People do it lots of ways, there's youtube videos. I roll both balls to max size, and then roll one ball on a 10x1 path (dirt or anything but grass) directly onto the second. Perfect Snowboy every time. But also a max sized one.

Odds are very good that an item or some structure in the landscape is somehow blocking that space, if you have any furniture or trees or cliffs nearby, that's where I'd look first--though I'm not super into rock gardens so someone else might have a more thorough answer. They might need a screen cap of your set up for that though!

Unfortunately no but with the amiibo once you have it, you invite them to your campsite 3 days in a row. Each day they will ask you to make them something. Once you do it, save it and tt to the next day. On the 3rd day, after the last request is done, keep talking to them. There's an option to invite to live there on your island. They will ask resident services and be told no but you have the option to kick out the 10th villager you didn't want. :)

No, they just heavily nerfed tarantula (and scorpion) spawns over a year ago. It's no longer a good way to make bells, but if you're doing it for critterpedia/bug model/museum purposes then just keep at it for a bit.

RNG, if you have an empty move in-queue its pure RNG for it to fill, can take 1 in game day, to months before it fills. Or if you've been playing online with others since your last plot filled, its come from the move-in queue, which automatically fills the next in game day after an empty plot is open
