The Ethernet one is showing but I don’t see any Wi-Fi
the motherboard says wifi
Yes
Yes but i'm wondering whether you're using wifi or ethernet cause I might have smth that could save you more
oh
I downloaded drivers for Ethernet
mostly wifi
so
I want to use Wi-Fi
i use ethernet if i start to lag though
usually on msi's website
Yeah that one
it should be under drivers and LAN
I see intel chipset driver
Is that the one?
For win 10
I downloaded it and restarted but no Wi-Fi options shows up
Intel Network Drivers
or that
It's under "LAN drivers"
I still don’t see any Wi-Fi options
Do I need to connect the antenna for it to work? Lol
Ffs
yes'
Here's the bluetooth driver too while we're at it https://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/mb/bt_driver_WT.zip
Also it'll probably not show wifi as long as you're connected by a different method, like ethernet or tethering
is it bad that i use bing as a browser (mainly for microsoft rewards)
Bing is a search engine though, not a browser
Life saver thank you
i feel like people overhate on edge
Edge is less customizable and you can't use ad blockers, so tech savvy people will avoid it
I don’t get internet till Tuesday so using the hotspot is saving me
yes u can, adblock plus is on edge
all chrome extensions work on edge
It doesn't work as well
Like I said, preference
free robux?
microsoft rewards
oohhhh
I'm a firefox user myself. Stupid Chromium browsers and their war against ad block.
falcie uh how do I get opera to stop stealing my data
delete it
install firefox
Use Brave instead
oh wow! how did it ever know to give me ad preference on dole whip cause I just got a ninja creami and ONLY use opera!
firefox is cool too
you can turn those off
pretty easy too
its a setting
ik but still, doesn't stop my info from being sold
I don't use edge or chrome or any other browser
I just opened edge for the rewards cause I heard free robux 😭
its the quest
im goated at them
then i use an extension for the searches
I use librewolf
fr, if you care about this stuff, Brave
I might tbh
but ya I was wondering about ad blockers
and extensions to
I have a hulu and youtube ad skipper
Imo brave is too bloated for me
It has one built in
Brave is better than most chromium browsers aside from Ungoogled Chromium so
🤷♂️
opera gx
It's also one of the only browsers with all the privacy options enabled by default
That's one way to think of it
i love the newegg server so many nerds to help me 🙏
We love seeing money put to good use
Rather than uhh
$3000 pc with a NZXT case and a RTX 3060
"Guys I heard about this thing called NZXT Flex..."
"can anyone tell me which build redux pc is best for"
thank god they rebranded to actual prebuilts and not the old choose which games you play n etc
guys thats like average.. heh… my intel 1 ½ intergrated graphics with my temu motherboard no thermal paste get 156.FOUR trillion fps..
Yeah idk bruh I downloaded the windows 10 lan drivers and still nothing
The Ethernet works
But I can’t get the Wi-Fi option to even show up
scroll up a little bit
this is it
on msi's website it has all the network stuff on the same tab
but thats for w11
w10 i see intel drivers
i mean i guess you can search up the driver from qualcom
may only be windows 11
If that's actually the chipset then it won't work on Windows 10 at all
Windows 10 doesn't support wifi 7
2 reasons for that, no drivers and missing functionality from the OS
looks like intel is the only vendor that has driver for 10
Yep, and their driver is missing several features like 6GHz band
but even then you arent getting all the features
i mean as much as i've resisted windows 11 on my personal rig
thats mostly because i'm worried important stuff gets borked in the upgrade
If you debloat 11 and disable telemetry it's not so bad
i mean its like 90% windows 10
some things nicer some things worse
I which local accounts were a given
but I mean i have to use microsoft stuff for school
You can still do a local account on 11
In fact I have a file handy you might be interested in that you just drop into the install usb
I don't like having to do cmd workarounds
It's not that, it's literally drag and drop a file
why didn't they just let us keep the startup without internet method
I just installed 11 on my brothers new ssd the other day
was a lil surprised when it installed drivers as part of the install
Once this file is on the USB you just install as you would normally and it'll skip the most annoying parts of the installation process, while automatically creating an admin user and bypassing the wifi requirement
At least 3 people have successfully used this
I mean 3 have used this exact file successfully
I got a lot of microsoft integrated stuff so
The autounattend file has been used by system admins since at least Windows XP
https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-8600g-ryzen-5-8000-g-series-phoenix-zen-4-socket-am5/p/N82E16819113814?item=N82E16819113814 does this come with a cooling fan?
Yes
oh okay mb
i upgraded my storage to 512 because i accidentally had it as 128 and i still got 10 bucks to spend
🫃
Dang so there is no option for Wi-Fi to work unless I upgrade to win11?
so I should out a 4gb in A1 and 8 gb in A2 and same for B1/2 right?
or 8gb in the first and 4 gb in second
and also should I disable xmp profile if I do that
Just stagger them
in that order
Just realized that message was sent like five hours ago bruh
you dont have to* but don't expect it to be stable, and you might have to set a lower freq
lmao
https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-8600g-ryzen-5-8000-g-series-phoenix-zen-4-socket-am5/p/N82E16819113814?tpk=1&item=N82E16819113814 does this come with a cpu cooler
i forgot
yes
I don’t see any
I don't see any either
Somewhat hard to tell from a few images but there's nothing that jumps out
Looks perfectly fine to me despite how we're limited by your phone's megapixels
And discord compression
I think it’s the compression
Size issue
Pics were from a s21
Small sensor
But thanks guys
Smartphone sensors are inferior to dedicated cameras
Holy crap that resistance is crazy wth
Maybe I’m just weak from being sick for 4 days but
Perhaps
Ahh nope looks ruined send it to me for proper disposal
God I hate when twist ties are too tight and they leave indents on the cables
it's discord compression
what does this mean? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pZvYQd
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 8600G, Vetroo M05 MicroATX Mid Tower
i need usb ports and headphones jack and idk if that means it doesnt have those
You're fine it's not needed
That means you won't be able to use the front USB C port on the case without an adapter. The standard type A ports will still work.
oh okay, thanks 🙏
This has been the longest build on my bloody life
How long is the average post for am5
Welp I hit the reset button and it post right away
If it gets stuck like that it's a sign that you should disable "memory context restore"
It'll take a little longer to POST but it won't randomly freeze up like that
I'm of the mind ryzen 9000 or late bioses just seem to have god awful first post time?
This is like the 4th or 5th time I've seen it on short notice with no attributed issue yet
Think this is gonna give me any issues?
Initially thought it was like a slight chip but upon looking at the side profile it’s actually slightly raised
Good old RM850x. Nah that's normal.
Manufacturing?
It's designed that way, so if you need to wedge it out of the socket you can
It's not like you're going to be looking at it every day
So I’m good
It do be ugly as sin but yeah I ain’t gonna see it
Kinda like this slight chip in the pcb
Yeah you'd never see that
Ngl I thought it was part of the design til I put a flashlight on it
Ugh this mobo is nice and all
Just looks like a manufacturing blemish instead of a chip
Pcb chipping is more like, papery looking
But why gigabyte
Idk what we're looking at now but most this will be behind a gpu
You won't see that behind the GPU anyway right
So ima have to take it off when I get all my screws in then put it back on
That's not my big complaint with gigglebit tho, I hate the m.2 standoffs way more
The boards that are completely covered in heatsinks have it even worse, you need to take them all off to screw the board in 💀
I thought the ez latch would be easy
This is tool less
Am I good to peel the hexagon sticker on the psu?
It's not enough to stop me telling someone to buy one (It's a one day experience) but annoying enough I fringe on complete loathing lmao
Peel away
That applies to everything except the SSD, the sticker doubles as a heat spreader for that
Whatever the cause it won't affect anything and you won't see it when it's in the case
Besides actual work like blender, could use it for Lossless Scaling
Ah yes, the "I need faster blender so let me buy 2 amd cards" pc
Frame gen globally doing that even with unsupported games is fun
time for double 5090s baby
I hate myself so much
gimmie that 2000w psu
Nah that would be a total waste. For 4k frame gen the most you would need is like a 1070.
I was reseating my mobo and it slipped like an inch
Like it never left my hand but idk
I took it out and I don’t think I saw any dmg but you never know
Ive never taken this long to get a pc going
can i do this to my igpu
i should try
Yeah worth a shot
the overhead is insane since the 4050 is already maxed out in games i wanna do some frame generation
instead of smoothness i get more stuttering
Modern motherboards have "safe zones" around the motherboard standoffs just in case of this exact situation, so if it gets scratched around the standoff it doesn't break
It’s not that
Is it worth upgrading my gpu from 3070 to whatever? I want to get a 1440p display, running a 12700k with 750w psu
7900 XT might be a good upgrade
I was lowering it down holding the top half and ot was tilted downward the bottom half just unexpectedly shifted down an inch to the case
Isn't that like the most expensive amd gpu or am I tripping ( I'm a broke college student)
You're thinking of the 7900 XTX
7900xt is 650
Kappa
Maybe not that high end (I play league)
But like when the motherboard shifted it made a noise it all happened so fast idk if it scraped up against something or that was just the sound of the board making contact with the standoffs
Funny thing to note, AMD does better in many esports games because there's less driver overhead
What's the different between gre and xt?
Mostly memory speed
It's XTX > XT > GRE
If you overclock the memory on the GRE it can get close to the XT in performance
That's not bad
Has to be fake right
New? No that's suspiciously low
Yeah scamazon
Scamazon
lol
Just look at the seller name lmao
You should delete that pic
God I’m so stressed out now, I was so happy it finally posted and now I’m back to despair
I've done that a couple times
Like I said, safe zones around where the standoffs are to save you in this exact scenario
As long as the scrape isn't more than 2 layers deep
I'm guessing 3070 to 7700xt isn't too big of a jump? Im running 1080p on 3070 and want to run 1440p on 7700xt
nope
Meh
you'd get more performance because of more vram but eh
Hmm okay, I might look for 7800 then, 7900 is too overkill for me
Ehhh
If you mean DLSS 4.0 then yes but also no
7900 gre?
The 7900 isn't overkill really
Any 7900, I am never using all that
Like bro the games I play are league and hsr and I mostly use my pc for school work and videos 💀💀, I just wanna get a good 1440p gpu for casual gaming and good sustain for future
6750XT/7700XT < 7800XT < 7900XT/GRE < 7900XTX
Radeons dominate the mid range
Yeah
heck 3070 will be okay lmao
Also never buying nvidia again, bought 3070, so many crashes and such less performance
I think you got those greater than/less than signs mixed up
yep
I agree too, works well but I want to get into 1440p I love higher picture quality
I meant 7700 instead of 7800
a 7800xt it is
lol
Fixed
no higher than that
There you go
I'm a little spoiled, don't need crazy specs for now, just enough for a 1440p
Yeah all the radeons are pretty good value for your money anyways
7800 XT can do 1440p medium/high depending on game so that's a fair target
hsr and league is ez to run
Prob not, they still kinda new mo?
I still see those 1650's and 20 series cards only lol
There's like no low end so
The low end is actually just dead
There is intel... (Or an igpu)
Anyways thanks guys, I doxxed myself but I think I'll be fine, gn!
Yesn't
AMD next gen isn't out yet and Nvidia is effectively non-existent
We don't expect new midrange stuff until like May
Ok let me clarify, 5070 by the end of Feb, 5060/ti by the end of april
But stock issues throughout
Because Nvidia simply isn't making as many gaming dies these days, in favor of the AI stuff they get 800%+ profit margin on
The NgreedAI meme is real
would this work with my XFX 6950?
randomly scrolling thru amazon looking at watercooling stuff cause im bored and found it
Probably if it's one of the listed models
only the 6800/6900 XT, but mine shares the exact same cooler
Sure it might share the same cooler but does it share the same PCB is the question
ik thats not the xfx pcb but
i cant imagine the 6900 being that much different to the 6950
One capacitor out of place will make it incompatible
What's your exact model number?
yeah I get it, makes sense. not going to watercool anything tomorrow, just thinking long term, definitely a bucket list thing for me to do a loop
I can look at PCB pics on techpowerup to see if it's the same PCB
I just need the model number to do it
where would I find that?
I can send you the link to my exact GPU?
That'll work
is 32 gigs of ddr5 and 512 gigabytes of storage good? im guessing it is but still. (im coming from a 256 gig steam deck lcd)
A bit low on the storage but that should do for at least 5-10 games, depending on which ones
Cheaper and on the compat list https://www.formulamod.com/Bykski-GPU-Water-Cooling-Block-For-XFX-RX-6950XT6900XT6800XT-Speedster-Merc-319-Vastarmor-6950XT-A-XF6900XT-X-p3104516.html
its mainly a upgradable budget build so i might put in another 512 stick in later on to get a terabyte
Just double check which PCB you got according to the listing
Yep that'll do fine
1TB is $40 right now too
TEAMGROUP MP33 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive vs. Silicon Power A60 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive vs. Silicon Power P34A60 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Yeah that's the cheap/good ones
oh okay, im a couple bucks short so ill just get two 512 gig sticks because im guessing its the same
It's a few bucks more to do it that way but still a viable option
Just get 1 1tb
You'll regret that later, when you want more and you used the slots
There's no benefit to a whole separate drive in the budget context
ion got enough money though
Well if you intend to have 1TB then save for it
how many slots does my motherboard have? https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-b650m-gaming-plus-wifi-micro-atx-amd-b650-am5/p/N82E16813145502?tpk=1&item=N82E16813145502
im guessing 2
Correct 2
ok
well if i upgrade to two 512 ill be fine with a terabyte max since i dont play intense games
i play like undertale and roblox
so
I remember your 5600/6700xt for what was it, $450?
Why not get 1 512gb now
And add a second larger one later
^
Because in the future if you want beefier storage you'll have the option without having an ssd laying around
Looking for a ram for my laptop

Is Thermalright TF4 a serviceable thermal paste? Some came packed with the Thermalright coolers I ordered.
It's a reasonable cheap paste, works just fine in general
It's slightly worse than their tf7 paste, but that's on the scale of something like a 0.2c difference
So for an Intel i5 12400F running at stock clocks with a Thermalright Assassin X 120 it’ll should be sufficient?
Yep
As an aside, I’ve noticed that some MOBO power button cables don’t actually show which side is positive and negative. If it’s not printed, does the orientation matter?
The LEDs do show pos and neg. It’s just the power and reset buttons that don’t. The board documentation shows pos and neg so I just wanted to make extra sure.
I noticed the instructions had me orient the mount in such a way that the cooler base won’t fully cover the rectangular cpu. Is it worth rotating the mount 90 degrees for that extra coverage and if so how should I orient the cooler fan?
Top case is intake and rear is exhaust
This case doesn’t have front intakes.
That is quite the interesting case design lol. The cooler not contacting the edge of the IHS is a bit annoying but not too concerning, the die itself is centered so I don't foresee it being a big difference if it doesn't contact the edges of the IHS
So traditional orientation with the cooler blowing the same direction as the exhaust should be fine?
Also do PCIe Wi-Fi cards really need the heat spreaders they come with? I’m running into a clearance issue.
The cooler is pushing down against the audio header causing a slight bend.
Is there a channel for this or a place where they’re all saved?
500ish
Ask in either #windows-ios or #overclocking depending on your need
We save what's worth saving, the rest is pretty dynamic
Buttons just short the pins
Yes, the polarity is important on the board side or else you won't be able to short the pins
But no, buttons and switches are generally not directional, since all it does is press 2 contacts together to complete a circuit
Ideally, yes, they can get quite toasty
Also that's just a terrible placement of the audio header, you should try to find a 90° adapter for it, though it's also not too fragile and probably would be fine?
Generally yes or it will drop out in the middle of a large download from overheating. You could try bending it or cutting it where it's interfering.
This despite the fact that lots of PCIE net cards are sold without heat spreaders?
Those ones either don't use as much power or they're not meant for sustained transfers
Having owned one of those in the past I can say it's annoying when your connection cuts out and the wifi card disappears during a Steam download
@potent portal
You could drop down to a 8500G
Go used
You could go down to 16GB of ram, a lot of games don’t require 32gb
Newer games do though
8500G saves you $60 https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806959714543.html
i cant use ali
A 90 degree adapter wouldn’t work because the case is in the way.
So I guess the question is whether it’s better to bend/cut the spreader or trust that the bend won’t damage long term function.
to be perfectly honest
front panel audio isnt that good anyways in terms of quality, you would usually want to use the rear io audio for the best signal from the mobo dac, unless you get a external dac
Bending a few fins on the heatsink won't significantly impact the performance on a device like this
The important part is the extra thermal mass rather than any kind of active cooling
https://a.co/d/4CVTG4Q should i downgrade to ddr4?
or is it a giant decrease
@potent portal
Not physically possible
wdym
It won't fit
okay
@sage thunder it would lack further upgrades, but ddr4/am4 is fine for a budget build
12600K or 13400 would be decent budget options and you can use DDR4 on them without too much performance loss
is one stick of 16 gb fine or does it have to be two sticks
Two >
Set em up a list
so i should get 2 8gb sticks
1 stick of 16gb ddr4 would cost barely any less than 2 sticks of 8gb with a huge performance decrease due to it being single channel
Can't right now, getting called by the dentist
so 2 8gb?
so you save like a buck or 2 but lose so much performance by using 1 stick lmao
so yes, 2 sticks of 8gb
https://a.co/d/e3cRzga is this good?
hmm
doesnt ddr5 need a heat spreader or is it fine at those low speeds...
i have no clue
okay is there anything besides ram i can downgrade
No heat spreader is fine up to about 5600
i see
6000+ increases the voltage requirement
so should i get this
You can, and we can help you optimize the performance. All DDR5 is capable of doing at least 6000 speed pretty easily, as long as it's not Corsair which locks the voltage.
@sage thunder what’s your budget
Five hundo
500
ruh roh
should i go to 600 instead of 650 watts
At the same price no
It might be a good idea to have a little extra wattage
I have never heard of that brand in my life
Looked it up and it looks pretty middling
ok but does it seem good
Its hard to find info on it
dang so i shouldnt get it?
Its 50 dollars with the code if you buy it today
And its bacca approved
what code
It says on the page
oh ok
Its free ship too
yeah thats good thanks guys
Np
@sage thunder you okay with used?
I think that psu deal ends tomorrow btw
i would perfer amazon used or newegg used because then i pnly have to buy from two places
Did you need a gpu?
Oh
That was alr linked lmao
Ty
Theyre doing an 8600g build and they're gonna upgrade later
Was a very strict $500 budget
Oh lmao
@sage thunder can you buy from anywhere else? I can squeeze you about $100 for gpu
Their parents are being frustrating abt it
Dont know if its worth, could be better just to wait to upgrade
Originally they had found a 1080 for $110 or smthn like that and were going for an am4 build
Hes doing fairly light gaming atm, i think it makes sense to have a functioning build now
Most demanding game is marvel rivals iirc
Hmm
@mossy venture what’s the Vega 7 equal to?
Like a 1030 if not worse
Its pretty mid yeah
Tho 8600g idt stays at 1080p60fps
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, GeForce GTX 1650 G6, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
Boom
1650 :p
Not bad not bad
It’s the cheapest gpu I could find on Newegg that had a decent use
Idk their parents wouldn't let them buy either a cpu or gpu used, but they could do anything else used
Thats oddly picky
My parents don't even know enough about computers to discriminate those parts
@sage thunder would your parents trust Jawa.gg? It is reputable.
They could get a 1070 for $90 there
Or a 1660 super for $99
There’s a decent prebuilt on Jawa
This is my version just to free up some more money for gpu

b550/5600x or intel equivalent?
Budget for the whole build?
The rest of the build exists, just looking for cpu and motherboard upgrade for a friend of mine
between $200 and $250 ideally
Ah alright. What's the current build?
se214xt 2x120mm fan cooler, 32gb ddr4, 6750xt, 600w psu
looking for something that stays within this price range and doesnt need a new cpu cooler
This would be a bit better than the 5600/x
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mtd2Fg
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF
Thanks!
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600
If he wants it a bit cheaper
5600/x was good thinking
Any notable differences between these three on the h670
Performance wise nah it'll be the same, but the other two might have some extra ports and such
Yeah it'll be alright especially just for gaming
I remember the older i5s tended to heat up a lot but idk how they are now
If he's doing intensive multi core loads it'll get a bit toasty, but it can be swapped later on if needed
-# Riptide? Why would he say that, they play this on the radio?? That's messed up
"Riptede" 😂
Which would you recommend, the 12600kf route or 5600
12600kf is like 10% better depending on the game personally if prefer the extra perf
It's not end of the world to save the money tho
My solution to the net cards was to unscrew it, shift it up on the board and hold it down with a zip tie
This should leave room for the Audio header and as the sticky thermal pad is still making good contact, the spreader should still be doing its job
I love zipties
2 out of the 3 case fans in my current build are at least partially held in place with zipties
It does look like the header is still bending a little but hopefully it’s still less stress and I’ll advise the recipient of this gift to prioritize use of the rear audio out.
pmo
Huh?
Good pc build for 1k max
Do you know what pmo means?
Please goes a long way, first of all. Second, pmo means piss me off. Third, I'm not paid to help you.
Check your tone at the door and try again
Oh shi mb bro thats jus how we speak wit respect where im from but thats mb big bro
if u could please help me ou t
like put me on
thats what it means where im from
i apoligize tho fr
i rlly dident mean anythiung bads
acronyms have a lot of shared meanings, hmu (hit me up) would be a more widely used acronym
tbf "piss(es) me off" wouldnt really make sense in this context
yeah brodiie
mb fr
i aint mean nun crazy by it
yeah like sawcon
its jus how i speak but i will correct it for future refrences
Nah its my bad i was too harsh
have you gone to sawcon
Sorry
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6750 XT, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
Nah it’s good
Gpu pricing is kinda wack rn
Ummm ok ok yeah i’m selling my pc tomm
Thats what I'd go for at this budget though
Ok ok
i heard they have alot of wood there
7700xt was $400 until earlier tdy
If youd buy a used gpu that would be good
I feel like this is why acronyms and abbreviations should only be used when you first say what you mean by it and then put the acronym it abbreviation next to it in parentheses for future use.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
7800xt at $490 is great
Whats your current pc?
Example:
If I recall correctly (IIRC).
meh, you wouldnt need to do that for most abbreviations in texting
like, i'd hope you wouldnt need somebody to explain "lol"
dont buy the 3050
When I first heard of it I did.
nah u gucci
Pcmr?
Could technichally upgrade but I agree it's a good idea to just resell the whole thing
Non modular power supply units drive me insane.
i like semi modular
Semi makes sense at least because there are some cables that you know always will be used
Non modulars are fine as long as the cables are long enough
so this one i should get then
Like the 24 pin motherboard cables.
?
If they cheap out and make them too short then pain
ppl told me to sell and restart ngl
yeah there is some room for upgrades but since you have the budget, a new build would make sense
can go to am5 with ddr5
and be ready for a cpu upgrade w/e
sell complete
There could be some personal preference changes, like if you want a bigger case you can swap, or if you want a quieter cooler you can get one for $15-30, or if you have ethernet can save $20 on motherboard
honestly might be easier to sell if you part it out, though it will take more time
So this the pc i should get then
jus making sure
But yeah thats a great build
Nah ngl i dont rlly care to save a extra 20 or 30 i’ve been saving for a min for it
but i appreciate the effort
Yeah betty I got wifi adapters liek 3 of them so imma use that
Betty thanks brodie
imma buy friday or thursday
Np, feel free to ping me if any prices change or you have any questions
ye right before i buy imma ping u to see if it’s still best
will a antec c5 fit a ASRock B850 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AM5 AMD B850 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Motherboard
according to pcpartpicker yes
Is a 750W PSU good enough for the 9800X3D and a 2070 super?
Depends on the model, but general yeah
It's the founders edition
Model of psu
Uhhhh damn I don't remember ik it's Corsair maybe gold rated
Rm or rmx?
I don't think there's any bad corsair gold psus
The only meh psu they have is the CV and that's bronze
Rmx
Oh really
Yeah the rmx is fantastic
I was planning on upgrading to probably a 4080 or sum later on
I'd like to say 4090/9800x3d but I've only seen it tested with the 7800x3d
Only a 40w or so diff between the two tho
just bought my pc parts!! i wanna thank everyone who helped me and u probably wont see me until it all gets here lmao

Did the full reset, getting a bit more frames but still not holding close to 240, around 180-200
Maybe just time to upgrade from the 4 year old parts?
Did you wipe the ssd or just "Windows reset"
If you did the latter, yeah it won't improve much cos resetting a bunked install will just carry over registry corruption and bloat
Is the RM1200x a good PSU? Amazon has a one that's refurbished in excellent condition for $149.
Oh HELL YEAH
for 149???
IMO immediate scoop
230 new in box
Oh really?
I just need to get some more clients closed for work then my plan is to scoop that and a QHD 240hz OLED at $350
K so the model is a Corsair RM1200x Shift.
80+ gold with a side interface
that's the newest
It can be handy in like
dual-chamber cases
But annoying in traditional towers
When did the Shift ones come out again?
2025 RM1000e is more than enough for your system needs btw Alpha
2023?
Shift has never been on my radar
It's an upsell to just rotate the pcb plugs
Doesn't do anything else
I still have every plan to upgrade to the 5090 or whatever I can afford once I can finally get around to it.
5090 is fine
If I have 0 issues rn on a 600W 4090 you'll have no problem on a 1000W either
Even on a 1000w with spikes and everything?
Wiped, did what you said. Windows media creation on usb
How much did it improve
Rough guess
Only like 10fps
Yes
I need to turn PBO off on my CPU by going with 1,000W?
Running stock + XMP?
Never said need, said may
Everything else is stock
Actually I worded it wrong, sorry
Didn’t touch anything else yeah
Fascinating that you're doing better than the paid optimisation already lmao
Next step would probably be RAM and CPU OC if you're up for it
GPU OC will get you a little too
We can help with that
I'd like the peace of mind and ability to upgrade in the future so would 1,200W be warranted?
There won't be any cheat sheet tho, it's a whole learning process
I really doubt Nvidia would push more wattage next gen
I like to mess around and tune my components as you are probably aware.
I doubt that, I mean on CPU.
600W already has people complaining profusely
I mean I've run much worse on 1000W
I've seen 5090 spikes, I still think you can make 1000W work
If you can make 750 work with a 4090, I'm pretty sure 1000 can work on a 5090
He didn’t wipe my drive, made another partition on it and installed a second windows for gaming on it. That’s why im guessing it wasn’t as good
How much would a capable 1,000W vs +1,200W cost?
Lmfaoooo
Good 30% increase in price iirc
Kinda blegh
Anyway Vlad, I reckon your next steps is OC
Play some safe numbers, not too aggressive
Cos too far and it'll get slower
Which is what I believe is what happened to you
would I need to make sure my PSU can allow it? 700W so there’s almost no room
3070 oc 10850k
Uses like 600w last time I checked
Which 700W?
Evga gold 80+
Hold up
EVGA 700W GQ Power Supply, 80 PLUS GOLD, Semi-Modular, 120mm FDB Fan, 2x EPS, 4 x PCI-E (6P+2P), 8x SATA, 3x Molex, 2x Floppy at Scorptec.com.au, the online Gaming PC, server computer and technology experts. Fast delivery to Australia.
This
Yeah good spot tbh
You'll want a new one
OR
You power limit the 10850K pretty hard
How much difference will overclocking cpu and ram make anyway? I’ve never done this before, just in rough terms
Depending on how good you are at it, considering it's fortnite, up to like 60% tbh
14nm Intel scaled crazy well with overclocking
In my experience about 6% on average.
On AMD though.
Gtg now
You could just limit the CPU power, then just do ram and GPU Vlad
That would cover quite a lot imo
But ideally the CPU as well
Yeah done GPU but it’s just pointless for Fortnite
Ye cos it's cpu and ram limited
Back everything up before you begin
Or just cpu?
Ram will do a lot
RAM > CPU imo
A conservative overclock would be quite productive
Fresh windows nothing to back up 😂
Hey man just checking lol
Ahah appreciate you making sure
Lol
For starters
I would do a fair bit of reading
It's going to be
REALLY complicated
Take the time to understand a little bit first
And we always use the bios
And test with good software
This is a whole book
But covers a hell of a lot
Try and read as much as you can
Then jump into the #overclocking chat and with the help of a few of our guys you'll be slowly adjusting your way up to a good tune
Appreciate it
In cpu+ram limited situations just doing the ram can give a mega boost, and you don't even need to pick the extreme numbers
Just "Safe" as the guide puts it
is HUGE
So don't think you're missing much going safe
All good mate, sadly this is the reality for one trick "Overclocking" services on the most part
Idk that fortnite dude but it already sounds like he did more harm than good
Take your time with this, on and off for a couple weeks, before you know it you'll be creeping up fps little by little

Rome wasn't built in a day as the saying goes
I gotta dip but feel free to drop more questions in chat, I'm not the only egghead here, just one of the good ones (Apparently lol)
nah u suck
get out
Be prepared, this can take a about 1-2 weeks to get initial clocks stable on the surface and a few more weeks to make sure everything is truly stable.
It'll take a long time to learn but if you know what you're doing you can pump out something pretty simple in a couple days tbh
The closer to the edge of stability you go, the exponential increase in stability testing really needed cos you find things are a lot more sensitive and annoying

just realized it'd be 110$ but i'm keeping my eye out on it
Just wish that other lenovo was on sale
That's if you want features like overclocking
If you can find a z board cheaper than h/b then it wouldn't hurt to get
Id much rather a 13600k/kf on a b660 than a 12600k on a z690
Amazon's own seller price is marked up so high for the 13600k 😭
14400f or 12700kf?
They're about the same price on amazon
I heard about some problems with the newer gen intel chips but im not really sure what that was about
Either they're both only a tiny bit better than the 12600kf
Youre the person who's friend is just upgrading cpu/mobo right?
Yeah, on ddr4
We're looking at this board: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BQWR37J4
Supports 13th Gen & 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Processors (LGA1700) 7+1+1 Power Phase, Dr.MOS for VCore+GT Supports DDR4 5333MHz (OC) 2 PCIe 4.0 x16, 1 PCIe 4.0 x1, 1 M.2 Key E for WiFi Graphics Output Options: HDMI, DisplayPort Realtek ALC897 7.1 CH HD Audio Codec, Nahimic Audio 4 SATA3, 2 Hyper M.2 ...
Think that might be a bit too far out of their price range
I meant neither*
Not either
Id stick to the 12600kf or way to upgrade to ddr5 personally
I think we'll rock with the 12600kf then, value seems pretty good
14400f and 13400f are just a 12600kf with no overclocking, lower wattage and a stock cooler
Np
yo brodie so i was picking out the parts cause im buying tonight or tomm
Isint the swift better and it’s only 4 buck diff rn
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
this the link u told me btw
jus in case u forget pls
The mp44Q is better than the L
Not sure why "swift" and "superb" are there but you can see that "superb" refers to the mp44Q
Amazon is weird sometimes
On a scale of Swift to Superb how would you rate yourself
I would say I'm Super, which is just a little bit less than Superb
Yeah it’s thanks tho
Oh the psu price went up
Which is better?
Upgradability wise the 850w will give you more headroom later, quality wise theyre abt the same
Np
my liquid cooler has fabric tube and I accidentally put thermal past on it is there anyway I can remove it... its white tubes with a spot of gray
maybe with some ipa? though that might damage the tubes since it's a solvent
Oh
So only way is to get a new one
What’s the difference between asrock b850 vs x870 steel lengend
It’s a $50 difference the only thing I saw was usb4 points better WiFi
yeah you get pretty much all the features you would need on the b chipsets
How much are they?
Is it the b850m pro rs?
270 for x870
Jesus
Asrock B850 Steel Legend WiFi Motherboard
Hard pass from me
210 for b850
Oh you want white and ATX right?
Yeah
I'd stick to the steel legend
Both are
I don't see any better choices
Oh lol
The b850
There's this, but black pcb
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HkTFf7/asrock-b850-pro-rs-atx-am5-motherboard-b850-pro-rs
Could go for any of them, you really won't feel a difference
This does give you pcie 5.0 and another nvme slot ig
yeah but Im deciding on fully white or just keep on old mobo
which is the ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard
will there be any difference if I buy the 210 b850 mobo?
Performance wise no
Feature wise, couple extra ports, better ram tuning, other than that not much comes to mind
I still recc the b650m pro rs for 9800x3d/7800x3d whenever possible, it's a nice mobo
alright I will stick with the b650m, since there isn't no performance differnce + it would be a hassile to remove everything and replace it back
The red LED, the HDD light I think, is blinking incessantly and I am not sure why.
Most cases that's just an activity/usage indicator
So if the drive is reading/writing it'll blink
It does that at idle on desktop
mine does too
Just because it's "idle" doesn't mean it's not doing anything
yo brodie can u give me a prebuilt that’s 1k or maybe a lil over
Cause the person that was gone build the other might not be able too
I just wanna compare and see how much i coulda saved or how much more performance i coulda gotten
U always prefer building your own right?
If you'd follow a yt tutorial it isn't too difficult but I can take a look
Yeah you lose value going pre built
Around 1.1-1.2k is where pre builts get decent value, aside from refurbished options
does anybody have a pc suggestion
Umm ok ok dam
aii
I'm really not finding anything that's solid value
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16883360528?Item=N82E16883360528
yeah nah i might jus pay someone to build it for me
This is refurb, better cpu and gpu but you'll need to swap ram, and you will not have much of an upgrade path
https://www.ebay.com/itm/156428651204?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=92chrSivS8C&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=r8em-zv_qyc&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Wouldent that be better they charge what 50 maybe
Oh alr
Yeah also brodie
$50-150
400 is great
For you anyways lmao
Cpu-60
Ram-20
Ssd-10 if that
Case- 10-20
Mobo-40-40
Psu-30 or so
Gpu- 125-150 id guess
W
😝😝😝
I thought it was ass for my side he was gone buy it for 475 but i lowered cause i jus wanna get rid of it but im still winning 🙏🏽❤️
amen
Yeah you def got the better end of the deal
Betty he just being mad sus tho ngl
500 gets you a 12400f/5700xt or 3060 set up
asking what type of wifi i got n shi
Hes prolly just not very knowledgeable with pcs
Yeah he sus tho
What site you selling it on?
