It's likely down to a NAT type error. If an error message and code pops up when you try to join your friend. I'd try googling it just so then you will be directed to the Nintendo support website which will give some ways to try and resolve it

For the most part yes, items from treasure islands are safe. The things you want to avoid picking up are things the game can and will get "confused" by if you have multiples. Examples: bridge/incline construction kits, campsite construction kits, etc. Otherwise, normal items are safe, just be aware most of these islands are curated via hacking.

.. Yes and no (sorry, Nintendo has decided to make this a bit of a complicated issue).
As we've entered 2021 and gotten new and returning seasonal items, the way Nintendo has been introducing them is by removing them from 2020, and adding them to 2021. So you can time travel backwards starting November 2020 - August 2021 to obtain past seasonal items, but beyond that (i.e., January 2020 - October 2020 or November 2021 and beyond) the seasonal items won't be there. Hopefully that makes sense, and hopefully I remembered those dates correctly

The player base between AC and SDV have a huge overlap, and the game has a co-op mode. It's also compatible between lots of systems, in the event you don't have the same type of computer. I've also heard of Garden Paws, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, and the Sims, but can't give as much of an in-depth look into those three as I haven't played them.

Yes you can replace a villager. you have to win the card game and talk to them until they ask. then they'll come back and ask you if a random villager wants you to leave. if you want that villager to stay immediately close the game and restart it over again and she'll ask you about a different villager

unfortunately, the only way to change your in game name IS to restart. however, something that may work is getting all your villagers to call you a nickname and have that be your chosen name so that they use that one instead of the name you don’t want

they are rare, iirc it’s a 3% chance to get one. additionally, make sure that you are shaking CEDAR trees, they are the only ones that drop them
