Apparently Koolance makes 30 and 54mm thick rads with a FPI of 30!
The idea of downsizing to an ITX board is becoming more appealing...
Idk, ❤️ my giant View71 TT case
Put together with everything inside it RN it weighs about 60 lbs
I love my torrent though it's to big to bring as carry-on and after having it and my stuff get damaged as checked luggage twice I must downsize before something worse happens
Yeah.... i made no plans of ever traveling with this thing unless i'm moving
Lmao @hidden crane @wide parrot speaking of high powered fans.

52 dBA though 💀
That's gonna sound like twice as loud as an arctic fan at ~40 dBA
xD lmao yeah I have no intention of actually using it especially when I already have a ton of P12 pros on hand
Chat should I get a corsair 4500X to replace my 3500X
Why are you swapping cases?
Do you have any reason for swapping?
Decided it will be far more practical to just make a custom suitcase with sufficient padding inside and design the pc case with the heavy parts in dedicated compartments to keep everything secure because otherwise it's going to be hell going through TSA not to mention lugging a 40lb pc around by hand.
Anyone mind looking at my case and telling me if my PSU would fit
What case and PSU model? Once you know if your Case supportss SFX, SFX-L, or ATX (the size standard) power supply units, check what your PSU size is whether it is SFX, SFX-L, or ATX. If both are ATX, check the PSU length supported by the case and the length of your ATX PSU.
I am just saying man….sometimes when you just outright ask questions people get upset
Sorry for delay.
In the middle of a conversation maybe but in text channels like these you should just leave your entire question
@surreal rapids Check the steps I sent. This will answer your question.
More people would be annoyed by not just asking the question
To the point someone made that site and spends money to keep it running
Whenever you're online, just ask your question
You don't need any permission as long as you're asking in the correct space
E.g. don't ask about ram in the food channel
Only exception to this is if you're in a server or forum specifically stating that they do not want to provide support
first
What is the connector called that connects from the wall to the PSU.
The name of it I can use to buy one
power cord? 😄
Yeah.
Same cord?
yes.
😄
Best case under £60 please 😃
Aerocool Cyclon mini or normal
if you dont like rgb go for the CS-105 which has a blue or red fan in the front
Cool! Do you have that one?
if you dont like glass get the CS-102 or the V2X
i dont but i will
when i upgrade
aerocool also sells an rgb controller
if you have tons of rgb
they also sell fans with one color or rgb
so cases and fans are all good with them
they also sell psu
oh if you are going on a more premuim build get the Quartz case
ill check other websites
where do you live?
they have a manual if you need it
You can return and it is like new
thoughts on the h700i ninja?
Picks or it didn't happen
thoughts? you're paying 70% extra for a streamers name on it.
and that is just lame.
overall the regular h700i is decent.
If that's the case I'd say what box said
Never buy something that has a increase in price just because a name is on it
You get a decent inexpensive case and expensive hardware for the heart of that PC
That's just wrong in my opinion
it's painted blue
If it was $20 it's ok
But even a 50% increase.... They're robbing the people
lol.
It doesn't look like it's got enough Swiss cheese to cool the thing
I still can't believe the amount of crap I've managed to cram in this inwin 101c
Lol
2 3.5in drives, 2 ssds.
buncha other crap
and that brand new atx board
along with the 280 clc lol
doublesided sticky gorilla tape for the win
E-ATX full tower chassis with three tempered glass windows and three preinstalled 140mm Riing Plus 14 RGB fans.
My future

or you could just do what every other miner has been doing for over a year and buy some ASICs

I found a case on NE site that fits 2 mobos. However $650 is not in my budget. Any other cases for 2 PC setups in one case? Also, does NE offer any Desks that you can build the PC INTO the desk?
lian li has a line of desks you can build in but i have no idea if theyre on newegg
theres also a company called vector but again, probably not on newegg
cases that can house 2 computers will probably always be more expensive, there is a couple of cases that do it tho
i think you can put 2 computers in the corsair 1000D
and theres some phanteks cases that can do it
and the thermaltake core w200
theyre all pretty expensive cases tho
Yes you are right the 1000D from corsair can fit 2 pc's in it linus did a video I think.
Stack 2 cases on top of each other a lil duck tape and some caulking they’d never know 😂😂😂😂
.
Anyone know how good the NZXT H500i is?
good
near as I can tell, @reef lagoon the only difference between the H500 and H500i is the H500i has RGB lighting and separate fan control
this review of the H500 should be applicable if you want to know about noise and airflow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HK5Aulw7YI
We review NZXT's H500 case, which ships alongside the H500i, and takes the place of the S340 (Elite). The H500 has interesting airflow and thermal characteri...
@reef lagoon @reef lagoon
Anyone have a P350x and have comments about it?
hello everyone, i was looking for some help. I have a PC that needs a new PSU and i cant seem to find one that will work. the motherboard has a 24 pin, the GPU needs 2 6 pin connections, and the CPU needs an 8 pin connection. the old PSU was a 500W. any reccomendations?
i was hoping to not spend over $50
that one isnt bad at all. it seems like it will work. however is there a difference between PCI-E and SPCI-E? lol sorry ive only built 1 computer and i got a modular PSU
because that one has 1 PCIE 6 pin and 1 SPCI-E 6+2 pin. if there is no difference i will just not use the +2 pin because i only need the 2 6 pins
the 2 6 pins are for the GPU
No difference other than the little 2 pin connector
great thank you very much! ill order it right now.
@grim saffron check pms
@stray abyss you said in general chat you didnt really like the psu in my build (the Corsair - CXM (2015) 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply) and i actually didnt really like that either but i settled on it after not being able to find anything else
do you have anything else you would suggest?
so im thinking about swapping out my case
anyone have a budget case that would fit a MSI - B450M GAMING PLUS Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard?
phanteks is a good suggestion to keep in mind
I love my phanteks but it's not exactly budget oriented
Yes
was a little over 100usd for my Enthoo Pro TG
nice case for the money though, I like it
I know they do have a few cheaper options as well
Don’t you think it might be just a little late to be responding to E-knock?
the Enthoo is a full tower, no need for something that big
nope
the chat never stops scrolling, people come back to answers later/next day or w/e
it's 6am here
Then why am I awake
you're obviously on the left coast lol
Yup
is it true that this case has serious airflow and cooling problems with higher end components?
Depends
Does it have a fan at the top?
And vents at the bottom?
If it sucks air through the bottom and exhausts it out the top it might not
one 140mm on the bottom, two 140mm on the front. the IO is on the top, basically no vent on the top
It probs will
Overheat
One of the review said something like that and its such a small area
i'm expecting to build a pc with at least a ryzen 7 3700X and a geforce rtx 2060
and i love the size of that case, but cooling will likely be a problem
Do u have a budget?
The corsair one is small and it has stuff like that but its expensive
yea there might be some cooling problems but i dont think it would hurt any of the components
well, effectively anywhere between $1,300 and $1,800 would be good. I've already started a build idea. I'll link it in a moment
note: the ryzen 2700x is a placeholder
and i haven't chosen a motherboard or ram yet because i'm waiting on the new ryzen processors
Yeah the corsair one more than 2k dollars
if i would of waited i could of bought the new ones
i have a case listed but it's not ideal since i'm looking for that small form facter that mini itx offers, but if it's at the expense of cooling i'm not for it
And you shouldnt need that many fans
are you going to overclock?
i'd like to have the potential to overclock yes
you could probably get a closed loop water cooling system for your cpu
i've heard great things about noctua
i mean, i'm looking at making this build fairly portable so i'm not so sure about having water cooling
closed loop should be a problem with portability
Shouldnt
yea sorry
Ok
that's fair yea
You could get that an even put the noctuas on it
they have smaller options too
my friend has a closed loop and takes his everywhere with no problems
that's good to know yea
what is everyone else running as far as a motherboard form factor?
I heard theres very few x570 mAtx motherboards being made
Lol I still have my first pc. My motherboard is the ASUS AMD😭😭
The one i want is ATX
ROG
Umm lemme check
i'm planning on micro atx at the moment
yea i have a micro atx on my second build
im planning on a small case
im planning on this one
Is cable management in that good?
i dont exactly know yet
honestly, i really want to do a really square-cased mini-itx build with a 200mm front fan, ryzen 3800x, rtx 2070
that would be awesome
im getting it next week so ill update y'all
Just make your own case
that cooler master case was one i was seriously considering actually
yea in my first build i have a 2070
It probs wouldnt be that hard to make your own case
But to make it look decent
Thats the challnge
i wish i had the experience to work with metal for a project like that
Just use wood
that, i can do
you just have to make sure all of your parts fit and if you're going to upgrade
I kinda want to try it now
same here
my friend is painting and customizing his to a rocket league theme
all i have to say is that i'm trying to imagine a case that is very sleek and streamlined. a square being made of two dimensions and the third being longer than the first two... imagine like a square airduct
i was thinking more of a polished wood look
Yeah
massive fans on both ends
you need a wide case
Theres a micro atx case with a 200mm front fan in it being made
My first case is a Cougar MX330-G
Should I order more 120mm fans or nah?
do it
Probs
I don’t want a wind tunnel but I also don’t want my first rig to burst into flames
what do you have rn?
Default case fans usually arent very good if the the case is cheaper
yea i replaced mine
legit sketching custom case ideas rn
i would buy the parts then build to fit
that's good advice tbh
thats not bad
this is from Cougar’s official website
do you only have the one in it rn?
Mhm
Is the front closed off?
I only took it out of the box
Up
Haven’t messed inside yet
Hoping to win this
i would for sure add two noctua or corsair fans to the front
Cause I don’t have my motherboard yet, nor my GPU
So I haven’t done anything in it yet
besides see if my PSU fit my case, which thank goodness it does
yea
I think the front is open so u could have 2 front intake
How much are corsair fans?
do you want plainfans or rgb
you can buy a twopack
I want a bit of colour but plain fans would work fine too
I got a gtx 1050 ti lol overclocked and i3
do you want a full color spectrum or a single preferred color
I found $9.99 red-lighted ones
140mm?
Probs 120
yea i found them
Send pic and I’ll see if its them
@acoustic lily Dual pack is only 140mm on Amazon
So I have to order them individually
Should I do two reds or one red one blue/white
what case you got?
i have a link for you, one moment
actually, yeah i can't find two packs of single color led fans on newegg
i do have this link for red fans
@copper tartan AORUS B450 Pro Wifi
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/64rZhy
My part list
the MX330 and MX330-G are the exact same
Just one is acrylic and the other is tempered glass
which are you planning to get
I have my case already
No HDD, GPU, or motherboard tho
other than that I have everything else
have you ordered them?
gotcha
Accepting donations tho lol
All jokes and half-jokes aside, I haven’t ordered those three parts for that sole reason alone
i honestly wish i could help
if i were a streamer or youtuber with a lot of money to throw around, i'd legit just on a whim buy you a $20,000 pc
no solicitation for donations please
owo its pepe
UwU
I just bought those fans. I love them
@cerulean carbon those are going to look great together 👌
My entire cart has all my parts plus those two fans @acoustic lily
sharp breath inwards through teeth
lol, solid
o u c h
out of that $339.53
Motherboard went up in price to $124.99
GPU is $132.95
HDD is $48.61
Both fans combined are around $33 rounding up
My HDD was $40
Then it went up in price
I might just ask my father to get me the exact same HDD from the MicroCenter near where he works for $39.99
Brb
And now we wait
why did Phanteks stop makin titanium green cases?
@sacred lava why would you want a green case?
Oh tru tru
Best case for ~$50 with good cable management?
if you go 10 dollars more, the phanteks p300 is a decent case
Phantek cases are pretty but they choke front air so badly.
cut the front out
I run a Phanteks P400 Eclipse, chokes air so bad, usually just remove the front panel all together when playing intensive games
dust time
Sooo much dust
I’ve always played on computers with the side panel off 💪
maybe @loud arch of ThermalTake can help
they dont have any links to any online stores on that page oof
@hushed yoke https://www.ttstoreusa.com/product/toughpower-pf1-argb-1050w-platinum-tt-premium-edition/

??
Platinum efficiency is crazy expensive
yeah
i just really like the design of the psu
specifically the rgb lighting on the side
my case is gonna have a psu cover but it has an opening to show off the psu
so its basically used to hide cables
dang 260
Just find something similar plat doesnt make a big difference
aaaa im being picky but the rgb is nice and also i like that the psu and case brand match
both being thermaltake
You can get a thermaltake psu RGB 650W for $99 or 850W for $130, both gold
Those are both RGB i mentioned
No worries, it happens
@hushed yoke Hey man, sorry so late.
The PF1 is hella expensive since it is a platinum rated psu. keep a lookout for a gold-rated version coming soon!
oh nice! can’t wait @loud arch Thanks!
I'd accept your beard as payment
take it to a salon, get it made into a beard I can wear daily
+4 Charisma, +4 intelligence
oh yea while ur online is the gold rated one gonna come in the exact same lighting config too? i love the rgb side panel and top fan
Yessir 😉
niceee
will it by any chance also come in a 850w config? sorry for all the question 😂
should be, it will cover all the common wattage below 1000
Do yall know a good purple case
I expected nzxt to have one but they didnt
Lmao
DIYPC DIY-F2-P Black / Purple SPCC Micro ATX Mini Tower Computer Case https://m.newegg.com/product/N82E16811353097?m_ver=1
theres one with with some purple
idk if ur gonna be able to find an all purple case
thats the only one i could find on newegg using the color filter
Yeah thats the one i seen
other than those dont see alot unless you go full rgb and make them purple
@native flint oh here is nzxt but they are sold out https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Tpp323/nzxt-h440-matte-whitepurple-atx-mid-tower-case-ca-h442w-w2
Gracias
@hushed yoke
what do you mean fan up or fan down?
it is designed to go down, but hope your tower is not resting on the floor and has legs
That way or the other way
It has little stubby legs
needs to go down for ventilation
Okay, so it fits right side up
If the case has a vent in the bottom then put the fan towrds the bottom. If not then fan up
Since the screws fit right side up only
important always pull air in from the front of your case and out the top and back... the hot air is in the back of your computer.. shortest distance out is to the back
recommend 1/2 fans front, 1 back and 1 top
picture of screw holes?
That does not seem right. Please send picture
They look right to me
Wait I meant those flipped lol
the holes look just fine.. do not tighten any screw all the way until all screws are started
that way you can adjust the screw holes
well, you have to line up the screw holes.. case may be different
what kind of case it?
what psu is it
That seems fine, if the holes are off a little just shimmy the PSU a little bit as you put the screws in and dont tighten them down all the way.
@subtle grotto the second one is where they all line up
they all line up in 1st one too
yeah one sec
@cerulean carbon its normal for a screw to go in the little lip like the bottum left if thats the one you think doesn't line up
they don't?
why?
I thought they all went in the little holes
@subtle grotto Is there a reason?
@cerulean carbon maybe easiest way to make it universal for cases idk all it needs to do is hold it in position
so three screws would do the job holding it in the case?
the 4th screw will fit somewhere as darkhero said
it just might not be in a hole per say
and be on one of the indents
@cerulean carbon 4th screw still goes in where i circled just in lip/indent
still holds it from going left and whatnot
can someone help explain what happens when a PSUs wattage doesn't meet the recommended wattage of a GPU?
now generally PSUs will ramp up beyond their rated maximum, but that's also outside their peak efficiency
it's not a good idea, especially if it's super far out of spec
best bet is to use this https://www.evga.com/power-meter/
and put in the specs you plan to use to see if you're really in spec
Thanks. And I did try google and got a bunch of varied answers. This was helpful though I appreciate it.
So I have a question for all of you. I'm new to pc gaming and I'm wondering what you guys think of the build I have. Is it solid or does it need some work? I have a MSI Geforce GTX 1050 Ti, Intel core I5 9400F, MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk Motherboard, Corsair vengeance Ram 3000, And a 1 tb hard drive, And a 240Gb ssd, Plus the evga 500W, And a NZXT S340 ATX case
how much ram is it
also if you can afford it get a better graphics card if youre doing gaming
i have a 1050ti
it can handle most stuff on medium to high settings, but some games i have to tone it down just so it will work
also you might wanna get a larger capacity psu for better efficiency
but other than that, pretty good
nah don't need anything above a 500w psu nowadays. parts are becoming more efficient
make sure the 1tb hard drive is at least 7200rpm or its gonna be real slow
well im saying if he upgrades the parts i recommended
even then, you could throw in a 1070 and it won't draw more than 425 watts and that's really pushing it, which i doubt he'll do.
Ya, the ram will be 16gb (because I'm getting 2 sticks worth 8gb each) and Ya My next plan is to get a better graphic card within a few months. I'd like to upgrade to a 2080 within a couple of months.
i'll tell ya now, if you're looking for the best bang for your buck gpu, the 2080 isn't it but if you don't care how much you spend, go for it dude. it's a fantastic card for gaming.

So I understand my graphics card is pretty old for the rest of the pc but right now I'll have to deal with what I have until I have the $. What would you recommend for the best bang for my buck?
finding a used 1070. if you're looking to buy new, a 2060 will have roughly the same if not slightly better performance if you're not ray tracing.
^ or if possible a 1070 ti
2060 is greeat card
i was looking at a 1070 but now they went up super high price. like 500 bucks now...... i get 144 fpps on 1080p ultra with my 2060. running at a cool 68c
there was a 1070 on newegg for $300 but theyre outta stock now
but yea
2060 is better than the 1070 and cheaper
they had one on sale even yesterday for 500 bucks!!!!!!
1660ti is also a great deal right now
looking for something to match if not outperform the 1070 for a lower price, 1660ti is a good one to consider.
ide say its on par. not better tho
the 2060 is only slightly better than the non ti 1070
give it a mild overclock and it'll be perform pretty well.
oh yea
def.
i say the only cards worth it from nvidia are the 1660ti the 2060 and the 2080/ti
and like, not even saying this bc i'm on the newegg server but the 1660ti prices on newegg are genuinely really good
that two day shipping for maybe a ten dollar difference is worth it to me
yea zotac are better than there reputation would say
ive got the zotac 2060
runs super cool at 68c max but it wont overclock that high
silicon lottery ig
yea. but the highest oc ive seen on the webs is +115mhz and i was able toget that
zotac uses the reference pcb and power
zotac definitely oc's from the factory. it's probably why
no?
i mean, idk why they would
nvidia has been keping all the binned memory and turing chips for there reference cards
they are going to start rolling them out to companies now to put on there cards
hm
so along with the "super" /ti cards coming out... its just another smack on the head freom nvidia\
lol
to us who bought rtx before all this 😦
is "super" confirmed a card now?
i saw the super teaser but wasn't sure if it was gonna be a new product or just a new card lineup but cool if it is a new card
nvidia def. knows what there doing. with there staggered releaseing
they talked about it at computex
google it
Anyone seen any custom cable kits for evga supernova GQ 850 gold ??
They have a configurator on the page that lists all the units they can make cables for . Thanks for the info Theo !
no problem
Does anybody know a good website for custom psu cables and sleeves
Cable mod
Cable mod is God
what is a good budget mid tower case for gaming?
what's your budget
100 is your max?
yeah
aight
nzxt makes good cases
phanteks good, corsair, y'know
which company are you considering the most rn
hm
well its my first one im trying to build
got cpu, gpu ram and other stuff planned
just trying to save money to complete it but not sure of the case
btw is it better to wait for black friday/cyber monday to buy stuff or get it when things go on sale?
got it
think i can wait since i need to save money first lol
what ch is bet if i got general question on building pc?
kinda hard to go through each ch to ask question everytime lol
I think he's talking about in the discord
i know
thanks and seems to be at a nice price too
Anyone know anything about the Matrexx 30
heres a good pick
heres another one, idk if you want RGB lighting though
if you have a white build, this will go nicely with it
What about the g3 @hushed yoke ? Idk much about psu’s
that looks good too
evga is a good brand
make sure you get a fully modular PSU though
that means you can swap out cables in case one fails or something
also you can use custom sleeved cables if you want, just make sure you get the ones that are correct for your power supply
Yeah it is
the g3 comes with a 7-10 year warranty also
very nice
the thermaltake one i linked earlier also has a 10 year warranty
its also a bit cheaper
and it comes with rgb
I got a G3, it's a really great PSU.
Fully modular with more cables than you can shake a stick at!
o
so it lacks front mesh, but the side intakes are huge. do you think that could compensate for the lack of front mesh?
0
That looks plenty big enough for airflow
for sure
yay
good PSUs?
The EVGA supernova series is great.
Well what do you think would best fit my specs
GPU : GTX titan
CPU : AMD 8350 black edition (8 Core)
HHD : 2TB
SSD : 240gb
RAM : 32gb hyper x
Chassis : Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 ATX Mid-Tower
o.0
looks like quite a bottleneck you have there
idk the draw on that Titan, but 600W would probably be sufficient
there are decent wattage calculators online if you want to know the total draw of your system (theoretically)
but dang...a Titan paired with an 8350...
lol
aim for at least gold-rated efficiency imo
better internals, less heat, etc
what's up guys
i have a question about cable management
would the way i position aio tubes affect cooling?
yeah, not really
and it's pretty hard to kink them these days
yeah
specially with EVGA, they make those 'tube tuners
puts 90 degree bends on the soft tubing.

1000w psu is enough to run two 2080ti's right?
@bitter ruin
You should be good with an 850 unless you really really really want to push them harder than they should be.
hmm
1000 is definitely enough under any circumstance with any amount of equipment hooked up.
Overkill is fun.
"I use a 1200w for MY DUAL 2080TI."
Oh wait, wrongbenchmark.
Regardless.
1k is way more than enough.
yeah its not that different
they tried pressuring me into getting a 1200 for running a single 2080ti
1000w is basically protection from if the GPU power spikes.
Which is uncommon unless you buy an absolutely garbage aftermarket card.
?
his display froze so instead of just forcing a power down of the system, he thought it'd be a good idea to rip the gpu out with the system running
Yeahno.
Don't take any advice from those guys.
Too much money to know what's good for em.
i'll let them know lol
Best case for around $60 that’s around 15in long/tall (380mm)?
are you asking
yeah
rip this isnt a search engine
lol
15in is way too small
Hey so I just got a brand new pc yesterday from Newegg. While gaming about an hour ago it just shut down and won’t turn back on. When plugged in I can see an amberish light flashing where the Ethernet port is but that’s the only sign of power. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this. https://www.newegg.com/abs-computer-technologies-prism-s-ali287/p/N82E16883102718 this is the link to the computer I got.
@crimson ridge I would message one of the techies, mods, or staff with that question
@crimson ridge does it post
What does that mean @bitter ruin
Literally nothing happens when I try to turn it on. No fans or lights. Doesn’t start booting at all
did you double check to make sure all your power cords are properly seated?
my case, still working on it.
support for mini itx, micro atx, atx, and eatx.
I will add f-atx, later.
Nice!
That looks like a lot of work! Hope it comes out looking super cool :)
personally im a huge fan of the entire side panel being glass instead of just a little window but it still looks awesome
The Thermaltake H200 TG RGB‐ Stylish design. Attractive price. Our new H200 TG RGB mid-tower case fuses sleek design and RGB aesthetics without breaking the ...
Thoughts on this case?
I'm conflicted between this case and a corsair spec 04
@vocal cosmos Imo, I don't like it
I'm trying for as much airflow as possible
oh word
any one have a Corsair Crystal Series 680X RGB i would like to see more builds in this case before i get one
https://www.newegg.com/black-corsair-crystal-series-680x-rgb-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811139137 now the question is White or Black
i personally like white as it helps the rgb reflect and make it more c0l0rful
but its your preference
I like white too
@tawny palm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWIS9ILc3jY
You guys have asked for it again and again...well we're finally reviewing the NZXT H500i, the replacement for the NZXT S340. Is this budget-friendly pc case ...
That one looks really nice !
I got the white one and it does look amazing white against RGB but what’s crazy is the picture on Newegg makes the case look thin but in actuality it a fat case looks kind of stubby
do cases come with cable ties or do i need to get those separately?
they come with a few
but you might wanna get a pack of them just in case
they're pretty cheap
Alright; thanks
your motherboard should come with some
im pretty sure
Speaking of, I've always gotten zip ties with Corsair PSU's but they are always brittle and break. 😞
@safe umbra Is that the $200 Corsair case? If so could I maybe see a few more pics of your setup for different angles? I'm wanting to get a new PC case (Currently have a Corsair 500r white).
680-X
How's that PC treating you Shadow?
i was like are u gonna try putting that disc in there???
ohh box i got i little time with it now and for my first (other than the ibuypower one i had that i returned) it feels great
im still trying to figure so much out ...like how do i make the text size larger. When im using 4k why does the text shrink so much ..and a million others like that lol
lol
every one knows the size of a ps4 case so i figure use that,,
@flat eagle really appreciate you and @novel hinge helping me
i wouldve been lookin on youtube for hours
it froze up on me one time trying to load world at war in 4k guess i cant
It looks really nice. I'm in the market for a more boxy case, I have a tower right now). Is it cumbersome on top of you desk?
yeah a lot of that has to do with the actual game @safe umbra
different game engines do different things.
well i dont have much experience but i can tell you this in april i ordered a pc from ibuypoer, it was the same components as this one.. it kept overheating it was a mid tower and that was just slightly annoying on the desk so i sent it back to have them redesign it in another case a full size tower, and when that arrived it was a monster and it looked like kids assembled it. so long story even longer, i returned it for a refund and bought this
and the case feels perfect to sit on the desk its not in the way at all
box how do i make the type larger arghhhh i have a27 screen and i have to look 2' from it lol
ok i got it had to change size to 200% go figure
@safe umbra was there a restocking fee for the two refunds
@jovial furnace I have PMed you..
No because it was their fault the first build wasn’t right , but I did have to pay shipping . And let me tell you shipping a 80lb pc across country via ups ain’t cheap , to the sum of $257 and insurance was another $220
@jovial furnace
does anyone know how much the ryzen 5 3600 price is?
$199
Anyone have any case recommendations? under $100 and includes fans? My top choice is the Corsair SPEC-DELTA rn
hell yeah
That's a dope case tbh
ikr
i like the meshify c
DIYPC VisionII-BG Black USB3.0 Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case w/ Tempered Glass Panels (Front and Left Side), 4 x Green 33LED Light Fan (Pre-Installed)
$48 on Newegg
I've got a quick question - I'm building a new PC - I'm on the last two parts which is the CPU and Case. My CPU is going to be the Ryzen 3800x, however I have been preferential to the Corsair Air540 but the pricetag on that is just a little on the steep edge. Is it worth it or are there other case recommendations? I should clarify that RGB lighting isn't too big of an issue for me, my biggest issue is easy wire management.
I went with Lian Li PC-O11
My recommendation stands as the one above your post
Yeah I was looking at that one - would it fit neatly under a dorm room desk?
Any brands I should specifically stay away from?
@wooden yoke If it's going in your dorm room I'd go with the ugliest or most plain looking case you can find, less likely to get your computer stolen that way.
I would change schools or roommates if you have to worry about getting anything stolen from your dorm room....
I actually hadn’t thought of that. I was lucky enough to get a dorm of my own but still a good consideration
It fits under my desk but I don't know the hight of yours
@dusty marsh great choice!!
I cannot choose what case to get for a first build 😭
I keep finding cooler and cooler ones
@tawny palm i like this one
full length psu cover, rgb fans included, full size tempered glass, and space for cable management
Oo that looks nice too 😭
Man, that looks awesome. Love the purple
My suggestion is to get one with good space for cable management, and plenty of room for fans/radiators. That way you can stick with the same case as the years go by if/when you decide to upgrade. Big name brand (I.e. Corsair, NZXT, Cooler Master) cases are generally more refined/more reliable. But they’re also more expensive. Best advice is just to read reviews
im probably gonna get that coolermaster
the fans are rgb, not purple keep in mind
and theyre addressable
I’ve heard very good things about the Meshify C
It looks really clean and nice
Makes since with the larger price tag
could just be marketing images
Of they were just purple the price withdraw probably be a bit lower
*if
I'm gonna stop now. I can't do English. Too early
eh, id say thats a good price saying you get 4 fans, 3 of which are rgb, a psu cover, and a full size window
Cases’ base fan setup is generally wonky
I got all that for 49.99
you want a ThermalTake case.
it's fine.
so i decided to go with the coolermaster one because its visually similar
better airflow
terrible mistake.
and i like the psu cover better
You think that's a good case?
yes.
Dank I might get that one then
Thermal take are my new PSU peeps https://m.newegg.com/product/9SIAFSW8PX7238?m_ver=1 for only around 100 at the time
TT is my everything!
oh god here we go...
lol
😄
heh..
I did get a Kraken tho... no TT cooler this time around
Steve going to stab you.
but like
he disowned me after I bought my inwin 101c
i like trying to buy the same brands for case and psu but the thermaltake psu side is ugly
and the 20 mt has a cutout just for it
I have an NZXT case, so that doesn’t work well for me lol
AAAAAA
also that front glass panel is marketing
i saw a review and its a lot less tinted
you can see the fan and the plastic around it
well yeah.
Not a lot of reviews obviously, but this looks pretty good to me https://m.newegg.com/product/9SIAE868TN2374?m_ver=1
the coolermaster power button is rgb
ehhhh the thermaltake and coolermaster include all the fans i would need
but that looks decent
that name is terrible
never heard of that brand tho
Ik lol
I'm gonna get the corsair crystal 680x. I looove it.
that case is OP.
its soooo nice
there is one in #build-pics
😮
it's an absolute beast.
That case is expensive
relatively yes
I also like it much more than other cases. and the management and things its capable of.
exactly
Good mngment and aesthetics
in my case I'm running out of room.
why
Whats your case
Looks nice
I see dat 960 EVO 👀
heck yeee
back when I paid 127 dollars for 250gb of it
now you can get 1tb nvme for 100 😠
intel 660p :D
that samsung is a bit more reliable i think
or a better brand for storage idk
something about the samsungs are better
Jumping to #storage-devices to ask my question
I think people like the controller that samsung uses better, idk
I know that optane is the absolute fastest but too expensive
The samsung controller is good, so is the toshiba
but a lot of the speed of an ssd comes from its size
A larger ssd will almost always be faster
depends
so um i have this high pitched whine on my psu is there anyway to reduce or fix it
@kindred void Only while gaming right?
didnt we already go over this in general?
idk my memory is bad
anyways
no you cannot fix it
and if you open up the psu ur gonna die
We went over that with a different guy, @hushed yoke zlack
@hushed yoke @kindred void If it's a coil whine only during gaming you can fix it by having vsync enabled in the game as it caps your fps and puts less strain on the video card which means less strain on the psu which at least lessens, sometimes eliminates coil whine.
🤔 never thought about that
I know because my psu suffers from coil whine too. I spent many hours researching the issue.
i mean i assume if it only happened while he was gaming then he woulda mentioned that
but idk
granted simply setting a 60fps cap in game should help too. Also vsync fix doesn't work well if you have a high Hz monitor.
I guess we'll have to wait till he responds.
its a constant sound @scenic lance
About to start my first build just for streaming is this a good start??
@kindred void Did you just buy it or you've had it awhile?
had it for a while
it made the sound when i changed mobos
am3+ to am4
but ryzen uses less watts
than a fx
@signal saddle That's a good Mobo and case. You should wait and select your power supply last after you figure out all the other parts so you can then figure out how much wattage you need out of a power supply.
@scenic lance in my old mobo i was using a 4 pin connector for my cpu
now i plugged in an 8 pin
is that the problem?
Reason: Bad word usage
oops
said a poopy word not for kids
i remember cpu sockets having 8 pins.. . . ?
right?
let me check my pc lol
@kindred void you can try just the 4 pin in the 8 pin connector. it will easily fit in one side or the other. it MAY...fix your issue by some small chance.
@kindred void why would you have to unscrew the whole mobo to change the mobo power connector? that does not make sense
only reason i can think of is if he routed the cable under the mobo and then screwed the mobo down...which is not a good idea or way to hide cables.
lmao
who even DOES that
your gears must be c00c00 to do that lol
your brain that is
@scenic lance my mobo doesnt allow the hole for the cable to go through
cus the mobo blocks it
that's why you use the cutouts of your case.
good
blocks it
oh it's one of those setup's, I forgot about in a very select few cases a big mobo can block those access holes.
yea
i mean i can think of like atx mobos that can block a few
maybe
not sure about that i have a micro atx mobo
wifi atx mobos with a bit of rgb are expensive
so i just went with micro atx
@kindred void so are you sure you can't just unplug the cable, take apart the 8 pin plug into two 4 pins and just plug one in without unscrewing the mobo? you should be able to do it without moving the entire cable all around
though i wouldnt have minded if the mobo didnt have rgb, that's prob my only maybe regret of getting a micro atx mobo
usually the connector on an 8pin splits into two 4 pins. please check carefully
there would be a crease in the middle where the two 4 pins meet
@scenic lance what was your response to my post I lost it
"@signal saddle That's a good Mobo and case. You should wait and select your power supply last after you figure out all the other parts so you can then figure out how much wattage you need out of a power supply."
I have a full build list and it said just shy of 300
@scenic lance nope
@signal saddle oh, your picture only showed 3 items. That psu should work well then, good brand too.
@kindred void is that black connector actually labeled "cpu"
@scenic lance that's all I can buy at the moment lol
@signal saddle Oh i see, well those 3 things should work well for you to start with. good luck with your build.
@obsidian garden yea
@kindred void it is labeled cpu
@scenic lance
@obsidian garden
yeahhhhhhh
my fellow uphere man
👌
though im upgrading them to corsair fans along with more storage in the near future
so im prob gonna sell em on craigslist or whatever
or give em to someone that needs em
@kindred void Ok well I guess you can try that 4 pin cpu connector. Make sure it also is labeled "cpu" though. It should work as I've used a 4pin cpu connector in an 8pin socket before. Hopefully...the 4 pin will fix your issue as it could be a problem with the 8pin cable or that section of the psu.
omg
