
Cool, and if you want to go for some more either the nx200m or i can grab a different case option
Nx200m isn't terrible but is a bit restricting gpu clearance wise. Just a future upgrade concern, if you don't care the nx200m is fine
Those 2 items cost:
Item(s):
$312.99
Est. Shipping:
$19.99
Could also do the 700 BR from newegg i think, pcpartpicker shows it in stock
So $332.98
BR is C tier just like the ABN
Let me check
Yep, I had that one in my list as well so let me go add it in.
Cool, then you'd just need
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/grCnjn
Part List - Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower
The nice thing w that ram is it's some of the best ddr5. Add a second stick of the same ram later, and you have a great 32gb set
Hold on.
Hm?
Put the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G 6-Core, 12-Thread Desktop Processor in their for amazon.
Nevermind...
I forgot. I need Newegg items to be the $300+
Yikes. $40 monthly payments. That's what I was wanting to keep low on being on $300 as I am at $444.12.
You can take the psu out
And get one from amazon
Part List - Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower
So take out the EVGA?
Yeah
If you need it any cheaper I think you'd need to sacrifice storage size and just add another ssd later on
Total cost of everything. $737.16
I do get at least $31 monthly payments for the Newegg which total cost is: $349.63
Might consider it maybe. I do agree that sacrificing storage may not be the best option, but I could always get more later on.
One question I have, does the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G - Ryzen 5 8000-G Series 6-Core 4.3 GHz Socket AM5 65W AMD Radeon 760M Processor - 100-100001237BOX, have a built in GPU?
Yes it does
Just a warning windows will use a bit over 100gb, you'll have like 100gb usable
You could do an am4 build with a used cpu and gpu
Is this for the SSD?
Yeah
Looks like I best keep the current 512 GB SSD as it may be my best option.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ATX Mid Tower
Used cpu/gpu, a few parts are from newegg
Would have to look on a site like ebay or Facebook marketplace for a cpu/gpu
You'd also get better gaming performance that way, much better gpu
Obviously more effort tho, I understand not wanting to
Nahhh, I think we will keep to the build you already did. I like this one a bit:
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Bczw8Q
Newegg parts:
AMD Ryzen 5 8600G - Ryzen 5 8000-G Series 6-Core 4.3 GHz Socket AM5 65W AMD Radeon 760M Processor - 100-100001237BOX

Part List - Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower
Sounds good
So far this look's like a decent quality build. Probably far better then my origional one.
Yeah the igpu on the 8600g is a lot better than the 5600gt
Better cpu performance as well
I am starting to wonder if mine was even good at all now lol.
I can grab a quick comparison
Igpu
Cpu comparison
And like I mentioned going am5 gives you better upgrade options as well
I will say, the 8600G seems to have lower reviews than the 5600GT
User reviews are really pointless, even moreso when it comes to cpus
Most reviews from the 5600GT are all positive with not many negatives.
Official reviews like on YouTube or from official sites are better
Or just a performance comparison lol
Understandable. Honestly I just would hate to have to run into a problem and have to replace the item for another hundreds of dollars.
I get that. Cpus have the second lowest failure rate of pc parts right behind ram
Can you take a look at this power supply and tell me if it's better or worse then the MSI MAG A550BN 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Sure

Bomb?
Known for killing pcs
Oh!!!
Occasionally catches fire
Amazon warehouse might be an option
Those are used/returns
Maybe for a mobo or psu
There's sometimes decent deals in the US atleast
Not sure if its available and worth it in Canada, I've never looked
Alright, well thank you for your time and help! I deeply do appreciate the advice and recommendations. I think I will go with your PC build idea as it seems the best. I am going to head off to bed as I got work tomorrow, but I am going to send you a DM so I can keep in touch for any more questions!
is this good https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-006C-00001
Imo I'd do this and replace the ram

Yeerr
CyberProblems lol
i hate how cyberpower and cyberpowerpc has such similar names
despite being completely unrelated lmfao
well, not completely, they're both in the tech industry
but one does electrical stuff for computers and the other does computers
I didn't know they were two separate companies
that's exactly the problem lol
cyberpower systems was founded one year before cyberpowerpc
what's the best model for the 9070xt?
I've seen some really cool ones like from XFX and sapphire, but I haven't really seen any testings for the temps n etc for all of the models
dont think there's any charts comparing them all out there, youll have to view individual reviews and build your own conclusion
this is the closest one i know of
Whichever is closest to MSRP
except maybe the Ventus/Mech if there is one
Msi isnt making rdna 4 cards
Oh yeah
But I wonder why the hotspot delta is so high on these cards
Gamers Nexus said it's behavior they're seeing across the board this generation
maybe because the die is long? idk
Yeah I remember that but still wonder why that is
Doesn't cyberpower make UPS systems?
I wonder what ptm will do
the nitro running hot is insane
ya I was looking at microcenter, pulse, some white asrock, and the reaper model were 600$
why?
the amount of advertising they do for their nitro models just for it to run hot on a 9070xt
Because its a chungus and costs a lot
its got that weird power connector too
Ik it has the power connector goes through the back of the card
but it's also like "split"
i think a fair few hobbyists will be adding their own cooling upgrades to 9070's
cyberpower does
cyberpowerpc doesn't
whats a good like 50$ 1tb ssd i can find
Crucial P3
Roughly $50 probably
C910
@vapid notch
anyone know what I should improve/change on this

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Pls don't pay $1000 for a 7900xt
Its $680 on newegg
Oh that's not bad, alr
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Oh
Yeah thats the issue
7900xt won't be coming back in stock. You'll need to look for a 9070/xt or 5070 ti, but they're few and far between atm
You'll either need to be patient, get lucky with the newegg shuffle, or get lucky with a restock
If you happen to be in the market for an OLED monitor as well, there's a 9070xt bundle on newegg
I mean im open to whatever
Just moved so im completely restarting my setup
Oh wait here you go
Check this out on @Newegg:GPU PSU Combo - Sapphire Tech 11348-02-20G Bundle with Corsair CP-9020270-NA https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4770426&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-Combo.4770426-_-03192025
Still not a good price, but its at least in stock
Yeah its pretty solid, might be a bit noisy
Can definitely handle the 350w gpu and a low power cpu like a 7700
There's also some 9070 non xt bundles, if you want it to be cheaper. It's about a 25% difference if i remember right
https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4770411&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-Combo.4770411-_-03192025
$125 extra for 25% more performance is worth it tho, imo
How long do you think until people can start to get their hands on the 5070's
do you its worth to wait?
Not really, there's no saying what prices will actually be like with tarrifs
$790 is a bit much for a 9070xt tbf
You could likely find one cheaper with some patience and effort
First time I've seen it in stock though, aside from at launch
yeah im definitely considering this one
https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4765156&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-Combo.4765156-_-03192025
Oh wait one sec
The psu might not have enough pcie power cables for the gpu, it looks like it has 3 8pins for gpu or cpu
1 will be needed for cpu, im not sure you'd be fine to use 2 8 pins from the same cable for that
How were you finding the combo deals with the 7900
Just searching 9070xt on newegg and scrolling through
For some reason they're buried in between out of stock stuff
Im pretty new to this stuff, just trying to get the best bang for my buck
Is there any other gpu I should look into?
The 9070xt bundle here is probably your best bet right now
Unless you're fine with used/refurb, nah not really
A 5070 around $600 would be decent
But the issue is there aren't any
I've seen a 5070 at $620 once but it went oos in literally 2 minutes after the listing went up
Btw do you live near a microcenter?
There's stock drop discords and apps and such
Some still have 9070xt stock
Im not sure, I just moved
^ good point
lemme look
If you do, could also grab the 9700x/mobo/ram bundle for $400
Depends on you but generally only <2hr is worth lol
Do you think an rme750 would be fine with daisy chanining one of the 8 pins for a 9070xt?
I am too hesitant to make fast purchases but I think this is the one time I splurge
I was hesitant abt it
Yea I don't see why not, especially since rme has relatively high ocp iirc
Cool
You're good w this one then
Don't need to pay the extra for the other one
Especially if you're doing 2 cables for 3x8 pin on a 9070xt
Yeah its a 3x8pin 9070xt
idk what language y'all are speaking 😭
would I have to buy anything else
Wdym?
like a different type of cord or something
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Nah you're good
Yep! The aio is a purely aesthetic thing
yeah thats all I got it for
Alr then you're all good
Could do a cheaper case if you'd like, the xr is solid though
Do you reccomend any moniters or keyboards/mouse?
im open to whatever
I just want the all black look
For sure. How much would you want to spend on a monitor?
I dont really know how much that stuff costs now
its been 4 years since my last build
It's <$200 for 1440p144+ IPS, ~$400-500 for 1440p240 oled
I'd do mini led for $190 or $250 for the cheaper end
Mini led IPS and OLED are panel types
IPS is the standard, Mini led will be a bit worse for competitive gaming but has much nicer colors
My last moniter was a 144hz 1ms delay but tahts all I can remeber about it
OLED is all around fantastic. Next to no input delay, very fast responsiveness, and the same amazing colors as mini led
The best idea is to go to a best buy or other similar retailer to be able to see it in person if possible
I want 2 moniters eventaull should I maybe do mini led for the second one and ips for the main?
smart
Sure, personally I'd do mini led for the main but you can see the differences for yourself
Usually won't have OLED monitors on display but they'll usually have OLED TVs on display
is oled that life changing to double the prices?
Here, mini led and an IPS recc
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tXWZ8Q
Part List
It's significant enough that it's still worth mentioning at double the price, but it's not life changing
Its really dependant on you. Personally I settled for mini led because I didn't want to shill out twice the money
whats the diffrence
Best idea is to see it in person
.
OLED has infinite contrast, it's not backlit so black is actually black, mini led simulate it using local dimming zones
I dont like super clicky and I want anything bugger than 60
I know next to nothing about keyboards and mice
Lazy option is Keychron, everything hotswap and you have basically every layout option
K2 HE is reasonably priced for HE switches if you're into that
Im not sure what HE switches are
its really nice looking though
Im coming off a ducky one 2 mini and I liked that one
it was just too small
Hall effect switches, it's the current trend, you can look at all the marketing stuff on the K2 HE page.
Gist is you can edit actuation point and mess around with more features.
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k2-he-wireless-magnetic-switch-keyboard
Keychron K2 HE is a 75% layout QMK wireless keyboard with Magnetic Hall Effect switches. These switches offer precise actuation, rapid trigger, and adjustable actuation points. Connect the K2 HE with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
any mouse suggestions
You can look around at the other models and layouts on keychrons site, outside of that the only thing I've heard about recently is bridge75
Is there a reason you took the fans off or is it just because they're unnecessary
it's unncessary to have extra fans in a case with 3 preinstalled fans and you have a 3 fan aio
That
I was planning on replacing them so I could have the all black look
Is 970 kind of absurd or just how it is now
Are you talking about not having argb? You can just turn it off or just not plug in the argb
yea thats the plan
I didnt know I could just not plug it in
it'll be 2 separate cables, it'll either be separately plugged into mobo, or separately plugged into a hub that's plugged into the mobo
do you think 970 is fair for the gpu and psu
lol now they raised the pulse price again lmao
seems like a lot but I have no clue
every week another $50-150 price increase
jesus
will be $800 by May at this rate
so buy now dont wait?
I dont recall saying that
asking others how you should spend your money isn't the best because people who make more than you will do things that you may not
Thanks for the life advice bro, just asking in general
on one hand, not fair because that's like $200 over msrp, but on the other hand, it's much better than the scalped $1000 cards lol
theory vs reality really
comes down to your true need of the card. most think in 3 months ~prices will normalize....bro
Uh
750w for an xt
Also I feel bad for you I had a 9070xt + 850w psu bundle for 800
Those prices are crazy
yeah they raised the prices on most cards
all the nitro+ bundles are %950+
the bundles with the Pure are cheaper than the Pulse lmao
i kinda wish i hadnt ignored the reaper bundles that were up for $700 for only a day
350w gpu
Its perfectly fine
A 4090 is fine on an rm750e with a 7800x3d
I mean
It can be perfectly fine
Just highly not recommended
For why
750-350=400. A 7700, motherboard, ram, aio and ssd are not pulling anywhere near 400w
Power spikes and efficiency go brrr
A psus rated wattage is nearly irrelevant when it comes to transients
My friends 4090 alone has gone to that psus rated wattage
Ye and there’s someone with a 550w too
Sorry to interrupt, but when I was unscrewing this I assumed it was an SSD. It had some sort of thermal cover on it. What is it, and did I make a mistake by unscrewing it?
Is that the chipset?
Don’t know, but it certainly isn’t the main CPU
That’s the motherboard chipset
Just screw it back on. What else can you do
Or maybe if there was thermal paste clean it and add more
It’s just a pad on the cover, that’s it
Don’t have any thermal pads lying around, just paste
not ripped so it's fine
dont need to change anything
My stupid ass accidentally formatted my SSD
Plugged the PC’s SSD into my PS5 to see if it would work in the PS5 so I could swap them both, have more storage
But I didn’t realize to see the read/write speeds of the SSD you needed to format the drive first for some reason
90% chance that's the chipset, you should screw it back on
it's because the ps5 wouldnt use ntfs lmao
assuming it's the boot drive, though for the most part you're also formatting data drives as ntfs in windows as well
I did do that, but since it was low I wanted to see if the PS5 would either reject or accept it
it was only slightly lower than minimum requirements
or a bit above I don’t know
I don’t think I had anything of importance on this drive
Only thing I can think of are some 2FA keys I had backed up
as long as your main autheniticator app still works, you can regenerate (or get back) the backup 2fa keys
yep
Just need to figure out how to get a windows image back
don’t even know if I should use this drive for PS5 anyway, seems like micron 3400 is a pretty subpar drive
For ps5 would be hilarious
I could but that isn’t the plan here
I’m not using the PS5 as much so I planned on exchanging drives between it and the PC
Give the PC more storage while giving the PS5 some leeway, because 667GB of free space isn’t enough in the modern day
Is there an anti static or work mat that's recommended around here? I was gonna get the cool gamers nexus one but it's $100
I built my pc on my bed, static hasn't been an issue with pcs in years and years unless you're intentionally trying to
Even then it'd be very very hard
I have bad static in my house, especially in my office, never been able to figure out why
My standing desk for my work laptop and monitors will occasionally shut off if I walk in certain parts of the room
And every light switch zaps me
But not anyone else
are you wearing slippers? that might be causing you to build up a charge
especially on carpeted floors
I do actually, I am always wearing slippers
On the bed is crazy work ngl
I didn’t even feel comfortable working on my pc at my desk on carpeted floor
I'll probably do it in the kitchen or something on the hardwood floor
Id still like some kind of mat or something though
just ground yourself on the case or psu every few minutes and avoid shuffling around
you can plug in the psu with the switch off, and that will connect the psu chassis to ground, so touching it should be able to get you grounded well enough
I could probably do that. My kitchen has an end counter away from all the appliances and sink, I can stand there and assemble. Probably better than my office
I have a huge kitchen table I could use as well
hey i recently got a pc but the bluetooth isn’t working /: wondering if anyone could help
was it working before? if not, are you sure that there is a bluetooth adapter in the pc?
wasn’t working, got a pre built. yes it has bluetooth because i updated drivers and did a bunch of trouble shooting and no luck
says it is detectable
i did it on my big mousepad
you can send links here yes
they really dont say the motherboard anywhere hmm
can i check on my computer lol
uhhh
