Fine be me honestly as long as I can hear better in gaming, though I do need find a good mic with sound isolation
But those are considerably more expensive
Youre on PC right
Using it on PC I mean
Ya, I mean I’m willing to pay 50-80$ for one but I wanna test these and return if in case
Ya I’m PC
Alright, there are quite a few decently priced options then for dedicated mics
USB microphones for music recording offer plug-and-play ease of use. Connect your audio microphone for recording to your computer and get great sound quality right away. The cardioid condenser microphone provides clear sound to elevate your recordings, vocals and music singing to fuller heights. ...
I was linked these two awhile ago, couldn’t find it except for it sitting in my saved for later
Would the first one be a better choice? Situation is open room with a brother who screams on rainbow 6 at a daily basis about 10 feet behind me.
Drowning him out would be a priority
i would honestly recommend dynamic mics for people with less than ideal acoustic environments
though most voice comms have noise cancellation
though, dynamic mics need to be placed close to your mouth
I really don’t have the ideal desk space for a dynamic mic, and I know there’s arms but same with that 😭
Arm clamp would have to be MASSIVE at the least, and not bump into the small space im given for my desk.
pros of dynamic mics
- less environmental noise
- usually quite drop/shock resistant
cons: - requires mic to be placed close to the mouth
pros of condenser mics
- better at picking up noise from further away
cons - better at picking up noise from further away
- a little bit less robust than dynamic mics, though shouldnt break from day to day use
monitor arm is the only way to get a mic on my desk lmao
i basically perpetually have a wheel mounted on my desk in front of me
I got this really old desk my mom has kept for whatever reason, it’s a 52 by 30 by 9.5in and the way it’s shaped for the depth is kinda awkward to have any clamp really
honestly you should go for an option with a monitor arm
more freedom in where and how to position it, and you can swing it out of the way if it is in the way
though these cheaper arms creak quite a bit while adjusting, though you wouldnt be doing that often so it's an ok compromise
Like straight up buying a monitor arm to mount the mic in?
Excuse the mess
OH
i didnt even notice LMFAO
brain went to autopilot 😭
i genuinely have no clue why i said monitor arm
i gotta say though, my mic is not idea for playing any racing or driving game with a mic on at the same time
there is not enough room for my hands to properly use the wheel without hitting the mic lmfao
Best photo of what my current desktop is..
Ya
So unless there’s a clamp that’s about 10 inches thick, can handle a slight angle within the desk, I won’t be getting an arm
that's like the type of table you would use like a quill and dip ink to write on 😭
Oh its some desk alright
it definitely looks like it's a solid desk
My parents went with a “theme” for the desks, drawers and tables here
It’s really hallow in the inside, like it has a single glass panel in the middle
Otherwise just a bulky desk
But ya I have 0 desk space
what is on your left
would you be able to move it elsewhere so you can have more space lmao
that lamp is taking like 1/8 of your table space 💀
There is no space for a lamp downstairs or upstairs unfortunately 😭
oh
Cause the other “desk space” we got was on top of these drawers
at what point do you just buy one of those folding table to use for your gaming setup LMFAO
But they have these two big speakers with and a recorder player, then it’s box of records aside
So ya I might aswell
Or I do the ultimately taboo
Put my pc on the floor
is it carpeted
Well
It’s uneven in that EXACT area because it used to be two separate rooms
But people back before my parents bought the house tore down the wall
And funny enough, quick job, uneven floor right there
It’s kinda like a crease almost
Otherwise ANY other area is pretty much flat
so a few things you could do is get a smaller keyboard (would be useful for your case of having such little desk room)
or you can buy one or diy a pc stand so that you free up desk room, and still have your pc elevated off the ground enough to not suck up every fiber of your carpet
or you could do both
Well I might hold off buying the microphone and IEMs for now then
well, the iems could be fine, but the mic really doesnt have much room to place reasonably and not interfere
numpad would likely be in the way of putting the mic properly
Well the thing is I might get a new desk, I might not. I don’t want to spend for a pc stand n all just to have more than enough room after a month or so, plus I think I might setup my closet as a actual closet/pc area if that makes sense.
Do you think the headset + IEM idea will work? 😭
fair
it could, but honestly i would just stick with just the headset lmao
though all you need to do is set the output to your iems, and to set the input to your headset mic
and then it would work
but because of comfort, it may not be worth it
you are welcome to try though
actually, if you have some earbuds currently
you could try that
I do have AirPods and the wired earbuds
try with the wired earbuds
or try with both
though the way you wear iems are often a bit different to how normal earbuds and airpods are worn
many iems have the wire coming out the top, so you loop the wire around your ear... flap? idk what the name of it is LMFAO
yeah that's the name 😭
honestly
with the wired earbuds
doesn't feel bad at all
just not used to wrapping the cable around my ear
wire may be a bit thicker on the iems, so it may differ a bit
i should note that my iems are a bit more conventional in the wiring, as the wire goes straight down pretty much
so it's extra uncomfortable since it sticks out a bit more than the usual iems, and also is a bit more pointy
not my image, but they stick out like this
Flexible Control Individual level control knob for each output allowing flexible control for different headphones or speakers. Excellent Sound Quality This compact 4 channel amplifier can hold 4 pairs of headphones & maintain the clarity of sound. Build Like A Tank Sturdy with a metal housing, th...
Is this a decent DAC?
The worst DAC in existence
Because it's not a dac
It is only an amplifier
It's probably a decent amplifier for headphones though
Lol
😭
Well
I got my Waners and I’ll say the box is majestic
Like they probably paid more manufacturing the box design than the earbuds itself
It’s got that smooth coat feeling
So I have to say
This microphone is actually equal, perhaps even better than my headset.
yeah, headset mics arent known for their quality
you have to get those like $400 broadcasting headsets that commentators use for something decent
Waners are the best iems I've ever used (budget wise). Nice choice
^
Again, your kraken set was ass
Lmfao
omg you swore!!!
but ya it was pretty bad
How would I adjust the sounds on these exactly?
Like treble/bass, I know there isn't a software but just like a windows equalizer in settings or smth
equalizer apo
i like using peace to control that
ty
@lost scarab just bare in mind, what you probably adjusted to on the kraken would be way off kilter with neutral hearing
So don't change them to sound more like the kraken's cos those are a terrible reference
no that's understandable, just the treble and base i'm trying to increase a little bit
it sounds a bit flat and I couldn't hear the footsteps still while playing CS2 (I might be deaf tbh)
Kraken might've made you deaf tbh
all I could hear was the gun go off across the map
but not the dude behind me making footsteps
I will smack talk them all day, they sound cool, but krakens are fundamentally awful lmao
What krakens?
ya
They're like 80% bass 20% treble 0% mids
I owned 3 pairs
I know what they sound like ☠️
😭
Take some time to adjust to the new set
I would try and keep as close to stock as you can
Work towards the normal profile of them
Krakens do weird stuff with spatial audio tuning as well, turn the headset into like
Cheap free headphone on airplane mode
So all you hear is treble and the almost non existent mids
Gotta detox the bad razer sounds off lol
do what like
ghosty does
or whoever it was again
lower the bass, listen to music for a few hours
put it back and then it will sound bassy
i remembered the completely wrong person
When you listen to nothing but bass boosted garbage cans you do get used to it
I was wondering what kind of fish this was and realized you werent talking about that bass
HAHA
Razer fish
RGB and plays nothing but bass notes
Obviously naturally water cooled
Compatible with Razer Chroma
Arbiter Studio x Vancer Akitsu
bit too dark
mmm, maybe just this monitor. main monitor it seems fine
guys I just plugged my IEMs into my audio interface and it's showing up in my Windows as a speaker how do I make it recognize it as headphones?
Can't
You can configure the speakers to run the audio correctly by right clicking
It won't change them to headphones
The loaded driver in the device you're using is headphones
Yeah but I hear weird sounds and when I hear music I hear the instrument more than the singer I think it's bec they are recognized as a speakers
and this jack is for headphone not speakers
The driver is hard-coded, changing it to headphones in the driver won't do anything
It'll sound the same regardless, the sounds you'll be hearing is gonna be something else
Such as the iems or the device you plugged into having a different sound signature
Or the codec used in the device has that type of quality to begin with and the previous headphones had a way different neutral sound
Which, if compared against an iem, likely a worse neutral sound
Like over the top bass for example
so the issue is with the audio interface right? will get a DAC and amp work? I plan to buy a DT990, and I thought the audio interface would work fine
Depends what codec is in it and if it has an amp at all
Not something I'd know, google and reviews would
A DT990 makes significant improvement with a DAC+Amp so, I would consider that if you intend to pick them
so the codec in my IEMs are different from the audio interface and the dt990 right?
The codec is what changes the signal to be sent to your audio device
Think of it like a language interpreter
So headphones don't have one, sorry my language may have confused them together a bit
so will something like this AMP and DAC work with the dt990 and my IEMs which I think 3.5 jack or 4.4
I think that one is supposed to be somewhat good
Look up topping dx3+pro
Personal favourite of mine, always gets a good reception with audio fanatics when I mention it
But it's very affordable
u mean this one? it's a bit expensive 🙂
ya double the price
but can i hear the different between them or it's just amp and dac?
As long as you pick a good one (or pair) then it'll sound good
Dac+amp makes very clear audio
Like cloudy water to clear water, type of thing
DT990 needs an amp especially because the drivers need a lot of power to run well
i mean between this and the dx3+pro for my IEMs and dt990 250
Oh, you mean one or the other?
I don't know what iems they are, nor do I know the interface
I wouldn't be the guy to ask for the opinion on that one
Not knowledge enough sorry
but it's weird that my IEMs must be compatible with the amb and Dac and the dt990 will be good with ether of them
Dt990 will want both
Iem will work with the same kit ye
It'll plug into the same headphone jack as anything else
yes but will it work or i will have the same problem that I have with my audio interface?
Clarify the issue for me
You hear other things more than you hear normal things yes
Like it's the same audio, just sounds different ye
when I watch a video on youtube that has music in the background and someone talking I hear the music more than the guy who is talking same with music I hear the instrument more than the singer
I can hear everything normal then
Then the interface just has a poor codec or poorly tuned codec, or maybe even just a poor performing one
You can try tune the interface by using an equaliser on the speaker driver
But it's more like a bandaid than a fix at that point
Working out to somehow change it to say headphones instead of speakers won't do anything tho, the driver is the driver
It'll play the audio the same regardless
So the answer will be not to use the interface to plug into, either the pc itself, or a dac+amp
If you don't want to spend much, an apple usb-c to audio jack adapter is $7 USD
But those won't be nearly strong enough for many headphones
Or iems
That includes the DT990
You'll want something much stronger
yeah but dac+amp will solve all of my problems and i can use it for both my iems and the dt990 250 right?
Ye
Or you could pick another headset instead of the 990's, you could get away with just plugging straight into the computer if you're not looking to spend a ton right now
If you went DT990 I'd insist on a DAC+Amp tho
Your iems might prefer them too but idk the model
Some iems improve with the same treatment
Others just need a dac and not all that extra power
ya I have hyper x cloud 2 that I have had for over 7 years now and i will get DAC and amp now for my IEMs and later I will get the dt990 and then i can use the DAC and Amp for both of them
TRUTHEAR x Crinacle ZERO:RED
Mmm I don't know those
You could ask around to find someone who does know if they prefer it
The dac at least will improve most if not all headsets over motherboard audio
i mean yah but i will buy DAC and Amp for the dt990 250 so why not plug my iems into it
but all kinds of DAC and Amp should work fine with both of them i mean I will not have the same problem?
You wouldn't no
Rather
If you have any expectations of what things sound like now
Abandon it
Cos a good dac and amp will teach you what sounds good with a good headset
That'll be your new standard lol
i hope so :))
If you find any that seem good, pop the question in here and someone might tell you
Happened to everyone I know who made the switch
Myself included lol
windows showing something as speakers or headphones changes nothing
for instruments being louder than the singers, that would be an issue with the mastering of the music
my schiit also is reported as speakers
windows doesnt change anything acoustically, it's just visual
you can rename the device, and change the icon as well
e.g.
same problem with youtube videos the background music and Spotify music
then it would be some unrelated issue to the windows reporting it as a speaker then
honestly im not too sure how only the instruments would be clearer/louder than vocals since audio in videos and songs are often only stereo, and not seperated into stems so the instruments could be adjusted in volume
I tried to plug my IEMs into the back of my motherboard and I got good sound but it was a bit noisy I think this happened because Windows identified them as speakers I encountered the same noise issue when using an audio interface but with that problem However my front panel works great i think bec they were headphone at the time
realtek asks if you plug in speakers/line in or headphones, and has different gain levels in that case
but windows itself doesnt change anything
iems are generally more sensitive than over ears and such, so high self noise on the mobo amps usually is much more noticeable
Could try eqing it
It's possible that realtek is boosting the higher frequencies and the interface isn't
yo wtf is this box. i felt as though the vmse was the best unboxing for mice but idk if this can be topped
100% that's not the issue lol its something with the software, the mix or the physical hardware
that box is crazy
$400 for a macropad is obscene
407 already bought is crazy
i uhh definitely didn't buy a 300usd macropad not too long ago
But it's modularrrrr
Didn't Elgato just make accessories for their streamdeck that also accepts a mic input and a hub
anyone know where I can get left click replacement for my model D wireless
fortunately the whole thing didnt come out just a piece I dont think it will need welding
Looks like they use Huano switches https://www.amazon.com/KSTZGTA-Original-Switch-Button-Million/dp/B0D1KNHJTF?th=1

Greens are the stock one but you could upgrade it to the pinks theoretically
Soldering you mean
Very different
Welding and soldering are quite different
yea i forgor
tysm 🙏
I need mouse/keyboard suggestions
Will be gaming, won't be the only thing I use them for though
Budget?
Probably like $300
id spend likew
damn mouse and keyboard
dude you have so many options
i would spend 1 morbillion dollars on a keyboard and 5 dollars on a mouse
at that point just invest in razer equipment, be basic and secure
yeah they are
theres better options
keyboard not so much
i have a razor keyboard and can confirm that they arent any better than the cheaper options and definitely are not better than the more expensive options
though i gotta say, mine has lasted quite a long time
question tho
Numpad?
if you use it
like i do
some people be like "i've never touched the numpad in my life"
meanwhile me: 7355608
In summary, Razer mouse (like Viper v3 pro or Deathadder for bigger)
Keyboard: Not my forte but i hear epomaker and corsair are fine
I'm not huge on numpads, doesn't really matter to me
In fact for the sake of desk space probably not
thats fine. probably want a 75% keyboard
again, corsair and epomaker have em
a good gaming keyboard now should have rapid trigger
well it's mostly useful in shooters and fighting games but considering how cheap they are without compromising elsewhere
perhaps
its adjustable tho right? my cousin said that typing was awkward with rapid trigger
yeah
i have a profile set lower for when im just typing
and then a sensitive one for games that need it
https://epomaker.com/products/ajazz-ak832-pro @gaunt forge @glass bear thoughts?
As Slim As Portable Ajazz AKC087 keyboard comes with low-profile switches that can be 20%-30% lower than regular ones, as a result, low-profile keyboards features more portable, faster trigger, and lighter keypress than regular mechanical keyboards. As a 75% keyboard, Ajazz AK832 Pro houses the necessary 81 keys with a
this isnt rapid trigger
its alright for a keyboard
theres a good atk keyboard with rapid trigger
here's a list of he boards if youd like
if you dont care about the typing experience just get a wooting
unless u need a low profile keyboard for sum reason theres better options of the price
Could u help me find something?
And/or maybe I take a different mouse than the viper v3 pro? My hard cap is $2500, i'm around $2050 without monitor keyboard and mouse. Would like to get a 240hz monitor if possible but i'm not tripping if I can't fit it.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QZNjPF
Was suggested these monitors probably going to go with the MSI or Dell dependent on cost of M&KB
Part List
If you really want cheaper, the ATK X1 on vgnlabs is 60$
Same viper shape but cheaper
And lol you just missed out on 180$ Samsung oddessy
Unfort

What do u think abt that vs viper v2 pro
v2 is shorter in height
v3/X1 has less curvy sides so you can easily hold it with your fingertips
X1 is prob more comfortable then?
Do u kno ur hand size
18.5x10cm
go for it
i actually dont have a budget but I dont like spending over 100 on a mouse
(tho I bought way more mice than i need)
Hey! Could anyone recommend me a good mic, and an arm to go with it? Budget would be 100-150 usd. Would use it for general purposes, like gamin, talking and maybe streaming from time to time
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYLSDQ9H

Note that this type of dynamic mic needs to be close to your mouth (similar to how most podcasters do it)
If you want a mic further away (out of camera frame), you need to acoustically treat your room, and a condenser microphone may be a better choice, perhaps a shotgun mic for more keyboard noise rejection

I don't have any experience with this arm, but for the price it's currently at, and the reviews seemingly being mostly positive, it couldn't hurt to try
Can someone recommend wireless earbuds ~€50 price range, so far options are samsung buds FE, sony wf c500/c510
moondrop has a couple decent ones
theyre a really good in ear monitor company that also dabbles in tws
ill check em out thanks
know anything about the space travel earbuds?
those are the $25 ones right
yeah
ive heard pretty good things about them, reviews were good too
ah found a sound guys review of them thanks
np
oof the case and lack of IP rating may be a dealbreaker :/
they have a pair around $40 too i think
oh yeah they arent waterproof
or at least not rated i guess
next step up i see is like 80€

for $50
you not theo tho
shenzhenaudio.com: professional headphone, earphone, amplifier, dac, decoder, hifi player, cable supermarket. you will find good price here.
dont seem like theyre available her for some reason
yeah
shenzhen audio is good though if you wanna buy it from there
had to get an rma done for something and they were pretty quick with it
3-6 weeks is yikes for shipping plus, could have to pay import tax on them on top of that unfortunately
youre not us are you
nope ireland :D
hence using euro prices lol
probs gonna go with the skullcandy dime 3
skullcandy makes good headphones?
wow
news to me too lol
same tbh lol
Huh
Loved having those
These are the pair I use, there's a model that's hybrid wired and wireless
I also have a pair of hyperx cloud stingers(?) That I use for gaming
honestly quite a few over ear wireless headphones have the ability to use it wired
oh
can you vouch for the stability of these earbuds? do they stay in the ears when, per se, laying down?
nah but they have good reviews
not to mention everyone's ears are shaped differently
me personally I just bit the bullet and got galaxy buds 3 pros
i've found the tips help way more than the model for fitting in
i just bought some memory foam tips after trying a few that worked well til i lost them
both help
my buds pro 2 had a terrible fit
helped to get memory foam tips but it was still bad compared to airpods or
samsungs airpods
lol
They delayed the master hub another 3 months
rip samsung buds
whats the best site to get airpods specifically the pro 2s ive been looking around but im not sure
I mean there is apple, best buy, microcenter probably, basically any tech retailer or nyc hustler you find on the street
college campus' also sell apple products often
oh okay thanks
would this be a steal or nah: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-geek-squad-certified-refurbished-airpods-pro-2nd-generation-with-magsafe-case-usbc-white/6562127.p?skuId=6562127
It’s fine
alr
oh
that's an awful lot of buttons
You don't need it
?theo
You're already deaf enough
!remindme Next week when Theo has buyer's remorse
hmm
I have an issue where when I use my airpods with my pc they play normally but they can sudden with no sign change to a robotic audio/stereo idk why
do they sound really tinny?
on my galaxy buds pro 3, the sound quality on pc gets real bad if i use the mic at the same time
idk what you mean
i just found out that airpods are not compatible with pc at all only with apple devices
they work on pc as well as android, though you need an apple device to use all the features
sound quality ususally drops when it tries to switch to handsfree mode (basically some app is trying to use the mic)
usually you can fix this by disabling the handsfree audio device
Hey, I'm surprising the wife with a good controller took hook up to PC for her birthday. She will likely play Elden Ring or Red Dead Redemption 2 at first on it, but refuses to use a keyboard/mouse.
Any particular suggestions? She is a gamer and kind of OCD so want to get her something decent.
hard to say,
some people like different controller shapes
i personally prefer the official xbox controllers because 1. i'm more used to it and 2. it fits my hand pretty much perfectly
Tried to do some research, it just seems like everyone says the best overall controller are any Xbox wireless controller, but then I see these extremely high rated ones for like $200-300.
Just looking for an overall good buy, but don’t want to cheap out either.
On the cheaper side there's the 8bitdo Ultimate 2C. It's got Hall effect triggers and sticks, 1000Hz polling rate, very low input latency, and extra shoulder buttons, all for $30.
It's cheap but it doesn't have that cheap feature set
Appreciate this, but mentioned that I wasn't trying to cheap out. Wifes bday gift 🙂
If there isn't a better suggestion I'll just get the Xbox wireless one, but figured there was maybe a better alternative out there for a little more
xbox if you want TOTAL compatibility on windows
playstation dualsense if you end up playing plenty of playstation titles for their gimmick features
if you also get a wireless one you better hope it comes with the wireless reciever or if your pc has bluetooth pre-installed on the board
and hope you have rechargable batteries and charger

While it is cheap, it's better than most console controllers by far due to the Hall effect things.
Plus internal rechargeable battery which is another rarity at that price.
So whats the deal with this F710 that seems way ahead? Only $40
Lower number is better here
The F710 is famously the controller used on the submarine that had a bunch of millionaires on it and sank
Interesting and does it have problems with Windows compatibility? This Ultimate 2C? Like why would someone want Xbox Wireless vs that
Oh and is there any accessory that maybe I should consider buying with the 2C since it's much less expensive than I expected
Xbox controllers are universally supported and that's the only argument for them that makes any sense
The 2C comes with a low latency wireless receiver
Forgive my ignorance, but what will that mean for someone who will use this for any PC or Switch games?
Like some games won't work with it?
By universal support I mean any PC game that supports a controller typically uses the Xbox key layout by default
So on screen instructions will say to press the Y key and such
Well programmed and modern games won't have any issues at all using the extra buttons, but older games might not recognize them
Oh ok, she pretty much plays only new games
I know having a few extra keys can be a godsend in Elden Ring
Maybe a skin would be good to add to it
Doesn't seem like there are really any for this specific model
But I do see a pink version of the controller that will just have to do, hopefully its bright pink enough for her 😛
Appreciate the help on that. Got extra budget now, so guess I'm going to have to think of something else thoughtful to go with this lol
it's the thought that counts, not how much you spend
maybe with the extra budget, you can grab 2 so you can play together on some co-op games
The features on this controller are crazy good for the price. It's more comparable to $100 controllers.
Don't say how much you spent and if she asks just play it off
Let her figure out how much she thinks you spent
Of course, just more of a pc keyboard/mouse guy so wasn’t sure if there were other things involving this to pair up with. Will think of something else separate of peripherals 🙂
Appreciate the help!
when i watch a yt video it pauses if my audio device is "Speaker (Razer Kraken V4 - Game)"
yooo wait, pulsar actually might be cooking
carbon metal alloy fingertip mouse
ooop wait, launch in 2025, sadge
I swear this carbon stuff isn't even worth it
g wolves rolling nearly everyone in weight with like straight plastic
just depends on how its used but rn nothing much seems to be good. but also with gwolves their numbers are great but their build quality seems to be really hit or miss
it used to be pretty bad
I think its respectable now
but also having more fingertip mice in the market would be nice
ive been meaning to try one
the htr doesn't look bad
but also my mouse is already 39g
is going lighter going to help? Idk
also ngl i do NOT
want to deal with g wolves support
ye my first pulsar x2 v1 was good for like a month and then had problems with the scroll wheel encoder but they were cool and helpful with figuring out the problem and then replacing the entire mouse
havent heard anything good about their customer service
Ik razer products are contreversial which is why i am asking which razer products are best and worst? Are their mice and keyboards good? But headsets bad or what?
Blackwidow 75% v4 basically the only good one I'm aware of for boards
Headsets all pass
Like, don't bother, pass
The mice are overall very good, especially the very new sensors on 2022+
The rest including the headsets, don't bother
mousepads are alright from them depending on what youre looking at
at the time of its release, their glass pad was good and the cheapest on the market. razer strider is good for a decent speed pad especially for the price unless theyve increased the price of it
forgor who it was, probably veed but they used one of razers mousepads and they said it was good
their mice are good, just questionable pricing at times
keyboards, really mid but good that they have free updates to keep up with the market with features but meh
headsets, think the blackshark is the only decent one, whichever is the cheapest one of the blackshark lineup but even then hyperx has some better deals
I own exactly one Razer product and it's a ESL desk mat I got for $10 because my $5 mouse pad wore out
I've got the orochi v2, wouldn't recommend
The way the batteries go in is so stupid, and if you put a triple A battery in, the double A battery doesn't actually make contact on the positive side
Which means i was throwing away perfectly good double A batteries and wondering why my mouse was dying every two weeks until I figured out why
Aside from that just meh build quality
you cant say that! the fanboys will kill you
seriously tho, mostly the shape thats ideal, tons of replica shapes online
I assume this is common sense but my NEW bose qc ultra headphones were cutting out on pc with bluetooth but when i used it on bluetooth with phone it doesnt cut out. Could this be an issue with bluetooth on my pc or what
could be the connection
could be the pc
make sure you have the antenna installed on the adapter if it has them
There was just a similar discussion in #windows-ios might be worth a read
Bluetooth on Windows is always super finicky too, it can take several tries reinstalling the driver for it to work right sometimes
been using DT 990's for like 8 years
but they keep breaking in the same spot
and my latest pair just broke
BIG cup open back good quality headphones are what im looking for
anyone got recommendations?
if you had no budget limit, what is the best gaming headset?
Hd 800S + shure sm7b with a great mixer
Yes, "headset"
If you wanted specifically gaming, pc38x
Nova pro wired also kinda great
Pc37x
Sennheiser game one
Rest afaik I'm either not educated on (some other secret sennheiser sauce) or they're labelled under a gaming brand and they're just disappointing or terrible
Like corsair virtuoso pros are quite literally sennheisers for more money
Good set but why pay more for the same thing?
Beyond the above (bar 800s+shure) I'd go good headphones + condenser mic
The quality of an all in one becomes worse than two separate parts
i had a virtuoso. it was great, but i'm not very tech savvy and it was very tempermental. every time it unplugged and switched from wired to wireless i would have to go back in settings and resync it
I have normal virtuosos, they're not the same as the pro
Pro is a Sennheiser remask, the vanilla is just rubbish classic corsair
i have a mic, so i could get headphones without a mic. i'm just kinda shopping around right now
Regular virtuosos sounds like free airline hesdphones next to the pros
Well I'd do that if it's an option yeah
Hd560s is a pc38x without the mic, another nice option
Drop hd6xx is also excellent
As are the classic hd600's
Yes, I recommend a lot of sennheiser as they're very straightforward
If you wanted another brand like beyer dynamic I'd highly suggest a dac+amp
Sometimes the most random ass ones can sound really good
it's a razer seiren mini
Solid pick, run with it, use noise cancelling software
I suggest nvidia broadcast if you have an rtx card
That sounds like a great combo to me
If you want to go for better, add a dac+amp to the headphones
That'll be the real jump at that point
i've always used wireless headsets. i did a ton of research to get the best i could and ended up with an audeze penrose. it was amazing, but too fragile and the bluetooth has no range. now i have some decent razer i got on sale
i'm considering going wired because of the dac+amp
Wireless still doesn't beat wired
Dac+amp, try topping dx3+ pro
It's one unit, small, compact, excellent
i know you can use those or something similar with wireless, but it's really hard to research and i'm kinda tech dumb dumb
i've been working a lot and haven't really had time for gaming, so i'm not in a hurry
The topping should be probably 200-ish
plus the razer i have is decent enough for now
Trust me anything I'm suggesting now will put those razers to shame lmao
I owned a lot of razer headsets
Once I went to proper audio I couldn't wear them again
Lol
I now know $20 sets that can contest with a kraken v3
💀
i always had steel series, until they had a weird compatibility issue with some software. i then got the penrose, but with their range so bad i may as well go wired
just saying i'm with you there
Fair enough
Yeah the hd560s sounds solid
A good dac+amp is easy to come by
I would spend maybe 400 max total
Run with the mic, use noise cancelling software
You'll be on your way up to greener pastures again
I gotta go, hopefully this was a little insightful
👋
very much so. thanks for the help!
Np
Link it
What product does razer make best and worst?
Mice best, pc parts worst
Just behind pc parts for worst headphones aren't far off for last place
Im not sure about the build quality of the phones tho
I owned both
Both were great
If you put them in proper cases and protection they were really solid
sounds like any phone lol
Except they weren't
I didn't have issues with android like I do now
I wasn't worried about scratched surfaces
The speakers on those phones were arguably incredible
Put anything else I've seen to shame by a mile
They were very straightforward, good gaming phones
My current and previous phones feel flimsy in comparison, and really touch and go with the software
Razer's phone division was a tragic loss, they had something excellent and abandoned it
They probably weren’t selling enough. Gaming branded phones are kind of niche
What microphone should I get up to 100$?just for gaming preferably black please
Hyerpx solocast/quadcast are decent
Not sure if they're the best choice though, I don't know a ton about peripherals
I would ditch the quadcast, for the money there are many better options. Solocast is a decent condenser, samson q2u is a decent budget dynamic mic
Most people i dont think know the difference between condenser and dynamic mics
Dynamic is your typical cheap headset mic, good noise isolation generally compared so its better if youre in an environment with background noise
A condenser is great for studio mics, since theyre better at picking up small details in the environment and in your voice at the cost of picking up a bit too much at times, good for an isolated environment where you arent worried about background noise
Dynamics dont sound bad per se, but they dont pick up as much detail
So its really up to what you need there
it's not quite as cut and dry as that, but yeah
No but those id say are the biggest differences between the two
close, biggest differences is the pickup range, sensitivity.
Common usecases for condensers is for studio and field recording where as dynamic is more common for podcast style recording. ofc with either I try to remind people that the mic is not supposed to be several feet away from you when speaking
specifically when it's a cardioid pattern
room mics tend to be omnidirectional, and meant to be far away from the speaker
and then shotgun mics with their focused pickup patterns to stay out of frame
honestly majority of mics are cardioid. some small diaphragms also offer interchangeable capsules depending on if you want cardioid or omni which can be useful
yeah true
LOGITEC G102 or RAZER DEATHADDER essential? which one should i buy...
Deathadder if a g305 isn't close in price
agreed, deathadder
I'm gonna go Logi on this one.
I'm a huge G305 fan
https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-mice/g305-lightspeed-wireless-gaming-mouse.910-005289.html?srsltid=AfmBOoqsmfFie-BdUZhYW0EP7Vjk-QFLXB6ZQp8Xbku2Xy8KcFz_kO7b
If you're gonna buy a mouse the best mouse I've ever used is the G305
Keep in mind every person has a different "Grip" style the G305 fits my hand very well but you may need another mouse to fit your unique hand & grip style.
is logitech g304 a good choice??
i want to try wireless.. my budget is 2500 inr..
g305 is the same as 304 but for certain other countries
iirc due to different frequency allocations
i found that out from a friend from the philippines lmao
Yeah 304 is 305
I'll 304 u in a minute
Still needs to be relatively close in price
That mouse isn't worth more than 40usd
I’ll 306 your 304 in a minute
I'll 309 your 306 in a minute
Could someone explain the differences between mini led and oled to me?
And why mini led is a step above IPS?
I have a general idea, but I like understanding anything I'm suggesting to the point I can explain it
miniled is just a bunch of white? leds behind a LCD panel, usually IPS, and you can control every individual mini led backlight, so (assuming that it's made well), would be a step up compared to regular IPS panels in terms of good local dimming and better contrast ratios
while OLED there's no LCD layer and the subpixels light themselves as you probably know
i'm not sure if miniled only has white leds as backlight or if there's also rgb and such
well, gemini says that there's more than white lmao
Ohh alright
What does that lead to visually?
Since there's no lcd layer it responds faster/smoother?
depends on the panel i would say, but i believe oled can be faster
especially considering those very fast oled panels that exist
oled is nice especially since it can do perfect blacks (which is nice for vr headsets)
afaik miniled doesnt quite get as dark as oled, but it's close
Tyvm for the info
Oh I asked in the wrong channel lmao just realized
lmao
i kept switching channels and forgetting that it wasnt the monitors channel
so i kept switching there and wondering where the text was
guys i need mic recs
something to use almost exclusively for gaming and maybe recording videos for school
no price limit necessarily
and would also like it to have an off switch or some like built-in muting factor but idk how common that feature is
Elgato wave link 1 or 3 seems pretty good
Also comes with the software which lets you have 8 separate audio channels
And a headphone jack for low latency audio
But since there's technically no limit
125 isn't egregious
Oh yeah and it has a capacitive mute button on the device too
no price limit you say
https://www.economik.com/telefunken/u47/
this is the one
or actually, this isnt even the correct one
or
hmmm
oh it is
it's just not one of the used original ones
this is just a reproduction of the classic u47
also wdym by record videos for school? do you want the mic in frame of the camera or not?
if you don't want it in frame, get a shotgun mic
if you don't mind it being in frame, and/or you plan on using it for voiceovers, get a condenser or dynamic (dynamic is better for non-noise treated rooms, unless you plan on recording in a closet)
also if you want to do multiple mics buy something with xlr which opens your options quite a bit for higher end audio equipment
in case you want to do more stuff like mic up instruments and such
for usb mics, i probably wouldn't spend more than $100 on one
(because you can get a full xlr setup for a bit over that)
mtrack solo + cheap xlr dynamic mic + xlr cable + mic boom = ~$120
or cheap xlr condenser mic
next option is the focusrite scarlett 2i2 (if you want 2 mics, solo if you want 1) + mic and accessories which adds up to around $200 or maybe a bit more
oh hey they're currently on sale
also if anybody ever says "bruh you should have gotten UA's apollo wah wah" don't
terrible windows driver support, only get that for apple products, also it requires thunderbolt
if you really do want something as high end as that, then get the RME babyface (weird name but it's the competitor to UA's apollo)
anyways, scarlett is already overkill for most people
i suggest getting UA's apollo 🗿
-# idk what they are but igetmen doesnt seem to like them
https://youtu.be/Wow9WlA87w0 honestly a good video on interfaces
This video goes over interfaces that I personally don't recommend which in turn will make the process of finding an interface much easier for you. I discuss many popular interfaces. Many I recommend. And some I don't. Interfaces as as the Behringer UM2, the Focusrite Solo, Focusrite 2i2, the MOTU M2, the M-Track Solo, the ID4 Mark 2, Presonus Au...
galaxy buds got a softwar update that made them about 20% better
shame on samsung for rushing a product so badly
It better not be temperature
20% more sound frfr
From what I can tell the update is only for the new Buds 3 models and improves Bluetooth connection reliability (occasional audio cutout is something I've noticed on the FE so I guess they fixed that on the 3).
The update also promises improved "sound quality" which is a very nebulous term that could mean just about anything.
added more bass frfr
I hope not because they were already heavy on the bass
Maybe it's the adaptive EQ feature they improved?
Who knows though, like I said it's a very nebulous term
Like saying if I tightened my sphincter it becomes 20% better
ong
i need opinons or suggestions, need to upgrade my keyboard (had corsair k63, its having issues). was looking at ducky shine 7 or steelseries apex 7
anyone got an opinion one way or the other? or want to say both bad get something else?
Genuine question, whats the point of wireless keyboards 😭
some people just dont like wires? or if you have a standing desk and you are used to a super short wire for the keyboard
idk i prefer wired for desktop
I think they make sense for like
TV setups
Where a long ass cord doesn't make a whole lotta sense
thats true, tv setups or if you hook it up to a console
For desktops I don't get it
Laptops if again, you're not right at the screen, maybe doing a presentation
Just an aesthetic thing in those scenarios
i could see for laptops if you have a docking station setup
what's your budget?
and do you just want full sized?
i want full sized yeah, budget was trying to stay under 200
i probably dont use the extra buttons that much but i just like full size, one of those things
HE is probably a nice feature to look for, unfortunately k2 HE is only 75% but worth a look
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k2-he-wireless-magnetic-switch-keyboard?variant=41846762930265
Keychron K2 HE is a 75% layout QMK wireless keyboard with Magnetic Hall Effect switches. These switches offer precise actuation, rapid trigger, and adjustable actuation points. Connect the K2 HE with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
hmm
i thought HE was a bit more gimmicky at the moment? granted i havent looked at any of this in like a year
It's slowly transitioning from really gimmicky to somewhat useful
The K2 HE is at a price where HE is finally comparable in price to other keyboards, <$200
well if i want HE, i see there is the wooting two but not that many reviews for it
im still leaning towards the ducky with blue switches, not really seeing justification for HE
maybe i dont need the numpad and really just want TKL
Few more weeks till I get my Wooting 80HE
hmm that wooting looks interesting
If you play a lot of shooters it will be nice. Don't use it for typing enjoyment tho
im not really a shooter person, more arpgs and sometimes mobas
I mean it's not only for shooters, anything competitive it will be nice for
Osu
and osu
My 80he getting delayed because it's the white zinc case...
i went with a keychron q3, friends in other server recommended (and it gets here fast)
i cant stand this garbage generic Microsoft keyboard any more lol
do i spend another $300 for a white rvmse 🗿
@floral lake if for whatever reason you decide to get into mousepads, you can probably just walk to their factory and buy their pads 🗿
damn
is it worth getting seperate headphones + mic for gaming
and like general productivity stuffs
usually yeah
oki
depends on your use case, for a dedicated system and quality wise yeah get them seperate, if you just need moderate quality at a quick and affordable price just grab a pair of senny's pc38x, you can always buy a dedicated microphone later
great audio headphones, mics not anything special but its a million times better than any other headset mics ive seen personally lol
pros of having seperate mic and headphones: your mic would be the best sounding in the lobby
ong
but yeah, pc38x isnt bad
ususally you can get better value headphones rather than headsets
^
just depends on your use case and preference
theres no right answer for everybody
What’s a good 1080p webcam with good audio quality <$100
My logicrap 720p doesn’t autofocus and I can’t do honorlock exams 💀
Need a decent mic on it too since I don’t have a separate microphone (wanna keep the setup clean too)
Id get a ~$30-50 Webcam and get a separate mic
^Agree
current camera is a logitech c270
doesnt have to be super crisp
0.9mp
NEW Razer - Kiyo X $39
Kiyo X is decent but it's not amazing, and definitely not the best in the mic department
Webcams just aren't known for good audio, you buy a separate mic for that
Most headsets have better mics than webcam ones
Logitech C920x?
Using a WH4 headset, prefer an external mic
Then get one that attaches to a boom or stand
Anker PowerConf C200 2K
You won't match your headset mic on a webcam
I know the kiyo, it's decent
But buy a separate mic with it
this look good
A fifine off amazon with a boom arm is 55
Good specs ≠ good quality
They can sell you something with great hardware and horrible firmware
2k resolution, adjustable fov, 1080/30, 5mp
That said I don't believe anker is bad, but just warning since I don't know this cam
wireless
Wireless would be not great 💀
I trust razer more than battery maker anker
Could go snowball for mic, but prefer one that is small and can clip to monitor
The fifine pack is like $55 off amazon and really good
The seiren mini is also quite good if you prefer razer
i really dont need a crazy good microphone
people say my logicrap has a fine microphone, literally anything better is good
I'm not giving you crazy good options lmfao
You said "<$100"
A kiyo X + fifine is <$100
I'm answering the criteria given with a good outcome for the budget
If you're worried about a clean desk then things like hanging it off the back of the desk or even a monitor arm can make a hidden mount very achievable
Or
You could just use your headset mic
Someone might provide different advice here, I'm not recommending a webcam mic at all tho
bought the kiyo x
Will wait on mic
your phone
Droidcam on my old phone works just fine
How am I supposed to watch Instagram reels mid game?
💀
i just turned off mouse accel, it feels so strange lmao
idek what changed it just feels worse
it means that windows is no longer trying to predict where your mouse is going
not really
well, technically it's not quite prediction
it changes the speed of the cursor depending on how fast you're moving your mouse
so when i say predicting, i mean that the cursor would move faster if you're moving your mouse faster, because windows (or rather, the acceleration curve) is assuming that you want to move the mouse further if you're moving the mouse faster, so you can move your mouse less
in other words, it's not anything fancy like AI lmao
ohh ok
isnt that how regular mouse sensors work?
i mean that the cursor would move faster/further than the mouse does depending on how fast you move the mouse
probably more extreme than the actual curve, but imagine you moving the mouse very slowly to aim at like a small ui button, the mouse would be moving 1:1
but then you want to move the cursor to a different monitor or something, so you move the mouse fast, so the movement is 1:2
ohh i see ty
then yea that feature sucks, you could just move the mouse especially fast to get the same effect lmao
who in japan rn, i got a mission for you. i NEED the hatsune miku wallhack pad
Is that your recommendation
The last one you recommended isn't smooth anymore
what one did i recommend to you
and no, i just want it for collection
and also test to compare to their old skypad 3.0
is this a good microphone? also, what boom arm or condenser could i get for it? https://electronics.woot.com/offers/new-neat-bumblebee-ii-professional-cardioid-usb-condenser-microphone-12
I am familiar with the neat king bee and worker bee mics which were both pretty decent options. I am not familiar with this one
of course i rush to get a new keyboard and my old one decides to not be broken right as i get the new one lol
guess ill just leave it in packaging
razer strider
what skates were you using with it and how hard were you pressing down on it?
just wear i guess 🗿
could just get a different mousepad, dont recommend a glasspad since we live in cali
Any suggestions on 27 inch 1440p hdmi 2.1 120+hz monitor just for console?
Any other options?
This is honestly the best one and it's still on the same price
This mini LED beats anything else remotely close in price
If you're really adverse to it tho, this
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/w44Zxr/hp-omen-27q-270-2560-x-1440-165-hz-monitor-780h5aa
Was a nice pick, until the mini LED turned up
MINI LED sits maybe a step below the likes of OLED/QD-OLED
So I would really take the Acer imo
I want cheap one
It’s hdmi 2.0 ps5 doesn’t support 120hz 2k that well(frame drops stutters)
You won't get cheaper than this
Also 2.0 will do 1440p 120
2.1 includes 2.0 spec into it
Meaning you can buy a "2.1" monitor and it runs 2.0 speeds
So it's easier to just remember the bandwidth maximums per spec
What do u think about dell ultrasharp u2724d @pale cosmos
Pass
Like you really won't get close to this
The competitor in the excerpt is worth about 50% more
Mini led is definitely a good value right now
Hello! I apologize about the long link, not sure how to shorten that. I'm getting my wife her birthday present and she has been obsessing over these. Can these be used to game on the switch effectively? The main question is, I am completely unfamiliar with tech like this. Is this the best bang for the buck in this field of AR/VR glasses or is there a better one? Could really use some help.

Greetings! Anyone here use the Razer Naga V2 Hyperspeed?
I'm wondering if it has any interchangable side plates like the Naga V2 Pro.
Or if the differences between the two are substantial enough to just go with the V2 Pro.
the hyperspeed is lower end than the v2 pro
razer doesnt advertise it to have interchangeable side plates, nor does any other sources i've looked at say that it is interchangeable, so it's likely to be not interchangable
https://www.rtings.com/mouse/tools/compare/razer-naga-v2-pro-vs-razer-naga-v2-hyperspeed/36201/36202 it seems like rtings tested both mice
The Razer Naga V2 Pro and the Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed are similar wireless mice with comparable gaming performance from the same product lineup. The [nolink:Naga V2 Pro] is more versatile overall and includes a set of modular side panels with different button layouts. It also has a fully customizable scroll wheel and uses optical switches. On t...
Thanks. That's what I was thinking as well (about the side plates) just wasn't sure if anyone here owned one and could say for sure.
Thanks. I'll check it out.
considering that the hyperspeed is $100 cheaper than the pro, it probably isnt as featured as the pro lmao
Right.
the pro appears to be able to operate wired if you want, while the hyperspeed only works with the dongle or bluetooth
Yeah, rechargeable battery on the Pro
I like the two buttons on the left click though. Wish that came with the Pro.
we have one of these it's very very nice
The nothing ear opens ..... Best open earbuds by far the sound is so good, not lacking bass, 10/10
Opens what
I need a new pair of headphones. these are what ive boiled it down to. which is the best choice
SteelSeries Arctis 7+ vs SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 vs HyperX Cloud III Wireless
If you really just want to pick between those two brands
Nova pro or cloud ii/iii wired
i cant really do wired anything because my desk at college is already a mess and i dont think i can survive yet another cable
Well nova pro then
There really isn't much in the way of good sounding wireless
Not unless you get quite creative
the nothing ear open .. deez nuts
i dont have the budget for the pros💀😭
something around 100$ after a blackfriday sale discount is what m looking for
got that college kid budget XD
Wireless iems probably the best bet then
To which I'm not very knowledgeable about those
i got kinda weirdly shaped canals so no earphone really sits properly
There's really not anything else that I'm aware of unless you take a dive in audio quality
Not trying to be rude but, very, VERY FEW headsets/headphones are good and also wireless
btwn the 3 options i stated which is best? cuz those r the ones that seem to be most recommended at the price point i can afford
ik😭😭😭
pick 2: good, wireless, cheap
New switches
