if the server is connected to your account but is unavailable then there might be a connection issue. plex only works within house via direct play but outside of host network requires port forwarding and the connection can be finicky if not set up correctly

So what we did was throw all the wire into the attic, then go up there and start walking it to our LV drop panel and pick up wires on the way. So we'd be pulling like up to 50 wires at once, and if you had to go around a bend you'd have to be real careful not to get stuck cause the wires don't like the bends and get stuck, and if you got stuck you now have to walk back 50 wires and hope they don't get tangled, all while dealing with the excruciating heat of Texas in a closed off attic lol

I've never once wore any hard hat of any kind lol. I just had a basic cap from Walmart and sunglasses

plus in the older attics, there was lots of fiberglass that's itchy as heck

The best is when you're drilling up into the top plate of a wall and the drill catches and just slams your hand into a nail that didn't make it into the stud. I can't tell you how many times I did that lol

I finally realized that gloves were worth the dexterity trade-off

if you gotta drill above your head, long sleeves are a must

At first I'd wear my hoodie for metal but then once it hit summer I just got over it

they're really hot for sure but it's one of those things that was worth forcing yourself to get used to

Lol my biggest problem is that I would forget to take water breaks cause I wanted to get it over with

I had it good on trim days cause I'd make my helper do all the plates and stuff, I'd maybe install the cameras, then just set up in the low voltage closet, turn on a book, and just sit there and put it all together. It was easy af

The cameras depended on my helpers skill level. They should be able to do all the plates and camera's and some of the alarm stuff by the time I finish the panels, but that didn't always happen lol

We all got along pretty well so it was fun. Most days I had at least 1 helper.

There is but I ran under my bosses license so I never got one

You can do that in electrical too

But from what I have seen it's not as common

Yeah there's a few licences you need here for what I did. Lv, alarm, and fire were all separate licenses

you know what was rough? working during COVID doing all those fun, hot things with a mask on

I remember doing a wire pull with a mask on cuz the residents were whining that apparently we were spreading the g-virus in a PARKING GARAGE

Lol I started there like right at the end of covid and just didn't wear a mask.

I tried not to cuz it made everything hotter & rebreathing all that CO2 wasn't nice lol

My boss was a covid denier so he never made us and I wasn't about to do that with a mask on

Then when I got covid he said Wear a mask when in the office and take it off at the job site. He just made it to where I'd be at the job site by myself which was nice
