• The basic idea is to fill your island with plants and furniture, as Isabelle usually suggests. So if she says to add flowers, do it - or at least, wait for them to be fully bloomed (to get the max points from them) ; Same thing if she hints at adding furniture.

Yes, you do need to do that to progress to 3 stars
There should be somewhere that you’re able to put a bridge - the river needs to be 3-5 spaces wide, with land on the both sides that is at least 4 spaces wide! Feel free to send a pic of your map and we can help you find a spot that will work, if you still need assistance)

Golden stag : go to a mystery island after 7pm, with some coconut trees, plant them there, cut all other kind for tree,remove the stumps, run over bloomed flowers, so only the coconut tree are spawnable. And then you just scare away non golden stag insects. As long as you stay on that island (and it's still the same month) it can spawn

Yes, the first camper will always be a smug, he will appear the day after the camping is built.

If you don't have 10 villagers yet you need to place a plot for the camper to be able to move in.
If you already have 10 the camper will replace a random villager, that will immediately be in boxes once you've agreed.

I currently have Lopez in boxes. He was kicked out using an amiibo camper. Someone came to adopt him and Lopez would not move to their island. They currently have a confirmed plot open. For the kicking question, it's really up to you... but do know that friendship is the main thing that affects the photo gifting (you need at least friendship level 5 to have a chance at it, and higher friendship points increase the odds of getting it) and growing friendship with villagers can take time
Also, the DIY recipes crafted & given by villagers depend on their personality (each one has its own pool of DIYs they can craft & give)
