Know any cheap good monitors preferably with g sync/g sync compatible for under 200
g241
diff between 144hz and 165hz is not noticeable
^
also g sync is just branding at this point, don't worry about it
budget?
And grip, there's a good pic of grips in the pins
beg to differ but ok
if ur playing on 165 and get a 20 fps drop ur gonna feel that
thats not what i said?
the difference between a 144hz monitor and a 165hz monitor is not noticeable
but 144->165 isnt gonna feel magically alot better
and im saying you're gonna notice a change
hz does not equal fps
yeah but im assuming if you get 165hz monitor you're gonna be using 165 fps
Not all games achieve 165fps easily
how many games where fps matters beyond 60 are realistically going to run 165fps
or 144 for that matter
Btw upgrading from 144 to 165 is useless, you can OC your monitor, not really recommended but if you want to achieve 165 it's just a 21hz oc
geometry dash
only people that thats going to matter for are people playing competitively, in which case theyd likely want 240hz
21hz wont make a difference in those cases
i dont see a difference from my 120hz laptop screen to my 165hz monitor
hz is never gonna make that big of a difference
in gaming
anything past 165 aint gonna have any crazy difference unless ur some pro top .01% gamer
I personally find 70gps acceptable and playable in warzone but in Minecraft 70fps is just unplayable for me
Unless it's Minecraft with shaders
60fps is fine in all games i play except val
and certain games FPS dont matter as much
It just depends on the game
but still 144hz vs 165 is 100% noticable if they're side by side
but upgrading to one not worth imo
I do play cod and beamng at 70-80fps max and it's ok
unless ur upgrading resolution to
I think some games can make big difference, for me geometry dash from 60hz to 240 or even 144hz to 240hz was night and day just because it is a game where everything is in constant motion with no breaks. it hurts for me to play 60hz in that now
I chose to upgrade resolution over FPS for the 2080 upgrade
1080p144 → 1440p144
i can play games like tarkov at 80 fps without it feeling terrible but any rhythm game under 160 fps is garbage
Also considering some people said that the upgrad from 144 to 240 isn't always noticeable and not all games will benefit from that much fps
and thats why I run quaver at 1200 fps
osu 1800fps gang
smh my head
Shaking my head my head
idk because its a game with a large asian fanbase
that has player created songs
resulting in large amounts of japaneese songs
I actually haven't played osu in a bit since I accidentally deleted all my maps and don't feel like spending the time to retrieve them yet
(also due to large amounts of japaneese rhythm game songs)
and also just large amounts of weebs who play game
How do you accidentally delete? Lol
for now ill just play irl rhythm game (piano)
long story but they are still somewhere, not really sure where
What? Xd
Infinity
so you can spend 2k on a mouse
Yeah
That doesn’t mean it’s the best for fps…

I have the g pro already
Want less latency wired mouse
I just got razer basilisk v3
Going to test it out
But it’s front heavy idk if I’ll like it
latency really isnt gonna be much of an issue in most modern mice unless its like really really bad and i wouldnt go for finalmeme unless youre getting it heavily discounted

Only thing technically better is like 8khz Razer mice
This is click latency but it’s pretty much the same order for sensor latency if anyones curious.
imo any mouse works as long as it's not like
100ms of latency lmao
and that the sensor can respond to rapid movements without skipping or pausing
super washed and out of the loop but iirc mouse latency is not gonna matter especially considering stuff like human response time its just not a big factor
yep
human response time is way slower than most mice can respond anyway
it won't really improve your playing experience, if at all going for the fastest mouse
I'm experiencing a pretty odd glitch when I play games that put me in a camera mode (FPS, TPS, etc) that causes my aim to randomly slow down and 'float', almost as if it's drifting like a game controller. I thought it was just PUBG, but it occurs on Roblox, Call of Duty, Minecraft, and pretty much everything that locks me in a camera mode. I'm not sure where the issue came from, just that it started when I played PUBG earlier. I'm not sure if this is a #peripherals-and-displays or a #windows-ios issue because I unplugged my current mouse and used a different one with its own settings and it still happened
I can try to get a clip of the glitch
That's a really weird issue but since it's across multiple games try DDU
!ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
aLRIGHT
caps lock
I can't be sure but it feels like it's affecting scroll wheel too
Definitely affecting scroll
Huh. Another weird symptom. And that's with both mice as well?
You're gonna wanna be above hz of your monitor or if not freesync
more like at least 165 but whatever
I'd prefer more but i suppose mins of 165 is okay
Did you end up finding a resolve on your issue? I apologize I am just curious as I have had someone report a similar issue a while ago and never learned a fix
Yeah it seems to work fine now
Thank you
looking for suggestions on Mice
what would anyone here recommend
We'd need a bit of info first. Check the pins for how to measure your hand and how to figure out your grip style. Do you prefer lighter or heavier? Any brand preferences?
18cm x 10cm, Full-Forward Palm Grip, im okay with any weight, think i lean slightly more heavy though
the only mouse ive ever used for over 7 years is a basic ancient gateway mouse, so i dont know any brands
im a heavy gamer, and heavy photoshop, blender
I've got similar size hands and grip. I like the G502 Hero. It's adjustable weight too.
The only thing to keep in mind is Logitech switches wear out faster than some others. If you play MMO or FPS games a lot that use the left click heavily you might need to replace under warranty.
I use the g502
pretty solid
But my friend's g502 has a poor mouse wheel which is an issue I hear of often
Reason: Bad word usage
Ow
Is it normal for mics to sounds awful despite being advertised with this stuff?
It doesn't seem like I get any of those things
When I'm trying to record audio, it always picks up noises like family talking in a different room, me typing on my keyboard, any bump, etc
It got so bad to the point where I had to move my PC off of my desk just to stop it from picking up the vibration of the fan
My voice doesn't sound all that great either with it
And there's no software for it
all that fancy talk is just marketing @polar cradle now razer isn't really well known for having good products in audio but you also can't ignore how microphones work in general. to limit the amount of background noise you want to put the mic closer to you and make sure you are speaking into the front of it and not the back. about 3-5in is usually about the optimal range. dynamic mics also have shorter pickup ranges than condensers, dynamics are often what is used on stages or podcasts with multiple people. you also have to make sure the gain which is the primary volume control for mics is not too loud or else it will start getting horribly distorted.
my xx key seems to start failing 😦
maybe all the osu is starting to up to it
catch up to it*
I'm guessing by the neon green text, it's a razer microphone? Lol
Most gaming microphones or headsets are garbage.
I have a pretty budget dynamic mic and mixer setup, but it is kilometers better than these gaming oriented devices lol.
Behringer xm8500 and a UM2 mixer
I think it cost $70 all together, but that doesn't include the microphone arm
Hi everyone, I would like some recommendations about the best chair for long day sitting work and gaming. my gaming chair is giving back problems and it is not comfortable. something not overpriced. good in value and reasonable price.
could go for something like this
https://www.amazon.com/Komene-Ergonomic-Computer-Adjustable-Armrests/dp/B08N9TC8GC/
this one has a $80 coupon
https://www.amazon.com/Komene-Ergonomic-Office-Chair-Cushion-Adjustable/dp/B091CFLDJY/
you could also go to like an office depot or staples and see what chairs they have that you can actually test sit and see if they have any deals
Thank you

Koss GMR or hyper x cloud II?
If you can get a cloud ii for 50$, go for cloud ii
Ok saw it on Newegg for 55
What's y'alls opinion on the G703
It's on sale
Kinda wanna replace the G502 light speed eventually
where at?
Might I suggest this for the same price? It's on sale as well.

also has versatility.
😛
makes sense. I just really want that mouse so I'm down to suggest it 😛
can tell Alexa to swap your profile and lights and stuff
so like if you want to snipe one game, and run and gun the next.. you can just tell alexa to swap so you don't have to do anything.
or even in the middle of a match I suppose.
I could see a use for it 🙂
It's integrated into sunapse 3
synapse*
so a lot of razer product that's being released supports it
I personally have my whole room set up with alexa, so it would just be another thing to integrate for me.
yeah there is one with media keys/volume wheel that I want because it's a low profile keeb
I want a quiet keyboard that I can still swap the keys on
I have some really nice custom ones i wanna keep
I know it's "cheap" in terms of price, but the EVGA Z15 is amazing. It's a full size, but the Kailh silver speed switches are quiet, unless you bottom them out.
they don't have that click clacky bump thing.
can usually find the board for like $35
I bought mine when it was $75
I mean I'm no stranger to cheap keyboards
I love it.
I can't really bring myself to buy a more expensive board because I really love this one
I just really like TKl
ahh
I've never used the numberpad
I use the numpad so much
Skill issue or somethin
but I also solely use a numpad at work soo it's just second nature to me.
Fair enough
Wireless mice I like
Wireless keyboard? Eh
No
Atleast mice are good with the powerplay mat
I use TKL too
But I want 96%
Similar size with numpad still being in there
Tho the keys are more crammed together

@cloud bison Can you look for a manufacturer refurbed wireless logitech?
You might be able to find a gpro for around $80
Hm?
Ah
I bought my Viper Ultimate refurbed on Amazon and it looked brand new
Haven't had any issues with it...so far... 🤞
Even came with the docking station
And the Gpro superlight is $20 more
Hey guys! I am currently looking for a wireless headset for under 100$. I cant seem to find any though. My best option was the hyper x cloud alpha wireless but I cant afford to spend 200$ on a headset. Any recommendations?
im going to assume usd?
yeah
hyperx cloud flight are $93 rn, they can go low as like $60/$70. cloud flight s is $134, cloud stinger core $50
ok thanks so much!
Should I just go for a wired version because that sounds not great.
@neon root
Should I go for a wired mic instead of wireless? I looked up a sound test and that sounds a lot worse then my headset
for which headset? cloud flight i used to have and didnt sound terrible, def usable unless their quality has gone to crap over the years
but realistically an idea setup would be wired headphones/earbuds and a separate wired mic for better sound quality
granted obv you lose out on being able to walk around your house with your headset on
if youre fine with the headset/headphones you have now in terms of audio that you hear, then ye just buy a separate wired mic for improvement
I currently have the razer kraken x which sound amazing and I literally get compliments on having a clear mic, but the build quality is dogsh*t and the earmuffs are falling off and so is the cloth at the top of the headset.
I think I should go for wired now that I think about it because mic quality is more important then comfort for me
i mean, you dont really have to give up comfort. lot of good headsets/headphones out there that sound good and have good comfort
By comfort I mean wireless vs wired
ah
I prob should have just said that lol
Another option is to get a headset and a seperate mic like the fifine studio t669
but I would need to find a headset for under 40$ without a mic
headphones or iems
Whats iems? Sorry im new to pcs lol
earbuds
Headphones
koss has some headsets however you can use them without the mic as well, never heard a sound test of the mic so not sure on it but koss seems to be recommended a decent amount here
gmr 545 air sub is $40 rn
By sound test I mean mic test sorry its a bad habit
like how the mic sounds
Alright thanks for the help!
So sick of this
Ghub keeps breaking
Now I can't change the rotation of my wheel
So I'm locked to 900°
Because it's "loading resources"
genuinely wanna bash my head on the desk
This garbage never works
this app is even worse
only can change in increments of 20
when is used to be any thing you wanted
Yeah, Ghub is pretty bad
Hey @gritty marlin do you recommend any headphones (not headsets with a detachable mic) for under $50 USD? I was looking at the gmr 545 air but I really don't like the look of those. Im purchasing the t669 as a microphone but am looking for headphones with spatial audio as a plus.
why me
understandable
you helped me in the past
i am not knowledgeable about mics though
oh ok
all i know is the one i have and it's not below $50
ok, do you know someone who is?

it's $59

it's a great mic though
my friend with a shure sm7b asked me what mic i have
and that's a $400 mic so
oops, I already purchased the t669 and wasnt really hoping to have to refund it.
plus the t669 is already setup so
oh
i completely
read that wrong
lmao
i thought you were looking for a mic
i just got off work my brain is fried
lol your good
i dunno, i bought $250 headphones 7 years ago and haven't looked at the scene since
they're still goin
Do you know someone who is good with peripherals?
nope, i'd just wait for someone to arrive in this channel or ask in general chat if i were you
ok
This message for anyone in general
@daring zenith
Koss still best option but uh you won't like the look of em
Ksc75x or porta pro are nice
There's also grabbing CAL SE and separate mic
Are you looking for over ear, earbuds, etc?
Also, mainly for gaming or music/videos, or everything?
Skullcandy Crusher Evos have been trending a lot in the headphone community recently and ive been sort of curious on the other “crusher” headphones such as the crusher anc, and crusher wireless and how their (concussion) bass stacks up to the evos, cause from what ive heard, the evos have only been trending due to misinformation which caused their price to get jacked up and eventually surpassing the anc’s which apparently has “better bass”
if those are the ones that im thinking that are the tiktok headphones because of the fact that you can boost the bass, theyre pretty bad unless you like just bass
Kinda only getting em for the gimmick
its dirty/muddy bass but i mean for working out, thats really what you want i guess just bass vibrating your head even though the sound is meh
Bass detailing and giving just the right thumps still sounds better regardless of what you're doing
Or just turn up the vole or use a rather bright, energetic pair
Would def make your heart beat more
Pretty sure a v shaped or a neutral-bright sound sig makes the music more energetic than just, upping the bass
Qlso the more energetic a pair is the more it feels exhausting on long term sessions
Which are better, the Razer Blackshark v2 pro or the Corsair HS80?
1 vote and 12 comments so far on Reddit
does anyone reccomend the k2 keychron wireless?
Ok sounds good! Is it hotswapable by chance?
I plan to tape mod and change the switches to gateron yellow
I know they have a version that is, but I don't think the RGB one is hotswappable
i mean u can get this
Keychron V1 is a fully customized 75% layout compact mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and endless possibilities. The V1 allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typing experience.
its SMD LEDs i wouldn't see why u wont be able to
is this one because it doesn't say https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0963FTLYX/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2HZ6DMACCHCOH&psc=1
I also looked on the keychron website and its the same price but for some reason it also doesnt say
doesnt mention anything about hotswap so its probs not
They just have different versions, it'll say if it's hotswap or not
tbh v1 is like 20$ more and seems alot better to me
Whats the diffrence between them?
diff layout a little bit more expensive but its built alot nicer
I really like the layout of the k2, the only reason I would say no is I dont like the small gap between the arrow keys and the rest of the keyboard as well as I dont like how the board is longer on the sides then the keys are
idk if that last thing makes sense
heres the pic im looking at if that helps
yeah I mean personally like the layout more but if It's something that bothers you then get the k2
but yeah k2 is very tall get a wrist wrest
idk about the v1
ok, thanks for the help guys!
any good rgb keyboards? i want something not too clacky and preferably under 40$ us
tryin to look for a MICLESS headphone this time since i got a separate microphone and i plan to do streaming soon (but yall can recommend me headphones with mics too idrc)
do you guys have any recommendations
what budget
100-125 dollars tops
just any headphones really
just sumn affordable because these nari ultimate headphones are eh now
I have a big problem... My WiFi card is not working properly... Keeps disconnecting from home WiFi, slow connection most of the time (from 0.5 to 7MB/s instead of 11MB/s from router) I reinstalled drives, enabled, disabled the device... Etc
Have you tried reseating it?
You mean on the motherboard?
If yes
Why should it solve the problem? I've never touched it in months
Process of elimination lol
Now it is working properly but it crashed mid game in warthunder
And I'd like it to work all the time
Yeah try reseating or different slot if possible
Uhhh
Don't really want to take apart my pc... Is there any other setting that could solve? Bios disabling?
Nvm I'll see if I can solve with CMD, I've found an easy guide
Hope it works
Yeah personally idk other than the reseat and the other things you tried
PC vibrations could have made it come loose enough to cause issues? Idk, it's just something to try.
Also, why would you need to take apart your pc?? it's literally just 2 seconds to pull it out and push it back in lol
plus the 2 seconds to undo the screw holding it in.
Removing glass panel, unscrewing the WLAN card, unplugging the usb cable that is somewhere zip tied...
Btw I just tried the small guide, now restarting, I'll play for a bit and see if it crashes again
I guess "uninstalling" device from device manager solved
Ah yes btw it works now
Recommendation: if your WLAN card doesn't work properly, go to device manager > uninstall device > reboot pc > probably solved.
(It does remove newer drivers but you can always reinstall them)
Anyone know where I can get a mousepad with a design that’s not crappy quality but also not to expensive
razer strider, aqua control II, aqua control +, fnatic dash, fnatic focus 3, tiger esports eba, lethal gaming gear venus and mercury, xtrfy gp4, odin infinity
xtrfy gp4 being the most expensive on that list at $35 on amazon
theyre all simple designs as well with just a logo in the corner except the esports tiger eba and xtrfy gp4
would this be the right channel to ask about desks specifically standing desks or is there a chat for that
You are in the right place 🙂
Im looking into standing desks and im hoping to get feedback/recommendations on a frame to get that I will add a butcher block topper to
Omnitype has some instock mats for 30-35 bucks. Mekamat, Dualshot/Modo/Modo Light/9009 Circles
Meybe the floral & botanical might be nice as well,
The actually good ones are gb deskmats tho, only viable to get one is to buy 2nd hand
...or join a gb yourself
joining a gb is always an option however that takes time.
is it possible to put headset plug to motherboard io?
Do keep in mind if the headset uses a single combo jack and there's no combo jacks just line in and line out, you'll prob need a splitter
using my line out i believe for my speaker
and wanted to see if i can put my headset jack
so the cable is a bit closer
I was gonna get the arctics 7s does anyone know if that’s a good choice
I'd listen to a mic check on youtube and see if it's something you like
I heard the mic audio isn't super great
Ok, thanks for the help
You bet, other than that, I've heard good things about them
Hey so, I've got a bit of a dumb question
Recently I've got my hands on a wireless mouse and headset using corsair's slipstream dongle
problem is, whenever I connect the dongle I'm unable to connect to my old wifi network
I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to this sort of thing and I figured there might be a simple solution that I don't see
so does anyone know what might be causing this, or what I can do to alleviate it?
Only solution to this would be to upgrade your wifi, both router and your wifi device if it's too old to support 5ghz wifi
Because wireless mice tends to run at 2.4ghz wave
And that could interfere with wifi
Bluetooth operates around that frequency too but is lower power
It can interfere at times tho
Which might be the issue for this case
Especially with combined mouse and headset
Aha, so it's a frequency thing then. And yes, the wifi is old and outdated, I'm trying to upgrade it but it will take some time. Thank you guys for the input!
When I had my Orochi v2 plugged into the back of my pc next to my wifi antennae, my wifi would cut out every time I moved my mouse. I had to relocate the USB to the front of the case.
Wifi can be more sensitive than you think sometimes
I'd love to switch to ethernet but it's just not in the cards as things stand currently.
Powerline Ethernet maybe?
can someone help me decide between the keychron k2, mx keys mini or mechincal and the apple magic keybaord wih]th to
with touch ID
K2 is the nicer keyboard, hotswap is fun with new switches, but if you need touch id or smth, apple is apple.
What about for typing experience , typing for a long time etc. Tbf I like the sound of some mechanical keyboards @daring zenith
I mean, with hotswap mech keyboards you can change your switches to whatever you want for your keyboard to feel however you want
What keyboard you running ?
Kbd67 lite with u4t, also have a keychron k8 and used to have a c2 before I gave it to a friend
If you don't have a dock, can't you attach the usb dongle to the end of the wire that comes with the razer mice?
So that way you have it near your mousepad?
i should try holy bobas on PC
ive only tried FR4 and its not great
imo fr4 very mid
Doesn't fr4 flex
yeah
some people like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Get a switch with higher actuation force than it takes to flex, instant bonus travel
Spring swap for longer springs ez
O ring gasket mount? Pfft I got spring gasket mount
Springs everywhere
Another crazy idea, make custom switches with really small linear springs
Shave down standard mx style mech switches until you make it into a low profile switch
*Constant force spring
My orochi didn't come with anything other than the mouse and the dongle.
and battery
whats a good wireless gaming headset for around 100 - 150 usd
it must have a microphone
flex is fake
Any recommendations on a wireless headset? I already have a standalone mic so not needed with the headset, mostly for discord and games and general use
Work is suggesting a gaming headset for conference calls. Suggestions for a USB one? Bluetooth is also an option.
Cloud ii wireless prob
If you can do both wired and wireless, K371 Bluetooth can be nice, nicer while wired, but Bluetooth is an option
What budget?
Company dime.
Damn lol pc38x + schiit fula then if you can just write it off
Assuming for PC, might be annoying to carry around if laptop
A dock, actually.
A laptop dock.
Might be simpler to just use the splitter thing and use combo jack on laptop
Amp&dac is nice though
Apple 3.5mm to usb-c dongle could do fine too
Probably can't justify that level of complexity.
Hey it's just like 8$ for apple dongle
I mean using an Amp.
Ye, apple dongle is a decent rudimentary dac&, going schiit fulla is a bit higher end dac& combo, don't really need to have separate dac& for something along the lines of a headset

its an alright mouse. but at 55 euro, thats like $63 usd or something right?
good deal
wait no nvm, 56 usd
still a good deal
that's solid
It's used but decent
its not the superlight so it has the old switches that are notorious for double clicking
and its used so who knows how soon itll start or if it already has the issue
does anyone have a mx master mouse , i cant connect to the usb receiver to do an update ? seen a youtube video and they had "logibolt" software which is not available to donwload
if anyone knows pls let me know as i want to connect using the unifying receiver
I thought the 25k sensor variant is the newer one with the fixed switches? My gpw that double clicked was the 16k variant
im running NVidia 1050ti, AMD 9 3900x 12core 3.9ghz, 48gb ram, 14tb HDD & am needing a WiFi card for it... any sugestions
Could do something like
https://www.newegg.com/fenvi-fv-ax3000-pci-express/p/0XM-00JK-00075
Or you could just go wild in
https://www.newegg.com/Wireless-Adapters/SubCategory/ID-31
@daring zenith Thank you & wild it shall be 😉
There is no best mouse in general, just what fits your hand and what feels right
sorry i meant keyboard
i have a mx master 3s mouse and ive been using it on bluetooth and cannot seem to connect it to the unifying receiver, if anyone could help with that one would be much appreciated
No best keyboard but keychron boards are pretty nice
I need a USB 3.0 switch. The one I'm currently using, (this: https://smile.amazon.com/UGREEN-Selector-Computers-Peripheral-Switcher/dp/B01N6GD9JO) does not properly support USB 3.0, as my camera just shows up in device manager as "USB3-REQUIRED-FOR-FACECAM".
Trackpad
You need a usb 3.0 controller if your pc does not have already
Already do, and it is hooked to it.
Have you tried connecting the cam directly to port and not hub, the hub might not have enough bandwidth
Yes. That does work. Hence why I'm trying to find a hub that works here.
I’m not really sure what kind of bandwidth facecam needs but i know it’s very picky, id suggest looking at forums to see if anyone has found anything but id say you are better off leaving that cam in its dedicated port
Quite a lot of bandwidth as it doesn't compress its video stream.
“5Gbps or faster. There could be bandwidth issues if too many devices are connected to the same internal usb hub or controller”
Yeah. Might have few choices here apart from hooking up a 922x I have lying around for this other machine.
That might be a bit hard to get out of a hub, just watch for manufacturers saying “up to 5gbps” it is often not the true spec
What are you trying to ask?
New thing. I'm considering a replacement for my Galaxy Wear S3 Frontier. Where is a good place to research available devices? Reddit isn't working for me.
Do you want something for fitness, battery life, apps, etc?
Fitness is probably most important.
Good, go garmin
They're expensive, and don't have as many apps, but the battery life is great
I have an Instinct Solar Gen 1, battery usually lasts 27 days
If I have GPS on for hiking/running etc, I can track for I think 30 hours
I think the best bang for your buck is gonna be the Garmin Fenix 6 or 7, it has the most features of all the watches
Ask @lyric moth
Also, they go on sale from time to time. I think I spent $250 on my solar
good mechanical keyboard for mac ?
Keychron
Definitely Keychron get the v2 but make sure it says RGB because there is a white only version

Best switches ?
Gateron red switches are the ones I have and I love them

like d a y u m
So a kid I know is wanting to get into streaming and wants to get his first PC. Roughly 1k budget for the PC itself (can go a few hundred over)
Any recommendations?
better chat for pc would be #building-and-recc-chat though idk how many people active rn, this chat would be more for camera, keyboard, mouse, mic, headphone, etc
@west hornet oh my bad! <3
stonks
https://www.newegg.com/acer-xf273-sbmiiprx-27/p/0JC-000P-00HT2 is this a good price for 1080p 144hz 27" monitor?
for that price you can just buy a brand new one
so guys i have the FX-Audio DAC-X6, good cheap dac/amp
but past couple days ive been noticing im getting really bad distortion at low or high volumes
like enough to hear the static at any volume. whether windows is low and amp is high or vice versa
Reason: Bad word usage
Is there a gain setting?
on the dac? no afaik its 2 selection switches for input and power and an audio knob on the front
Is it powered from a wall adapter?
yes actually
Straight into an outlet or a surge protector?
You might wanna try a different outlet and see if the noise still comes through
its plugged into a 6$ harbor freight 1 plug to 3 plug adapter
lol
ill give it a go
Lol it could be from that
ill have to plug my monitor into something else
https://www.reddit.com/r/ZReviews/comments/ipa9dk/hissstatic_introduced_from_fx_audio_x6_dacamp/
See if anything in this helps

looks like somepeople are opening it up
over my head
ill see if the straight plug in works first. wishing i didn't buy the 80 ohm dt770s over 32
least i dont have 250
didnt work
seems like one of the chips is fake in the unit
how easy would it be to replace? i have a soldering iron and stuff but no experience really
op amp to be exact
You should be able to power those using your mobo audio
^
Also I would say the 80ohm version is the best of the 3
One other random note, if you often have your phone near your gear try chucking the phone across the room
lol
you know whats funny
my phone is right in front of it
ill give mobo a comparison too because when i first got these they seemed really quiet on mobo
b450 gaming plus i think

you can just push and pull out op amps
literally plug and play no solder?
Maybe, you'd have to open it up and see if there's solder or not
Yeah, you might be able to pull it out.
I don't know much about amp hacks, lol. I'd research more on that though
id rather just buy a new one from fear of getting shocked by the capacitors
4 big ones right around it too, even though its fake? doesn't make sense
I think you should be fine, the capacitor poles are on the bottom, you'll probably have to try real hard to make contact with those.
But don't take my word for it
Reason: Bad word usage
I replaced the capacitor in my AC unit, and was super paranoid that it still had a charge. So I used a multimeter just to make sure it was discharged.
anyway i remember looking for a amp before i cheaped out and got this one but the one i really wanted was about 110-120 and cant remember the name
all i remember is the play on the name schitt
oh thats the brand lol
What about this? fiio k3
It's $110
really good amp? for its price at least?
There are some on eBay for $65
idk i dont trust used
From what I saw on /r/headphones for under $200, that's one of the recommended ones
they have a "new" model for the same price too, i wonder what the diff is
oh it was the schitt fulla
thats the one i was really looking at before i took a compromise
i legit think the phone was causing most of the distortion
nvm its still there
ill just keep windows volume at 70 until i get either check for a fake op amp or buy a new dac amp
hate to buy a new one though after spending 60-70 bucks on this one
@west hornet also idk why but meizu dac stops working when I stream on discord
its weird
so I just use mobo audio lol
Discord audio is horrible, I guess you can try sound control panel settings and turning off all the overrides
for the longest time, discord audio would not play well with my dac and mic at all
streaming use to cause extreme noise/static sounds thatd disconnect my gear here and there
yup and my solution would be: continuously bother discord staff about it because its the main selling point for discord and it has aweful support. its not even a "3rd party" problem even some of the discord certified mics and headphones don't work properly.
First issue I've seen is some people with mobo audio I know when they stream the audio is either more than extremely quiet or every 5 minutes it distorts horribly.
Second discord does not support ASIO devices so if you use a higher end audio interface it works ok if it works at all until you get into interfaces that have 3, 4, 6, 12 etc inputs than discord can't figure out which to use and the result is either no audio or choppy audio.
Next discord does not support mac's MIDI audio setup and handles ASIO interfaces even worse than on windows, this shouldn't be too much to fix as mac even has a much more robust audio driver by default
Next screensharing will often completely stop working at all, all of these are not impossible to fix we see it working fine in apps such as zoom
The only device I have consistently good results with are my schiit modi and magni that are either connected via SPDIF or usb it only occasionally glitches if my phone is near the cable but that is to be expected
Can FP usb 1.0 be connected on motherboard's usb 2.0 connector? Usb 2.0 is 5×2 pins (1 ground pin and one empty) meanwhile usb 1.0 is 5×1 pins (with 1 ground)
I guess it's possible... (And yes I know I won't get the same speed as 2.0)
Just wanted to know if I can plug 2 usb 1.0 on a 2.0 connector
From what I can read, 1.0 and 2.0 headers are the same
So you might get 2.0 speeds through the front panel
Ah
But yeah the should work... Oke
scrolling in safari on my mx master mouse is not smooth at all - is there a way to fix this? i have "smooth scrolling" enabled in the logi options software but this doesnt seem to change a thing
same in other broswers like chrome and edge not just safari*
Hi my laptop doesnt have 5.1 capability but I want to use my 5.1 with it, how would I attempt to achieve this
It can do virtual surround but thats not what Im aiming for
Because I plug in my 5.1 via 3.5mm on my laptop and it only shows two channels for stereo (R/L) but on my pc it shows the 5.1 channels
Would getting an external audio interface help with this?
get pencil mic or large diaphragm condenser
what a paencim mic
pencil
is that like a sm57
maybe i get a better mic when i sell old keyboard
nah pencils are the small condensers like the rode nt5 and sE Electronics sE 8
they are often used for instrumental recording and can have very nice detail, they also offer them in matched pairs often so stereo recording can be done accurately
although pencils are not always the best for vocals since they are sensitive and often have plosive issues
i mean if i end up getting a mic its gonna be for instrument and for voice
nah its find discord, i didnt need to hear the audio anyways
Are cyberpower ups (cyberpower bu1000e) relaible? Planning to buy one today..
Should be ok if you're only planning on using 600W or less peak power. If you exceed that it might overheat.
I use a cyberpower ups for one of my servers works fine
That one in particular is only rated for 600W draw from the wall though
A bit low, but it can still cover a broad range of pcs
Didnt understood what u said here... Please explain... My pc specs are
I3 10105f
8gb ddr4... Will buy another 8gb soon.
Asus Cerberus Gtx 1050ti
450w corsair vs450 psu
And a normal 19inch 60hz monitor..
So will this ups be ok for me... I already bought it...
Yes that PC won't use enough power to overload the UPS
Basically my ups has 600w of support... And my total load is 450w..
Your actual load will probably be lower than the 450W the power supply can give, that's just a theoretical max without risking things
So the PC running at ~300W plus the monitor using maybe 25 you're far below the max the UPS can do.
What would you guys reccomend for a mic around 100 usd?
How noisy is your room?
A budget xlr dynamic mic, mixer, mic stand, and XLR cable should be under $100 and will give you better quality than any "gaming microphones"
i wouldnt
id rather get a good 50$ mic arm and a 50$ usb mic
then u can at least have so good things if u choose to upgrade
cheap mic arms suck
and id assume cheap everything would not be the best long term
Just a mic reccomendations since I already have a mic arm.
q2u is nice
Q2u is a nice starter. Neat king bee or worker bee if you fancy and have xlr interface.
Room nose is also something to consider
Room is pretty quiet.
Loudest thing my room has is my pc, but that is still pretty quiet
then ye I'd say a q2u (for dynamic) or a elgato wave 1 (for a condenser) could be good options
From the website of whoever made the chip, if it's like a fenvi branded pcie adapter that has an ax200, you'd go to Intel and grab the ax200 drivers
what are the best wireless earphones
looking for good sound quality
i got the at2020 connected to a Scarlett Solo works amazing!
Anyone know what pcie wifi card is reccomend for Ubuntu Linux 22.04? My current pcie wifi card is not working with linux.
What one do you have to start with? Most of the time there's a driver, it just might not be in the kernel.
I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS @white flame
I meant what WiFi card
Oh
Ubit AX3000e is my current wifi card
Ok that's an AX200 chipset card so the standard Intel drivers should work. You'll need kernel version 5.1 minimum.
Copy the files in this tarball into /lib/firmware

Hi, I am looking for recommendations for affordable over-ear noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones. I really love the AirPods Max, but they are a bit out of my budget. Does anyone have reccs?
What's the budget?
Sony wh-1000xm3 and xm4's usually go on sale refurbished for pretty cheap
Maybe like $250>
Yeah, I think refurbished ones are usually about $150-$180
I've had one for almost a year and a half with no issues
Crusty Ass Goodwill Keyboard™️
Take out the screws - seperate it from the membrane.
- Dishwasher the keys and their plastic chassy.
- Wash the membrane soap and water.
-
- Same with the board.
Dry it out and slap it back together.
Dont knock an extra keyboard - you might need it one day.
That is vile no one gonna buy that garbage
Membranes are gross
evangelion keyboard 🙀
thats a nice looking weight
@dire tartan
I have like 3 extra keyboards
They do come in handy
I have a neat little ps2 keyboard I use for benching
Is that the tp60

is this the one ur making
1 of many
bruh
whats that lance
Ye a standard router shouldn’t have too much overheating issue, although a wifi router might not be so optimal, might have some signal blockage
how little would i have to spend to have okay speakers
pc
I have a pair of edifier bt1700 I bought for $120 refurbished off their website
Has Bluetooth and comes with a small remote control
But they're pretty big, I wouldn't have them on a desk
good budget wireless mouse?
orochi v2 price has been nice
I bought the orochi v2
Very nice
Also very chuckable, if you're one for raging.
Luckily I'm not
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-24-ips-led-fhd-freesync-monitor-hdmi-vga-black/6362423.p?skuId=6362423 how is this for a second monitor?
can confirm this mouse is amazing.
I bought a steering wheel to play forza and some other games and I was wondering if it was any good for a starter got it for 80 it is a Ferrari t80 488 gtb
Only downside is it doesn't have force feedback, it won't be as immersive. And from what I could find, the wheel only turns 270 degrees.
Most entry level wheels are ~900 degrees.
Did you buy it from a retailer?
.
Do you think it will be bad?
Almost all wheels have force feedback, but that would be personal preference.
I think the t150 and g27 are the bare minimum recommended wheels.
Well the bad thing is since I used honey for like deals and stuff they gave me a deal if I used a gift card I would save 6 bucks and I bought A game stop gift card
But I did save 6 bucks which was nice
But I’m new to it so I think I will keep it and if I wanna get a new one I will
what wireless headphones would you guys recommend for ~$140? bluetooth would be preferred, but i dont need it
Anyone know any good PCIe wifi adapters?
I need one that can support up to something like 900mbps
megabits
EPOS GSP 600 if you want to just plug in and use it
thanks, ill check it out. is it good for gaming?
I use it personally and it's pretty good
alright nice
you can find it on amazon for ~$98
I used to have a Steelseries Siberia V2 but those are discontinued and mines kicked the bucket after 3 years
The new headphones with sorround sound and all that is just annoying to mess with and usually has issues with software
So plug and play with the EPOS GSP is pretty good
alright cool, thanks!
someone help this man out for helping me, idk about wifi adapters xd
Yes I'm moving rooms soon
debating just finding coaxial cables and extending it to the new room
Oh and if you didn't know the EPOS is just Sennheiser's gaming line up basically just threw in a mic and what not
If you have issues with background sounds but you have an RTX card, use RTX voice and that should iron it all out
Any ax200 offerings off wegg or Amazon
ah i have a separate mic anyway, and an AMD card. thanks tho
cool cool
thank you
Anyone know a decent sub $200 dac, already have a schiit heresy so should I just go with a schiit stack
schiit stack sounds logical here
Schiit stack always makes me lul
Zen dac V2 can also be worth looking into
Razer huntsman analog, or apex pro full?
Currently using a keychron c2 for typing and thinking of getting something for gaming
hm
i mean, if it's for just gaming
you probably can't go wrong with either
analog is just nice for making small adjustments in fps games and stuff
This Schiit really do work
lol
def hyper x if you really need a "gaming keyboard"
def not gonna make ur aim better but who knows
I want to buy some headphones to play but at the same time listen to some music and I am a fan of the hyper x brand and I don't know which one is better in terms of sound quality between cloud 2, 7.1 or alpha, which one do you recommend? is that they have experimented with the previous brand or if they recommend another model of a different brand is also valid
cloud 2 is the best out of the 3
anyone got any recommendations for soundbars/speakers
Klipsch Promedia 2.1
@queen sigil what do you use for clipping games? nvidia shadowplay is starting to break more and more and its getting annoying
mmm, doesnt seem you can record desktop with it unless im stupid
will stick with it for now i guess
@timber ridge got a hyken mesh and damn its so much nicer than my old 90$ amazon gaming chair 😩
I haven't heard that word in a long time.
Along with swalls
I'm seeming to get I think deadspots on my mousepad, and hoping not mouse sensor dying, but obviously i plan on washing the mousepad, is there anything else I can do that might help?
Should i try playing on just my desk for a while to see if i get the deadspot things to see if it's the mouse or the pad?
best fps headsets?
Budget? @proud mica
Anybody recommend a great KVM switch for three or four computers, with USB 4?
USB 4 stuff barely exists, something niche like that won't be out for a couple years I'd guess.
Ngl most kvm switches i see look pretty sketch, i was looking for one a while ago but couldn’t seem to find the right one for me
so um my i key came out and i cant get it back in any tips, M1 macbook pro
Wdym?
Don't they have those flat keys
I would assume you kinda push the key back on
For what flat keyboard laptops I've used that usually did it
Dunno apple tho
Hard to get a good pic but
it has like the "hook" thing
i try top first but it doesnt stay
Bottom first?
thats the squishy part
Ah
is it dumb to glue it in
Forgive me I ain't an apple person
Could work?
I assume it's the squishy part that actually matters to be pushed down
yes
Gluing it could probably be fine if you don't get any inside the MacBook itself
ehh quick google shows that its not conductive
True
look up a video, macbook keyboards are not straight forward there are a few latches you have to reattach before trying to press it in
glue might lock up the mechanism and make it hard or impossible to press
test the mouse on a different pad or on the desk to see if it still works because some sensors at times are just incompatible with certain mousepads and will at times have issues or it could just be an issue with the sensor itself
also make sure your mousepad after cleaning isnt like starting to become deformed or have weird lumps/dips or anything
yeah i tried everything,, I think they broke and I have to order new ones
also any reason why my 3 key light is so much brighter
USPS guy didn't drop mouse off today, Endgame requires signature confirmation
He looked frustrated on the doorbell cam though
Maybe I'll give him a nice cold gatorade tomorrow
Oh yeah carriers HATE needing signature confirmation.
If it's not out for delivery in the morning stop by the local branch and pick it up. Bring the slip they left you.
Dude UPS always ignores the signatures lol
This is the first time I think USPS has ever required a signature though
UPS specifically instructed drivers to skip signatures due to covid, going as far as disabling the option in their devices.
The weird thing is that for some reason my UPS account was set up to leave packages at the management office, I live in a house lol
So for a few times, the drivers didn't deliver because they couldn't find the office
Will do thanks, i mean I've been using my g403 with the qck heavy for like 4 years? With no issues so i highly doubt its that they don't work well together
From what i can tell it was just dirt or something on the mousepad that got washed off
So I went and listened to some samples of the headphones you recommended, and I really like them. But I also tried the Sony WH-XB910N, and I think I may have liked the sound profile a little better. Do you think those would be a good choice?
I've never heard of them, but if you liked them, get them instead. Audio is subjective 👍
I have the wh WH900N, i assume the 910n is a newer version, i really like my 900n's
anyone on?
usb upstream 3.0, anyone have a recommendation for one ive been looking on amazon and all the ones ive seen have horror story reviews
it's just a usb type b cable
you can basically get any that's not suspiciously cheap
I'm looking for a Bluetooth/wireless headset that I can use on my PC/Phone. And I need it to have either a retractable mic or a removable mic. And under $180
Any recommendations?
no
Nvm, found one. Razer thresher
is this router actually good https://www.newegg.com/asus-gt-axe11000/p/N82E16833320478?Description=router&cm_re=router-_-33-320-478-_-Product&quicklink=true. I'm having pretty bad performance on quest 2 airlink with gigabit ethernet and whatever $150 router my parents got
ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000
Yes but I'd get something cheaper unless you're going to have 50+ devices including 24/7 things like high definition security cams.
$250 or so is a good sweet spot
Sus seller
i could get it on amazon for $350
All the reviews say they suck at shipping lol
think i might go for this one, thoughts? im a noob when it comes to routers https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GT-AX11000-Tri-Band-Aiprotection-Compatible/dp/B07MRD1LDZ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1R2RGWIWQZAY9&keywords=ASUS%2BROG%2BRapture%2BGT-AX6000&qid=1661120106&sprefix=asus%2Brog%2Brapture%2Bgt-ax6000%2Caps%2C69&sr=8-2&th=1 ASUS ROG GT-AX11000

theres literally no brand on my current router idk what it is
at that kinda price amplifi might be nice but uh
iirc there's some good 200$ offerings for just a router and not mesh system
it would just be for my room we have a few others througout the house
is mixing fine?
this was what I was thinking about
https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Nighthawk-6-Stream-Router-RAX50/dp/B082X17B8P/
Built with the latest generation Wi-Fi technology, the NETGEAR Nighthawk AX6/6-Stream AX5400 Wi-Fi Router provides up to 4 times more network capacity as compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802. 11ac). Enjoy consistent and powerful signal strength to all your connected devices and superior performance for concu...
In that case you definitely don't need an overpriced "gaming" router, and upgrading the house to mesh or using powerline Ethernet would be the direction I would go.
ehh im a teen doubt i can convince my parents to change the whole network
I feel like mixing might have weird consequences but dunno for sure
The network is only as strong as the weakest point
single mesh system would be nice though, amplifi can be nice
we have gigabit ethernet which I plug into the route right?
I'd really get a gigabit powerline kit, should be $100-150
so this plugs into wall, plug in ethernet wire --> wifi?
but how will my quest 2 get wifi?
router
There's some kits that have a WiFi extender on one end if wireless is literally the only way to connect
thats really far though.
mesh system might still be the best bet tbh
https://www.newegg.com/tp-link-tl-wpa7617-up-to-1gbps/p/N82E16833704642
Plus
https://www.newegg.com/tp-link-tl-pa7017-up-to-1gbps/p/375-0094-000D5R
Then you've got a gigabit powerline connection directly to the Ethernet on your main router, which connects to a wireless AC1200 access point on your end. All for under $100.
ill look it over thanks
I have pciex1 on mobo the x16 gas gpu in it. Is there an adapter for x1 to x16 for ssg?
Y not
This should be fine for connecting a mic too right?

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right section but I was hoping to get some suggestions on how to go about setting up a pc and laptop with 3 monitors. the laptop is for work and the pc will be primarily for gaming/youtube. 2 monitors are standard 60hz while the 3rd is 1080p 144hz. Are KVM switches what I am looking for? if so, any recommendations?
You need to change your profile pic to be in this server
How are you trying to distribute your monitors?
Like 3 monitors all for the PC or sharing or what?
Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I need all 3 monitors for the laptop. I dont have a need to run more than one monitor for the pc. however, i would like to be able to toggle between the two while both are on. While i'm working on the laptop, I may be using the pc for music or podcasts.
If you're looking to be able to switch between using laptop or desktop for the third monitor, a single display out kvm switch with 2 inputs will work
going through a bunch of my cable piles, didnt realize i still had all my old mice
goin back to pretty much my start into pc gaming for the most part
although a long long time ago i had a wireless ps2 logitech one, think that ones gone though
not really, just super worn out
i'm pretty sure they're decent if you like pretty tactile switches
Thank you for the response man!🙌
Think this is somewhere more than mid level tactility so see some theremingoat or sum other stuff see if it has some leaf tick
Or probably not i dont really remember it being slamdered besides sera disappointed coz of how this was advertised/reviewed lol
give me that ibm mouse so i can mod it to be a super light mouse
$30
Really good keyboard for Mac and pc ? For long hours and good typing feel
K2 or k3 ?
whichever is to your liking
Anyone know a set of white keycaps that would fit into my gamakay tk68?
Akko ASA bow or the milky white XDAs on amazon/aliexpress
Ok thanks I’ll take a look at them
Can you send a link?
hi
Corsair CH-9226765-NA K55 RGB PRO Gaming Keyboard
What switch this like red or blue etc?
and this Corsair CH-9226715-NA K55 RGB PRO XT Gaming Keyboard and Corsair CH-910D019-NA K60 RGB PRO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
k55 is rubber dome, not mech
k60 apparently uses cherry viola
huh, it's just fake mech lol
so all in all, both are simply membrane
k60 just pretends to be mech
I don't want it like the blue switch
k60 is fake mech also
i know
it's not blue switch
its not like any mech switch because its membrane
quieter than brown or so i've heard, but it's nowhere near as good
keychron can be easily had for that price
and they come pre lubed, so noise isn't very bad
has rgb options too
like you could do womier if you want the rgb
^
royal kluge if you dont like keychron style
i want a really well known brand
i mean like asus - redragon - Corsair big brands
those suck in general
that's why we don't recommend them
they offer nothing in value at all
they're often proprietary, or just lacks any customizability
and it makes doing research on em pretty painful
Hey reddragon can actually be better than corsair, they got a few hotswap boards
Asus is also tiny in keyboards
if you worry about durability of the keebs
It's known to us as a brand that offers cheap options
something like this can be nice if you stick to reddragon
https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-K628-PRO-Hot-Swappable-Mechanical/dp/B09ZNQMWH6/
the only main thing that ever fails is the switches
Keychron kinda just does it better imo
which you can easily replace on hotswap boards
with a switch puller
non hotswap ones requires soldering, or well, buying new keeb altogether lol
yes, keychron offers that
I mean I don't want to change switch right now
^
yes redragon is a good choice
that reddragon keeb is not 75% btw that's just weird
ah
i just really want compact keeb with numpad
I mean, guess that works for you
im using tkl rn
by the way, hotswap isn't that small of a thing, even corsair is offering it now.... except they're making you spend 180$ on a keyboard that's 100$ max
lol
100$ is being generous
no hotswap a bit sad
no hotswap also means you can't lube the switches if its squeaky and scratchy
and if stabs pcb mounted cant mod those either
tfw i have squeaky stabs on my non hotswap
rip
only right one on spacebar
so it's minor annoyance
well if i really want to
i can take the keycaps off and remove top plate
then spray lube the stab, maybe
or just lube it up externally
wish you luck with spray lubing, dunno if it'll really work for stabs though
