Amiibos are primarily physical cards so they couldn’t really send you it. They’d most likely invite Lily to their island, get her in boxes, then give her to you.

I think the way amiibo trades usually work is they use their amiibo to get the villager then use the move out method to get them in boxes. Then you come and talk to them to invite them to your island

@stuck hinge No way to go faster, though while on the surface you can heard them towards the net. When you dive and try to catch them, they've a better than normal chance to move back towards you.

How does villagers doing DIYs work? I thought it was one in morning and one in afternoon. I went on my island as one resident and immediately got a DIY from a villager ( around 10:35PM). Then immediately saved and closed and went on as another resident but that villager was no longer DIYing.

You don’t really need to hit EVERY tree, but enough so that you have the materials to make new tools or furniture. At the beginning, I’d make sure I had a few stacks of each kind of wood.

I just looked at the Villager Calculator page for the first time (linked above).

What does this mean?

"Do you have a complete species?"

You don't need a golden shovel for bell trees, you just need to bury bells in a glowing spot

You have the same chance to get a cat as an octopus, just that the villagers within each species have different chances. Having villagers of a species you're looking for increases the chance of finding a different villager in that species since the ones you have are excluded.

No, it's 70% chance to only get 10k back and 30% to get 3x what you buried if you bury anything more than 10k

How do amiibo trades work?

You can't trade Amiibo villagers directly from the campsite, you have to invite them to your island and then put them in boxes, they are then traded like all other villagers
