My game crashed! What could be the cause?
There are multiple reasons why the game could crash. If someone leaves the island quietly, that person had a communication error and was kicked from the island due to a poor Internet connection. Please try to leave the island via the airport to prevent potential crashes. If crashing is a persistent issue, you can always check your connection by going to System Settings > Internet > Test Connection and checking your NAT type (Network Address Translation). There are 6 NAT types: A, B, C, D, E, and F. The NAT type that will work the best with online play is A and B. If your NAT type is C or under, you may need to adjust your WiFi router. It is also recommended to use a strong Internet connection. Using a hotspot instead of a WiFi router may result in a weaker connection. Please do not blame others if the island crashes!
Yes, you will need a purchased Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play with other people through the Internet. For this reason, codes used for local play will not work for online play. Local play codes can only have up to 4 digits and can be custom-made by the host. Online play codes are randomly-generated 5-digit codes.
Any questions about the game can go to #game-help-questions❓. Requesting a service on your island will require for you to head to #player-services where others can help out with any services you need. #server-info has the description of every channel in this server.
