It really is just because this is a heavily decorated area with many waterfalls, plants and other items that move in the wind. There is no other cause for lag

I'd advise you to put your trash items right next to your house or a building you visit often; that way every time you exit the building it reloads the area and the nearby trash items will be picked to spawn a bug more often; basically it'll make the game try to spawn a fly more often than when it's just in the wild like you did

I just tested it: yes it will, but only if the pipes are far enough from each other and you wait ~10 seconds before using the pipe again.
So if you were asking this to find an alternative to entering-leaving a building to make a fly spawn while avoiding the building loading screen, that should work yes, but I'm not sure using pipes would be faster to do since you need to wait a bit for the areas to actually unload and get filled with new bugs.

Since they request crafts and may give DIYs for them is there any resource or guide about utilizing amiibos to get patterns without actually intending to get the villagers? eg. is each amiibo only ever going to give me one? Is it tied to their personality/what they would give me if I found them working in their house? Can I invite them endlessly to get DIYs but just never invite them to my island? If I don't do a task for them will they have a new task/possible DIY next time? (did .t amiibo but didn't see this answered!)

Ok so I kinda forgot about this lol but other helpers more used to amiibo campers have replied the following:

• if you complete a villager's crating request on 3 different visits, the next times you invite them they'll always ask to move in without asking you to craft something; the only way to reset it would be to invite 8 other campers first, but since you only have 5 that you can use that won't work for you.
• Yes the DIYs they ask for seems to depend on their personality, e.g these are from the same pool as the ones they might craft in their house
• If you get their DIY but don't give them the crafted object, you won't make progress in their request count, and the next time you invite them, they might ask for a different one, so that should be a way that would allow you to grind DIYs.

the easiest way, for ant is a rotten turnip on diggable path (you need 3 or 4 tiles across of diggable path); ants are relatively common
For flies, place trash near a building; enter and leave the building until you see a fly

if you are doing meteonook and can't distinguish between the weather go for the vaguer option there should be a simple rain / no rain option.
