@patent arrow you can also use yellow hyacinths for corn, purple hyacinths for lavender, I used white mum cushions for lettuce, I’ve seen someone use the apples for tomatoes. So there’s a bunch of ideas you can also add to your future garden/farm!

@north nacelle a far one is a gift and a curse. I personally wish I had a closer one because making cliffs like @icy flint did is so cute. Instead of trying to come up with ways to extend an entrance to the RS. As I have a strip of area on the right side of my island that is such a pain to decorate

^ there are pros and cons in both a close and a far RS. But remember, your entrance doesn't have to lead to the RS! it can be a standalone thing~

Terraforming is definitely unmissable in this game so I'd just hold off on it and work on other parts until you can! It's very convenient to shape your island wherever

Also look try to take breaks, sometimes what looks great at the moment can look not as well on a second take and vice versa

@raven granite that's not too bad! Remember that not all cliffs have to have an incline attached, it can merely be a decorative cliff that you can climb up with a ladder when needed. And other elevated areas only need one incline in a centralized entrance ~ it might take longer to get to places but it will make your island feel bigger

There is some general advice though, like sizing down areas of water to make room for land stuff, putting builds on the beach (villagers houses can go there as can your own), and try to size down unecessary builds you might have like overly large flower beds and stuff like that

@shadow flower imo, everyone's islands always feels bigger because you're unfamiliar with it! Also, if they have specific paths that you have to take to get somewhere, it'll give the illusion that the island is bigger bc it takes longer to get places :)
