I've been trying to max out the number of clients available to HHP and have done over 400 homes now. I know I'm still missing some, but I can't seem to find new clients anywhere, including the all the facilities. All of the villagers I interact with already have a home built. Anyone else have this issue? Do I need to resort to amiibos to get the last few regular villagers I'm missing?

The only way to get them in-game without trading is by doing the Nook Miles and Nook Miles+ achievements, then printing the tickets out.
But many many people trade NMT for items/villagers, or they go to treasure islands (player-made islands, sometimes hacked, with a large assortment of desirable items up for grabs on them) to get nmt.

We do not know the success rate for transferring a villager from someone's MOQ to another's MIQ, only that it has a chance to happen if the person has empty space in their MIQ. There is almost no way to guarantee a certain villager gets transferred to your friend's MIQ.

Because a villager wanted to move out, I closed the game and didn't talk to them anymore that day and on the next day I haven't found any villager with the move out thought bubble, and for several days afterwards, there's still no sign of it. Am I just unlucky to not have checked on my villagers at the right time or has something changed?

No species is more likely to appear, but this means that individual villagers have slightly different chances based on how many villagers there are in their species. So you have a slightly higher chance of finding Marina the octopus than Tom the cat, but you have the same chance of finding any octopus as finding any cat

When you build the first 3 plots, when do you get to go hunting for villagers? My bf started his island recently, built the plots today but found no villagers on the mystery islands.
Maybe relevant: on the day prior, before building the plots, he went to one and invited Ellie, but she had no plot to move into
And today he wasn't done delivering the furniture to the last house before he went hunting, but then he finished it, tried to hunt again and still no villager appeared on the mystery islands

I'm guessing he just has to wait until the next day, but when I did all that I remember it being on the same day (build plots + invite villagers), so I just wanted to clarify

You can hunt, but it has to be before the furniture items are fully submitted in that case. and the plots don’t have to actually be placed for this either

If any of the data points you included were on an event day, that could be why; more event days per year were added since the last update to the tool, and since event days use a set weather pattern, what would normally be there isn’t, and that messes with the tool since it doesn’t know when the new event days are (if that makes sense and if I’m correct)

I’m aware of the corroborated method of exiting to the home menu and engaging the prompt once again.
